The hotel itself is spectacular. Rooms were clean and spacious. Cool tropical vibe throughout. The only drawback is parking is limited so you may need to circle the parking a lot to find a space.

The staff when we checked in were so wonderful it was so late at night. All the staff were absolutely wonderful highly customer service friendly.

This is a nice place if you want to cook for yourself and use the hotel as a base to explore areas around the city.

Breakfast is not the same on the weekend when the hotel is filled with families and children compared to the week day when it is mostly adults.

Check in was easy and our room was beautiful. Broken lights that couldn’t be fixed was our only problem

Great location. Everything as promised. Loved our room. Great selection for a complimentary breakfast. By choice, we occasionally used the stairway instead of the elevator… even that smelled clean, that’s a first. The only negative was the tight parking. We have a compact car and we perfectly fit within the lines. Not a deal breaker. Passengers got out before parking. Definitely will return and highly recommend, especially for families.

The access to pool until 10:00 pm was really very nice.

We enjoyed the spacious room, full kitchen, and the ability to text the staff for any necessities we needed. We didn’t like that the fire pits were turned off at 10pm. We went out one night wanting to warm up next to the fire but were informed that they couldn’t be turned back on. Also, we didn’t like that the gym wasn’t available 24/7.

Rooms cleaned every other day. We stayed 3 nights and on the day of our cleaning we were in the room until 11:30 w/ privacy sign on door. Cleaning staff did not return that day to clean room. When we returned that night and spoke to front desk they offered to have someone bring up towels and take out trash. Bathroom trash was not taken and was overflowing by that 3rd day.

Great stay, the room had everything I needed. Refrigerator door was on the wrong side where positioned and was hard to open door and get into behind the table. Shower and bathroom were clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great and provided a fresh start to the day!!

My stay was prepaid at nearly $800 for three nights, and what I’ve experienced so far is completely unacceptable; especially for a brand that markets itself at the level of Hilton Hotels & Resorts. On April 19th around 11:00 AM, I requested basic housekeeping service and was told the hotel was “full,” as if that somehow justifies denying a standard service that is expected and paid for. Occupancy has nothing to do with fulfilling routine housekeeping. That response alone reflects poor management and a lack of accountability. The issues didn’t stop there. Both phones in my room are completely non-functional. That is not an inconvenience; that is a safety failure. In any credible hotel, guests must have a reliable way to contact the front desk in an emergency. This alone should have triggered immediate corrective action. It did not. Later, I requested towels. After waiting over 30 minutes with no delivery, I followed up; only to be told staff had already come to my room. That statement was simply false. I had been present the entire time. No knock, no delivery, no attempt. As I write this, the delay exceeded 45 minutes with still no resolution. This is not a minor lapse in service. This is a pattern of negligence: Basic services denied Safety standards ignored Staff providing inaccurate information Zero urgency to resolve issues At this price point, none of this is acceptable. This experience doesn’t just fall short of expectations; it calls into question the operational standards of this property entirely. I am formally documenting this and escalating it. If it is not resolved promptly and appropriately, I will continue escalation through corporate channels and public platforms to ensure accountability. If you’re considering staying here, understand this: you may pay premium rates, but there is no guarantee you will receive even basic service. Raymond Tuggle II

Gave the room an 8/10 because we didn’t have a switch to open and close electric curtains. Also we didn’t like the bathroom’s sensor light and fan. Both of these were an annoyance but wouldn’t prevent us from staying here again.

On the positive side, the staff truly stood out—they were excellent and responded immediately when we requested additional towels, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was also consistently good, just as expected, and a nice way to start the day. Overall, a nice experience thanks to the cleanliness, reliable breakfast, and especially the attentive service, though the room size and bed setup could be improved.

The property is clean and felt safe. The pool area stayed clean and had pool towels available. The 1 bedroom suite was very accommodating for my family of six. Breakfast staff was amazing and there were a lot of options to choose fun. Overall a great stay and we’ll be returning.

My family and I found our room to be unclean. We found fingerprints on the light switches, stains on the ottoman, crumbs and salt on the kitchen counter tops, a bug in the bathroom, and a few towels with stains. Upon contacting the front desk, a maid showed up with a wipe cloth and a spray bottle. She wiped down a few areas that my wife pointed out and then left. She didn't seemed too happy with the additional work. In addition, the breakfast variety and quality has declined based on my experience at past Homewood stays. For a 2-night stay, we could look past these issues.

