Spark by Hilton Richardson Dallas

Breakfast is very limited and some insects bite me, very annoying.

As a guest, I expect a clean and well-maintained environment, especially from a Hilton-branded property. Unfortunately, the condition of the room did not reflect those expectations and left me questioning the overall housekeeping standards. I have photos documenting these issues. I hope management addresses these concerns so future guests can have a better experience. Based on this stay, I would not choose this location again.

The beds were comfortable and the front desk woman was kind. We were looking for a low cost, no frills place to sleep during our travels, and this hotel checked that box. The hotel was musty. Our AC was set to 69* when we entered, but I can't imagine that the room ever reached below 77* until about 3am. The workout room and breakfast were both sparse. The stairwell (we take stairs where we can instead of elevators) was dirty and it seemed that the hotel was being renovated sporadically.

I had originally booked to stay here. The day of check in I went to check out the hotel. The hotel itself looked like it was not clean the front staff was friendly but terrible management. I did not end up staying here.

In the room we rented we constantly kept seeing bed bugs even with the change of sheets you could tell the room had not been cleaned at all was having to move to a different room

The Nigerian maintenance guy was extremely rude when I was trying to enter my room and asked for space to enter and he wouldn’t move. I told him he was being invasive and he became extremely mouthy and rude - not any way guests should be treated, especially young women traveling alone and wanting space from her room.

Parking was safe and easy pool was dirty full of leaves and trash. The walls had a lot of chipped paint in the room just minor things that you think a Hilton would be able to fix and upkeep.

No frills, but met the basics for the 12 nights I stayed (for conference). Room was clean; air conditioner was occasionally noisy but kept the temp comfortable; room service didn't refill soap/ conditioner, but didn't run out until the day before I left. Bed was firm and comfortable; 48-52" TV. Bagels, cereals, yogurt, apples, muffins, usually "brown" bananas, plus juices, tea, coffee and milk every morning. Small fitness center met the basics. Staff, especially Mahdi (?) was great! Would definitely stay there again

The air freshener is very overwhelming at times. The staff doesn’t always greet/acknowledge you right away. Even just to say just a moment. It’s a little awkward.

Decent rooms for the price. The shower water pressure was awful, the sink felt like it had far greater water pressure. Keep that in mind if you like or need a strong shower.

The major issue I had was that upon checking in I was informed of a "Pet fee" which I know is common at hotels and usually runs about $20-$30 per night. Well, that was not the case at the Hyatt the charge for a single night was $75. No this is not one of the Hyatt's top end hotels and the room itself was $84 per night. So, I could have nearly rented an additional room for my "Pet Fee". The pet fee's should be stated on the Hotels.com website so a traveler can be well informed when selecting a hotel. The breakfast is serial and bagels or toast. Nothing very nutritious.

The room was decent. The shower handle was opposite. So hot is up and cold is down. It was reversed. Staff was cool. Really cool kid when I checked in. Breakfast sucked and parking was cool. The hotel just looks beat down. My room was fairly clean just a bunch of hair all over the place. But as soon as you walk out your room…it’s gross!

Second, I woke up with a weird rash all on my face. Idk what kind of detergent or what they use but that’s never happened before. The hotel isn’t bad per se and didn’t seem dirty or anything. Just a bit older.

We will NEVER stay a Spark again. The property was very outdated. The shower did not have a way to open the sliding door once you were in the shower. The HVAC unit made a awful noise the entire stay. The towels felt like sandpaper. The bed was decent only thing positive I can say about this establishment.

The hotel try so hard to cover the bad smell with deodorizer but it really didn't help. The beds will sqaek really bad when we will sit or lay on lt. I call expedia to report the hotel but also Expedia didn't do much to help me. Never stay here.

The breakfast consisted of only bagels. No toast, no eggs, no bacon, no sausage, no gravy -- just bagels and coffee, boiled eggs, hard apples, and bruised banannas. There was also juice and coffee. Not what I'd call a breakfast.

What made this hotel stand out was the kindness of everyone there.

The bed was super soft and comfy! The staff were very polite. The room was clean, it just needed a little maintenance the towel and toilet paper holders were about to fall off the walls.

Improving communication, maintenance, and responsiveness would make a noticeable difference in the guest experience.

I would be embarrassed to admit I was the manager of this hotel. There were many things that didn't work or were broke. The basic maintenance needed to make a room fully functional wasn't there. Other guest in my party showed me that their room was the same. The breakfast wasn't appealing enough to even try. Management is the problem, not the workers. It is cruel to have the handicap accessible rooms the furthermost from the entrance. Each attempt for the owner to save money degrades the appeal to stay on a property. We have stayed in Spark hotels in other places that weren't this bad.

