Switched our room twice because of bed bugs and dirtiness.

The parking lot needs more lighting, and the outside of the buildings arent the cleanest. The interior room floors were dirty, and the room smells like mold

Not happy with our stay. Loud AC, cold showers, dogs barking, open wall plates-electrical wires and more.

Horrific experience. The staff and manager where the worst part about it. They dont communicate with each other so you hear something from one staff member then yhe complete opposite from the next staff member. Manager (amara/amaria) was extremely unprofessional, could care less of the documents we had proving payment in full and dates paid for, still refused a room then thought she would try and kick us out of office for continuing to provide all payment receipts.

The guy renting the room next to ours, opened the interior connecting door on their side and started tapping on my interior door to get us to open it. My adult son told him no. A few minutes later he was knocking on our exterior door. We contacted the office and security responded very quickly. They let them know that was inappropriate and within minutes they were evicted. Office staff and security were very helpful in the situation, and because there were no other units available, they gave us a complete refund.

The check in person was very nice & polite. The property is kept up. The bed was great, really comfortable. The room was clean other than the floor. I wore socks while in the room & they were really dirty on the bottom after I took them off so I had to throw them away. I swiped the floor with my finger thereafter & realized the floor was dirty. I was glad about their dog policy. It is a plus for us dog lovers who like to take our dog on trips. The area the motel is in was not bad but there were some shady people hanging around in the parking lot, especially later in the eve. I saw a crackhead talking to herself and homeless people hanging around in the parking lot so you just have to be careful.

maintain your room while you’re out. And the beds are uncomfortable as they move to much and are loud. Also Rooms have no iron so you’re unable to iron your clothes. Overall I will not be staying here again.

Homeless people in the hallways, one asked for my room key when we were heading to checkout so he could use the room and shower. NO! My kids were scared to even go in the hallway. Only good thing I can say is that they didn't have bed bugs. Definitely will NOT stay again.

It was close to Sea World, few minutes away. Good place to get to know the city and go to sleep. Refrigerator was of great help. Difficult time using google maps to get in there, we made it the third attempt. It gives the impression of insecurity, but everything went fine. Basic room but it was ok for the price. No microwave in the room and noisy airconditionning.

6 inch crack in our tub. No shampoo, conditioner or lotion. Told the front desk 3 times we needed clean towels and finally that evening we were told we could come down and get them. Last time staying there

Ok for the one night but, also expensive for what it is. Needs a huge refurbishment. Convenient off the fwy but no food nearby either so, bring with you. Maybe HoJo's across the hwy would be a better option...?

Not even the parking lot! Service , place , smelled bad , a lot of people that didn't look like people that were traveling with family, messy place not safe for family at all. Showers don't work, sinks don't work clogged. Receptionist VERY RUDE !!!

The room was dirty. We didn’t want to walk around barefoot. Multiple cigarette burns on the floor and in the sheets. Definitely will not be going back.

Cool for what I needed for a night.

The outage has prevented me from being able to log onto my computer and work, which has been extremely disruptive. The staff members I spoke with seemed unsure of what to do and were unable to offer any meaningful assistance or accommodation. On top of that, there are a large number of homeless individuals around the property, which made the environment feel uncomfortable and unsafe at times. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience, especially for a stay that was supposed to support working remotely.

Charged for early check in, did not get to check in early, shower head broken and leaking, bugs , lights in the room were out bulb needed replacing, front door has a huge crack.

When i asked the front desk, the receptionist refused to talk to me and held me accountable for the rooms mess, and then threatened to call the cops on me. We did not stay for our 3 days and received No refund at all.

I like how it was right off the freeway. These are live in units. So people are staying 30 plus days in these rooms so the upkeep of them are low and the amenities don’t work. Both rooms I went to had broken acs and you can tell the couch in the room where the table is was all cut up and worn down like it hasn’t had a deep cleaning in a while. And since people live in these you would think they would clean better. I’ve been to plenty of motel 6’s and this was by far the worst one.

The room and location were just as good as you would expect from a motel 6. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done

The mattress was so bad we left the evening before our checkout date and drove 2 hours home instead of spending another highly uncomfortable night.

On the second day, there were cockroaches in the bathroom and we found a spider in our bed. Hotel smells a lot of marijuana and there were a lot of "interesting" characters wandering around the property. Would not recommend for families with younger kids. The front desk staff were nice and helpful however.

