Reviews
The hotel reviews indicate a mix of positive and negative experiences. Guests generally appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms and the convenient location, but there are recurring complaints about the quality of the beds, thin walls, and issues with shower water pressure and temperature.

The hotel is dated and shows signs of work needing to be completed (painting). The room was clean, but furnishings show lots of wear. Check-in is done with a kiosk in the small lobby. Did see someone in the lobby when getting more coffee from a drawer in the lobby. Very different experience from other travel experiences. The hotel is located an easy drive to Stanford Hospital.

We were there 5 nights and they did not change the sheets. Hidden charges for parking and "amenities."

Very clean and comfy, they even had some nice complimentary Dove products, way nicer than I'd have expected for a motel like this.

I liked that the two beds were in different rooms and that the vanity was separate from the toilet and shower. The rate was a little high due tobthe BTS concert, but not nearly as high as others in the area. The remote receptionist was a little strange, but we checled in close to 11pm and there was a person present when I checked out. The cooler worked well but was a little loud. Fortunately, I was exhausted and had no trouble falling asleep.

The towels were nice and fluffy. The bed was comfy and there were 4 pillows on the king bed. They had a Starbucks coffee bag system coffee maker. (But had no decaf, which I drink. No breakfast provided.) The housekeeping came every 2 or 3 days, as expected. I think you could request it more often, if wanted. The black out curtains really blocked out most of the light. The virtual check in took *twenty* minutes because one of the machines wasn't working and he had to try to re-boot multiple times, we finally noticed the power was not on for the credit card scanner, although this was a *pre-paid* room I paid for in advance with Expedia. It was an incredibly long waste of my time just for the "incidentals" I didn't want when I was tired- it was late at night. The lighting in the room and bathroom was dim and poor in most places and then the sink/vanity lighting was far, far, too bright and harsh. I know that makes me sound like goldilocks, but this was extreme. The fridge was turned to a setting that did not keep my food cold. From now on, I will always check! So I had to throw out the food my family cooked and chilled for me for 6 breakfasts. The cheese slices were weeping after a day like that, and there was water on the tray under the freezer section, to prove it was too warm. I ate the cheese, but I had to throw out the hard cooked eggs. That was to have been my breakfast for the next six mornings. The fruit was OK. Turning up the setting corrected the problem, but I didn't expect that problem in the first place.

We went for the BTS concert in May of 2026 and the best part was the proximity to the venue. The staff was very nice and helpful getting everything situated.

The location was ideal. In the main bus line was a great plus for our stay. The bed was ok. The building is old but provided us everything we needed for our stay.

Both the motel AND EXPEDIA failed to disclose the true total cost. It was reported to EXPEDIA, but they failed to address issue.
- 2/5
The room look bare, no decor lots of patchwork on the walls. It just didn’t feel very welcoming or pretty, but it was quiet and the room was roomy, the water was warm and the coffee maker worked well so it wasn’t terrible. The outside of the building needed some work as well.

We stay in every kind of hotel/motel and travel extensively for work, family visits, médical appointments and for fun. This little motel is great. The Hôtel Parmani was a great value, a good location, and confortable. Like many hotels and motels, it is an older building, probably under never ownership (at least precovid). This is not a resort. The rooms were clean, furnishings well thought out and all functional. Thank you for a table and two real chairs! Please don’t give this place a bad reputation. We picked the lowest price in the Stanford area and werent disappointed. Thank you!

The facilities were adequate. The room was a little dark that I stayed in tucked in the back corner of the lot
- 3.5/5
Good location, close to Stanford. Appreciated having a mini fridge. Keurig was available with coffee. Extra necessities were in the office if needed (linens, coffee). Parking is an extra $5/day which seemed unnecessary. The room is outdated and in need of a face lift.
- 4/5
Very Clean, Good firm generously sized mattresses, full range Direct TV Good sized rooms Excellent and friendly housekeepers Extra towels, pillows etc available at desk A little dated for price - could use touch up to paint and grout One street entrance available only from south bound lane - must do a U-turn 2 blocks down if coming from north, no east west entrances. Narrow covered parking available for about half of rooms. Charged $4.50 per car per night separate from room fee. Desk staffed remotely
- 4/5
The property was clean and I felt secure in my stay here not a lot of traffic in and out. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable, and the price was very affordable. The only complaint that I would have about this day is that they need to update their bathrooms the toilet sit very low and for someone who is disabled slightly it’s hard to get up and down so they need to install newer facilities in the restrooms
- 4/5
I usually stay here when visiting my Stanford student son. It's close to campus and affordable. Not fancy but I don't need fancy. It's nice to support a family-run business. They have 2 room units in case we're bringing grandma for a visit, for a small increase in price. This time I was surprised/disappointed that they added a new $5 parking fee, however. Be aware of this-- it was not obvious when I made my reservation at all.

