Best Western near Lackland AFB/SeaWorld

Excellent stay!

Wherever I'm in San Antonio I enjoy staying at this location. There are lots of things to do in the area and it has great freeway access. The staff is always very kind the rooms are clean. I always sleep good and feel very safe. This is definitely my go to location.

Roaches in the room. Nothing other room to change to so had no place else to go and had to stay there got no sleep. Terrible experience overall

The hotel was clean but it’s on a noisy street and not a good area. The outside of the hotel doesn’t look like much but once inside the quad area it’s much nicer. The staff was nice and helpful. The air conditioner is also noisy. I’m used to having complimentary toiletries and this hotel has the bare minimum. They only give you the tiniest shampoo and conditioner, mind you, there were 3 of us who checked into the hotel so the product was only enough for one person. They don’t offer a shower cap nor lotion as other hotels do. There is no ventilation system in their bathroom and I believe that’s important. The swimming pool is nice and so is the reception area. The breakfast is decent. I went for my son’s BTI Air Force graduation.

Breakfast was below average ran out of food, gravy was cold long line for self service waffles because there wasn’t anything else. Went down 3 times during my 3 week stay every time was the same ! One star for breakfast

The place was clean and maintained. They do have some sketchy characters that apparently live there and kinda make you feel uncomfortable. The doors don’t lock from inside either

Our rooms air conditioner wasn’t working very well. Trying to get ahold of someone was difficult. Other than that it was good. Had to attend a funeral and hotel was in the area. Having to go back and forth to church, family home, and back again, hotel was convenient and close. Great hot breakfast every morning. Pool looked great. Cute set up oasis.

This hotel is very old and it shows. Everything really needs to be upgraded.

Good place staff was a bit lack luster we needed a replacement key and no staff were to be found for a good 10 minutes. We were calling the office while in the front office but no luck. Eventually we got it but that was a bit of a nuisance. Breakfast was a good set up but limited they kept having to restock because they were putting limited stuff out. Apart from that the place is nice.

Hotel was a little ghetto. Heard people fighting at night, near the stairs. Hotel floor had blonde hair, you can tell it wasn't vacuumed when we arrived. Front desk staff seemed unhappy and was not helpful. Breakfast was good. Options included biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, and bread/muffins. Overall it's okay for the money but would not return.

The property has rodents there's an awful stitch in the room.

I booked it for the name best western but it was no way good. The room floors were very dusty. The price for this kind of room was way too much ! We can say that the price is almost that of a 3 star hotel for a 1 star experience !

Although there weren’t too many options at breakfast, it was very basic but okay. What’s more important to us is the cleanliness of the room. When we arrived I thought, oh no maybe not a good decision to book here, but we were definitely wrong. The outside is kind of dated but the inside was very, very clean, and for that reason alone, we booked our next stay here again.

Only 2 things to choose from plus the juices and coffee and waffles parking is good plenty of lighting in the parking lot. Staff was absent. Didn’t use the pool but seem like a really nice pool.

The bed was comfortable. The facilities are lacking. The internet didn't work for the first 3 nights we had to ask them 2 times to reset. They gave us another internet network which worked great for one day then the next day we had wifi issues with both networks not Great if you need wifi I wouldn't recommend. The breakfast ends at 9 am so we missed it e very single day I think 9 is way too early. The only faciliies after 9 am is coffee. The shower was getting stuck and the water wouldn't stop running. The staff didn't talk to us even though I was staying for 2 weeks also there was lots of men hanging around. Line males walking into the pool area my boyfriend didn't feel safe and wouldn't let me go swimming alone. I wouldn't recommend if you was a lone female location is a bit dodgy homeless hanging around the area. You can gera the other guests through the walls. Cleaners do not speak English. If you are traveling from UK I don't recommend. Is OK for one or 2 nights if you just need somewhere to sleep what's not expensive.

every single person at the front desk was amazing and kind and helpful. The room was so clean the housekeeper cleaned my room every single day TIP TOP. I wish I was able to give her a tip. Their breakfast was not very good. They had people outside working making noise until late at night. The air conditioning was very loud.

For the price best western met my expectations. I had break fast available however I wished breakfast lasted longer. I believe breakfast ends at 9/9:30. I received fresh towels as needed. I did not need any additions room service because I was only there for 2 nights. All the appliances worked; I only used the fridge and microwave.

