Motel 6 Rock Hill, SC

From the outside, the propery looks nice. Inside it is a rundown dirty motel in need of major refurbishing. The first room we were assigned, #138, was a complete disaster. The bathtub liner was completely cracked and not suitable for safe use. The bathroom ceiling has a hole large enough I could fit my head through. It is very dirty. There were bugs crawling on the sheets when we turned down the spread. The linen and towels are stained in both rooms. We complained to the front desk and were moved to a different room. The front desk clerk said she saw we had been assigned #138 and knew about the issues, but didn't make any change. She questioned the room assignment when she came on duty, but assigned us to the room anyways. The next room was better, but not good. This bathtub was badly rusted where you stand. The shower curtain rod would not stay in place so the curtain hung in the middle and could not be closed. Stained linen and dirty floors throughout!! We did not expect a room at the Hilton, but Motel 6 is usually clean and well maintained. Pick another place to stay.

Motel 6 should revoke their license to this location. Ownership clearly does NOT care about maintaining this property, total slumlord vibes. The entire building smells like dirty old mop water which is no surprise since we didn’t even have hot water. Moldy, musty, screaming kids, barking dogs, crackheads lurking. Do not stay here.

Hotel is in pretty bad condition mold in multiple rooms, carpet in hallways are disgusting, roaches everywhere, towels are dingy and stained heavily, bedding is stained and has burn marks, plumbing issues, only good thing about the place is the woman whom works the front desk Monday-Friday..

You can call it the roach motel. Disgusting and gross. I think people live there. The bathroom was so gross I didn't get a shower and there was a gapping hole in the wall. I demand a refund. Reporting that hotel to the health department.

Well the staff was nice but honestly a little scared and not clean. There was hair in my bathroom which is dog hair. Towels was dirty the bed linen had spots and a smell. I guess u get what u pay for. Will I be back nah. Definitely location was good. Someone doesn’t care about there building. Sorry just my honest opinion.

A/C was ok the lobby area was ok there was a police investigation going on when I arrived so I wasn’t sure about that the hallway to the rooms were so bad if I had time I would’ve went to another location and the rooms was even worse

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. I had booked online and wasn't aware that they required a security deposit. They allowed me to check in and waived the deposit. The room was extremely clean and tidy. Overall my stay here at motel 6 was amazing. Also the bed was surprisingly comfortable to be a hotel. In fact it was some of the best sleep I've had in a while.

The hotel is in poor shape. There was no hot water,The tub/shower had cracks in it, There were a few holes in the walls, the space to hang a roll of toilet paper was a square cut into the vanity, but no way to hang it so it was just sitting on top of the vanity, etc. We were surprised that this hotel was even offered as a choice by your company. The parking was fine, but not much else.

The room was nice but the TV didn’t work. There was no furniture or chairs. There was no chairs or sofas in the rooms. The bathroom tub had paint peeling off. The water pressure was horrible and it smelled like weed and cigarettes when walking the hallways.

Would have loved to see crisp clean sheets and pillow cases but wasn’t sure if bedding had been changed from previous guest. Spilled a little water on the floor and the paper towel came up dirty. Didn’t shower as the tub drain filled up immediately. I didn’t want to stand in water from other guest rooms because of backed up drains I know it’s a reasonable rate…especially if you have a pet…next time I will bring my own bedding.

Roach infestation, none of the bathroom fixtures were actually secured to the walls, the sink was about to fall off, the toilet seat was loose, paint was peeling off the tub, it was a very uncomfortable stay. Staff was friendly and apologetic but the stay was not good.

Absolutely nothing It smelled horrible. It was absolutely filthy. They had cockroaches. The staff was rude. Everyone in the hotel was partying. The hallway had a huge carpet stain stains. I walked in the room and walked right back out. We did not even stay. We didn’t even ask for a refund I slid the door key on the front desk and left.

It was somewhere to stay for the night I was woken up at 12am by staff knocking on my door saying that I wasn't supposed to be in the room. I just checked in at 3pm that day. They made me get up and get dressed to come to the front desk to find out that they never put in that I had arrived. It had me so aggravated that I couldn't sleep

The first room I was sent to had molded walls and unmade beds. I was quickly and politely moved to a more acceptable room. During my shower I did have to combat a "palmetto bug". Lots of people arguing in other rooms and around facility during the night and morning. Strong smell of weed throughout area. Luckily it was a one night visit, but I will not use this motel again.

