Checking in was great- choice of room was ready. Clean and spacious. Large shower with newer showerhead. Pets stay free- always a plus. Ice, vending and laundry are conveniently located by the pool. Comments noted in other reviews were the scent of the cleaning products used, yes, they were strong, but did fade. Air traffic noise is going to be obvious due to the location.... bring earplugs. Otherwise, this was a very nice Motel 6!

I stayed in room 220. Throughout the night, every 2–3 hours, there was an extremely loud noise that sounded like a machine operating. The noise repeatedly woke me up and prevented me from getting any rest. To make matters worse, there was also a cockroach in the room. The location of the hotel is excellent and very convenient, which is the main reason I chose to stay here, as I had an early morning flight and needed to be close to the airport. I have stayed at this hotel several times before, usually in rooms on the first floor, and I have never experienced any issues.

I was pleasantly surprised by this motel. The room was modern, very clean, and spacious, with plenty of room for luggage and a nicely updated bathroom. The surrounding area felt safe and much more pleasant than at some other airport motels I have stayed at. Despite some of the reviews I had read beforehand, my experience was very positive, and I found the motel to offer excellent value for money. As expected for an airport motel, aircraft taking off and landing can be heard from the room. However, air traffic decreases significantly later in the evening, so it was not a major issue for me. During my stay, there was also a large construction project next to the property, and the work continued quite late into the night, creating a lot of noise. Unfortunately, this was beyond the motel’s control.

Of letting customers know about construction on property and that a runway is right over hotel would not have stayed there

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. Upon check-in, I was charged an additional fee for early check-in. Later, some family members briefly came by to drop off luggage before their flight that evening and were not planning to stay at the hotel. However, the front desk staff repeatedly confronted us regarding the number of people in the room, even after only four guests remained. The situation became extremely uncomfortable and felt unnecessarily hostile. Staff members entered the room to inspect it and even requested that we open the bathroom door to verify no additional guests were present. I found this behavior invasive and unprofessional. In addition, the room itself was not in acceptable condition. The sheets had holes in them, the room appeared unclean, and there was no hot water available during our stay. Due to the ongoing harassment and uncomfortable atmosphere, I decided to leave the hotel around 7 PM. While waiting outside for our Uber, one staff member continued staring at us, which only added to the discomfort of the experience. Overall, I found the staff’s conduct unprofessional and the accommodations unacceptable. I will be submitting a formal complaint regarding this experience.

Arrived at 1 pm and Thomas at the front desk scammed me by charging me $20 in cash for early check in. Tried paying by credit card but he said his machine wasn’t working. No receipt and he left the $20 setting there until I left. He didn’t take a deposit because he would have needed to reveal that his credit card machine wasn’t working working

Super close to airport (we walked from where car rental shuttle dropped us off to get to hotel). Road was being fixed so no sidewalk access near the hotel.

Service with staff was courteous and welcoming queries were handled professionally, I am very satisfied.

The location and cleanliness Rooms are very basic, as expected of course. Pillows are no comfortable at all.

I mean it is what it is it’s a motel 6. On booking.com it said you can leave your pets in the room by themselves but just not for too long. When I got there the staff was like OHH NOO you cannot leave your dog in the room by themselves for ANY amount of time so I had to every single time I just walked out of the room for a minute had to bring my dog it was frustrating. Also there were multiple burn holes in the blankets and the sink in the bathroom smelled like sewage it was really gross.

parking was ample, ac was good the bedside lights didnt work, the water its too hot needs to be turned down to temperature where it wont burn anyone, some of the interior wasnt clean enough, the touch up painting is poor, the tv worked fine, the bed was good, the pool was the best part of the hotel, the noise from the airplanes dissapeared once i fell sleep thats something you should disclosed, anyway to summet allup i loved being close to little italy, and for the dollar its not a bad deal just to sleep, mahalo.....

Room was clean and neat, surrounding area quite noisy. When checking in I found out that water was shutoff to the motel. Wish Motel 6 let me know of this, prior to check-in, as I would have made other arrangements.

It was a nice enough room no complaints on the cleanliness and the staff was very helpful and polite. The area that the hotel was in was a bit sketchy, I traveled solo as a single woman I didn't feel very safe especially because I didn't have my own transportation.

I had a great overall experience with both the evening staff and the morning staff.

This hotel is affordable, but it is literally right next to the airport so it is a bit noisy. The property is quite old, but they do try to maintain it the best they can. Once again, this hotel was affordable.

This motel needs a face lift. Adding some color to the walls would go a long way. All white rooms look so drab. The flooring on the 2nd floor walkway needs to be painted, and the front lobby is one of the plainest and depressing i,ve ever seen. Motel 6 used to be good. Now they're expensive and drab.

