Diamond Head Inn was a nice, clean place to stay. The parking is absolutley horrible. 5 parking spots for 21 rooms. The additional parking had signs posted not to park between the hours of 3am-6am Mon.Fri. Leaving no where to park. If you wanted ice you had to walk two blocks to a sister hotel to get... Its a nice place to stay for one to two nights but no more.

Great stay great property you don’t need a car because everything is right there! If you have one though parking is very limited.

Read the check in instructions prior to arrival. Parking wasn’t bad but pay attention to the street signs if the parking lot is full. Very clean and comfortable.

The location was just perfect. Enjoyed walking on the beach in the evening and during the day as well. Room was comfortable, clean. The small kitchenette/ dining area was not too well thought of. The microwave oven was broken and placed on the table where youre supposed to eat

Great place to stay in Pacific Beach! Its beachfront and the proximity to restaurants and shopping was convenient.

The staff was beyond accommodating! I had a weird travel schedule and they were more than happy to help in any way they could. Storing luggage, allowing for late check out and even an early check in when the room became available!! The room was beyond my expectations and you cannot beat the location. I cannot wait to stay again!

This location is everything!! You are literally right in the beach and just a short walk to amazing cafes, bars and restaurants. Parking was definitely tough. Only five spots for this entire resort is tricky - we were lucky enough to find parking otherwise it would have been a hefty walk from their sister resort (which also didn’t have much parking).

The room was basic but comfortable and clean. I knocked a star off cleanliness because the bathroom sink drain needs to be unclogged (Room 110) -- slow draining. It was surprisingly quiet given its location because it is tucked down its own little alleyway, which gives the room a nice level of privacy. Parking was also surprisingly easy given its location. The location is great, right next to the PB boardwalk and beach. There is some brief ambient noise from (probably intoxicated) people out in the adjacent street late at night, but it is fairly muted in the room. This is just part of the PB night scene. The front desk is a block away at a sister hotel, but the staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location -- on the beach except most of the rooms didn't face the beach or have a view. Right in the heart of the PB restaurant and bar district so you can walk to the fun! Parking was available included in the room price (which can be rare these days)--but be aware your spot may be a couple blocks away depending on availability (i.e., if the closer spots are taken). On the positive side, it was a nice, large room. Well appointed with recent updates in style -- my friend commented on how much she loved the wallpaper. The room included nice design elements such plantation shutters and a tray ceiling. It was very clean and quiet despite the fact that it was in a noisy part of town. The kitchen included an in-room coffee set up as well as a fridge, microwave and two-burner electric cooktop, as well as all the dishes and cooking utensils you might need. Our room had two comfortable queen beds. To be honest, the price seemed expensive for the off-season, but was one of the lowest prices offered by similar hotels in the area, so check this place out if you are looking to minimize spending. All in all, I would stay there again and recommend to friends. Two thumbs up. You should know the check in is at a co-owned hotel a short two blocks away--this was not a problem for us, but good to know going in. I wish it were a bit more affordable--you wouldn't pay this rate for this room if it wasn't right on the beach, but it was so you're paying for the privilege (and it is a privilege -- PB is great).

If you feel like being locked out of your room over five times (including once at 3am) and having to walk a block and a half each way just to get to the management office where they’re incredibly rude to you, then this is definitely this place to stay for you- this place was TERRIBLE and I had to get a refund because I was so upset- I almost had a medical emergency where I couldn’t get to my insulin so this has turned into a legal issue

There was no place to park. I had no place to stay. Fortunately I could find another place to stay. I am considering a claim for compensation for the significant distress and fear caused by being unable to access the property, find parking, or secure accommodations, leaving me wandering in the dark at night.

You have to check in at a separate location that is several blocks away from where you’re staying. If we had to walk with all of our luggage that would’ve been very very difficult. The room itself was fine and roomie. The price was good.

We spent well over $2000 here on rooms for all of my kids and myself over Christmas 2025.Vanessa was by far the star of this resort. She made everything seamless and friendly. She went above and beyond to make our stays exceptional.

SUPER LOCATION and Brand new remodels! I think we were one of the first in our room. Only downside, they were completing the other 16 rooms at the same time. It was noisy during the day and parking was limited by a dumpster taking up 'our' spots.

You have to walk 2 blocks to get your luggage to your room, with no assistance from anyone, limited to no parking for guest. No pool at location for guest. Walk 2 blocks to another hotel for pool.