The main lobby is very nice. It was easy to check in and the staff was very friendly. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a problem with the Internet at the time, it kept cycling off and on. Instructions to operate the TV would be helpful. Of note there were no safety handrails in the bathroom anywhere. I would stay there again for sure.

Room access was on an interior hallway. 2 German cockroaches came to visit me on Saturday night, before I went to bed. I was able to kill one of them. A third cockroach was laying on the floor on Sunday morning, belly up, kicking, I killed that one too. The bathroom faucet on the lavatory was not attached to the countertop.

Room 208 was sold as a kitchenette. There was a broken microwave, a descent fridge, no range, no cookware, no eating equipment or glassware, a bar sink with no hot water. The hide a bed couch in that half of the room was incredibly filthy, stained, a rescue from the dump. The cushions completely collapsed. There was no other furniture in the room that would be cosistent with a kitchenette, no dining table or chairs, no desk, no chairs to gather people for conversations.no wastebasket was seen. The closet had no rod to hang up clothes, the bathtub was painted years ago and half the paint had peeled. The mattresses had no support. The lighting was poor at best with small leds in 3 places in the bedroom. Each half of the room had a tv, but there was one remote control that did not work in either tv, i asked for the front desk to help, they brought batteries from another rooms tv. That also did not work. I am slightly disabled, the room is on the second floor with no elevator. Asking help to take suitcases and foods up stairs and then downstairs the next day was a failure. There is one luggage cart on each floor for the whole hotel, making everyone wait for the previous person to finish. The general atmosphere was just depressing and dismal. The front desk clerks were very slow to respond to any request, 2 hours to get towels for the pool available with the directions to go find housekeeping. Maybe they have some towels. Absolutely the bottom of the hotel barrel.

Love staying here but you gotta watch where you're dogs pee and poop make sure to ask staff work. You can walk your dog to poop and pee because if they go in the wrong area, it'll cost you you're deposit. And more wounds up costing us $350 because my wife we ended up getting kicked out we are no longer allowed to stay here.

It looks much better on the inside than the outside. There is a giant pothole right at the entrance that is a vacation destroyer for distracted guests. Our room had some unfinished touches (remodeling-wise) but, overall it was clean.

The staff there is rude and disrespectful. They really need to just close that location as they've got roaches living for free, and the staff play elementary school games and if you don't partake, then they will play you like a fiddle, so they think. That's why they are all there and will remain there as my husband and I are making moves in a positive manner for us.

The property around the motel was ok. My issue is inside the hallway and the room. The hallway smell of unclean body and the room had a musty smell to it. I had to endure this for two night for a eventbi was covering.

The hotel needs to be remodeled. Inside and outside. The carpet needs to be replaced. Or pulled up. The tubs need to be replaced and the door as well. The room is spacious . Over all the hotel needs renovation ASAP.

Rooms dirty . Hallway smelly . It had roaches crawling all over the bathroom. The worst hotel I been and I left after 3hrs checking in . Never again

Hotel neighbors were noisy. Some noise from the interstate. Dead roaches on the chair that sits under the desk, assuming they don"t check it and clean it in between cleanings. Killed 2 roaches. Bathtub is in poor shape, paint peeling. Guy in the lobby was nice.

Walls and doors were very thin you could hear people in other rooms and hallways loudly talking past midnight. Interior walls and bath tub were dirty and unmaintained, old paints were peeling off and tub finishes were moldy and unsanitary. I badly needed a shower but couldn’t stand the smell and sight of the bathroom. Never again!

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. After driving all day on a 4,000-mile business trip, I checked into a room that was absolutely unacceptable. The shower was ice-cold and never warmed up, which was frustrating enough, but it was also filthy. The drain was clogged with someone else’s pubic hair, and it was clear the shower hadn’t been cleaned at all. The room itself clearly hadn’t been cleaned either—other than the bed, which had been made. The towels were stained and questionable, and the bathroom electrical outlet was fried, making it a fire hazard. When I showed photos of the issues to Ana at the front desk, she just shrugged and said, "It should get hotter," offering no solutions or help. Later in the night after shift change, Pam looked with me for another room. Five rooms checked. Three she said were filthy, and two she shrieked at audibly. I stayed in my room and asked for cleaning supplies whoch she gave to me. Smh After a long day of travel, all I wanted was a clean, safe place to rest, and this was far from that. This property is a health and fire hazard, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Avoid at all costs.

room 107. my king bed only had 2 pillows. Saw some bugs. No tv remote. no coffee maker. paint coming off shower floor. bathroom faucet completely wiggles.

