Very ok breakfast for American standards. Excellent location. The walls are quite thin and the doors do not block the sound from the hallway too good.

They canceled my reservation because I had a delay in my flight. I updated for that delay, and still, they canceled my reservation. They took me the full amount and transferred me to the only hotel that had rooms in Palo Alto. It's the worst hotel ever. Dirty, disgusting, and I moved after one night and paid double

Close to Stanford, we’re in town for the BTS concert and we’re able to come back to a clean, comfortable room. Breakfast was good and the coffee hit the spot. The parking could be a bit of a challenge, fortunately we were there on a weekend and could find a spot.

Great location is an easy walk to many restaurants. Quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Small but nicely detailed bathroom. Parking was easy using either the street ( 2 hour limit weekdays) or the nearby public lot which was $25 for a one day pass (M-F) paid at the hotel. The Deluxe King room was very small. The room was as wide as the bed plus the two bedside tables on either side, maybe 5 extra feet total. There was no seating except an office chair in one corner. There were no storage spaces, only a narrow short shelf along one wall, plus a closet space with a shelf behind a curtain. Lighting was barely adequate for reading.

Location was great ! Clean hotel . Good breakfast small area to eat but I just took the food to my room. Free parking on weekends if you can get a spot . Staff was also nice and helpful . Bed is super comfortable! Walking distance to Stanford stadium and mall . Lots of food and coffee shops near by . Thin walls !! You can hear steps and door slams but I listen to rain music at night so it didn’t bother me too much . Smaller room but great for a solo traveler. Bathroom has no real door but I was alone so i didn’t mind .

I saw some comments complaining about the difficulty of finding the hotel, but for us it was very easy. After getting off the Caltrain, I just followed Apple Maps on my iPhone, and within a few minutes we found it. This was just a short one-night stop to see my son at Stanford University before continuing my trip to China, but it was a pleasant night enjoying the food, the walk, and the beautiful weather.

This was one of the worst stays I've had. There is no bathroom door, the window is frosted. The night desk woman was very rude to me when I asked for help with parking when all the street and lots were closed for a parade. I was staying with my mother in law - no bathroom door was terrible. The fridge was unplugged when we got there, I plugged it on, it has a clear door and shines BRIGHT light into a tiny room. No light switches near the bed. So terrible, maybe if I was staying alone it could have been better. But even with my husband this is a no go. It was more expensive than other hotels. I got daily texts asking me how it was going with no responses to me saying it was not going well. Since I booked through hotel.com, I couldn't leave and go somewhere else. I cannot stress enough what a terrible stay this was.

Location location Price was absurd given the size of room, that had a window looking at a wall, and very poor lighting. Housekeeping forgot to make up room and there was no solution to this when I came back to the hotel at 7 pm after being out all day. Unacceptable after paying 350+ dollars. I

the location was nice When I checked in, the front desk staff was extremely unprofessional, unresponsive, and unfriendly. They were also very disrespectful when they spoke to me, ignoring my questions and not providing information about the breakfast, checkout time, or other important details. The hotel room itself was not in good condition. The sheets and comforter were visibly dirty, and there’s used personal cleaning supplies, and I assumed that the previous occupants had not cleaned the room before I arrived. Additionally, the room was not soundproof, making it difficult to sleep and hear others. The room was also incredibly small, which was disappointing given the price I paid. While I understand that this hotel is affordable, I expect better service and quality of accommodations. Overall, my experience has been disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel to others.

First, stay alert, because if you blink you will miss it! We drove past it twice because we didn't see it. But once we found it, we were pleasantly surprised. It's a quaint, vibey little hotel within walking distance to great downtown restaurants and entertainment. Yes, the rooms are small, but it was clean, had everything we needed, and the bed/pillows were extremely comfortable. Plus, breakfast is included and there's free parking across the street on weekends. It's a great hotel for the price. One note, it says it's a pet friendly hotel, but there's nowhere for dogs to relieve themselves outside, which is a problem. That's the only reason I gave four stars instead of five.

Location. Access to another sister branch's facility in Menlo Park. Potential bike to hire. Healthy breakfast Sound proof is bad. You can hear every conversation from the next room throughout the night and sound from the reception if your room is close to the entrance. No window. Feeling dizzy and depressed when in room. Okay if you only sleep there.

Dislikes - as you open the entrance door to the room, the bathroom to the right had no door. as you entered the small room, there was a sliding barn type door to separate the entrance door from the bed area, one chair, small desk, no microwave, no frig, two glasses one bottle of water, coffee maker. ice maker in locked kitchen, tiny breakfast area, (didn't eat) locked pay parking in garage that was very unclean. if you was using the toilet you had to tell your guest to wait outside until you finished using it. It might work for one person with no guest. Would I go back there to stay? No! we stayed there to attend a Graduation ceremony. Do your research well.

Clean and comfortable in a great area. Excellent. Little breakfast. My only criticism is that I want a real door on the bathroom. I cannot imagine why architects think it's cool to put Windows and partial doors in front of toilets.

Upon walking into my new room, the same situation occured and that room was also not done. Finally I was able to get into a room.

