My room was clean, perfect temperature. My shower was spotless and l clean towels. The staff was friendly. Acknowledge who went in and out. My stay was great.
- 5/5
Very helpful staff and great place to stay. Very close to petco park and San Diego convention center.
- 4/5
The rooms were clean, the staff helpful, great security measures since it is in the Gaslamp district of S.D. Would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Property clean and close to everything! Received free upgrade
- 2/5
The property is run down, and the photos are misleading.

I had booked a suite a specific room and paid extra money however: when I arrived I got a different room that it wasn’t what I had requested I notified the front desk and the response was there were sold out or completely booked and there was nothing they could do but at the end of the day, they said they call me a week, but it’s not what I paid for. Very disappointing.
- 1/5
Terrible experience, there is no restaurant in the hotel and there is no bar/lounge as stated. If you don’t mind being up all night on a Friday/Saturday night then stay at the Gaslight Plaza Hotel. I didn’t know this when I booked this hotel, as the website portrays a different atmosphere. There were police cars, at least 6 when I returned from dinner at 10:00 p.m. It startled me, and I didn’t feel safe leaving at that time of night. The party only got louder and louder, 12:30 am, 1:30 am, 2:30 am, the Hotel attendee apologized but nothing was resolved. So, if you like to,party be sure and go there because you will not have to leave your room, it will be in your room as well as out on the street. The worse hotel experience I have ever had…and Expedia you need to give me my money back.

Very good. I enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Quick trip- but the staff was friendly, and even though the building was old it was fairly clean and well maintained. The only downside is the walls seemed thin as we could hear our neighbors. We would stay again.

Day we got into town. It was soo nice from beginning to end. The staff was super nice and friendly starting with the Valet Guy Casey who was super nice. Then when we checked in, Pablo was super friendly and recommended some great places in the area. The rooms were nice and decent. We ended up getting a standard room and decided to Stay an extra night. Also when we checked out Mary was super energetic and friendly and very helpful. We will definitely upgrade when we come again soon, in the heart of the Gas Lamp District but overall, this place was the perfect spot to stay. Totally highly recommend.

The staff at the hotel was really friendly and helpful. The room was decently nice, love the view but it can use some upgrade. However, for two nights, it's worth the stay especially how convenient the location is.

This location is fantastic, just steps away from a vibrant array of amenities including lively nightlife venues, diverse restaurants, the scenic bay, the nearby zoo, and other attractions. Keep in mind, since it’s right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, the nightlife can be quite lively, which might be disruptive for light sleepers. The room was lovely and cozy, featuring a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and a comfortable sitting area with plush chairs and a small sofa. Overall, it was a really enjoyable stay.

Staff were super helpful and friendly.

Great place
- 5/5
I had to change the room name 3 times, and the people at the front desk were SOOO kind. Not any complaints or bad attitude, they were amazing and super kind. That's the most important thing in this business, kindness and empathy. Also amazing rooms! I would be back here with no clue.
- 5/5
We were very surprised at our wonderful room and view of the downtown. Loved the terrace upstairs, we enjoyed our bottle of wine and again a stunning view. The staff was helpful to getting around the Gaslamp for food. We will be happy to return another time.
- 2/5
The staff were all very helpful and kind, but the area was exceedingly loud and the room did little to nothing to dampen the noise so if you’re looking for somewhere quiet this isn’t your place. Also, not family friendly.
- 5/5
The rooftop area is not being utilized to its fullest. It's a nice area, but it's not well kept and there's not really anything appealing out there.
- 5/5
If you’re going to a game at Petco park this hotel has a great location! Older hotel but clean and comfy. Staff was great( recommended a place to eat and valet parking was awesome

Clean room, friendly staff. Room was small, but sufficient for our stay. Great rooftop terrace, with coffee and water, but wished they offered a continental breakfast.

Room was clean and in perfect condition upon our arrival. We only stayed for one night but the amenities provided were fantastic!

