It’s pretty much certified as a drug den, people everywhere on something. Upon checking in, the two ladies were so rude to me. The second I turned around to leave there were 5 cop cars in the parking lot trying to deal with some addicts freaking out. I got in my car immediately. I slept in my car because that was just way too much OH AND THIS WAS IN A SPAN OF 15 MINUTES

The room did look like the photos online, however, the rooms are very dated and the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned since they were installed. The tub and sink had scratches and burn marks where it was hard to tell if they were cleaned or just old. The towels were stain free and sanitized. Our tv was not plugged in and when we located the cords, it looked like there was 20 years worth of dust on the wiring. The bed was clean and comfortable. The location was conveniently located in the middle of the key sights and an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Unfortunately, that also meant that we could hear cars racing up the street until 4am Sunday morning.

Nothing because I wasn't able to stay in my room that I paid for I didn't like that the booking.com said there was no deposit and accepted my payment for the room and when I came to check in they told me I needed a deposit which I was able to afford and said that they wouldn't refund me . I really needed the room for the night and I am still working on getting my 90$ back

Also the elevator sound like it was ready break down also after 12:00am noise from other rooms. Coffee microwave fridge. Soap shampoo.

When we got there it took an hour to get to the front desk to get checked. The lady helping us out did not great us just took May ID and Credit card. Did not say anything about the wait.Bedroom door did not work properly and was hard to open. The property said that the was complementary breakfast and all it was is granola bars and stuff like that and juice, coffee. The property was ok nothing special and rooms were ok. I personally would not stay here again .

Television had good selections available, set up with the different streaming channels that provide sufficient content. Noises between rooms was minimal. AC worked well. (too good actually). Clean room, good bedding. Hot (very hot) and cold running water. Microwave, refrigerator, and complimentary coffee available. Plenty of dressers and drawers to stow stuff The noise outside was incredibly loud even until 2 AM. Could not sleep due to gunshots, sirens, people screeching tires, and people being obnoxiously loud just to be loud. Poor location due to the behavior of the community surrounding the hotel. Vending machine for drinks was broken. Breakfast was just a poor selection of meal bars. Really, not a breakfast at all, just complimentary snacks. Bathroom had no lock and would not close. Black mold in the bathroom, room had a bad smell, look like a cheap remodel, mirror light didnt work, TV remote wouldn't turn on or off the TV. Complimentary Breakfast was just some granola bars, thats not Breakfast. Loose screws on fixtures.

Took over an hour to check in 3 people ahead. Tried calling the property to extend reservation, told they were having phone problems but nobody followed up. Told deposit would be available immediately at check out then at check out, told 3-5 business days. The gal checking out was way more helpful than checkin in

You get what you pay for, convenient location. If you arrive late, there's no parking left. The building is exposed in the center, extremely loud. It sounded like the third circle of hell! Bring your earplugs.

Very convenient location in downtown Reno. It was walking distance to everything I needed. The staff were very helpful. The telephones in the room do not work. I was only trying to use the phone to call the front desk to get the wifi password which was not given at check-in. Clean and soundproof facility.

A decent room for a decent price. This property is actually 2 hotels in one U-shaped building (Howard Johnson and Travelodge) and they share a parking lot. The room was clean and had a lightly mod aesthetic. The shower had good water pressure and temperature. The free breakfast in the front office wasn't a huge spread but hey, it's free!

Parking was an absolute nightmare, and most of the staff either didn't care about any concerns we had or were under the influence of drugs or some other substance. The room had damages upon arrival and when notified they brushed it off and said "oh we know we wont hold it against you" Provided TP had chemical stains on it as well! I would NOT recommend ANYONE stay in this establishment.

The room toilet was keeping on overflowing and had nasty toilet paper in the tank, paint drips all over the shower area. Rips in comforter. They told me I can have a late check out, and they went back on there word and was very rude about it. So not impress.

Would never book or stay with this company again. I escalated my experience to the franchise and they too had issues contacting and communicating with this property.

Didn’t use air conditioner, parking was limited and one night had to park next block in a parking garage. Room was pretty clean just a few things that needed to be better. Outside door was messed up, did shut but would stick when opening cause it was falling apart in the lock and opening area. Mimi fridge could be used but would freeze everything and had a lot of frost and ice build up on freezer part. I’ve seen worse rooms but I’ve also had tons better.