Perfect for family get away

This is the second time we have stayed here and we will probably stay here again. Staff was friendly, we accidentally booked a smoking room and he fixed it for us. The room was very clean. when we came in the room smelt like cleaner (which I like personally). The room had some typical wear, but overall for the price was nice. It was perfect for me and my boyfriend and AC worked. Only note would be the soaps— we didn’t have enough for the two of us so had to get extra from house keeping. But overall we had a good experience.

We enjoyed our stay. Our room was a queen business room, non-smoking . We were on the end, so there was only 1 room next to us and one above. We didn't hear a lot of noise from either room, nor from outside. We only had breakfast 1 day of our trip, selections were decent. There was 24/7 coffee which helped a lot. The room was pretty clean, the carpets could use a good shampooing. Room service came every day, we had fresh towels and rags each time. Trash was always emptied. Couldn't find a skimmer for the pool, but we only used the pool once. The place is lit up very well at night. We didn't feel unsafe at any point. We were told that roaches are common in the San Antonio area, and we only saw 1 or 2 outside. Never in our room. We were able to adjust the temperature of the a.c. in our room, it was not regulated by the hotel. Our bathroom was very clean. The shower was easy to use and water pressure was good. There was always someone in the lobby when we went in. Check out was a little weird, as the housekeeper was helping us check out and she was unsure about some things. Also, we were told by her to just leave the room card there, so we didn't have an official checkout. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay.

Only ate breakfast once. Was there for military graduation, had to be there very early, breakfast hadn’t started when we had to go. Everything was good, the lighting was not quite enough at bathroom area, hard to see when getting ready. Everything else good.

Just had to stay one night for work. The room was spacious, clean and reasonable. The check in lady was pleasant and quick as was the gentleman who checked us out. And breakfast was good as well.

The room was big enough for a big family rare for hotels. The smell inside the room was horrible. I accidentally got a smoking room , I smelled like smoker .

When the room was "cleaned" during my stay, the housekeepers took all of the towels (including my personal towels) but did not leave any additional towels for me to use during my stay - luckily, I brought an extra towel to dry off with. They also did not replace the trash bags when they took out the trash, luckily, I had my own walmart bags for trash, so I used them instead. The a/c was either super cold or hot. I couldn't get the room quite comfortable temperature wise due to the Eco setting on the air conditioner. The pool was open but it was too cold to use. Not far from Lackland AFB, but traffic can make it take a lot longer to get on base, so I would recommend a closer hotel if you are going on base. While the neighborhood was a little sketchy looking (graffiti and a few homeless people), the property was very well lit. It wasn't a bad experience, more like inconvenient, but it could have been a little better. The staff I personally encountered (front desk) were friendly.

the motel converted to Best Western Hotel was very dusty, like its been shut for years.

NOTHING I did not stay here, I checked in and as soon as I got into the room first thing we saw was roaches everywhere! (Infestation ones) i went straight back to the lobby (not even 5mins), mentioned this to the lady at the front desk and she still asks "is the room unused so it can be rented out to someone else" she went to check and confirmed it wasn't used and she could rent out to someone else. Disgusting. Also it's been 3 weeks and still don't receive my refund! I had booked 2 rooms!

Parking is great, first night was also great but after that housekeeping didn’t clean out room, when I called for someone to go they didn’t send anyone and told me the best they could do was switch me rooms, I’m traveling with a baby it was hard to move to another room with all her stuff, so I asked if I could just get some sheets sent over and even that took long. Tv didn’t work and neither did wife. They tried to send someone for the tv right before we were checking out.

Very old establishment that needs some renovation. The room that we were in there was hardly any water pressure. The lighting in the bathroom where you can put on make up was horrible. Hardly any light. The comforter felt almost like rubber. The tile flooring was sticky all over. The breakfast was not all that good. The gravy was very watered down as was the coffee. The biscuits just fell apart.

Some of the staff was very helpful and some were a bit annoyed at questions and had no idea what you were asking about if you had questions. According to the website, they would serve breakfast till 10:00 AM. When one of us went to check they stopped an hour earlier. The first night, room service did not come in and clean, after we talked with them about it, they did it after that. The swimming pool was outdoors and did not look that clean so we decided against it. The gym room was too hot when my brother went to exercise. They said they sold laundry pods but when my dad asked, the staff said they did not and had no idea what he was talking about. They did have a laundry room but one of their machines was broken so we had to drive into a different part of town to a laundromat. Other than that, the suite was nice.

