We happened to stay at this hotel (we were there to attend a memorial service) during graduation weekend for UCSD. All of the hotels in San Diego were busy for this big event, including this one. The day after we left, the price for this hotel went down by half. If I paid THAT price, I would be fine with this hotel, but for the price we paid (about $300), this hotel underwhelmed. It is a clean but a basic experience -- small room, small bathroom. The hotel had everything you need but not a lot of style or any frills -- including the breakfast -- it is workable but that is all. It seemed to be a clean $150/night kind of place with a pool, some nice plantings, and jammed into a not so charming street.

This hotel was absolutely perfect! Such an amazing location, everything we did was about a 10 minute drive away. The property was so well-maintained, the grounds were so pretty and landscape very well, beautiful flowers, which we so appreciated! The heated pool was so nice after a long day, love that it was open until 10 o'clock! The room itself was so comfortable and everything was so clean. Really appreciated that they had shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the bathroom! And a mini fridge! The air conditioner Worked so well and the room was so nice and cold quickly. 10 out of 10, no notes! Would definitely come back here and recommend others to stay here 😊

We arrived early and they did have early check in available and also allowed us late check out! They were very welcoming and the room was excellent! We were close to everything there definitely coming back!

Lovely older property with list of character. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely choose again. No water for sale so got pretty thirsty, settled for Sprite

Near Old Town and Trolley Station. Free parking and free breakfast. Kitchenette in our room. Friendly staff. Nothing really negative but a hot tub in pool area would be nice. The location was a little isolated but still close enough to everything we needed.

great amenities for the price, walking distance to the train, free parking and a pool. dog friendly! really nice staff carpeted rooms in general just give me the ick but that’s pretty standard for hotel rooms, otherwise it was perfect.

The inn is clean and the front was available and professional. The room was nice and the location is excellent.
- 4/5
Clean room in older motel style property. I wouldn’t want to stay on bottom floor as it seems like not so great area. The stairs and elevator required hotel card to use which was nice. It was fine for 2 nights. If plan on using the train it’s really close to Old Town station otherwise I would probably stay elsewhere. It isn’t walkable to restaurants/shops. Lots of homeless on streets near hotel.

I think it is not bad inn. But if you expect a fancy and very clean condition, you have to chose another option.

We've stayed here several times. It's a great central location to get to the various neighborhoods in San Diego. It's also dog friendly for a reasonable price.

The hotel was amazing and staff exceptional. If you want to walk the location is industrial with a few homeless peeps around the transit stop. I would absolutely stay again and we got free upgrade to king suite which was magical. We walked to Casa Guadalajara twice.
- 4/5
Good, basic motel that is well maintained. The room needs updating, expecially the bathroom and the furniture. The motel is located on a noisy street and you can be disturbed by a passing train. They allow pets and we had a noisy dog next door to us. We don't feel we got what we paid for in terms of value.

I arrived by the free San Flyer bus from the airport to the Old Town transit across the street. The only small negative, a few folk in the area living on the street. I didn’t feel threatened at all but just be aware. The staff at the Old Town Motel are wonderful.
- 4/5
Beautiful property, safe, staff is great, the only thing we weren’t 100% satisfied were the rooms and the mini fridge. Rooms seem old a bit damaged and the fridge barely worked, so our stuff wasn’t cold. Overall for the time we were there it was great.

Details in the room were great, artwork wasn't boring, lighting was plentiful. Bathroom area was spacious. Staff were pleasant and helpful. A little scary arriving at night as I didn't know where I was going. Once I saw it. It was warm and inviting.

Location was great to attend nearby Rock 'n Roll half-marathon, room was clean, bed was comfortable, and breakfast was good! Front desk staff member was super pleasant and inviting! Didn't have time to use pool, but it looked really nice. Overall, pleased with our stay.

Rooms are clean. We stayed in a room with two queen beds. I liked there was a sink in the bathroom and outside of it too. So you can get ready while someone is showering. Breakfast was yogurt, hard boiled eggs, packaged danishes, bagels and muffins. And my favorite, the waffle maker! The breakfast room staff worked hard keeping everything stocked. It was busy for Memorial Day weekend, but quiet at night. The homeless people from under the freeway or by the transit center don't make their way to the hotel. It's convenient to walk to Old Town and to the trolley station. Much easier than driving everywhere or waiting for an Uber/Lyft. I'll be back.
- 4.5/5
Was very close to the venue I was attending that night and easy to find. A/C was very quiet and ADA shower was lovely and safe. Parking was a bit difficult. Was good when I checked in but came back late and less good choices. Spot I got was good getting in but difficult to get out.

This place was clearly dated but so wonderful! The staff were top notch, the breakfast was delicious, the room was clean (very cozy and small). I would recommend staying here! Very close to the airport and Old Town is within walking distance Short drive to San Diego Zoo and Mission bay. Short commute to multiple shopping areas and restaurants. The check in and out with Joshua was pleasant and seemless and he was very friendly and informative. Rooms were large and very clean and bed was comfortable. It was very quiet as well. Nice breakfast and free parking. During our stay we saw families and older couples so it seemed like it catered to all travelers. The pool area was really nice though we didn’t swim. Great value for the money and felt safe. Would definitely return.

The staff was incredibly friendly! The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was fine but no eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. so don’t plan on getting much protein. We drink decaf coffee and they only had it available 1 of our 4 days (they did have instant decaf packets available). The one frustration we had was with our room keys which were needed for use of the elevators and access to the stairs. At least once a day they would stop working and we had to go get them reset at the front desk.

He also fixed my towel stand in the Deluxe King Suite. The Jacuzzi was Amazing by the way. I would get that room every night if I could afford it. The breakfast staff and the housekeepers are always courteous and very clean and always have coffee out or will bring me everything I need. The breakfast was great. Also, we arrived stressed and the clerk was so helpful. She gave us the "shortcut map to Old Town" and let us in the room earlier than check-in time since it was ready. I wish I remembered her name. Finding the location. We were dragging a suitcase with us and we ended up making a circle thru an area that was pretty seedy -- homeless, trash, no sidewalk. I would recommend emailing your "shortcut map to Old Town" to guests. Once we were given that it was easy.

