Great room especially for couples! Walking distance from everything and easy to get to!

Conveniently located. Helpful staff. Room was clean. It’s right next to a couple bars but they closed early so noise was not an issue.

The staff was very helpful and friendly, and eager to respond when I had a question. They have a 24/7 chat as well, which is very nice. They gave suggestions of what to do in the city and even some local favorites. The location of the hotel is in the heart of Gaslamp Quarter. Balboa Park, Old Town, Coronado Island, are all within 10 minutes drive!

We had a lovely and extremely affordable two-night stay here! The location is unbeatable and within walking distance of everything downtown. The parking garage just a block away was convenient. The building itself is full of fascinating history, and we loved learning about its past through the timeline on the ground floor. We’ve been back at home for days, but we’re still talking about the history of the Keating Hotel. Makes for a crazy story to tell when you get home! Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was AMAZING. It's clear the new owners are thoughtfully updating the property while preserving its historic character. There is some visible wear and tear, but for the price, it was absolutely worth it. The staff was incredibly kind and even took our bags up for us while we explored the city. We felt safe overall, especially with the deadbolt on the room door. Our door code was a little too predictable for my liking, however. Most of all, we enjoyed supporting a small business with owners who clearly care about preserving this unique piece of San Diego history. The hotel has so much potential, and we're excited to see what they do with it. We'd definitely stay again!

I absolutely loved my stay here. First of all, they made the logistics absolutely SO easy for me. I had the keycode texted & Whatsapped right to my phone, I could always easily find those texts that also had the address easily posted. I referred to those texts multiple times a day and it made it so easy. The actual hotel was SO COOL. I loved the decor, the vibe, the everything. The location was awesome with so many very cool restaurants right by it. I walked to Petco Stadium and all in all, just loved my stay here. Will definitely be back!!!

I was very pleased with how the communication between the hotel staff and myself was on point they responded quickly with my text messages and getting into the building was very easy our room was clean and didn’t have a odor the only thing we would say is that they need to have cups to rinse out your mouth after brushing your teeth and a cup for ice. But otherwise our stay was great and it only took us 8 minutes to walk to the baseball game. Thank you Keating hotel😊

Alex at the front door took care of us and was always very kind and helpful to us. The different smells at the hotel. The lobby has a particular odor to it, then you go to the elevator and another odor super strong welcomes you... its intense and you perceived the cleaning products on top of not so good smells. Overall the photos are much better than what the actual hotel looks like. IS like a haunted hotel. There's a vending machine in the lobby that doesn't work. In my room even with the air conditioning off there was noise coming in from other air conditionings from other rooms. The sink in the bathroom clogged easily, and the shower was moldy. I would not recommend this hotel if you are traveling for leisure or work. Is not pretty to stay here.

The reception lady who works from 9 am till 4 pm. It was the worst hotel I’ve seen. Everything is dirty, broken and cheap in a room. The restrooms in airports look much cleaner and equipped than this.
- 4/5
Shower not well maintained. View into the wall, no daily light. Smelly common areas. Superslow elevator.
- 5/5
Glasses in the room.
- 3/5
This is a budget room in a good location. Room was very sparse...nearly the opposite of well appointed with an odd layout. No lamp at the bedside but a mirror on the ceiling above the sink? Concrete floors. Sheets were pilled and rough. Lipstick stains on the mirror from a prior occupant. Do not recommend room 5A.
- 3.5/5
Great location It’s very outdated in my opinion
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and modern just like the pictures showcased Closest parking garage was $60 to park over night
- 4/5
Great location as you are able to walk around the gas lamp district really easily. Price was also very agreeable. Room size was good and staff was friendly. Only real issue is that the hotel is not staffed all the time and I could not find this information provided on any site, expedia actually lists as 24/7 fyi. Becomes an issue for a place that uses keyless locks and you lock your phone inside with no way to contact anyone onsite to get the code or let you in... I have never worked in or seen a hotel that uses home locks.

Everything Everything was good
- 1.5/5
Comfortable bed, very central location, and a friendly, polite host The furniture and appliances showed significant wear and tear. The sofas were dirty, and there was visible scale and rust on the faucets. The suite was very noisy, as it was located directly above a bar there was loud music, traffic noise, and people shouting late into the night
- 2/5
The staff was great (Alex and Oscar). Location was good too. Bare bones room and "cold" (not temperature wise). Felt a bit like a jail cell with the concrete floor (no carpet anywhere), stainless steel sink fixture, nothing on the walls, and the shower in the bedroom. The weirdest hotel room I've ever been in. Also, no tissues, even when I asked for a box. No coffee maker in the room, no lamps on side tables. Just very cold and echoey.

I stayed at the Keating while in town for a convention. If you’re looking for a place to relax and recharge, this place will do nicely. Room was plenty big and had a small refrigerator. There is no restaurant at the hotel but there are plenty of food options within easy walking distance whether you’re looking for sit down or to go. Very easy walk to the convention center. Staff texted every day to check how stay was going and if any assistance was needed. Although the shower has both a rain head and a standard head, there is no door, so it’s possible to splash water on the floor.
- 4/5
Parking- could instruct future patrons about websites for cheaper rates for parking. Could use hand towels- only had bath towel and wash cloth per person. Pillows are old.
- 4.5/5
It was very affordable and at the center of the nightlife and close to the convention center. The bed were very comfy. It actually wasn’t bad but parking is an issue, they do have a parking structure that you can book through Spot Hero.
- 5/5
Maybe didn’t need to be checked in on EVERY day but it was nice
- 5/5
Good location lots of places to grab drinks and food room was clean had good beds staff is friendly easily to access
- 5/5
The room was spacious with big windows that let us see the nightlife. We were there for the lively atmosphere so we didn’t mind that the walls were paper thin. You could hear the bars and the upstairs neighbors very clearly but we didn’t mind for the purpose of our trip. There were staff on site for a couple of hours per day, and all of our interactions were great. The housekeeping staff was kind, the front desk staff was happy to help, and the security at night made me feel safe. We also stayed here because we are big Gordon Ramsey fans, so that was a plus. The tv had a Roku remote so you can log into your subscriptions, I am unsure if there was cable tv. The WiFi was fast and check in was super easy as it was interaction free. I wouldn’t consider our room family friendly. I stayed with my husband so it was no issue, but the shower had no doors and it was adorned with a mirror on the ceiling. Personally I liked the shower but could see that it wouldn’t be appropriate for families. Only downside was that the bathroom only had a sliding door, leaving it with big gaps between the door and wall.

In walking distance to plenty of restaurants along gas lamp.

Great location, beautiful architecture taking you back in time with class. Super comfy, clean rooms with excellent service from all the staff.

The properties location is great, in downtown, across street from the Taco el Gordo. We loved the location and being able to walk everywhere. N/A
