Reviews
Guests generally have a positive experience at the hotel, appreciating the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and great location. However, there are recurring issues with the elevators, slow service in the restaurants, and understaffing. Some guests also express disappointment with the quality of the rooms and amenities, given the hotel's brand and price point.

The Hotel itself has a cool modern vibe and looks like it’s been remodeled recently. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was a little small but other than that, a great stay. We’ll definitely stay here again when in Pasadena!

Food and service were great
- 4/5
Clean newly remodeled hotel. Great bed, not too soft, self prepare coffee and fridge in the room. Loved the self pay snack shop by the lobby. Great selection of snacks and drinks. Beautiful pool and would have been a five star rating but we had problems getting someone to put the umbrellas up during the hot afternoons and they need to have a staff person pick up the pool area on a regular basis. I plan on returning when I am next in the Pasadena area.

This is my husband and I second time staying here and we are again so impressed with everything about this hotel. The rooms are clean, bed is beyond comfortable, the bar quirky and fun, front desk helpful, and the area in the city beautiful. This will remain as our staycation always.
- 5/5
Hotel is right beside the convention center. Lovely lobby. Good vibes. Room was comfy. Very convenient to Old Town restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
- 3/5
Evening room service was quite limited. We did not have a microwave in our room. Paid for a mobility assist room but the bathroom had a tub and not a walk-in shower. No one available to assist with luggage at all.

We highly recommend this. Hotel.

The property itself is dated but generally clean and well-maintained. However, the hallways leading to our second-floor room had an old, stuffy odor, and unfortunately the same stagnant smell was noticeable when we first entered the room. We ended up keeping the air conditioning running all night to help circulate the air and make the room more comfortable. The room had some maintenance issues. While the balcony was a nice feature, the sliding door did not lock securely. Additionally, the blackout curtains were not functioning properly and could not be opened or closed as intended. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable, and we slept well once the room aired out. The hotel bar closed before 11 p.m., it was Tues. We also dined at Lyric restaurant, which was clean and welcoming. The staff there were excellent. Maria stood out in particular—she took the time to engage with us, ask about our stay, and have a genuinely pleasant conversation. She was warm, friendly, and very helpful. Our other server was wonderful as well, though unfortunately I cannot recall her name. Both contributed to a positive dining experience. Overall, while the hotel could benefit from updates and better attention to room maintenance and ventilation, the friendly staff, comfortable bed, and positive experience at Lyric helped make the stay enjoyable.

It was a relatively clean place, the biggest factor of our review was the AC unit totally sucked. When we called the front desk they sent a technician but he only looked at the AC for 2 minutes and told us the temperature was too low and that’s why it wasn’t working but he didn’t fix anything :(

Nice hotel, however did lack a few amenities. No microwaves in the room, no laundry area in the hotel, and the in house parking fee of $36 a night was not listed in the description.
- 4.5/5
Facilities are nice and 90% clean Carper is starting to be dirty and to smell . I think charging 35 dollar for parking is not correct I think is taking advantage and forcing basically everyone to pay.
- 4/5
I want to start with the fact that management took care of this correctly and immediately. My lower review comes from that it occurred in the first place. And that the woman at the front desk, unfortunately wasn't any manner of helpful. She was dismissive and truthfully rude. She kind of laughed at me when I told her about it, but when I showed her the picture she jumped and said "I don't want to see that." It was just odd. But once management heard about it, everything was handled. Eco lab arrived.

Hotel was nice. They didn’t specify the parking you have to pay for every night $36 the agent at the front desk stated it was a one time fee and it would come out of $100 deposit instead they took $72 for our stay. This is seriously a scam why are you being charged to pay when you are paid/book your stay. There’s no fans in bathroom nor microwave.

