Courtyard by Marriott Houston Pearland

I have used Expedia many times to make hotel reservations and have never experienced this issue before. The staff repeatedly insisted that the payment had not been received, which created an uncomfortable and stressful situation after a long day of travel. To be clear, my complaint is not about Expedia. My concern is with the way the hotel handled the situation and communicated with me. I believe the matter should have been addressed more professionally and without placing the burden on the guest. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Our experience was very disappointing for this to be a Marriott. First of all our room was not as clean as it should have been. The room smelled like mildew. There was hair on our bathroom wall in the shower. The refrigerator was being held up by a dirty rag. Dust everywhere. Then we had an issue where the handle fell off the toilet. We left our hotel around noon and told someone was going to fix it. When we came back around 9 PM, it appeared to be fixed, but it was not. The handle fell right off. We called the night manager who tried to fix it, but could not. She called the maintenance guy to come in; I could hear his attitude. In the meantime, we were asked to stick our hand in the back of the toilet to flush it if we needed to use it. NO WAY! She did try to make things better by offering us complementary breakfast in the restaurant, but it was for nothing that we wanted. She also bought us a bag of drinks from the hotel shop. I would’ve been appreciative of it if it wasn’t for the fact that we all needed to use the restroom and it was 10 o’clock at night. My kids fell asleep. The maintenance guy didn’t show up until about 10:15 and when I opened the door and said hello, he said “what up” and walked in. No introduction. He was in the bathroom for about 3 minutes, then said, “have a good night” and let the door slam as he left out. No apologies or anything and woke my kids. The night did get comped for, but I still will not go back to this hotel. Not worth it at all.

In an outdoor mall that's full of shopping and restaurants, but be advised, the whole thing pretty much shuts down at 9. Only a few restaurants remain open, and the hotel breakfast is very weak. Not a great hotel for food.

I was told I could check in early as I requested in advance but when I arrived the rooms were not ready. After 2hrs the rooms were finally ready but the refrigerator in one room didn't work neither did the ice maker on my floor.

Had an issue with our room, Nikki was very sympathetic and accomodating. I really appreciate the time she took to help us out after us traveling so far. Great manager and we will definitely be back if these are the type of employees working here! THANK YOU Nikki!

I booked this hotel because it was a convenient location to restaurants and shopping. The staff was extremely nice, however the hotel is in desperate need of an update. The carpeting in the hallways was disgusting, smelled mold and mildew. With the humidity in Texas you would think they would not have it at all?! Also, the pool was full of termites along with the hot tub which was very green and run down.

It is located near all the stores It had a bad smell moved rooms twice and it smells like mildew. Then when I noticed during check out I left my mom and I coats and they disappeared. Everything was great except that you can hear the people next to you clearly - alarms, tv, talking. A complaint by several of us staying there.

The shower didn’t get hot on a cool night. Kitchen wasn’t open due to holidays which was a big let down. You would think that’s a reason to be open due to people staying from out of town for the holidays would at least want a hot meal. I appreciated having access to hot coffee I could make to my taste at late hours or early mornings, away with Starbucks.

The first day, we were tired and never heard the knock for housekeeping. So when we did leave the hotel and returned late, we were surprised that we did not receive room service. The second day, we did hear the knock as we were getting ready to leave in the afternoon. We told the cleaning lady that we were leaving in 20 minutes. We asked if she could come back when we left the hotel in 20 mins, her response was yes. We then received a call approximately 5 minutes later telling us that the cleaning staff were knocking off. We deferred having our room serviced for a second time. I did enquire at the front desk and was told that I could let them know what was a good time to clean. I have never had this experience before. Nonetheless, we agreed and asked that our towels get replenished and requested a 10:30/11:00a.m., cleaning. The next day we get ready to leave early, despite wanting to sleep in and relax and decide to take advantage of the hotel restaurant, which was scheduled to close at 11:00 a.m. I was 11:46 a.am., when we exited the elevator. A lady was at the counter and was quick to inform us that the restaurant was closed and the grill had already been turned off. I asked her if she had anything that did not need to go on the grill. Room was a little lived in. Nightstand light won’t work unless overhead light and switch was on. Chair cushion was worn and un kept. Toilet kept running after every flush, but breakfast was absolutely amazing. Best hotel breakfast I’ve had in my life. This was on Xmas day. So normal days must top that with full staff.