There was always one person who dealt with the customers. After their shift, this person would be replaced by someone new. All these guys were Indian (from India) students who had no knowledge of the hotel. They couldn't tell if there was a swimming pool, gym, or anything else. Our stay was very poor. I don't recommend this hotel at all.

The first room had a rat. The second room had a Giant Cockroach crawling around the bed. There's a leaking ceiling in the lobby need the breakfast. This hotel still owes me money a week later. Their now ignoring me so I'll contact Hilton directly. Avoid this location at ALL COST. GO TO THE BRAND NEW GARLAND LOCATION OR MEDICAL CITY LOCATION

The house keep is not available, they said it not every other day but it didn’t happens, the breakfast is bad, there is almost nothing, the room was clean when we got it, the property is good but not good services. definitely with the this rate we can get better options. It is I don’t recommend it to anyone.

The staff was friendly at first, but when I reported that my room's toilet stop working the previous night, they were indifferent and just said "Oh". The toilet stopped flushing on the 2nd night stay and had to use trash can to fill with water to flush toilet.

A 5-star experience all around :) I highly recommend the Spark hotel based on the high quality of service, central location, ease of parking, and property’s cleanliness. Shoutout to the entire AMAZING team since I only learned the names of some of the staff (e.g., PJ, Sam, Maddy, Mark, Richard).

We stay here frequently. The location is great for all of our needs in the area. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean, but could use a good deep clean to clean up or make repairs of grout and around fixtures and drains. We are light eaters, so the breakfast area is good and the offerings are just what we need (fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels). The containers with oatmeal toppings looked like they may not always be thrown out and refreshed each day (the sugar container especially). The staff always greets us when we come and go and always offers to help us with anything we need. I'd love to see a filtered water station to refill water bottles like they have at others we have visited. The price is great, the people are nice, and we will continue to stay here.

Great and safe property for the price. It does need attention, with small fixes required throughout, which could add value over time.

ALL staff (especially PJ and Sam at the front desk, alongside Mark, Richard, and Andrea) were so welcoming. The hotel has a very safe and central location. (It’s only a a 5-min drive/15 min walk to Canyon Creek Village for dining and self-care.) It is super clean with a modern feel; there is no carpeting is in the rooms, which enhances cleanliness. It felt like a home away from home, and this made it hard to leave! Many blessings to this team :)

We had to have our room changed four times before we found one that was acceptable. Two were not even cleaned and one had a broken HVAC system that was so loud. It woke us up in the middle night. We experienced a power failure and went without Wi-Fi or TV for over 24 hours without any offer of compensation. Hallways smelled musty. We ate out for breakfast (their continental breakfast was not very inviting). Don't think I'll be staying here again.

What’s terrible is the hallways smells and old. Navigating through to get to your room was bad. The walls are so thin you can hear everyone outside the door. If there’s a family next to you all you hear are the kids and the family. There was zero breakfast when you go to eat in the lobby. Will not recommend.

We only stayed one night. Everything was pretty good. I just expected the room to be bigger was super small and breakfast could have been better. They orange juice and apple juice wasn’t working all they had was milk and coffee cereal bagels muffins and boiled eggs. Was at least expecting a waffle maker or something. Booked the room for 3 people and they only put 2 towels in there and when I asked for a few more towels they asked me to bring the dirty towels in exchange for the new clean towels. Front desk was pretty nice they were okay. Had issues with checking in though they tried to tell me they couldn’t take cash deposit if only staying one night but I said that’s what I got called manager and said I could give cash deposit.

Water pressure was very low. Cleaning service is every other day but you must request it before 11 am with the front desk. Breakfast selection is like a college grab & go with no hot options. The juice was watered down and the fruit was not always fresh. Parking was safe and well lit at night.

The hotel smelled bad. The 24/7 coffee was cold, the shower didnt get hot and was hard to turn on, couldn't understand the lady that checked me in. The TV turned off every 10 minutes - this also happened last time we stayed at this particular SPARK. We will no longer be staying at this hotel, and we have stayed here several times.

Had to walk three times to get keys to work. Towels were dirty. Leaky noisy toilet, towel bar fell off. Horrible half fast paint job on doors. Worn down feel. Staff was unsupportive and did not care much to make things better.

the brand even faster than Hilton already is by opening franchised discount chains like these. I will be much more careful about which Hilton hotels I book In the future. Hilton obviously no longer means Hilton. Although I was able to call them and avoid the $75 extra charge at check in, they still charged me the $75 when they stole it from the $100 deposit they failed to properly refund at check out. When I called to inquire the manager with an accent so think it was hard to understand claimed he did not know how to work the system and was unable to initiate the refund. So, now i get to file a $75 lawsuit in small claims court in Richardson,Texas. How is that for hospitality?

The hotel room was very spotless and very comfortable to sleep in.

