Hampton Inn Richmond-Midlothian Turnpike

This is a decent property but not worth the $240 a night we paid. The property is a need or painting and trim repairs and the breakfast, while hot, is pretty basic but not bad. The coffee is decent. It's a budget hotel at best...not what I used to expect from a Hampton Inn or at $240 per night price point.

Great stay here with my wife and a friend! Visiting some friends in the area and this place was plenty close to the neighborhoods we needed to be in making it really easy to visit. Also close to some food options for a late dinner. Hotel was clean and well maintained and the breakfast was great! Typical hotel hot breakfast buffet set up that met expectations. All of the workers were super kind and helpful and I was even able to call the day before and request an early check in and they accommodate it! We had an event we needed to be at starting at 3 and wanted to be able to drop stuff off and change first, we were able to check in by 1:30 giving us plenty of time to do all that! Overall great stay and will definitely stay again if I’m in this area.

The property was fine I got there a little early and was told that I couldn’t check in until 3 which was fine I got back at 4pm and still had to wait and check in the receptionist could have been a little bit more in tune with customer by having some sort of communication a conversation instead of saying wait let me see if your room is ready and then come back and say your room is such and such I’m not complaining but I work in customer service so I’m big on communication and conversation I preach it to my staff members

These rooms were not very quiet. The first night we stayed next door to a room that seemed to house a special needs child that was very loud and vocal. This went on for a couple of hours the next morning with his parents yelling at him for yelling. Not helpful! We asked for a room change for the next night and all they could provide was a downgraded room. (Double vs King) The desk staff person said the she would talk to the general manager whom we never heard from. The second room had an adjoining door to the room next door that was again, not quiet. The guest next door talked on this phone for about an hour and we could hear him and the woman on the phone that he was talking to. So we spent two night in two rooms without much sleep. The maintenance in both rooms was lacking with ragged carpet edges at the thresholds and baseboards. The breakfast ran out of bagels on the second day and there was no fruit to be had on either morning.

I really enjoyed the stay, staff was very welcoming, polite, made you feel safe.. If you needed anything it wasn't a issue for staff to accommodate you.. Very clean.. All areas.. Breakfast was outstanding... I would recommend the Hampton Inn to anyone...

Unfortunately when I got up today I was greeted by a cockroach was now impressed. Other than than it was ok.

Wonderful staff, Nelly at the desk was so helpful when we extended our stay! Linda was in charge of our delicious breakfasts, and everyone we interacted with was a delight. Room was clean, and we had a great time!

Location was convenient When I checked into the room, it had a smell or an odor. I reported it to the front desk staff and I wasn’t offered to move rooms or any of that so I wasn’t satisfied with the room at all.

On the downside the hall carpet needs replacing and the rooms need laminate flooring in the meantime how about some better quality bath tissue - the Scott’s is not up to par. Overall - nice - we will be back!

The MOD that checked us in on arrival was extremely professional and very pleasant to deal with. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and fit our needs. We did have a couple of issues the day of check-in and they were addressed immediately . Very satisfied with our stay!

I liked that they didn't clean the room everyday unless you asked. Also the conservation of plastics by using large bottles of shampoo etc in the bath Bed was very high, difficult to get into.

Property was set back off the main road but near food, gas and shopping which was convenient. No complaint about the facilities. The only small complaint was there was a vacuum noise between 9-10:30 pm that was a little annoying.

Staff was not great, the lady who clean around when it comes to breakfast time even slap my child’s hand for taking more then one napkin, lady was too old for me to call the cops on her but my mouth didn’t stay quiet. It was uncalled for, it was extremely rude. We check in I ask front desk for toilet paper n they totally missed that. Till the next morning. Horrible thankfully I had baby wipes. Dryer was so low in head I spend $10 only to dry. Only plus abt this place was the pool no being over chlorinated n the fitness room well equipped. Nice maintenance guy who fix the fridge as it didn’t work for a whole day, very friendly other than that not again sorry.

