Comfort Suites Pineville - Ballantyne Area

The staff I came in contact with were all pleasant and friendly, but someone (security?) probably needs to patrol the property to contain the behavior of guests gathering right outside the exit doors to smoke and drink (beer out of coolers). We were disappointed by the lack of A/C in the hallway and elevator, and by the breakfast not being served until 7 a.m.

The room was acceptable for myself but due to the manual door latch lock being broken, I didn’t feel secure at night sleeping. The door had a lock on the handle part but the other locking mechanism was only half there. The shower water would not shut off completely either. The room was acceptable otherwise and the staff was helpful.

Stopped halfway home to Pennsylvania from Florida. Booked this last minute to break up the trip home. More than pleasantly surprised. Family of 6, plenty of space. The beds were comfortable the pillows were the best we had on our trip. The breakfast was adequate and time/money saving since it was included. N/A

I recommend the hotel; it was exactly what I expected for the price. I loved that it was in a safe area, close to several shops. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast, as it needed to be restocked frequently due to the large number of people eating there.

We were here with a soccer team for a tournament. The hotel was very dirty and felt unsafe. Police were called around 3:00 AM on our first night because of a fight, and a few days later we learned that someone had DIED on the property. The hotel did offer two free nights after everything that happened, but we chose to leave and stay elsewhere. Very disappointing experience- do not recommend

The bed was comfortable. The A/C worked well. The refrigerator in the room is old and makes a loud noise at random times almost every hour. It made it difficult to truly get a deep sleep and the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything. The iron is old and needs to be replaced. The bathroom door was installed backwards instead of it opening out it opens in which makes it very uncomfortable. It makes the already small bathroom smaller. The room had a musty smell to it and I think it comes from the old carpet. It’s as though the rooms haven’t been updated since the 80’s. I think if they remodel the rooms, remove the carpet and make them more modern it would come a long way.

Location was good, plenty of shops nearby and Carolina Place Mall was just across the street. If staying in Charlotte for a short time and looking to be near both Ballantyne and Pineville, this works well. Rooms were standard rooms in this category, good size and comfortable. The corridors and rooms of this hotel have a musty smell to them, not terrible but took away from giving this a better rating because it was noticeable, i changed my room but the other room was similar. The pillowcases and sheets did not smell fresh. These are simple fixes - hopefully the hotel will allocate extra budget to that. There were parts of this hotel that look slightly uncared for, dirt in the corners, etc. I would still stay here at this price point and location though.

Very dirty hotel. The lobby even smelled smoky when we arrived. There were stains on the walls in the lobby and halls. The halls smelled like mold. They only seem to vacuum the middle of the rooms because there were crumbs and dirt all around every edge and all the furniture. The furniture was faded, stained and even significantly damaged. Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time. I’d try any other hotel in the area. The pictures of the lobby are not accurate either.

I was able to check in an hour early with free of charge. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Also, the location is across from the mall and different restaurants. Very convenient, 10/10 stay!

I agree with some reviews regarding certain rooms needing a few touch ups. The lamps in our room looked like it was smooshed/bent and they were attached to the bed frame. The wall beside the bed had a yellow stain and the wall near the sink looked like it had strips of water going down. The floor need to be deep clean , my socks was a little dirty.

Had to change rooms because the 1st room had nasty stuff all ove the base of the bed abd floor.. 2nd room needed a clean top cover which i went downstairs and got a new one and replaced it. The manager on duty was the best!!

When my family checked in, we were greeted by Jeffery. He was very welcoming and made sure we were taken care of at check-in. Also, it was nice, after a travel day and long day at Carowinds, to have the pull out sofa already turned down. I personally thanked the housekeeper for doing this. We stay in numerous hotels across the country and this was the first time this was done. We will definitely return!

It was very unfortunate how dirty the rooms were because the location is perfect. You have dining and activities right nearby. The rooms however were disgusting. I found mold in the mini refrigerator and on the lamp shade. The bed sheets were also dirty and the couch had a massive hole in it.

The hotel was in a good location with restaurants and the mall close by; however, the hotel smelled like cigarettes as soon as you walked in. My non-smoking room also smelled like cigarettes. Booked this hotel due to its 8.4 rating on Expedia. Arrived at 10pm expecting a smoke free room. Room clearly had been smoked in, front desk said there were no other rooms and gave us some air freshener. Went to make the pullout bed, and there were no linens and the mattress was filthy. Would never recommend staying at this hotel.

