Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its location, with many guests appreciating its proximity to Chase Field, Footprint Center, and various restaurants. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful. However, there are consistent complaints about the cleanliness of the rooms and the quality of the desserts. Some guests also express dissatisfaction with the additional fees for Wi-Fi and parking.
- Great location within walking distance of Chase Field, Footprint Center, and many restaurants
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Inconsistent cleanliness in rooms
- Poor quality desserts and pastries
- Additional fees for Wi-Fi and parking
- 4/5
The additional $25 daily destination fee was disappointing. It would be greatly appreciated if guests had the option to opt out of this fee or if it could be eliminated altogether, as this would enhance the overall guest experience.

Close to my event. The staff( a lady wear no uniform dressed in pink head to toes)couldn’t find my reservation with my confirmation number,ID and confirmation emails and membership app open to them and argued with me tried to dismiss me . It took over 30 minutes for her to find my reservation. Instead of apologizing she still tried to argue with me.

Great location for the convention center. First room had not been cleaned. Front desk quickly found another room and provided hotel credit that was able to be used at the restaurant (which is excellent). Unfortunately, the second room had a terrible mildew smell that only got worse over the course of my stay.
- 3/5
Older hotel definitely needs to upgrade. Needs more of a variety of food in the restaurant and for room service.

wait time at desk excessive understaffed front desk and wait time to get car more than 45 minutes!!! over 850 for one night- should be perfect

They charge de club level and it’s pretty bad, no alcohol serving included and the hor douvres time 5-7 pretty skimpy little bits of cheese and terrible spinach dip. Never experienced that in any hotels I’ve stayed in the past.

The hotel is quite elegant. Both the pool and fitness room are first class. The staff person who checked us in made sure we had a room apart from the very large wedding party who were staying there. My only complaint is that there was a sizable unaccounted for expense on the receipt emailed to me. I was only able to look into the charge via email. I am still waiting to hear back from them regarding this expense. Had it not been for this discomfort, I would have given the hotel a five star rating if their billing department was more accessible in addressing my question about the unexpected expense.

Pool area was tiny, no music, no bar and shaded all day! Lounge chairs were ripping. Also the AC went out in the building so the rooms and floors were very warm. Staff was great and rooms were clean

The hotel is beautiful. The staff was wonderful. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors every move. Lots of construction in the city that starts at 7am. We loved our stay anyway. Also, no free parking. So if you’re driving expect to spend $30-50 everyday in parking.

Loved that it was close to the downtown area. I was disappointed in the condition of the room that we were in — quality checks of the rooms should be done before letting guests check in. Our room had hair in the tub, floors and on the walls. Then there was no power from 11:50 PM - 5:15 AM which was an inconvenience.

Stepping out of shpwer,, slip and my face met the tile floor and hurt my back also. Reported to front desk, had to request EMS to clear possible concussion. Just ruined what was suppose to be my Birthday weekend.. thanks.. And lastly, they get you with $140 in hiddeb fees when you check out.. thanks again..

when I checked in, they gave me the wrong room. This is the second time that’s happened. I was supposed to have the club suite was two beds and they gave me the club suite with one bed. I went downstairs with all my luggage and they ended up giving me a regular room with two beds. Had a lot of luggage so I tried to call from the room phone and nobody answered for about 45 minutes. I ended up going back downstairs and waited 30 minutes to get the right room and they made me feel like it was my fault then I got the wrong room. It’s too bad cause this place is really nice and I love the area.

I was in Phoenix to attend events at the convention center and the location of the Renaissance was perfect. The staff was very friendly, the on site restaurant/bar and staff were great. There were a several convenient restaurants in the area as well. The accommodates were top notch. Rooms were large and there was a large closet in the bathroom area as well. Bathrooms were set up nicely with the shower and toilet in an area separate from the sinks which is alway nice when multiple people are trying to get ready. Beds were soooo comfortable! I will definitely stay here again.