Stayed here for a concert at Petco for green line convenience. Any concerns from first impression went out the window after checkin with friendly front desk staff, seeing the sparkling blue pool and clean hotel room. We observed housekeeping mopping the cement walkways and continuously caring for the property. I would stay here again for any events downtown. Price was half of cost of our go-to brand in the city and free parking is such a bonus in San Diego.

Clean and spacious. I’ve stayed at many of the big chain hotels in San Diego an in the same area. This is my new go to hotel when visiting. Linens were clean, soft and comfy. Old Town Inn is always clean, staff is always friendly, and the property seems to be taken care of. I love that parking is inculded and the location to mass transit to go downtown is a big help if you want to skip driving and paying for overpriced parking lots. Overall, the Old Town Inn hit all the bullet points for a clean and comfortable stay. We enjoyed the central location near the freeway interchange, making it easy to head in different directions while exploring San Diego's activities. The breakfast room was clean and spacious with the continental basics. The property outside was impeccably kept. The landscaping and parking lots were as clean as you would expect at Disneyland. We felt safe on the property. The Inn is located near a San Diego Transit hub for buses, trains, and trolleys, which attracts many transients on the street outside of the hotel property. There are no views to speak of other than the quaintness of the hotel. The water in San Diego has an underlying sulfur odor that is off-putting, but that is not a reflection of the Inn.

Like many people, I am sensitive to gross, industrial strength perfumed laundry detergent and can get sick from it. The nasty smell from it also attaches itself to your clothes and can be hard to get off, even after you leave a hotel. That’s why, every single time I book a hotel I call before to ask if they use those cleaning products, in the room or on bed sheets or towels. When I called your hotel and asked specifically about this, they said they could arrange the room that way and to call a day before my stay so they could make a note to do it… Now, it would be one thing if I called and someone said, “No, we can’t do that. We prefer using these overpoweringly gross detergents.” But on not one but two separate occasions, someone told me they would arrange for a room without these cleaning products. So, like it or not, it wasn’t just some lapse on my part, and whether intentional or not, it was very dishonest. For people who don’t know much about this, it might not seem like a big deal, but it is overwhelming to deal with, and like I said, can make you sick and be extremely hard to get off of clothes I cannot easily replace. And I did ask specifically about this before arriving. To be fair, when I told the management, they washed the sheets for me in something else, but the smell is so powerful a lot of it was still there for the rest of my stay. Whoever told me they could book a room without those products should face consequences. I will not stay here ever again.

Everyone that worked at Old Town Inn was so nice! Breakfast was great. You could make your own waffles, they had bagels and toast, assortment of cereals, coffee, tea and juices. Hard boiled eggs and some fruit. Outdoor pool was nice and very clean. My kids swam at night and it was such a great environment with the cozy lighting, roses by the rooms nearby. Rooms are very clean. It is a motel setting so we were on the second floor with your room entrance right from the walkway. Plenty of parking and area was well lit and safe. I'd say it was 6 minutes to the airport, 2 minutes to Old San Diego and maybe 8 minutes to Sea World. Would definitely stay there again! N/A

Though we didn't have breakfast there, coffee was available from morning til night. The room was perfect size, and very clean. Location was excellent. Even though we rented a car, we walked across street abt 3 minute walk to Amtrak Station and went on a day trip to Los Angeles and back. My first trip on a train. Loved it! The thought of finding out that the water would be shut down the very next day we got there for an extended period of time. I wonder if they considered giving us credit for half days room charge?

