The location. The lady when we checked in was unable to help us in trivial matters. Also, they offered a free breakfast for my room but they never mentioned the hours so we didn’t even get to enjoy that. Also, we were locked out of rooms even though we extended the checkout time an hour later.

This area is located to everything in area. I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. When you we fist arrived , we had no iron. The staff brought one up. The next day the air conditioner went out in our room. We had to change rooms.

Staff and valet were excellent. The location of the hotel is satisfactory if you need to stay in the downtown area near Petco Park. The cleanliness of the room, bathoom, and linen, was pleasant. We didn't expect the bed to be so uncomfortable. One side of the bed was very hard, and the other was sunken in (heavily used). The shower drain had a bit of a hard time draining properly; it took a while. The only "safe" parking available is valet, and it is pricey at the daily rate.

Overall the stay was great, although I was on there for the weekend it was nice to feel relaxed and comfortable I did not like the parking situation I had to find street parking because it was $65 to stay over night and I thought that was expensive and I thought I wouldn’t have to worry about parking since I was staying at the property.

Great location and easy access to train, port, downtown. Drinking alcohol is the focus at the property. After a long day of travel you must leave to find any semblance of healthy food. Could not find one green item on the 4 items on the tiny food menu. Meanwhile There are @ 40 fancy high end liquor cocktails described in great detail. They don’t want to feed the hotel guests?? Only give them so much alcohol! Wow!

I was in a room with ada access, and the shower combo failed to deliver hot water.

I had another hotel reservation, but it was not what I needed as a solo female traveler. Basically, I needed to scramble on a moment's notice to find a new hotel to stay at. Not only was Courtyard available, in the right location, it was a good deal. I cannot thank the front desk manager enough for her kindness in the check-in process. I knew immediately upon my arrival that I would feel safe at this hotel. I don't have any complaints or things I disliked. My only suggestion would be to perhaps include a small microwave in rooms along with the mini fridge. Beyond that, zero dislikes during my stay at Courtyard.

We had a problem with AC in our room. Luckily it worked enough not to be uncomfortable but they covered some of our parking fees as a courtesy. Staff were super nice and friendly. If your looking for a place to not sleep this is your place there is a club right outside so all night expect loud base vibrations and we were on the 9th floor we were told ahead of time before booking with staff that we would not hear anything especially on 9th floor and we were told the club will be closed since it’s a Sunday well they were definitely wrong all night no sleep we called and complained and the lady on phone says “well there’s head phones next to the bed” completely disregarding how we felt the music and vibration lasted till 4 Am completely ridiculous the hotel did nothing to help we had to go through Expedia and file a complaint and they were able to get us a partial refund thank goodness for Expedia if it was from the hotel they didn’t want to give us anything at all worst experience!!!

The staff was rude and did not care to fix our room door that would not lock. Creating a huge safety issue, when we went up to the front desk and spoke with the staff they were rude and blew us off and said “sure we’ll fix it” they also did not care that the TV was broken.

I had no problem with the hotel stay, however I used the valet, that was different story. The property uses a third party I believe it’s Ace. After checking out, after getting home, I noticed damage to my Range Rover bottom right bumper. Called the hotel, that’s when they told me they use a third party for valet, gave me their phone number. I called, no answer, left a message. It has been 2 weeks and I have not received a call from them. Note to myself, inspect your vehicle before leaving the facility. I’ve never had this problem with other hotels.

I called valet 5 min before checkout and it took 30+ min to retrieve the car. That’s bananas! She made us wait in the lobby with all of our stuff, it was uncomfortable and not hospitable. Spend the extra $ and stay somewhere that’s run better!

I thought that Marriott had a parking garage with free parking; it turns out that you have to park your car somewhere and get charged $50 or pay their valet parking for $65 a night. It was totally unexpected.

The hotel was right at the heart of Gaslamp which made it convenient to walk to different restaurants and bars! The only thing I didn’t like was that there was no self-parking on the property and valet charged $65/night.

The staff was excellent, my room was spotless, the bartenders were very sweet and had great personalities. The bed was so hard and was impossible to get sleep on. I slept on the couch my last two nights. The location is perfect, you can walk to lots of restaurants.

I spent about $800 for 2 1/2 days here. Beyond outdated. Not enough food at breakfast,.Jacuzzi is broken. You have to walk a half mile to your room. Don’t waste your money. Go somewhere else.

This hotel is easy to get to and from. Appreciated the Extra security with the room key to enter at night. The staff was the friendliest I’ve encountered in all my hotel travels. They are the right balance of friendly, approachable and professional. They definitely went above and beyond my expectations. The room was clean (and I’m picky!), comfortable and family friendly. While we did hear the music that others mentioned in reviews, it wasn’t a big deal and I suppose the tv would have block the music if we wanted, but we didn’t mind at all and it wasn’t more than what I’m used to at other hotels. This hotel felt safe and I look forward to staying here next time in San Diego!