The location was definitely the biggest advantage of this hotel. It was very walkable to Old Pasadena, Lake Avenue, and the convention center, which made our seven-night stay very convenient. The price was also reasonable compared to other Pasadena hotels during Memorial Day weekend. Housekeeping was responsive with bottled water requests, and we enjoyed some of the quirky vintage decor and movie memorabilia throughout the property. My spouse especially liked the classic Rolls Royce displayed outside. The hotel feels somewhat dated and could benefit from renovation. Our room had a slight musty odor during the stay, and the pillows provided very little support. The mattress was also too soft for one of us. Breakfast service was inconsistent depending on the staff member working. Our room overlooked nearby apartments across a narrow driveway, so we did not feel very comfortable opening the windows fully for fresh air.

Bed was comfortable and in-room Coffee was good - Starbucks. Coffee could be improved by having creamers instead of those powder packets. Renovated bathroom was good with a nice, Strong showerhead spray. Large underground parking garage. Breakfast was good, especially a very nice and generously sizedfresh fruit bowl but more expensive than it should’ve been. Oatmeal was $15 and another $15 for the fruit bowl.

I got there early and they were very nice and gave us the room.

Great property. if you're thinking about bringing kids use discretion. Patrons seem to be younger adults with a party mentality, but not rowdy.

The room and overall property was amazing. The staff was top notch and restaurant was great, not to mention the surrounding area which was outstanding as well
- 4/5
This hotel is well located but it is quite long in the tooth and does reflect the wear and tear of being connected to a convention center. We stayed for 4 nights in a very dark room on the 2 nd floor. There were two nights when the room above us was quite noisy, the AC system was loud and not terribly efficient but it was the awful smell in the lobby that made me wonder if anyone is actually paying attention to the air circulating system in this place. It was a sewer type smell and believe me you couldn’t avoid it anytime you walked by the front desk. They had a blower going the whole time we were there. The hotel has brighter floors, perhaps even fresher feeling rooms, but we were not in that circumstance during our stay. Again, I found the staff to be friendly but the overall ambience was definitely off-putting considering the price we paid for our stay.

Not a 4 star hotel, more like 3 star. Looked like a converted old hotel they tried to be boutique but AC was outdated. It was so loud sleeping at night with it, you can hear the neighbors because walls are thin. Bathroom is sub par.
- 5/5
Great place to stay when attending an event at the convention center. Be sure to check in on time.
- 5/5
We only stayed one night, but the office manager was excellent, very efficient and helpful. We traveled with our dog, and the $50 pet fee was straightforward and easy to manage. Parking was also convenient for our oversized vehicle, since it was too tall for the garage.

This is a great hotel; my family's experience was great from the receptionist to the breakfast staff. Though I have to inform you that the scrambled eggs were dry when we got them. The rest of the food was great.

Clean and very nice room .staff was nice . Pool was relaxing.
- 3/5
Great location and the facilities are clean. Overall the stay was not impressive in a positive way. Booked a double queen suit and had a nice view of the roof. Television was not working during the Final Four tournament. The restaurant bar portions are incredibly skimpy. Do not expect a response if you are asking for an early or late check-in or out. Shared 3 $36. night parking with the convention center.
- 4/5
A very clean hotel at a reasonable price
- 4.5/5
The room was very clean and attractive. Location was perfect for a work meeting I was attending in Pasadena. The hotel was lovely and the young lady who checked me in was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I guess everyone loves soft beds but me, that was the only thing I really didn't like. I like a medium/firm bed and the bed was so soft my back was killing me the next day. Well, I also would have liked to turn on the bathroom light, as a night light, but it was on a timer. So, I didn't like that but I found a work around.

The location, parking, staff and amenities of this hotel are great!! It is the only place I stay when I travel there.

AC Not working properly. Room at 89F!
- 2.5/5
Really cool design elements. There was trash up and down the halls. It was hot and no water was in the room. And water in their store was outrageously priced. It was loud both early in the morning and late at night and guests were loud in the hallways. Chemical air fresheners were used in the lobby.

