Super 8 by Wyndham San Antonio Downtown NE

The website is very misleading: they stated there would be breakfast and breakfast consisted of juice or coffee and a granola bar. The halls smelled of burnt fish curry (that’s the closest thing I can think of to describe the smell). I was charged $100 on top of the cost of the room for a deposit. The room was damaged in several places including no smoke alarms (I thought that was required by law!). I took pictures so that I was not charged for the damages, I informed the desk clerk and was told “yeah, they know about the damages”. I also woke up with bites around the side of my waist, I’ve never had bedbug bites so I’m not entirely sure but I was in the bed when I sustained them. Please do not stay here!! I will also be cancelling my Wyndham account, any corporation that endorses these type of establishments, I want no part of.

During a brief visit to San Antonio, I stayed here. If you want quick access to the highways and downtown, this is a great location. The front desk staff made the check-in process easy and were incredibly friendly. Overall, the stay was enjoyable because my room was tidy and cozy.

It was somewhere my kids and I can get some rest. The room was like a sauna when we first arrived, and the AC never really helped it was uncomfortable until we finally fell asleep and wasn’t thinking about it. The TV had limited channels really only news and infomercials on to watch. I paid for a room to include breakfast and there was no breakfast provided. And I really feel like it’s crazy that the security deposit was more than what I actually paid for the room, and still really didn’t get what I paid for.

The hotel itself was in ok conditions for the price. The front desk staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable however we did find bed bugs in the morning after having several bites. Also the elevator made loud sounds that gave the feeling of it not being secure or safe. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Unfortunately, it looks nothing like the pictures. But for the price and being close to the army base, it served the purpose.

During this trip, my parents stayed with me, and we were very grateful for the hotel staff's multilingualism. They answered a few questions with clarity and patience. At night, the area also seemed serene and uncrowded.

The location is ideal for touring San Antonio without having to spend a lot of time stuck in traffic. The check-in procedure was easy, and the rooms were tidy and warm. Overall, I had a hassle-free stay that greatly eased my quick trip.

Clean hotel but rooms are far from noise proof. The next room over was loud til 3 am so much so I hardly slept

The front desk employees were really friendly and patiently addressed all of my inquiries. They even provided excellent suggestions for local eateries and tourist destinations. It's pleasant to experience genuine assistance during a brief visit to the city.

Clean room, staff was very friendly and offered prayers for my husbands procedure. Mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable, ice machine was broken, but we were able to buy ice at a store nearby. Aside from the mattress, everything was fantastic.

If there was a NEGATIVE 5 star option this property would be the winner ... bed bugs , dirty sheets ,dirty towels ... disgusting hotel should not have the Wyndham name associated with it

They advised breakfast online and when checking in only to find out their idea of a breakfast is to hand out granola bars and have juice out. ? with a child with us that was a bit of an inconvenience

Please please I beg you if you are reading this review, Never stay here. The worst motel in the world. Next to the highway and train tracks and loud noise all day and night. You won’t be able to sleep at all. Nothing in this hotel is good. Every dollar you spend here is a waste. There are bed bugs, rats in the room, and the toilet does not work.please stay away, Even if you get a good deal it is not worth it. Every dollar you spend elsewhere might be worth more. Sick dirty dangerous place.

Hotel had an odor when first walking in like something died in the walls. Room was in disrepair electrical outlets hanging out ceiling crumbling. No maid service daily nothing. No continental breakfast no morning coffee nothing. I tried to find another hotel but at time I went everywhere was booked.

The location was good Didn't have breakfast The fan in the bathroom was too noisy and the coffee machine was not working properly and when we did get some there was no sugar or creamer.

The room had a bad smell, the TV didn't work. The person at the front desk wasn't any help with anything. My 2nd room has crumbs in the bed when I first checked it out, the water pressure was extremely low in the shower this room also had a smell.

This hotel is perfect if you're looking for a simple, clean place without going over budget. The rates were fair and the room had everything you needed. Ideal for tourists who simply want a cozy place to sleep while visiting San Antonio.

Despite its simplicity, the room was surprisingly large. The air conditioning functioned flawlessly, which was a welcome respite from the heat, and the beds were tidy and cozy.

The staff was rude i do not understand when it was paif up front why a deposit is required. As i was walkkng out of my room to start loading ny car the housekeeping staff rudely asked if i was done. As i was wqlking out there was two families complaining of bed bugs on the second floor. I was not able to open the outside door with my key even though it says to use room key to open. I had to walk around 3 times.

We stayed 1 night and stay was great. I traveled with 5 kids mostly teens and had no issues. Our room was clean with comfortable beds.

Place was filthy. Pubic hair on toilet seat. Bathroom smelled like sewage. And housekeeping came knocking at our door at 10am despite having a do not disturb sign on the door...checkout is at 11am! Not a good experience for us.

