    Don’t usually do reviews. I decided to this time because the guy at the service desk went above and beyond helping me with the TV. Had an issue with it and he rectified it and was very cordial and nice about it. He was the epitome of a good service rep.

    The hot breakfast was fresh and hot with lots of variety. Ready to please several different tastes. Area feels safe. We were grateful to see in the parking lot, at 2:30 in the morning as we returned from our event and the after party, that security was out checking the parking area when we arrived. We felt very comfortable, and everything was clean, and organized on both the inside and outside of the property. Staff provided very good service and were attentive to our needs.

    Good location and it was very clean. I didn't know the handicap room bed would be so high off the floor. My mother-in-law who is 85 years old and had two knee surgeries could not get on the bed. I asked if they had a rollway bed, a recliner or step stool. All answers were no. She said. " We can not be liable! I am more upset with the way the questions were answered.

    The hotel and our room were very clean and comfy, except for a couple of pieces of someone else's hair on our bathroom floor and noise from a nearby highway while we slept. The staff was friendly and accommodating; however, I noticed a guest received a welcome bag, but we didn't. Oh well, maybe they were special club members. I didn't have the hotel's breakfast, but my family members did and enjoyed it. The coffee which was served all day was good, and the lady who prepared the coffee and breakfast was very kind and friendly. The location was quite a ways out if your traveling from the north, but somewhat convenient to the Riverwalk. Overall the stay was good for the price.

    “I was celebrating my wife’s birthday, and Best Western Plus Palo Alto Inn and Suites made our stay smooth and completely stress‑free. I originally planned to stay just one day, but the experience was so good that I stayed a second night. For the first time ever, the pictures online actually matched the room and the hotel — I was pleasantly surprised in the best way. Breakfast was good, and while it would be even better with more options like bacon or boiled eggs, everything tasted fresh, and the fruits — especially the apples and oranges — were great. Kudos to the entire staff, including housekeeping and the kitchen; I honestly wanted to find something to complain about, but I can’t. Please don’t raise the prices… you’re doing everything right.” “What didn’t I like? Well… no free balloons or free candy — just kidding. Honestly, the service wasn’t what I expected at first because I had just flown back from Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida, and that’s a big difference. But your hotel really surprised me. From the moment I walked in, the air felt clean and fresh, and the staff was friendly. This place is definitely a must‑visit the next time I come to San Antonio. Keep everything just the way it is.”

    I like that it offered a workout and jacuzzi. My room was changed without notice to me and the jacuzzi was broken so i wasn’t able to use it. Also, the room that i was moved back to had no heat!

    The location made it easy to access the interstate. The breakfast was good. There was a huge sewer roach in the room. The bed was hard and super high from the floor. The shower was leaking all night. The toilet was running all night. The room was also not that clean.

    After I arrived and received my key, I went to Room 207. The key did not work, forcing me to return to the front desk to have it re-scanned. Once corrected, the key worked. Upon entering the room, we immediately heard water leaking from the bathroom; the shower was clearly leaking. The room was also hot, stuffy, and had a strong old odor. I attempted to use the wall thermostat, but it was completely nonfunctional and displayed nothing. I then turned on the window AC unit and set it to 66°F before leaving for a quinceañera, assuming the room would cool down. When we returned, the AC had shut off and the room was hot and muggy. I turned it back on and left briefly to get food. Upon returning again, the AC was off once more. I called the front desk to report the issue and asked if someone could check it. The clerk told me to reset it myself and stated no one was available until the next morning. I requested to be moved to another room. We were relocated to Room 320, where the AC worked; however, the bed was extremely old and sagged badly in the center, making it very uncomfortable. This has been the worst hotel experience I have had in my 52 years of staying at hotels

    We had to change rooms three times. We had issues with the A/C unit that nearly caused a fire in our room, the second room the door did not lock from the outside and the third room smelled of mildew. There were no working amenities, i will be seeking a refund.

    The tv picture was distorted and color was off. We tried adjusting the settings, but nothing worked. We were already settled in so didn’t want to ask for a new room. I also don’t like having to pay $50 up front for incidentals and wait for reimbursement. We will need to follow up on that on my credit card statement. Seems like they could just have the card on file in case payment is needed like other hotels do.

    This is a solid hotel if you need to stay on the far south side to travel to Somerset and Poteet but also want to be convenient to San Antonio. I have stayed here before and would stay here again. Everyone was very nice and the rooms are good sized and clean, and breakfast was better than I expected it to be. Good coffee, too.

Isaiah who was working the desk said there were no 1st floor rooms so we had to had to go to 2nd floor which would have been fine however I requested specifically a first floor room as my husband has MS and uses a mobility scooter to get around. We had no choice but the leave the scooter in the car and make the hike up to the 2nd floor. When we went down for breakfast the following morning the gentleman behind the counter asked what floor we were on, we told him. He said he was going to "block off" a first floor room for us when we got back later that day the room had been given away. Isaiah felt awful and had asked a guest who had just arrived a few minutes prior to move to the 2nd floor. The guest so graciously complied. Next thing we know we are in a different room on the 1st floor that had been used and not cleaned. The Ice machine on 2nd floor was out of order, soda machines were all out of order, and had to walk up to 3rd floor for ice Had to ask for clean towels, used towels on floor in bathroom, also needed to an ask for new pillowcases as the pillows had been slept on. 2nd floor room was nice and big and handicap accessible, this room was much smaller with no couch. Not one time did our room get cleaned even though we put the clean sign on the handle. We never saw a single room being cleaned. Very disappointed with this stay

    Stayed with kids, room and restroom was clean, no issues at all , all the staff was super friendly, the breakfast was good , the area is safe & plenty of restaurants around , about 25 mins away from six flags so that wasn’t bad, they also have an indoor pool so that was a very convenient since it was raining 2 of the 3 days we stayed

    The second room we were booked into had a constantly running hot water stream coming out of the tub tap (not dripping, running). Again, the floor cleanliness was questionable. The AC fan would only operate on low. It cooled the room but only marginally. The refrigerator started leaking sometime during the first night. We stayed there. It wasn’t the worst. The owner needs to do a top down renovation of all the floor coverings and fix all of the ongoing maintenance items. The staff was very friendly and professional as they probably have had to deal with the same complaints for years now (based on other reviews claiming the same conditions).

