Everyone on staff was extremely helpful and nice! Check in was quick. Room was spacious. Pool was refreshing. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel was clean in all areas we went. We will definitely stay here again!

What I wish I knew from reviews before our stay. Fair warning, hotel has an underlying old smell. Our first room (#212) had strong smell of mold. We tried to accept it but after 5 minutes couldn’t do it. Reported it, they didn’t push back and changed us to room #110. AC struggled to cool and around 10p started smelling marijuana, my son fell asleep, tried ignoring it until 11p or so when the smell had literally engulfed our room. I was concerned hotel may think it was coming from our room, had to report it. Got dressed reported to front desk and brought attendant into our room, we clearly could see it was coming from bathroom vents. Went to sleep in warm smelly room, woke up sweating in a warm smelly room. Requested diff room, moved us to #224, which we just had to make the best of. Still didn’t get as cool as we wanted but was acceptable and better than mold and marijuana room! The most unsettling part was the “notice to guest” which the hotel owner required as mandatory to initials to get checked in and get room key. See photos of what this hotel makes guest sign off on. Frankly inappropriate and unacceptable. The staff were nice enough but we will not ever be staying here again!

Terrible pictures are deceiving. Multiple rooms with mold constant buzzing sound from electrical outlet that staff refused to address. Food in pull out couch, breakfast no show of cook on a Friday. Quiet and safe was only plus 1 star!

Only issue is the WATER FILTER on the fountain was blinking RED and dispersing DIRTY WATER in the hall area leading to the dining room. Outside of that in all HONESTY I will be staying there again in a few weeks. It felt like an Apartment vs a Hotel room. Thank You to the STAFF from Check in to Check out. Sidebar: I never paid a “EARLY CHECK IN” fee before this trip as i’ve always been pretty high tiered with HOTELS.com . I paid it this time, but, would ask this be disclosed earlier next time. Thanks.

I loved the customer service I received from Gage, vrhe night attendant. I had a late arrival, and was more than courteous to accommodate me by viewing the exhaustion in my face. He's a very attentive, gracious, and welcoming young man. He deserves a raise if he hasn't had one. As far as this place is I definitely will return on business, but especially for leisures. And also to the young women I dealt with as well in the morning and after are both awesome as well..By far the best experience Hotel experience on San Antonio, thank you guys! Everything was perfect

We had an okay stay at Best Western Plus Hill Country Suites. The staff was friendly and the price was very reasonable, which we appreciated. However, our experience had a few downsides. Check-in was supposed to be at 3 p.m., but when we arrived close to 5 p.m., our room still wasn’t ready. The room was listed as non-smoking, yet it smelled strongly of smoke mixed with cleaning chemicals and dampness. Also, the light over the bathroom mirror did not work. Overall, it was an average stay — decent for the price, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Overall, this was a very pleasant and relaxing experience. I actually looked forward to the provided breakfast every day. It went easy beyond the standards set by other so called continental breakfasts. Just an overall A+ experience. This is a strange thing, bit only because it can effect men. The seat of the toilet and the water below are somewhat close. If I learned forward at all while sitting, a dangling bit would take a plunge. My only other semi complaint is because I'm not from Texas, so I'm not sure if this is common. The hotel was almost on the corner of 2 highways, so you had to go completely around a large square area on order to return if you left by car for any reason.

The TV was not working, this is the second time that this has happened, we come every month if not every 3 weeks and last month when we were here the same thing their cable was not working, and then this time we were showering and their water pressure went out, it was about 10 minutes before the pressure came back on, I don't think we will be staying here anymore

I tried to call the front desk several times to inform them that I was going to do a late check-in. The staff members at the front desk would pick up, tell me to hold, and then leave me on hold for an extended period of time. On the last call attempt that I made they said to hold on and I could hear everything going on in the background and the two coworkers were visiting and talking to each other and not picking up the phone. Finally, I called back and was able to speak with someone. The waffle makers were not on and I was told they are only turned on on certain days, which I wish I would’ve known about before scheduling the hotel because having breakfast in the morning is very important to my husband. They had also run out of yogurt. The room itself was nice and roomy.

Room was not as clean as it could be and TV channel selections were horrible; no instructions and staff couldn't answer questions about it. About the only thing that was great was the breakfast; one of the best I've had in a hotel and cooks were fantastically good and nice!!!