The front staff was not too informed about the bus and trolley system just steps away from their hotel. Over all we we will stay there again if in San Diego!
- 5/5
How very clean, nice it looked. The staff were very friendly
- 5/5
Walking distance from train station. Sidewalks to use. Beautiful landscaping around the property. Good breakfast, lots of variety. All day coffee. Nice lobby. Helpful staff
- 4.5/5
Older decor but still cute and clean! Management was great. Bed was comfy! Super close to airport Fine for the amount paid
- 3.5/5
The staff was very nice
- 4/5
Grounds were kept up beautifully. Pool was nice... no spa. Our room had full kitchen but oven was broken. Close to Amtrak. Not in a very good area if town. No spa or fitness facility.
- 5/5
Clean, helpful staff.
- 5/5
Wonderful place for a quick getaway
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Awesome staff and great location to Old town. Is off the main road and freeway so if you are a light sleeper, this may be bothersome. Walkable to old town. Breakfast was your typical continental items. Overall a decent place
- 4/5
The property was clean and the staff was warm and friendly. It was a little “tired.”
- 5/5
It’s a beautiful oasis! Walkable to Old Town. I will return.
- 5/5
Nice staff, so clean, very pleasant stay.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean, the staff helpful, nice breakfast and the beds were very comfortable. Highly recommend the Old Town Inn.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, convenient location, near the tram stop, feels humanely-run vs corporation so it is nice for a change. Will go back All good
- 4.5/5
Great staff, breakfast and comfortable rooms. Beautiful grounds. Pool was closed.
- 1.5/5
The continental breakfast was decent, No hot items except waffles and limited selection of bagged pastries. We still wound up at Denny's before Church. But good for a morning snack. We did enjoy the secure feeling of the building access, elevators and stairwells needed key for entry. Room was comfortable and clean, a little tight but it did have a fridge! Staff upon arrival was welcoming but thumbs down to Gabby when we asked why the pool was not heated as advertised her answer was you have to get in the pool, it’s warm on the inside. It’s was 68° outside, the pool was advertised at 80°, there was no steam coming off of the pool and my three-year-old toddlers lips turned blue within two minutes. We were not able to enjoy the amenities the entire four day stay. On the last day, the manager decided to put a sign at the front desk stating that the pool was closed for maintenance. Which leads me to believe that they knew the heaters were not correctly working and failed to advertise it. I do agree we did receive what we paid for it’s just unfortunate that Hospitality is not a focus at this hotel. Enforce staff hospitality and advertised truthfully, if facilities are not going to be available as advertised. Driving from hundreds of miles away and looking for a particular hotel with a heated pool for a child was a focus for us.
- 4/5
Very good for that price.
- 5/5
Visited from the UK. Stayed three nights with our two tweenage girls in a family room. The room was spacious, well equipped and beds comfy. And despite being next to navel base and in flight path, it was quiet and we appreciated the access to old town, the freeway and the airport. The rest of the hotel was as spotless and well tended. Staff super helpful, breakfast plentiful and gardens and pool area full of lush, beautiful, tropical plants. It far exceeded expectations and was good value for money. Would stay again.
- 5/5
I was so impressed with how lovely this property is and how well it runs. It was the best experience. Thank you we will be back!
- 4/5
Cute Inn and nicely kept. Pool and geounds are nicely kept. Breakfast could use some improvements- all gluten and no protein. There was a giant cockroach that came out of the sink as I was checking out loo but other than that Id stay here again.
- 4/5
It’s in a convenient location and clean and the grounds and outside are cute but I didn’t like the carpet in the rooms.
- 4/5
No restaurants within 10-15 minutes walking distance.
- 4/5
Breakfast menu was basic. My daughter made waffles which she said were good, other than that, there were packaged danishes, boiled eggs, bagels etc. I went to buy water and a soda from the vending machines however, they were sold out of everything. The staff was very friendly.
- 4/5
Great location - easy walk to the Old Town bus/tram station.
- 5/5
Great Breakfast!!!
- 5/5
4th generation owners who know how to make you feel welcomed. The entire staff is amazing, friendly, service oriented and make you feel like you’re a family guest. The breakfast offered has multiple options and stays open until 10:00am!!!! What a novel idea for those guests who like to sleep in a bit more. You’re not rushed to eat and run!!
- 5/5
Rooms are very clean and my 2 daughter are satisfied with the rooms and bath conditions.
- 3/5
The Good The hotel is family-owned, which attracted me to the property. Staff are very kind and accommodating. Everyone we encountered was gracious and quick to assist. This is especially notable since they were actively changing software systems, which can be disruptive. They were exceptionally gracious to let us out of our reservation when we expressed that we wanted to change hotels. Parking was free and easy. The continental breakfast was nice. There are many nearby stores (Target, grocery, etc), which allowed us to quickly stock our kitchenette (helpful for families). In-room amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.) were more than sufficient. The Challenges The buildings are older, and one consequence is a lack of natural light. The windows open to a roofed outdoor hallway, allowing anyone to easily look in if the curtains were open. We kept them pulled and the room was dark. There was an exposed carpet nail. We did not experience any security issues, however there was signage to always double-lock our room door. Everything required a key, including the breakfast room and the bathrooms at the pool. With a little one, we had to ask for the bathroom key (on a large stick) several times. Other reviewers said that it was fine to walk to Old Town during the day, but we did not feel comfortable doing so.
- 5/5
My mom said the property looked like a hacienda. Don't let the surrounding buildings deter you. It's walking distance to Old Town and even closer to public transportation.
- 5/5
There isn't an airport shuttle. I read there was one across the street but that was actually several blocks away. As a double amputee it was impossible for me. I took a taxi and it cost almost $30 US. I gave him a $5 tip.
- 5/5
Clean room and a lot of amenities. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Always stay here whenever we can. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
The room was very clean, love the shower and the room distrubution was perfect. Extra points for the smart tv. The lady at the breakfest is adorable. Love the recepcion! The dinosaur rocks! It was realy nice stay!
- 5/5
Cute place!
- 4/5
The free airport shuttle is a short walk which is why we chose this hotel, and of course it is near Old Town. We enjoyed the upkeep and vegetation around the property. The pool was a lovely place to sit and have morning coffee.
- 5/5
Great spot! Quick walk into Old Town. The staff was super friendly!
- 5/5
Would stay here again.
- 4/5
