Econo Lodge new Reno - Sparks Convention Center

There were at least three homeless people around the property. One sitting on the stairs like he was drugged out. The people going in and out of the lobby all look drugged out or ragged. There were five guys standing in front of my room and I was scared they were going to push me in my room when I opened the door. The sink was leaky and the floors squeaked. Only got two towels. The AC barely worked. There were visible holes and damage to the furniture. I didn’t bother taking a shower, will wait for the next hotel. Debated on leaving and sleeping elsewhere. Pool wasn’t available and I intentionally booked bc it had a pool. Even if it worked, I would be worried to go in. Photos do not look like the hotel. Pay the extra $10 or so and stay at a casino. Feel safe for yourself and your car. I was worried all night my car would get broken into. Pros: They had a coffee machine in the room : )

Cigarettes smell in rooms

The room was clean, staff friendly and helpful. The hallway smelled like weed that could get into our room. The pool & spa were covered, it was 85 that day. The rooms a/c didn't work and I didn't hear another one running. Was awoken at 4am. some a-hole talking loud outside the room. Overall a great place.

The staff was polite. The Wifi did not work. The wifi for the office did work but no correction nor alternative was provided. The floor of my room #333 was dirty / dusty. The back door to my room would not open as it did for others. The room was too warm & the HVAC unit difficult to adjust. The ice tray in the freezer was so frozen over that the door would not shut. I paid for 2 nights but could only stay 1.

Locks didn’t work. A/c didn’t work. Moldy bathroom. Tv didn’t work. Outside hallway door was locked and key card didn’t work to open it, we were locked in or out of our room for hours and the front desk didn’t care. Called Choice hotels to get out.

It has walking distance to shop around Main concern is that the guest who are staying here don’t have no respect or consideration on people who want to sleep at night and are constantly slamming the doors

However, the pool area locked & pool covered. We would definitely stay there again.

Literally the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in when I checked in there was water on my floor. The pony wall between the bathroom and the room was filthy on top. The bathroom counter had black stuff all over it. The furniture was covered with random paint everywhere. The tops of the cabinet under the TV was burned. And peeling all over the place. The night stands too. When I complain to the front desk about how dirty the room was, they said they would have somebody come and clean it and instead of actually cleaning the pony wall they just stuck a box of Kleenex over the top. My shower curtain was ripped. Which wouldn’t stay in place when I took a shower, causing water to get all over the floor. I complained about the shower curtain three days in a row, and they kept telling me they would fix it and never did. I actually left a day early. I just couldn’t take it anymore and their lack of caring about how a customer is treated. The hotel is very old and in desperate need of renovation. The pools are closed. The Jacuzzi is closed. The coffee in the morning is terrible with little options for sweetening it.

The broad on the floor were loose and uneven. Tripped on it a couple of times. The USB port on the desk was broken. The air conditioner in the room was not functioning. Mattress was so thin I can feel the springs in it. The bed creaked every time I move. I can hear the TV from the room across the hall. There were only one set of towels in the room. Each room has it own balcony which is nice.

Its not in a good area there are a lot of junkies roaming around it did not felt safe and i kept getting locked outside my room. the keycard kept on expiring for some reason

The air conditioning was not working, the room smelling very bad. Animals inside hallway and rooms. Smoke etc. the price is expensive for the room condition. I payed for stay 3 days . I couldn’t stay the 3 days I left the hotel on the second day. I deserve to get a refund for one night at least.

Property is dirty with little sign of upkeep. Room floor was dirty, TV remote didnt work, smell of weed was coming through bathroom vent, one of the beds was very squeaky, housekeeping didn't come in once during 3 night stay. Some of the listed amenities (blow dryer, pool, etc.) are not available.

The photos shown for this address is definitely not this Econo Lodge. A/C didn't work. Patio was a mess. Room was iffy. The bed was like sleeping on a warped plank. Not worth the money for one night on Memorial Day weekend. Should have slept in my car. If you can, spend the extra and go somewhere else.

Not too far from the airport. Comfortable bed and pillows. Floor was uneven, there was a random puddle of water on the floor by the sink, the shower head was so low I had to do a backbend to wash my hair, lighting wasn’t good and there were very few outlets.

Parking is horrible in the back, no feedback regarding our unused time (we left early, but not because of the motel), 90* outside and pool wasn’t open. It sufficed and was clean.

