I did not like that there was no notice that parking would be an extra expense . However, our stay was very pleasant. The gentleman that helped us was very helpful

The only thing I liked was the price. But the hotel is awful. I had to wait outside to check in for about 25 minutes before the staff arrived. There’s a fee for parking (small, horrible parking lot). Our room had weird stains on mattress and walls. Beds were uncomfortable and the sheets like they have not been washed. AC was not working properly. Next time I will just pay the extra 25-40 for a better stay. I guess you get what you pay for .

The staff was polite and did offer to move me to another room after I brought up my concerns. The location may work for some travelers, but unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet basic expectations for comfort or quality. I could not sleep the first night because of loud guests, traffic noise, an uncomfortable bed, and a very loud air conditioner. The room was also missing basic items like hand towels and a trash can in the main room, which made the stay feel poorly managed and not worth the price.

The street noise is unbearable. Would not recommend staying here for that reason alone.

It’s a decent place to stay, it’s close by to many places to eat. The showers were clean but could use a mild upgrade. You are next to a busy intersection so if you aren’t a hibernating type of sleeper, then you will hear the vehicles passing my at night. I’d stay again.

They have a $10 parking fee for the small lot but assured me I would be refunded if I was unable to find parking. The room was really nice and modern, clean with free coffee, a microwave, and mini fridge. I'm so pleasantly surprised by how much was offered me during my stay. I felt so welcomed and really felt like I got an amazing value for under $100 per night. I will definitely be coming back to this hotel every time I stay in the area, its been the best motel I've stayed at! Thank you so much for the amazing stay here. Really made my trip worthwhile. The man that helped me check in and out deserves a raise! 10/10 experience :) Everything was perfect! This is an old motel from the 1960-70s that has been refurbished. The upgrade was very well done but it still has its original shape. Our room was very small but very clean and comfortable. It had a fridge and microwave and the cheapest possible coffee maker. No hairdryer, no iron, although one is available to borrow on request. Staff were friendly and helpful. It served our needs and was excellent value for the price.

The property was disgusting. Smelled like pee as soon as you get into the parking lot. There's no ventilation in the bathroom. The rooms have this old mildew smell to it. Beds made so much noise when moving on it. You would turn and it would squeak so loud that my wife would wake up. WiFi would cut out and had to re login to watch the show. And the parking was very limited. And he would sell the spots per night at 10$. We had to park two blocks away because of the limited parking. I wouldn't stay here again.

I want to say that had this not happened I would’ve been happy with everything. Highly recommend a room with the kitchen. The property is old but fixed up. My biggest recommendation is to CALL AHEAD to make sure your room reservation exists in their system.

The staff was friendly and check-in was simple, which I appreciated after traveling. The room had basic amenities like a mini fridge and microwave, which were convenient for a short stay. However, the hotel does feel a bit dated and could definitely use some updates. One of the biggest issues during my stay was the Wi-Fi, which was very spotty and didn’t work well most of the time, making it difficult to rely on the internet. Overall, it’s a decent budget option in a great location, but there are a few things that could be improved to make the stay better.

The location of the property. The room did not match what was advertised. I experienced bites while sleeping which raised hygiene concerns. The listing also mentioned laundry facilities that were not available, and parking fees were not clearly disclosed.

Additionally, during check-in, the front desk suggested that we try to find street parking because hotel parking is limited and can become inconvenient if it fills up. If guests are being charged for parking, it seems unreasonable to suggest parking on the street instead. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Location was perfect for me. The upstairs guests must’ve been up all night. They kept making noise and it seemed like they were dropping their suitcases all night. And walking in hard heels. But that is not fault of the hotel. I loved my room, unexpected upgrade also.

Convenient location, rooms are spacious and always clean. We have stayed here multiple times and keep coming back. Great places to eat within walking distance. And the harbor is always a nice walk.

Front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful. It was clean but not well-maintained. Even simple paint touch ups would make appearance more pleasant. But everything worked.

The location is in a very nice area. There are lots of food options. The beds looked cleaned and smelled nice. The ac worked great. The Toilet kept filling the tank making loud noise.