The hotel is ina very convenient place. It’s in the middle of everything. Our room was very small and the window had a view of the wall across from us. Needless to say we kept the curtain closed. I was able to check in early! That was a big plus!!!

Paid for 2 rooms for 2 different people. Had a receipt for the 2 rooms. The desk clerk couldn’t find other reservation. Kept saying it’s under different name. She kept asking for a confirmation number. Finally gave it to her. Then stated oh it’s under a different name. Parking I thought was 65$ for the visit not per day. The key cards needed to be rekeyed couple times.

Nice, clean, and convenient, but for the same price, you should consider staying at the main Marriott down the block instead. The lobby area is bigger, looks nicer when you first enter, and offers cheaper valet parking.

The lobby was under remodeling so it was annoying and there was just one lady checking everyone in and it was taking forever. But the rest was alright.

Confy room, multiple dining options

Valet was 65$, there is no other parking besides pay to park lots downtown that are in the open with homeless people roaming around. We paid for valet for safety. Honestly I don’t think the rates should have been as expensive while under construction. The front ENTRANCE itself was closed and under renovation with tarps everywhere. The bistro was closed due to construction. I do not believe I should be paying 250$ a night 65$ Valet for a basic king room while breakfast is closed/construction and appearance of entire lobby and front entrance and floors of halls are being redone completely. The great thing was location — Gaslamp is dirty and full of homeless (but you expect that now). That was not the issue as we expected that, but the location was great and in walking distance of everything—including right across the street from the club we had tickets to.

Hotel room was good; the music from across the street at Nova was too loud—even from the 12th floor. My car wasn’t valet’d…it stayed on the street all night.

There were no microwaves in the room. I’ve never hear of that in a prestigious hotel!

I only was there in no room service available at the hotel. They did not have a gym available as advertised due to construction. They even had the audacity to charge me an additional $140 for amenities.

Breakfast wasn’t included or dinner and you had to pay :( overall my stay was good and I liked they have the doors locked at night and you had to use your hotel card.

The hotel room was not very clean. The shower floor still had water marks and the faucet in the bathroom was hard operate. The bathroom was small and it didnt have alot of space to put your toiletries. I felt the springs on my back in the bed when I slept. It wasnt a comfortble bed. The hotel did not have a microwave and we had to go all the way to the first floor to use the microwave.

Great hotel and reasonable prices. Rooms are very small, but beds are comfortable and room was spotless. Starbucks on site and great rooftop patio with great views of the city. Overnight public parking garage available short walking distance should you not wish to use hotel valet service. Staff really friendly and helpful! Thanks for a great stay!

This is what I call a hidden gem. I go to San Diego a lot and mostly stay at the bigger hotels. This location perfect, it’s clean, it’s in the heart of the gas lamp district and they have a great staff. Shout out to Eva who took care of us. Got my chips.

Ot was a pretty clean, safe, and friendly place. But it was hard and expensive to access parking.

Well located clean hotel

My room was very nice and the staff was super friendly. I loved the rooftop bar. Only 2 small negatives.. bathroom lighting is totally inadequate and the water coming out of the sink faucet was barely a trickle.

The hotel and room were great, but I could not deal with the outside noise. I am not sure if it was from cars or the night club. I do not recommend this hotel if you are a light sleeper. Also, there is no parking. Valet is $60/night. There are nearby garages.

30 min to check in, room window faced machinery and concrete wall. Was told all king rooms have the same view. Horrible customer service

Everyone was super nice and the place was very clean.

The hotel was in a great location. Clean (although there was a bad smell in the lobby which didn't go away over time). My room was nice, but very conpact. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Room is tiny!!

I chose this hotel because of the convenient location to Petco Park. The Courtyard Marriott is small but the staff is super helpful, it is clean, and it is located by a bunch of restaurants and bars. We used the valet parking and it was worth the $60 because parking in the area is limited. All in all it was a nice overnight stay and I would stay there again.

Paid SO much for a tiny room with no view. Looked out the window and only saw a brick wall.no room service no pool. Hotel room is very very very small. Have to valet here. Extra $60. But it’s perfect walking distance to bars and Petco park

The old water was very hard to get to work. The water was scolding hot. When i called to ask for help she told me she would get back to me that the engineers were not on site so there wasn't much she could do and she never reached out again. We had reservations so we had to shower with the hot water and go. Till this day she hasn't even asked how it was. Very rude and dismissive

Check in was at four, we got there around five thirty was told room still wasn’t available. Didn’t get our room till six

Great location in central Gaslamp district, close to Petco park, great wifi and aircon, friendly staff. I would highly recommend this property.

Everything was centralized with the hotel.