The rooms were lovely, recently updated with very nice amenities. The lobby is a bit less updated, and we were surprised the bathrooms are locked at all times. The receptionist, while pleasant and professional, was not super attentive and failed to alert us when our room was ready.

I arrived later in the evening and was exhausted from a long day of travel, so when I went to collapse into bed, I was very disappointed that my king bed was markedly sagging in the middle. Due to my work schedule, I had little time to try to request a room change, and when I went to the lobby the next morning, all the computers were down and staff seemed flummoxed. When I left around 1pm for a meeting, I told the front desk person the cleaning staff could now clean my room, and his response was "Oh, they're totally booked, they won't be able to get to your room -- but maybe tomorrow." But my stay was only 2 nights, so I would be leaving "tomorrow." Unfortunately, it was definitely a below average stay.

I have nothing but good things to report for my stay! The fact that a varied and delicious buffet breakfast is included in the price makes this place an excellent value in my opinion! It's actually hard for me to come up w/something I find less than great. I guess if I was gonna mention anything picky...it would be that there's a slight pitch in the ground floor hall on one end. They installed a handrail which helps people like myself w/ bad knees ( going even slightly downhill is the part that gets my attn w/messed-up knees). But like I said, that's a picky item. I would overall highly recommend this place from my stays thus far.

Of all the hotels we’ve utilized in this area, this one felt nicely updated. The bathroom was modern and functional. No musty smell. The space was comfortable, and the location is convenient to many things.

Stayed 3 nights while visiting family in the area. Hotel is well located off of Midlothian Hwy next to Target and Kohls. Lots of dining and shopping options in the area. Quiet and clean. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Would stay again.

Put a board holder on the road to see it properly. It was sitting behind gas station and need to peek when moving through the traffic

This is a well-maintained, excellent place to stay. The downside is that there is not a safe way to walk to restaurants because there are no sidewalks. There are many fast food restaurants in the area but not many restaurants. You will need to drive to a restaurant.

I've stayed at this Hampton before and it was remodeled last year, so its pretty fresh and well maintained. The staff has always been pleasant and I've had no issues whatsoever. Free breakfast is a plus, and the area has plenty of shopping and restaurants, so no shortage of things to do. Great little diner right across the way behind the WaWa as well.

Definitely loved that it is modern, this is why I chose the hotel. But, more attention and detail is needed in the cleaning: our bathroom had multiple hairs on the floor! There were hairs in the nooks and crannies of the bathroom as well as in plain sight.

It was really nice staff amazing

The room was clean. The property is undergoing renovation outside. We had problems checking out. The desk clerk attempted to charge Travelocity more than the price quoted. It took me 35 minutes on the phone to resolve. Clearly the hotel’s fault.

Overall a decent Hampton Inn, although rennovations were ongoing during my stay, so the entrance was blocked and not clearly marked for the alternate entrance. Not a big deal, as this is temporary. Property was well maintained and clean, but the front desk staff was almost never at the front desk, always in a back room or off someplace. This made check in and check out a little slow. Otherwise a decent deal for the money and the consistent rooms that Hampton offers.

I like the place close to my job

Darius art the front desk was very kind and helpful. The lady that worked at the breakfast was wonderful too, i think her name was Maria. But the rugs are very dirty in the hallway abs the rooms. Outside the building is very dirty too.

Very clean, nice room and friendly personnel

Upgraded rooms are nice and comfortable.

Property was clean and the room we had was recently renovated. Staff was very courteous.

Pricey for being under renovation. Dirty and dusty, amenities not available but that doesn't stop them from keeping their prices high. No Hilton Honors perks.

We were never given a heads up that "Hey, we are doing a lot of renovation and you will have no pool, no exercise room, and everything will look dirty." Tell people ahead of time so they can make an informed decision.

Currently going through a renovation so construction type work taking place during the day

Under major renovations, the pool, exersize room were closed. Rooms not as clean as other Hamptons. Front being painted, flooring under repair in spots. I would go back in a few months.
