The Nest Hotel is generally well-liked for its clean, modern rooms and friendly staff. Guests appreciate the convenient location and amenities such as EV charging and outdoor seating areas. However, some guests have issues with noise, breakfast options, and room size.

Modern, spotless, superior front desk staff. Cleaning crew excellent, professional demeanor. Loved the beer, frosted mug and bottle opener! Dogs welcome - clean dog relief area well lit, safe. No fridge or microwave.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times in the past. I couldn’t believe how run down the property has become. The lobby is nice, but the rooms need a deep cleaning and a paint job. The shower apparently needed repairs and caulking was just smeared along the repair. It looked horrible. This is something I would expect to see at Motel 6, not at the Nest… oh, and now they charge you to park your car in the parking lot… just because they can squeeze another $10 out of you! Make another choice if you want a nice place, this isn’t.

Very nice hotel. It kind of hidden. I would most likely come stay here again.

Nice & comfortable room.

I loved the bonfire area and the bed was comfy. For a hotel that has doors leading out to the parking lot (exterior) the price seemed a bit high.

Very clean facility. However, no staff available early in morning. Front office locked. No one there?
- 3/5
The mattress was uncomfortable. The floor lamp didn’t work. The towels were small and paper thin. The floor was dirty. There was no decaf coffee or tea. The bathroom door was translucent and let enough light into the room at night to wake up my husband.

No refrigerator. No microwave Ac is super low . Found a condom wrapper underneath the bed. So dissatisfied

Great price on a clean, stylish place in Palo Alto! Front desk staff was polite and efficient, nice choices of wine by the glass in a pretty indoor/outdoor lobby area, and an included full breakfast. There’s nothing not to like here!

The room was clean and nicely put together. The water feature and fire feature outside were very nice. Unfortunately I did not read the fine print about the day and hours for the wine tasting in the lobby. Feedback about the quality of the breakfast was fair. No microwave or refrigerator present in the room.

The breakfast was great but there many little things already broken in this new-looking hotel or not very convenient from the beginning. One side lamp was not working, another was hanging limply, the sink sprayed everywhere. The TV required a PhD to operate it. The closet was halfway hidden behind the side of the sink and mostly unusable. The mattress was uncomfortable. This is Motel 6 wearing new clothes.

Breakfast was minimal and not really for someone like me- vegetarian and gluten sensitive. Only thing I could eat was a plain yogurt. Coffee was just okay (room coffee was better). But otherwise lovely stay. Gym was pretty decent.
- 4/5
I would recommend the Nest to people. It’s very quaint and clean . There’s lots of outdoor furniture that you can sit and relax, the rooms are clean modern and comfortable. The sheets are high quality and the tv is big and on the wall . The only thing that I was disappointed was the breakfast. They could surely serve a better breakfast to match the quality of the rooms and the ambiance.
- 4/5
Parking was supposed to be free. But they charge $10 on arrival.
- 4/5
I was a bit put off by my initial view of the place. I think it lacks curb appeal. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The rooms have clearly been renovated and felt modern.

It was a quaint location. For its location, it was quiet. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. It was amazing how you crammed the breakfast buffet into such a small space. The TV channels that I had access to (Netflix, You Tube, Amazon Prime. I had to ask for toilet paper. I use wash clothes, which were not available in the room. The coffee maker did not work. When I informed the front desk, the young man working the desk asked, did you put water into it? Did you plug it in? Sorry, but I am not a bumbling idiot. Paying for parking was a surprise.

Good effort at updating an old motel They charge $10 for parting in an open-air, unfenced, unshaded lot where my car was ransacked. Not kidding Lightning in room was obnoxiously harsh overhead, and with that off, the only other lights available were tiny LED reading lights, plus bathroom lights. We could hear anyone talking anywhere near our room.
- 3/5
Really limited amenities. The room was nice but basic. No lights by the bed. There were reading lights but no bulbs. No info on the tv .. there was a remote behind the tv that allowed Netflix etc but we stumbled around to find it. Minimal towels .. nice breakfast in the morning and coffee .. it was quiet and it worked for our needs . My husband was in Stanford for a procedure.
- 5/5
Would have liked to have a refrigerator and a microwave in the room.
- 4/5
Old motel that has been upgraded.
- 5/5
The place is convenient and the room comes with delicious breakfast: potatoes, eggs, chicken sausages, English muffins, bagels, sliced bread, muffins, fresh fruit, orange juice, tea, and coffee.