From the outside on arrival, we had high hopes that the property would live up to our expectations, since it had a 7 out of 10 rating. However upon entering the rooms, we were very disappointed. It was an unpleasant smell in both rooms, one of the rooms had a roach immediately visible, and the next morning we found one in the bed where the baby was sleeping. The bathrooms are awful, the bathtubs are peeling, there's mold and rest around the tubs, to the extent that we didn't even want to shower there. We aren't sure why this hotel has good ratings but maybe if they invested as much in the rooms as they did in the exterior and the lobby it would be a place worth returning to.

My husband is epileptic and had a seizure while at this property and instead of checking on him or getting help they sat behind the desk and talked badly about him and everyone else there. Then proceeded to kick us out for a MEDICAL CONDITION and kept my deposit even though there were no damages to the property. Staff is very unprofessional and rude and the owner allowed them to treat guest that way. The rooms are infested with roaches and someone is over dosing every 5 mins. Cops are constantly there. Staff member made a key to my room for someone that wasnt staying in my room! It is non stop drama and employees are high and begging guest for their medication. This place is a joke. The property and staff are just beyond amazing and helpful as we are not from the Carolinas so it was challenging at first but since being here at the motel, things are not as challenging as before.

Bed sheets were (clearly) not changed, we slept with our clothes on!! Broken tiles and bathtub was peeling off. Bathroom door falling apart. Room was cold when we got in, you would think that, having a reservation, they would have turned the heat on before we arrived. All in all, not a pleasant experience. The lobby was done nicely and staff was great, other than that, I would not recommend.

There were holes on both sides of bathtub where bugs came in from the wall. They painted the bathtub and the paint was pealing. When I got locked out of my room to have cigarette in my car, there was nobody at the front desk for 30 mins. I'll never go back!!

Also the person at the front desk didn't seem to concerned about it when i reported it and showed her a photo. Also the smoke detector was missing inside the room.

They charge a $50 smoking deposit and the hallways reek of marijuana. The rooms are in poor condition. Bathtub peeling. Ceilings water damaged and peeling.

No tv no internet reception and roaches.

I didn’t even stay 30 minutes at the property there was bugs in the room the floor was sticky and the whole place smelled like cigarettes and dirty feet

The lobby was nice, but it ended there. The hallway carpet was stained & very smelly. The patrons put their garbage & dirty laundry in the hallway. Once we got by the gauntlet of stank, the room was pretty good. The bed was comfy & the room was clean. Earplugs & a spray can of Lysol would come in handy. Good for one night, but that’s all.

It appeared that this hotel was in a remodeling faze....no lobby or area to sit in.

It is cheap and pet friendly. The area for pet is awesome. Big space. Property is large.

No working internet or TV, room had clearly not been thoroughly cleaned. Dirty towels, trash on floor, etc. But, very cheap and an otherwise pleasant stay.

Despite having paid in full several days ahead, the property canceled my reservation without notice or refund. I only found out that I did not have a room anymore when I arrived and was told they booked 20 more rooms than they have.

Everyone was great.

When we first arrived we stood at the front desk for over 30 minutes waiting to be greeted by staff or anything then when did finally speak to someone it was because another guest gave us a number to call and when the staff answered she was rude and basically said she was busy with another guest. Then we went to the room and there was mold on the roof of the bathroom, dog poop on the wall in the bathroom, and smelled horrible (the hallway smelled worse than the room) and all night long people were loud and dogs whining and kids running up and down the hallways. We will never be staying at this motel again.

Is not a place I'd stay again. Lobby was beautiful, but deceptive of the interior. Hallway carpet was not clean, and the place smelled of mildew. Around back where we parked, there were old abandoned cars in the parking lot. Room smelled and the restroom smelled like dried piss. I apologized to my wife and son the entire weekend, because i booked. Could have left but, didn't want to waste the money..2 nights of dogs barking and pure hell... saw roaches and the tv only had 4 channels. They wanted a 50.00 deposit, but should be giving guests a 50.00 deposit to stay there for incidentals!!Should be inspected and shut dow!!

Entering the building it was very well remodeled. Staff was amazing an friendly. But once we left the lobby area to go to our rooms it had a odd not good smell in the hallways. It did for the night and would try again once its completely done but for now it was good in a bind but not a favorite for sure.