Everything was good, my only complaint was the scent of whatever was used to freshen the room was a really strong cinnamon smell which I don’t like. Other than that everything was good. The location of this hotel is great. So much shopping and food.

The water pressure was non existent and everything felt damp from the humidity. The room layout was weird because the tv was off to the side and uncomfortable to watch from the bed. The lobby and lower entrance has really strong smelling “air freshener” that gives you a headache. Same for the smell in the room, they use something that makes you have a headache.

I brought my own instant coffee and water. They have a microwave and small fridge. I did not use the coffee pot in room. There was no cell phone plug in like most hotels have by the bed only normal socket which I don’t have so that was bummer

Its the perfect location when the Otaku Food Festival host their event at the Pearl Town Center. The pool is kept up and cleaned. The receptionist have great communication and very friendly. Our room was vary spacious with comfortable bed. We were there for 2 days. Nothing to dislike at that moment.

The hotel is overpriced for what it offers the lack of coffee and coffee essentials in the room that were cheap. didn’t have enough towels. That towels were very used and rough, hot water was an issue and the plug ins are attached to switch’s

It was the first hotel I’ve stayed in in a long time that did not provide at least one complimentary water bottle….and there was not a drink dispenser next to the ice machine where you could purchase water. Being a solo female traveler and the reception area being on the second floor made dealing with luggage difficult after parking my car.

The air in the room was a bit stale without the air conditioner. Not horrible.

Location The property was not the problem it was the stay I stayed 6 nights = 3 rooms 1 st room was on 4th flr - people above us decided to wake up at 5:30am to exercise, that afternoon I requested another room since his stay was a long one as well. 2 nd room was on the 5th flr - I had to work remote tried to connect to the free WiFi kept dropping and disconnecting, the next day I asked for wifi support and the service guy came and just said we needed to move to 4th flr for good WiFi. I even upgraded the WiFi on all 4 devices I had still didn’t work. 3rd room all was going well until one morning the room next to us decided to do rated things to which the sounds were penetrating through packed it up and checked out! Staff was friendly and compassionate about the things that I was encountering the Starbucks Bar evening staff was not so friendly. Even my 12 year old daughter noticed the attitude.

Comfy bed very spacious room. I was told it was a restaurant, pool and spa. Either one of these were offered. It was my best friend 50th birthday and I drove from Kansas to suprise her with a Spa treatment and breakfast.

The bathroom was a little dated & the carpet had a slight odor. I barely stayed at the hotel only to sleep, shower & utilize the gym - so wasn’t really bothered by it. Overall, the location & the amenities offered was a plus. It was right within the Pearland Towne plaza so access to several stores & eatery. Was able to walk down to the lobby & grab my Starbucks coffee daily, so that was a plus. I’ll definitely recommend & possibly stay again in the near future, as I visit that area often.

1. There was no room safe as advertised on your 3rd party website Hotels.com. 2. Our friends had various complaints. It was too noisy, The Ice Machine. The elevator next to one room noisy. No breakfast included. 3. It was clean and comfortable. And my room was quiet. I would stay there again but don’t think my friends will.

The stay was great. the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed the close vicinity to shopping and being able to walk around and enjoy the outdoor activities in the area. The location was easy to venture from and back too.

Another day we needed a working iron and they brought up a new one/ Cleaning of the rooms looks like it’s only done maybe 3x in a week stay but we had no major issues. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 7am, waking us up. A while later they came back and opened our door without knocking and nearly walked in on me undressed right out of the shower. The front desk offered us late check-out for our troubles.

It was nicely decorated, had a great little bar area and offered a nice snack/dinner menu. The loaded tots are amazing by the way. The room was just as nice as the lobby area. I would recommend this hotel. The price for what you get was almost too good to be true. We stayed New Year's Eve night and only paid $120 for the room. I would have expected at least double for as nice as it was.

No mirrors in the room made it difficult to get ready . We were there for a wedding and only mirror was inside the bathroom door , which could only be used from inside when the door was closed.

The hotel is depressing. The photos are misleading. The carpet is si old and dirty looking. The lightning was horrible. The room was super small. The furniture us out dated. There was a homeless person whi appeared ti be on drugs outside. I would definitely not recommend.

