Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its location, with many guests finding it convenient for downtown events and restaurants. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful. However, there are frequent complaints about the cleanliness and condition of the rooms, with some guests finding them outdated or dirty. There are also several mentions of issues with parking and overpricing.

Room wasn’t ready until 4:50, no late checkout, took way the breakfast 30mins early, no hot tub, no parking so $50 to valet, struggled with 2children and luggage’s and offered no help. (My son ended up falling in front of the staff in the main lobby trying to help me with the luggage.)

What can I say, for being downtown Sacramento, I was surprised! Very happy with all aspects of this hotel! Very pleased, will definitely will stay again and again! Thank you Sheraton hotel staff!!!

I was here on business and think it was way overpriced for a weekend in downtown Sacramento. The staff members I interacted with were extremely helpful.

Nothing is included during a stay except for a room and a bed. Everything else, including Wi-Fi and parking and fresh coffee are extra. My room did not have conditioner in the shower, which I found out the hard way. Will likely not stay there again.

Yes. Bed was comfortable and staff was excellent from front desk through Cleaning. Valet outside could perhaps know a little more about the area would help needed. Room service was terrible from the paper bags to Styrofoam dishes the plastic utensils. Try cutting an expensive steak with plastic. Amenities that used to be available such as robes are no longer around. You need to train your valets better to assist incoming passengers to knowing what’s available around the area for questioning guests.

Let me just say, we stayed here Memorial Day weekend 2026. The front desk did an amazing job despite how busy they were. The valet parking, as well as the bellman were wonderful. With all the pressure to retrieve vehicles and make everyone comfortable the hotel staff was amazing. I look forward to my next visit.

It was good; however, the elevator was out of order and cause long lines at times. It was a good stay overall.

Great location right next to the conference center, and incredibly helpful, friendly staff. Lovely renovations and bar, and our room felt clean and comfortable. Only issues were the huge rushes that happen around event cycles, meaning the morning wait for a $7 cup of coffee during a volleyball weekend was 15 minutes, and waiting for the car valet at the end of the volleyball tournament was 40 minutes. Also the pool was disappointing and left trashed by athletes, well into the next morning. Will definitely return, but we recommend allowing for extra time when attending popular events at the conference center next door.

it's a 25+ floor hotel, only have 4 elevators and two were out of order. We were there for Volleyball tournament in the convention center cross street, there are many many family in the tournament, so in the morning when the player ready heading to tournament, we wait for the elevator at least 20 mins, when we finally finally about to get in the very crowded elevator, it's of course stopped every floors but nobody can get it.
- 2/5
The hotel has over 25 floors with 32 rooms average per floor. The hotel had 1/2 of its elevators working with a packed hotel full of volleyball players and prom events. The wait for an elevator was very long and each elevator was full making it impossible to come and go from your room with ease. I inquired about servicing the elevators and I was met with resistance. In addition, the hotel nickel and dimes you for everything, including WIFI. While the location is ideal and the hotel is actually clean and beautiful, I would not stay here again.

Room service for breakfast was great. Coffee didn’t come with milk and oatmeal was missing almonds. Coffee was ok. Downstairs was great and room comfortable. Elevators were a problem with so many people and 2 being out of service. Took almost 20 minutes to go down. Great location. Would stay again. See above

The view of the City from the 14th floor was great and the window box was great fun to people watch . Honestly nothing at this point.

We had an excellent stay, even while the hotel was undergoing construction. The staff took extra care to clearly reroute guests and minimize inconvenience, which we truly appreciated. Our room was neat, updated, and very comfortable. The linens were crisp and felt wonderful. One of the elevators was out of service and for a weekend with a high volume of people, that extra elevator would have been helpful, but wasn't too much of an issue.

