    Our toilet stopped up twice. The second time, there was no one on duty to come to unstop it, but I was told I could come down and get the plunger to do it myself. I had the know-how, so it was quick and no problem. Overall, the hotel was nice with the exception of a very slow elevator, and towel shortage.

    Nice location AC goes on and off as in many other LaQuinta / Wyndham hotels which means room get cold and warm every time that happens. Booked a room with 2 beds via booking.com and hotel receptionist said they only had 1 bed rooms and to take it up with booking.com as it was not their problem.

    check in time was at 3pm and no rooms were ready was told we would have to wait but I was on a time schedule and could not wait.     Cool breezes off the Gulf I didn't like the non hotel patrons taking our parking spaces while they went clubs to clubs & bar hopping. I did mention that problem to front desk personnel upon check out Sat morning. When it's hot, it's hot in San Antonio. Friendly reminder: My family & I came to San Antonio on free sponsor by military in 1991 during Desert Storm. Those are the only times I have been to San Antonio, TX.

    Welcoming staff. Bring information about vehicle because they need to give you parking pass. Good maps/information. Walking to River Walk and Alamo and area/mall around Alamo not too far, but the way doesn't feel super safe in the evening. I didn't try pool. Breakfast is breakfast = plenty of it, nothing fancy.

    I stayed here twice now on my visit to San Antonio. It’s a convenient location within walking distance to downtown coffee, shops, and restaurants within about 15 minutes and one thing I really like is there is a H-E-B grocery store right across the street so anything you need you could just pop over there. They’re open till 7 AM to 10 PM. That’s super convenient. The hotel serves a breakfast every morning 7 to 930 wasn’t really my cup of tea but if you’re on a budget and you’re hungry, of course why not get some eggs and some coffee and some fruit but like I said I like the location I’ve stayed in the actual downtown by the Riverwalk and I’ve stayed at the La Quinta and I actually like the La Quinta so far cause you’re kind of away from all the madness a little bit not that it gets too crazy but sometimes does get a little crazy on the river wall but anyway I recommend it. It’s it’s a nice budget hotel and it’s clean friendly staff.

    Room was pretty good. Clean bathrooms. Nice bed and great location to go anywhere downtown san antonio. Pool was also pretty nice. The people at the front desk were acting like they didn't want to be there was told at 2:45 that i have go wait until 3 to check in as room wasnt ready but then was told by another staff member it has been ready for a while. The ac was extremely loud and making cracking noises and the restroom only had 1 roll of toilet paper and not many towels. The elevator is extremely slow and the room doors slam loud waking you up at night.

    Liked how close it was to downtown. We were able to go places walking without having to take are car out. And next to a HEB. Very one was so nice when we walked in and answered the question I had. Pool was also nice. The rooms also big, I got 2 beds and even a couch bed. Every thing was pretty good didn’t really have much to complain about.

    When we arrived at the hotel it looked great, but when we got to our room the first thing we noticed was a strong mildew smell. Only later did I notice the mold growing on the ceiling and walls. We tried to put our snacks away in the fridge but noticed it was broken, and smelt terrible like mildew. There was long curly black hair left in the shower from what I imagine was the previous guest and the shower not fully being cleaned. Personally, I would not stay here again. It was in a okay location in relation to being able to access the downtown area by foot, but that does not make up for the growth of mold, and the lack of cleanliness.

    One front desk staff member was especially polite and attentive, and the location is convenient for staying downtown. The main issue were cleanliness and maintenance. The room had a humid smell and was dusty. The elevator was also slow. The breakfast was not very apetizing, and there were dead roaches observed in the dinning area. Overall, cleanliness and upkeep need significant improvement, and staff training in these areas may be necessary.

    Breakfast okay.The first room we got the fridge was dirty and wasn't working.The bedsheets had the same color of red stain of food too.We got a different room as soon as we told the lady in front desk.The beds are so firm felt like I was sleeping on the floor.Plus,they are full size.Online it says queen.Usually,at other hotels I've stayed they are queen.You can hardly fit 2 persons on it.The pool was okay.But,it was dirty like they don't clean it.My husband was taking the leaves out.And cleaned the filter it was full of leaves and other debris.Will have to think about staying at this hotel if we pass through town again.