I had such a wonderful stay at the Courtyard Marriott in the Pearland Towncenter! The front desk staff was absolutely amazing hands down!!! They were extremely courteous and kind! They were very informative about our stay and very welcoming anytime we had a question. The room was very nice, clean as well as cozy! The sofa bed was not comfortable at all and needs to be upgraded. The bed could have been more comfortable and there was a not such a pleasant smell on my pill. It may have been the detergent that was used to wash the lien. The decor in the lobby was absolutely amazing for Christmas and the Bistro was very nice and intimate. There was an area right outside of the Bistro were you could plug your electrics such as laptops, tables, cellular devices etc. My family and I sat in that area for a little while and enjoyed the ambience! There was a beautiful Christmas festival that was going on in the town center that we attended, and I love the fact that when you walk out of the hotel, you are right in the town center. We had dinner and were able to shop and did not have to drive because we were in the center of the attractions. The outside terrace was very nice as well. Very peaceful and tranquil! I highly recommend anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable place to stay, to choose the Courtyard Marriott in the Pearland Town Center!

When in town we book here for the convenience of having access to shops and restaurants but the property itself is goong down. It definitely need some work and upgrades. I hope the owner sees this and invest in his property. Its time for a facelift.

When in town we book here for the convenience of having access to shops and restaurants but the property itself is goong down. It definitely need some work and upgrades. I hope the owner sees this and invest in his property. Its time for a facelift.

Took the 3rd room transfer and last night of stay before finding a room without a “basement” type odor. The second room had ants crawling as well. However, we were given a complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience.

The property canceled our reservation and rebooked our room to someone else. We had a confirmation and proof of who we spoke to for the reservation and they canceled it anyway. Very disappointed in the service despite being a bonvoy member. DO NOT BOOK HERE.

How close to shopping and eatery

Chose this hotel after being cancelled by a different one just 1 week prior to my stay. Didn't know anything about the area. I was not disappointed! Everything we needed that night was a mile or less from the hotel and we just scratched the surface. I require a feather free room due to allergies and it was an easy accommodation. Staff was wonderful from my first phone call through check out. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall a Good Stay. My room water pressure in the bathroom was extremely low.

Had an excellent stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was as nice and accommodating as can be, the cafe had a good variety of food and drinks and it was situated within walking distance to a variety of retail stores. Definitely recommend and definitely will stay there again.

I have stayed at this property several times. I like the location and the convenience of the outdoor mall by the hotel

We were in room 521. The toilet did not work the entire time we were there. A very nice maintenance worker was unable to fix it. The toilets are OLD.

Part of an outside mall with shops and restaurants. Very walkable. We had an issue on the last night of our stay which the hotel couldn’t fix and didn’t compensate for the issue. Expected better from a name brand hotel.

My room type was changed without notification. Told the hotel wasn't responsible for 3rd party bookings

The room had a dingy musty smell as soon as you open the door. I moved one of the night stand a tiny bit so I could reach a plug and there was so much dust, you could tell they had not vacuumed those corners in a very long time. The elevator was not working and when we would ask the attendant she would just say she didn’t know anything so just take the stairs. She failed to tell us that one set of stairs led you out to an alley in the direction of another building and to get back in to the hotel would require you going all the way back around because there was no reentry.

I then asked for if they had complimentary water, he responded "no we don't do that". I mentioned, we have gotten complimentary small water bottles in past stays, and he said in an argumentative manner "no you haven't, we've never done that". At this point, I was baffled and tired, that I didn't feel like arguing with him, so I just took my key and told him to have a good night. There was no response. This is the first time I have a bad experience with customer service at this hotel. Everyone is usually pleasant and professional, no matter the check in time. I know Marriott hotels have high standards and this employee is not the representation of the services Marriott strives to provide. I hope you can provide education and counseling on this employee. Thank you

The bed was comfy. A nice shopping center is in walking distance.

i booked 2 nights at this property, after realizing that due to a later than expected arrival due to a change in my flight, i called the hotel to advise them that i would be arriving on thursday morning as opposed to Wednesday. i did this specifically because i did not want my reservation to be cancelled and also when i arrived i needed a few hours sleep before a meeting. to my dismay upon arrival my room was not available as they had re sold my room. when i advised of the steps i took to avoid this i was told to take it up with expedia. this sums up my experience at the marriot pearland, uncaring........

All was good. My only complaint was there were times where the shower water was very hot or lukewarm, on the way to cold. Other than that, my stay was sufficient. I would stay again.
