    Dirty filthy full of cockroach I don't recommend going there. I feel sorry for who works there that they get all the blame is the owners responsibility to maintain their property I am very disgusted and very disappointed yes it is cheap not for the price not even worth $10 to stay there. So if you see this hotel . Just run don't bother.

    This motel was filthy dirty. Stains on the bedding. Walls were dirty as if they had never been cleaned. Floors were filthy. I didn't even stay. I lost out on the money i paid but there was no way i was staying in that place.

    The place is somewhat rundown and dilapidated. There were visible signs of old repairs all over the place that were never quite completed. The carpet was stained. And upholstered chair in the room was stained. It was just disgusting. I won’t be back.

    The room I was given had been used by a vagrant and was filthy and disheveled. Ehen i reported it to the desk, I was told, "yeah, that sometimes happens." No apologies, no empathy.     When we arrived there were no staff members at the front desk, I waited 20 minutes for someone to show up. I payed for a room with a king bed and was given a double queen. When I got to the room there was black mold all along the bath tub, a small blood stain on the pillow case, a faded blood trail down the front of the toilet, left over food sitting on top of the fridge(milk and cheese) and the room had a bad odor to it. After falling asleep I was woken up to light taps on my rooms door and someone shining a flashlight through the window. Over all a terrible experience and my wife and I felt very uneasy and unsafe to the point that we drove 2.5 hours south to Sacramento and paid for another hotel. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Also the swimming pool was filled with green water and the front desk lady said it’s not an issue because the pool is closed just don’t look at it. There was a pile of feces In front of one of the doors to another room, and the only reason our room was somewhat cleaned is my wife asked the front desk for cleaning supplies since they didn’t clean the room before putting us in it.

    Please keep in mind that I don’t have high expectations, just want a clean room and clean, comfortable bed to rest on after a long day of driving. With that said, the young man at the counter was very nice. As for check-in, he had to re-start the computer a few times because it kept crashing, this usually happens if you’re working on an old PC or old software. It took like 15 minutes to check me in. After finally making it to the room, one of my boys finds a cigarette butt on the floor and other small debris was visible, one of the walls by the sink looked like it had dried mucus among other things, when one of my boys lifted the toilet seat, it looked like there was poop on the bottom of it. It looked like all the cleaning crew did was go in and make the beds…I hope they changed the sheets. The smoke detector was removed, the base was there but missing (where’s OSHA?). Just outside the door I counted at least 10 cigarette butts. This place has a trashy feel to it. I don’t know if ownership cares about this place to ever take time to go look at it or maybe they like this vibe. Never again for me.

    As if that wasn’t bad enough, on my third night, I came back to the room and found that ALL MY BELONGINGS WERE GONE. The front desk claimed they assumed we’d broken into the room because the original clerk failed to note that we had switched rooms. They returned most of our belongings, but my husband’s fanny pack with $2,000 in it was missing. We called the police and filed a report, but they said it’s a civil matter, so now we’ll have to take the hotel to court. The hotel gave us a ridiculous excuse about the morning crew being new and not speaking English. To top it off, when we asked to see the security footage, they said the person who cleared our room was the same person with access to the cameras—how convenient. This place is a nightmare. Filthy, poorly managed, and clearly untrustworthy. I’ll NEVER stay here again, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place. I’ll be seeing them in court.

    If you’re looking for a pay by the hour this is your place! The front desk lady Heather was amazing but the facility was disgusting. The room smelled awful, we left the door open and ac on for over an hour and it was still unbearable. The TVs didn’t work. There were people loitering everywhere. The bedspread, sheets, and towels had stains on them. The floor was damp. Go down the street and pay the same price for a place you can actually feel comfortable laying down in and that your vehicle won’t get stolen.

    No refrigerator no telephone to the front desk and the television wasn’t functional. I should have looked the rating on line before I made the reservation but I didn’t. The one line rating I saw was 2.5. In my opinion that is a very generous rating. I won’t ever be staying here again. A tent and an air mattress would be a step up.

    I’ve stayed there several times in the past and never really had an issue this time they wanted to charge the $350 cash deposit which I don’t carry any cash let alone $350 I was there with my son and my boyfriend just trying to find a place to get away from the heat and relax I’ve booked a room with a bed and a pull out sofa bed but instead we just got a queen size bed and no second bed they didn’t have rollaway beds so we had to get an air mattress for my son there was a dirty washcloth in the bathtub and there was earwigs in the bathroom

    The place sucked. We had a King Size bed that was as hard as a rock. Sleeping on the floor would have been better. Also they had two pillows the size of a throw pillow for a couch. Was not great at all. Also the TV didn't work. Also the shower curtain rod was down sloping and the shower curtain would not stay shut and made the whole floor wet and slippy. It would not be my first choice on my next trip there.

