Arrived at property and noticed there weren’t many vehicles, but people hanging out in parking lot — pool was the color of swamp water and looked similar to the swamps in Louisiana — the person working desk walked us to our room and before we walked through hallway doorway to where the guest rooms are, it smelled terrible— when the room was shown to us, it was “creepy”— one bed had a quilt on it, did not match other bed and looked as if someone was living in the room and had decorated (tried to) with the little bit of belongings they had — pictures on wall were not what you’d see in a “hotel” and the miscellaneous “decor” around the room was not hotel “decor” — left hotel, went and looked later that night to check out the area — more individuals were in the parking lot— my son and I watched a drug deal— and that’s when we LEFT! I had to pay for this reservation and because the time of year and a lot of people in town for competition my son was in, most hotels were booked — FINALLY found somewhere else to stay — was late and had my 16 year old and 9 month old with me! ALWAYS READ EVERY REVIEW BEFORE BOOKING — have pictures that I took; NOTHING like pictures posted online. I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED A FULL REFUND FOR THIS BOOKING!!!! DISGUSTING (polite way to describe this place) AND VERY SKETCHY

My stay was horrible. There were bugs in our room, we paid for a smoking king size with a pull out couch and didn't get that we only got a king size room without the pullout. The there wasn't even a power cord plugged into the cable box, and we complained to the manager but she simply said here was nothing they could do about it. The door to the room did not shut properly and could be accessed without a key card by pushing on the door with little effort. We asked for extra towels and pillows to be in the room and they're was no extras. There were multiple holes all over the walls and the carpet was ripped away from the wall. The only thing that worked right in the room was the toilet and shower. I was very I satisfied with my stay and asked for my money back but was told they don't do refunds and said if I was unhappy that I could have gone somewhere else. I am the wife of a Ssgt in the U.S Air Force and this was highly unacceptable and rude. I would not stay here again ever and would never recommend it to anyone. I lost my money and now there's no way to get it back. Also we found out when we got there we had to pay $67.30 for our room but they gave the same room to someone while I as checking out for $45.30, why were we charged so much more for such deplorable conditions.

When we pulled up and saw the place from the outside we knew it was going to be bad. The building is in an advanced state of disrepair. I truly don’t think it should be allowed to be open in its current state. The photos online at Expedia are severely out dated and misleading. We had to walk past the pool to get into the office and it was green. The office looked like it was dated back in the 80's and never properly maintained and now it just looks nasty. The hallway to our room smelled musty and of cigarette smoke. The room also smelled this way and it was a non-smoking room. The bathroom floor was weak and felt like you were going to fall through it. I was genuinely scared for my family’s safety staying there and wished I brought my handgun with me for protection. I’ve got 8 years of law enforcement experience dealing with just this type of people that stay at this place. I will not rent from here again.

There was no ice machine. Dryer did not work. Tv got one channel. Carpet smelled very bad. Pillow was brown, and the worst pillow i have ever seen. The air worked great and the room was clean. The staff was nice. There was someone repairing things at the hotel.

In all fairness it is being remodeled and we had a remodeled room which was good. The place appears to have suffered from neglect over the past few years but is being renovated. The common areas are in poor condition, but again they are working on it. They will have you sign a sheet listing stuff in the room and what you will be charged it if is stolen -- the problem is it isn't all there in the first place. I was a good thing it was my son with me and not my wife as she would never have stayed, but it was fine. The pool was closed.

Expedia booking listed the property as The Lodge at Pensacola however the hotel is actually an Econo Lodge so it was misrepresented and the overall quality is terrible, the room smelled old and musty and the cheap carpet was damp and sticky. We wanted to walk out but the hour was late so we stayed overnight. There was no soap and the front desk said they were out and none was available. There was no one at the front desk when we went to check out.

I booked two nights at this motel. Not knowing that once I got there it was a run down roach motel. The smell and the filth was awful.I arrived at 1 am in the morning and my two year old was exhausted so I had no choice but to stay the night. I was scared to be in this motel. I think hotel.com should be ashamed to advertise it on there site. I waited in the loddy for 30 min the next day to check out and get my refund for the night I wasn't going to stay. I ended up calling the front desk, which I heard the phone ring and the answering machine pick up. I finally left and ran a errand and came back, still no one at the front desk. I phoned them again and a lady answered and she showed up 10 min later. She said I would get a refund, but I haven't seen anything.