This was probably the worst hotel or motel I’ve ever stayed at. For get about the fact that I think it’s drug motel it’s dirty outside as well as inside. I saw roaches in the hallway. The worst part was us trying to use the shower in the morning to leave and there was no water pressure at all. After calling the front desk and an hour later of back and forth they finally gave us keys to another room to shower. But instead of giving us a clean room they made us shower in a dirty room where someone had just checked out. The very worst experience for sure.

I never stay in any Motel 6's..because of the amenities..I stay there cause it will have a shower and bed..that's it..and it will be inexpensive...now this property seemed to be under new owners...the outside of property is very well lit..I think cause their are alot of shady characters walking around..being next to freeway, is also a little noisy...now the pool is large and plenty of chairs to relax on..the location is really why you stay here tho..very centralized to everything in San Diego...Malls, Zoos, restaurants, Sea World. Mission Bay...You can Uber anywhere..everything is 10 mile radius from each other..

Stuff for all their a friend knew the rooms were clean AC worked, but the wound did get a little bit hot. We are staying as soon as I checked in the water and all the rooms were turned off because there was a flood that happened in a few of the other rooms I got turned on about 2 to 4 hours later and it was OK. They did waive the deposit fee because of the inconvenience.

If you want great customer service clean room all the towels and washcloths and supplies that you need at a great price go to this motel 6 I had the most pleasant one night experience and the next time I'm in San Diego I will be returning

My TV kept going off so I wasn’t able to watch TV a whole lot. I had burn marks the size of a regular saucer bowl by the main sink and also in the restroom the AC/heater didn’t really perform at all. No, I’m not one to really complain about things, but I mean if you wanna up your game you’re gonna have to start making sure that these things are cool because everybody wants to watch TV. Everybody wants to run the heating and air-conditioning unit and nobody really wants black marks the size of a saucer bowl by the main sink or anywhere even in the room and I had them both places also by the bathroom or in the bathroom I like staying at the spot, but I did not like this room. This room was the worst one I’ve ever had. It was room 111.

It’s location was OK The staff was very friendly very understanding I do understand they are not the owners just the staff. Although one of them tried to argue with me and tell me there weren’t any homeless on the property. I know what I encountered in the doorway to get into the hallway to get into the rooms. Let’s start off with what I was told on the phone is not what happened when I got there. I was not going to battle the homeless on their bicycles in the doorway trying to get up to our room, or the homeless that were in the parking lot around the cars! I can’t tell you what the room look like because we never entered the room or the hallway It’s a shame because this Motel 6 could be a really nice location, but I have a feeling that they take the hotel vouchers from the county like many other low performing hotels do in order to keep in business. Booking.com really needs to remove this hotel from their platform.! I received a refund drove down the street to the Doubletree at Hilton! Obviously it wasn’t about the cost of the room. I’ve always had good luck with the Motel 6. Just not this Motel 6!

First of all, the room was supposed to be a non smoking room but it smelled heavily of smoke. Mattress was squeaky and uncomfortable. The door was hard to close and lock. Police and EMS kept showing up on the premises for one reason or another.

I would not come back to thus hotell. The hallway and stair well smells like piss and puke. The room had a couple pieces of trash in it under the night stand and the tub had no way of stopping the water except for a wash rag. I ended up filling up 3 times in 15 to 20 minutes so I wasted a bunch of water.

While it was the cheapest available at the time, it was still around $160 for the night—far from acceptable for the conditions offered. Like many guests, I was willing to tolerate the environment—people loitering around the parking lot, visible safety concerns, and overall poor conditions—because I needed a place to stay. However, what is not acceptable at any price point is the complete lack of basic hospitality, professionalism, and respect for guests. Around 9 PM, I went to the front desk to extend my stay. I was clearly instructed to book an additional night under the same room type so I could remain in the same room. I confirmed this multiple times to avoid any issues the following day and was reassured everything had been updated in the system. The next day, around noon, while I was still in my room, housekeeping knocked rapidly and immediately began opening the door without waiting. I had no time to react. This is a serious breach of privacy and completely unacceptable. When I addressed this in the room, instead of receiving a simple apology, I was interrupted, dismissed, and spoken over. The staff member insisted I needed to check out and that it “wasn’t in the system,” without acknowledging the mistake or the way the situation was handled. After that, I went downstairs to the front desk to resolve the issue. My key cards had stopped working, and I explained that I had already extended my stay the night before with the front desk employee and simply needed access to my room. I also raised concerns about how the situation had just been handled. At that point, the same housekeeping employee appeared behind the front desk and continued the confrontation. Her behavior escalated—raising her voice, pointing at me, and making unfounded accusations about my behavior, while insisting it was not her responsibility because the system had not been updated.