Breakfast had a good variety and was good tasting. Some have been better (Greek yogurt instead of Yoplait for instance) but I was happy with it overall. This is the second time I've stayed and the beds really are comfy. I had an exhausting week and was an able to sleep for 11 hours in it. Best part is that I could cuddle up with my big dog as they do not discriminate sizes. I would recommend and would stay again should the need arise
- 5/5
nice breakfast, lots of parking spots
- 4/5
it was fine
- 5/5
They have adequate parking space, breakfast is decent and is very close to a lot of attractions in San Diego, rooms are spacious, clean
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Great breakfast, Clean pool, friendly staff
- 5/5
very clean room, good simple breakfast.
- 5/5
It does what it supposed to do. Room was humid and smell like bleach poured in a closed room. It’s very well located near long term parking and very close to the airport. Staff was friendly and check out was a little slow. Over all I would stay there again but don’t expect high end installations or royal treatment.
- 5/5
They only had boiled eggs as the main protein for breakfast better breakfast options would have been great! Otherwise this place is a solid stay near old town
- 5/5
We stayed at a petite suite which had an accompanying kitchen. This was perfect to store our milk and snacks for the vacation. Also, the suites allowed us to stay in another parking lot which was attached to the property, but was far enough away that it seemed more private. Check-in was the only slight hiccup in that it took close to an hour to check into our room. We came at 2:45, check in was 3, room was ready about 3:45. The area around the property was nice in that it was a close walk to Old Town and Public Transit. Seemed a bit shady walking the area, a bit dark at night, but everything was fine.
- 3/5
Don’t count on the hotel breakfast at all. It’s not good. They don’t serve any hot food just cheese, bread, waffles, and cold hard-boiled eggs from the fridge. The parking area is quite small and doesn’t feel very secure. It’s also very difficult to find parking.
- 5/5
Always a nice stay there. The security was prompt when homeless persons were hanging out on the stairs
- 5/5
Loved the Old Town Inn - we'll stay here again the next time we visit San Diego. Room was very clean and very comfortable. Easy connection to the internet and convenient to areas of interest. The grounds are gorgeous and welcoming. We arrived before 3:00 check-in and were able to "pre-check in" so when we returned after 3:00, all we needed was the key and we were done! Super nice front desk staff, too. Thank you Old Town Inn!
- 5/5
What a hidden gem! Staff very friendly and convenient to where my friend lives.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly. The room and property was clean. Pet friendly.
- 5/5
Excellent for a family trip
- 4/5
Attractive property! Pool area was great! Clean room. Night staff, Tim, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Close to Old Town. Downside was our room smelled musty - we were in room 249. A better brand of coffee would also be appreciated.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff. Very nice Boutique Motel
- 5/5
Yes very affordable per charge😊
- 3/5
Great location but the property is quite old and the rooms are okish for the paid price. Breakfast is decent. The room structure was really weird - no for for the bathroom but a door before vanity area and the fridge.
- 5/5
Easy check in & affordable
- 3/5
Nice room, although several of the outlets did not work (an older facility). The water pressure was great and good TV choices and had a makeup area. Breakfast was free, but really just cold cereal and make your own waffles, and they were understaffed both days as numerous things ran out, like bowls, silverware, etc. Pool was very nice and that area, along with the rest of the hotel area, was very nicely done - very pretty! Great location to Old Town, but on a main road, so could get noisy at times. The staff was very good and extremely friendly. The price was very good though for what was offered.
- 5/5
This quaint well kept property was a delight to stay in The bed was comfortable and 2 comfortable chairs and a table. Something that is hard to find. The only downside is the neighborhood has some sketchy folks walking around but that did not distract from our visit
- 3/5
I like that the airport is close. I should’ve researched a little more because there isn’t a restaurant on-site. The door handle didn’t work properly and that made me feel uneasy as a woman staying alone. The property isn’t in the best area. The room was clean, but my window was open when I entered my room- that also made me uneasy entering. Staff was ok. Not outwardly friendly or anything. I don’t think I’ll stay here again. But if you’re looking for a cheap and average comfort inn type of room, it would be good for that.
- 4/5
Old property. Well managed with clean rooms and good airport access and easy access to Old Town San Diego.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, would stay here again.
- 5/5
Love the staff
- 5/5
This is a small and cozy hotel. It is very well maintained and easy to find. The free breakfast and parking are great perks for anyone to stay there. Their location was also amazing as it make it easy to access to freeways easily. There are several stores and restaurants near by, Unfortunately my daughter and I didn't feel confortable walking alone since the area could be dark and lonely at night. The only thing i didn't like was the smell in our room. I am not sure if the carpets are cleaned every time a guest brings a pet a to the hotel. It would be a good idea to do that. Overall, we like the hotel and would like to stay there again.
- 5/5
Room was spacious , dining options close by . Sort distance to Old Town and the airport
- 4/5
Clean and conveniently located
- 5/5
The pool could have been warmer, they said it was heated but I don't think so. It was very cold.
- 5/5
Room was decent Complimentary breakfast was okay
- 5/5
Very nice place and staff.
- 5/5
We really appreciated the side kitchen and bathtub! It made meal time and bath tub with our toddler so much easier! The bed was extremely comfortable too! Very affordable for being so centrally located to tourist destinations like the zoo and Sea World.
- 5/5
breakfast was good, had a variety of offerings. Nice pool and lounging area. Just a quick 5 min walk to Old Town San Diego and the tram station.
- 2/5
Definitely will not go back to stay there anymore.
- 4/5
The property itself is nice, however, it is right on the Pacific Coast Highway. The road is literally a steps to the door of my room. One room, about 3 or four rooms down, is pretty much on the sidewalk. This area is popular with the homeless. There is no fence. Anyone could stroll in with shopping cart and set up camp or worse. They. Need a fence for that portion of the hotel.
- 5/5
Really great experience! Room was clean, staff was friendly, and the location was great!
- 5/5
It was clean, staff was very nice easy to check in and out, also the breakfast was great not a lot of options more like continental breakfast.
- 5/5
All great
- 4/5
Easy access to airport, parking garage, Old town. Very convenient location coming and going to San Diego.
- 4/5
A little outdated but very clean and room was large
- 4/5
yes!
- 4/5
Clean room, staff friendly and helpful, close to Old Town
- 5/5
Excellent staff! Room was clean and beds super comfortable. Very close to Old Town San Diego and the trolley/bus/train station.
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable, quiet and close to the airport. Works for us
- 5/5
Joshua manager was very nice and kind . Their customer service was excellent . Close to shops , old town was 10 minutes walk . Very close to shops, coffee shops , and Resturant’s . I will difficulty came back here again !!! 😊