Nothing No chair in the room. The staff was unprofessional, kind of rude... It's my first time to see an hotel with no seat in the room. You have to beg them for a chair and they could not find one. It's more like a shelter than an hotel. Some improvements will be appreciated. I travelled from Europe but I didn't like my stay in this property this time. In last October 2025 I was there for two weeks, a staff was there and they did a great job. This time I was disappointed. We don't require much, just the basics for an hotel room, especially when someone booked many days ahead, you should have time to prepare the room for the guest. They didn't care about who is coming!!!

I spent a night here, and the outdoor pool was ideal for a quick swim in the afternoon. After a long drive, the stay felt more revitalising because it was clean and well-maintained.

The staff wasn’t very hospitable. As long as you didn’t need anything and just stuck to your room all was good, also the pool couldn’t be swam in. Maybe it was the off season but I don’t see that when I booked.

We had been staying here for days while on a road trip, living out of a suitcase. The laundry room was hygienic, reasonably priced, and greatly simplified things. We didn't anticipate that level of convenience from a low-cost establishment, but it was helpful when we needed it most.

I do not recommend, unless you’re desperate. NO ELEVATOR which is a huge inconvenience. It has been out of service for quite some time, apparently, so this says a lot about the ownership/management. They don’t care. They wouldn’t even give me a first floor room that I requested when I booked online 24 hrs in advance. The room was extremely hot and didn’t cool down until around midnight. There was still hair on the toilet and tub. There was a large space between the door and frame so anyone could see in. I taped up some paper to block it. And they have NO BREAKFAST. Not even coffee. I do not recommend, unless you’re desperate. NO ELEVATOR which is a huge inconvenience. It has been out of service for quite some time, apparently, so this says a lot about the ownership/management. They don’t care. They wouldn’t even give me a first floor room that I requested when I booked online 24 hrs in advance. The room was extremely hot and didn’t cool down until around midnight. There was still hair on the toilet and tub. There was a large space between the door and frame so anyone could see in. I taped up some paper to block it. And they have NO BREAKFAST. Not even coffee. I had asked for a downstairs since my husband is disabled. They instead put us upstairs and the elevators were broke. Pool was really dirty as well.

Great stay. Would do again. Only drawback is the noise coming from the hiway and especially the trains, which blow horns several times at night. Otherwise, the facility is good, clean, and the staff is great.

For the price, this was a great property. Front desk staff were friendly. Room was clean and maintained. Close proximity to Ft. Benning. Would definitely stay here again if in San Antonio.

The rug itself was sticky in my room. The wall had damage on it, but the bed was well made and clean. The facilities were well maintained, however the caulk on the corners of the shower in the walls were missing. I didn't mind the elevator not working, but it was difficult walking up and down two flights of stairs alone with a 2 year old and several bags.

The two ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were very small and the toilet was way too close to the sink. We had two rooms and the bathroom in the double bed didn’t even have a toilet paper holder. I don’t expect this in a hotel that I’m paying money to stay in. The sinks also had dings in them. It was good for a night but wouldn’t stay more than a night or two.

All you'd expect from a Super 8. The establishment was clean and in good shape. We were able to get connecting rooms, which was great.

I found the room dirty ( hair in the sink and tub, candy crumbs in the floor, missing light bulbs). The property dirty and rundown. There is a busy train track across from the property (trains run all night long). There are better choices in the area.

Room was clean. Price was reasonable. Bed was very uncomfortable. Old mattress. Odors in the hallway and lobby. Fairly friendly customer service.

First, it smelled like a wet, decaying dog and moth balls inside the whole hotel. My room was no different. The plumbing was really wonky and the best you could get from the shower was Luke warm. The vinyl wood flooring was coming up and creating tripping hazards. The noise was the most upsetting. There was an Indian lady working nights and was constantly screaming into her cell phone outside my room at all hours and waking me up. I reminded her politely each time and she still randomly started again later. I asked repeatedly for a wake up call and they never called or knocked until my last day checking out.

Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. This place was BEYOND horrendous. If there was an option, I would not rate any stars. Smelled awful upon arrival and we felt like we smelled like the place even after we left! Walls and windows are paper thin therefore you can hear EVERYTHING! Neighbors had kids yelling and jumping all night, you would’ve thought they were in our room from how thin the walls were. The room also smelled beyond disgusting, some linens were soiled, carpet in the room was sticky and the sink in the restroom was hanging on by a thread. It was an unsafe area with homeless people trying to get in. The one star that is rated will have to be for the lady named Journey, at the front desk. She was nice and personable. Other than that, this place is awful and I don’t know how it’s still in business. Oh and let’s not forget they charge you a $100 deposit at check-in to ensure there are no damages to your room upon check-out! We paid cash and took pictures of the transaction and the room and any damages we found because that’s how shady the place is. You can pay cash or card, but if you pay with card of course you have to wait 5-7 business days for your money to be returned! RIDICULOUS to ask for that deposit when the state of the hotel is in such poor conditions. Luckily, we only stayed one night because it was spur of the moment type thing, BUT do yourself a favor and save your money and book elsewhere.

They wouldn't give me a late check out when I didn't arrive til 4:30 in the am un planned just was tired driving so I went to closed hotel I ask to have only extra 30 mins late check out will never return