I am not that picky of a traveler but this place was not what I expected at all. Bathroom was awful - extremely low toilets and seat was askew and ready to fall off. Shower wall with faucets looked like it was ready to pop off. Hair dryer didn’t work nor did phone to call front desk. Went down and they had no hair dryers . Also no extra blankets or pillows. Was definitely not a place I would stay at again

This property is next to the shopping plaza which is very convenience. However, the hotel has a kind of smell around the elevator area and I am sensitive to the unclean airconditioner. Maybe the filter needs to be cleaned.

The room was in terrible condition ! It smelled of cigarette smoke, despite the claim of it being a 100% smoke free property. The microwave was so dirty it could not be used. In addition, the doors all had sticky spots all over them. Lastly, the phone was so dirty we would not touch it. I am extremely disappointed in our stay ! If we had not checked in so late in the evening we absolutely would have left immediately. I was thankful the sheets appeared to be clean.

In addition, the doors all had sticky spots all over them. Lastly, the phone was so dirty we would not touch it. I am extremely disappointed in our stay ! If we had not checked in so late in the evening we absolutely would have left immediately. I was thankful the sheets appeared to be clean.

Multiple issues around bathroom, furniture, outlets in rooms, and phone not even working

The pictures on Expedia DO NOT match what you will see in person. First, the parking lot is not well lit, people were hanging around smoking near the door of the hotel, even the entrance of the door right at the threshold was dirty and dingy and set the tone for what I should’ve expected. The front desk clerk was nice but that was the one and only good thing. The lobby is old looking and not appealing, the room was nice sized but it was filthy. I didn’t even want to sit my bag down so I held everything in my hand. When I looked at the bed I immediately saw big dirty stains, the shade thing on the window wouldn’t move so even if I stayed I wouldn’t be able to put it down. I didn’t stay longer than 5 minutes. I immediately returned the key and left and checked my stuff for bedbugs. That hotel made me feel dirty.

This property needs a lot of repairs The shower was leaking all night. We reported it but it was never repaired. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways and marijuana smoke in the lobby

TVs not working in 2 out of 3 romms booked, broken toilet seat. Old wrinkly looking linens. Duvet or comforter not clean, rooms not very pleasant smelling. Bath towels, washcloths, etc. not supplied adequately for number of guests per room. 2 out of 3 rooms did not have closing drapes. Only one elevator that I am aware of. Definitely did not match reviews I read when scheduling. Do not recommend.

We arrived at the hotel with our small children after reading the reviews on expedia. The staff was very kind when we arrived and check is was easy. However, the hotel is very outdated and dusty and dirty. Everything is old and looks like it hasnt been cleaned in forever. When my husband brought our bags in he noticed a condom wrapper next to our car and as we were walking to our room it smelled like weed. When we got to our room not only was it severely in need of updating (broken, scratched furniture and lamps) it was filthy. There was stains on the bedskirts, dust everywhere and too many broken items to count including a cracked sink. The phone and alarm clock were covered in dust. I was so skeeved i just wanted to get my family out of there but it was so late and we couldnt find another hotel with availability that late on a saturday. Its so dirty i didnt even want to go to sleep.

Parking was extremely tight. Our air conditioner made a loud humming sound all night. Between the air conditioner and the very noisy room above us, we left at 4 am. Would definitely NOT recommend this hotel.

The desk manager was polite and gave several opinions for hotels for the night as were coming from the hurricane zone and hoping to fly home in the morning Disappointed with Expedia for offering and selling an unavailable room and failing to provide a timely refund.

Nice place to relax

A few negatives: the loudness of the A/C unit and the small size of the bathroom - neither of which was a real detriment. The bigger issue was that the back entrance did not need a room “key” to open. Anyone could just come in the back door.

The room was excellent except for the clogged slow flushing toilet.

Conveniently located with plenty of food and shopping options. Staff at front desk not friendly at all. We stayed 2 nights and not one person even acknowledged our existence. Check in guy very rude. Said we should’ve given a courtesy call because we were late and when I said we did call he said well you didn’t talk to me and repeated courtesy call would be appreciated .