Very spacious suites with large bathroom and kitchenette. The bed was a bit squeaky but comfortable and the pillows were also comfortable. The bathroom was large and Iiked that there was an actual bath tub so that

This is wonderful place to stay if you are going to Petco Stadium. It’s an easy walk to restaurants in Gaslamp and has some hiatory, being built in 1913. Beautifully renovated suites. We would stay there again.

The staff especially Merry were kind, friendly, and helpful. Rooftop is a must. They have coffee, tea, ice, etc and plenty of tables and chairs either outside or indoors to chill with family and/or friends. Air conditioning worked well, and the room was clean with small fridge and microwave in a side room with a sofa and tv. It’s walking distance from Petco Park about 12 minutes and all the Gaslamp restaurants, bars, etc.

Great hotel for to be on Central downtown SD.
- 4/5
The staff was exceptional. Pablo and Merry were so kind. The only downside in our stay was the noise outside. Being in a party part of San Diego has its ups and downs. Location was excellent and found great restaurants close by.

The staff was friendly and I had everything I needed. The property is older, but it had a great view from my room and the rooftop. Perfect location just out of the busy areas.

I like this old hotel. My room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Great location too
- 5/5
The staff are so friendly!! And the room was amazing.
- 5/5
Well, the hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff was terrific, but the building itself is barely a three star The surrounding neighborhood - during the day - was a little sketchy. At night, however, the area came alive with all the bars and restaurants. And, despite my feelings about the neighborhood, there was convenient public transportation all around and the entire area was walkable.
- 5/5
Older establishment but very well kept. It was in the Gaslamp district which is very nice. Valet parking - can't park yourself. Lots of places to eat within walking distance and to the Padres stadium.

- 4/5
The hotel was clean and comfortable with helpful staff. The neighborhood is rough. There are a lot of bars, clubs, and restaurants and there was a lot of street noise, music, and cars blasting music past 4 am during our stay. Many unhoused people on the streets. I liked the property but will be looking for a different neighborhood for my next visit to San Diego.

- 4/5
The staff was wonderful. They were cheerful, helpful and friendly. My only issue was the noise from the street last night. The music and patrons of the bar on the corner across the street were very loud up to the bar closing.

Our one bedroom suite appeared to have been recently refreshed. The furniture and carpet looked very new. The room was clean including the bathroom. Very conveniently located to the Gas Lamp district. They were flexible to allow early check-in as our room was ready. The rooftop space for coffee and enjoying the views were nice. The building was constructed in 1913 and has nice charm to it. The exterior side of our room windows were filthy. Having lived in high rise buildings both of the same age and more modern it appeared that they hadn’t been washed in over a year. Friday and Saturday night partying crowds in the GasLamp district can be heard. I was not bothered by it but my partner was the first night.

Very nice roof top for free instead. I could barely stand because it was a business trip. It would have destroyed the trip and left bad impression on San Diego if it was private. Probably I would not stay here again.

The room was clean, Merry and all staff were friendly, the bar is the best part, it’s a speakeasy, it was secure, modern and historic, the heating was great. Location was great and comfortable, all amenities worked. Convenient.