Great location, a short walk to the Main Street in Pasadena. Comfortable beds, roomy rooms, nice big TV’s. Thin walls, could hear my neighbors talking loudly.
- 4/5
A/C seemed to shut off too frequently. Location was great!
- 5/5
We didn’t use the pool. It looked smallish but nice. Parking is a bit pricey. The location was perfect…central and all kinds of good restaurants and shops near by. All in all a very comfortable stay.
- 3/5
Light switches were opposite of what would be useful. Pillows were like half the filling was missing. Bathroom sink took real muscle to turn on the cold water and a little mirror would not stay be the wall and would swing out and over the hot water spigot meaning you had to hold it out of the way to turn the hot water on and off. Pretty funky. Nice place but a serious lack of attention to detail.
- 3.5/5
Bed was super comfortable and staff was friendly. AC units were loud! I was worried I’d sleep through my alarm because the ac drowning out the noise. There was makeup buildup on the hair dryer. Gross! My phone only worked on speaker phone.
- 3.5/5
I liked the overall vibe, staff and accommodations. The AC was not working when we first arrived. They sent someone to fix it. However, we discovered the next day that the light around the mirror and the outlets in the bathroom were not working. When we went to check out, I told the front desk and no discount, etc. was offered for our inconvenience.

Lyrics Restaurant not a great experience. Food was good, but servers didn’t seem to enjoy their jobs and some side items came out later than main course. No Concierge and front desk not aware of where grocers, drug stores, or popular dining spots were.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and nice. The happy hour was fun! The parking was expensive and all fees really added up. It was a local boutique hotel that had a lot of interesting features. I would recommend to anyone interested in a good hotel in Pasadena!

I did not like the fact that they charged for overnight parking which was $36. I don’t remember seeing that anywhere when I made the reservations. That was very disappointing.
- 4.5/5
Comfortable room, clean, cool vibe music playing on hotel speakers kept me from napping while I was not feeling well. I talked to the front desk about this and they turned it down.
- 4/5
Didn’t have time to experience the pool

Great decorations in lobby and room was clean and big enough. Also the margaritas in the bar were perfection. Thank you.
- 2/5
I couldn’t have asked for a nicer, more attentive staff. Unfortunately there were some not so great things otherwise—my key didn’t work upon arrival and required two people to intervene, my bathroom was missing towels and wasn’t properly stocked upon arrival, the tv didn’t work and clearly was a chronic issue… nothing major but kinda annoying.

The Hotel and staff were fabulous!! Our only problem was with the bar/restaurant were terrible. Understaffed leadibg to poor service. The appetizer, a gooey cheese dish, was not as described in the menu. When we questioned why the dish didn't come with salsas, we were told dish had been changed??? The dish needed the salsa. We were going to order entrees, but with a so so app and not service, we paid the bill at the bar and left.

The room had an unimpressive view of a flat rooftop between two concrete walls. We were right by the elevator and the maids closet. It was very noisy especially in the morning with the doors closing and the elevator humming. The cleaning crew did a very poor job. We had a do not disturb sign out one morning which was removed before lunchtime and the crew did not return to clean. The staff made us feel it was our fault for having the placard up. As we checked out we overheard another guest complaining about the cleaning crew and what a poor job they did. The cabinet in the room had a door that kept coming off the hinges. Towels were not easily accessible when showering (no towel bars or pegs to hang them close to the shower) They should have grab bars in the shower area for safety. Very disappointing!

The front desk check in was a disaster. The girl checked us into the wrong room, only to be discovered 4 hours later and the manager on duty blamed us. He then continued to be extremely rude and condescending even though he admitted that it was the hotels fault. We had to move after we unpacked and even took a nap.

Nice clean hotel within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Customer service needs improvement. When we arrived, the woman who checked us in was very rude. She didn’t smile or greet us. When we had questions about overnight parking, she looked visibly annoyed and rolled her eyes as she answered our questions. She did not explain the accommodations - WiFi info, restaurant hours, where the pool is located, check out time, etc. The front staff needs retraining. The parking attendants were also not very nice. I would stay again if they retrain their staff and improve customer service.

Beds were comfortable and nice bathroom. I loved the design of the room with the 2 levels. Loved the huge windows and patio doors to let the light and fresh air in. The patio itself could’ve been a little more warm and inviting. It was a shared patio area with room next door. That room was unoccupied and was being worked on. The room being worked on had the curtains wide open with the lights on, carpets pulled up and a fan blowing. It kind of spoiled sitting on the patio outside of our room since you could see inside the room being worked on (even though no worker was in there) which made it kind of creepy.