They'll force the ridiculous deposit charge on you even if Expedia doesn't make that clear. Of course they could charge more for the rooms and get their money for damages there but no, they pretend like the deposit charge will cover damages. It's a clever trick to increase their cash flow and these foreign hotel owners love it.

Room was not clean it was 4:00-45 or pass that time. We were tired and out appointments had to be rescheduled due to room not being ready. Staff was not welcoming or courteous even after the tremendous problem.

The rooms were massive and easy to exist in. The pool area was good, staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The breakfast was a great value as well. The beds were kind of hard and uncomfortable (but that could be personal preference) and the large drapes that usually block out sunlight are nonexistent

My room was not clean!! And I just noticed in the morning! I was so tired when I arrived that I went straight to bed… next morning I noticed that was trash all over the place and some used towels… Thats horrible!

A little outdated and in need of a bit of TLC, but great for a one night say with the price.,

I was very disappointed as a platinum member. I paid for my room in advance because there was only a few available king size beds. When I arrived the receptionist gave me my key to a room that I did not pay for. I went back downstairs and now I need my room with a king bed that I paid for in advance. She told me since you only have one night I gave your room away to someone else they wanted the king size bed for a few nights. I told her why would you do that when I already prepaid in advance so you can’t just give my room away. She said there was nothing they can do. There should be a policy if the room is paid for in ADVANCE that room should be locked in for that customer. If the customer doesn’t pay in advance and arrives late there’s a possibility his room could be given away to someone else. But in this case I paid in advance. I will definitely be emailing the management.

There was no tv controls in the room, and when we asked for them they said the cable was not working, the night stand were not clean it had cup marks, honestly the room was not clean it looked like they just did the beds and stocked towels

The common areas were nice and the breakfast was good. The rooms were adequate with comfortable beds. The carpet in the rooms was a little gross, and there were stains on the sofa. While it was adequate for a one night stay, the photos made it seem much nicer than it actually was.

There was an odd odor in the hotel almost like a dog pee smell which wasn’t great and we didn’t even get the chance to check out before people were in our room cleaning it out while we still had our things inside.

The doorway into the room had been bent so badly that he hotel put 3 security plates to get the striker to catch and the door to stay closed. When the door was shut, anyone in the hallway could see right through the gap in the door frame.

The bed was comfortable and overall nice room, except toilet is super low! I hated that my husbands truck got broken into, the window was broken and his gun was stolen and the staff informed us that it’s happened before that they target trucks for weapons, like at least warn us so we would of removed the gun, also the girl working behind the desk was on her phone not paying attention to anything for over 30 minutes! I also didn’t like that they said they have security guard that patrols but the entire time I not once seen a guard! And they acted like it wasn’t a big deal, the cops never even showed up and we had to travel 4 and a half hours home with a broken window!!! Will NEVER SYAY THERE AGAIN! Sucks because it was clean, comfortable and great price , but not at least informing us of this when it’s happened previously is not where I’ll spend my money! You stay at a place and if they have surveillance and security then how does this happen!

We noticed around midnight that both heater and fridge were loud. They hindered our rest which was the whole point of us buying a night here. Management never got back to me on this either. Customer service isn’t there.

He also shouted at me to "have manners" as he stalked away into the lobby area. I have now canceled the four day extension of my stay at this beautiful property. What a shame.

Assigned a room and two keys. First key wasn’t programmed so it didn’t work. Once we got the key to work the door wouldn’t open because the lock was stuck. Floor inside the door was just mopped and a hazard because it was wet! The hallways were so hot and muggy. Turned on the air in the room guess what, it didn’t cool down appropriately. Closed the curtains to attempt to sleep on the not so comfy beds. Woke up and pulled the curtains open to realize the entire window pane was about to fall out of this third floor window! Was very happy to leave that hotel behind!

Id definitely stay here again. The staff is nice and informational. They will also make accommodations for you. Check out is NOON, and the latest is 1pm. Anytime past that is $20 per hour. Not bad at all in my opinion. They also offer breakfast, haven’t had it yet but it’s nice to have that option available. I usually don’t write reviews but this was such a pleasant experience I had to. Book the room, don’t risk the bed bugs or dying of bleach smell from these other hotels in the area. 10/10

The curtains also overlapped the air conditioner vent, and the cold air goes up behind the curtain and not into the room. Old air conditioners were loud and would wake me up throughout the night as the compressor turned on and off. Typical conditions for an old motel. I chose this hotel for the location. Would probably stay again because of the price and the staff.