1- Staff at the reception were extremely helpful, kind and professional. They helped me a lot the lady and the man who's office was right behind (I apologize as I don't know their names). 2- Cleanliness 3- Location 4- Coffee on the roof top No breakfast
- 5/5
The building is beautiful. The room while small was nice, clean, and comfortable. There is a small kitchenette with utensils and plates. It was so convenient. The staff was incredible! If you don't know where to eat, ask them. They have great recommendations. Also, I forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste. I called the front desk and within MINUTES one of the staff members was knocking on my door with both. Lastly, please, DO NOT miss going to the rooftop. The view is lovely. I worked there for almost an entire afternoon in beautiful April weather. It was so nice! I had a great experience in this hotel.
- 5/5
Great suites, good prices, excellent location. Can't really ask for much more. Cleaning staff did an excellent job with daily service. Rooftop and other ammenities were nice touches as well.
- 5/5
Good Enough and close enough to the Conference
- 4/5
Online I read that the parking was included so I did not look for public parking for a fee that was confortable paying. However, when I checked out I found out that the parking was $56.00 per night and my $100.00 deposit was applyed to it leaving me a balance of $12.00. The receptinist never mentioned anything about a parking fee until I check out leaving mw with not choice on the cost for parking.
- 2/5
Hotel and rooms are quite run down and bathroom could use an upgrade. For the price we paid, I expected better but I do need to acknowledge that they accommodated a very early check in with a room upgrade when we arrived before 9am. Since we were in the Gaslamp, there was very loud noise on Friday and Saturday night. Not just music and people going out, but what sounded like street racing, and people on megaphones, and obnoxious sirens. This was on the 5th floor. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to others.

The location was perfect in Downtown San Diego, and when we arrived they offered to upgrade our room. The room was beautiful, clean, and exceeded our expectations. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. It was a bit noisy, but that’s just part of being in the Gaslamp District, and we didn’t notice it at all the second night. We will absolutely be booking here when we visit San Diego again!

We loved the rooftop and location to Gaslamp
- 5/5
The hotel was very charming and the staff were very accommodating. Everything is close by within walking distance. The only drawback is that you can hear the clubs outside of the hotel and all the street noise very clearly all night/morning. I wouldn’t recommend if you are stay on a weekend and have little kids.

I absolutely loved my stay at Gaslamp Plaza Suites for my birthday! The entire experience was amazing from start to finish. The staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made everything feel even more special.
- 4/5
Everything about this property with the exception of the valet service was great. Suite was clean and beds were very comfortable. I didn’t expect the suites to be as large as they are which was a huge plus. I will stay there again. The valet company however was not so good. They took way too long to acknowledge we were there and took forever to bring my car to me even though I have them 20 min heads up as requested. I eventually discovered my car was parked outside but had to wait another 20-30 min to get my keys.
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay, hotel is near all restaurants and bars! Location is great! We love staying here, second time starting 2026. Staff is great, front desk, housekeeping, everyone was so nice and welcoming! We absolutely love this hotel. Nothing to complain about
- 5/5
All was perfect! Room clean and very comfortable. Staff was welcoming and efficient.

Beautiful historical building--rooms are very comfortable. The only negative thing is nothing to do with hotel but the noise outside at nighttime when your trying to sleep--I had earplugs in & it was party central--all night long!

Older building but the room was great!

Be sure to check out the rooftop, the view is amazing. Everyone of the staff members were very accommodating, we greatly appreciated it as my husband is handicapped.

Nice property. Very Clean and Spacious. Beware of the price for the Valet Parking.

I liked the historic building. I liked the location. Staff was great. No bummers, our stay was great.

Staff was very attentive and helpful in every single way. Key card entry was secure and multiple protections. Which makes sense since this used to be a literal bank.

The staff was amazing! The room was beautiful and cleanliness was top-notch. Great city views. The parking cost in the area is very high. The noise level from loud cars and motorcycles was really high, but it quieted way down after 10 PM and did not disturb our sleep. Our particular queen bed was a bit sunken in the center, causing a little discomfort when sleeping, but in general we would give high marks to the bedding and pillows.

We loved the rooftop and the friendly staff, but after all the reviews we read, we expected the room to be more spacious. We didn’t even have a view, just a glass window that you couldn’t even look out of. It felt like a prison. The room was clean and the hotel is extremely convenient as we were out exploring most of the time. But make sure to always ask for a suite not a room.

The room was very clean and we were upgraded to a junior suite which was unexpected and nice! Staff was very friendly. The noise from the Gaslamp was pretty excessive late into the evening but that's to be expected. We didn't spend a lot of time on the property because we are out and about. Highly recommend going to the 10th floor for panoramic view of the marina Coronado Island etc. Overall a good stay and we would come back but we would probably ask for a room that doesn't face the main strip.