If your a mother checking in with child/children or female alone checking in does NOT privacy. There is a large picture window on a very busy street and you have to use a kiosk machine no person/attendant at desk. You’re checking into this motel facing the street and standing entering your personal and financial security information. The door is open 24/7 without any safety while at your he kiosk. I have assisted with a personal clerk on the kiosk screen. Takes 0.30 minutes at least. The person on the kiosh did not tell me the time when a person would be present at the desk. My car was vandalized also. Poor customer service. Worse place I have seen. Not worth the price, room had old scratched up furniture throughout the room. Not a safe place. Beware. Do not stay at this property. Scale (1-5) give it 1 or Zero.

I didn't like the lock on the door. I didn't feel as safe as places with more than just a lock and chain. I thought the pillows were horrible, really small and not at all fluffy. The room was clean but I could tell it needs updating maintenance soon in the shower. The staff was friendly at check in. I would not stay here again. I paid too much for a 3 star rating.

There was good parking, a microwave, a fridge, ice, and nice curtains. The AC was good and there was shampoo. TV was good as was the room lighting. There was a hair dryer, and the room was nice. Not really a very stylish building but better on the inside. The bed was fine also. I remember the surrounding area being nice and quiet but then again it is Palo Alto. It was the highest rate I paid on the California trip but not ridiculous and you are paying for the "Bay Area" location to some extent.

If you need to flop for a night or two near Stanford, this is a fine choose, with no car, and you want to get your step. Short walk to California Street Palo Alto Caltrain station, restaurants/shopping and other amenities. Healthy walk to campus and hospital or very short drives.

This place is trash. We paid $353 for one night so we can stay close to family member admitted at Stanford. They take advantage of being close by and charge crazy $$. Door knobs falling off and roaches in the room. To the management: have a heart and be fair. We rented a higher end hotel for the remainder of the stay just a little bit far from Stanford for less than one night at this place.

This hotel was just fine for what it was; that is to say, it's one of the cheapest hotels in the area, but isn't dirty or seedy. Everything was clean and fresh, it was all just very cheap. Bare minimum on just about everything. But sometimes that's more than enough. If you're traveling on business (and have to pay up front for yourself) or traveling on a budget with family, Hotel Parmani is perfectly acceptable and won't leave you feeling dirty or gross afterwards.

I love to stay here when visiting Stanford U. It's simple and close to campus and fairly priced. Not fancy but clean and just what I need. If you want something upscale, there are other big chain hotel options - leave this place for me! The family that owns the hotel is always gracious and accommodating, if I have a bag that needs to be stowed before I head to the airport, or if I need to check in a little early. It's great to support a family business instead of a faceless conglomerate corporation.

It was AWFUL. The lobby stunk like a mixture of curry and body odor. And the check-in agent was a video screen of a real person in her pajamas in her bedroom somewhere very cozy... which clearly was not on teh property. Then they want to make me pay for it (we absolutley did not stay, even after complaining of the stench).

Then they want to make me pay for it (we absolutley did not stay, even after complaining of the stench).

Room was just right for our purposes. Good size with everything we could need. Especially loved having 2 luggage stands which you rarely get in even expensive places. Clean, quiet, and comfortable.

**What Went Well:** - The room was very clean and well-maintained. - The staff was exceptionally friendly, and I appreciated the addition of a virtual agent kiosk in the lobby, available after hours. - There were plenty of extra supplies available in the lobby, which was a nice touch. - The room size was decent and provided ample space. - I was pleasantly surprised to find a small kitchenette, complete with a hot plate, microwave, and mini refrigerator. - For those who enjoy TV, there was a great selection of DirectTV channels. - The heating and A/C unit worked efficiently, maintaining a comfortable temperature. - The room featured a bath/shower tub, which I found to be a nice amenity. **What Could Have Been Better:** - The bed was unfortunately uncomfortable. While I understand comfort is subjective, I felt the mattress could use an upgrade. - The pillows were not great either—small, lumpy, and flat, which made it hard to get a good night's sleep. - The toilet handle fell off, but to their credit, it was repaired the following day. - As expected with an older property, there was a slight musty odor in the room, which could have been better addressed. Overall, I had a pleasant stay

The stay was reasonably priced. However I checked in after 10:00 pm which apparently necessitated the need for virtual check in. This process did not go smoothly and I am not a fan of the service in general. I understand the need for safety but I do believe that a lot is lost by not having a front desk employee available in person. I was not happy with my room placement but knew it would be a hassle to change so I just stuck it out. Overall the property is decent, and if you’re looking for a value stay it is acceptable. However I would not recommend this property for most travelers.

This property is very dated. It could use quite a bit of updating. It was clean. It was ok for the price. No staff on the property from what I could see. I did not see even a maid. The property looked vacant most of the time. I would not go back again. The no staff and being virtual is just not for me.