The phone was broken, they replaced the next day, internet wasn't working, coffee maker didn't work, it was very dusty and affected bothinr and my grandsons allergies. More deep cleaning is necessary.

The maids were loud in the mornings but polite when you talked to them.

no breakfast Grungy below ground entrance where homeless people left their fast food trash and leftovers. Peeling contact paper countertop. Dresser drawers would not stay closed so were taped closed. TV very fuzzy, static only. Wi-Fi showed an error code, warning me that the connection was not private, and my security is compromised. Prison cot quality mattress.

Okay place to stay. Good if you are on a budget. Do not expect anything of note.

The name of the hotel tells its own; there is no iron, no iron table, no hair dry, no microwave in Tye room, tiny size of shampoo, and the coffee in the room doesn’t have any taste.

Staff was freindly. Facility was dilapidated. Good for very practical purpose but definitely not a vacation spot.

The hotel is in bad condition. The rooms smell like smoke. The smoke detector was missing in one room and there were burn marks everywhere.Had to purchase products to clean the bathroom. There were smears on the wall. The other room the ac was not in order and they were aware is did not work before renting the room. Upper management refused to even acknowledge the problem. Will never return.

The worst experience ever!!!! Will never stay here again. In fact we had to check out of the room early and lose our money because we can’t even sleep at all. There’s some kind of violence going on next door and the people were screaming and yelling and slamming door until 5:30am. You can hear the phone ring in the next room and the whole conversation. When we opened the patio door and there are homeless people walking around. It’s kind of scary to stay there. Stay away.

The property was better than I expected for the price. However, the building I was in was quite noisy at night.

Staff is smoky there doing a job. Not welcoming or friendly. Probably under paid because ownership and management only know how to keep the lights on by saving money.

Dirty rooms

The 4 people in a room across the courtyard that got into an argument that turned into a fist fight, knocking to the ground, kicking in the face, beating with a club until one of them pulled a knife. After witnessing this we were concerned for out safety and we checked out and went to another hotel. We are currently trying to get a refund.

I reserved a kind size bed and the clerk lied said I booked a single bed and they “upgraded” me to two double beds…why would my husband and I want two beds, we booked a king for a reason. The room was nasty the blanket had cigarette burns in it and smelled like cigarettes. I couldn’t go out side by myself because of the amount of homeless people hanging out and hiding by the vehicles. We were trying to watch tv and heard a loud rucous outside and it turned out to be another homeless person pushing a huge cart right in the walk way. There was fighting outside and underage kids partying and getting drunk right out side of their room. I will never stay there again!!

While faux hardwood floors have replaced the carpeting that was probably laid down originally, the countertop for the sink looks like something from the 1960s... old, damaged and disgusting to look at. 2. The door and door frame to my room have drill holes in them -- poorly patched and not repainted. 3. The heater in my room is old and makes a low-grumbling rumble sound that's annoying. 4. When I came up the stairs to my section of the hotel (rooms in the 500 range), I noticed some tubing for the electrical system that extend out over the steps. That represents a tripping hazard for guests -- that's a lawsuit waiting to happen and should never have been installed like that. The nice young guy that checked me is a Sikh. I suspect that his family probably owns the place. If that's true, I suspect that they are all from India and like other Indians i've worked with, they do things to the standards of India -- not the United States. That doesn't work here. Americans expect better. And naming the "new Reno-Sparks Convention Center" is so misleading it also opens the ownership up to a lawsuit for false advertising. It's not a terrible place, but I would NOT stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend it.

Heater/ ac units in 3 different rooms in last 3 stays didn't work, towels wer the kind used in jr high schools. On 1 stay there wer 2 tweezers at the back door. The beds need warmer blankets

We checked in around 10:30/11 PM. The guy working the front desk was pretty rude. I asked him a couple questions and it seemed like me asking anything was a huge burden. He was not helpful with giving information on how to get to our room. Then he just wa not listening. I told him I would be paying for the room and deposit in cash. He still tried to run my card. Thankfully I had my card locked. Otherwise it could have been a bigger mess. However when we checking out the young lady was very pleasant. Nothing extra needed to be done. Just the fact she was not rude meant a lot.

The rooms I booked were very outdated, the toilet was plugged and we had to call the desk to be fixed, the back sliding door seemed broken, the A/C made weird noises so that we couldn't run it at night, and the adjoining door was VERY difficult to open/close to name a few things. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful though.