It was clean, nice rooms setup. Like a 1 bedroom apt. Nice view, great location, although the windows did need some cleaning on the outside. It’s probably better in the summer.? Staff was great, valet was great. Id stay there again. Wasnt able to visit the lower bar area, or the adjacent restaurant… but maybe next time

Very quiet hotel on the 6th floor, don’t even know if I had neighbors, maybe once during the week heard a fire truck or ambulance outside (which is true for any downtown hotel). House cleaning was excellent everyday and near spotless each time. Room A/C and heat was pretty fast, although the jr suites in this hotel are on the small side so easy to get temp to where you want. Amenities are super basic “farmer bothers” coffee (do not recommend, tons of options near by) and non-named shampoo/conditioner wall pump style, but at the rate you are paying for this room, not bad at all. After this stay with a conference at the convention center, for the rate, a pretty good value and location. Valet parking is pricey but that is everywhere and the valet guys were super nice and helpful. Very much a go-to hotel if you don’t want to pay $350/night at the other large chain hotels nearby.

Room was very clean and charming. It was the junior suite and was perfectly sized with a couch and desk. The hotel itself was silent, I wouldn't have guessed there was anyone else staying there except I kept seeing people in the elevator, lobby and elevator. But San Diego isn't silent and on NFL playoff weekend the bar across the street was rowdy until after midnight.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. But so many issues with the hotel itself, the hotel undergoing MAJOR remodeling and you will be effected by it. First and most annoying was NO hot water for either shower or sink the next morning. And the shower handle wouldn't even turn passed the 1/2 way point so I figured it was the shower handle not the hot water itself. So being in a hurry to catch the train I thought I'd just wash up in the sink, no luck there no hot water ever came out of the tap. And it turned out my travel companion who was in a different room on a different floor had the same experience. The "standard" room was overlooking an air shaft, with frosted windows, so very dark inside. No extra blanket, and just a thin blanket on the bed, no bedside table to put things on, no luggage rack, no bath mat or rug to step on getting out of the shower. Lacking in so many of the basics it was like this place had just opened yesterday. The location was fine, but you could tell you were getting into a sketchy area of the Gaslamp district. I would not recommend the hotel even thought the staff was very pleasant, the amount of issues with the rooms couldn't be remedied by friendly kind staff. Stay somewhere else.

My partner and I had a wonderful time! We stayed from Wednesday to Friday, and the street noise very minimal. The front desk agent, Merry, was so funny and kind and gave us an upgrade since it was available! She also told us what was going on around the Gaslamp Quarter and was very helpful during our stay. The valet was also insanely helpful whenever I left items in my car and they happily grabbed them for me! Our stay was nothing short of amazing!
- 1/5
Nothing is WORSE than encountering a KAREN IN PUBLIC. But to deal with one on your vacation, and THEN have them check you in.... Nightmare.... When I asked if there was any comps for an early check in, she give me smirk, laughed and said NOT for free and offered me a higher nightly rate than what was advertised on Expedia or on their website. This place is NOT gay friendly and she's from my experience doesn't seem open to welcoming POC.PLUS my room smelled like weed!
- 5/5
An extremely clean and well kept vintage property. I loved the traditional hotel qualities, mended with modern amenities. A repeat stay is probable.
- 5/5
There was no bar. Staff was nice. Overall good location for Gaslamp area which is a party area.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Everything was amazing! Both of the hotel desk clerks at check-in in the afternoon were so helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Plenty of places to walk to and eat around the hotel. Clean and felt safe!