Better than expected the room smelled like it had been recently cleaned . The interior was decent modern not outdated. The AC worked great and it wasn't noisy. The planes due fly in consistently but doesn't affect unless your a light sleeper. The area is isolated but very near metro and tourist areas . Don't go by the reviews some are just not true or had a bad day for whatever karen reason. It not a Hilton but it definitely not a mala muerte = cheap motel. It good for a few days I stayed 3 and it was perfect. Price was a little high but I guess it because I went during spring break and they provide warm coffee in morning wish they provided snack or other amenities for the price. No homless in area though back walkway is sketchy.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The king bed was comfortable and we had a balcony. Our room had plenty of space. The staff was kind and the room was clean except for the floor. I had to wipe the floor and the towel was black. The airplanes land minutes from the property. The noise is terrible if you are outside. It wasn’t too bad in the room.

omg - I was looking for the closest hotel to the airport to catch a nap during a 12 hr layover - this place was nothing like the photos on the website. Super sketchy part of town, sketchy guests, leaking roof over walk way. 2" gaps beneath the doors!!!

The staff name Joe that greeted us during check in was so personable funny and made the whole interaction and checking in process so smooth.

Business facilities were adequate. The only thing I did not like was the $60 extra fee. I didn't find out about it until I was checking in. Now I have to wait 5-7 days to get it back.

Ok, budget hotel. Location is great. Clientelle sketchy at times. They need to mop the floors in the rooms. Other than that its a quick stay on a road trip worthy.

Minutes from Old Town, minutes from Seaport, minutes from the USS Midway, minutes from Coronado Island, minutes from the Gaslamp Quarter and Balboa Theatre where we saw a show. We were so so pleased with the convenient central location. The bed was among the comfiest motel or hotel beds I've ever slept on. The room had a mini fridge but no microwave. There was a communal microwave for guest use in the laundry room, along with a couple of vending machines. But do be aware that the motel is situated directly under the flight path for planes landing at the San Diego airport, and the runway they are heading for begins one block down on the other side of the street. So when they come over the motel on their descent, they are almost close enough to touch. They seemed to fly over every 2-3 minutes: busy airport I guess! This didn't bother me as I sleep with earplugs regardless of where I am, including at home. But if you're a light sleeper, you may want to take this fact into consideration. As always, we love that dogs stay free! The planes didn't bother me so I'd 100% book this place again.

Didn’t even make it into the parking lot without the desk, clerk coming out yelling at me telling me I couldn’t park my truck which was an F450 in there because it was too big even though there were plenty of parking spots. My wife was on the phone with me and heard him berate me and tell me to leave And that he could refuse service to me. Worst hotel experience of my adult life.

Room was quite clean. Staff was great. Room 228 door is either wrong size door or frame is not plumb. Right side of door has a good inch of open space between the bottom of it and the frame. Room must have been recently renovated because there was a couple spots on walls where new paint was very light or not there. Fan in bathroom was not working for my stay. The bed was hands down the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on at a any Motel 6, cudos for whoever chose that type of bed. Will stay there again.

They did not have a microwave anywhere. I didn't see the lack of it in reviewing the room, and not even 1 in a common area. You couldn't make even a cup of tea. For what did i pay? It was beyond basic, with the towels stacked on top of the toilet, yet the bathroom had space to put a towel rack. I couldn't use those on my body. The room had water on the floor like they just sprayed it down before i had access. I saw a roach in the early morning befoe daybreak. They have a sign saying to tip the cleaning staff. For what? What did they do? I had not ssen a cleaning staff even once in 2 days. The man who check me in was very pleasant and welcoming. That is the best i can say about that place. I will sleep in the rented car somewhere before i ever use that place ever again. Single handedly the worst place i have ever been.

The room was clean and comfortable. When. Entered the room the curtain had fallen. I called front desk and within 3 minutes Michael was there and fixed it. The man at the front desk secured me a Uber and stayed with me until it arrived. I walked there from a bus stop at 9pm and I felt very safe.

Room was okay until i found some bugs. Didnt want to be disturbed but they have some weird rule they have to look at the room on the 3rd day. Flights can be heard but i had no issues at night. Felt like they stopped like at 10 pm. Good place just to have a room it your not spending your days there. But if you are find a better room.

I stayed Sunday and checked Monday, today is Friday and I haven't gotten my deposit back. The room looked clean until I took my shoes and socks off and my feet got dirty and was sticking to the floor.

Additionally, the television was non-functional, displaying only a single infomercial channel in Spanish, and could not be changed. The air conditioning was also inadequate; although the unit indicated it could go as low as 60°F, the room never cooled below 75°F, making for an uncomfortable stay. Overall, while I did not expect luxury accommodations, a minimum standard of cleanliness and basic amenities functioning as advertised would have made a significant difference.

