    I am so glad that I got to spend time here this weekend. The hotel is calming and immaculate. The gym is one of the nicer facilities I have experienced at a hotel as well (along with the pool and spa). The text feature worked well to get an extra bathrobe and towels the first night, and there are thoughtful touches like chocolates and a Bluetooth speaker in the room. There is also an espresso machine in each room. I would love to keep coming here for any future trips to SD.

    Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but there were a few disappointments. Given the standard of the hotel, I would have expected a better level of service, as some members of staff appeared somewhat inattentive and lacking attention to detail. The room was comfortable, but unfortunately quite noisy. At times it sounded as though there was a bowling alley directly above us, which affected the overall experience. The parking was more expensive than the car rental cost ! That said, the hotel has many positive qualities, and with a little more attention to service and guest comfort, it could be excellent.

    One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Everything was perfect from beginning to end, and the details were really well thought out. The staff was incredible and went above and beyond to create a good guest experience. Any time I had a question, I had answers within minutes, and it really felt like everyone working there wanted to make sure my stay was special. Kathy at concierge was especially incredible and I’m thankful for all her help during my stay! The hotel has a fleet of Cadillacs which you can use for up to four hours during your stay, which really came in handy as I didn’t rent a car. Driving along the beaches was one of my favorite parts of my trip. On top of that, the location is perfect. I came for two concerts at petco park and being walking distance to the venue was invaluable. I couldn’t say enough positive things about this hotel. And I truly can’t wait to be back someday soon!!

    Great location, incredible staff. The hallways are a bit dated and shabby but the rooms very clean and modern. The pool area is lovely but get there early if you want a chair near the pool. Restaurant and bar area is very nice.

    Perfect location for petco park which was why we were there . Food choices are limited but there are a lot of restaurants in walking distance . Parking is expensive overnight but most of the parking lots down town are as well. Didn’t use the pool or the gym this time . Room was very nice with good view of the city .

    Location only I travel a lot. This hotel really puzzled me why charges as 5 star. Room smelled unpleasantly. Hideous design of the rooms. We couldn't stop laughing why shower room has clear glass almost in the middle of the room in front of the bed. Don't believe me? Have a visit. It's hilarious. There are better hotels in 5 min walk from there. Ah also odd that you have to pay to go in sauna. Pool area is bellow average. There are a lot of weird and overpriced things in the hotel. Thanks God there is The Hotel Coronado I booked as an insurance so we left there.

    This is a "boutique" hotel. We arrived at 2pm and they told us we couldnt get our room until check in 4pm. They have a bar/lounge and a restaurant right in the same property. We thought ok lets hang out. Nope. Restaurant was closed. Bar/lounge didnt open till 3pm. To me thats inconvenient and for your guest benefits maybe they should be open earlier than 3pm. They said we will txt you when you can check in to your room. We left to eat. 5pm rolled around, no text so we walked back to the hotel to ask if we could finally check in. So much for communication. Our room: initially looked nice. The mirror above the bed was dirty, something splashed on it, on the head board as well as on the TV. Layer of dust on everything, i.e. coffee maker and lamps on nightstands. We booked for 6 days. Tell me why they dont have any dressers or drawers? Two ppl living out of our suitcases because we couldnt unpack anything. The nightstand, two tiny drawers that were also dirty, hairs and other debri in them. We decided to head to the pool. 5:30pm we head upstairs to the 3rd floor, gonna grab some drinks and hang out by pool. Nope. Bar already did last call. We were told maybe if we went to the counter the bartender might still be able to make us a drink. Just does not make sense any timing this hotel has. 6 days, housekeeping came in everyday, the mirror, tv, headboard, NEVER cleaned and Yes front desk said they would take care of it they did not. Food/restaurants were good when open.

Concierge and front desk service was lacking, asked about having a hair blowout somewhere, gave one suggestion,and said if we wanted any help from them it had to be within the n xt 20 minutes as they were leaving for day (4:30p) and it would have been extremely helpful for the front desk knowing we were checking out Sunday to have informed us of the city marathon that day, to be prepared for delays in transportation.