Almost was killed by someone doing construction right outside the door of their office, room was being worked on still (smelled of lacquer, lock did not work properly and was not fully installed the guy was still in it when I showed up) and their shower had no warm water

I’ve stayed in a lot of budget priced hotel rooms and this one ranks in my top five worst experiences. Would not recommend

The breakfast was a 100 calorie cereal bar in a basket! That’s it! They were expired!!!! The room was filthy and we felt very unsafe!! The broken lock latch and the dirty floors were disgustingly nasty! The entire room smelled like cigarettes.

Definitely not a place I would stay for more than a quick day or 2. Everything works and despite the floors being gross in the room it was great for the price. They take a $100 deposit and it takes a while to get it back (i was fully charged and haven't gotten it back yet.). Very loud and smokey.

NA The location was hard to find. The office for Howard Johnson was with Travel Lodge. No continental breakfast as what the website said. Parking was terrible. Elevator that was on Howard Johnson side squeaked. Door to room does not seal out the cold air. You hear every little thing outside the room.

The first room was a wreck, wires everywhere, not enough outlets for even the tv the tv box and the nearby lamp to be plugged in at the same time, down right filthy, stinky, small roaches hanging out under the fridge that didn't even work next to the microwave all on the vanity counter leaving no space space for anything else there. Sheets were dirty, floor was sticky, heater was either on full tilt or off the auto function did not work, no laptop counter as shown in the pictures. Switched to a new room which was reasonably well kept and reasonably updated, nicer desk, decent spot for a laptop but no chair have to sit on the edge of the bed to use lol. Saw only one small roach in that room. The rooms are not big and howard johnson is in the same facility, rooms and office, as the travel lodge. I am wondering if the extra couple of bucks for travel lodge room would have been better spent but i feel thats unlikely. Night 2 i heard what sounded, in my opinion, like a man yelling at the top of his lungs followed by what sounded like, in my opinion, gunshots probably around 10-15 of them all randomly spaced over a 30 minute period, one here, two or three there, couple more then that sound of a grown man yelling. No sirens ever followed.was some overly drunk man popping shots off in the street or a homeless man hit pole with somethi? 30 minute after that experience i heard what sounded like a grown man screaming in agony around 4 times as if he were seriously injured or something.

We booked this hotel based on the offered breakfast, there was nothing but coffee and a protein bar as a breakfast option. There was no fruit, no danishes, no beagles, and no waffles. We have been to many hotels where this is the minimum breakfast offered in this case we feel like it was bad advertising.

The first room had no hot water in the bath rub. I was provided a 2nd room. For two nights the queen bed was a total of $169.00 but i was charged $259.00. This is $90.00 dollars extra. It would be be a lot better to have a casino room on the bottom floor for guest to play and the rooms could be a little bigger for walkers or wheel chair access. However, the room itself was appaling. I encountered three roaches within an hour of being there The flooring was warped and cracked, creating a tripping hazard The door handle mechanism was broken, allowing access to the wiring from the outside, and the battery pack was exposed inside The towels had brown stains on them The showerhead was not sealed properly and gushed water from the connecting joint One of the desk lamps did not have a bulb The caulking around the tub was brown and peeling The seal of the shower surround was discolored and warped, with pieces of wall texture flaking off The tub had no drain cover, and the drain itself was rusted The entire room reeked of some kind of chemical fire It truly felt like i was mistakenly given a room that was recently a crime scene and hadn't been repaired yet.

Room has bugs in it, door has a giant gap on top so AC worked on and off all the time and very noisy. Door transition was not smooth and cart wouldn't come over it. Breakfast is a JOKE!!!! Only bagged pastries and coffee, no juice in the machine, not anything close to a breakfast!!!! It was a Motorcycle weekend and the road noise was too much, we left after the first night and this facility would not give a refund for the other two nights I had paid for. This PLACE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

First night was okay until we found multiple cockroach by the bed the sink tv and restroom. Right away we check out the staff was understandable probably wasnt the first time that has happen definitely were not staving here again

The employee that was working the night I checked in was so rude and unprofessional. There was no greeting he barely spoke to me and when he did he was mumbling and I couldn’t understand him. He was not helpful regarding parking either. The hotel is in a terrible area and I felt super unsafe leaving my car far away so I ended up just leaving. And they won’t give me a refund.