Check-in was smooth and easy, Sylvia was great. I was travelling with a friend and she booked her room later than I did, but both front desk gals were great about putting us on the same floor at least. Hotel location in downtown is hard to beat, you are close to everything! Food, shops, coffee, clubs, etc. We just so happened to be staying during a Diamondbacks series game weekend and the Morgan Wallen concert so there were people everywhere but the hotel was busy but quiet, it didn't feel over crowded considering all the events. We actually picked this location because it was close to the comedy club we had traveled down to see Nurse John (tiktok superstar), within walking distance. Phoenix heat is never a joke, and the concierges were ready with ice cold mini water bottles whilst we checked in. Beds were comfy, bathroom was clean, water pressure in the shower was meh, décor was interesting given the history behind it. The lamp is something you all have to check out and see for yourself. I'm not sure if I would say I didn't like it, I had just never experienced this, the public restrooms in the lobby have a very interesting sound. I believe the owners wife had an affinity for owls, so when you walk into the restroom you hear owl calls or whooing...I guess she has passed away and he wanted to highlight this in honor of her, which is a sweet sentiment. The water pressure in the shower was meh (it's a thing, getting all the shampoo out of your hair takes sooooo much longer if the pressure is terrible, may as well rinse it in the sink). I may have skipped over the part in the booking that says its Valet parking only, I wasn't upset, I love valet parking, and realistically the parking garage wasn't far, I could see someone though who in 115 degree heat having to lug the luggage from the garage to the hotel would be hazardous, guess that's why everything is on wheels nowadays. However, maybe making that more visible prior to booking would be helpful.

If you plan on sleeping past 3:45am don't stay here. Construction started before 4am every morning directly outside the window to the room. Impossible to sleep through. Staff should have disclosed this prior to booking. They also should have let you know the facilities(fitness room) was down. They said I could go to the Westin("sister") hotel and use there, however when I showed up the staff at the Westin appeared very turned off and had me "wait in the lobby until they could get someone to escort me". after 10 minutes it was apparent they would not, as I walked out the receptionist looked at me like good, leave. Major disappointment from a hotel that claims to be an elite in the area.

This property has a Starbucks onsite, which was nice. It also has an onsite restaurant which had some pretty decent food. The buttermilk pie was ridiculously delectable, and the wings were good also. The decor was a mix of modern and what appeared to be dated within the hotel rooms. There was also an owl theme going on, and the public restroom off of the lobby had owl noises and visuals, which I actually found a little strange. The customer service was excellent, and I took advantage of the recommended restaurants on a pamphlet the Guest Services desk provided. It is walking distance to the convention center, restaurants, and train stops, so it is a fairly good location.

Incredible staff! From the front desk arrival and departure to the amazing Navigator that told us about all the fun things to do and places to eat - can’t say enough about their hospitality. The rooms are small - they are in a partial renovation mostly for the bathrooms. Ask about room size especially if traveling with more than 2 people. Walking distance to the convention center. Get a rental car because even with Waymo and Light Rail having wheels to explore is easier. The people are amazing and so welcoming!

I just had my car detailed. The misters outside at the valet are on too high. When I got my car back it was covered with water spots from the misters. I had to have the car re-detailed the next day. My detailer pointed out one of my wheels was now scraped. It was not damaged when he detailed it the day I checked into valet. I called and spoke to the desk manager. She said she would call me back. It’s been 6 days and no follow through. I would recommend the hotel but I would park my own car.

honestly it was a pretty miserable experience for me. I had accidently booked a stay here and at the Marriot on the same days. I tried to cancel the stay here but they were going to bill me for 1 night stay which was about $350. I then then figured I could stay there one night and just cancel the subsequent nights. I called customer service who recommended I speak with the hotel staff directly. When I went there, they told me they would charge me over $500 to cancel but I could stay there for 1 night for $600 or all 3 nights for $1500. The front desk guy kept going back to his manager and everytime he came back he would quote me a higher price...then it became $600 to stay for 1 night which I believe should be a criminal offense. This experience just negatively colored my entire experience and overshadowed anything potential positive attributes the hotel had which is why my overall score is low. I felt completely taken advantaged of. I will NEVER return. I ended up only staying for 1 night because cheaper to pay Marriot's cancellation fee. Their room was small, definitely not worth $600.