We got to the hotel at 2:30 hoping to snag a room early. Luckily the very nice lady at the desk said ours wasnt, but she did have one we could take. Great!! Check in was smooth, no issues. Got to the room and it wreaked horribly bad of whatever cleaner had been used. As if i had been dumped on every surface. Room was clean, beds made. None of the plugs in the bathroom worked. No clue where the tv remote was. Very noisy location, upstairs guest ran laps all night and early am there was a ton of people outside of the room talking very loudly.

Wasn’t up to typical Motel 6 standards. We had two rooms. One was decent, the second was in very poor condition. There was a graffiti plexiglass window right outside the door. Light fixture over the bed appeared to be hanging and not secured properly to the ceiling. Both nightstands had unsightly damage on them. Air conditioner was noisy/rattly as well as the fan in the restroom. I can’t speak on all the rooms, but this room definitely needs an overhaul. Surprised it would be rented in the condition it was in honestly. Check-in experience wasn't the best either. I booked and paid for both rooms. My cousin unfortunately misplaced his ID in route and they wouldn't allow us to check-in to the second room. Expedia called directly and still they were resistant. Had to have a relative come over with their ID to checkin to the second room. Icing on the cake, my aunt and her daughter booked at the Hyatt on the same date. My aunt had booked and paid for both rooms, checked in for both and was given keys for both and her daughter hadn't arrived yet! Finding this out made this experience all the more frustrating.

The gentleman at the counter to check in was very rude! I lost my ID but have it on my phone but he wouldn’t let me check in. I had to call a friend and change my reservation to her name. It was a mess especially driving 6 hours to get here.

The man who checked us in was very rude and not helpful when I saw saw him be nice to another person but was complete opposite how he helped me

Room and bed smelled bad, stains on bed spread, very noisy with trains and planes- hotel directly in flight path. Only vending machines for food and drink.

This was the worst hotel I have ever been in. We arrived at midnight due to flight delays and had it been any earlier we would not have stayed even one night. The entire room had sticky dirty floors and surfaces. It smelled so bad of pee. I wouldn't allow my son to use the bathroom because it was so dirty. The beds had stains on them. None of the outlets worked. I put all of out clothes and shoes in a trash bag because I was very very afraid of bed beds based on the condition of the room. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Good for the price and will return but with earplugs. Planes overhead all night long.

The room overall was pretty nice and clean. Only thing I'd say would be fixing would be the shower door as the alert door in my room won't stay closed and would slide open. Overall a good stay

The room had a horrible sewer like stench, it never went away, the sheets were small, they didn’t cover the whole mattress which was exposed.

The staff we met were bored and not overly helpful or friendly. There was no coffee in the morning, just messy remains. Nothing in the room to make tea or coffee. The whole experience was a sad Spartan affair. It's a shame because it's a fantastic site, USS Midway, Little Italy, airport and interstate all nearby. All it needs to make it a great place is a few pictures in the rooms, a few more plants and some enthusiasm.

I did not like the noise from the airport landing.

I checked in and when I got to the room i looked at the bedding first, there was poopoo on the blanket, I called the desk and they gave me a new blanket but the sheets were still stained ! I took them all off because I travel with my own sheets! There was a car in the lot for all three days blocking another spot to park, it never moved even when I told the front desk! The windows were open and the hood was partially open! Like it didn’t belong there. There was black long hairs on my bed and in the shower on the faucet area, I don’t have black hair at all, my hair is grey, paint was chipped off in several Areas and grey paint was all over the white paint, like they didn’t care if it went on the white paint

Wonderful Staff

It is so easy and close to Middletown Trolley, a little noisy, but I get used to it quickly. The Blue Line will take you to the Border.

The hotel stay wasn’t bad at all. It was pretty cheap money wise. I like the fact that they didn’t have carpet. The location was close to everything. The only couple downsides are there’s no microwaves in this building, the planes fly by all day and night. If you’re there for more than a day or two that kind of becomes annoying. The staff are great and attentive. If you ask for stuff they will make sure you have it.

Room was dirty, my 3yr olds feet from a few minutes of walking across the room looked like the tires on my rental car! Shower door was improperly installed, refrigerator door was falling off, bedside lights didn’t work, remote control for tv was held together by electrical tape, beds were as hard as the floor.. had it not been for MCRD graduation we would have left early.

Hace falta un microondas en el cuarto y sería perfecto. El extractor del baño es un poco ruidoso, todo lo demás es ideal para moverse, hya tiendas y restaurantes cercanos lo que lo hace ideal para caminar. Solo dos cuadras del mithway museum. Aunque pasan los aviones muy cerca no molesta el ruido dentro del cuarto y la vista de los aviones es increíble.