Staff was very friendly upon arrival. Room was in good condition had all the items we needed for the weekend. The breakfast was great because there was a variety of food every day and a huge plus to being close to restaurants and grocery stores.

The parking is a bit tight since it’s shared with another hotel literally right next to each other.

We had a comfortable family stay. Sofa bed in the suite living room helped.

We were really impressed with the Homewood Suites by Hilton SD Central. The place was clean and neat. The deal we got was great! Affordable! So happy we got to stay there. Staff was friendly and nice. Yvette at the front desk was very kind and helpful. We had an excellent experience. Would definitely go back.

Worst experience ever. It took an hour before they check me in and my family cause the front desk said that Expedia book through a third party which I don’t understand and they ask me to pay additional fee because they told me that there’s more tax that I need to pay which never happen to me to all my booking through Expedia. After I was checked in, me and my family went to our room and worst thing happen, they gave the wrong room. I booked a 1 bedroom with 2 beds and instead what I got is a no separate bedroom with 1 bed and they couldn’t transfer me cause front desk told me that they are fully booked.

Overall pretty good for the cost and is pretty easy drive to beaches and all the touristy places in San Diego

I recently stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Central and I can honestly say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. This place really exceeded my expectations in every way. First off, the staff was absolutely incredible. This is what stood out the most to me—every single person we encountered was genuinely kind, friendly, and welcoming. You can tell they truly care about their guests. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or breakfast staff, everyone went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. That level of consistency is rare and made a huge difference in our stay. The rooms were also fantastic—very clean, fresh, and well-maintained. Everything felt updated and comfortable, and it was clear that cleanliness is a top priority here. It made it easy to relax and feel at home. The property itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. The courtyard area is especially impressive—it creates a really relaxing and inviting atmosphere. There are two large fire pit tables that are perfect for hanging out in the evening, along with a fun mini golf area and a table with Jenga for a little extra entertainment. They also have two BBQ grills available, which is a great touch if you want to cook and enjoy the outdoor space. The pool and hot tub area were also very nice—clean, spacious, and perfect

The hotel was in a great central location, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had an issue with my bathroom sink and they fixed it pretty quickly. The rooms were very nice and provided many amenities no longer provided by other hotels.

We were treated as if we were long lost family members returning for a sweet reunion. Food was excellent, the every other day housekeeping was just right. Getting text messages asking if there was anything else that was needed was a nice touch. Poolside, fire pit, jacuzzi, exercise room, were wonderful.

This hotel is likely ideal for families visiting San Diego, but not as ideal for couple using it for a one night stay. The location is good -close to the freeway. The pool is lovely, but the hotel surrounds the pool and every room pretty much faces it. As a result it was a bit noisy until 10pm. Also the breakfast was meh - very little of what I consider healthier options. Overall it’s a fine property, but maybe not ideal for people looking for peace and quiet.

Amenities were nice, but our room (on the second floor) was extemely noisy, making it difficult to fall asleep. The room floor vibrates and hums loudly when the downstair room's heater turns on. The traffic noise from the adjacent highway was also loud.

The staff was awesome, we checked in late and had zero issues! Great location, great amenities, plenty of parking. Their buffet breakfast was excellent. This location is very family friendly and the rooms are large—mini suites designed to accommodate large families. Will definitely come back!

When I spoke with the Housekeeping Manager (Ray), he was rude, dismissive and defensive. At first the staff stated they didn’t find our items, and then when they checked again, they recovered the toothbrush case, but our expensive toothbrush was missing. We will never stay there again. Hard pass.

Needless to say we had a bad night with 2 hot parents and 2 super hot toddlers. When I told the receptionist upon checkout she just said I’m sorry about that- it just seemed like no one cared. I loved the hotel though besides that.