Excellent place to stay. Barry is the front desk attendant on the weekend and is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is well taken care of. The rooms are nice and clean. Rooms also come with two TVs which is great for gamers or people into sports because the other TV can be used by family. The hotel property feels safe and is well lit. Overall, this a great hotel with good service, and a good location.

We noticed a hanging picture in our room full of mold, the room had a weird smell to it when we walked in, we also smelt a strong scent of weed in our room later in evening after check in, the hot tub wasn’t bubbling and it had leaves in it but we noticed the day of check out they had pool maintenance out there. I would stay here again!

The site is in a nice area of town, but as soon as I entered the property I could tell there is a mediocre maintenance plan. As I walked in the lobby there was a woman who appeared to be a transient walkimg around in the lobby like she was lost, which raised a safety flag. As we reached the third floor there was a strong, unpleasant smell, maybe sewage or some strange cuisine, but nauseating. Around 11 pm while we were watching a movie, the AC motor stopped, I tought it would cycle back on but it didn't, so after 40 minutes I told the receptionist, also told him about the smell, but he brushed it off with an Im sorry, but there's nothing I can do. I messed aroumd with the AC for about 30 more minutes after I came back to my room, it was warm, I was worried it would become miserably hot, but something I did got it working again. The ice machines on the 3rd floor didn't work, so I went to the 2nd floor, it took 15 minutes for the machine to dispense the ice and fill the small ice bucket. The parking spaces are so narrow, so if you have a nice car be carefully with door dings. Lastly, I told the morning receptionist about the smell and AC, and again she brushed it off with an "Im sorry, I'll write a note in the system". She made no effort to make it right, so I left it at that. The breakfast was good and the interior of the rooms was clean, but other than that it was all a terrible experience.

What i like about this locatin is that it is near shopping locations, down side is that the driving entrance/ exit is a little tight and can be missed

Room wasn’t bad BUT right by expressway so noise of cars driving by all night - family decided to have a bday party at pool area for child but were vaping and had quite a bit of people in small, dirty pool - cards to open room doors did not work entire stay so had to be walked to room by clerks - my kids spilled drink on bedding so I was charged extra $50 for that - not the most comforting stay.

Bloody towels, and mold. I didn't notice at first; I arrived around 11pm exhausted after driving for 12 hours. After I showered, I noticed blood on a towel, and the room smelled really humid and found mold on the curtains right where the AC was blowing.

While your staff was amazing have EVERY handicap parking spot used by some construction idiot was annoying. When you need a walker or wheelchair to get around you really do rely on these spots and I find myself more important as a paying customer than a maintenance worker

Customer service was slow, only one person at front desk. Cards kept on inactivating and had to continue going to the front desk. Rooms were good and house cleaning was great. The kids enjoyed the pool and it was familiy oriented. Laundry room was a plus.

Over all stay was good. But there was a mold smell from the moment you walked in the lobby. It's worse in the rooms and you van tell its coming from the in-wall a/c units. Definitely should be inspected.

Nice and out of the way on 1604 but right on 281 so you can get downtown in less than 20 minutes with no traffic.

The property was older with worn out rooms and carpets. They told us not to smoke, but our whole hallway smelled of smoke. People were loud, but the worst part was the bed. My back was so sore the next day I could barely walk right. The prices were too high, in my opinion.

Hair in the in room Jacuzzi tub and a glob of hair in the shower floor. Curtains were also broke. We got moved to another room but that room was missing a whole curtain and only had the sheer see thru curtain on it. The odor in the rooms were weird also. The hallways smelled a lot better. Ants by the waffle mix for breakfast also by the leftover container others used getting mix for waffles.

Nice place tonstay rooms are large and clean. Ammenities are adequate. Coffee pot fridge and microwave. Nice. 2 tv one in bed area one in couches very good. Breakfast was good and variety of chiice. Overall ibwould stay again.

I booked a suite and it wasnt available. Also, i thought I booked the location right avross the street from the frost center but i ended up at a location 20mins away. The pools was very dirty and the hot tub didnt work.