    Clean, close to downtown and lots of attractions but removed enough to be quiet and have PARKING! Place smelled amazing. I have zero complaints other than parking can be hard to come by if it's at night. There was a security guard in the parking lot at night which was wonderful though. Breakfast was just ok. We will definitely stay here again.

    Upon arrival, I noticed multiple issues that suggested the room had not been properly cleaned. There were thick red stains on the sofa chair, food crumbs on the pull-out couch, and additional crumbs throughout the carpet. The bathroom also appeared dirty, and the towels provided were yellowed and did not appear clean. In addition, the room had a strong humid or musty smell that made the environment uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the television in the room did not work during our stay. These issues collectively created a disappointing experience. Additionally, a friend staying in the room next to mine reported that when they arrived, there was feces left in the toilet, which is extremely concerning from a sanitation standpoint. I reached out via email to let them know and they just responded with a standard reply and no one reached out. This was probably the worst hotel stay that my family and I have experienced. Shorten it for a corporate complaint to the brand.

    When we arrived, the hotel informed us they had overbooked and downgraded us to a basic room with only a stand-up shower. We were never notified beforehand, which eliminated any chance to make alternate arrangements or use our travel insurance before check-in. The hotel later admitted they overbooked the room category we reserved. We spent a significant portion of our trip dealing with staff and trying to fix a problem the hotel created, causing us to miss the concert we traveled there to attend. The next night, they moved us to a room with a jetted tub — except the tub didn’t even work. The main amenity we paid extra for was never provided at any point during the stay. Calling the downgrade “equivalent” is absurd. A standard room without the primary advertised feature is not remotely comparable to the room that was booked and paid for. Both the hotel and Expedia failed to provide a meaningful resolution. This was a completely unacceptable experience caused by poor management, dishonest handling of the reservation, and failure to provide the accommodations that were sold to us.

    Was at first very happy with the hotel, staff was great room was great and spacious we stayed for 2 nights and on our second day we went out quite early exploring the city in our rush to leave we forgot to leave a tip for housekeeping, not usually a problem we'd just leave double the next day, when we returned later in the day we was worn out and needed a rest, upon entering the room we immediately noticed a unpleasant spell that most definitely wasn't there when we left, the room had been cleaned by housekeeping so we found it a bit strange, we both kept spelling this very unpleasant spell but couldn't figure out where it was coming from, after some time we found the spell to coming from one of the pillows on the bed, it stunk of foul drains or excrement it's then we guessed it must have been housekeeping that had done this for us forgetting to leave a tip, we are frequently travelling all over and stay in a lot of hotels if we forget to tip one morning we'll just tip more when we leave, it's disgusting that they'd do this for not leaving a tip, of course I can't prove that they did it but I know 100% it didn't spell like that when we left in the morning, housekeeping also knocked on the door and walked right in just after we had arrived back the room had already been cleaned and she looked shocked we was in and just spoke in broken English and gave me 2 small towels which we already had, it wasn't until later we realised what they had done to a pillow I'd never stay here

    could stay in this disgusting filthy room. They were nice enough to give us a key to a room on the 6th floor. It smelt like pot! We contacted Expedia to help us which they did since the hotel would not give us a refund. Thanks Expedia. I do not have any idea how this hotel gets good reviews for the cleanliness. Even the headboards, wooden, were filthy. Parking was okay though and front desk fellow was polite.

    I wanted to love this hotel so much more than I did. I think everyone will agree that the elevator situation was beyond intolerable.....slowest elevators EVER and that was when they worked. They were inoperable for most of the week we stayed. We did not request clean towels every day as we do try to be conscious of the environment. But the 2 times we did, we never received more than one washcloth. One upon arrival and one the rest of the week....had to request more every time. The room was spacious though. We are not slobs but the beds were never made nor were toiletries replaced unless specifically requested. Had to catch the cleaning lady on several occasions to request replacements. The breakfast buffet was typical but always well stocked, clean and with plenty of seating. We only used the pool area once but found most of the chaise lounge chairs in terrible condition (ripped & dry rotted) although the seats around the tables were in better shape. The location was decent with a bus stop nearby and easy access to the highway. Overall, we were not overly impressed & doubt we would recommend this hotel.