- 5/5
The hotel was extremely clean throughout. The staff was helpful, friendly and greeted me warmly. Breakfast small but hit the spot after travel. Pool warm and clean. They even have movies to watch in the rooms. Loved my stay.
- 5/5
Good wifi. It's a well-managed place. I loved the ease of parking and having windows in the room I could open. Breakfast is about average. Oatmeal is better than at most places. Great location near Old Town.
- 4/5
NIce place and close Old Town and the airport.
- 5/5
Super clean room. Staff was awesome arrived early and was able to leave bags at the front desk. We explored San Diego without having to lug our bags around
- 5/5
Clean, and staff is always friendly!
- 5/5
rooms nice and clean, spacious. Amenities are great! Staff very welcoming.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful. The room spotless and comfortable. And the continental breakfast was delicious.
- 5/5
Nice staff. Room was very comfortable. The continental breakfast had many options.
- 5/5
Nice clean room. Hi marks
- 5/5
It was all good!!
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and the front clerk was very helpful when we arrived
- 4/5
Room was clean, retro vibe to the Inn. Has breakfast but I wasn't able to participate. Not their fault, but the road noise starts early - just be aware.
- 4/5
It was close to the airport, clean everyday, breakfast is ok, free parking, only the bedrooms smell like old furniture.
- 5/5
This place was very clean, comfortable and convenient to everything. The front desk guys we're so nice. Plenty of free parking and heated pool. I'd definitely stay therr
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 3/5
The hotel was clean. Room was small but adequate. Nothing really special about it. Looks nicer in the pictures. The staff was not very friendly. The location of the hotel was the main reason for the 3 stars. It’s located in an industrial area with lots of homeless walking around. Safety was definitely a concern.
- 3/5
Had to change rooms due to broken microwave. Evening staff didn't know how to use the DVR in second room so that we could watch one of their DVDs.
- 3/5
It was a fair deal. Spacious room. Older building, had smell of burned rubber. Could be the airport or car lot next door.
- 3/5
Room was not clean. Amenities within walking distance (10 - 15 mins). Being close to Old Town was the selling point for me.
- 4/5
Room qas clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean, and I loved the little kitchenette.
- 3/5
Room had a strong smell of urine like a dirty mop was used. Front desk girls are no help and have attitude.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 5/5
The Old Town Inn is a real gem, immaculate rooms and lovely flowering garden areas, excellent breakfast options served from 6 am to 10 am., welcoming staff, thorough and friendly housekeeping, adequate safe parking, convenient location, lovely looking pool, and overall inviting stay.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staff, good value, nice pool area
- 5/5
There are no stores for water/snacks in the immediate area so plan ahead or use a delivery service. The staff is super pleasant and helpful!
- 3/5
Clean and convenient. Stayed here because they are pet friendly. Located on the other side of the freeway and train tracks from Old Town. Not a big deal.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was good.
- 5/5
They were friendly and kind. The morning breakfast was delicious and the hotel was clean and peaceful. I’m glad I had a chance to stay there and get to know the hotel staff.
- 5/5
All was great !!
- 5/5
Great customer service and convenient location!
- 5/5
very friendly staff, and clean , large rooms.
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly. Exterior was well kept. Location Whoa that through me off a bit. Felt very scetchy and isolated. It’s nice it had a kitchen however it is in need of a remodel ( entire inside ) lobby and all. Unfortunately I will more than likely not stay again.
- 5/5
Adorable inn, beautifully land scaped. Staff were wonderful. Rooms clean & you can tell well maintained
- 4/5
Clean room good customer service
- 3/5
Honest reviews would have been helpful, the area was very sketchy! Could not safely walk to old town. Unhoused people all around the area. The hotel was clean and staff friendly. The room had a loose faucet and the microwave flickered on and off when using and stove top didn’t work.
- 5/5
We always stay here when in San Diego
- 5/5
Everything was perfect!
- 3/5
The room was decent, but the location was not ideal. The front desk staff was extremely rude.
- 4/5
Solid 3 star
- 5/5
Clean room, easy check-in, decent breakfast
- 5/5
Great location. And having a functional kitchen in the suite was super handy.
- 3/5
Room was good and the staff were nice. It was in a great location, but a bit noisy with traffic.
- 5/5
Great service, clean room, and enjoyed the proximity to the transit center.
- 5/5
The room was clean. The staff is great. The place is quiet and we didn’t have any issues. Our stay was pleasant and we extended our stay through the front desk and they were very accommodating. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Not in an area where you can walk around. You can hear cars on the street and planes hovering. Breakfast was not much. Ok for the price.
- 4/5
Older hotel, but the room was clean and the staff friendly. Close to Old Town, just on the west side of the I-5 and PCH.
- 5/5
Wow what a great place cozy , great staff, near old town walkable . Great price , very clean
- 4/5
The rooms were compact but clean and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast was decent, and the front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The shower water pressure was quite weak, and the room felt poorly ventilated. Although there was a large window, the colder weather and lack of sunshine during our stay made the room feel slightly damp. Overall, it is a comfortable and conveniently located option, with a few areas that could be improved.
- 4/5
We stayed in Room 115 on the first floor. It was spacious yet comfortable. It was set up for 2 people and we had 3. Front desk was informed next day if they could accommodate us. Yes but when we got back to our room it was set up for 2, again. No earth shattering but it would have been nice to just add the 1 extra. Other than this the stay was really nice and we love the "vintage" of the Old Town Inn that fits right in with Old Town itself.
- 4/5
A nice hotel just wish it was more centrally located. Rooms were spacious and clean. Continental breakfast was ok and the staff was friendly enough.
- 5/5
I had ground level which was very convenient for me along with free parking was a plus!
- 5/5
Clean room, good breakfast, good location.
- 5/5
There were lots of choices for breakfast and the coffee was good. The room was clean , comfortable and quiet. It was very convenient for riding the trolley downtown and to Snapdragon stadium.
- 5/5
This hotel is a hidden gem! Great location - close to Old Town and the transit center. Room was exceptionally clean - bed made every day with clean towels. Very quiet with free on site parking and free breakfast. I would stay here again and highly recommend!
- 5/5
Josh was great at check in, Very professional and personable. Room was very nice and clean, Convenient location for everything in Old Town. Parking not for full size vehicles
- 4/5