Steven was fabulous bringing me up and down floors to the temp room for check in but at $300 a night it was dull & ugly and took forever to check in even tho no line. The room was empty when I got there - No Staff! Then we were given wrong room w a king, not the 2 and ordered and had to leave for wedding without a room. When I got back from wedding there were many pilots checking in and one staff member and again it took forever. The elevators were slow as hundreds of teens were staying for a YMCA convention going up and down but happily not rowdy. It burned me knowing they & pilots likely paid half the price I did. I have stayed at this Sheraton several times before and the bar and choice of food was lacking from those times so I ordered. Nothing and went to bed disappointed. From now my choice will be the Haytt next door. Disappointing to say the least on such a special even I was staying for.

Rooms were nice and clean, we had a quiet room at the end of the hall. Construction, had to go up to the 2nd floor to use the elevator and 3rd floor for front desk. Stairs were blocked when huge crowds of families just wanted to get up to their rooms asap. We showed up at the hotel around 10am and had to wait in the lobby until I went back to the front desk at 4:00 to get a room. Pool was closed due to construction and I don’t think we knew this ahead of time.

This hotel is a joke. It is undergoing renovation, so there are curtains inside. But let's start from the beginning. If you arrive after midnight, for example, you have to solve a puzzle to get into the hotel. We searched for the entrance for a good 15 minutes. The valet parking staff we asked to show us the entrance couldn't tell us either. So we wandered around like free electrons. At one point, the door that was closed opened because someone was leaving the hotel. We didn't wait, we just slipped inside. Reception? Here's another puzzle. It turns out that the reception is on the 3rd floor and looks like someone built it there yesterday. But this is the four-star Sheraton Grand, so let's not expect too much. When you think that's all the disappointments, there's still breakfast. I had to go into the kitchen to ask the staff where the hell I was supposed to go for breakfast. It turned out to be in some club on the second or third floor. You can't get in. The card doesn't work even though I booked a room with breakfast. There is no staff, and the only way to get in is when someone leaves the club, which, incidentally, is microscopic. Overall, I do not recommend it. Beware of the Sheraton Grand in Sacramento and you have been warned. Everything

I love this hotel and look forward to staying here every time I'm in town on business. The rooms are spotless, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. There was no robe available The frigo bar was absolutely 100% empty The place was under construction in renovation and it felt like we were going to a motel instead of actual hotel five star Hotel There was no room service for Food after 10:00 PM I could go on and on about how a place in full renovation should not have charged at the high price of they charged us for the room I’ll definitely not go back and I would ask anyone to check about this hotel before going if they have finished their renovation if all those items have been completed otherwise there are plenty of hotels available in the area that are much better

While a great location, disappointed with amenities due to construction. Our room was spacious but the "barn door" bathroom door doesn’t close completely and inside of door obviously doesn’t get cleaned often as the inside was dirty with soda sprayed all over it. Staff was helpful and very courteous.

Stayed in room 2746 on the 13th of September 2025. Checked out on the 14th of September 2025. Four hours after leaving the hotel we realized we left a shoe bag in the closet. NOT LOST, left behind but when we called the hotel, they said policy is to fill out out a lost and found report which is a third party. Gave full description of all items in the shoe bag. but to this date, September 27, 2025, THEY ARE STILL SEARCHING. What happened to the days when someone would go up to the room, grab the bag and hold it at the front desk or in security at the hotel.

Stayed here with a family of four for two nights. The location is convenient, but the rooms felt cramped. The breakfast buffet was underwhelming—limited options and not worth the price. Service was basic. Parking was frustrating; valet took 20–30 minutes to retrieve the car, and the area was always crowded. Based on what I heard from fellow travelers, the Hyatt Regency next door offers a better overall experience—more comfort, better value, and smoother service.

Expedia advertised a package and charged me $29 extra for amenities it never gave me. Don’t buy the prepaid valet, or the discover Sacramento package as Expedia will just deny they ever took your money and blame the hotels and you for trying to prepay and plan. Expedia will never waste my time again.