Dirty and disappointing - avoid! After arriving and checking the sheets I went to sleep due to jetlag after long travel and work. I woke up in the night and discovered a dirty sock, and that the floor clearly hadn’t been cleaned due to the state of my clean white socks. On going to make a coffee in the morning, I discovered that the mug was sticky and dirty. A clean room really is the bare minimum and at the price point really unacceptable. Breakfast was limited. Complaint dealt with poorly. Very glad I was only staying for one night.

This was a great little hotel for my wife and I. It is for sure a “boutique” style hotel. The rooms are small and there is a small inconvenience that you have to walk through the bathroom to exit the room, but for just the two of to spend a quick weekend in Palo Alto together it was GREAT! The hotel is VERY close to University Ave where all the restaurants and bars are. And it is a quick Uber/Lyft ride to shopping and other dining.

My room was on the first floor. It was very noisy - because the floors aren't carpeted, the guest upstairs sounded like they were having a flamenco dance party until midnight. There was a loud buzzing and clicking noise every 5 minutes in the room that I couldn't find the source for. The room was just off the very noisy breakfast room that filled with people at 7am. The conditioner and shampoo bottles in the shower were out. The room was VERY small, and there was no place to put my luggage except on the floor. When we arrived, the key card maker was out, so the very nice staff had to let us in and out of our rooms anytime we came and went. Great location! Comfortable bed. But wouldn't stay here again.

Clean hotel with very helpful staff. The room walls are not too thick. Maybe because we were right above the lobby and in front of elevator so it was a little noisy at night. Beds are a little firm, could be softer but linens were nice. Overall a good stay for the money spent, thanks!

Simple hotel without the frills but extremely well located right in downtown Palo Alto - walkable to Caltrain station (2 minutes), Stanford and shops/restaurants on your doorstep. Friendly and helpful staff, would definitely return here.

First of all i arrived to be given a room that hadn't been made up. IN fact it was filthy - crap everywhere, rubbish and dirt towels. Was then givn ethe top floor suite but could not get reliable internet coverage the whole time I was there. I t was terrribel, complained multiple times, to no effect. I had a zoom meeting in the morning I had to do on my 4G mobile mobile. Then not enough room for breakfast and has to end up waiting half an hour. Fir the proce and location it was terrible. The worst I experienced on my US trip, for what was about the most expensive hotel I stayed in.

No hot water in the shower. Air conditioning right on top of the bed, very noisy and funky smells. For all of this of course over prized.

Location was good as it is near restaurants and coffee shops. Room was very small and there is not a door for the bathroom. I would skip the “breakfast” here as it was not very pleasing.

We chose this hotel because of its convenient location only one block away from the train station. It's impressive how this modern hotel was packed into a relatively small space with lots of ingenuity. The room was clean and quiet, the bathroom with shower was good and the bed was comfortable so we slept well. Breakfast in the lobby was modest and included a weird brew from an ultra-modern, space-age coffeemaker. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our short stay as it served our purpose well.

The location can't be beat. Minutes walk to Stanford, restaurants, coffee shops, and coworking spaces. It is a short walk to bus/Caltrain to get you into SF. If you have louder neighbors, you might have an unpleasant experience because noise travels really well through the walls and hallways. I was lucky enough to not have this issue in my three nights there, but I could see it being a problem. Overall, this older building has some flaws, but it was a comfortable sleep and the convenience of the location was worth some minor issues. I will be staying here again. I also wanted to give an update on items mentioned in previous complaints: - The heater was less-than-stellar but got the job done, if slow. - The bathrooms have sliding barn doors. - The windows do face a brick wall. This isn't a surprise looking from outside. - My shower had hot water during my stay, so I didn't have this issue. - My coffee maker worked. There is also a Nespresso machine downstairs in common area. - The concierge is sometimes in the adjacent room, not always at the front desk. This didn't bother me, but may some people.

Worst stay this year so far. My partner and I stayed at this hotel, and had a horrible experience, starting from the time of check-in. There was no front desk to help, only a security guard who had no access to the hotel computer system used for check ins and room availability. We reserved and paid extra money for a king deluxe room, and the security guard gave us a small room with a full size bed that was next to the lobby. We also weren’t provided a room key to access the room. My partner and I had trouble sleeping that night. On top of this, they never replied to our email after reaching out to them about these problems. They’re very unprofessional, and don’t deserve a single star after an experience like this.

CONS: Until I arrived, I wasn’t aware the view from the window was a brick wall of neighbor building (would have been nice to know). I needed to turn the thermostat up to 85° to reach a normal temperature. In-room glasses were not cleaned well. The coffee maker did not work . PROS: Nice shower.

No hot water for a shower in the morning. I heard several other guests complain to the front desk, but my shower was fine at 11a on my first morning. But at 8a on the second morning, barely above ice cold. My other complaint is that the rooms are so tiny, that there is little room on either side of the bed, and the platform is made of wood with sharp corners, so I kept scraping my shins. Ouch. I chose this hotel for its low price: proving that you get what you pay for. Avoid this hotel!

Make sure to request a room on the right side of the building, as there is a nightclub on the left side. We could hear and feel the bass from the bar in our room until 2am. It was an unpleasant situation. The rooms are small but clean and it is a pretty easy walk to Stanford.