We booked our room specifically because other families from my son’s football team were also staying at the same hotel. It was meant to be a convenient and enjoyable experience for the boys before their big game. However, upon preparing the sofa bed around 10:00 p.m., we discovered bugs on the mattress. This discovery was both disturbing and unsanitary. When we contacted the front desk, we were told that maintenance could “spray the room with bug spray,” and that it would be safe for us to remain in the room afterward. This suggestion was unreasonable and dismissive, given the circumstances. Spraying chemicals in a room where a child is expected to sleep is not an appropriate response. We were then informed that the hotel was sold out for the night, as was the neighboring property. However, after calling the neighboring property myself, I learned that they did, in fact, have rooms available. It was nearly 10:30 p.m. by the time we packed up and left. We were told that the hotel would “cover the difference” for the other property’s rate, also not an acceptable resolution. The inconvenience, stress, and time lost from having to move hotels late at night completely ruined the purpose of our stay.

Our room was fine and clean but our toilet clogged up and would not flush for our 2 day stay and despite multiple attempts, it was not attended to until about 1 hour before we checked out. Hard having to go downstairs in the middle of the night to use the lobby bathroom.

We had a great experience and will definitely be back! Excellent staff and great spot to hang out. Families, sports teams and couples all hanging out in the pool court yard watching the Dodgers game swimming, playing golf hanging by the fire. The kitchens in the room and breakfast were the perfect addition to a great weekend :)

The hotel was nice but the pillow cases were dirty and we were just told to go pick up clean pillow cases from front desk. It was also really noisy you could hear everything through front door. House keeping woke us up around 8 am. Also strange loud water sound at 4am not sure if it was a pipe problem.

The room had stains on the carpet. The bed was not comfortable. I believe it was a manager telling a guest. They could not play music when they were by the pool. I always believe when you go to San Diego you’re supposed to have fun if they are complaining about the music Why do nobody complain about kids screaming

The cleanliness of the room wasn’t well done. There was trash from previous stay, you can tell it was rushed through because the table on top of that long leg rest wasn’t even moved and urine stains on the toilet bowl. Front desk and staff at the breakfast buffet were amazing and helpful. Food was good because there was a change in menu the 2nd morning there.

Noisiest place I ever stayed. Not only the traffic but the echo chamber Atrium. Golf balls hitting my room door at 10 PM . yelling and screaming echoing off the walls of all the rooms. Moved to a different room because of the golf balls to a less noisy room- even worse traffic noise. would never even consider this hotel (or Hilton?) property again.

Hotel room was clean. Hotel seemed old air conditioner in room was very noisy.

The housekeeping horrible and no basic curtesy after my request . Rooms are really great .. Parking space is shared with two property with Charges to guests is not a suggested service .

Despite the 1-hour wait, I really enjoy staying here when me and my honey need a little staycation. The atmosphere is always relaxing, and it feels like a perfect getaway without having to travel far. Definitely one of our favorite spots!

ammenities are great, breakfast is excellent, The checkout at 12PM is a plus! we did found a Roach in the kitchen of the room.

Our family of 5 spent 6 nights here. The staff was helpful nice and kind along woth all the guest we met. There was alot to keep our kids entertained from swimming in the pool, relaxing in the hot tub, playing putt putt golf and playing board games that are in the lobby at breakfast time. We will definitely love to come back.

Great stay! Only negatives were the pool was broken for 1.5 days of our stay and the rooms are tight for people with a lot of large pieces of luggage.

we’ve stayed at countless Hilton related hotels and this one by far stood out and not in the greatest way. Con’s: the bed (which is pretty important) was equivalent to sleeping on your grandparents spare bedroom bed from 1955 . Not only was it broken down in the center but the springs were god awful with zero pillow top between you and the fitted sheet. Air conditioning was far too small for the size of the room as well as far away from the bedroom. literally took an entire day to cool the room down (when we checked in at 9pm at night the room thermostat was set to 80. After the second day cleaners came and did the absolute bare minimum (replaced 3 towels when we had 5 checked into our room) and that’s literally it, no restocking of the coffee (I had to go down and ask the desk for more) beds weren’t touched nor was the front room. Pro’s: front desk staff was nice as were the breakfast ladies. Continental breakfast was decent and good for the value. Pool and jacuzzi area were clean, the patio area was neat and very inviting for families to hang out. Quiet time was acknowledged by all and seemed like it all shut down promptly at 10pm. Conveniently located to a ton of shopping needs and such just on the otherside of the I-15. Unfortunately for the cost of the hotel the cons greatly outweighed the pro’s and my family and I will be staying at a different Hilton next time.