Breakfast was minimal... Scrambled eggs were in standing water for some reason. The staff couldn't wait to close the breakfast area (0900 and one second). It was funny. The Internet is poor... I reported that I could connect to the router but the router dropped internet access several times a minute. I was told if it kept it up that she would report it to maintance. Told her it had been doing for last 24hrs. Staff did nothing. Room... half of the bathroom counter is blocked by the closet. Two sinks less than a foot apart. Little room to set anythig. Weird. Sink mirror was backlit, No Vanity Light (wife couldn't see to apply makeup). Big headboard, names of previous guests carved into it. TV setup, never figured it out. Guide was unusable. A/C, only worked on auto temp/fan. So the unit came on/off all night long. Misc trash around outside of the building in flower beds and driveway. Homeless guy digging in trash each day. Scored a used ladder one morning, fun to watch him cart it off on bicycle!

The bathroom has no counter space— not limited, none. The sink is just attached to the wall. The bed was awful— both hard and we could feel the springs. The only good thing is that your cleaning department is great— very clean rooms. It’s right on top of the freeway.

One of few places I would stay in. The make sure the rooms are clean. They bring fresh linen everyday. Great customer service at the front desk. I normally never write reviews but I had to recommend this place to someone out there that maybe getting tricked with photos.

Obviously older property but that was too be expected but VERY clean. Strong water pressure for showers, for some people that’s a must. Wifi was horrible. It was not very strong and went out a lot. However, i was able to use my data on phone with strong reception. A/C was a window unit that would go off every 15-20 minutes so the room couldn’t get super cold if that’s how you like it. Beds are good but small pillows.

Aside from a few loud children (Spring Break) it’s a well kept and quiet location. Close enough to SeaWorld and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Excellent for the price.

The room was very clean, staff very welcoming and pleasant. Arrived at hotel 1 in the morning after a very long drive from Florida to San Antonio. My stay was very short but very pleased with everything. Price, location and very peaceful.

Everything was good especially for the last minute price.

I filter hotels to 8 and above and it typically gives a great hotel but this was awful. The WiFi only worked at the door even the tv couldn’t work because it didn’t reach. The room smelled horrible when the a/c ran, only cleaned one of the 3 nights which we didn’t mind. The bed was the worst it had a huge dip in the middle. No pictures show the actual location view. Breakfast had no fruit, napkins or knives? Very limited and small breakfast. I would not recommend

The staff complained about who I was with.(my children) then he complained that I had too many people in a 1 bed suite. I was actually in a 2 bed executive suite. This location is literally on a highway/freeway so trying to get out of the driveway to the far lane is crazy. There was the mold in the bathroom on the walls. Also a spot on the ceiling in the bathroom was spackled but looked like something had busted through at one time. The sheets, blankets & towels were so bleached they were crispy. There is no drink machine however you can buy sodas from the desk for $2.00 a can. The mattress had a dip into the center. Also the wifi worked best if I stood by the bathroom otherwise it constantly cut out. I couldnt get any channel on the tv as no matter which one I chose it said "not avail" There is a really nice Best Western 10mnts down the road and it looks new. If I could have changed locations for free I would have.

I booked the wrong hotel location. The front desk clerk confirm we had the incorrect location. We did NOT check-in. The clerk said since it was booked through Expedia, he couldn't cancel the booking. I contacted Expedia spoke with a rep, explain that from the time the booking was made up until the time of the call (which was no more than 90 minutes) that I booked the wrong location. She contacted the hotel to negotiate a possible refund and he responded NO!!! He knew this was a mistake, he told me that he couldn't cancel my reservation so I can get a refund and to contact Expedia, only for him to deny their request!!! Just pure evil for a mere $51.

The Staff was super nice and helpful. I had to change rooms because my door wasn't locking properly and the staff member was super nice and courteous and took care of the problem without hesitation. The rooms were nice and spacious and the beds were comfy as well. The breakfast was blahh eggs and sausage and they had waffles that you had to make. There were cereal options too.I mean for the price we paid we didn't expect anything different. Ok the downside was the lighting in the sink outside the bathroom area where you get ready..all they had was a mirror that has light all around it and that was it..It really didn't give to much light to do hair and makeup it was just so annoying.The fridge didn't cool at all either.One thing i definitely didn't like is that in front of our room there was a garbage can thay had garbage bags on the outside and you could tell some animals had already gotten to it that garbage was there when we checked in and still there when we checked out 2 days later.