Room is nice and comfortable and it is a great location near the Financial Theater. It was nice to have a Starbucks in the lobby for morning coffee. The parking is pretty expensive and they tacked on a $25 destination fee when I checked out that I found out could have gone towards a credit at the restaurant or something else if I had known about it. Those types of hidden fees are always burden on customers who are already paying a premium for their room and parking. If you don’t mind those two things it is a very nice hotel with comfortable beds and is walking distance to good restaurants and music venues.

I stayed here for a business trip. The hotel was very clean and the staff is very nice. I died at the restaurant. The food was pretty good. My hotel room was nice spacious and comfortable. I did not have any issues with the property itself. there’s plenty of places to eat around it as well.

Wonderful stay! We stayed in the handicap accessible room for my husband who uses a wheelchair and I have to say it was the best room layout for his needs that we've ever been in. Will stay here again.

We were in town for the Rate Bowl. Our stay was 12/23-12/27. We found being Bowl game week and games (college & NFL) being televised the bar would be able to show games. There were not able to show the Chiefs on Netflix and it was quite unprofessional when 4 staff members were trying to hook up a compter to a tv to get the game. During that fame (where people watched on their phones in the bar), there were numerous people who walked in and left because the game wasnt on. Its a hige football week and " the ball was dropped". The hotel was filled with K-State fans in for the bowl game on the 26th. There was inadequate staffing in the bar area from the 25th through the morning of the 27th. The wait times for drink service were long, when it came to the menu the waitresses didnt know the menu, there was no food option between breakfast and lunch. I understand it was Christmas but we should have been afforted the service we paid for. There was also a good amount of complaining by several bartenders who were alone behind the bar. It was uncomfirtable to say the least. However, while in the bar, the The exception to the service was Rhonda. She handled the bar and table service fantastically. She is a true example of professionalism and very customer oriented.customer service.

Moved after being woken up the first two days. Second room was in horrible condition - shower barely worked - dirty
- 5/5
Problem was room service was awful! They bring food in packages not on service tray or table it was like COVID all over again l won’t stay there next year! Also food choices very lacking! No fresh fruit or vegetables or beverages like ice tea!

My room was super cold and the Heater dosnt work

There were consistent issues with the elevator during our whole stay where we had to resort to the stairs because it was over a 10 minute wait to get on the elevator from the 7th floor. In addition, our sheets and comforter both had stains and we had to request new blankets however those had hair imbedded in the fabric. The room was dusty so we did end up doing some cleaning of our own.

Great location, average corporate hotel. The first day I requested a room change because the toilet didn't flush. The second room had a different problem. There was noise ( hammering and drilling) all afternoon because they were doing upgrades on my floor. I requested a wake up call and never got it. I'd give this hotel a C and wouldn't recommend

Talked to receptionist and she gave us another room that’s was clean When checking in they usually charge a deposit … when I checked to see my bank account they had charged the room fee again…. Talked to the receptionist and had to show proof I had paid the room.. Hopefully it’s all cleared with the bank .. lol Other than that everything was good..

Great location, gorgeous upscale interior designs, good food, walking distance to the convention center, ball park and arena. Rooms are very nice and several times I’ve watched games in their bar even when I’m not staying at the hotel

It’s been a very rough few days here. Met a roach in my room. A room door that won’t shut correctly, could allow you to not secure your room. No toilet paper after having the room was cleaned. Discovered this in the middle of the night at in the worst way. This is what you get for $700 a night. Crap view, a roach, and nothing to wipe with.

We were excited to go and spend a little time at the pool before a concert. When we got to the pool, it was one of the worst pools I’ve ever seen! Small, dirty and crappy! I’ve see better pools at motels. The room was average
