Breakfast was great and the staff efficient and friendly.

For me, the location was excellent, less than 10min and 2 turns from the home of those I was visiting. I didn't have breakfast, but liked that I had the option. Also liked the very convenient little market. It seemed there was no A/C in the elevator, and it was a very hot weekend. I was a little bummed there was a fridge but no microwave in my room, but perhaps there was one in the market space I didn't see? Other than that, no complaints at all.

We did not try the paid breakfast but would have loved complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning. However we did appreciate the free waters each day. Our room was very quiet and clean. The bed was very comfortable and we had great sleeps both nights. (Although the pillows seemed pretty flat - definitely need to double up) The bed being so comfortable outweighs the flat pillows. ;) Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely choose this hotel again when we come back for business.

I didn't have children or pets so I can't say. Room was very clean and staff was professional in maintaining room. I will come back and recommend 👌

Our breakfast experience was disappointing. The food quality was poor, but the service was worse; the staff member was quite dismissive and initially refused to serve my son, despite him being included on our breakfast card. It took an intervention from the manager to resolve the issue. Ultimately, the service did not meet the expectations promised at check-in.

The rooms are a touch outdated but clean. Beds and pillows need updating. The lobby area was clean - staff was super nice and very accommodating!! Always a smile, welcome when we came in and always looking to serve at the bar for a drink or food.

Toilet in our room was very low. Mattress was terrible. Fitness room was very small. Overall the property looked worn and old.

The cable TV had poor reception (or something) and kept cutting out to the point you couldnt watch it. The a/c heat pump made a squealing noise every hour to make sure you stayed awake all night. Now, this was the cherry on top for me and that was the Breakfast Bowl prepared by the kitchen staff. Again, I didnt get the lovely lady's name that assisted me Monday morning, but between the delicious breakfast bowl and her courteous service I didnt want to ever leave this place.

The room was very clean. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was average but the issue is your choice is either one cup of coffee or one orange juice. That will not stop me from coming back but it is strange. Price was good and worth it.

Great rooms and very clean with easy access to VCU. The mini store is way over priced. Over 8 dollars for one adult beer beverage when there's a multitude of convenience stores nearby where you could buy 6 for that. Im sure they are all out of date because no one would pay that.

I sent my adult children to Richmond for a concert. I prepaid the hotel room in put it in my oldest's name. They still had a complicated check in. It took multiple phone calls, texts, and email searches to get them checked in. None of my emails had a confirmation number, just a reservation number. The checkin process needs to be easier, especially when parties are traveling out-of-state.

I never felt entirely safe in the part of town at this location. Always made certain that I was in before dark. Staff checking in was very nice, otherwise never saw a soul. Parking was very isolated and scary. The hotel itself is very outdated and looks like something from the 1970’s. Would not stay again.

If I had to pick a fault, it wasn't anything they did wrong. Our AC quit working and our room was hot, but we were all too tired at midnight to do anything about it. I alerted staff in the morning and they said they'd have moved us, had they known. Again, this is 100% our fault for not wanting to move. Beds were comfy. No weird smells. Would stay here again.

I like Courtyard by Marriott because they are usually clean and kept up. The Richmond West was above my expectations. Every place you went you saw the hard work of the staff. The rugs, tables, lounge areas, clean. Hallways, bathrooms, hotel room, hotel rugs and bathrooms were clean. Thank you again for paying attention to the details! Upon arrival the staff were so kind and friendly. We were told about the restaurant and bar. After settling in our room we went to the restaurant. The menu is limited but but ample enough for a quick dinner. They had a Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato soup our favorite. The meal was very tasty. Perfect comfort food after a very long drive.

Friendly staff and clean rooms. Bathroom was huge in the one bedroom suite and water pressure was good. No free breakfast. My kids has a rough night sleep on the pull out bed, can’t image if an adult has to sleep on it.

We stayed with our baseball team for a tournament. The hotel smelled like Marijuana the entire stay, It was a strong smell. The air conditioning was not keeping it cool, and it was not very clean.