Bathroom shower wasn’t very clean had hair. Beds and sofa bed was not comfortable and needed better and more pillows.

Staff is always very friendly and willing to help. They are also amazing at keeping amenities up to date and clean. My family and I love everything this hotel has to offer; the pool, hot tub, firepit, grills and golf. The only thing i can say could be better is the breakfast they offer, if they had better options it would definitely be a 5 star hotel for us.

The Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good and being replenish frequently. The room was nice and clean with comfortable beds. I loved all the extras the property had to offer.

Room didnt have a working AC. They had a portable one inside the room with the vent duct taped to the window. No other room had it like that. Room was also next to the stairs and the door would slam shut on the 3rd floor. 1st floor stairs shut quietly though. Staff was friendly on the plus side. Room had a large fridge and a stive with pots and pans. Dishes were available too. Only down side was the AC and the slamming stairwell door.

Clean, friendly & spacious

This hotel was okay. The fitness facilities are filthy and never cleaned. They are just restocked with towels and cups. A good floor wash in a fitness facility is needed daily. We were there a week and the same dust balls were on the floor . Also look for hidden fees. Expedia says the total cost is what you pay, which is not true. We were charged $10 /day for parking in an open,unsecure parking lot . That was a complete rip off, as Hilton members we received nothing. I would definitely look for another hotel in the area that doesn’t charge you daily for parking in a regular, open parking lot!

Delicious breakfast buffet with amazing and helpful staff. Loved the pool location being central and private in the middle of the triangle of rooms. Handy to shopping and lots of restaurants. Close access to a main highway. Spacious room with kitchen area stocked with some dishes and utensils. Central to Legoland and SeaWorld and other places we wanted to visit. (30 min drive or less to all of them) Would definitely stay here again.

I liked everything about it people that stay there the staff the food that my Chinese martial arts class is close by and the shopping center as well

Parking sucks!

I like the fact that it has multiple choices for breakfast. The staff is very friendly. I love the Jacuzzi after a great day of exercising. It has a pool grill area a space where everybody can sit, relax and have a conversation the amount of space there is in the bedrooms and also it has a fitness center as well. While staying in the hotel room it’s like living in your own apartment.

The breakfast people were so helpful even during the morning rush of guests. They managed to notice when I was looking confused and asked what I needed.

If you value comfort DO NOT book this hotel. The beds are so uncomfortable you can feel the springs. I wouldn’t advise anyone to book this hotel. The rooms are decent but not the cleanest. DO NOT STAY HERE

Breakfast & Wednesday complementary was Ok.

The girl (and I remember it was her birthday) went to check the room for me and it was so much easier, right next to the elevator. The shower was easy enough for me to get into but it didn't have anything to sit on. I knew I was only taking a very quick shower so I didn't call the front desk but you need a seat in there and it will be perfect. I had also hoped we would have been able to get something for breakfast. I was told for my Saturday to Sunday stay the breakfast starts at 6am but when I got there it was at 7am. I was disappointed and so we left to get food at the airport. Which was in no way free.

Loved this place. Will stay again next time we come to San Diego. Very comfortable bed, and well equipped kitchen. Nice outdoor/pool area.

Very comfortable stay!

I was staying in a room on the first floor and there was loud music until late in the evening.

Anthony and Mikayla welcomed me to the property and it was nice conversation we all had. It was one of the best check-ins I've had in a while. They also recommended many restaurants to eat dinner at.

There is no floor drain in the bathroom, so after using the shower, any splashed water must be cleaned up manually. This issue considered during the room design and renovation. The partition to block splashed water from the shower is also not high enough.

The rooms are amazing!!! It's like a mini apartment.

Wanted something close to my sons apartment and this was just the ticket

My family and i stayed here for a small family vacation. Front desk staff was so nice and always willing to help. Kitchen staff was amazing, always kept the breakfast coming so everyone was able to enjoy it. The kitchen staff even went above and beyond when they found out it was my daughters birthday, and made her a special waffle, which i definitely thought was the sweetest thing. The amenities were all working and we had a blast using them. Our room was clean and we were impressed with how it was set up, the room with the bathroom, a small living room and kitchen made it feel like an apartment rather than a hotel room.We will be using them every time we come to San Diego!