A lot of cucarachas and smelling bad

The room itself was fine. It was clean, had good cold AC, a decent shower and clean sheets. I’m paranoid about hotel bedbugs, so I thouroughly checked the bed and bed sheets. They use bedbug repellent mattress covers, which was good. The downside is the area/location. It’s across from Circus Circus and in the filthiest, most rundown part of the Reno casino strip. When we checked in, there were 3-4 guys just sitting in front of the building, loitering around, smoking (what smelled like marijuana), drinking cans of beer, one shirtless guy screaming at the sky. If I hadn’t prepaid for the stay, I would’ve left immediately. The outdoor stairwell had cigarette butts on the stairs, discarded beers cans and who knows what else. The nighttime is the worst. Random (or maybe the same) cars rev and peel out at the front of the building every 15 minutes. It’s so loud and disturbing and goes on until 2:00-3:00am. Cars will also blast music all throughout the night. Of course, there is no law enforcement presence at all, so all the antics just go on all night. I’ve never reviewed a hotel with 1-2 stars before, but I’ve also never stayed in a hotel that made me feel so uncomfortable and uneasy with the surroundings. I wouldn’t recommend this place. And, if you have young children, I would definitely suggest looking somewhere else.

Check in was chaotic. After we finally got into our room we settle in and shower, only to find ROACHES coming out and running around. One even fell on my boyfriend’s head when he went to open the bathroom door. He went down to the front desk to let them know how disgusting the room was and they denied knowing anything about the infestation. She told us we should’ve came down sooner since it had been a couple hours since we had checked in but we went as soon as the bugs came out. There was no resolution and rooms were either sold out everywhere else or way too expensive for our price range since a lot of festival people were staying in town that weekend.

The night life was a little noisy.

The room was clean, comfortable, and nice. The area felt fairly unsafe, people were hanging outside their doors very late into the night partying and being very loud.

Didn’t stay very long, the room was run down and had roaches in bathroom - so gross. Will never stay here again, so disappointed.

I am not sure how to rate this property, lots of strange people in parking lot. After dealing with the such a wonderful friendly (not) desk clerk that seemed to hate her job. The first glance of room wasn’t bad, seemed clean, smelled cleaned so we went to casinos for dinner, came back and the roaches were climbing down the walls. As we checked out in am the desk clerk much friendlier asked if we wanted their grab and go which consisted of a granola bar. But they did have coffee no creamer only black. Would not be my choice of hotels even in Reno.

Very run down, walls were filthy. Broken tiles in the bathroom very limited parking space. Floors were sticky. We checked out a night early and booked another hotel for the remainder of our stay.

The room was fine, the location was very loud. It was hard to sleep even with earplugs in because of so much street noise.

The property was not in good shape . Our room was dirty and smelled like cigarettes. Paint was peeling in the bathroom, the lamp shade was filled with stains. The entry door the keep pad was broken on inside off door along with door frame. It looked like someone kicked the door in and it was never fixed. The room had two beds and one bed was pushed up against the heater which is a fire hazard. We went to the front desk to ask for my money back I was not going to stay in a room that was 180 per night plus 100 dollar deposit. The manager of the hotel was rude at first she was not going to refund me . We had to point out all the damage in the room and the fire hazard regarding the bed being pushed up the heater. She mentioned that all the rooms were the same with the beds against the heater/ac unit. End result she agreed to cancelled my two night stay with a full refund of $460. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

We chose this property over others for the free breakfast. This turned out to be a granola bar or little bites mini muffin in a tiny bag. Night staff was helpful and friendly. Morning not so much. Property is let's say, gritty. Unhappy customer kicked in the glass office door the same night.

Weird place. Nothing bad tough. Cramped room. Tight parking. Wrapped muffins in the lobby in the mornings. The street was noisy at all hours. Astroturf on the balconies-ugly...

Free breakfast is just energy bars, and coffee. Not worth the cost for a daily stay

This is a Wyndham property and they closed down the Howard Johnson side! There are two sides to the property, and Howard Johnson was on one side, and Travelodge was on the other. Travelodge took it over not good at all! A very rundown property, pictures were incorrect, didn’t accommodate us, not enough ADA parking, uncomfortable, cramped, bad breakfast, even for a ‘to go’! Was very disappointed since I knew what Howard Johnsons used to be like! In fact, it wasn’t Howard Johnson at all!

Room was nice and had been updated. Outside appearance of building was not updated and was actually kinda scary. Not a very safe neighborhood. Breakfast was a joke. Pick a cold danish and go. Since it was a Wyndham Howard Johnson I expected much better. The room was clean though.