Location The room was terrible the couch was extremely soiled and the room in general was dingy. Despite my attempt to stay as it was late in the evening, the condition of the room deteriorated after watching a television program as I proceeded to the restroom to shower, only to discover holes in the shower, two cockroaches, and a leak from the room upstairs. It was the most unpleasant room I have ever personally encountered. This situation significantly deviated from my expectations for Point Loma. Upon my departure, I found that no one was in the office. Consequently, I left the key in the box. I was present for approximately two hours, but the presence of the cockroaches was unbearable. I have yet to receive a refund. Booking.com has consistently provided me with evasive responses, claiming that their call center is overwhelmed and that their supervisor is unavailable to assist me. The hotel has informed me that I must address the matter directly with Booking.com.

Hotel Point Loma is great and reasonably priced. The staff is always so friendly and helpful and it is in walking distance to America's Cup harbor and Point Loma Seafood(great fresh seafood!)

To make matters worse, when I tried to address these issues, the person claiming to be the General Manager denied being the manager to avoid responsibility. Truly awful experience; I would not recommend staying here.

Super close to great coffee the Better Buzz! Short drive to everything! The manager was very kind and compted our parking. Great maid! Very loud neighbors above, but there’s nothing you can do about that. Cussing at each other and can hear every noise on the floor above.

The hotel called to check on my arrival time which was nice since I was running late. Very friendly at checkin and no issues. Had anearly flight, so didn’t spend much time there. Water pressure in the shower was super strong, so that was refreshing. Easy checkout process.

Aside from the AMAZING staff, the clean rooms, and the great location.. they were extremely accommodating for my recent stay straight out of the hospital and with my service dog. I’ve stayed there before and will most definitely stay there again as long as they have vacancy. 10/10 recommend this place!

This was our first time here and it was nice: the rooms are clean but a bit outdated and in need of repair - but it was fine because the hotel is within walking distance of all, and we were only in the room to shower and sleep. It's important to note that the staff is wonderful - so kind and accommodating! The only bummer was the $10/day parking fee.

While there were limited amenities (free Wi-Fi, cable TV), I did appreciate the mini fridge and microwave (for leftovers- plenty of restaurants nearby). Nothing stocked in kitchen -- there was a leak from upstairs plumbing and we had water dripping in our room all over the kitchen counter.

I booked the room for location/price. Although it was clean, the bathroom was not in good shape. The controls in the shower were loose. The temperature was hard to control and there was a hole where a handle had previously been. There was a gap of about 1" at the bottom of the door and sound from a child on the floor above was barely tolerable.

So I had to live out out of my suitcase with it sitting on the floor. The one nightstand was in really bad shape. The bathroom was falling apart. And the room smelled so heavy of cleaning chemicals that I had to put a washcloth over my nose to try to sleep. The staff was very friendly, but the room was not very nice.

Difficult too sleep, very noisy. Looks like owners try hard and check in was easy but it is a very old building. Needs an exterminator, a lot of roaches, etc. Not terrible considering price.

The office closes at midnight but a clerk had stayed there waiting for me to arrive so as to assure I could get checked in. The hotel itself is an older building but my room had been nicely renovated and was very clean. Kudos to the clerk and housekeeping. Overall excellent value and I'd happily stay here again.

Stained sheets, dirty couch, counter with large gap for water to get under formica hidin possible mold. the bathrooom fan vent completely clogged with packed dust. Behind clogged fan grate was an abundance of mold. Baked on food on stove top, (Razor could remove), Smaller refrigerator that advertised in photos for room type, I understand it is an "Affordable" option for the Point Loma area, but some invesment needs to be mde back into the units or update the photos. The shower head and shower were good. We chose only to stay for 1 of our 3-night reservation. with Managers approval Hotels.com will refund the unused nights. At this point not resolution. They did reimberse the $10 parking fee for the one night we did stay. The gentleman at check-in desk was exceptionally pleasnt and a pleasure to work with.

There was no hot water. Not when I checked in, and not when I checked out. For my entire stay, I was without hot water. And all the attendant offered me in the way of compensation is a free $10 overnight parking permit. Worst experience ever.

