Had a wonderful time at the Sonesta Suites. I was so pleased with the accommodations and there was sufficient space for everyone. Was extremely happy to be on the ground floor and close to an exit door for my aged mother. Breakfast was great.

I loved the hotel's convenient location. It was close to the mall, restaurants, and shopping outlets, making it easy to get around and enjoy the area. We stayed in a spacious suite that included two separate rooms—one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. Each room had its own bathroom and amenities, which were perfect for our group. The suite also featured a small kitchen and living room area, making it feel like a home away from home. Although we didn't fully utilize the kitchen, it was nice to have it available. The only thing that could be improved is the parking lot lighting. Some areas were quite dark and could benefit from additional lights. However, this did not impact our stay or make us feel unsafe.

Location. Across the street from publix. Not far from the expressway and Broward mall. Room was nice. Had a fold out couch and a little kitchenette. There seemed to be a nearby soccer tournament. The hotel was full of kids running around. It made it a little hectic at the breakfast buffet which is already in pretty tight quarters to begin with.

My family stayed here for a couple months while our house doen the street got major repairs done. The stay here was amazingly comfortable. The front desk staff was wonderful! Antonia and MartaVis were especially amazing, very friendly every single time we saw them, and so so helpful when we needed something! Our rooms were very accessible and our disabilities were accommodated greatly Some of the breakfast items seemed a little subpar. Mostly the scrambled eggs were a bit too wet.

Breakfast was basic, and you would need to be at the Breakfast station before 9:30, they ran out fast. The sheets were not clean. Cleaning only happens if guests are staying more than 5 days, so absolutely no cleaning, no fresh towels. Tissue is only given through request from the front desk workers.

It is well balanced and tasty. Good choice of offerings. Well done! The $10 charge for each individual package that arrives for a guest was a low point. I can understand that there is extra admin, but $10 on a $15 envelope/ package is a bit too much. Perhaps a reduced per package cost or daily fee or per visit might be more acceptable.

The breakfast was warm and delicious. The comfort of having a personal kitchen with utensils was a benefit. And, the property with pool, laundry and weight room made to stay worthwhile.

I checked out a day early because my wife had an allergic reaction to the cleaning chemicals used. The chemicals triggered an asthma attack. The mattress on the bed was worn and sunken in the middle. There was no way to air out the room.

We stayed one night and it was very good. The property was clean, although the room was a little dated. The room was clean enough although I did notice a little dirt in the rug walking around in my bare feet. The suite is very nice - has everything needed if you want to cook. The breakfast was good - lots of options available. The staff was great - super friendly, super helpful and super attentive. I would stay there again.

Very close to things I complained about the bed. Neither myself or husband are big people but when I went to lived I felt like I was sleeping on the side of a cliff. I had to switch rooms. The second room had a much better room. When I complained to the staff they were like well that’s it. I told them to come in the room but they wouldn’t. One of them finally offered another room.

I was in Fort Lauderdale for a wedding. I arrived to my room after 11 pm. Check in was a bit slow. After checking in I went straight to my room to find a clean room and nice amenities although I did not use the kitchenette. Took a hot shower and rested up for my 6 am train ride. I would stay here again.

the walls, carpet and elevator were really dirty. Very strong smell of cleaning products in the main lobby. Breakfast eggs were overcooked, and bacon was really thin and almost fake.

Breakfast was plentiful and adequate. If they could make a fried egg station ..it would be better. Didn't like how we didn't have someone to throw out the garbage even every day or drop off new towels. I felt like cleaning every 7 days was too long of a policy and puts the hotel at risk for attracting rodents ...especially if you have guests who leave garbage out in the open for days on end.

The breakfast menu offered a wonderful variety of options, making it a delightful start to the day. Parking was hassle-free, which was a real plus. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean, fresh, and incredibly cozy, ensuring a relaxing stay. 😄

The buffet breakfast every morning was amazing. The chicken maple sausage was a favourite for sure. The place was always clean, with immediate service on any amenities needed, like towels and dishwashing soap. They have a nice snacks, drinks, and quick food shop, with very cheap prices. They also had alcohol in the shop, although my family doesn't partake, I saw plenty of other patrions enjoy the array of selection with that. Not much to dislike! A few guests were being loud in the halls during quiet hours, especially in the stairwells; though I don't fault the hotel for their actions. I wish the coffee and hot water drinks area was refilled and available throughout the day but not an issue given they have drinks at the front desk store for very cheap.

Noisy, trashy, people living there, possibly homeless. Charges you for parking but then the front desk person won’t give you a receipt. Now I have to figure out how to get the receipt so I can submit it for my office. Garbage hotel.