    We were impressed with the layout of our room. The bed was comfortable. We were about 25 minutes walk from the Riverwalk. The walk was doable and safe. An added bonus was having HEB market place across the street. We got sushi, sandwiches, and pizza for dinner during our stay there.

    The Facility was fine. I did notice dampness on the carpet and when I took the clothes out of the closet the carpet was even more moist. I reported this and maintainence was addressing it. I needed new batteries for the remote. I was given one of the remotes the use in the lobby. It could use new batteries too. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was spacious with a nice counter area and refrig below. I would stay there again.

    Upon arrival, I noticed some cleanliness issues. I typically do a quick clean of the shower and tub after checking in, and there was visible hair in the drain. Additionally, out of the six jets in the tub, only two were functioning, which was disappointing given that this was a key feature of the suite. The headboards on the beds were also quite dusty. Another inconvenience was the elevators—they were extremely slow and not very useful, as taking the stairs was much quicker. Overall, with better attention to cleanliness and maintenance (especially the tub and elevators), this could be a very nice hotel for a short stay.

    One elevator worked, the rest were out of order. For a large hotel, this meant lines at the one functional elevator and / or multiple flights of stairs that were not fun with baggage in tow. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Rooms were spacious but walls are thin and gap at entry door meant you could hear all the hallway traffic.

    The room was very clean visually, but the air filter in AC was causing a loud rattle keeping us up the first night. The toilet lever was broken and made it very difficult to flush properly. Make sure and bring an extra contact case. Housekeeping threw away our contact case and we had to go to the store to buy a replacement.

    Drove over 5 hours to get there just for them to tell me they gave my room away that I had booked months in advance, over charged my card causing my account to go in the negative and they refuse to speak with me or my boyfriend about it and will not return any of the 85 messages we have left for the "manager" either.     Room had old office chair all torn and tub had water no draining wall had float tape puffing up.. Had only one elevator working and was the slowest one I've ever been on. The icing was when we got back from walking at the river walk to find oit elevator was not working and was told is was over heared and not working to wait for it to cool down waited for over 45 minutes and nothing had to take the stairs to the 5th floor with bags from stores.. Not good ... worst place... get it together and sad thing had rented 2 rooms for parents and was a waste of money..

    Free parking was very nice and the market across the street was great for anything you needed include ordering a pizza! The room had some mildew in the bathroom and the tub did not drain completely because it is not on an incline towards the drain. The rest of the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The cleaning staff refreshed our room each day, and that was appreciated. The pool is bigger than I expected but all of the lounge chairs were ripped.

    The room, especially the bathroom was so filthy. There was a large, gross stain in the tub, and there was a used dirty towel hanging on the hook in the bathroom. This leads me to believe that they didn't clean the bathroom at all before we showed up. The toilet paper roll was almost gone and there was no back-up roll available. We had to run downstairs late at night to get another roll from the front desk.

    The staff wadnt very welcoming when we checked in. If this was the only issue I would have overlooked given 5 stars since anyone could have a bad moment. The #1 reason i booked this hotel over the other 2 I had saved was because of the free wifi, more spacious room, and the jetted bathtub. The wifi was horrible and didn't work most of the time. The jetted tub shot out large black debris when turned on. The room was very spacios and in a decent location.

    The room was very spacious, which was a plus. However, the water pressure in the shower was quite low. The USB outlet for charging my phone did not work, which caused my phone to be discharged the next morning. There was also a lot of noise — sounds from the hallways and adjacent rooms were clearly audible. Additionally, an elevator malfunction occurred when someone got stuck, just as we were about to use it.

    Rooms were clean, however the bath tub was old and damage with rust in the drainage, plus drainage was clog leaving water accumulate for a long time. Overall not working or unsanitary. Mold in some areas of the bathroom. The a/c made more noise than a farmer old tractor. Tried to request another room, was told this is normal, to try take a shower that way or wait until next day for unplug the tub, that all rooms have the same issue and don’t have any room available. After a second intent I was granted one Finally, asked for an adjustment on cost and was denied because it is with Expedia, Not sure if the worst rooms are reserved for expedia or hotel.com. Overall, not the best experience.