    I thought I had made reservations at the Red Lion on Hilltop Drive which is the original Red Lion in Redding and the one that I was accustomed to staying when in Redding. I was not aware there were two Red Lion Motels within a mile of each other. The one I accidentally made reservations with was an old formerly Vagabond Inn and was in deplorable condition. We went to dinner and decided to cancel our stay and were able to get into the regular Red Lion Inn on Hilltop Drive. The lady at the desk said she would refund our money because of the mixup but since it was through Hotel.com, that I would have to contend with them also. So there you are. Trying to contact anyone at Hotels.com is almost impossible. I will not condemn them in this instance but would like a refund non-the-less.

The room had been a smoking room previously and you could smell that as well as what appeared to be numerous cigarettes burns in the drapes. A few electrical plugs didn't work. The real issue was the AC unit which seemed to be defective and made noise of about 76 db.

    Car parked behind us was broken into the night we stayed here. We were originally going to stay for 4 nights but after getting into the room we decided this was not at all a place we wanted to stay. The walls were very dirty as were the window sills. The pool was not clear, looked very cloudy. This building appears very old. Shower head was very low. The AC did not keep the room comfortable at all. It was hard to sleep. The tv had limited channels and the picture was grainy and had lines. I expected better from red lion but this was bottom of the barrel quality.

    The hotel rooms were very very disgusting. The headboards in both rooms look like they had blood spatter on them. The site they were suites, we got there and they were not. Staff was nice. Just not the cleanest or most comfy.

    We arrived @ 230 room wasnt ready, but we were 30 min early so thats fine. We paid for 2 queen beds & 1 double bed instead of double bed they rolled up a single & no sheets, blankets or pillow for it so i had to ask office for them. We were suppose to get free breakfast but they didnt have breakfast available not even coffee. IF YOU HAVE TODDLERS DO NOT STAY HERE, We started unpacking kids starting crawling around 5 minutes later we noticed the kids feet & knees were COVERED IN BLACK DIRT VERY DIRTY FLOORS. Then we went swimming in the pool & I punctured my toe on something & wife's toes had skin torn off both feet. I've never left a BAD review before, but i had to this time. Hopefully you wont have the experience staying here we did.

    Terrible check in process because of all the bad policies aimed at poor people. Will stay at better hotel next time. Room was dirty and smelled smoked in so im going to be upset if they try to charge me for smoking. Best i can say is no roaches or bedbugs.

    Terrible check in process because of all the bad policies aimed at poor people. Will stay at better hotel next time. Room was dirty and smelled smoked in so im going to be upset if they try to charge me for smoking. Best i can say is no roaches or bedbugs.

    The pool was nice but in need of maintenance meaning the paint is chipping into the water. Staff were kind but not readily available. The blankets and sheets seemed stained and many had cigarette burns including holes. Our shower leaked constantly and very minimal outlets. No pool towels and although I got a couple extra towels, it took convincing.

    All staff we encountered were professional and friendly. The 1st room we were given had a broken safety lock on the door, a hole in one wall, a missing dresser drawer, and scraped off paint on the wall. The 2nd room had a broken toilet. My family was very tired, so my spouse and I figured out how to fix the toilet ourselves. That was a first in a hotel! Ew!     We paid for breakfast included and there is no breakfast...not even a cup of coffee. Property is in worst condition of any property I have ever seen. 2 lumpy pillows on king bed need to be to be thrown away. Absolutely awful! Staff said she hears complaints all the time that they advertise they have breakfast included and they don't...but they do nothing about it??? Property is in terrible condition.

    The air conditioner barely worked and it was in the high 90’s. So sleeping was practically impossible. And isn’t that why I paid to stay there?? To sleep? The smoked detector was held on to the ceiling with tape. They didn’t give us an extra toilet paper which we needed. It’s a low budget old place, but the staff member at the front desk was very nice. I would never stay there again.

    This place was not what I expect from a red Lion I believed we were staying at the other location when we booked. It was gross the rooms all smelled of cigarette smoke the beds have a plastic cover on it so you could hear it all night long every time you moved they were very uncomfortable there was really only several layers of sheets and not really a true blanket the pillows were old and chunky foam do not stay here for the price there’s a lot of other nicer hotels book best western

    The location was next door to a gas station and Denny’s restaurant, which was convenient. The moment we went to unload our car upstairs we noticed a hand made sign taped on the door below our room that said “Please do not nok on the door for any reason.” Then a homeless man proceeded to knock on the door and wait. No one answered the door and we waited for the homeless person to walk away, but he did not. So we went back to the office to request a new room, and just to find out the room was just one over next to the signed door, instead of above? The room smells like cigarettes. There were flys flying around the room, Knats in the sink, must most of all, a dead cockroach and dead fly right next to the bathroom toilet! A live cockroach ran around the bathroom while my daughter used the bathroom and made her run and scream. The paint on the walls were peeling off and baseboards covered with dust? We sucked it up and tried to sleep, but around 4am someone outside another room bangs on the windows and doors trying to see the person inside. Eventually they made it inside the room and started to argue and air conditioner barely worked on a 100 degree day. Long story short, no apologies, no refund, I will have to report them to the health and safety board and cancel my payment with my bank.