Stayed here for a quick night before flying out after a 10 day road trip. Wish we had stayed longer. We had so much space for such a great price! Breakfast was very good too! If we are ever back in Fort Lauderdale, we will stay again!

The property itself is in poor condition and has an unpleasant smell throughout. I did not feel comfortable staying there at all. To make matters worse, they did not have the room I originally reserved. Instead, they gave me a different room and told me I should be “grateful” because it was supposedly an upgrade. If that was considered an upgrade, I can only imagine how unacceptable the other rooms must be. Due to these issues, I was unable to stay at the hotel. This experience was completely unacceptable, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

They have 3 gas grills for patron use so we cooked out and in. The grocery store is walking distance away (Publix). The staff were great! WE made a mistake with our reservation. When the desk called and asked if we planned to check out, We realized that we had shorted ourselves a day! Krista helped us reserve another room, we paid for another day and moved to that room for our last night. She was SO kind and understanding. When we go back to the area we will DEFINITELY stay with Sonesta ES in Plantation again!

The room could have been cleaner. Light switches needed a wipe down as there was dirt around switch plates. There was dust on the all the tables and over head lights in the kitchen area and the dust on phone. Footrest by the couch also needed a wipe down. Staff was very sweet. I expected a cleaner room. Instead, I was told they couldn’t switch rooms because “all the rooms are stained” and the floors were scheduled to be replaced in August. So… you KNOW they’re disgusting, but you’re still renting them out? Cool strategy. Then came the highlight of the evening: Mari informed us that we should never walk in the hotel without shoes on. Ma’am—if footwear is mandatory for survival, maybe the issue isn’t the guests. Maybe it’s the biohazard flooring. We immediately left (obviously), because sleeping next to mystery feces isn’t on our travel bucket list. The hotel refused to issue a refund, which says everything you need to know. Thankfully, Orbitz stepped up and refunded us, because apparently they have higher cleanliness standards than the actual hotel. If you enjoy: Filthy floors Zero accountability Being blamed for expecting cleanliness And staff who casually admit the entire place is stained …then congratulations, you’ve found your spot. Everyone else: RUN. And keep your shoes on. Apparently forever.

The stay was good my only issue was the kids running in the corridor after 10pm and I was extremely tired……. But on a normal basis if I wasn’t so tired it wouldn’t have been an issue to me…..

Unsanitary Conditions: During our stay, we encountered roaches in our room on three separate occasions. This alone is alarming, but it was made worse by the fact that we reported the issue immediately to the front desk and provided photo evidence, including pictures of the roach and a visibly dirty sofa. Despite this, no effective action was taken. We specifically requested pest control treatment and a full room cleaning, yet we were repeatedly redirected, given vague responses, and ultimately nothing was done. Failure to Provide Housekeeping Service: We requested a full room cleaning more than 24 hours in advance and were assured it would be completed. To accommodate housekeeping, I intentionally kept my 4-year-old and 10-year-old children out of the room all day, sacrificing their rest and nap time. Despite multiple follow-ups and our cooperation, no one ever came to clean the room. This was incredibly frustrating and disrespectful of our time and family needs. Poor Front Desk Service: The front desk service throughout our stay was extremely disappointing. The staff member named Marry had a poor and dismissive attitude and offered no meaningful help at all. We were not able to switch rooms, were not provided cleaning service, and were repeatedly told the room would be cleaned when it never was. She lacks of accountability, professionalism, and was incredibly rude.

Pros: strong shower; staff; breakfast, adequate kitchenware / Cons: with the sofa bed folded, the distance between bed and cushions made the cushions on sofa bed sink below sofa frame and they had to be supported with throw pillows underneath which made for a not so comfortable seat. There is no door between the bedroom and bathroom wash basin, so person using the sink bothers the person in bedroom. Pros: strong shower; staff; breakfast, adequate kitchenware / Cons: with the sofa bed folded, the distance between bed and cushions made the cushions on sofa bed sink below sofa frame and they had to be supported with throw pillows underneath which made for a not so comfortable seat. There is no door between the bedroom and bathroom wash basin, so person using the sink bothers the person in bedroom. Our groceries were thrown out on our second day there. Apparently, housekeeping made a mistake coming into our room and notified management. We were never informed and just came home to discover our groceries missing. The hotel ended up giving us a night free, but only because we complained.

The hotel and suite were excellent. My family, kids, wife and I enjoyed our room, breakfast, WiFi, but my so. Slept on the sofa couch with a strong smell of urine. We didn’t notice till the next AM. Upon check out, I informed the attendant. They did nothing for us just an apology.