This is the place i really like to come to. I have stayed in different rooms and to tell you the truth theres hasn't been nothing to complain about. Housekeeping been very good. Front desk always been polite. Breakfast is good too. If guests has anything to complain its not because of the hotel thats for sure. I wouldn't be returning back to this place if it was to be bad.

Its clear they were working on the roof . But our room was very un maintained the staff didnt care. Broken windows on the 1st floor that didnt close or lock . Did not stay cancelled my reservatuon. If motel 6 cares about their reputation you will want to do a walkthru at this location. Sad

The worst part was breakfast. There were no fruits. Bread had only butter no jam or jelly or any spread. No refills for bread either. No eggs. And when asked, we were told that this is what you will get in 2 star hotel. Worst experience. Never go there.

Overall, the experience was pleasant, and the pricing was fair. The bathrooms were super clean 👌 and nicely taken care of, which is a piece of mind for me. Towels were roughed by clean, lol. I highly recommend this place.

I already reported on this. And was hoping to hear back from Expedia and Best Western regarding a full or partial credit. I cancelled the day I checked-in after seeing thw condition of the room. The room had a foul almost urine scent odor. The mattress had zero support like you were laying on springs and the floor by door was so greasy you could slide and see it. I reported to front desk Rocky(?) who inspected it with me and advised he would report to property manager. And I canceled the stay on the spot. He also advised to reach out to Expedia and that providing Expedia honor the cancellation, he saw no problem management would do the same. The gentlemen was very receptive after seeing firsthand the condition. I hope this matter will be looked into. And someone reaches out to me.

We had to switch rooms because the first room was too hot . The room itself it’s okay. I did not get to try the breakfast so I’m not sure how that was. The pool seems murky so we didn’t get in. Overall it was good for the price .

Breakfast was not good and very limited and parking was questionable with the surrounding areas. AC was not good and main water line went out for in the middle of the night.

Stayed here for one night with family and it was pretty good clean too. Definitely stay here again. Only issue it was a little hot at night even tho the ac was on all the time. But overall good stay recommend.

The hotel is basic but it is clean, quiet and the bed is comfortable. That is really all I am looking for in a hotel. They do have a pool, exercise room, and laundry - I did not use any of that but it is available. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. One was not but you find that one bad apple in every group. I would stay there again and recommend it to those visiting Lackland AFB.

Easy access to freeway, conveniently located between San Antonio Airport and the military base. Room was a little dirty and dated but for the price worked perfectly. We stayed 3 nights for BMT Graduation at Lackland Air Force Base.

This property is so old. Old cannot describe this place. It needs new renovation. I couldn’t stay here because the AC was not working and the room was 200°. I had to find another hotel to go to.

The beds were good and clean. Shower had great water pressure but the sink had nearly no pressure. Took almost 30 seconds to fill a cup for coffee. Breakfast was okay but day 1 eggs, potatoes, and waffles, no meat. Day 2.biscuit and gravy gravy.very salty no meat. Day 3. Eggs and bacon, meat.finally, but we didn't get to eat because we had to leave early to beat rush hour. All in all for the price, you get what you pay for

My room was comfortable and clean. I Loved the inner courtyard, very serene and relaxing. Everyone was nice and willing to answer my questions. The location allowed me to conveniently travel back and forth to Lackland AFB for graduation ceremonies. The one thing I did not like was the one day I was able to have breakfast it was only multiple bread options available, such as waffles, biscuits, toast, or muffins but no meat or fruit to pair.

The coffee was really good. The housekeeper would make the bed. The floor didn't get vacuumed . I was there seven days. I left the pillow case that was dirty in the middle so the housekeeper could leave a clean one. Instead, of leaving or changing it she flipped it over. I went to the front desk to get fresh sheets. The associate informed me he did not know how to make a bed. This made me feel hesitant about returning to this Best Western.

The property look nothing like it was presented on the web. It was almost like a catfish could not watch TV cable signal wasn’t working properly, tub stopper wasn’t working, the bathroom fan wasn’t working correctly. It was very moist in there when showering, and there were also handprints on the headboards from previous customers.

The air conditioning in the room did keep the room nice and cool. The staff was very friendly. The fridge did not seem to keep the contents as cold as I would prefer. The whole experience was not excellent but very close.

Do not waste your money and time booking in this place this is not a hotel, this is a bad place smelling marihu@@@ everywhere, dirty, old.