The staff was especially helpful and very nice. They went out of their way to be helpful with every aspect of the stay. This hotel is great, they staff brings it to another level. Stay here.
- 5/5
As a lover of the beauty, timelessness and history of early 20th century architecture, I can honestly say that I loved staying in this hotel. Its proximity to public transportation and nightlife venues was good for us. We frequently visited the roof lounge and found the complementary coffee bar awesome, as well as the coffee itself. The evening view from the rooftop over the city was amazing. The staff was amazing, too, and so friendly and helpful. My only issue, and it’s a minor one, was the lack of fabric softener on the towels; they were a bit rough. Clean and comfortable with lots of charm. Would definitely stay there again.

We checked in around 10 pm. We had to walk down stairs 7 times to get the room key activated. The security guard had to come up 2x and then the manager had to come with the master key to let us in. The beds are small. Fulls are the biggest size they have. Perfect for kids not so much for adults. Wouldn't stay again.
- 5/5
This hotel is in the perfect place if you want to explore the gas lamp area. The staff was excellent and let me check in early. Very nice room.

I was staying for an event at the convention center, Merry is an amazing person at the front desk and really made the stay special. I was thrilled with this experience and location (in the middle of everything and public transit). Amazing, Amazing. Amazing!
- 5/5
The room was clean and the service staff is great. Great location of the hotel.

- 5/5
Clean. No smells. Comfortable bed. Friendly, helpful staff. Great location with huge number of restaurant options. Yes, if you stay in this active area, there will be noise outside. No fault of the hotel, and the hotel walls itself were very solid. I'm really glad I stayed here and if in downtown San Diego again, will stay here again.

Stayed here for a concert at Petco Park and it was so convenient. Everything was in walking distance and the staff was super friendly.
- 4/5
Shops were nearby. However it’s downtown which is bad for a could reasons. Transients were everywhere, and downtown is filthy. We did walk to a few places nearby, but it was irritating to be hassled everywhere we went. It was a nice old hotel, I love the history. But old buildings were not build for noise reduction, and between the clubs, fights, police, sirens, it was LOUD all night.
- 5/5
Close to plenty of bars, restaurants and walking distance to Petco Park, in the heart of the Gaslamp District. Front desk staff was kind and made check-in easy. The room was spacious and comfortable. The building itself is very unique with its own history, do yourself a favor and look it up. I will stay here again.
- 1/5
I requested a refund due to the outdated hotel. We were in our room for 1 hour and was told I need to contact Expedia for a refund and they couldn’t help me.
- 3/5
Where do I begin? Cons: It’s a hotel/apartment, and the parking is $50+. Once you enter, the place has a distinct smell of an old building (9 hours later, the smell is still stuck in my nostrils), with the scent of age baked in. The room was a hole in the wall and decent, yet creepy because the door was a glass door with gold curtains, reminiscent of those you’d see in a detective's office. Save the money and find another place.
- 5/5
I was upgraded without asking. Two room suite was perfect.
- 5/5
The place is in a good spot to do bar hopping and not have to drive. The staff are super friendly and provide suggestions of places to try.
- 5/5

Very Beautiful Hotel, just a short walk from the night life. Very well situated clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Would definitely rebook this hotel.
- 5/5
Worker’s where nice upgraded us to a Minnie suite for no reason very clean great spot only complain is it does need renovation's upgrades other then that was nice!
- 4/5
Loved that it was walking Distance to dining, shopping and downtown. Hotel was very cute and Clean. Only downside was that the bed was very uncomfortable. However it was manageable for one night.
- 5/5
This was actually a great location and a very clean place to stay in. The parking is valet or you can park yourself in a superset parking lot for a bit more. The rooms were great and spacious and very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
We had a good time down in the club in the basement. Room was too small but clean.