Why should I check out of a hotel when I've already paid for it? The next day, Sunday I checked out gave them the key and went to another hotel that was more pleasant. The drawers in the room would not stay shut. They were ajar, you shut the drawers and they would just pop right back open.

This hotel is absolutely terrible - the bath mat and bathroom were dirty (makeup stains on light switch), there blackout durtains are inches above the ground so its almost daylight in the room all night and theres a huge gap between the room door and the hallway so you hear... everything. Dont be fooled by the cheap price - its not worth it.

Check in took 30 minutes. There was a long line and it was not efficient. I had reserved 2 rooms and only one was booked under my name. The manager got involved and was aggressively screaming at the guy at the front desk in front of everyone. So unprofessional. We finally got things squared away and one of our 2 rooms smelled suffocating like marijuana. The property was noisy. The pillows felt like sleeping on lumpy rocks. We hardly slept. The only redeeming quality was the guy at the front desk was very kind and accommodating.

They are really good they are very nice I would let people know to come to this motel to get a room cuz they're really really nice and their staff are really really very nice and they will help you and everything Nice people. Nice neighborhood quiet. You got walking distance to shopping centers. I'm done shopping. I prefer people to go here

Poor maintenance. shower curtain rod was ready to fall down. No in room micro wave. In room heater had a noisy fan. Could hear heater fan in room next door.

Low price, good internet, big room, balcony, close to airport.

Old furniture and drapes. Holes allowed massive amount of light in from courtyard floodlights. Not handicap freindly. Checked out 2 days early.

The lower level was easy to climb.

Great property and very spacious rooms, only downside is that the air conditioning hadn’t been activated for the year yet and it got fairly warm in the room some nights. Other than that, great experience, would definitely go again!

Manager lied and was rude to my husband due to the fact that he's a smoker. If I could give this hotel a lower rating I would! And maybe cheap but it is not nice of any of the pictures.

Checked in after midnight & had to wait about 20 minutes for the clerk to show up. He did not explain that there was a heat pump & a radiator in the room & we were supposed to use the radiator for heat. Room was cold all night. When we checked out the older gentleman behind the desk was very rude in explaining to us that we were supposed to use the radiator for heat not the heat pump. Room wasn’t very clean

Older gentleman at front desk that checked us in was very short with us. The mattress did not have a mattress topper so you could feel the springs in the mattress. After walking around barefoot last night & this morning, got in the shower & my feet were black from a dirty floor.

The location was good for what I needed. Property was pretty run down. Weird stains and marks on the furniture. Broken vinyl flooring. Really dirty grout on bathroom floors. Wildly uncomfortable bed and pillows. Thin sheet and blanket. Ac and heater worked really well but were loud. Locked hallway door is a nice safety thing. No major issues but the property and condition of the amenities were poor. Probably would skip staying here next time.

On a main drag so very loud. Thin walls. Very low budget motel for budget hotel price. Pretty sure people live there like crappy apartments.

The room was clean and the bathroom was exceptionally clean. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I asked for a first-floor room and received one, however the first floor is actually half a stairway down from the parking lot at the back of the building. And the second floor is half a stairway up. So really the second floor would have been the same. My room was at the very rear of the property and I did not have wi-fi signal. The motel is a short walk from Virginia Lake, a very beautiful area.

The property was a bit scary. I was by myself. The room was clean and the front desk staff member was very nice.

Room was clean. Mini fridge and microwave. It’s a pretty basic hotel. The bus line is super convenient to downtown.

A convenient place to stay close to the freeways. Will stay there again. The day man was exceptionally helpful. Mahalo and aloha.

Comfortable, best rate in town! However, the heater is tricky. You have to open a little hatch on the of the furnace on the ground. Then you use that switch to turn on. Not the thermostat on the wall.

The outside was a bit dated looking but the paint job looked nice. Inside, it was somewhat modernized, quite sizable rooms, very clean, and well maintained. The rooms didn’t have a lot a bells and whistles but they had the basics that I needed for the price.

Affordable, but our room had a very loud buzzing sound coming from the wall, we asked to be moved and the manager said he couldn't. Whatever you do, do not accept Room 311.

Very well impressed with my stay. They have a little bit of everything and the beds are super comfy! The room is nice and quiet and they don’t allow smoking which I also really like

This motel represents a good value and is in a great area for drinking and dining opy.

My room was nice and fairly decent size for others in the area, however my main hang up is is that there is a swimming pool advertised in the amenities but was not available after check in. Other than that I would definitely say here again
