Best Western Plus Governor's Inn

The staff are very friendly especially the lady that handles the food and the counter staff.

Rooms are large. Everything is old. Bathroom is ancient, there is no bottled water in the rooms or for purchase (there were two vending machines, but both were out of bottled water), and there’s nothing nearby - not a gas station, a convenience store, nothing. Breakfast was very poor and the coffee smelled so bad. And all that for more than $180 per night, which is unacceptable.

Staff was extremely friendly and did what they could to accommodate me once my cable tv went out by changing my room. My cale television and phone service went out in my room. Only the phone issue got resolved and I had to switch rooms and buildings. Also the room was not ready on my arrival.

Receptionist was awesome. she shared the history of the motel and told me about the bricks and stone. even showed me the ball room! I will definitely stay there again. And a real breakfast was an added bonus since I eat high protein and low carbs. Also loved the pool area. Need direction signs pointing to the office at various points from Rt 60. I stopped at each building before I drove all the way to the back and saw the portico.

Excellent room for physically challenged people...especially the walk-in/ride-in shower. There was nothing that I didn't like about the accommodations. However, I could have used a little bit of instruction of the proper way to use the walk-in shower.

We had a problem with our toilet where the tank wouldn't fill up with water. There was some mold on the grout in the bathtub and there were no drain stoppers in either the sink or tub.

Breakfast was included and had waffles, cereal, toast, bagels, fruit various juices and coffee. There was a large parking lot with free parking. Overall this was a very nice place to stay.

Breakfast was good. People slamming doors and children running up and down the hall half a night. Did not have good signs on the main road to guide you to the property. Completely missed the turn off even with GPS. Hygiene products were smelly and cheap!

The free breakfast was delicious, I appreciate the staff person that made sure the breakfast items were sufficient. Our room and bathroom was nice and clean. The reception lady was so nice and smiley. I definitely recommend.

There were stains on the bedsheets, ceiling, and walls—including what appeared to be dried blood or feces in the bathroom. The microwave was dirty inside, and the AC unit—installed inside an old furniture—blew dust and debris onto the floor. The bathroom faucet sprayed water everywhere, and the toilet ran constantly. To make matters worse, on the last day of our stay, when most of the rooms on our floor were vacant, the hotel turned off the hot water, seemingly to save money. When we asked for a solution, we were refused access to shower in any of the many empty rooms in other buildings. The front desk staff member, Channelle, was unprofessional and unhelpful and two-faced, which only added to the negative experience. I didn't use the gym

This is a very old property in desperate need of updating or demolishing! Rooms are in poor condition. It appears a band-aid was used for a few things such as new vinyl flooring. Everything is worn out, from the paint on the walls to the rusted lights on the end tables and the bathroom. We were in desperate need to find a room this weekend and literally this was the only hotel available and I believe I got the last room due to sporting events in the area. The staff was 100% from the people at the desk that couldn’t do enough for us to the kind house keeping staff. They were great!

While the staff was helpful, the property is clearly run down and dated and in need of refurbishing. The sitting chair in my room was so disgustingly stained and dirty it looked like something that’s been sitting on the street for months. I wouldn’t even put my bag on top of it.

The toilet was so low to the ground that it was difficult to use. The TV volume was not adjustable. The breakfast was only good two out of four days. No carpet in the rooms. All of that said, the staff was excellent.

Overall, fine. It’s an older property beyond its time but it was clean and relatively comfortable. A little noisy but overall, a good value.

The stone property, the look of it all, the coffee machine when you came in and the clean smell and cleanliness and the continental breakfast. It needed to be updated as far as paint and broken furniture. We had double queen size bed rooms but the beds seemed to be full size not queen size. For the price we paid it should have been top notch on everything. So that was kind of the only complaints.

The walls and floors are a little thin, so noise can be an issue if you are a light sleeper. The front desk accommodated me and moved me to a room on the opposite side from where a family with a small child was staying, and that helped tremendously. It’s an excellent stay for the price point. Good breakfast each morning and convenient and just off the highway.

Although breakfast was terrible anyway - dry hard sausages, inedible eggs, and old bagels. They also ran out of coffee cups and I had to go to the reception area coffee machine to bring cups myself. We stayed in room 131, that was the 1st room to a door where many guests would leave from. I was woken up at 5a.m. and again at 6 a.m. just don't stay in room 131 and it will be a 5 Star.

First, we were greeted by a super friendly woman at check-in. We stayed in the "Harry Potter" building. It's a really unique hotel in that the walls are stone so it looks older. The room was clean. We had a microwave, mini fridge, and K-cup coffee maker. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The workout room looked nice. The breakfast was good--waffle and pancake maker, a good oatmeal bar, bagels, toast, eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, cereal, grits, fruit, juice, and coffee. The pool wasn't open yet so we didn't get to see it. Not sure but I didn't see a hair dryer in the room so maybe you have to ask for one or bring your own. Internet worked well. Overall a nice stay and just 8-9 minutes from the Richmond Volleyball Center where we were playing a tournament and 2 minutes from 6 free pickleball courts. Lots of places nearby to eat and shop.