We had a clear choice between the Hotel Dena and the Hilton Pasadena when we booked our stay through Expedia. In the end I decided on the Dena and ended up wishing we had chosen the Hilton instead. All in all a really really disappointing stay. I have booked many trips over the years through Expedia but I fear this will be my last one.

Originally, we looked into renting a house, but the cost was prohibitive. Hotel Dena ended up being the perfect solution—it had all the amenities we wanted (pool, great communal spaces, and an unbeatable location), and it was far more affordable. Renting three rooms here was significantly cheaper than a house share, and honestly, a better experience. Customer service really stood out right away. When our suite wasn’t ready at check-in, the front desk upgraded us for free, which immediately set the tone for the stay. The suite itself was enormous, with a full living room and a huge bedroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable with luxurious bedding, and the bathroom was spotless, spacious, and well-lit, with excellent water pressure in the shower—details that truly matter. We ate breakfast every morning at Lyric, and they graciously accommodated our large group each day. The service was friendly and efficient, and most importantly, the food was outstanding. Truly some of the best hotel food I’ve ever had. Since it was Christmas, we decided to do our gift exchange at the hotel bar, Agents Only, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. The vibe is ro

The people were very nice and we have stayed at the Dena before. The room they gave us this time was postage stamp size. Seems like a room that would be saved for late check-ins. So tight. I like the location but too bad they saw Hotels reservation and down graded us. As a Marriott they should be trying to please all customers.

Room was spotless. Staff was great. A lovely experience.

The bed was comfortable to the point I wanted to sleep in.
- 3/5
The patio shot on Expedia was nothing like what we received. It was dungeon like and we never even went out there. We took pics but dont know how to attach here.
- 4/5
Hotel was great! Restaurants in the hotel were fantastic. One negative comment was that old glasses and trash was left in the room. Did not love that.
- 4/5
Dj was really load when I was trying to sleep.
- 5/5
The room was great and Amber at the front desk was amazing to work with!
- 5/5
It was clean.
- 3/5
Spotty room cleaning. Not great service in the dining room.
- 3/5
Air condition unit is loud. $30/night parking is crazy. Internet connection is not available unless you booked directly with Marriot, is insane. Not worth the money, especially the loud, worn down AC unit. The AC unit looks like the units from old motel or apartment.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
The staff were very nice! Especially the waiter at the breakfast spot.
- 3/5
Housekeeping entered room even though we requested them not to. I paid more to have the patio only to realize it was a sheared patio with eveyone else with no privacy and no seating to enjoy the patio. The room was very musty. Other than that, I loved the location being right at the convention center.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Very clean room. I wish the mattress would have been firmer rather than a marshmallow!!

Room on very small size. Shower did not have grab bars and shower floor was smooth stone(marble?). Missed bed cleanup one day during four day stay although we did get towels delivered (we had a do-not-disturb sign to 11 AM but removed thereafter). No towels left another day, but staff delivered a set after call. At start of stay, refrigerator did not allow closet to open but was later resolved by staff. Dining options limited, expensive but satisfactory.

We had to change rooms twice. The first room we were given smelled like very heavy cigar smoke although we tried to to disregard the cigar smoke in the restroom it only made it worse when we showered, and there was no ventilation. We changed rooms and the restroom lights didn’t work in the second roomand they did not have the bulbs. It was such a random experience, not what we were anticipating

It's the second time I've been staying at this Hotel and for the second time, they didn't have my reservation that I made through Expedia in their system. The lady at check in was completely overwhelmed and seemed incompetent on how to solve the situation. It took her 48 minutes to check me in at 10pm at night, after 8 hours of traveling prior. Never again !!