Super clean and updated old school motel. GREAT location with lots that is easy to walk to. Very nice staff. Fantastic value compared to the bigger chains that were nearby. Checked in around 9 pm after a long day. Was looking forward to a shower and restful nights sleep. Door to the lobby was locked and you have to ring a doorbell for service. Attendant mentions they have a gas leak and there is no hot water. He says he will give me free parking which was $10 I was not even aware of. Felt like they should’ve given a bigger discount for having to take a cold shower. As we walked up the stairs my daughter witnessed 2 guys in a car in the parking lot using needles. Room was pretty dumpy with toilet seat broken and plugs behind thr bed didn’t work. I had to charge my phone in the closet with the microwave. Shower head was at my chest and again water was cold. Beds were average. Lastly, I got up early in the morning to go to Starbucks and when I got back the key wouldn’t even open the room. Not the best stay

We have stayed there twice so far and its been a pleasant experience both times. It does give motel vibes but we book it because its cheap and across the street from the port. Its also down the street from restaurants.

I was greeted at the front desk by a very pleasant man who assisted me through the check in process. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked extremely well.

The toilet kept running and there were missing lights. I was unable to drop my bag or leave it at front desk because they were unavailable/closed.

I had great customer service from the housekeepers to Sam who knows the importance of and the meaning of “customer service”. His friendliness is 100% letting me know that he appreciated my stay, wished me well with my upcoming medical procedures. His communication skills showing the time he left & the time he would return neatly printed & large enough to see was 100% right on with the couple times dealing with me 3 times I decided that I was staying another day at the last minute just before 11:00 a.m. Sam had it done & was handing me back my updated door key card. Shout out to the nicest housekeeper who wears gold wire framed eyeglasses! She was consistent everyday bringing me wash cloths, hand & bath towels and one bath floor mat! Her punctuality at my room door and her never forgetting did not go unnoticed by me. Thank you! I appreciate it! All you folks that work hard everyday to keep things clean, running smooth,in good order lots of things in hours

This is the place to stay at a great price! It’s centrally located for me in my favorite area of Point Loma. Sam was very nice with a great smile and did our check in fast and efficiently. I extended our stay from one overnight to two. I met two of the nicest housekeepers and let them know I appreciated them and their service. They didn’t need to clean the room because the room didn’t need cleaning and that our stay was extended one more overnight because of my fondness of Shelter Island and the beautiful Point Loma area. Hotel Point Loma gets my score of 100%!

Clean and quiet, friendly service. My room was a great size and it had a kitchen.

Unexpected charges when arrived. Was charged $120 for two days parking (uncovered and limited space) and incidental. Bed was hard as a rock. Everything was broken and painted over. Floors were sticky. Pillows were flat. Small TV. Big cracks around the door. Walked jn to dorty floors due to a man with leaf blower outside it went under door. Ac ran for 5 minutes. No plug for bathroom tub and shower curtain was ripping. And curtain rod was held up by screws. No fitted sheet, no comforter, the blanket was just two flat sheets.

Room was a basic room very clean just older and tv wires and cables hanging bathroom cabinets held together by silicone, no closet for hanging clothes because it was turned into fridge microwave coffee area. Mattresses really firm. Parking spots very limited and small for large vehicles. Did the job for the price but probably wouldnt stay here again.

Great little motel. Popped into San Diego to do some swimming just needed a place to stay and store my gear. Check-in was easy housekeeping on point giving new sheets and new towels. Each day room was very, very clean a modest little place to stay near the harbor.

My room was clean with a cold frig and basic cox cable TV. The motel is on a busy street, but with the fan running the traffic noise was blocked out. There is an excellent Mexican restaurant called La Perla 3 about 3 blocks south on Rosecrans. If your coming from the airport and traveling light, you can catch the 923 bus at the Harbor Drive and Spanish Landing stop. From terminal 2, walk just west of Air Canada and use the crosswalk. Walk south briefly through a parking lot and continue on a sidewalk to North Harbor Drive. The bus goes west to Nimitz, then a few blocks to Rosecrans. There is a Ralphs grocery store on that corner. Finally, walk south on Rosecrans about 6 blocks to Hotel Point Loma. This sounds like a lot, but it is really quite doable and saves over Uber or taxi fares. (bus $2.50 or $1.25 senior, exact change or Pronto app) I'm 72 and just had a small backpack and it was easy.