For a a boulevard motor lodge with outdoor corridors, this is a very comfortable and relatively affordable place. The staff or not always on-site, so you may interact with a remote person on a screen in the lobby. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. There is a McDonalds only 75 yards west, so it's a good place to grab breakfast.

The price was right if you reserved on offsite website, not the hotel itself. Not having a live person to check in was terrible - extremely slow and cumbersom process. It's adequate, but only 1-2 steps above a Motel 6.

I was in the area to visit Stanford. The motel is older but it was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. I will definitely stay here again. It’s an affordable option in Palo Alto where most of the hotels are pricey.

I expected a nice room, they must have hired the cheapest contractor they could find because the craftsmanship is poor, paints chips all over the walls and bedroom door. The door handle falls off, rug is frayed by the entry way, cheap counter top that who ever installed the shove didn’t pre drill and cracked the the counter top, it’s actually kinda difficult to find and the room shakes when cars drive by, the roof is in noticeable dis repair. 130 a night and staff is just a computer screen on the wall. No or not willing to accommodate ADA persons. The ac unit make unusual noises like the condenser is iced over bed is very uncomfortable make for a bad start to work and a horrible nights rest. They charge a deposit for the room in case you damage it which is fine but the room was damaged already so I took pictures time and date stamp to protect myself from any here say. Super 8 or hotel 6 would have been better at least they are honest about the room condition and food options. Also most restaurants near by are closed out of business or sells so weird foods that’s just doesn’t look good.

The fridge was said to be a Mini fridge, but it's bigger than that. So it's very helpful if you need you bring more food that needs more fridge space. Very convenient for Pail Alto or Stamford.

It has "hotel" in the title but it was a motel. I was stuck in an adjoining room with my neighbor listening to a loud soccer game. It was a handicap-accessible room so it had no dresser or any place to put my bag or my clothes. It was weird in that it had a remote / automated check-in desk. But that was fine.

The Front desk lady told me I could check in @4am, I came @4am to check in and she told me again that I’d have to wait another 4 hours to check in. So I had to sleep in my car and wait til 8am to check in and I had went back to finally check in and she told me I wouldn’t be able to. Overall her service was horrible and was not very helpful as she kept postponing my check in time to a later hour. I hope this doesn’t continue with other guests

This hotel worked out very well for our stay while one of us had surgery at Stanford Hospital. The one thing I should have done was book an accessible room, as there were no bars to hang onto in the shower/tub, and I needed them. Also we ended up on the second floor, and then found out after the surgery that I can only climb stairs if I go up backwards. The staff would have moved us to a ground floor room, but they were full up. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable.

I booked the hotel Monday thru Friday because my husband was having surgery.Next morning woke up to bed bugs I had to checkout early. I let the the desk person know all he said he was going to make note of it didn't. I would stay there again.

Check in was fascinating, done through an apparatus in the lobby, remotely, with scanning capabilities as well as a printer for door passes. Friendly, courteous, and informative. Room was fine, especially for the cost. No major amenities, but basics were all covered. Quiet, good mattress. Perfect for a one-night stay.
- 3/5
A little disappointing. When I did the booking it said free breakfast. We checked in and were told they don't have it but there are resturant's up the street. We checked in and I was told that I had to go back to the office, they forgot to run my credit card. Then my wife came back to the office and said the inside door handle fell off, it was fixed quickly. Then at 10 pm my wife was in the bathroom and said the toilet seat was loose, It actually fell off, and I fixed it. We had to leave early and told them. I was told they would knock off 1 day. When I was getting out of the hospital I saw the bill was for the full amount. They said they would credit it the one day and haven't seen it yet. I have stayed at better and worse places.

The property is not a 5 star Ritz Carlton but it doesn't pretend to be. It's a nice motel with quiet efficient heating, a decent bed and nice hot shower. The room also has a table with 2 chairs, coffeemaker, fridge and microwave. It's just an easy 10 minute drive to Stanford. We had a little trouble with our tv and Management came and fixed it straight away. We would definitely stay here again especially at the price.

I have stayed here countless times when visiting Stanford U. For value and proximity it serves me well, as I don’t need anything fancy and often don’t bother renting a car. When I need space for more people, the affordable two room suites serve well as we mostly just sleep here— simple, clean, and spacious works. I like supporting this family run business and walking to great food nearby (sad the Fish Market next door closed!) My only comments this time: temperature control is really difficult in the winter with the typical old-style wall heater under the window, which is loud and blows overly hot dry air with seemingly no control. Also would be nice to see wall dispensers for shampoo instead of little plastic bottles for environmental reasons. Otherwise I really appreciate the flexibility with check in times and had another nice two nights. Thank you!