The property is not clean, (2) vehicles broken down in front of my particular room that have been out of service and on blocks for quite some time, parking is horrible in the room location I was assigned due to the (2) vehicles AND a trailered home that has no business being there, the room next door to me came alive around 2 a.m. with the aforementioned biker group talking and partying very loud. I finally just left the property at 3:30 a.m. as this place really just sucked

Property and staff is always welcoming, accommodating, and clean!! You have to not mind the jet planes coming in to land.

I needed a room for the night after flying in. The hotel was in a good spot where I needed the room for the night. Staff was efficient and amenities were sufficient.

I will premise my review on you get what you pay for. With that said I knew what to expect and didn’t expect anymore. I saved $200 plus here for another night in San Diego which I walked to Little Italy. I knew it was in the landing path of the airport. Room was clean (little too much fragrance), had a refrigerator and bed was comfortable. Other than the jets the property was quiet and what I expected. I expect each room has its quirks but your in San Diego.

I really liked it there. The biggest convenience about is its close the airport. The room i stayed was totally remodeled. So the picture is what you got, its nice when things are updated. This was my first time in san diego or california. I need to come back it was nice there. Easy acess to the little tours on boat, and midway was close by. The one thing i disliked was the music playing outside, and it might not have been bad but the bass was up. All i can say is turn that crap off no one wants to hear that on vacation wear earbuds if you need music and work, besides that ill probably be back in the future.

Dirty little hotel tucked in a forgotten corner. Everything was old and falling the apart. The pool was cold. The access gate was broken. Strange people lingering in the parking lot smoking all the time...the shower door never stayed closed, no microwave. AIRPLANES OVERHEAD ALL THE TIME!

Best thing was the beds. They were extremely comfortable. Fairly clean, short on towels, no kleenex. But otherwise, I would stay again.

It was a great experience because there are many options nearby, it is above all quiet and comfortable.

The motel had a worker using loud tools at midnight. We could not sleep and after getting in after an all days drive we had to go to front desk to let them know. They acted like they didn’t know they had someone still working in a room knowing all their tools were outside and it was a downstairs room. The room smelled like fabuloso (cleaning stuff) when we got in it. There is no microwave and no hair dryer in the room. We didn’t get offered room service and there was not a do not disturb tag to place on the door. If you don’t mind staying on the 2nd floor and having the airplanes flying right above you, then it’s for you. The area doesn’t feel so safe as it’s in a noisy area and not very clean. Lots of traffic area.

The room quality was terrible; no soap or shampoo was available, and the bathroom was in a crazy condition.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the building itself is awful. You will hear every footstep, every conversation, etc, around you, and planes from the SD airport shake the building all day. The door to my room had a massive gap along two full sides, and there were roaches in my room.

Definitely lots of planes flying over as they approached the airport but the noise didn't bother us and it was fun watching them.

This property would get a lot better rating if one could actually sleep in it. The walls and floors and ceilings are paper thin so you can hear the other guests all night. Except when the jets come by every couple minutes. There is absolutely no noise mitigation in this hotel. It was a nightmare

Provides the basic necessities, it's a little dated, on par with the budget price. One huge bonus is for airplane spotters, the motel is across the street from the San Diego airport runway and you can spot planes landing almost directly over the motel. Try to get a room with a balcony to watch them. Noise was not an issue getting to sleep.

In my room, the lights next to the bed didn’t work. The lamp on the desk had no bulb so I was dependent on the main overhead lights. There was water under the floor tile in the bathroom so when you step there the water came up and wet your feet. These things were inconvenient but didn’t affect my stay much.

One night stay for a layover. Worth it for a bed and a shower before traveling.

Cleaners loudy playing music and yelling 1st thing in the morning. People coming and go all night yelling and fighting in carpark. People standing outside our rooms talking and smoking weed gassing our room out with my son in there.

Everything was good

We checked in at 10:30pm, The floor, bathroom door was dirty, the refrigerator had mold and no electricity in the bathroom outlets. In the morning we were woken up by a loud noise, turns out they were doing construction on the parking lot removing the concrete and my car was parked in the middle of all this. The receptionist never told us that they were doing work on the property so we could’ve moved our car that night. I called the lobby and the lady said there a signs all over and pretty much said move it. There was only a white paper on the front door that’s easily missed. Specially at night, I told her that the receptionist could’ve told us that last night, My is car full of black dirt with fingerprints. The pictures are misleading making it looked like it’s renovated. Honestly it was affordable but not worth it at all. This place should not even be as a listing.