Front desk for check in has limited hours but the Check in guy was very nice. I hope he gets well soon (foot problem). Parking lot is a little weird, but it's good to have and very handy. Room 104 needs to get a water saver shower head. The one in there now is like a fire hose!

The stay was ok. Kind of pricy for a mid hotel that doesn’t come with accommodations like other hotels priced at the same price. Old furniture. Main door has huge gaps at the bottom and lets a bunch of noise in and out, really sucked

However, staff very nice, helpful. Area is nice right near marina, walking paths, nice restaurants. I felt safe in neighborhood

It’s your basic low end motel good for a one night stay near the airport. Location is walkable to places to eat. Room smells a bit dank. Heater is loud making I hard to sleep. At the low rate it is what it is.

Heat didn't work properly. Always piping in freezing air, staff couldn't fix, so turned off. Led to lack of fan noise to drown out busy street noise. Hidden plugs not convenient for charging devices. Had to pull back bed to find plug for lamp which had not been plugged in. Huge headboard hit me in the head as a result, other plugs didn't hold the plugs or seem to work. NO PLACE to hang a single item of clothing.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed in a dozen hotels in this category and this one is my favorite!

My only issues was the pet fee of $25/pet/night. I did not see it and even the front desk was having issues finding where it said that in the website.

Sam (manager) was amazing. He knew I was there for surgery so made sure I had a room away from the traffic and noise. Wish I had a little bigger room, but this was nice. Everything worked, shower was amazing, proximity to everything! Probably one of the best places I have stayed in a long time.

Sam and the friendly staff were professional, friendly, hospitable and attentive to my concerns. Sam waited up late for my check-in as I came in after a late flight. Really appreciate that. He gave me great tips about the area. I would definitely come here again.

I didnt have a chance to stay the night at the hotel and when the staff called me he was very rude and eventually hung up on me as i was explaining "I wont be abke to make it and i dont wish to cancel or ask for refund." Before i could even finish saying thank you and have a good night, mid sentence of my apologizing for any inconvenience he hung up on me.

Gentleman working office was very nice, hotel is in a great location for Point Loma activities. Our TV did not work (office was closed when we returned to room after 11 PM)…bedsheets and pillows could use some updating! Sheets were tired and pillows hard as rocks! Overall room was clean and fine for our one night stay..

Room I stayed in was pretty spacious with a pullout couch & that was comfortable to sit on. I would recommend another furniture like a long drawer chest besides the basic nightstand w/ lamp. I had a long stay so I had to layout my clothes on the couch. Maybe other rooms have it but mine didn’t. There was not a closet, iron or hairdryer available in the room. Maybe if asked about but I didn’t bother or mind as I’d already packed that myself. Bathroom wise, it was okay. It’d also be nice if the shower curtains were switched out from cloth to plastic cause there was a humid odor as soon as I walked in the bathroom. I couldn’t tell if it was coming from the toilet, shower curtain or the shower tub. It was an unpleasant smell when I would shower unless it’d be possible to clean the shower w/ a different chemical. There was a mini fridge, microwave & coffee maker which was a plus. There is parking but you’d have to $10/day or park in the street. Overall if you’re tight on a budget, don’t really care for the other necessities, planning a quick getaway/vacay, then yes I wouldn’t see why not stay in this place. I give this place a 7/10.

The place is good for a 2 star hotel. The front desk didn't show up for 15 minutes after we got there to check us in, i find that very unprofessional. There is a $10 a day parking fee i didn't know about also. Probably in the fine print somewhere. Other than that it it was clean.

for the price it’s great!

Sam was an amazing host and was friendly and accommodating. I stayed the previous night with my friend and when she checked out, I had my own reservation to which Sam navigated easily and effusively going above and beyond and even gave me an early check-in. I will definitely be back to stay!

The parking was not good had to park either in front of a car or behind a car and I really didn’t like that as I didn’t want someone to bother me or I didn’t want to bother someone else during their stay other than that everything was good.

Wonderful place at a budget price. I would highly recommend to all!