The hotel is well-located in terms of convenience to downtown Pasadena, but the service was terrible. When we entered our room, we found that there was no hand soap in the bathroom, no ice bucket, no cups for coffee, and only 3 pillows. We called to ask them to bring these things and they never did. When we discovered that there were no coffee cups in the room, we went downstairs to what we assumed was a complementary coffee service. There was none. Our room was never cleaned, and when we asked about that, they responded that it was their "policy" to clean rooms only every 3 days. This means that during our entire stay, we came back to the hotel to find an unmade bed, wet towels and bath mat--just depressing. We'll never go there again.
- 5/5
Property and the room were clean, comfortable bed, spacious room. Bathroom door opened awkwardly into the bedroom or blocking the walkway (instead of opening toward the front door to the room), so it was dangerous trying to walk over at night in the dark. Also no fan in the bathrooms so humidity and odors hung around. But these are minor. Everything else was fantastic. Location was great, right next to the convention center, plenty of parking and easy access. Didn't eat breakfast.
- 5/5
Interesting vibe, comfortable room with everything in great condition. Heated outdoor pool was nice. Conveniently located a few blocks from the Delmar Metro station in Pasadena.
- 5/5
Management was very accommodating. Great location.

Can’t believe that you had to choose between coffee or orange juice for a $26 breakfast !!!

Lovely hotel in great location
- 4/5
There were pubic hairs and long hairs in my shower. They were nice and had someone come clean it but I couldn’t shower before my event.
- 2/5
it's a pet friendly place, our dog barked when our room service knocked on the door, and another guest immediately screamed "SHUT UPPPPP." Housekeeping also didn't come in when we were gone, there were spiders in the room, and when I had ordered food I had asked if front desk would be able to bring it up (I understand the driver can't as that's a security breach), but they assured me front desk could bring it up as I would be starting a meeting. Front desk proceeded to then tell me they would not be bringing it up. Overall just not a great experience, especially for the money that we spent.
- 5/5
Great set-up - very spacious and perfect location. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
The weight room was lacking which is very important to my stay places.
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was great!
- 5/5
We have stayed here twice in 12 months and love it. Great food, comfy beds and perfect location. Waiting staff very friendly.
- 2/5
The room was small, had no comfortable chair, nor counter space in bathroom, very lumpy pillows, noisy AC and loud partying one night. Bedside lamps had difficult to find light switch in dark. Food was expensive and no snacks were available to buy.
- 4/5
Very kind staff. Except for the person that checked us in. They did not provode us with the information necessary (amenities etc)
- 5/5
Well located in Old Town Pasadena
- 2/5
The room was not clean and some other area of the facilities as well. We have received dirty towels, stains on the walls and carpet. The rooms are not sound proof, you can hear everything from the other rooms
- 3/5
I did love the convenient little self checkout lobby market that was fully stocked. And parking was easy albeit expensive at like $30 per night.
- 5/5
Daily housekeeping. REALLY convenient to everything, but VERY QUIET (recessed from the street).
- 5/5
I stayed here for one night while attending a conference at the Pasadena Convention Center. It shares the same parking garage and is super handy. The staff were awesome. Very friendly and efficient. Rosie at breakfast was the best. She was quick, nice and efficient. I got a great night sleep and an amazing breakfast! Will definitely stay again.
- 4/5
Stayed in a suite that could use a little updating, but it was clean and comfortable. Plenty of space to work separate from the sleeping area.
- 5/5
Hotel staff was great and accommodating to our needs. Room was clean and comfortable.
- 3/5
While this hotel was fine, I don’t think it was worth what they charge for a night. The rooms and bathrooms are small. We had a patio room and the patio looks much nicer in the pictures vs. real life. Only two sets of towels for a reservation of 4 and not enough pillows. Slow response times when requested. No place to grab a coffee on the morning. The staff was lovely though.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and quiet, suitable for working in the room or resting between gigs.
- 5/5
Excelente
- 5/5
The staff from check in to check out were top notch I liked that everyone was very helpful and the place was very easy to get from one area to another The only thing I would have liked to have heard alittle more music outside at the pool
- 2/5
Thin walls. Noisy and could hear music in the halls.
- 4/5
The hotel seemed pretty rundown
- 5/5
Location was very convenient. Definitely will stay here again.