    Location was spectacular, staff was so friendly and attentive. We felt super safe and taken care of while we stayed. The view from our room was so nice to wake up to. The only thing that could have been better was out purchase of the trolley tour tickets. The concierge was not very knowledgeable. We got told the wrong times of the trolley pick up and was given wrong directions.

    The pendry doesn’t disappoint. We came for a birthday weekend and had a blast at the Sunday pool party. Being in the heart of gas lamp is perfect. You can drop your car and walk everywhere.

    I had an emergency, we had a medical event abd then a death in our family, and needed to change the dates of my reservation, or a refund. I realize the likelihood of a refund would be nil so I requested to move my dates so as to not lose $1600+. The refused because I had booked through hotels.com. I am a Platinum member at Hotels.com and cannot believe this is the outcome. I will never stay at the Pendry again and will continue to share this experience with everyone I know. Myself and folks in my industry stay in SD often, Pendry will most certainly never be on the list again.

    I’ve stayed at most every hotel in the Gaslamp District and the Pendry disappointed on so many levels. Heavy resort fee with little offered. Checked in, no bell service offered. $65 parking is ridiculous but not out for the area. But the service was so “uneven” and indifferent. Small room in good shape, decent bed, only one bathrobe, but just overall not a 5 star experience. Pool was packed and the only open seats were reserved. Prices outrageous in the mini bar and no option to put anything in there as they charge $100 fee to empty it so you can chill your own. Again, high expectations and low results. I would recommend almost any of the other high end hotels in the area over the Pendry.

    W had a nice time, staff was helpful. Great pool scene. I was unfamiliar with the concept of the “weighted” fridge mini bar (remove an honor bar for greater than 60 seconds to make room for your own water bottle, you are charged for it, whether it was opened or not. This is printed in fine print on the honor bar menu, stashed behind all the honor bar items. Throughout our stay we removed more items to make room for yummy leftovers from San Diego’s lovely Michelin star restaurants. So even though we put back all our unused mini bar items at the end of our stay, the “smart” bar still charged us for all of them. Also the elevators are confusing. Nice water pressure. The pool menu was decent, we had fresh oysters on half shell and fruit by pool-great snack. It’s pretty spoiled to say I won’t go back to such a nice hotel, but that mini smart bar thing ticked me off. It was sneaky. If the WEF designed a mini bar, this would be it. Staff was very friendly-everyone of them.

    It is very loud in the hallways. The doors all slam shut and make your whole room shake. The bathroom situation in our room was super odd. It in the corner of the room but not a separate area. its enclosed with glass that did have a curtain to conceal the shower area. The sink in tiny! we had to keep alot of our thing on the floor under the sink.. The bed was very comfortable. service at Provisional was not very good. Very slow to be seated and to be served. Food was just ok.. The bars had great service and were quite lively. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful.

    I enjoyed everything about the hotel except for the fact that the pool bar closes at 6PM! I understand seasonal staffing, but if the pool area is full of guests, why shut down instead reallocating whatever resources necessary to mee the needs of your paying guests? I am not looking for kitchen staff, but a single bartender can serve a limited beverage menu until the sun sets at the very least.

    Highly recommend! One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in San Diego, with easy walking access to the convention center. Nice pool area with good service. A minor issue was the men’s locker room in the Pendry Spa—it could have been better maintained throughout the day. When I visited in the evening, towels were on the floor, one toilet was clogged, and most lockers were unstocked (missing robes, towels, hangers). For the price, I expected a tidier space.

Said that they charge for that service and thwn finally gave me a Harbor view room. Terrible service from front desk. Beverly Hill Hotel gave me a bungalow. And L’Ermitage extended a beautiful room as did Newport. San Diego was such a disappointment. Beware the neighborhood

    Great location with great staff. We were always greeted with a smile and if we needed assistance with anything. The small things that make you feel welcome helps to add to the stay. The concierge was great, gave us great recommendations that only locals and popular restaurants and bars. Would definitely recommend and plan on visiting again.