Overall stay was pleasant. Front desk ladies so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was ok….waffles that my children always look forward to was “not working” for our entire stay and the variety of fruit was “hit or miss”. Attention to these little things makes would make the stay perfect

I love the room layouts. This time I stayed by the elevators but it was a bit noisy during the night. I could hear people outside my room. I also wanted to be close to the laundry room but only 1 unit was working and was always in use. Besides that, the hotel, staff, breakfast and the rooms are always nice, comfy and feels like home.

Second time at Sonesta Plantation, and again, great experience. Hallway carpets are a bit dirty, but rooms are clean and quiet. Location is perfect, with grocery store, shopping areas and restaurants nearby. Only complain this time, pool area was not available all week because of major groundwork. Next time, will make sure the pool area is available. But otherwise, great stay. Will be back.

This hotel is a good and convenint choice for shopping and doing business.Breakfast was ok but lacks variety. Even though its a pet friendly space i dont think the corridor should be smelling of pets which affected my daughter's allergies.

Breakfast was fresh. Clean and tidy. Didn’t like the carpets and the need to pay for parking. Few staff were friendly and most were very serious or grumpy. Also didn’t like the non- secure wooden room doors with the regular hook and latch safety but that’s just my opinion as a single female.

Next, I decided to cook something since I'm in a kitchenette: one of the burners never did heat up. The other one did great in fact, I burnt my food. Furthermore, the lighting; just seems dingy and gloomy in here. The lighting is pretty poor. Even with the windows open and the sun shining. The bed is really comfortable! That's a plus. The breakfast is pretty good for a hotel. Sausages and eggs and yogurt; the typical breakfast fair. But the lady who manages it at least changes things up a bit. One morning she actually had tortillas and fresh salsa. Decent coffee with real half-and-half provided. The gym is doable. Except there's absolutely no towels or Handi wipes to clean the machines. There is a free laundromat. Several of the machines are down;

It was 1 night. There was very noisy people in the room across the corridor. Sounded like they were having a party. I called reception and then they turned the music down. When I checked out the computer was down and I ended up getting charged the deposit which should have been returned. It took for me to claim it back from my credit card. Multiple phone calls and emails. This shouldn’t have happened. Always make sure you have a checkout bill. I’m very disappointed with Sonesta.

Check in was easy and fast. The issue came after we got to the room. I booked 1 king bed room and was given 2 queen so I went back downstairs to get switched to the correct room. When I got back to the front desk to clear up the mix up, I was informed that my reservation had been changed by the hotel because they had no more king beds. When I asked why I was not informed beforehand so I could have made other arrangements, I was told that when the room booked are sold out, they automatically switch you rooms without notice. I feel that this is incredibly underhanded because what I received was not what Ipaid for. When I had no choice but to accept what I was given and go back to the room, my wife had found a razor guard still in the shower (from the previous resident) and also a hair wad wrapped around a hair tie on the middle of the bathroom floor. I've stayed at this hotel 1 week out of every 3 months for the last 4 years, even in the resent for work and I'm not sure if they got a new cleaning staff or what, but this room was gross as if the bed was made and they moved on to the next. The next morning, upon check out, cleaning staff was leaning on her cart texting and talking on her phone as 2 dead roaches were literally 2 feet from her cart. Between the room switch without notice, lack of room cleanliness, and Laxidasical staff, this will most likely be my last stay here. Dont know how it went down so quickly.

I requested a room change with two beds to accommodate my family which became a nightmare. I was transferred to a room 2 bed that wasn’t clean. There was human hair in the bathtub and trash on the counter. When I protested and requested to move back to the room I was originally, and a man told me that wasn’t possible blah blah blah blah…. Some workers from housekeeping were given me dirty look in the hallways/breakfast area as everything seemed to become so dramatic, because management revealed my name to the workers as the guest who complained about poor service. That was very unprofessional.

Second time at the property. We like the location, the size of the suite and the upkeep of the hotel. It is clean with helpful friendly staff!

Firstly Room was allocated on level 1 whichhad soiled smell, thereafter we realised cockroachs are roaming around the bed!! After complaining room was changed to level 3, which was better. I didn’t felt value for the money I paid. It was not cheap booking, secondly hotel charged USD5 per night for parking, I don’t recollect if this was mentioned at the time of booking.

We have nothing to say that would be considered an item that could be corrected or improved.

--- Peaceful Stay with Courteous Service I recently stayed at this hotel and appreciated the quiet, relaxing atmosphere—it was just what I needed. The staff were consistently polite and attentive, which made check-in and daily interactions smooth and pleasant. While I didn’t get the chance to explore the entire property, what I did see was well-maintained and inviting. I’d love to return and experience more of what the hotel has to offer.