It's the beach in San Diego for people who can't afford paying $300+ per night. If you're just going to chill at the beach, it's fine, but definitely a 70's motif. Plenty of good food/nightlife withing walking distances.

This place is ok. Definitely an apartment building recently converted into a hotel. There is no office on the premises you gotta check in at another hotel two blocks away. Strange. The room was fine, a little beat up for the price but quiet and comfortable enough. Bed was good enough. But the location was amazing. Right on the beach far enough away from the chaos of the boardwalk but close enough to walk too. I’ll check for other places next time but I’d go back here for the right price.

The standard room with kitchen was recently upgraded and was very comfortable. The kitchen was roomy and the bathroom was quite large and great shower. The kitchen had basic utensils and cookware, however did not have a toaster or dishtowel. The beachfront location was excellent and there were so many shops, restaurants, bars etc within walking distance that our days were filled with the beach activities. Loved the stay and will come again.

The location was great right on the ocean. The room was OK .It is pet friendly. Check out process was super easy. I was a little confused at first because the front desk was not on property. We had to walk around the corner. They did not leave us wash clothes and only had one silver of soap. I called about the TV and they said I had to wait an hour because they did not have maintenance available.

The bathroom smelled like a whole can of bug killer was sprayed and I couldn't tolerate the smell, it was SO BAD!!! The guests next to were so loud all night long, didn't get much sleep at all. I will never go back there again.

The pictures on Expedia were very deceiving. The carpet was all stained. The couches had huge stains on them. The room smelled like mold and was very muggy, the air conditioning unit wasn’t working properly and was very very loud. We could not sleep. We left at 4:30 in the morning because the room was just too inhabitable.

five parking spots for about 20 units is ridiculous specially by the beach. desk worker for check out was rude over me accidentally grabbing her pen to sign. room fans were dusty and window cover was halfway off like if someone tried to break in. did not even stay the night , chulavista ghetto motels are very much accommodating for much lower price.

Property was clean and right near the beach but the room I got was a suite and it was tiny. Checking in was inconvenient. You had to walk a block to another hotel to check in. Mind you, this is also how far you had to walk to an ice machine. Everything in the room was placed oddly. There was a crooked picture frame in the kitchen with a sizeable hole under it. The bathroom was inside my room which made it inconvenient because the other guest sleeping on the pullout bed had to come through my room to the bathroom. There was homeless people walking around the property the whole time which I didn’t like especially since I had my child with me. The outside trashcan was also right infront of my door which caused a problem with seagulls and people constantly walking infront of my room to throw trash. The phone in the room did not work and WiFi was limited to two devices which was another inconvenience.

We really enjoyed how close to the water! Lots of places to get coffee, chill, and eat. WORTH IT just because of that. Lots of Collage Kids!!!!! Lots of people walking around your windows if your on the side. Also the parking is only by luck and i tell you what. we somehow got lucky when we were there.

The parking was terrible, check in was at another property, waking up to old piping smell wasn’t pleasant.

1-Microwave was working but not heating anything. 2-There was no Ice maker in the building. 3- the phone in the room was a joke. It did not connect to anyone.

This hotel was lovely and in a great location! My only issue was that the fridge was leaking in my room and the blow dryer wouldn’t work, and with the reception desk being located a couple of blocks over, I had to walk over there with wet hair to find a solution. But the staff were very accommodating and it was no problem to let me use another vacant room to blowdry my hair :) There are so many amenities close by - I would definitely stay here again!

Mold everywhere this place is nasty. They made me stay in a room They were using a blow torch to clean mold off the walls with is was disgusting. !!! Worst stay I’ve ever had!!!

Check in was a breeze and they allowed an earlier check in without charging an extra fee. Free parking pass was issued for Diamond Inn and/or their sister properties if Diamond was full, which added to the convenience of finding parking.

It was a good stay and very comfortable. It's right next to the boardwalk for the beach and is good for a morning stroll. The only issue is that check in is off site and you need to walk about a block away to check in. This wouldn't be too big an issue if they found a way to communicate this before you check in. I had to walk around the whole hotel just to see a tiny sign on a small door that said check in is a block north.

Great location, only steps from the beach. Onsite parking is very limited. Rooms are nicely furnished but have a damp/musty smell. This is common with all hotels by the beach.