I frequently stay there when I’m in Va but that may change due to the cleanliness. The pull out mattress had a rancid smell. I went to the Home Depot across the street and purchased some Lysol. Please I ask, make sure those rocks outside the patio doors are cleans daily because the smell of urine is just unsanitary!

Stay was fine, I'm here often. I was a bit upset as I prepaid for stay, when I arrived for check in, I though I was paying the incidental fee, however was charged again for the room in error and the rep was unable to fix it. So here I am waiting for the additional charge to fall off.

Bistro Restaurant at Hotel-pay as you go was efficient, food delicious, and reasonably priced.

Lovely staff. Dreary accommodations. Accumulated grime and debris on ceilings around air vents. Harsh fluorescent lighting throughout. Beds were fine.

Good location - downtown 15-20min max, convenient parking. Clean, spaceous, can work from the room if needed. Sometimes cleaning was not done properly (towels on the floor left), or wasn’t done at all (even trash was left).

He didn’t have ingredients for a requested drink, so forced an unwanted one. Made us feel guilty for ordering food by sighing and exclaimed “now’s not the time to order food, man, you’re supposed to order a drink!”. The check-in and check-out employees were LOVELY and very helpful! We won’t be back, though.

Not the best Marriott I stayed in , middle of the road.

I have stayed at this location several times with my husband. The same desk clerk (Bryan) checked me/us in the past 3 times! Bryan is very competent, knowledgable and friendly. Bryan made sure I had all information I needed. He made the check-in effortless! Thank you, Bryan!

We were confirmed for a King size room with sofa bed. We got to the room, no sofa bed. They got us another room, but the room had a filthy carpet with stains. The sofa bed mattress was paper thin and very uncomfortable, plus no pillows were supplied so we had to go to the front desk. The phone didn’t have a front desk button. The room was overpriced, outside of the lobby and bar, the rest of the hotel needs an upgrade. Our room felt more like a motel and not a Marriott brand. Will not stay here if we return.

Spent 4 nights at this Marriott. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, the room while not ultra fancy was clean and comfortable. The hotel was a short and easy drive to downtown as well as some of the areas surrounding the city. Prices were reasonable and definitely cheaper than staying downtown and there was ample free parking on the premises. Overall a great stay and I would definitely come back again!

It was an old leak because the ceiling was stained and the plaster wascoming down.

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. We had a glass of wine at the bar and then breakfast the next morning. The bistro staff was very friendly and the drinks/food great. I've never had a bad experience at a Courtyard by Marriott.

Friendly and professional staff who went out of their way to be accommodating. They were always personable, friendly and kind. Bed was comfortable and the room exceptionally clean. The area is not the most attractive and the chain link fence was a little intimidating to say the least.

Service was OK but the hotel isn’t horrible condition. Very dirty and very outdated. I asked for room service literally all they done was change out towels, and fold my old sheets back up on the bed. Did not empty the trash, put the same shower mat down on the floor and did not mop.

Hotel lobby has been upgraded but rooms are dated. Sofa bed was dirty and very uncomfortable. Staff was nice though.

The property was fine. I feel like the rate was too high considering what part of town it is located in but it served our purpose.

Pullout was dirty and no sheets or pillows in the room to make it up but guest services was quick

Staff was very friendly in this very clean and neat Courtyard. We checked in late and the front desk women was very nice

The staff was very welcoming. My only complaint about this property is that it was the firmest bed I've ever slept on. It was to the point of being uncomfortable.

Professional staff, easy to access, and lots of green for the dog. Would stay again.

Hotel stay was very pleasant. The rooms were clean just a bit dated. The caulking in the bathroom was stained but all in all we had a very good stay. We will return if we need to stay in the area again. The halls are narrow and my husband is in a wheelchair and the maids had the exit completely blocked this morning we had to move their carts ourselves to get out to our car.

I loved my room. It was spacious and cozy. The rooms are a bit dated as far as amenities but overall very cozy and made for a comfortable stay. Wasn't a fan of the Bistro Restaurant. Good concept but not great food. It will work if you're desperate but it's extremely overpriced for frozen food that you heat up in a microwave or toaster oven.

Staff was great and the lobby area of this hotel was nice, but the room itself was pretty depressing, dark, and in dire need of updating.