    Everything that could’ve gone wrong during our stay, did. They did not think to notify guests of their elevator issue, were not initially sympathetic to my wife’s disability issues stating there was nothing lower than the third floor they could offer until we got Expedia involved. Then put us in a second floor room that had a malfunctioning fire alarm that woke us up at 2:30 AM. Then the room we were in had a dirty tub but we didn’t want to bring it to their attention because we already felt like everything was too much. The property literally has a homeless camp behind the dumpster by the jack in the box (in pretty much the same parking lot, a 1 minute walk), which I believe (speculation) is the cause of all the car break ins people review about. I would never stay here again.

    The room we reserved online was not available at check in so we were downgraded from a king to a queen. Had the option to switch rooms the next morning but that was more of an inconvenience. Asked about price adjustment since we were downgraded but was told there was no manager so therefore we had to pay for a king for 3 nights but received a queen. Okay so it allowed more time for cleaning. Once we checked in we arrived in our room and it had an odor, found a cup in the window seal with mold in it. The sheets on the sofa sleeper were visibly soild. Only two towels in the bath room. We booked a double bed with sofa sleeper as we had 6 people. The front desk corrected everything and offered to change our rooms, even assisted us with extra linen **this was amazing** My experience would have been better and rating higher if our 1st impressions were better.

It was not the cleanest hotel, the carpets were pretty shabby and the price was $140/night, so I wouldn’t say it was cheap hotel. The remote didn’t work, because of the batteries, the linens were worn, and the bathroom was not the cleanest. But I’ve always said I could stay just about anywhere if the bed was comfortable…and it was. If a comfortable bed will do, and not much else, then I would recommend it.

    We were lost. Called the property for directions and were told to “google it”. After another hour of looking for it, we found it. The young lady at the front desk was more interested in her phone than waiting on us. After we got checked in and into the room, we found hair on the sheets and towels. The toilet was dirty on the seat and the floors were very sticky. We will not be back should we travel that way again

    The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hearty.The initial checkin experience was poor. I was given my room keys and entered my room. I fully closed the door behind me. After about 5 minutes, I heard someone at the door and was surprised that a man used a room key to gain entrance to my room. As he entered he asked what I was doing in his room. We compared room numbers and found that we had been assigned the same room. We went back downstairs and the front desk indicated that it was a minor error, told me I was in the right room and could return. It was an uncomfortable experience.

    Staff was great but I could not believe that I found bugs crawling on the wall and on the trash can. Only reason I found then was because I was cleaning up and throwing an empty cup in the trash can and all of a sudden I saw bugs crawling in, around and on the wall. I took photos and videos of it.

    The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I didn't like how I could hear other rooms easily, but I did like the way the staff was accommodating. The Best Western is across the street from Palo Alto College and there is a gas station in walking distance.

    Im sure if we go back for another visit, it'll be a better, more exciting stay. Breakfast was pretty great and staff were friendly. I just think it was a bad weekend with the rain, people, etc.

    Breakfast was good, needs to be upgraded furniture, linen and towels very old. we found cockroach on the first day and sofa in our room seemed to be aunt infested.

    Clean, spacious, good complimentary breakfast. Enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Just take your own towels if using the pool.

    We asked for a play pen and they were out of them. We asked for extra towels(only 2 towels per room): staff said they were out of towels. We went for breakfast at 830 am and I asked the staff for a banana and they responded that they only put out a certain number each morning. Even though i could see more bananas in their kitchen. Don’t plan to stay there ever again.

    It was nice, quiet, and comfortable. the bad thing we experienced was someone had tampered with our smoke detector in our room and it was still missing the cap to it, and there was old trash and hard candy on the floor underneath the sitting bench.

    Exterior looks nice, check in was fast and easy, the room was excelent and spacious with a hint of modern office type decor. The breakfast was amazing with plenty types of opions to choose from. The only downside was the bathroom, even tho it's spacious, when you shower the bathroom floor got flooded. Probably easy for cleaning but not for the tenant.

    Very friendly staff, quiet neighborhood. There was a restaurant and a convenience store walking distance from the hotel. The pool was nice. Stayed in the jetted tub room very relaxing and clean.

    Breakfast was fantastic. Room was very good. Only had one problem and that was our accessible bathroom. The whole floor would flood after taking a shower. And we couldn't turn down the shower head without loosing hot water. Overall a great place.

    I was turned away because I didn’t have a deposit for the room which was probably my fault but I as in a tight spot financially. I explained that I had already paid $100 for the room and t was all I had at the moment if there was anyway she can waive it. She wasn’t having it , for me it wasn’t a much her not allowing since I didn’t read the fine print rather her lack of empathy or consideration when she very happily turned me away . I came up with the deposit and needed somewhere to stay making it at 12 in the morning paid $100 and only stayed till 6 hrs could even shower because f the huge roach laying there dead n the shower

    Staff was excellent nice and very helpful. The cleanliness of the room was not that good in room coffee maker was crusty looking there was stuff that didn’t get vacuumed from previous stay. Carpet needed some cleaning for sure. And the hotel had a smell but I guess ok for what was needed the breakfast was good that’s a plus. We stayed there cause it was only 15 minutes or less to Lackland Air Force base for my daughter’s BMT graduation