Dear Expedia Customer Service, I booked a standard double bed room through Expedia with Gaslamp Plaza Suites in San Diego for 8/30-9/1. Before booking, I called the hotel directly (Aug 25 at 10:49 PM) and was assured by staff that “double bed” meant two separate beds. Based on this confirmation, I chose this hotel over others. Upon check-in, I was given a room with only one bed. When I called the front desk, staff admitted that standard rooms can come with either two twin beds or one queen, but told me the hotel was full due to Labor Day weekend and the only option was to pay an upgrade fee. I was denied the room type I had specifically booked and confirmed in advance. To make matters worse, the front desk staff treated me rudely, dismissed my concerns, and even laughed and spoke about me in front of other guests—behavior that was extremely unprofessional and humiliating. Those other guest happened to be my extended family. It was a coincidence that we happened to be booked at the same hotel. This experience amounts to false advertising and a breach of my booking terms, compounded by poor treatment. I am requesting a refund or appropriate compensation for not receiving the room type I reserved and confirmed. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing your prompt response. Sincerely, Cynthia Perez Booking Reference Number 73220532686895

What a cute room! We had a great view. Everything was clean. The upgraded suite was much appreciated!
- 5/5
Very convenient closed to all the fun places highly recommend.
- 4/5
Great hotel room setup for the price. Central to most downtown activities, very walkable area. Might not be the best for light sleepers due to the surrounding nightlife. Apart from that, had a great stay, was not bothered by the noise.
- 4/5
Easy check-in. Decent stay. Convenient walking to local restaurants and attractions
- 4/5
Great customer services
- 5/5
Excellent service and room. The check in was amazing! I don't know her name but I'd give her five stars!
- 4/5
Property is really neat. I was there on a Sunday and Monday night. Sunday was really loud cars racing and people yelling. Monday was quiet. You are downtown so there are some homeless and strange folks walking around.
- 5/5
I would have given 5 stars but the building is very old and the walls are thin. I was rudely awoken at 3am by another guest partying with loud music and laughter. The surrounding neighborhood is very lively
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great stay and great for tourist
- 5/5
We loved the location as it was close to everything major in SD. Place was old, but well maintained as it had a lot of cool features that hotels today do not have. Staff was outstanding and all seemed to be proud of what they do. We were very happy while we were there for 8 days and would highly recommend this place. I would have loved to see a gym or workout room there, that was the only thing that I missed
- 5/5
This is a hidden gem! I love that this is a historical building with some cool architectural details. The rooms were spacious and the tiling was super cool in the bathrooms. The cherry on top is the "secret" speakeasy downstairs! 10/10 would recommend.
- 5/5
Great location! Valet parking available I’ll recommend tip at arrival so they treat your care more careful, I have a big truck had a minimal scratch when I pick up. Not a big deal but still hurts.
- 5/5
Professional and courteous staff , very clean
- 4/5
The bed was comfortable and had great cover for the full windows/sunlight. The top level terrace was an amazing view and staff was excellent. The noise from the street however, was so interruptive of sleep up until 1-2am consistently, it was not a place we can stay at and have early morning commitments and full/long days of plans.
- 4/5
Great place and location. Nice rooftop
- 4/5
Staff was friendly, check in easy. Great location , clean, comfortable. Perfect for a weekend trip.

The woman at the front desk was exceptionally happy and responsive. As soon as I walked in the front door and spoke to her, I knew I would love this place. We only stayed one night, but it was very clean and cozy. I would highly recommend it.
- 4/5
I was pleasantly surprised! Room was clean and tastefully decorated.

- 5/5
The staff were super friendly! They definitely care for their customers. Had a bad interaction with someone from across the street yelling obscene words and they came out and made sure we were okay while we got our stuff loaded in.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel with a good view and great staff
- 5/5
I loved staying at this property! The hotel room was clean and the decor was beautiful. All dining was in walking distance as well.