The room was very disappointing. It's extremely small - thankfully I was solo this trip otherwise we'd be tripping over each other. There is no closet, no where to really put your suitcase/bag, bathroom counterspace is minimal, the toilet lid doesn't even open all the way, you knock the toilet paper off the holder when you sit down, the HVAC unit is right above the bed so if you want it on overnight, the air blows right on your head. The worst part of it all was the shower - it smelled horribly strong of mildew/mold, so much so that I had a headache within a few hours of being there and lasted for 2 days after my stay. This wouldn't be the first place I'd recommend to stay but it's not the worst. Knowing the size of the rooms and the price, I'd consider staying solo again but would definitely bring attention to the bathroom smell.

Room was tiny but adequate. We stayed the night for an early medical appointment the next morning. Room very clean. Shower is tricky - if you don't know to aim the shower head toward the wall before turning on the water, it sprays all over the floor: bad design. The pillow felt like a bag of rocks. The complimentary breakfast was good, with wholesome offerings. Front desk staff very accomodating. We scored a parking place on the street.
- 5/5
Clean, cosy, free breakfast and centrally located. Only downside is that there is no private/on-site parking. Parking in Palo Alto is difficult and limited although all-day parking is available at $25
- 3/5
Dirt blew out of a really dirty air vent all over my bed each day. Front desk was never there. No coffee restock in room. Really could use a parking solution for guests.
- 4/5
This hotel is perfect. Well located, easy walking distances, super clean, very friendly, loved the bed and pillows... everything was great except for the noise from a bar close by - but let the front desk know and they'll call the bar and ask them to turn it down.

Everything appeared new in this hotel. rooms are small, but have all the necessities. Unfortunately I was placed right by the elevator and a crew was working in a room next to the elevator the morning of my check out. It was very loud and hectic. Also, it appeared that they missed the floor when cleaning my room. Other than that, would definitely come back to Keen- would just inspect the room and ask for a room away from the elevator or crews working.
- 3/5
Modern design, but very simple. Had one luke-warm shower. Also, phone in room was disconnected, so was not able to call for service. They should fix that.

The room was very clean, great location a very short walk to restaurants and shops. The room was extremely cold, however, even with the heat cranked up all the way. Staff gave me an extra blanket. Walls of the hotel are very thin, I could hear my neighbor's cell phone buzzing even though it was on silent. Bring earplugs! Windows are glazed over, making the rooms feel a little enclosed.
- 4/5
If you need to be downtown, this hotel is very convenient, cheaper than the big ones 6 blocks away at the edge of town. It is literally a 1.5 minute walk to the train, which I took from the airport and which is efficient to get around, and empty even during rush hour due to COVID panic and work-at-home. The downside is that the room is very small, and also my room was without a view. The bathroom, very pleasant otherwise, has a curtain rather than a door, which might bother you, but not a big deal if you're alone.
- 4/5
The person who was manning the desk had terrible customer service. He was not helpful. The room was very small, but very clean.
- 2/5
Front desk wasn’t there when I arrived. I asked about restaurant around area, she had no knowledge after arriving 10 min later. There were bunch of people were waiting for her ahead of me. The room was small, carpet was soiled pretty bad. There’s no fridge. It reminded me of some cheap motel. It’s not worth the money I spent.
- 5/5
Check in was easy, room was nice and clean. Wish there was a small fridge and lobby was stocked with food all the time.
- 2/5
Bathroom door is a curtain, no tv remote, construction going on on third floor that made relaxing in enjoyable, one glass in room
- 2/5
Hotel rooms are run down. Gross stains on carpet, bedding that is ripped, and walls so think you can hear everything in the next door rooms and hallways.
- 3/5
The hotel was within walking distance of needed public transportation. Overall, a good hotel with the exception of the very lukewarm shower--
- 4/5
I was in a cozy room. It is super tiny as advertised. Totally fine if you are only sleeping there- otherwise no room or amenities.
- 4/5
Rooms were small, but it is a boutique hotel. The bed was perfect for us as it was pretty firm. My main complaint would be that our room wasn't ready until after 5pm (3 pm is check in), but in the days of pandemic, I am sure they were understaffed.
- 4/5
These rooms are TINY! The hotel's location is what makes it such a gem. One would not want to work-from-anywhere in these rooms. That said the small space is very Scandinavian in design with cool materials and great bath products. Breakfast in the morning feels like a European treat. No doors for the bathroom, and walls are very thin such that noisy neighbors might disrupt sleep. Staff is very friendly and helpful esp John.
- 2/5
Disappointing property for a Palo Alto location. Room was noisy and had to move to another. The advertised "breakfast" was a muffin. Not even any juice or yogurt. The staff was excellent and did the best they could. Would have chosen a different hotel had I known.

Good location. Loud and noisy. Very small rooms for 2 people. Friendly staff. Mattress was just a little uncomfortable on my back.

The property was nice, clean, and walking distance to restaurants. Good location. The only thing negative for me would be the mattress, it was very firm and pillows were not comfortable.

In the center of downtown activity without the noise
