    Outstanding Hospitality and Rooftop Experience. The rooftop experience was exceptional, and the staff truly enhanced it.     Sink faucet was leaking. Shower was having problems. The room had poor lighting. The pillows were extremely stiff. All other Andaz’s I have stayed at have been great besides this one.

    I really enjoyed my stay here. Everything was very organized and the place felt fancy without being over the top. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the valet service made everything easy and convenient. I also really liked the restaurant and rooftop bar — they were definitely highlights of the stay. Overall, a really great place and I’d stay again One thing I didn’t like was that even though dogs are allowed, there wasn’t really any designated dog area outside like most places usually have. It wasn’t a huge issue, just something that could make the stay more convenient for pet owners. I also noticed that the room I booked online wasn’t exactly the same as the one I received at check-in, but the room was still very comfortable and overall I still enjoyed my stay

    I asked to upgrade my room to two beds and they did not mention I was getting an ADA room. The view was to a homeless encampment across the street. The streets were so dirty.

    There was lots of homeless around the property. The roof top pool was warm but the food was over price in my opinion. I was afraid of walking outside at daytime but at nighttime i felt more safer because theres more people. I didnt like how the queen size room had glass wall. There was no privacy lol. You can hear every sound lol

    2 hours ago Also we had the rooftop booked yesterday for 8 people in the lounge area and when we arrived at our designated time we were told they didn't have any space available for us. They then proceeded to seat us in the closed area, it was at least 20 min before we saw any server. For the amount of money we paid for this hotel we would expect to have a clean room and steller service, of which we had neither. We need to be refunded for our stay. This was the worst experience we have had at a hotel, let alone a "high end" hotel.

    The windows of the shower weren’t clear and need to be cleaned to get the soap scum off and maybe something to help defog them. That would help to enjoy the experience. There wasn’t much in the zen area but quiet. You have to walk thru the restaurant to use the pool so definitely not for recreation swims, more for rooftop vibes. Overall, good experience would recommend.

    This hotel is overpriced, a block away from homeless in tents. The guy that checked us in charged one of the rooms I had prepaid for our full 2 night stay and then said oops sorry I can't reverse the charges. Terrible customer service and outdated, overpriced rooms. Beware, avoid staying here.

    The location was nice, the lobby was beautiful as well. STK was great. That was about it. For the price and staying at an “Andaz,” this hotel severely underdelivered. The room was extremely small, had a noticeable smell, and the shower knob had already fallen off and was sitting on the shower floor when we arrived. The tables in the room were dirty and almost looked rusty (see photos). The rooftop experience was even worse. Staff were rude and moody, and when we brought half-full wine glasses from our room, one staff member told us it was fine as long as they were poured into plastic cups. However, the bartender immediately began acting like we were breaking a serious rule, pretending security was watching him. He then rushed both my girlfriend and me to finish our wine, repeatedly saying “come on, come on, you need to do it now,” as if we had to finish our drinks within seconds. Because of how he handled it, I chose not to buy drinks from the bar at all. Had he acted normally, I would have happily purchased rounds from the rooftop bar. We were also told seating at the pool was first-come first-serve unless marked reserved. Since hotel check-in isn’t until 4 PM, we simply asked if we could temporarily place our towels on a reserved spot so our belongings wouldn’t sit on the floor. We were told no. Ironically, the pool closed and no one ever showed up to use the reserved section. Additionally, the bathroom design was extremely poor. The shower doors were not properly sealed, so every time we showered the entire bathroom floor flooded with water. For a hotel at this price point and under the Andaz brand, basic things like this should absolutely not be happening. The only positive experience of the entire stay was dining at STK inside the hotel. Otherwise, after spending roughly $700 within about 12 hours between the room and food, what was supposed to be a relaxing retreat to San Diego ended up being extremely disappointing. I normally don’t write reviews, but this stay unfortunately warranted one. I won’t be staying here again.

    It had a lot of art and was very clean. The valet was quick and friendly. The rooms were cozy. The food was delicious and it's located right in the middle of all the shops and bars. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again. The room was cozy big shower, very updated, good views from rooftop with comfy seating bar and restaurant and fire pits The pool closed at sunset which was early this time of year.

    Staff was wonderful and Hotel room was great. But this area of San Diego has a terrible homeless problem. There are many homeless lining the streets adjacent the hotel. One person stalked me and my dog when I was out walking him and tried to pet him even though I told him to get away. It was very concerning. It’s a shame because Andaz is a great brand.