Hotel was rather clean, tub did clog easily plenty of water/water pressure. Slightly leaking hand wash faucet, ac was good and cold, basic cable channels, beds not as comfortable on the thinner side compared to others ive been to and thin walls if you have neighborz not to bad but noticeable

The surrounding area is not what you’d picture. Its literally in front of the highway. From the moment I walked in the room it smelled odd and musty. The bathroom had strong odor of pee, the toilet seat was broken or lose when you sit it would slide to the side, the bathtub and sink were clogged (which they came and fixed). It was dusty and looked like they wiped with the dust around and left the dust still stuck on everything. The wall AC said filter needed replacement and the AC vents of the wall unit were very moldy and dirty. One of the nights my husband got up to go to the bathroom and a roach crawled out from under the bed. The bathroom wall had mold and parts of the doors and walls had paint chipping off. Felt like i was itchy sleeping there. Would not go back go any of their locations.

The rooms smelled damp, the shower in our room broke and they didn't fix it, nor did they give us a difference, we had a bad experience.

Weren’t very friendly when we checked in. When we checked out didn’t ask us how are stay was. Breakfast wasn’t very good. When making the waffles they didn’t have spray butter so everything was sticking and was hard to get out.

Loved our stay here definitely will be booking again. Room was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Front desk staff helped us with everything the place was quiet definitely a nice place for a family no worries about crime or anything I loved it plus they have a great breakfast buffet in the morning.

It was a horrible experience the room abouve stomped their feet all night long kept my whole family up all night long complained to the front desk but even the next day it kept happening we had to up and leave at 9 pm at night and go find another hotel would truly like our money back

The fellow at desk was nice but refuse to provide a room on first floor to senior citizens. Room was not clean for second day stay, used towels were left behind but clean towels were provided and roaches appeared at night.

Pro: Pool clean Area looked nice Location was just right for what I was in town for - camera all over the parking lot (safety for vehicles) Cons: -Water would not shut off in bathroom (told maintenance would take care of it later) -room door didn’t shut unless it was slammed shut. But once the lock was unlocked the door would pop open (kinda safety issue) -mold in bathroom on tub and corner of room -gnats constantly flying around -fridge wouldn’t stay cold and the freezer kept thawing so there was water in fridge.

The beach view I had from my room. To be able to see the sunrise in the mornings is amazingly beautiful. I would definitely keep coming back every chance I get. I had an unforgettable time.

When we first pulled up we were skeptical about the hotel due to how it looks on the outside. We then walked into the lobby and saw it wasn’t so bad but then we saw there were no elevators, we had to carry our suitcases upstairs to get to our room. We got into our room and were instantly so uncomfortable, it felt like we were staying at a motel. We didn’t even sit down anywhere, the bathroom was old, the lighting was terrible, everything about it was awful. The pictures they have on the website look nothin like the hotel room itself.

Upon arrival the host stated I didn’t have a reservation. He was unable to find my itenary#. I explained I had updated my date of arrival on the app and my update was for Saturday and Sunday. Host found reservation and stated it had been canceled per a call received from Expidia associate. I then asked if rooms were available and there was. I booked a room, but cancelled a minute after dye to host comment (make sure there is no stomping on floor from your children there is people in rooms under you). The comment was uncalled for no need for a comment like that. With that comment I cancelled the room and went in search of another hotel where my children would be welcomed.

The property was kept as "updated" as anyone would with trying to save on cash when updating. The rooms were musty, the AC units were on the wall and old. The receptionist was unwilling to give me another card because I had lost mine and had to ask for another, so I wanted 2 for me and my husband since they only gave us one at check-in. I also got bit by either a spider or some other bug. Never going to use Best Western again. Ever.

I picked this place because it had a decent rating and a very low price. The people who work there are very kind. My bathroom floor was dirty and there was an odd smell in the room. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The desk was convenient. The room was dark; it could definitely use a few more lights. Breakfast is mediocre. It is somewhat close to Lackland. Lots of traffic in the area. I probably will stay somewhere else next time.

Third time there front desk staff wasn’t as pleasant as the times before. One of the main reasons continued patronage was hostility.

Enjoyed my stay here. It was a short distance from where we needed to be for our visit. Only down side was they seemed short staffed. I know it’s not their fault. But having to leave my room with a toddler to get extra towels or anything else was a hassle from the second floor