My family of four stayed for two nights at the Best Western Plus Governor’s Inn. The Inn reminded us of a mini castle, and our 2 Beds room was big and spacious. The bathroom needs updating, but it served its purpose. The shower head had great water pressure. We were happy with the included breakfast.

The hotel was not up to standard. Need to do better cleaning carpet & bathroom. Also the big thing for me was the distance to River City Sportcomplex. On your website, you mentioned 4.2 miles, it was over 10 miles...make the correction as it was the only reason i booked this place.

A good solid hotel. The room and beds were clean and breakfast included the usual continental fair plus eggs, sausage and waffles. The staff was for sure the best part. The front desk staff member was delightful and incredibly helpful, directing us the best way to the nearby sportsplex to avoid tolls and the attendant working the breakfast area was especially helpful and attentive. Thank you!

Although it was not visible from the road, so a little hard to find, we thought the facility was very good for the price. Very clean and comfortable.

Exceptionally kind and friendly staff. Site has a lot of character and while there were signs of age, it was very clean and comfortable. Additionally, very quiet and well located in relation to all of the places we were visiting on our trip.

At check-in was charged $100 fee for contingencies without any mention of the charge. AFTER I asked for a printed receipt at checkout at that point I was told of the fee and that it would be refunded to my credit card. The check in clerk took my card and ID and was on the computer which was suspicious because the card reader was on the counter.

This was the cleanest motel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was very nice and helpful. I stayed over a weekend and the place was very quiet. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

well it was a pretty good stay i like the comfort and location. breakfast could be better but over all i would stay again.

The overall experience was amazing. I could breathe better than in most hotels that I have stayed in. The staff was very friendly. Being able to have breakfast every morning was nice. Everything was wonderful.

Not marked well, toll road to get there, looks more like an apt complex than a hotel, staff at check in discussed whether the hotel was oversold, took a while to come up with a room in a 2nd bldg, did not seem to be the deluxe room we booked--pretty standard. Lobby is small, breakfast ok. Shower below average. Below average for a Best Western

The facility was beautiful. Since where were several parties in the main building, the staff offered a room in the building behind the main building and it was so quiet.

Staff was fantastic . Good breakfast , very clean . Beautiful lobby . Best . Cappuccino. Machine. Ever ! In the lobby free and available 24/7. Will stay again when in the area

Bathroom was horrible, shower curtain was dirty and bathroom smelled of mildew

We had to pay $100 incidental fee (of which we were unaware) before we even saw the room. Have never had to pay a fee like this upfront except when we’ve travelled with our dog.

Staff is great. I had the room with hardwood (laminate) floors, which made the room feel much bigger and cleaner. The bathroom is a bit dated having a tub instead of a walk in. Staff is very friendly. Both during check in and check out I had a very positive experience with them. Would stay again!

My husband and I found the property visually appealing. Set back off the main road was an excellent choice. The noise level was minimal to the extent of being virtually non-existent. We loved the brickwork, a lot of charm. My husband found the breakfast display outstanding - " the eggs actually tasted like eggs and were not dried out". The reception staff when we arrived and when we left the next morning were very pleasant and efficient.

The hotel desk staff were incredibly helpful and nice. Always greeted you with a smile and made you feel at home . I appreciated their positivity 😊

The area and comfort was excellent. It is always a pleasure to stay with this hotel. The personnel is always polite and friendly and the service is extra special. I will be returning in October.

I was very impressed with how large my room was. The hotel is a little dated, but I enjoyed my stay. Front desk service was awesome. I would stay here again.

Very nice stately looking motel, wonderful helpful staff, loved our room and loved the breakfast (great variety), clean, safe, wonderful place to stay. Would stay there again if visiting Richmond area.

Breakfast was provided, typical food, not horrible and plenty of seating. Overall a nice hotel if on a budget.

Very old timey feel was very clean staff was very friendly and helpful would definitely stay here again highly recommend if your in the Midlothian area pool was nice and clean aswell

The woman working the front desk was so friendly! She engaged in conversation with my young son about his Legos while checking us in quickly. She was so kind! I don’t remember her name, but she was working the evening of 05/29/24.

I mean, it's a Midlo Turnpike hotel so it is what it is, but they made it look a little bit better online than it was.

We stayed 2 nights and were surprised no one emptied the trash, made the bed, etc. Also housekeeping staff was talking to each other loudly in the hall before 9 am.

The hotel was clean, quiet and comfy and the morning hot breakfast was yummy! The kids really liked it as well. It was a perfect for our one-night travel stopover!