Very helpful staff and a clean, quiet room. The option to purchase a glass of wine at check in (and any time) was a lovely welcome!

This was my first time staying at the Nest Hotel. I was greeted promptly as I entered the lobby by a friendly receptionist. The check-in process was swift and I was given an upgrade on my room without asking. The room was very clean and modern. The shower was spacious and their choice of shampoo/conditioner smelled amazing. There was ample parking and the continental breakfast included breakfast potatoes, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, bagels and fresh fruit. However, if you prefer Starbucks, there is a brick and mortar within a short walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel. And I will look forward to staying here again in the future.

It is not how it looks in the photos at all. It was definitely a revamped motel and was not worth the price at all. I’m still waiting to see if I’m going to get reimbursed since I found on their website it was almost half the cost of what it showed I’m booking. But it was not worth the price at all as I said, it there was a tiny little refrigerator, no microwave and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The property just looks like a revamped motel & you can tell that the inside of the hotel had been remodeled but not very well.

Beautiful little hotel, very nice rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is good, not great, but there are a ton of places to eat around it, but definitely good for a morning pick-me-up. Pretty quiet for being right off a major throughfare, just jet traffic noise from SJO, but that's common. I would defintiely stay again next time I am in the area.

The property was close enough to Stanford. The buffet breakfast was filling. The remodel looks like it was done in haste, but the property was clean. No fridge, but they let you keep your food in their kitchen.

Very welcoming to me and my service animal. The desk is staffed 24/7 and they have a very good complimentary breakfast. Room was modern, clean, quiet, and cozy.

This was an ok property, not great, not awful.
- 4/5
I felt safe and my room was done every day, and for the most part the place was quiet. It’s nicely situated, about a 10-min drive from Stanford, and 25 mins from San Jose airport. The gym could use some love, but then again, so could the whole place. All in all, it’s a solid place to stay.

I wouldn’t call this a vacation hotel, but we needed to be in town for some weekend meetings and this place was lovely for that. Easy with our pet too! Staff was lovely, helpful, friendly - convenient location for being in town - breakfast choices for everyone - great upgrade of what was probably a mid-century property. This is a find! My husband would have preferred the sink area being separate from shower and commode but that didn’t seem that out of the ordinary to me.

Hotel has been updated, but not well. The walls are thin, very noisy, door had a gap at bottom so light and noise from outside courtyard kept us awake. Breakfast was very simple and overall disappointed given the price we paid. One positive was nice staff.

Good location for what we needed. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Since there isn’t any carpeting, it was noisy - the people upstairs were very loud… we heard every step they took. Cars coming and going in the parking lot were loud. The thermostat had a mind of its own… was much warmer than we would have liked.

I had higher expectations for this hotel given its reputation, but the stay fell short in a few areas. Parking was advertised as free on Expedia, yet we were charged $10 per night, which should be updated in the listing. Breakfast was advertised as a buffet, but the selection was very limited with short hours, ending at 9am even on the weekend. However, the rooms were nice and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, so after all yes I would stay here again.

The rooms are dimly lit and there is only one light for the entire room. The bathroom is well lit but our shower leaked water during showers and caused a real hazard as water would pool right outside the shower and could cause potential slips. There is no refrigerator in the room (this should be standard, but is not the case in all hotels), so bring your own cooler. The biggest issue is the hotel room walls are thin. We could hear everything from people conversating in the sitting area outside of our room, to the guests upstairs walking around the room that sounded so loud. This was really disappointing and made it extremely hard to get good sleep.