Nothing I did not stay here, my roommwas not available. I am very grateful since there were people hanging out getting high. It was a terrible look. Did not feel safe for my family.

Don’t stay more than 1 night

The staff was nice. That is all there was to like. Rooms were disgustingly dirty and hadn't been cleaned, especially the floors. Beds were not comfortable. No shampoo or conditioner provided, ANYWHERE. HOOKERS IN THE PARKING LOT AND PEOPLE DOING DRUGS!

Felt like a $150 a night crack house or homeless shelter. First room a/c was loud and inefficient, next room after change was below average, and sounded like a stampede above us through the night, all night. Doesn’t appear that motel 6 has a light to leave on!

Stayed for one night with my dog. Room felt dirty, towels had hairs on them. Didn't feel comfortable to even take a shower. sketchy area, random people hang out on the steps talking loud late. Bed looked like it was due for replacement.

The location was spot on and the price was great too. Couldn't connect to free Wi-Fi, the beds were uncomfortable and the room was not very clean. The bathroom floor was mushy and the carpet in the hall was filthy the entire time. Like no one works on the 4th floor. Not enough towels.

For just a place to sleep for the night, we liked nearby restaurants. We chose Old Towne San Diego Park and were not disappointed. Our room smelled of cigarettes. And for the 1st time I didn't bring any shampoo and conditioner, normally the hotels include these, not this place (I should have known better).

There was plenty of parking even tho motel was full. The parking area and the pool area were clean. The air conditioner worked ok. The fridge provided in the room was clean and worked well. The rooms apparently have not been renovated in some time, but the furnishings were comfortable.

The A/C worked fine. The room looks like it's been remodeled recently by someone without a contractors license. Bathroom door barely closed and when opened got caught on a raised portion of the floor. Hotel room doors don't just seem to let in noise from the hallway but applify it. TV studered the entire time we watched it. The worst part by far was the parking lot, people outside yelling at all hours of the night. Crack spoons on the ground. Homeless camped out nearby. Once it got dark we didn't leave the room at all. I would not stay at this hotel again even if it was free. I understand motel 6 is a budget place to stay but they should be ashamed to have this place in there hotel network.

We arrived well past check in time. The line to check in was out the door. We were told our room was ready. We went to our room and found bags of the previous stays garbage scattered around the room, trash all over the floor, diarrhea spray around toilet, a fetid smell in the room, ripped and filthy rugs, etc. We realize that Motel 6 is economy lodging and adjust our expectations accordingly. However, we draw the line at blatantly unsanitary conditions. We complained and left after Benjamen, the manager, promised a refund. Later on, both the Motel and Travelocity refused to refund our payment.

We were put in a room that wouldn't even qualify as basic. Had to walk over trash and a heavy heavy stink of pot smoke. the elevator was broken, the room didn't have the basics of ample towels, there was no soap and no shampoo, but that didn't matter, there wasn't hot water either. The hallway had a constant wet puddle to avoid. There were multiple screaming shouting fights, there were people yelling and screaming, with what sounded like a dog attack, TWICE, one time at 3:15 am!!!! AVOID THIS DISASTER AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!

The staff barely even greeted me at check in and check out. The door used to access the rooms, which requires a key was unlocked for anyone to enter. The room smelled like cigarette smoke but claimed they were non-smoking room. Upon check out the only elevator stopped working and I had to carry my 5 month old daughter down the stairs in her stroller along with all my luggage. Definitely do not recommend staying here.

Showing that the phone wasnt cleaned all. The bed has hair and i dodnt even lay on it yet. The room that i stayed in didnt even have a fridge or a microwave at least. Worst place to stay

We ended up leaving right after seeing the condition of the room and motel. What made it 100% impossible that I would stay there is that there was no way I was going to sleep in the sheets with someone else's short & curlies. We went to the nearby Hilton and spent more than triple the rate and I was happy to pay the extra $800+ for 2 rooms for 2 nights just to have a clean room.

The bathtub had a used bar of soap in it so it was clearly not cleaned. Also the beds were not changed. Also it would have been nice to have a microwave or even a coffee pot. Also the hair dryer was missing.

The beds were not comfortable at all. They were sunken in on certain areas. The floor all over the hotel room was disgusting and I had to wipe it down just to feel comfortable enough walk around in sandals. If I could leave 0 stars I would.