There was no staff overnight. I tried to check out at 6:45 am and there was no one to check out with. The office was closed. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. There was leftover stuff in the dresser from the previous tenant. There was all kinds of toys and clothes under the bed. The was rolled up toilet paper under the sink. I brought these things up with one of the staff shortly after check in then left for dinner. I came back, and the stuff in the dresser was gone and the tissue under the sink was gone as well. But, the stuff under the bed was still there. When I went to find staff to tell them about it AGAIN, they had all left for the night. The room itself was alright. But, I will not be staying there again.

Unless you're renting by the hour, stay elsewhere.

We booked this hotel through a Travelocity "Top Secret" deal. We were making a quick trip to Pensacola to help our son with a move. This hotel was the WORST place we have EVER stayed! It was filthy dirty. The carpets were ripped and held together with duct tape in places. The shower rod fell off the wall twice. The walls were so thin we heard everything and everyone. We booked three nights, stayed two, and can't believe we lasted that long. Even though we lost money by leaving a night early it was worth it for cleanliness and peace of mind. This place was GROSS, GROSS, GROSS! When you book a Top Secret deal you agree to pre-pay and can't get your money back which is a shame because a place like this must be laughing all the way to the bank.

The hotel and our room had a wet smell to it, but the room was clean, and bathroom was in good condition. Maid service didn't replenish the rags and hand towels a couple of the days. Free breakfast is a joke. You could choose between a danish or biscuits & gravy. They didn't even have jelly or peanut butter to put on the biscuits if you didn't want the gravy. The pool was disgusting and not usable. Overall our stay was fine and if I needed a cheap place to stay I would stay here again.

It was awful. The hotel is creepy to say the least. It was hard to find. There should be signs directing people of where the hotel is. When entering the motel, the hallways were dimly lit and there was an odor. Once we entered the room, there was a cockroach in the restroom. There were even bug guts on the walls in the room. We did not sleep well and when we went to wash up, there weren't even any wash cloths. The hotel is disgusting!! Will never stay or recommend anyone to stay at an Econo Lodge ever again.

I ended up having to stay here two Saturdays in a row.... needless to say, I was NOT looking forward to the 2nd visit. I don't think they have ever owned a vacuum cleaner.... EVER. The stairwell is so filthy. My son walked around in the room without shoes and his feet were black and sticky.... I had walked once or twice to the bathroom and my feet were filthy, too. Made everyone keep shoes on during 2nd stay. Also, they make you give a $25 deposit that you only get back if you turn in the receipt..... this is for "incidentals".... WHAT??? There is not even a phone in the room. NOT worth the cheap rate...... not worth $10. I will sleep in my car next time before sleeping here.

Then we get to the room and omg! The floor on the way to the room was filthy, the window ledges in the stairwell were covered with trash, there were holes cut into the walls in the hallway, and all this before we got to the room. In the room someone had used the toilet and didn't bother to flush, the soap chips looked used even though they were sealed in packages, the shampoo/conditioner were a joke, the mattresses were still in plastic wrap even though they had to be older than ten years, the sheets were too small and popped off the minute you sat on the bed, gum was stuck to the head board, the vent on the a/c was broken and the tv was a joke! Let's not forget the weed that was being smoked by our neighbor and blown through the vent system. I got a major headache from that. Oh and the breakfast is freezer biscuits and gravy and packaged honey buns. The coffee was good though. The only bright part of this hotel was the night shift clerk, Ed. He was very kind, funny and eager to please. The manager could take lessons from him.

This is the third Econolodge we have stayed in. It was under the standard of the other Econolodges we had stayed in, which we found to be lovely for the price. Whilst the room itself was clean, the corridor and stairs were very dirty which set the tone of the hotel as poor. The bed was comfy so that was fine. We chose this hotel on price and proximity to the highway as we were driving back to MSY airport. I would pay a dollar or 2 more next time and try another budget hotel. There were plenty of others next to it that I would give a go next time.

I was not pleased with the bed in the room. It was not comfortable and felt like I was sleeping on springs with a very little padding. It was also low to the floor. The bathroom was not very clean and I did not feel like taking a shower in it. We ran out of toilet paper by morning. I will not book this location again. The first night was okay. I booked the room for $40 so you don't really have high hopes for over the top service. However the second night? I was eaten up with bites. I never did see what bug it was that was using me as a midnight snack but when I saw covered in bites, I am covered in bites. I stopped counting at 8. And they aren't small either. I showed them to the front desk and ...? No offer to move me to another room (which was fine because I checked out!), no offer to comp me that night. Nothing.