Small hotel that packs a punch in service. Not your uber resorts, but easy in and out, amble free parking, quiet, clean room and super friendly staff. The breakfast is okay, nothing to write home about, but it will hold your tummy until lunch. Did not get to try the free wine, but each night, guests love to hang around the outdoor fireplace and chat. Only con would be, needs a mini fridge in the room and must keep the black out curtains to prevent unwanted eyes outside. Overall, this is a great place to stay for visiting Palo Alto. The price is right for the nice stay.

Room was so empty and sterile. Not inviting at all. It was also loud. Did the trick but won’t stay here next business trip

Very pet friendly.

Clean and comfortable room. Staff was very friendly and informative. Great Location with plenty of food / drink options around.

This is really a renovated motel that has the appearance of being modern but really still feels like a motel. The bed comforter felt like tissue paper and had a old stain on it. Cobwebs could be seen in several spots on the ceiling and the sink made weird screeching noises when turned on. The AC unit and fan function worked inconsistently. Breakfast provided in the morning is very small and has ultra processed, over microwaved food. I stayed here for work due to close location and price; however, next time I will spend a little bit more to have my usual comforts.

Great place to stay
- 4/5
Friendly staff, decent free breakfast, clean rooms. Only negative is the shower noise that comes through the walls.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet room. Breakfast included hot items which we enjoyed. Parking was convenient and safe.

Excellent place!!
- 3/5
I would only stay here on the second floor.
- 5/5
Great rate for benefits. Spartan but clean room loved Napa style outdoor patio and adequate breakfast.

Only stayed overnight. Didn’t get to do anything but sleep.

Very clean. All redone. Great staff! Pretty lobby area with firepit on at night. Free EV charging a definite plus! 24 hour donut shop across the street… yum yum
- 4/5
Pet friendly. Room small, had all amenities though.
- 5/5
The hotel is very nice and suited our needs well. Need a chair in the room with a head and foot rest. Excellent for the price.
- 3/5
This is a stylish property that is essentially a remodeled motel. The staff is friendly, but in my case was not entirely disclosing about how noisy my room would be early in the morning with the cleaning staff began their work..
- 5/5
Keep it up
- 5/5
Great stay! Clean facility and the staff was really nice. Thank you!
- 3/5
Convenient location, rooms tidy, lobby and surroundings well kept. First time here, stayed for 4 days. Breakfast was bad especially scrambled eggs.
- 4/5
Perfect for our short stay. Price point good for property. Friendly staff, clean and well maintained.
- 3/5
The room insulation was poor, and I could hear noise throughout the night during my last stay at the hotel.
- 4/5
Quit and friendly staff.

It was a nice stay for one night. Clean and comfortable. The AC was the only issue. I couldn’t find the control in the unit to lower it.
- 2/5
Bed was comfortable
- 5/5
Friendly staff, easy to get to, near restaurants and shopping centers.
- 5/5
Great room. Great place.
- 5/5
The bathroom lighting and shower was the best out of all the places on our recent trip (10+ hotels).
- 5/5
Very clean, good breakfast, nice and helpful staff reasonable price, very nice courtyard with fireplace and water falls.
- 3/5
Room didn’t have a working ac was 78 degrees room was not cleaned properly. It was a premium king suite. They downgraded our room was never offered a partial refund, in fact they refused to reimburse us the difference in room prices.

Wonderful

The morning of July 27 me and my girlfriend woke to crazy amount of ants all over the ceiling and all over our food. I’m sure not all rooms were affected but this had to be the worst experience. Never going back

Great place to stay

It was a pleasant surprise that they had breakfast in the morning. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the landscaping was beautiful.

Nice hotel
- 5/5
The complimentary breakfast was nice. The staff was kind and accommodating, especially Phillip and Alex.
- 3/5
It is a cute property. However, the walls are thin! We stayed on the first floor and could hear the people above us walking around and in the bathroom. It woke us up.
- 5/5
Always a pleasant stay

Great place to stay. Clean quiet room and friendly staff

The rooms were very modern and clean.