Pros: Price; friendly & responsive staff, breakfast served until 10(!), in-room kitchenette, clean, all electronics worked Cons: Not the best area (but the Inn does things to mitigate unauthorized access - like a keypad on the elevator); beds were a bit hard for my liking If you are looking for a nice, basic, affordable place to stay, you need not look any further. If you are someone who needs the luxury suite...you're probably not reading this review or even considering this site. So, for those who are reading it...book your stay.
- 4/5
We stayed here and everything was clean and nicely kept. We only booked it to sleep we were mainly out during the day, but they also had a pool and customer service was good.
- 3/5
The breakfast was too crowded and had minimal items..Very basic! The door entrance to the breakfast was hard for the majority of people and I had to open it for them. The parking lot is super small and when full is very hard to maneuver your car especially in the back part of it. The main desk staff were very friendly.
- 4/5
Yes
- 4/5
Breakfast was good staff was very helpful. Only problem was in our room. The bed sheets were not clean. They did not smell or feel clean. To me that’s a very important part.
- 5/5
Room was clean and updated, trains run nearby but generally stopped around 7:30pm
- 5/5
스태프분이 친절하고 방도 깔끔하고 이틀동안 잘 지냈습니다
- 5/5
Excellent place
- 4/5
For the price and location you cannot beat it. The Midway neighborhood has always been a bit sketchy and industrial, but walking around in the day time is fine. Old Town was an easy walk, as was Rosecrans. Scott the night attendant was super nice and helpful, the others not so much. Must have cash for vending machines, as the card option doesn't work on them
- 5/5
Very accomodating
- 5/5
very confortable hotel nice staff
- 5/5
Very friendly front desk gentleman. Close proximity to airport. Had to use a taxi as no shuttle offered and at 1am didn’t want to wait on uber
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Outstanding staff. Complimentary breakfast wonderful.
- 5/5
Super clean room and nice people. It's an older palace, but well maintained with easy parking and the rooms have been updated.
- 5/5
Very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Stayed here twice I got to enjoy breakfast the second stay it was perfect all around. I will be back
- 5/5
I hope any meet in Breakfast.
- 5/5
great location
- 5/5
Beautiful properly!
- 4/5
Excellent
- 5/5
everything was great
- 4/5
Clean room, nice staff, reasonable rate. Property is in a great location, too, although the proximity to noisy train station and airport flight path might bother some.
- 5/5
Very charming hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go there again. The breakfast selection was limited
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and respectful, would stay here again
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Nice amenities for a basic, comfortable small room. The continental breakfast was very nicely laid out. A clean and pleasant stay over Thanksgiving weekend. We will return next time we are in San Diego.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast
- 3/5
- 5/5
Great staff
- 4/5
We stayed over the Thanksgiving weekend. Our room was clean and cozy. The staff were all very kind and attentive. Bathroom was clean and the bed was comfy. We were close enough to Old Town that it was walkable, but not close enough to grocery or convenience to walk. This wasn’t an issue for us, just more of an FYI for others.
- 4/5
I’d stay here again.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and neat. Service was excellent. The only complaint i have is that my room card would time out every night.
- 4/5
A couple of things could have been better: the AC in our room was quite slow, and we noticed an unusual smell each time we first entered the room.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, good breakfast choices, clean room.
- 4/5
Little bit old but really nice location and good breakfast! Deserved price.
- 5/5
20 minutes walking distance from Disneyland
- 5/5
Nice place. Very clean.
- 5/5
Nice location. The rooms could use updating. We enjoyed the breakfast and the grounds.
- 5/5
PS. The waffles were really good and you could put actual butter on them not just cheap margarine. It was delicious.
- 5/5
Staff was great, breakfast was always fresh, and clean everywhere.
- 5/5
Great value, breakfast was good with waffles , oatmeal and selection of breads and cold items. Room was clean . Building could use a little updating but well worth staying there.
- 5/5
Excellent front desk staff! We travel all the time and this person was the most organized and professional person we have had at a front desk in a long while.
- 4/5
great location to Historic Old Town. clean room. friendly & helpful desk clerk.
- 5/5
We stay here every time we're in San Diego we love it here always friendly staff and clean
- 4/5
Pillows were terrible and old and the shower head barely had any pressure making it hard to rinse the shampoo out. Other than that was a nice suite
- 5/5
- 4/5
We arrived late at night in the rain and stayed 4 nights. Warmed to it after a cold wet start. Our room had a bit of a musty smell but I assume that was from the unseasonal rain event. Clean, tidy & comfortable other than that. Nice continental breakfast. Easy access to old tiwn station. Probably not a walkable area at night but we had no issues.
- 4/5
Staff friendly
- 5/5
Easy walking distance to Old Town. The staff was super as was my clean room. I recommend this place!
- 5/5
Staff
- 5/5
Everything
- 5/5
Great, independently owned hotel adjacent to Old Town. The room was clean & comfortable, WiFi and TV worked well. Coffee & tea available 24 hrs. Breakfast was very good. Front desk and other staff were exceptional: friendly & helpful. Price was a bargain for SD. I will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, free parking, free breakfast , free WiFi, early check in!
- 5/5
I really appreciate it ! Thank you 🙏
- 4/5
Room good and staff friendly.
- 3/5
Smelled really musty and Ac did not help.
- 5/5
The room was clean. The kitchenette was great! Breakfast was a good variety! Loved the hard boiled eggs!
- 4/5
The location is good—easy access to many tourist attractions and just minutes from the airport. Plus, the room has a small kitchen, which is a great bonus.
- 5/5
Amazing staff!
- 5/5
The price was great, the location was great, the room was small, but clean and considering the room rate the breakfast was fantastic.
- 5/5
A nice motel with clean rooms and a good pool. Breakfast was great with a good variety of options. Very near the Old Town Transit centre for good bus and train connections to other areas. A short stroll into Old Town for all the restaurants and attractions there. Would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Good value. Felt safe
- 5/5
Great price for a nice clean room , hot shower and above average continental breakfast! Will return
- 4/5
Spacious, clean room. Mattress was about due for replacement but not uncomfortable. Convenient location for airport and activities in area. Only negative is that it is in a relatively noisy location.
- 5/5
Gaby was the friendliest, funniest front desk clerk we have ever had the pleasure of encountering. She deserves all the raises.
- 4/5
The room was nice. The grounds were very well maintained with beautiful plants
- 4/5
Good location
- 5/5
Check-in was easy, room comfortable and staff very welcoming. Right by the airport so I could get in-out of San Diego quickly.
- 4/5
The room was nice, the staff was very pleasant. Breakfast wasn’t what I had hoped for and the pillows were very hard, the pictures were deceptive about the size of the hotel, but the stay was very nice.