    Problem with reservation not showing in their system Attendant was not the best did not know what to do, she was overwhelmed and blamed customer for giving other guest our same room! We were patient enough to wait for her but she was not Happy , room was suppose to be tobacco free and it was very smelly the smoke was so bad that my husband has several asthma attacks and had to sleep with a face covering mask!     I assumed the hotel would be like other red lion hotels that i have stayed in. Check in was great, staff was accomadating but the first room was dusty, pillowcases were dirty and tub was not clean. 2nd room after we complained and got moved, had cobwebs in the ceiling corners, torn bedspread, stained towels, hair embedded in the washcloth and the air conditioner barely worked. We also had to ask for extra pillows and the tv remote. And the room next to us had 8 people staying in it (they had the door opened n talked to us) who decided to leave in the middle of the night. Also the pool was locked off and was dirty with leaves in it.

    First, Redding is racist af. Do not stay at this hotel if you are POC. I thought I was booking the other red lion but was ok since they had a pool. It was not clean and this is Redding clean your pool in April. My first morning I woke up to what smelled like someone pissed in the a/c. Turns out someone had pour beer in the a/c and no one bothered to clean it. The rooms were gross. The bathroom gross the staff when I checked in sucked at customer service. Only spoke to me as much as they needed to and it took 15 minutes for me to check in when I was the only one checking in. The only nice thing is the Dennys because at least they were friendly and clean.

    This hotel is subpar. The room was in disrepair. The rooms did not have phones so it was hard to get ahold of the front desk if there was an issue. Their was no extra toilet paper and only two towels for four people. The pool was closed. I will never stay here again

    This was a last minute change of plans, due to weather issues, we were heading to Arizona from Oregon, and instead of driving Southeast through Idaho and Utah as we normally do, we had to head west and then south, through California, so booked this room the morning we stayed. We weren't expecting anything great, but Red Lions have always been nice, mid-upper price range motel. My first mistake was noticing the average rating was 4.6 and thinking it was out of 5(but it's 10)...I booked in a hurry and we arrived. First off, only the gal working at the desk and no one else on the property. No offense to the gal, but the few things we complained about, out of what could been a notebook page list, she wasn't able to help with, because she was at the front desk by herself. Upon entering the room, I noticed two things. A huge stain on one of the 2 chairs, probably years old, and the tv was on some type of 'set up' channel. There was no remote control. There was no desk or small table to do computer work. We had requested a king bed, non smoking and got 2 queens, and the room reeked. Took medication at night, and there were no cups in the room, plastic or otherwise. The nightstand lamp didnt work, and although the gal gave us a new bulb to try (we had to go pick it up), that didnt work either. When calling to complain, the phone itself stuck to the cradle, as if covered in some type of syrup or some sticky mess. We didnt even try the shower, we were out by 5:30am and on the road.

    They advertised a free breakfast which was why I chose to stay here. They dont serve one but still advertise it. Also its very ghetto area. For 125.00 they can atleast provide a cup of coffee. Not going to return. Also the door looks like it got kicked in.

    The place is run down and in poor condition especially for a Red Lion. The next night I stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham and it was fantastic!

    The comforter on the bed was stained. The drapes had stains and tears. The ac/heater was broken and no remote for the tv. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. The walls had chipped paint. It was disgusting.

    It was so dirty and scary we could not stay the night. I reserved a room somewhere else and we left. It smelled like pot and nothing was cleaned in our room. We just turned in our key and went somewhere else.

Bath counter dried soap on both sides of sink. Faucets dirty and had toothpaste on them, hair in bathtub, and possibly dirty or stained sheets. Location not good and very strange people staying or living there. Had to request Kleenex. Bed super soft, lots of motorcycle noise. Will not stay there again!

    I ended up bot staying there. They put me in a room that was being remodeled and painted! So when I went back to the counter the new woman didn’t know where to put me because I had a dog. I ended up asking her if I could just cancel. Hopefully this will get refunded. If not I will be calling you.

    I'm sorry but the place was a dump people were loud and noisy outside of our room not sure but they were probably dealing drugs around there. I got up and left at 3:00 am will never stat at another red lion.

    This red lion needs complete overhaul, its not up to code! Plus the price my husband paid was a total RIP off on Expedia websites!- mold- on the bathroom ceiling, holes in the bedspread,smelly just awfull. we did change rooms it wasn't much better, should of asked for our $$$ back it was getting late!

The room key would not work so I had to walk back and get a new key. I was moved to a different room a few doors down. When I got into that room there was an overwhelming smell of smoke (we booked a non smoking room) and there was hair in the bathtub, immediately we called the front desk. We were told to come back to the office. We were then moved to a third room which appeared to have been cleaned and had no smoke smell. The only problem was the door did not secure flush to the wall. There was a draft that came through. It did not feel safe so I at night I had to place the ironing board against the wall for security purposes.