    The Staff seemed very friendly and helpful. The Room was nice and clean. The hallway leading to my room looked to have water damage and fans blowing on the wall. I am not sure why, but the air in the hallway leading to my room had like a stuffy humid feel. There was an door right before I could access my rooms door and also another room. Unfortunately, the person in the room across from me kept yelling and screaming on my second night stay. I called the front desk a couple of times because it was was like 2 in the morning and I wanted sleep. I heard security come up and the hotel guest who sounded really drunk yell at security. Not sure why, but the drunk guy then proceed to open and close his door like every 3 to 5 mins. Overall I am not sure I would stay here again, but I did like the staff.

    I was a bit disappointed to learn upon check in that there was a "pool party" going on at the hotel. I only picked this property due to the pool and proximity to Gaslamp. I wanted to unwind after a long day of moving my son into his apartment and ended up having to share a pool area with a ton of young adults and a loud DJ. There were no seats at the pool but we were able to sit at the bar to get a drink. The hotel was very loud at night, so much so that they have ear plugs and white noise machine on the night stand. I'll think twice about staying here again.

    Not worth the cost per stay I was expecting a lot more considering the room rate. Majority of the front desk staff were rude and made us feel very unwelcome. Me and my wife didn’t get any info about the hotel, the room was very small the bathroom is tiny and had mold, coffee maker was sticky. The pool was unavailable for use due to a private event Saturday and Sunday no one told us this in advance I would have reconsidered the booking will not being staying again and will more than likely avoid Andaz properties in the future

    There was no help with luggage at all, the room had a view of the wall next door, and the worst part was that between the bathroom and the room, there was a glass wall with zero privacy. Even if I were on the trip with my significant other, I would be extremely uncomfortable. My friend and I ended up using the bathroom in the lobby. When we expressed our discomfort to the concierge, they explained to us that they were fully committed but did not offer any compensation or resolution for the awful discomfort of a very expensive room.

    The Andaz San Diego was great! It was perfectly located to do all of the must-do's in San Diego, and it was a really nice property with helpful staff. The first room we had was above STK, which was a bit too loud for us traveling with a toddler, but they were great about moving us, and the new room was great. We'll stay there again and would recommend it to anyone going to San Diego!

    Was SHOCKED to discover the $65/day parking fee (Valet only - more on this later) and the $40/day Resort Fee (I shouldn't be shocked at this shameless industry-wide tactic). Hotel was grossly understaffed with the front desk agent parking our car, schlepping our luggage as well as checking us in. Valet parking was unexplainably expensive with ONE valet attendant having to drop off and fetch your car from some distant car parking lot. A number is provided to call for your car, but twice it went to voice mail that was not even set up. The wait to get your car was in our case about 45 minutes and we missed an important business meeting as a result. The room was equipped with a white noise machine and earplugs (I can only guess why, but then we didn't stay over a weekend). Finally, the hot water in the shower was a mystery. In addition to having very low water pressure, the time it took for hot water to get to the room was annoying - as well as figuring out (finally) that in order to get hot water at all, you needed to turn the handle 2/3rds of the way to the red dot. Coffee in the lobby was luke warm with coffee grounds in it. On the positive side, the room was nice, clean, bright and modern - and right in the middle of the famous Gaslamp District. We will not be staying here again.

    I would not stay here again. Homeless camps steps away from the property. Did not feel safe to walk around at night. Didn’t spend much time in the room but when we did the tv did not work and they could not resolve. Loud barking dogs on our floor. Room and lobby area were clean. Never made it to the rooftop bar or restaurant. Disappointed.

    Facility is fine. There was an error in my checkout bill and the person corrected it. That’s why I always have my bill printed out to make sure it’s correct before leaving the hotel. There was no welcome letter in the room so you don’t know what’s complimentary. I had to ask the front desk. Snacks and small water bottles in the room were complimentary which was nice.

    The front desk host was an amazing person. After a long drive from Las Vegas with kids, he really helped us feel at ease and accommodated our room to be in better condition and more spacious for the kids. I believe his name was Tyler. He was working Friday June 16 in the afternoon around 4:30. Because of him , we will definitely come back .

    Listed as having onsite EV charging but Valet informed me that they do not charge my car nor is there charging available onsite. Valet people were very rude about it to like they were bothered that I asked. If an admin from the hotel reads this, please remove that amenity from the list of amenities on the Expedia listing, since it is not accurate.

    Beautiful place and wonderful people. They try very hard to compensate for the noise of the area (ear plugs, white noise machine), however, that cannot compensate for the DJ onsite during the weekends. The DJ was on the roof and we were on the second floor and could feel the sound. As we were already exhausted and jet-lagged this was not appreciated. We loved it the rest of the week but would not return if we had to stay on a Friday or Saturday.

    This hotel was very clean but weirdly dusty. Take a right outside the hotel and you have a bunch of awesome restaurants and clubs. Take a left and there are blocks of homeless people (it was very sad to see).