The property is close in proximity to restaurants, and transportation.

Staff is rude and horrible

Poor security broken doors, was refused a receipt! We checked in on July 16th at 4pm and spent the next 2-3 hours asking hotels.com for help getting a refund and new accommodations, we checked out at 8pm on the same day and was refused a receipt at check out. Come to find out the lady never checked us out, luckily I called the morning of the 17th to make sure we were checked out!

Office staff was not available for check out at 6:15 am. Office locked.

We did not have a great stay at this place. We booked one night and needed to book a second and had a bad experience both nights. Cops were there on site both times we checked in for problems with guests who were staying. The first night we had some random guy banging on our door at midnight trying to get in our room. The area was very loud, cars beeping in the parking lot being towed, cops there frequently, kids running outside at 1am, etc. The second night we had someone try to get into our room again because they were given our room at 10pm after we were already asleep. Then the office came saying they had no record of anyone being in that room so we had to give them our information that we had already checked in. Our kids got scared both nights because of people trying to get into our room. There were homeless people and people doing drugs in the parking lot. Rooms were extremely dirty, windows were not safe, the door frame and lock had been busted off our second room and poorly fixed to wear the door didn’t close all the way. We had a terrible experience and do not recommend this place.

I liked the staff when checking in, he was very nice and polite. I don't like that there was no breakfast not even a pastry. The whole building outside need renovation or at least to be cleaned, new carpets, and update TV and cable.

No power for 5 hours, no AC the whole time, TV was broken and the hotel was dirty.

The first room the bolt wouldn’t work on the door. The second room smelled awful. The third room was adequate until morning when there was a small roach on the bathtub. I left without showering. Breakfast was simply sweet rolls that are prepackaged and not very appetizing. I’m returning to Best Western where there are no roaches and great breakfasts.

The room door was missing the back panel for the battery housing, the bathroom door wouldnt turn or lock and there was hair in the tub. The power also went out the second night and we were the only place that jad no power

Stunk BAD like cigarettes. Dirt, hair, dust, blood, unknown brown stuff on floors, walls, doors. Bugs everywhere. Huge gap under the door. Men standing outside rooms drinking beer and people watching at all hours. Car alarms often. Only about 10 TV channels worked. The "breakfast" was granola bars, a few other packaged goods, and the worst mud (coffee) I've ever tasted. The front desk woman was nice.

Truly a dive. If you are ok with that, you’ll be fine. We saw a couple suspicious bugs, but couldn’t quite identify them. They looked to us like baby cockroaches, but not sure. A/C was completely ineffective. Other residents had concerning behavior. One man outside our door was talking loudly to himself and moving erratically. Law enforcement was on the premises right after we arrived. Shower water was impossible to adjust to anything other than freezing or scalding. We ended up leaving due to feeling unsafe from other residents/passersby, and because of the bugs.

The place is strange. Half Travelodge half Howard Johnson And is pretty decrepit looking. The room itself was nice inside and the bed was comfortable though.

I booked and paid for room with expedia .when I got to the room they told me i needed to pay $100 more for deposit . I did not have it so i was not able to stay .i cslled customer service 16times and explained ehat happened and everytime i finished my story yhey hungup kn me .i did not get refunded they never told yhat i need ed a deposit .i am very unhappy about it i ewas forded to sleep on the dtreet in s very bad part of town .

I've never stayed at Howard Johnson before but this was definitely not one of the best rooms I've stayed in. The Tv did not work and when we called the front desk there was no one available to come fix it. The bathroom door did not close. We had 2 rooms and both rooms had the same issue. We found bugs in the shower on two separate occasions. It overall was a disappointing experience.

Sticky floor, gap in door and door frame allowing light and sound. I shoved a towel between in the gap. The door did not feel secure, leaving little sense of security. The drag racing loud cars and bikes make it impossible for a solid nights rest. I will not recommend.

This was terrible. I purposely booked a Howard Johnson by Wyndham resort instead of a Travelodge because I wanted better accommodations. When I got there, I found out thatThe two hotels are the same. There is no difference between the rooms. Upon trying to close my door to the room, I could stick my pinky finger in between the entire gap between the door and the jam where the deadbolt was supposed to go all the way from floor to ceiling. There was also a large gap at the top of the door and the bottom. There was nothing that was sealed there. The room was dirty, worn out, and it was impossible to tell if the tub was dirty or just used beyond it’s natural life.