They did not give me the room I picked or anything closer to it, they gave me a horrible one, smelling like a mix of dry milk, marihuana and cigarette, people were smoking marihuana in front of the rooms, the whole experience was horrible

Bed was not made on Friday. Housekeeper didn’t knock and proceeded to come into the room in the morning. However I had the latch on. When I got up to unlatch the door, housekeeper did not acknowledge he can come in. Instead he quickly turned the corner with the cart in tow. He did see me but waved his hand. I don’t believe he spoke English. In the afternoon, another housekeeper came by, saw me through the window and didn’t bother coming in. So I never got fresh line or towels. This is the first time it’s happened at this motel. I’ve used them 3 times before with 0 issues. Also the bed needs to be replaced as it’s past its wear and tear. I forgot to mention, on my check in, I reserved a nonsmoking room. Even though the room had a no smoking sticker, the room stunk from heavy cigarette smoke. The smell hits you before you even opened the door. I was then given the adjoining room, which was ok.

When I got up to unlatch the door, housekeeper did not acknowledge he can come in. Instead he quickly turned the corner with the cart in tow. He did see me but waved his hand. I don’t believe he spoke English. In the afternoon, another housekeeper came by, saw me through the window and didn’t bother coming in. So I never got fresh line or towels. This is the first time it’s happened at this motel. I’ve used them 3 times before with 0 issues. Also the bed needs to be replaced as it’s past its wear and tear. I forgot to mention, on my check in, I reserved a nonsmoking room. Even though the room had a no smoking sticker, the room stunk from heavy cigarette smoke. The smell hits you before you even opened the door. I was then given the adjoining room, which was ok.

Also mission valley flooded and the whole parking lot was completly flooded had to swim in nasty water to get to our vehicle. Last but certainly not least the room above us had changos jumping and fighting and we were scared those mayateros were gonna start shooting so my friend left to sleep in his car outside Jack in the box since he felt so unsafe.

Our room had to change due to , Condom wrapper in garbage , blood on shower curtain and wall, only 2towels, white stains all over the blankets , moving to our second room , 1 towel , air conditioner sounded like a landing plane , marijuana smells ,no working tv remote door kept jamming and not closing , elevator was scary ,the entire building smelled like black mold , this was the worst experience and it ruined my trip , and due to the time I did not want to run around at night for a new room , the parking lot was not safe and the outside door had no lock , due to it being in mission beach I thought it would be nice , but it was a slumlord experience

Compared to other motel 6 properties we have stayed at, this was probably the bottom of the barrel: an older renovation, and there were cigarette burns and surfaces, chipping, and stains in various places, and the air conditioner was horrible, the vents were thick with grime and it sounded like a tractor starting and stopping all night. The front desk said "they are all like that." The floor looked clean, however after walking, barefoot for a few minutes, the bottom of our feet were black. I don't think anyone ever used the pool, as it is right next to a freeway and very unpleasantly loud. they need to pay more attention to the condition of the rooms. They seemed really understaffed, and only clean the room upon request.

This hotel was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. I retired from the Intercontinental group after 30 years so we thought we would come to San Diego. They were sold out of the Intercontinental downtown that I worked out and help opened was full. The gentleman who checked me in was rude and the woman that worked after him I should say girl Was the worst. They don’t know anything about their jobs. They don’t know anything about the hotel or how to pick up a broom I will never stay at a motel six again.

So dirty. The stairs, hallways are horrid! Our door looked like the cops used a crowbar on the door.

I thought motel 6 was hit or miss, but that’s on me and I should know better. We travel with our dogs so I keep trying them out. I thought based on how many other hotels are in the area this one might be alright. The room was dirty, the floor gave me k mart feet walking from the shower to the bed. The mattress looked like it was sitting on random pieces of wood as the frame. The Wi-Fi didn't work. In general it was horrible. The receptionist was extremely nice and I got a refund for the remainder of my trip after that first night so that was pretty tight. I don’t really fault the staff, I blame myself for staying at a Motel 6 again. BUT I must warn against any man that has a family and thinks this might be a suitable place for them. If your girl don’t leave you after bringing her here, she’s got some kind of evil secrets…

The ac made noises like it was going to break down at any moment. It smelled like as* randomly all the time. The refrigerator smelled bad but was functional. Next to a busy Highway, but I knew this. AC worked great, it was clean and cheaper than other hotels close to downtown, old town, and beach. BAD STUFF: A lot of homeless and shady people around hotel. Bed was like an Old Spring Mattress that had flat spots/worn springs and really uncomfortable. Then the room would rumble literally every 10-15 minutes by some type of equipment. I thought it was someone playing a loud car system but nope, never figured out what it was - I DID NOT SLEEP VERY WELL AT ALL!!!