The property itself felt more like a construction site than a hotel. Hallways had unpainted plaster patches and visible holes, giving the hotel an unfinished and poorly maintained appearance. On the pool deck, ants were noticeable, and there were no pool towels available during our visit. To make matters worse, the pool area often smelled of smoke from cigars, hookah, and general smoking, which was unpleasant, especially for families. At times, there was even a strong odor of weed inside our suite. The amenities also fell short. The washer and dryer were broken, the pancake machine did not work, and only one side of the toaster functioned. The freezer door in our room would not stay shut, and the ice maker was out of order. These small but important details added up and made the stay frustrating. Breakfast was another letdown. The only hot items were watery scrambled eggs and sausages that looked more like hot dogs. While there was oatmeal, toast, yogurt, and muffins, the overall quality was far below what we expected. Overall, the Sonesta Plantation needs significant improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, and amenities. At present, I would not recommend it for guests seeking a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

My stay at Sonesta was okay. The only thing that I did not like about this hotel is that Housekeeping did not check daily to see if I needed towels or fresh linen. I was at Sonesta for 6 nights and only one day they came to clean my room and replace towels. The breakfast was decent. Other than that this property I felt safe and around the hotel and it was clean around the property. The Publix grocery store was across the street; and this was very convenient to me.

Marlon with Ecolab, entered my room a few hours later and immediately stated that what I was seeing was in fact termites. He checked every cabinet and piece of furniture. I previously had a home in SFL that had termites so I am aware of what termite activity looks like. This whole situation was extremely traumatic to me. I moved into a new home less than a year ago. The thought of taking termites back with me to my new home was extremely upsetting. I sat there in tears on my computer thinking about what all of this meant for me and my belongings. After procuring a hotel thirty minutes away (there were no more rooms), I started the arduous task of packing. I made sure to check all of my belongings very carefully. I threw out everything made of wood or cardboard because that is termite food. I packed all of my clothes from the dresser that had termites into plastic bags so I could take them to be cleaned. I wasn’t going to take any chances that I might bring one of these pests back home with me. Meanwhile, the hotel produced a document stating there were no termites in my room. I find this lie very offensive since the evidence was clear. I even uploaded the photo to the internet and it came to the same conclusion (see photo).

Breakfast in the morning was good but last half hour of dining time had food running low and staff would not replenish food even though still had full hotel with lots of hungry people.

The entire room smelled like stale water, which was evident by the bottoms of the doors and cabinets had water stains to them. The entire room was overwhelmed with what I could best describe as a room deodorizer in attempt to hide the musty, wet smell. We came to this conclusion when we visited a family members room in the same hotel and there is smelled fresh and clean.

The room was overall very nice. The sofa was in need of repair or replacement but really this was the only issue. The room was clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was good with a nice dining area. If you don’t need to be right at the beach, I highly recommend this hotel.

I didnt like that the room was not clean only once requested. I Stayed for a week and a person only replenish tissue and throw out the garbage. I Had to ask for towels and tissue on more than one occassion. Also, when showering you only had a short time to shower because the tub drain continuously closed and jammed therefore the water couldnt flow down the drain.

The rooms need more work. Upgrades on the furnishings should happen in the near future. Housekeeping should take just a little bit more time cleaning and disifecting. The breakfast set up was nice and filling. Overall, spruce up the rooms.

My room was small but nice, clean no bugs, one lamp did have a bit of tarnish at the bottom and my fridge had a small odor nothing major (probably just needs some baking soda) comfortable bed and well stocked free toiletries. It was easy to get towels from the desk as needed. I was there 3 days and the wafflemaker was never working at breakfast 🙁 that made me sad, breakfast was basic but clean and stocked. There's a nice gym and laundry is FREE. I didnt get to use the pool, and Publix is across the street and theres also a library within walking distance. Overall 9/10 I will be back.

The property is decent and reasonable. We faced issues during check-in, as the receptionist mentioned she didn't see our reservation and wouldn't be able to help, as it was through Expedia. However, she was able to assist us later when the reservation appeared without us doing anything. I don't know what was wrong.

There was an a/c leak in the lobby the entire time i was there and the pool was not clean. I request extra ammenties for the room which i got about two days later. The bathrooms are extremely small and the tub leaked from the outside everytime i used it. Some positives are the surrounding area which felt safe and close to gas stations and the westfield mall. Overall, i probably would not stay at this hotel again unless they make some major changes. The staff were not rude but could be a bit more enthusiast about their service delivery.

Quiet, affordable place. Haven't had any complaints as yet. They are persuading me to switch from my frequent hotel to them. That other place don't even include breakfast but they do which is good.