I liked that the property was walking distance to everything but the parking was horrible as it’s beach parking which is hard to come by. Even though we were given a parking pass there really was no where available to use it at the property and ended up parking 3 blocks away. Other than that it was clean comfortable and recommend it

We enjoyed the stay very much. But because there was no advance information on the challenging parking situation and that the check-in was on a separate property, we were pretty frustrated upon arrival. We had to park a block or so away to get to the hotel. Then we learned that the check-in was even further away...then the long walk back to the car, unload it and then find parking at a third property. There should be instructions about this on the website. But, the front desk person was nice and we would stay there again. We would be better prepared for arrival

The property is pet friendly. So be prepared to listen to pets walking and playing around if you are on the bottom floor. And they are above you. Can keep you up. Located close and walking distance to anything you would need. Beach, dining, stores, barbershop etc. Would definitely stay again. But would request top floor next time.

They were so accommodating and definitely made my stay much easier and very comfortable. Contact to the office was easy and she was very very clear.

Great location. Shame had to go to sister hotel to check in . Also a lot of people living out of their vans right outside using showers provided for hotel late at night

It was bright in the room only had shutters. But other then that a really nice place.

The location is great. The facilities are lacking. No onsite support for guests and we had to walk to a different location to check in. Only three windows opened so the room was stuffy and we had to use the AC. the sink faucet was broken. No daily change of sheets. In this case providing the number of towels that the guest is staying would allow for fresh towels daily without room service. As I said great location.

They overbooked the hotel. The only room they had was an out of service room that was hot and humid bc it was right on the beach. My entire intention. I was given a room at their other hotel which was nice, but it was loud and right on mission blvd with street traffic. Not the vibe I paid $150 for.

The location is great—nothing better than being steps away from PB’s boardwalk and beach. However, there’s several other places to stay along the boardwalk in the same price range that are much better. You have to walk to their sister location a couple blocks away to check in, which would be good to know before getting dropped off and having to drag around all your luggage back and forth. The room was clean enough, but was one of their rooms that did not have working AC. The front desk staff said to just use the box fan in the closet, but I ended up also having to sleep with the windows open which wasn’t ideal as a younger female traveling solo. Also would have appreciated safer locking capabilities or at least an inside door lock reinforcer ($8 on Amazon btw lol). Overall it was a room to sleep in, but not somewhere I’d stay at again for my future trips to PB.

Nice charming older beach hotel not great but not bad either … They seem to not have a front desk as when we arrived we saw a not on the office door that we have to check up the street at their sister property…After driving a long trip being hungry this lack of notification did not make me very happy ..We walked up the street maybe 500 yards to their sister hotel and checked in than had to walk back to our hotel ..Our room was ok but a bit drab..We had no view whatsoever so I felt a bit claustrophobic..The shower was fine ..The bed was comfortable but the worst direct tv system and no usb outlets or any thing that resembles anything modern .. We were notified at check I that the main room the AC was not working ..We didn’t need it but still rather unprofessional to rent me a room without proper air conditioning..I did get an extended check out till 12 as the property is right on the boardwalk basically..There are some homeless sleeping on the benches at night but I never felt unsafe walking my dog or joking out to my car ..I wouldn’t pay more than $179 for this room as this is the price I paid for a queen suite

This is a cozy little inn tucked away on pacific beach. Staff was friendly and easy to get along with. I would highly recomend this place for a nice romantic getaway with your significant other.

Front desk was no help with either the delay for check in or parking. They offer parking and it’s on a first come basis. When their limited slots are full You’re out of luck. Security lock for room did not work. I will mention room was adequate and clean

Location to the beach was amazing! Parking is rough and we had to check in at a partnering hotel up the block. That would’ve been good to know ahead of time. But our room was great!

Parking was horrible. Service was inconvenient because we had to go get clean towels at a different location (a block away). Bathroom fan was not working nor can you open the window to let moisture out.

We wanted a convenient and comfortable hotel that gave immediate access to the Mission & Pacific beach walking path, and this place definitely delivered. The bed was comfortable, the A/C worked almost too well, and the shower was very good. Parking is NOT easy (but that should be expected in a tourist heavy beach area), and you'd need to move up a $100 price tier if you want a private parking garage experience. This hotel is owned by a property management group that has a couple other properties within a 3 block radius, so when we were inevitably unable to find parking by this hotel, the very friendly front desk person directed us down the street to another of their properties where I was able to park and walk right back. Eat breakfast at Kono's Cafe!

Check in was at a different property a 1/2 block away. Overall was a good stay.

Loved that the property was minutes away from restaurants, shopping and ocean views. Definitely would stay again.