Friendly and staff and excellent service.
- 5/5
Good service, good breakfast. Short walk to Old City
- 4/5
Very pleasant Inn near Old Towne and the airport. Nice grounds. Well kept.
- 4/5
The one night stay we had here was fine. Close to the Mission area. Check in was fast and easy. Room was clean and comfortable but a bit worn. Breakfast was carb heavy which is difficult for some. Overall, was pleased with our choice.
- 5/5
Friendly courteous staff with comfortable accommodations. Pool is nice.
- 5/5
They were very cordial and professional.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, continental breafast a plus..
- 5/5
Staff there is really nice! Our stay was great!
- 3/5
Amenities better shower products. The room was a good size, large and comfortable. Staff was helpful, breakfast was ok, but it was free.
- 4/5
The bed was very comfortable! And the front desk clerk when we checked in was very friendly
- 5/5
Both the front office and housekeeping staff were amazingly nice, friendly and accommodating. They were happy and accommodating even when busy and short-staffed. The free continental breakfast was more than expected and my daughter had a really good Belgium waffle. Very close to Old Town San Diego and the trolly station. Perfect for our overnighter.
- 5/5
Wonderful property, we love the old school motel park in front of your room feel. Lovely pool area. Would definitely stay again!!!
- 5/5
Nice staff, clean room, free parking
- 4/5
- 5/5
OMG!! wonderful experience from the check in thru check out.. all the staff was awesome.. especially the guy who checked my three rooms in and the wonderful staff in the breakfast room.. the rooms were amazing. I will be back next year Dia De Los Muertos with my family!
- 3/5
Soap dispensers were empty, plus tissues only had 3 in container. For the money I spent for room and check in at 3 check out at 11 is not much time in room for what they charge.
- 5/5
Great value
- 5/5
Great place, super clean, very nice staff.
- 4/5
Breakfast was fine
- 4/5
It was a great place, just the breakfast portion needs more food options
- 4/5
The room was well designed, comfortable and clean. We appreciated the fact of its being a family business, and staff could not have been more helpful. The location is a bit of a drawback, however. Which is okay if you have a car.
- 5/5
Clean room , friendly and courteous staff
- 5/5
Coean, spacious, nice building and wonderful garden & trees
- 5/5
Easy check in, room very nice. This was my second stay here and will definitely keep it in mind of future trips here.
- 5/5
It's always a pleasure staying here. Three main things we love are the beds, FREE breakfast and FREE parking. The majority of hotels charge extra for parking and breakfast. Although the area is not the best, we have never had a problem staying here. Would stay again.
- 5/5
This was such a fun and relaxing place to stay for the couple nights that we did. It’s close by old town San Diego which was our destinations we wanted to visit and this hotel was so close by. At the end of a fun night at old town San Diego coming back to the Old Town inn was perfect. Is very quiet, peaceful and most of all comfy.
- 5/5
Room was clean, some areas needed to be fixed like striped wall paper or chipped paint, there were also ants in our room but they mainly stayed within the bathroom and sink area minus the 3 on the walls next to the bed. Other than that everything and everyone was extremely wonderful!
- 5/5
Staff very friendly.
- 5/5
Lean comfortable hotel very close to Old Town State Park
- 5/5
It was very good
- 5/5
Breakfast was super nice and fresh.
- 5/5
Will come back!
- 5/5
Breakfast gas a limited selection
- 5/5
Clean room, nice staff, pool, liked hotel- will return
- 5/5
Loved the care the hotel puts into everything - from nice touches in room to carefully tended plants and gardens, everything very clean and well taken care of.
- 5/5
Room was clean and routinely cleaned. Staff was friendly and helpful. Towels were cleaned as needed. Breakfast needed more variety for hot items other than oatmeal and waffles, most of the hard boiled eggs in the fridge were cracked. Otherwise it was fine.
- 5/5
Great location walkable to Old Town. Very well kept and the pool area is very inviting. Slept extremely well.
- 5/5
Staff is amazing. The property is a little older and there was a sewer smell coming from the faucets when water is running. Other than that, the stat was amazing. AC runs cold!
- 3/5
Disappointed in the breakfast. The room was nice enough, but I didn’t love the location being in kind of an industrial area.
- 5/5
The manager graciously allowed us to check in early, relieving us of the doubt that we would be able to arrive at a family affair on time. A very friendly and considerate man.
- 5/5
It was a great stay, no complaints! The best part is the value for your money!
- 4/5
Fun and unique hotel within walking distance to the Old Town Transit center and State Park. A bit further and access to many stores/restaurants but a little sketchy in the evening on that route. Would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
Met our needs nicely. We needed to be near MCRD so it was perfect. Welcoming could have been a little warmer/friendlier but registration itself was good. My husband and son-in-law loved the oatmeal for breakfast each morning. Had difficulty each evening with the TV but eventually got it working. Though facilities were older it was clean and our maid was sweet and efficient!
- 5/5
Staff is super friendly, the beds are pretty comfy, the AC gets quite cold. I would like for breakfast to have more choices and healthier options, most is carbs. The hotel is reasonably clean. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Very clean, excellent bed, convenient to tiwn, zoo, and Point Loma
- 5/5
Wonderful location for the old town San Diego. Only a five minute walk. Easy access onto all the major roads in and out of San Diego. A very convenient place to stay to explore the surrounding area. Staff were lovely too.
- 5/5
I liked the setting of the prop.
- 5/5
Love the service and the clean room . Free parking is a plus
- 4/5
Simple and cute, good value for the money considering it is so close to Old Town and Mission Bay. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast
- 5/5
What a cute little hidden gem in Old Town. We were in town to attend Marines graduation. A short Uber ride from the Old Town Inn and we were there.
- 5/5
The room smelled a little funky!
- 5/5
Very charming; beautiful grounds.
- 5/5
Missing remote for the TV. Front desk had replacement.
- 5/5
Amazing all around close to everywhere you want to go. Staff awesome.
- 5/5
Second time staying here. Friendly staff, clean room and grounds and quiet.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
We needed a one-night stay arriving late from a flight at the airport. This was perfect it was clean nothing fancy but really sweet staff and close to Old Town so plenty of racist rounds open up late so that we could grab a drink and some dinner when we finally checked in. Breakfast in the morning was really convenient and good