The throngs of young, rude and noisy AGT participants were a real "pain-in-the-ass".
- 5/5
Clean room, good location, simple hotel
- 5/5
The room was immaculate, loved our stay, and will be back for sure.
- 4/5
My room did not look like the photos. It was older but clean.
- 3/5
Elevator wait times were too long, restaurant for lunch staff not incredibly attentive, room overlooked a dirty roof and the hotel was really noisy in the hallways
- 2/5
Don't waste your time or money. This is really a 3rd rate property.
- 5/5
It was a very nice hotel, to say the least! You won’t be upset, well maybe the parking was a little frustrating but not a big enough deal to upset my stay! 🙌🙏
- 5/5
The beds were really comfortable. The room was quiet. Staff was friendly.
- 3/5
My room didn’t seem clean. There was a dirty cup in the seating area (suite seemingly)
- 5/5
We were staying in Pasadena for the weekend to attend the Oasis gig at the Rose Bowl. Hotel is very modern and clean and in an excellent location to explore Old Padadena and to get to the Rose bowl shuttle. Nice pool and bar area. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would stay here again for sure.
- 5/5
The staff at the front desk was super helpful during check in. I was in a room with an adjoined door and at one point my neighbor did try opening the door and rattled the doorknob, but that's really not the hotels fault - the other guest probably just didn't know what the door led to. So just be aware that some of the first floor two level suites are adjouined. The outdoor patio was super cute and a nice place to go sit and have coffee in the morning! The pool is RIGHT above the recessed patio so it's a little awkward having the curtains open during the day, but for the price and the unique kitschy look & feel, I have no complaints.
- 2/5
I booked a room with two queen beds and a patio. You can only go unto the patio during the day because there are no lights at night! There are only 10 microwaves and they were all occupied. When I expressed my dissatisfaction the front desk staff ANTHONY was rude and dismissive. It was very overpriced for the amount of space in the room. The pool area is dirty and needs to be cleaned.
- 4/5
Very friendly service. The room was more dated than expected, the AC did not cool the room off until several hours later. I paid extra for a loft room with patio. The patio was sad with two basic chairs and nothing more.
- 3/5
Don’t stay here in the summer the air-conditioning does not work and they will not do anything for you.
- 4/5
Like all Marriots, parking is a hidden fee they charge daily ($24 i might be a dollar or 2 off). This is ridiculous in my opinion. Checking in the evening were two gentleman who were kind and inviting, although they did not inform on having to use the key card in order to work the elevator, which was confusing and frustrating to figure on my own. The morning ladies at the front desk, however were a different story; quite short tempered and did not seem to want to be of assistance; as though asking for help was ruining their day. This....seemed to be a theme with the rest of downtown Pasadena. My room was a bit small. If the bathroom door was open the front door would collide with it. The bed was very noisey when moving around the bed. Other than this the room was comfortable. Had a small fridge, coffee maker with coffee, air conditioning that worked very well, and presentable bathroom. The cleaning staff was not very articulate in getting to rooms in our 3 day stay, which was a bit frustrating.
- 5/5
A very nice place. I would give it a 4 star hotel
- 5/5
Spacious room, comfortable. Walkable area was great.
- 3/5
Room was dirty carpet etc the halls smelled
- 3/5
Smelled like Indian food on our floor.
- 1/5
Room reeked of mildew, bathtub dirty, peeling wallpaper, broken sliding door latch, and dingy carpet. The “premium” room faced a cement wall below the pool—dark and creepy. Tiny pool, not enough lounges. Charged nearly $700/night. My husband coughed all night from the mildew smell. We checked out early.
- 5/5
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and accommodating. AC is noisy and not able to adjust the fan speed.
- 4/5
Nice pool area food very good staff very nice
- 5/5
Very well located. Confortable. Friendly staff
- 4/5
Will definitely stay at this hotel again
- 3/5
Overall, it’s a nice hotel located in a good location. The downside, would be customer service, the lobby is not kept clean, the wifi went out for almost 12 hrs without any automated notification on the room phones and obscene early checkin charge of $50 if you arrive 3 hrs early for the 4pm checkin.
- 1/5
People were outside smoking weed non stop. Bath tub was not clean. Front desk staff was rude. They even let a stranger charge my room and accept no responsibility.
- 4/5
The breakfast/lunch dining area needs a host. I was ignored for about 5 minutes & actually went to the front desk to see if I had missed breakfast. The older gentleman waiter argued with me that I had not been waiting that long, so my first morning there was not a positive experience. The next morning was better and I was not waiting as long. It just seemed understaffed. Housekeeping was great, the bar staff was great. Overall very positive besides the one morning/breakfast issue. Clean and great location.
- 5/5
good place, better location
- 4/5
Great food options. Bed was comfortable. Free internet.
- 4/5
It doesn't give that upscale "Bonvoy" feeling that most Marriots have, but it was a nice stay and it worked out great for our family.
- 5/5
Everything was nearby! Check in guy was so friendly and even let us check in early.