We chose this hotel based on the price and a rating of 3 out of 5. As we drove up we noticed that the Econo Lodge road signed had been popped out. The pool was full of green algae water and closed for "renovation”. As we walked into the hotel, there was a terrible smell of cigarette smoke. The room had a mildew smell. The room was listed as a "king suite", but in reality it was a regular room with the king size bed pushed a foot away from the wall with a sofa sleeper that came right up to the bed when pulled out. We had to call for extra sheets. The phone did not work. I walked to the front desk to ask for extra bedding (which was in short supply) and found out that the switchboard was not working. So no phones for anyone. There seemed to be a shortage on toilette paper, linens and towels. The extra blanket they brought up was covered in cigarette burns. There were small holes all over the curtain also. I found hair on the sheets of the made up bed as well as on the shower wall. The first night we came back around 6:30 PM and the maid was coming out of the bedroom... at 6:30 pm?!? The last night we came back around 7:30 PM and our door had been left open by the maid. The bedding was never changed, floor never vacuumed, but she did bring fresh towels. With all this said, Hotels.com did a great job compensating us for the trouble.

The hotel had comfortable bed and was good enough clean. 2 minutes off I-10 and 15 from the beach. Not bad for the price. The refrigerator run off the light switch, so you need to have the light switch on to run it.

Besides the carpet the cleanliness of the room was OK, but the room service did not do a very good job, not even resupply toilet paper that was out. Fridge and microwave are $5 each per day, and need to be brought into the room during business hours.

Horrible, will never go back again. The room was dirty, no microwave or refrigerator. I was there for three days and the room was never cleaned. I had to ask for toilet paper, overall it was bad and what really got me mad was that I asked for an early check in and after they guarantee it I still had to wait because the rooms were not cleaned.

The bed was not comfortable. The bathroom walls were deteriorating near the baseboards. Though there was fresh paint, the walls weren't fixed. The phones were dead. The window and the interstate were only spearated by a row of bushes, so the noise level was really bad. The free continental breakfast was the smallest I've ever seen. Basically, bagles, coffee, and little else. Though our room was non-smoking room, smoke from other areas could still be smelled.

The hotel was under construction and the phone service was completely out of order. No messages were able to be delivered--even by the front desk staff. The shower was not appealing--room was not cleaned satisfactorily. Would not recommend the hotel nor the neighborhood.

The kind bed had a comfortable foam mattress. Not sure if all rooms do. Some rooms are much worse than others. It appears problems are not repaired - One room down the hall had the lock and door handle broken out and not repaired. If you are picky at all I would not stay here! We called ahead and asked for a good room so we saw one of the best. 213. First floor is non smoking and 3rd is smoking and 2nd floor isn't used as much they said. I would not stay again.

It would have been good if I could have used the back exit, instead I to walk all the way down the hall, down three flights of stairs, and out the lobby to go anywhere, when there was a back exit right by the stairs outside of my room. Also, there wasn't an ice machine on any of the floors, only in the lobby.

Hotel is located in a very depressed and somewhat dangerous part of town. Other lodgers were loitering outside rooms and gave off an air of threat. Found a live tick on the wall of the room. Took several minutes for hot water to arrive in the shower. Would definitely not stay there again.

Very confusing to find. There are so many neighboring hotels and this one does not have a very good sign you you think that maybe it changed over names and you walk into another hotel checking to see if that is the same hotel. The front office lady was very nice and my bathroom was clean. The floor in the hallway and my room needed vacuumed. The wi-fi was not secured but did work. The bed was VERY uncomfortable.

If you like your bed on top of 2x4's instead of a traditional bed frame, then this would be a good choice motel.

You definately get what you pay for with this place. The floors in the halls looke like they are never vacuumed and the floors in the rooms turned our feet black. The rooms are old and in poor repair. Also, the hotel web site said that you had to ask for a fridge or microwave, but when we got there it turned out that you have to pay extra for each. The hotel website also said that they served a continental breakfast which they do not. To end this post when we got home we thoroughly washed all of our things that went in that place. It definately was cheap.