Won't be going back, expensive, additional charges for everything, just not worth it anymore.

I booked through Expedia and was asked to use my personal credit for incidentals. When I got home from my trip, my company card and personal card were both charged for the rate. It was an obvious mistake by the hotel but it took me three hours to get refunded. I’m scheduled to go back, but I will never stay at this hotel ever again

It’s an urban setting downtown and very busy. Homeless are quite at home around there.

Love the property for fitness, cleanliness and convenience to the restaurants and music circus. The garage across the street should be more reasonable.

Everything good except during the conference I attended -- hotel needs to get a lot quicker on replacing coffee and hot water when they run out.

The beds are not Queen so an adult and only a small child could barely fit in them. Not for families.

Launch club room had no milk or coffee not to mention food. In restaurant we had to wait 45 min for dish to arrive so we left before it could be served. We had commitments that were time sensitive . Pool was under construction and it was 91F outside

The happy hour offerings were limited to egg rolls, a cheese board, water, and soft drinks, lacking the typical wine and beer selection expected at happy hours. Breakfast comprised premade hot plates; while the yogurt and fruit were satisfactory, a comparable experience could have been had at a Quality Inn for less. For a $500 price tag, the overall experience left much to be desired. The staff were very nice and attentive however I won’t stay here again with that price tag.

The valet parking does not guarantee your car is safe while parked. We were worried all night. Our car was ok thank goodness.

Did not like having to pay $30 to park, pool was empty--should have been told about this at check in. Tried to get room close to my son's (he checked in at same time), that didn't work either, my room on 19 th floor and his on the 6 th.

The shower in the room had no soap in dispensers. And also, parking is across the street in a garage that charges $25 per night. I love the location of the hotel for restaurants, breweries and concert venues.

Jessica at the bar was great!!

Good location if you are doing something downtown. They do an excellent job keeping up the property as it is a large footprint.

For the price the room was a bit small and did not have the requested walk-in shower.

The front desk service was friendly and fast, and both check-in and check-out was very smooth and easy. Our room was on the 13th floor and fairly spacious. It was in good condition, but all the fixtures, furniture, and finishes were tired. Everything was functional and clean so no complaints at all, but maybe a refresh is due soon. If you're staying in downtown Sacramento I would recommend the Grand Sheraton, and I'd stay here again.

Nice room to stay for a work event. Didn’t like that the bedding was all separate layers of sheets, rather than duvet with cover. Got bunched up in the night. But other than that, a great stay.

We always stay here when attending live theater at the Performing Arts Center across the street and it never disappoints. The service at checkin is polite and efficient. Valet parking and luggage handling were a godsend. Dinner in the Public Market Bar was tasty and fast. The bed was super comfortable. The room quiet. A great stay.

A convenient hotel for downtown Sacramento, close to the Capitol buildings. Parking will cost $30 per day and is a short walk across the street. Clean room, and on the 24th floor it was nice and quiet. No morning breakfast though.
- 3/5
Extremely overpriced for a very average room. The room was comparable to a Holiday Inn Express but we paid a luxury hotel rate! We selected this hotel because of the proximity to downtown restaurants and attractions. If we had to do it again we would rent a car and drive into the downtown area. Our rooms were VERY overpriced. In addition, the area surrounding the hotel felt very unsafe after dark.

This trip was a quick weekend trip to the PBR in Sacramento, CA. The hotel staff and hotel it self was clean and amazing. The only suggestion I would make is replace the pillow with more firm pillows. I had 2 pillows and it seemed as if I was as laying flat on the bed. Other than that I really enjoyed the stay.

Love it will stay again, best thing was the female front desks people and a make waiter at night, he was tipped well because he was amazing, I really mean it.

I enjoyed my room on the 6th floor of this hotel, very pleasant room design. The main lobby feels pleasant and welcoming. Easy acces to good restaurants and downtown touristic places like the Capitol, the Stanford Mansion and the main cathedral.