It’s a good option for a 1 night stay but it’s honestly very outdated & the furniture has a lot of wear&tear. It’s not very clean either. Front desk clerk was very nice. Good location, but yeah very very outdated and not very clean.

On top of that, the rate was not cheap since it was the weekend, which made the experience even more disappointing. Overall, the hotel was dirty, unpleasant, and poorly managed. I would never stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone.

Not so great were the loose dogs and homeless people in the parking lot. I call the nonemergency police #, and they said they had been ordered to ignore problems at this hotel. That's terrible because it has such a great location and their newly remodeled rooms are so nice.

I got to the hotel. It was too dirty and too smelly to stay in. They gave me the money back at the hotel but you took money too. How does that happen? It was the Motel 6 and I would like to have my money back, you need to contact me so that I can get it back I would never Recommend your website in a lifetime. If you do not make good on what you did and not giving my money back that night is when I needed it.

It’s just loud. It’s the convenience of location that is appealing. Nothing else. Just free coffee in the morning.

Worst stay of our trip. Bed’s uncomfortable. Grounds dirty. Felt unsafe due to homeless population hanging around the property. Had to get new key cards almost daily due to them not working. Elevator was questionable at best. Front desk staff not helpful. Just overall bad experience

The front desk folks were great. Efficient. Friendly. The room was fine. Clean and functional. The issue is with the building itself (the tower). Elevator, frame around elevator, and carpet on third floor were a disgrace. Carpet obviously worn out and badly stained. Paint peeling around elevator. It gives you a feeling of dread as you approach your room, which was ok.

There were only two negatives in an otherwise very standard and comfortable stay. 1) There was no elevator in the building our room was in. The front desk staff informed us, but gave no explanation for why there was no elevator. It was more difficult than I anticipated hauling our luggage up the staircase. If I had known, I would have requested to be on the ground floor or in a different building. 2) The TV didn't work. When I say that, understand that I'm talking about the connection/channels NOT the physical TV set. The actual TV set seemed perfectly fine, it just kept showing the message "Not Connected". Modern reception area. Friendly and professional staff. Accommodated my request for the quietest room available. Renovated room. Very clean. Towels and sheets were white but didn't smell bleached. Slight strange odor in bed, possible blanket needed to be washed. Loved the 3 Pillows, perfect for a side sleeper. Mostly quiet. Considering location right next to 8 Fwy, so occasional loud speeders zooming by in the middle of night. Overall stay was Very Good.

This motel 6 is a box with 2 beds and a tv... There was nothing provided besides two bars of soap, not even a "do not disturb" sign or shampoo or conditioner or even a hair dryer. Shocking that it is priced the way it is... The hallways and elevator were dirty and poorly maintained in the "tower building".. I know motel 6 is budget, as I have stayed in many before; however, this has been the worst by far.

The first two nights they didn’t have our room that we reserved on hotel.com. Then we went to the front desk and asked for the amenities we were supposed to have and for some reason they showed us in a different room which was to be the room we were supposed to be in the first day. So there was that. The hotel staff were all great.

Girl at the check in was super friendly and helpful!! The hotel itself was terrible. Hallways smelled like urine and cigarettes. There were people grilling outside their room door. Saw two vehicles windows bashed in the following morning. Will never stay here again.

Check in was great but after that the hotel was dirty the carpet in the hallway was covered in stains, room was some what clean.. Bathtub had sand in the bottom of it. The elevator had a hole at the entrance of the door.. So many people walking around at night screaming in the hallway and dogs barking.. I was in town for the marathon and I wanted to do late check out so I could shower after the race. I asked for this at check in, was told I could, and confirmed that they would not charge a fee for it. I got back from the race and was locked out of my room. Went to the desk to deal with the issue and they let me back in. While I was in the shower, the cleaning lady walked in because she hadn’t been told the room was still occupied. I left and was later charged $30 for that late check out. Tried to reach out for a refund and got NO RESPONSE. You’re better off in a tent. Avoid this place completely.

Worse expierence ive ever had in a hotel: the hallways, carpet were extremely dirty, filty smelled like feces, urine, drugs, weed, dark stains on carpet. A lot of homeless in the halls. The evevator was the same: Water on the hallway and the luanderomat where ppl walked. A Dogbran into my room without consent fr next room. Loud, not peacefull.fridfge had water leaked onto the room floor and was wet all the time used towes to keep it dry. WOrj