I arrived at night and went to do my laundry. The receptionist sold me detergent but failed to inform me that the dryer was not working. I only found out after washing my clothes. As a result, I had to carry wet clothes to a nearby laundromat. I did not receive a refund for the detergent or for the dryer, even though it was unusable, simply because I paid by card. The experience was extremely inconvenient and disappointing.

The staff was very friendly, especially the front desk staff member, Ms. Madhu. Overall, the stay was good, but the breakfast standards need improvement.

The room was clean. I thought it was a queen bed but it was a double bed. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I didn’t have room in my room, maintenance came within five minutes and I was in another room right away. The breakfast could’ve been better, it was simple, (bagel, cereal, boiled eggs, instant oatmeal and old expired fruit. I was at least expecting waffles with breakfast meats or scrambled eggs but there was no hot meal. The coffee tasted old no matter how much sweetener you add to it. Other than that, the stay was ok. I’d stay again if the breakfast options get better.. and shoutout to maintenance and the night front desk lady, yall did a great job accommodating me

When I arrived the staff was nice and polite but when i got in my room there was bugs in the window I called frontdesk they did put me into another room but that room also had bugs and the soap dispenser was on the floor. Also, I left my room to get food and I returned and my key card did not work the house keeper had to let me in my room I called downstairs a few times to address the issue no response so since I was leaving the next day I let it go.

The room was good easy access to the elevator which was good. Free breakfast ok was just expecting something different. The fitness center was looking forward to a bit more. Having to call in to get room service was a first. Overall was good hotel.

I had to be moved twice when I checked in. The first door didn't lock and the second room was filthy. The management was really good about it so I let it go...even extended my stay when I secured more business in town. However, on my final night I saw a bed bug in my bed and ended up leaving at 2am having to drive 5 hours home.

I had an ok stay at spark by Hilton in Richardson. Everything smelled nice and the staff was very accommodating. The only problem I really had was with the bathroom. The bathroom was clean but it had some rust on the shower wall and needed new grout on the edges of the shower. The outlets in the bathroom also did not work to blow dry my hair. Aside from those issues, my stay was fine.

Hallway was musty at check in and full of ppot smoke at check out a wall hanging came off the wall and fell onto the bed ROACHES the TP holder was broken the shower had a flimsy bench for "mobility" transfers it looked like it wouldn't have held 10 year old sitting on it. TV kept powering off and loosing its settings

The room was clean. It felt humid. We had to put the air very cold for not to feel it. The bathroom was small. I like the room didn’t have carpet. The service staff was friendly but there was not enough people I guess. The same guy at the front desk was taking care of breakfast area. The trash cans in the entrance were always full. Breakfast was rather disappointing not having variety nor enough protein options.

Everything has been pretty good. Clean, friendly staff, less of a feel of an extended stay and more like a hotel (which I like). Some cons are hearing loud door slams, my A/C is loud, coffee can run out and you have to wait for it to be replaced. Nothing major and I would recommend and stay here again if needed.

Check-in was slow. From waiting for my turn to being fully checked in it took about 25 minutes. The towels in the bedroom had hair on them, and the response of staff took a while. Definitely a lot of potential, but for the days I stayed it could have been better.

I was not expecting that they do not serve hot meals for breakfast. The muffins that they serve are also underbaked. At night, the wifi signal goes off and sometimes continue until in the morning so there is no internet connection and cannot watch TV either. There was one time that one of the elevator was not working because there is just a little mess inside which takes time to be cleaned up by the staff. It was only 3 pieces of muffins and some water spill which can be easily sweeped off but took longer than expected to be wiped out.

This hotel has been removed from our options. Checked out the first day.

So much better than those rugs that hotels usually use. Only thing would make it a 5 star in my opinion , if they took out those ugly rugs in the hall ways. . They bring the hotel down. The hotel was recently renovated and is bright and clean. The staff, while mostly friendly, is rather indifferent to cleanliness In public areas. Trash bins are full or overflowing. Guests leave trash on the table by the elevator and it sits there all night. The breakfast area can be downright disgusting, with the front desk clerk 20 feet away in full view of the overflowing trash bins. Coffee available 24 hrs, but creamer was empty for more than 24 hrs, two ice machines were out of order. Upon check-in, we were assured we would get stayover service on the second day. We did not, and the evening clerk was argumentative, insisting that we were wrong because it is not offered on Saturdays (the sign at the desk says differently, as dld our clerk at check-in). After all that pushback, he didn't even offer us fresh towels. When i asked for them, he made it clear it was am imposition because he was there to check-in new guests. The property is very nice for now, but with this level of indifference among multiple front office employees, i expect it to decline.

I stayed here for 4 nights. In those 4 days they didn’t house keep. One of the towels had a hole. The remote control for the television didn’t work. There was trash piling up by the elevator. There was no bath tub in the room.