it was super easy to get to the convention center. The beds are very comfortable. The staff are super friendly overall the very relaxing stay for my work trip. I wish I made time to get in the pool like a plane. It’s a little confusing to get in if you’re not driving. But it’s really easy to go to old Pasadena. There’s a lot of good food in shopping.

I asked someone who was born and raised in Pasadena, it felt so good staying in this hotel. After years of being away, I loved how convenient this hotel was placed. Walkable to restaurants and shopping. And the on-site amenities were absolutely amazing! Not to mention the staff from the check-in staff to the housekeepers, everyone was absolutely amazing!!
- 5/5
One night stay in the studio room was great. Fire pit and a patio was a great plus to the room check in was nice and easy staff was great. I do wish the air conditioning worked a little better but overall great stay
- 3/5
The staff was incredibly nice. Especially in the restaurant. However, the pool is very small and very crowded. The hotel has a contract with Virgin Airlines so all the crew goes down to the pool and basically takes all the chairs. There is nowhere to layout or enjoy the pool. They also sell pool memberships to the public, which seems strange to me since their pool is so small. The room itself is small and there were stains on the wall and the room was just overall tired. The location is great, and the staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Lovely loft style rooms, great food, pleasant staff.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay.
- 5/5
The hotel has a great ambience, very modern and trendy. We loved the arts theme throughout. Really loved the silent movies and small theater near the lounge. The swimming pool area is very beautiful and fun to use. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the lounge and restaurant on site. The hotel is within walking distance of many great restaurants and shopping. The layout of the hotel is interesting, be ready for a very long walk if your room is at the end of the hallway!
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly

The erea was peaceful and near by everything. It was clean and we had a good time
- 5/5

Staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was clean. The tv wasn’t working and someone came to fix it, It took him a total of 5 minutes to arrive and fix the problem. Very happy with our stay.

Great Staff.
- 5/5
This hotel is so nice I love that it has shopping near and restaurants plus’s all walking distances:)) the breakfast is great and they have a heated swimming pool:)))) and the staff is great 👍
- 5/5
Overall a fantastic place to stay. The parking situation isn't the greatest, but it's not horrible. If you have luggage that you need to unload from a parked car underground to take up to your room, you might have to walk a bit to get to the elevators.
- 4/5
My stay was absolutely great in every way, except for one. The beds and pillows were slightly uncomfortable for me. Though alternative pillows were made available to us, which help. Staff is very attentive and polite. Surrounding area offers lots of choices for food. Location was easy to get to.
- 5/5
I've stayed at over a dozen different hotels in the Pasadena area and this is by far the best
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
Great, central location in Pasadena near Old Town. Comfy beds, great shower, wonderful staff. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Love it
- 5/5
Thank you everyone for a great stay!! Isaac at the front desk was particularly helpful!
- 2/5
Not really what I expected! The hotel is basically connected to the Pasadena convention center and that’s how it feels. Staying in the middle of a convention center. I booked a Loft Kong Size room with a Patio. When I arrive to check in, they’re overbooked in this category and say they’d upgrade me. The room I got was overlooking the roof of the parking lot and I did not sleep all night because of the sound of the HVAC system that is in front of the window. Next morning I switch to the original room I booked which now apparently is available. The patio is ok , but feels cold as they’re no plants and again the room facing now the back of the ice Stadium. I great chain, could make this hotel amazing but as managed right now, I would not stay here again.
- 4/5
Not a big fan of the graffiti picture in the room.
- 5/5
The music theme
- 5/5
They should have done a better job of employing more staff for restaurants
- 4/5
Cool property. We enjoyed the decorations and closeness to downtown Pasadena.
- 5/5
Excelente atención, súper amables , me encantó el servicio y el hotel muy acogedor y agradable
- 3/5
Sofa bed in suite was an absolutely uncomfortable to sleep on and needs a pillow top insert. Carpet was dirty and old. Coffee stains all over the coffee table. Curtains were musty. Had to call guest services three times and when someone finally answered, I asked politely for 2 extra pillows, a couple towels and a blanket and got a response of, "Got it." For $540; will definitely go somewhere else next time.
- 4/5
First floor room was a bit dated. Small fitness center. Had to ask 2 days in a row for towels in the fitness center. Good location.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Excellent stay. No complaints whatsoever!