Nice, new, clean. No elevator.
- 3/5
The room was a bit dirty but the hotel was in a safe location which I appreciated.
- 5/5
The staff is wonderful. Love staying here
- 5/5
It was quite and modern
- 5/5
They are very accommodating and I love how check out is at 12pm instead of 11am. That extra hour makes a huge difference!
- 2/5
The hotel location is great. The room initially looked good and clean, however, it is very clear there was a large water leak in the room at some point as the floors and wall around the shower were swollen. We were unable to close the bathroom door and it fell off the track almost falling down trying to close it. Likewise, there was a generally musty, moist smell and nats in the room. Some of there other rooms may be fine but it just was not the best experience for the price.
- 4/5
The room was adequate for a few nights stay. The staff was friendly. Good location, couple of minutes from Standford University. Only complaint would be our sheets were dirty.
- 5/5
Appreciated the great customer service from staff, very clean room and amenities. I definitely recommend this place, and will return to stay again!

It was glorious.

Great stay

Outdoor sitting for breakfast nice
- 3/5
I liked it, but it lacked basic amenities like a fridge, ice machine. Small room and I could hear my neighbors. I would stay here again but hopefully they offer more.
- 5/5
The location of this property in Palo Alto is really good. The breakfast served in the office was OK, nothing special. But I will go back there on next visit to Palo Alto.

Nice clean hotel!
- 5/5
Glorious stay ♡♡♡ Thank you.

Divine.

My regular go-to whenever I am in Palo Alto. Has it's own wine selection at the front desk, good wine, quite expensive per glass
- 5/5
I truly enjoyed my stay at the Nest. I am a light sleeper and it was so nice and quiet. The staff were very nice - every single person I interacted with. The room is sufficient with decent sized bathroom and closet space. It is not far from shopping or restaurants. The morning breakfast was delicious and fresh with choices. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
- 3/5
This is a motel, not a hotel. The USB chargers and outlets did not work well. There are no restaurants nearby and probably a lot of people would like the breakfast but I don't like the kind of breakfast they serve because it is cheap, processed American food. Wish I had stayed elsewhere.
- 3/5
Nothing unique or special. Just a well-maintained hotel with a nice room and minimum breakfast.
- 5/5
Very cozy and clean
- 5/5
Super comfortable and quiet. Exactly what we needed.
- 5/5
I checked into The Nest after a very distressing experience at another hotel that I thought was going to be good, based on two reviews on this site. It was a gross misrepresentation. That place was horrible and gross. The Nest is the total opposite. Clean, well staffed, comfortable. The bed was wonderful! A total delight!
- 5/5
Staff is awesome, very clean, modern styled ‘retro’ hotel, great value for the price. Highly recommended

- 5/5
Great spot - cute, comfy, clean, convenient. Would stay again!
- 5/5
Thus property checks all the boxes: gym, outdoor fireplace and fountains, with plenty of comfortable seating. They also have wine, beer, soft drinks, and an indoor fireplace, in the lobby. Pet friendly, and very friendly staff!
- 5/5
Super happy with my stayed
- 5/5
Clean, fantastic service, has a gym. I love this place :)
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
I loved the outside seating areas, and the wine & beer bar. All the staff was very friendly!
- 3/5
Although the lobby and grounds looked quite nice for a renovated older place, the room was very small and inconveniently furnished. The bedframe stuck out so one bumped into it constantly. The flash shower leaked on the floor. The TV, although huge, didn't swivel so only place to watch was from bed, the Keurig was broken. It all looked better than it was(pretty look but not very functional) Yelling outside in middle of night and early morning (unknown if neighbor property or hotel itself), big dog fee with no real place to potty dog, old fruit at breakfast. We would not return.
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Helpful staff. Great breakfast. Quiet
- 2/5
Unless you don’t mind hearing loud footsteps and everything else from above, stay on the 2nd floor.
- 5/5
Great property. Friendly staff
- 5/5
We loved this quaint hotel! The room was modern and clean, the staff was friendly, and the fire pit was an added bonus.
- 5/5
Good price and great location
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Love being able to have a glass of wine at the fireplace after checking in. Really accommodating with late check out.