I just wished they cleaned the rooms a little bit better. I bought wipes and did a little cleaning myself. Staff were really friendly. The mouse traps all over the rooms were a huge turnoff I didn’t know they had a mouse problem. Luckily for us we didn’t see any during our stay. Overall it was a good stay.

This property is very close to a busy highway. We paid for five nights and ended up checking out after the first day. The first room they gave us was non-smoking, but reeked of cigarettes. Staff was helpful in moving us. The second room was better, but one of the glass cups broke in my hand while I was drinking from it. The bed was so uncomfortable, but it had been too late at night to find somewhere else to stay so we checked out in the morning.

However, these are things I wanted to mention but the stay otherwise was very pleasant. Staff was nice, the courtyard had pool and open seating with fire places that we used. Rooms were clean and everything working except what I mentioned above. There is a Denny’s next to the parking lot so we just walked to it.

The room was immaculately maintained, and the staff demonstrated exceptional service, going above and beyond to cater to my needs. They even followed up with me via text to inquire if there was anything else they could assist me with. I would choose to stay with them again.

There are 2 things I was unhappy with…there are no hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels. Only 1 small bar on the shower door. There wasn’t even anyplace to hang the hand towel. Had I been there with my family this would have been very insufficient for multiple people using towels. There also wasn’t any flat sheet on the bed which I found uncomfortable

The breakfast staff was kind of always in the way, restocking things while reaching over you, they weren’t trying to be out of your way at all, took their cart out without minding where the guests were at all, no one was cleaning tables in the breakfast area, you had to clean your own table and were playing loud music from their staff room, dancing and laughing, a bit too causal and relaxed their behaviour, they need a reminder of their tasks and being less personal with eachother and the guests. One staff kept talking to a guest while the guest was grabbing her breakfast and the guest seemed annoyed. No espresso and the coffee is really weak. The breakfast options are just ok. Almost sausage every morning. The cleaning staff is inconsistent, one day cleaned our dishes and made all the beds, another day didn’t make the pullout bed, and left the dishes dirty. Location is good. Bbq pits and hot tub is nice. Overpriced.

Overall wonderful - front parking lot had very narrow spaces. Was unaware of $10/day parking fee. Water pressure was super weak in our shower. Otherwise, a perfect experience for my family of five.

Staff took frequent breaks, while looking for parking in the back lot, two tweekers were looking in people’s car. Security was all over it once I let the staff know.

Front desk Makayla was very helpful in assisting our needs and got an extra room. Amenities were great. Bonus was the accommodation of having 1st floor rooms for the convenience of our big dogs.

Breakfast was nice but they literally throw everything away and clean up right at 9:00 no matter who's waiting to make food. The pool and recreation area was cute and looked nice. The barbecues were a pleasant surprise. Staff was very nice and friendly and helpful. I am not a Hilton member so I'm pretty sure I got one of the worst rooms.

My only concern was the shower. Looked like there had been previous water damage and water flowed low out of the shower head.

The property is updated, nice room and great breakfast. The pool and spa are great as well. Great food options around the area.

It was a quick trip and the size and amenities of the room were perfect. The carpet in the living area was filthy. The bathroom, kitchen and furniture were all clean.

Our kids said the best part of our trip to San Diego was the hotel! It was very clean, had plenty of places for the family to sleep comfortably and the breakfast buffet was wonderful.

Great rooms with all the stuff you need. Strong water pressure and great bedding and tv.

Overall, it was good hotel was clean. Pool was nice. Staff was nice. They overbooked their rooms and accidentally canceled my room which we ended up having a stranger walk in on my 12 year-old son. The staff did a good job correcting the issue and making things right.

Hotel was definitely rougher than what was portrayed in the photos. Our room did not have working outlets, lights, phone. Sofa bed mattress cover had stains and was very uncomfortable for our daughter. King bed was comfortable enough but bed pillows were extremely flat. Free hot breakfast was nothing fancy but a nice option. Location was good for what we needed and front desk staff were friendly. Overall stay was fine, just not the level of quality I was expecting.