Its a very accomodating hotel, they also provided us access to their meeting room as we stayed their in group for our business purpose.

We came in from atlanta at 730am. We had a rough start to our day. The airlines sent our luggage to florida and there was nothing we could do. We then arrived to the rental center and they messed up our reservation. We didn't get the car we paid for. We spent an additional 5 hours at the airport. Our children were exhausted because we were up since 3am. I called Spark hotel and asked for an early checkin. They wasted no time in telling me yes. This was the best news we had received all day. We were able to checkin as early as 1230 at no additional cost thanks to management. We were so thankful for them. The hotel was more than amazing. The beds were very comfortable. The bath products were amazing and smelled so good. We will definitely book with them again. The raddison hotel use to be our family main hotel but I am thankful we found Spark. From now on they will always be our preference when visting Texas

I showed up and the king bed I had booked wasn’t available due to a water pipe bursting in the building. They refused to refund my stay so I could find alternative accommodations. They put me in another room, which was horrible. The main light didn’t work. There were hooks missing from the wall. In the bathroom a fixture was just laying around. The shower was disgusting. And the place overall was run down. But the worst part were the paper thin walls with people speaking loudly in the next room (after 11p). The hallway was noisy too, and at least once people pounded on the door. I didn’t feel safe, so I paid for another room at a different hotel.

My fresh clean towel had long black curly hair in one of them. As well as on bathroom floor and in the sheets. The ac unit was set to 68° but it was very warm in the room all night. Made it hard to sleep. At midnight, they apparently disable the WiFi bcz all the TV stations went to CHANNEL OFF AIR. So I could not watch out listen to TV while trying to finish up my reports for work. Also it disconnect from my laptop causing the past 3hrs of work I did was lost bc it lost internet connection. If they are going to disable internet at certain times they should make the guest aware. Also hard to sleep bc y there was an annoying buzzing and ringing noise that sounded like it was coming from in the hotel like from some type of machinery or tool. Lasted from I know midnight to 2am. Could have been harming but midnight but I didn’t realize it bc tv was working before midnight. I replied back to the Spark text informing them of issues and never heard anything back from anyone. The breakfast is not even worth messing with. The pictures online def do not resemble the actual cleanliness and integrity of building…it’s very dirty and dingy. The guy who checked me in was very nice though. The girl in the morning checking me out was nice to me but not others and not didn’t even attempt to assist a man with language barrier. Honestly shocked by amount of positive reviews bcz it’s dirty dingy gross.

I greatly enjoyed my time staying at Hilton spark. I stayed there for about a month because it was close to work. The breakfast in the morning was a great way to start the day. The rooms were very spacious and always cleaned and the staff was polite and friendly. They even allowed me to check in early when my flight came in earlier than expected. I would highly recommend 10 out of 10.

Upon arriving the cable went out so there was no tv for over an hour. Toilets didn’t flush very well everything kept coming back and towels had stains. Shower was okay but could use a little extra scrubbing. Ac was mediocre. Even on 69 it felt stuffy. Not a terrible stay but have definitely had better experiences.

A warm and courteous reception goes a long way in making guests feel valued, especially those who return regularly. Room Essentials: A basic necessity like a trash can was missing from my room. Despite informing the front desk, it was not provided during my stay. This impacted the overall convenience and cleanliness. Breakfast Menu Changes: I’ve mentioned this in a previous visit as well, but with the recent management change, the breakfast menu has been altered. The earlier menu offered a variety of options that suited everyone in the family. The current selection feels limited and less inclusive. I’m sharing this feedback with the hope that it helps improve the guest experience. I look forward to seeing these areas addressed in future stays

I like this place as the prices are cheaper and i travel for work so it works for me. initially their breakfast was simple but now they added a lot of things to their menu.

First room had broken AC. Nothing worth eating at the breakfast. Front desk didn’t pick up the phone.

The rooms in this hotel are dated although the lobby is nicely done. The breakfast was a disappointment in terms of the food offerings. I would not stay again. Further the AC units are very loud. I had to turn the unit off to get some rest.

Most helpful frontdesk. They helped me with the booking even though my flight got delayed and i arrived next day they tried to accomodate me very well. Frontdesk siddhi is super sweet and helpful.

Card was never activated so couldn’t enter the room and hand to go up and down. Room was not good. Ac was not working and water was leaking. Was moved to another room. Front desk not good in understanding simple English. Rooms were ok. Continental breakfast was a joke. If you call bagel and cereal continental breakfast then I must have stayed in wrong hotels before. I wish I would have booked the hotel I stayed in before instead of this one

The room was clean. It is an older hotel they have done soft good updates on. The hallways are dark and could use some TLC. Very low ceilings in the bathroom. Our room was missing the smoke detector and just had wires coming out of ceiling. Maintenance did come put one in while we were there. I probably would not stay here again.