    It was a good size suite, that was nice. The beds were smaller than expected. The tub clogged and was old so I wasn't able to give my daughter a bath prior to her competition. Breakfast was a expected, was happy to see waffles (don't care to eat off of Styrofoam plates (not healthy)

    The room was big but amenities were old and air conditioning was loud. Hair dryer didn’t work. Room wad clean but the corridor outside looked dirty. Breakfast had limited variety of food, and it was slow to refill empty dishes. The hotel is about 0.6 miles away from River Walk, acceptable distance. The hotel rate is overpriced given services and amenities received.

    Just one thing: the coffee cups and breakfast plates were made of foam. We didn’t feel comfortable having hot coffee in foam cups. Foam products are not ideal for health or the environment. Switching to more eco-friendly options would make the experience even better.

    I usually enjoy staying here, this is my Go to hotel when wanting to stay near Downtown area but this recent stay was TERRIBLE got there about 3:10pm (check in is at 3pm) my room wasn’t ready, we had somewhere to be and I needed to get ready as we had just drove into town. Had to wait in lobby room wasn’t ready to about 4pm. We got to our room it didn’t look like it had been really cleaned! There was no body mirror in our “Suite” room the fridge/freezer had roaches frozen in it, the room smelled so bad! The carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed. This was the worse stay and terrible room we had!

    Breakfast was subpar, items were not replaced after 8:40 am while the closing time was 9:30 am. Bathroom toilet at the lobby level had no tissues. The elevators were very slow and old. During morning hours there was a long line of residents waiting for the elevator.

    I wasn’t told that it wasn’t available We checked in once arrived to room I walked into a double full size bed instead! I walked back to lobby to inquire and was told there were none available maybe until next day but we were told that we have to go to lobby between 12 & 1 pm to inquire about room. I told lobby that we were going to leave at 6:30 am and not return until 2 or 3 pm we came to get baptized at church and attend a family reunion afterwards. So needless to say I was not happy this trip!!!!

    The AC was noisy, the bathroom sink got clogged and overall looked dilapidated. There were stains on the bath tub and the bed sheets. I didn't feel comfortable at all and will never stay at a La Quinta. The elevators were terrible and one was not working. It took forever to reach 3 floors. The receptionist needs to be trained how to smile and to provide customer service in a better way. Overall my experience was very poor.

    This hotel is conveniently located to many areas of San Antonio that we enjoy visiting. My husband and I have stayed here twice, on quick overnight getaways, and we will do that again. It is clean and the breakfast area is spacious. Definitely affordable, which is important to us.

    We chose this hotel as it was less than a 10min walk from the River Walk and for the convenience of free onsite parking. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a decent selection of options. The room was clean and the staff friendly. The only small gripe was the slow elevator, it really was quicker going up the stairs.

    Room was large and clean. Had separate couch and chairs seating area. Enjoyed everything except elevator is slow running. Took the stairs down to save time waiting for it to come. Breakfast was very good and diverse. We debated about where to stay and initially was about to book on the river, but realized parking was not included anywhere in the area and I refused to pay $37-60 per night extra for parking. Parking was included at LaQuinta and very easy in/out. All the sites we wanted to see were not walkable from 1 hotel anyway, and this was only 3 minutes to parking for River portion of trip. Would certainly stay again.

    1. Check-in Error & Poor Service At check-in, I handed the front desk my credit card, but they charged the card on file from the booking site instead. While mistakes happen, my wife also received unhelpful and discourteous responses when asking basic questions about breakfast. 2. Empty Shower Dispensers The body wash and shampoo dispensers were empty. Front desk staff said nothing could be done because housekeeping had left for the day. Basic amenities should always be stocked. 3. Poorly Repaired Tub/Shower The tub/shower had been repaired poorly. Water pooled in the center, and I stepped into leftover cold water from the previous guest. 4. No Housekeeping Service We received no housekeeping—beds weren’t made, trash not removed, toiletries not replenished. When we requested supplies in person, staff suddenly had access, contradicting prior explanations. This hotel has potential and a great location, but service and management issues significantly impacted our stay. I cannot recommend it unless you need a place in an emergency.