- 5/5
We loved our stay at Hotel Dena. The hotel is just beautiful - so well-designed, comfortable, sleek, and sophisticated - and they obviously run a tight ship: our room was cleaned and re-stocked daily and the grounds are maintained perfectly. The location is super convenient to everything Pasadena has to offer and it’s close to the area freeways for when you have to travel outside of the area. Truly, our stay was better than we could have hoped for and this will definitely be our go-to hotel for future LA visits!
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 4/5
Our room seemed to have very thin walls as we could hear conversations, arguments, etc. during the evening/night as we tried to sleep. I'd still stay there again....
- 3/5
Nice hotel. Cute hotel bar. Patio looked like an interrogation spot. Seemed that other could have access to our sliding door. We kept it locked up. Also, we were put on the first floor and our door was immediately next to the entry door for the hallway so that noise was happening all the time.
- 3/5
Not a bad hotel just a bit dated the rooms could use some updating. Food schedule in the restaurant is kind of odd
- 3/5
The rooms are big and clean
- 5/5
Loved this place! A nice relaxed vibe and so walkable to downtown spots. Beds were too soft tho… and our pillows were a bit lumpy. Otherwise, everything else was perfect.
- 4/5
Great location, clean, friendly. Dining and bar options are below average but it is walkable to many great restaurants and bars. Not a great feel for hanging out. It just feels past its prime. Would I stay again? Yes, the price is right and I felt clean and well taken care of.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Enjoyed stay. Room comfortable (although I could have used a soap dish rather than using the little box), housekeeping was very helpful and pleasant, and Lyric staff was very welcoming, pleasant, and professional. Kudos to Sandra and Jose. Front desk staff very helpful.

I have no review of this property because we didn’t stay here. I called the day before check-in to ask about early check-in as we were going to AC/DC. The person I spoke to told me that they weren’t sure if I could check-in early but that I would have no issue checking in after the concert as long as I arrived before 1am. I got a call during the concert from the front desk manager advising that the hotel had been oversold and there were no rooms left. We booked this room in December. He told me that we were being sent to another property that was about 5 miles away. It was not. We booked hotel Dena because it was 2.5 miles from the venue. The property we were sent to was in Silverlakes, 12 miles away, and a near 30 minute drive. Not a good experience
- 4/5
The property was clean. Even though we were on the 3rd floor we could hear outside music and construction.
- 5/5
Customer service was amazing. Beds comfy. Room spotless. Stylish hotel. Great vibe.
- 5/5
A delightful stay all around. Cute pool, great service, hip decor, modern amenities and a warm vibe.
- 4/5
This was our first time staying in Pasadena and we appreciated the proximity to everything from the hotel. The main areas are fun and full of cool design elements. The pool was very nice as well as the 24/7 fitness area. Our room was immaculate, quiet, with a nice expansive view of the mountains. The exorbitant $30 a day parking charge and no breakfast included though are very surprising for a hotel of this quality. It drove up the overall cost of our short 3 day stay significantly, which leaves me not loving our experience here.
- 5/5
We called about some loud music outside our room, and they front desk immediately turned it off. Thank You!