Our 2 night stay was okay. Met our needs; bed was comfy, room was good size, location was where we wanted. I'm a germ freak so for me the cleaning could have been way better. Curtains also were torn and some of the towels were stained. During our stay we saw someone's truck windows smashed. Although they had security out all night after this happened.. it did deter us from going out and loosing our parking spot by the entrance. Overall good for a night or 2 but anything longer and I would go elsewhere

The sheets were so old that they had holes and tears in them. And the room wasn't vacuumed . Jacuzzi wasn’t working and pool wasn’t cleaned.

Hotel was convenient and clean. Easy checkin and friendly staff. The AC didnt work in our room making it a hot stuffy night on uncomfortable mattresses that sqeaked every time we moved. Wont be staying here again

Everything was great including the breakfast.

Blood stains on the mattress. Bathroom stained and nasty. The couch pull out was stained, dirty and I wouldn’t even let my kid sit on it.

The location of this hotel was great, it was 20 minutes to the center of San Antonio. The room was spacious and check in/check out were very easy. The only complaint I had was that the room had a weird smell every time we walked in so I wondered how well the carpet was cleaned but otherwise the rest of the room was clean and met our needs.

The hotel is about average for this brand. This was the only hotel I could get since there was a major golf tournament and also the Final 4 Basketball tournament were going on.

it was a bit hard to get to due to all of the construction.

Everything went smooth we especially liked the breakfast it was much better than it had to be.

The bed was lopsided and aweful.

The AC did not come on and it was barely cool in there it seems like it was controlled and just blowing a fan. The sofa in the room was seriously GROSS. Stained and looked like it had been soiled with who knows. I called and asked the front desk for an additional pillow but was told I'd have to come get it myself. Of course I was in my pj's and in bed and so I did not go. Definitely would NOT stay here. It's like a Motel 6

This will be the my first and last stay in this hotel. I felt that there is a bed bug and I asked to change the room. The replacement room has some kind of smell which I could not tolerate. So, I ended up staying in the same room. Only good is thing is that this is a walking distance to Walmart.

There’s fast food and restaurants all around you in walking distance ans a walmart thats also walking distance the room looked just like the pictures no complaints there. only thing i didnt like was how unsafe the area was. there has been a lot of car break ins but that was my only worry overall it was a good start

What a quality stay. Staff was great, room was clean... i got the king eith a pull out couch... two tvs?! Perfect.. i can watch sports, they can watch whatever they were watching. Came in for some baseball tourney that weekend and the last. Stayed here for the last weekend and it was 10x better than the HILTON GARDEN INN down the road. Best westerns breakfast was free and better than what i paid 15 bucks for at that the garden inn. All around better spot.

Hotel room was fine, and staff was nice when you could fine them. There was a bad smell in our original room, but they helped us get another one quickly. AC / Heater didn't work well on the trip though. We were in a really sketchy neighborhood. I picked this hotel thinking that it would be safer, but there were people camped out (sleeping over) near the pool area and what seemed to be a lot of weird things going on in the parking lot (a lot of cars would pull into the parking lot wait for someone to come out to it and then would leave while the person walked back somewhere). I wouldn't let my family out to use the pool or hot tub because of that. It is also in an inconvenient location right off the freeway.

Toilet ran constantly and then wouldn’t fill up tank. Had to manually work float in tank. No service of room. Had to keep asking for towels. Check out gave me another person receipt. Never looked at it till got home. Called to get receipt a week later. They couldn’t email or text. Girl said it was blank.

Regret that the toilet would not work and no note staff to fix it. However staff very kind and gave us a discount off our room. Coffe pot in room was also broken. The work out room was awesome!!!

The A/C went out in room at night. My daughter and her infant were miserable. When I brought it to the attention of desk staff upon check out, all she said was, “we’ll make note of it.”

Front desk staff was super nice and it was an easy check in. Unfortunately, one corner of our room smelled like pee and once we realized it was the room, we had already got the baby to sleep. The lady offered to swap us rooms but we didn’t want to wake up the baby. Breakfast looked good but we were heading out so just grabbed a couple bananas.

We booked this property for one of our employees. While parked at this place for the night, the picked-up truck was broken into. The windows were broken, the headlights and reader lights were gone, and many other parts of the truck were stolen.

There were 2 separate car break-ins during my stay. Parking lot had dark spots and could cause unease at night. Otherwise, room was clean and spacious. Staff was attentive when needed. The only thing that I did not care for was the water did not get hot enough for the shower, it was lukewarm at best. Overall, a fair/decent stay...it wasn't exceptional but didn't stink either. The surrounding area has nearly all one needs for food and supplies.