    The room smelled awful, the bathroom was clearly not cleaned, and there was visible mold on the walls. I walked in and left immediately. Even though the room was in unacceptable condition, they still refused to provide a refund. If you care about cleanliness or basic hygiene, choose another hotel this place is not worth it.

    I stayed for 2 nights. This was my first time staying at this place. It is a good sized place at 151rooms and an elevator. Corner of Cesar Chavez and South Flores. A lot of parking spaces in front and back. Across the street is a mini HEB with a gasoline station. It was easy to get in and out. The room itself was comfy... a sort of mini suite. Interestingly, the microwave/ mini fridge was located in front of the entrance to the room. The bathroom was big too. There was a towel hook on the bathroom door and but a hook closer to the bathtub/ shower would have been helpful. Lots of interesting art frames. The only quibble is that the pillows are rather on the firm side. I prefer pillows that are more on the softer side. The central location is great, although downtown SA Street are sort of cray cray the way they're formulated. Still, I look forward to visiting there again

    My wife and I spent a week and have no complaints. The location was excellent, if you don't mind a little walking. The area felt safe and the HEB store on the corner was convenient. Joshuah at the front desk was extremely friendly, efficient and very informative.

    Great place to stay. This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this property. Located close to everything in The Riverwalk area of San Antonio. Close to Alamadome where I attended the Paul McCartney concert. Definitely would stay again.

    I went with a minor and we walked so much under the heat that we both felt sick. Did not have a budget to pay for parking closer to the Riverwalk. $60 for 3 to 4 hours. That’s why I was chosing a hotel close to it… or so I thought. Never coming to this hotel again. You don’t need to lie to get people to come to your hotel. I have proof of the information given vrs. the reality. I regret paying so much!

    The room that was assigned was not cleaned. There was black dots on the bed comforter. There was an unknown object (maybe a rubber glove) on the lamp post by one of the beds. The bathroom floor was soft & felt like we were going to fall through it, & the tub was rusty. The staff was friendly & helpful. The property was safe & provided security. The stay overall was good.

    The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom had not aged well with rust around the drain and a poorly repaired wall. Also, the plumbing/pipes made a high pitched noise at times. The staff was nice. The breakfast was good with plenty to eat.

    The room was fine, but a few days after checking out they charged me for a towel that they claimed was missing which I know for sure that all towels that were in the room were still there when we left. I tried calling to resolve issue but they didn't seem to believe me. The money is not at issue here but the principle. I refuse to pay for something that I don't owe. I will not use this brand of hotels again if they conduct business like that.

    Here are a couple of minor things to improve: the hallway has a strong smell of the air freshener and the A/C in the room cannot be switched off except for a hard unplug (I could not sleep with my head next to the stream of air). It's a great option for a couple of nights of stay in the city.

    Our suite had a tub but the drain nozzle was loose and completely detached from the drain. There were a couple of spots I cleaned up that were high up in the shower wall. I wish we had more than 3 washclothes and towels a piece for our 2 person stay - easy to have asked for another one though. The pool didn’t open until noon so that was a bummer, and would recommend keeping home fries as a staple every day - so delicious! Room was so spacious and loved that the microwave was included. Tv channels were good. Elevator is slow but dependable. I would stay here again - maybe a 10-15 walk depending on your own physical accessibility to get to the river walk; rideshares were quick. Staff was friendly and helpful.

    SUV broke down day before our stay and we couldn’t make it, they had 0 empathy and even though I tried reaching out day before stay they wouldn’t honor cancellation or full refund … not even partial , even though I paid couple bucks extra Incase of cancellations… they charged me full price as if I had stayed… 0 empathy. Not nice.

    The suite we stayed in was nice and we enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There is a HEB market right across the street. There were some minor issues. The tub had some rust stains. The bathroom wall had been repaired poorly and the plumbing made a screaching sound when we flushed.