Great location, and awesome free up grade
- 5/5
The Gaslamp Plaza Suites was like a home away from home. I would definitely stay again. Mary was exceptional and made sure that I had everything that I needed.
- 5/5
out of all the hotels I’ve had opportunity to stay in over the years,…I can’t wait to come back. It felt like staying in my own personal apartment. The view is more spectacular than I imagined!!! I was able to see all the fireworks from the rooftop, which made the trip extra special. The furniture was very moder & nicely decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was amazing close to all the restaurants near the gas lamp district. I will request this room for future trips to come.
- 5/5
Nice size room
- 5/5
We enjoyed the roof top area and coffee for guest to have while enjoying the view.
- 3/5
I liked the room. It was nice and newly renovated. Staff was nice. AC was extremely loud! Hotel was loud. Sleep often interrupted by party goers in club below hotel.
- 5/5
My husband and I enjoyed our stay; and, the staff was phenomonal! We highly recommend the Gaslamp Plaza Suites; and, we plan to stay there for future trips to San Diego!
- 4/5
It was nice to stay in an older building as opposed to the more modern hotels. Plus it was in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of Petco Park.
- 5/5
Lived in San Diego county my entire life. Worked in downtown 10 years and yet never spent the night there. I was pleasantly surprised, the staff were funny and very helpful. The roof top deck is amazing, so cool to get that perspective of downtown. It was especially cool that the building is a piece of downtown San Diego history, being a native San Diegan that meant a lot to me.
- 5/5
Clean and friendly. Loved that it was historical, had a great coffee area, and a rooftop terrace.
- 5/5
It was excellent
- 5/5

We had a wonderful stay at the Plaza Suites in the Gas Lamp area of San Diego. The hotel’s location is excellent. It was a quick walk to Petco Park to watch a game and close to so many great bars and restaurants. Our room was super clean and spacious. My wife and I enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Cool old hotel
- 5/5
Excellent place. Right in the heart of great food and drink.
- 1/5
Found a mouse in my first room, let the hotel staff know and they came up to look and found a whole where he could’ve ran on the upper trim in the room, i was moved rooms and given a room with non full door, there was about a 2in gap from the bottom of the door and floor
- 4/5
Please take into consideration that Gaslamp Quarter bars and restaurants are very close and noisy at night.
- 4/5
Parking is insanely expensive, so prepare for that. Valet is somehow $20 cheaper than self parking in the lot for the night. I wish it was complimentary when you're staying there. But the building is beautiful and historical with a gorgeous rooftop terrace. I would definitely stay again.
- 1/5
Bad smell, old & noisy

Beautiful experience
- 5/5
The best thing about Gaslamp Plaza Suites is the staff. Everyone I met was warm, friendly and smiling. The hotel is beautiful, very well maintained, and my room was exceptionally clean, quiet, and well appointed. I am looking forward to my next visit in June.
- 5/5
Great location, very nice old features marble throughout, roomy suites, great rooftop deck with coffee water and tv, very friendly staff.
- 1/5
We asked if we could move rooms but were told that wasn’t possible due to the time of night. We then asked about compensation and were told to check with the front desk in the morning. When we did, we were met with a rude and dismissive response and were told there was nothing they could do — and that they were waiting for us to check out before inspecting the leak. We also paid a $100 security deposit at check-in that we were told would be refunded, but we have not received it yet. We reported the issue promptly and used the room normally, yet the customer service and follow-up were very poor. I hope management takes this seriously and improves how they handle situations like this.
- 3/5
the front desk person was not friendly or helpful. the room was clean and nice. the reason for only three stars is due to the unfriendly staff.
- 5/5
My Husband and I got to the property and the lady at the desk was so nice. We were able to check in early and we were ungraded to a beautiful suite. We had a wonderful and everyone there was so polite. This hotel has tons of character, and I loved it.
- 3/5
I wish I got sparkling clean room for what I paid for. The hotel is old, which I understand and that would be fine as long as its clean. However, it was not
- 3/5
The hotel is very old. It needs a big renovation. Bathrooms smell so bad and the fan was too weak to cover it. Too expensive for that old hotel. Only location is convenient. No parking only valet
- 5/5
Great hotel with a nice living room