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay. Would stay again.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is close to dining and transportation.
- 5/5
Everything was very clean, it's centrally located to everything old town, seaport village and the gaslamp district. We really enjoyed our stay and will be going back!
- 4/5
The free breakfast was simple but just enough to help us get the day started.
- 5/5
Very convenient to transportation and dining.
- 5/5
Everything was great except my keys were faulty since the beginning, I never kept them near my phone but other than that , the hotel was convenient for an event nearby
- 5/5
Room needed more sound proofing since could hear voices in middle on night around and in the parking lot 3 floor down.
- 5/5
The Old Town Inn is just a touch outside of Old Town, requiring a walk that some might feel is unsafe. That said, the facility and staff are great, clearly a well taken care of place. and we enjoyed our stay enough that I extended by a day.
- 5/5
Hotel was GREAT!! Would come back again
- 1/5
We found bugs
- 5/5
- 5/5
My husband and I wanted to celebrate his birthday by doing a staycation, so we booked a room here. The room was clean and conveniently located near all the amenities that Old Town has to offer. We truly enjoy our stay!
- 5/5
I was just in and out in less than 10 hours. Room was clean, front desk people were nice, and bed was comfy (for a hotel).
- 5/5
Room was roomy, beds were clean and comfortable and bathroom was clean. Breakfast was good
- 1/5
The staff was friendly, but I was expecting the rooms to be better looking, and the smell of the space was terrible. smelled like mildew and cheap cleaner. I would never stay there again
- 5/5
It was short weekend trip, but it was very nice and comfortable place to stay. The hotel was pleasant and serene. All the staff I interacted with were very personable and friendly. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.
- 4/5
Overall, everything was good. a little disappointed with the high carb continental breakfast. Perhaps, consider some protein (eg. eggs, sausage, etc.) to be included.
- 5/5
The room was a lot better than described. Nice little bungalow with the old town park across the street. Excellent hotel if you want to save money with the park within a seven minute walk. The staff was great, will stay there again.
- 5/5
The stay was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The breakfast was fairly good. The staff was very courteous and helpful.
- 3/5
Although the parking can get full quickly and it’s not easy backing out of parking space. You pretty much get what you pay for. The room was decent
- 5/5
Great staff and very helpful. Super clean too.
- 3/5
The surrounding area is not to my liking. Industrial and highways. The hotel was fine.
- 5/5
Close to airport
- 5/5
Convient and Quiet.
- 5/5
Staff is very helpful and friendly
- 5/5
Beautiful and clean, friendly staff, convenient location. We would definitely stay there again!
- 2/5
The TV service with DirecTV was deplorable, and the location, near the railway line, was very noisy. Nowhere near the high rating given by Hotels.com. Way overpriced.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Very nice hotel and breakfast was really good. Pet friendly hotel.
- 4/5
Breakfast is as one expects in these situations, but it’s decent coffee and enough healthy options to get by. Nice pool and the lobby is unexpectedly cozy and welcoming and the staff were all gracious and helpful. Old Town is just across the tracks from here, but not a particularly easy walk. All things considered, this will be our go to when heading to SD for a quick weekend.
- 5/5
Excellent base for traveling.. had our own car and areas we wished to visit were close and convenient. Free continental breakfast was great to start our day.
- 5/5
Great stay, clean.
- 5/5
Great breakfast
- 5/5
Friendly staff, breakfast included, and a nice pool area. Great location, close to Mission Beach, the boardwalk, and lots of restaurants, about a 10–15 min drive. Overall, a comfortable spot for a quick getaway.
- 5/5
Great Services from all employee's, facilities very clean,
- 5/5
Great breakfast. Really enjoyed the pool. Always an easy park
- 4/5
It was a nice stay and the breakfast is great. Many options for breakfast and very clean.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent
- 3/5
All that being said, my compliments to the staff who were all very helpful.
- 3/5
Arrived @ 5:00 PM. Young lady at desk was not friendly and appeared as if we were disturbing her time. Will not return.
- 4/5
Our only complaint was that the pillows had a funky odor. I couldn't tell if the odor came from the pillow cases or from the actual pillows. Whichever it was, that was gross.
- 5/5
The employees were professional and kind and friendly, clean, inviting and safe
- 5/5
It was convenient and close to the trolley.
- 5/5
It was a cool old vintage motel on PCH, but that is a super part of its charm. Well-maintained and modern updates.
- 5/5
This was a great place. Very quaint and cozy. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
We loved this quiet, clean inn and will return next time we are in San Diego
- 5/5
It Was great! When we just took the room I realized the coffeemaker didn't work but they replaced it immediately.
- 4/5
It is an older hotel, so the room kind of smelled like it. The bed was very comfortable. Got a good nights sleep and didn’t wake up with a backache, which a plus for us. Seemed clean other than a few large stains on the carpet.
- 5/5
Breakfast was easy and staff was great. Bed was comfortable
- 5/5
Great pool, very friendly staff
- 5/5
Love this place, staff is friendly, place is well kept and it’s nice and quiet.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, close to airport, walked to old town, good breakfast, clean rooms, nice pool, everything was great
- 2/5
Too expensive for what it offers.
- 5/5
It's a great place to stay except for the room that I was in 128.It's closest to the street and it's kind of noisy. There's also a light that shines directly. To our room doesn't make it for a good night sleep sometimes.
- 3/5
Clean property. Comfortable bed. Nice staff.
- 5/5
Busy weekend with guests, every parking spot filled by 11pm. Its a great location for multiple tourist/events, train station, walking distance to many venues! We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Used the pool, ate @ the continental breakfast, it was very clean & simple choices.
- 4/5
Great room with kitchenette.
- 3/5
Overpriced since it was Comic-Con that weekend and definitely not worth it. The room was rundown and the carpets were incredibly filthy we could not walk in the room without shoes. Dingy lighting and the room was so hot and muggy when we entered. Would not stay here again.
- 4/5
Breakfast options were somewhat limited. Staff was incredible! Beds were comfortable. Good amount of towels and pillows.
