Really handy location, close night to City Walk and the town older parks, whilst far enough away to feel away from the action. Will be back again.

By far the BEST hotel ever

Beautiful resort with an amazing vibe!

It was very specious and the facilities were good Sometimes the staff were a little slow to facilitate requests. For example I looked for an extra cover for our rollaway bed and had to contact guest services three times in order to get it.

The property was located very close to Universal and the boat transportation was excellent. The theming of the resort was also excellent! The rooms are a little dated but overall very comfortable.

We were pleasantly surprised to hear our room was ready at 7:30 am (which felt almost unheard of!). Since we were heading straight to the parks, we decided to check it out later. In hindsight, the early readiness was a bit of a red flag, especially considering the hotel staff checking us in had said the hotel was fully sold out the night before. Unfortunately, the room didn’t seem to be cleaned very thoroughly. There was hair in the tub, small bits of garbage left behind, and the towels had visible makeup stains. It was a bit disappointing after such a great first impression and coming from such a high cost hotel stay

Our room was clean and spacious. The resort was so pretty and transportation to and from the Universal parks was very efficient. It was difficult to get from the lobby to our room. We had to go down a flight of stairs (elevator) then to another building and up an elevator and down a long hallway.

Check in took a little while around noon because all four staffs were tied up with various issues with other guests. The property was amazing. We really enjoyed the gelato shop and the scenic boat ride to the City Walk. Room is being serviced every other day which was a surprise to me.

Booked the hotel for the express passes at the park, which worked well. Some of the housekeeping and maintenance was a little lacking. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Gardens looked beautiful, sadly we didn't have the weather to explore them. I definitely would not pay the money just for the hotel.

We booked a garden view on East Wing but got upgraded for my wife’s birthday to a harbour view which was stunning. The whole hotel is beautiful especially the harbour area, so calm and relaxing. The Thirsty Fish bar was really good and Sals market deli had really good food and large portions.

Convenient, special, lovely and helpful staff Room could have been a little cleaner for the price (around windows, the tiles in the bathroom bordering the wall etc).

Hotel is beautiful but the rooms need a little update and maintenance. It’s centrally located so transport to Universal City Walk Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure just a boat ride away. Quick ride to Epic as well, so super convenient. Overall I was pleased with our stay. With a little updating of the bathrooms and maybe adding a few amenities like free bottled water for the Kerig and/or a water filling station in the ice machine room, this would be a perfect 5 stars.

I want to give a shout out to this hotel, my son came down with food poisoning and they allowed us a later check out at no cost to give us time and somewhere to stay til our next hotel

The Hotel was amazing, exactly what we wanted. Nice big clean room with a view of the lake and court Yard. The staff were very friendly and the express pass that is included was a great bonus. Great location to the parks with a boat ride or a 10min walk to City Walk.

Beautiful hotel but overpriced with no amenities. I guess you pay for the location as it’s a 15 min walk or 5 min ferry ride to universal.

That said, the hotel is pricey for what you get onsite. The rooms are spacious, but they do feel a bit dated for the cost. Service was good overall but not consistently exceptional. The restaurants and room service are average…not bad, but also not exceptional. The pool is also average…was looking forward to the hot tub…warm, but def not quite what I’d expect at a resort. Overall, it’s a great choice if you plan to take advantage of the park perks—but not the best value if you’re looking for a luxury resort experience.

The staff were great, the location was perfect, the beds were really comfortable and the general vibe was very relaxing. The buffet restaurant wasn’t great and is a poor offering for how good the overall hotel is. The queues for the water taxi is the morning got quite long.

The hotel is in beautiful settings - as you approach it, either on foot or by boat, it is a real treat for the eye. The staff were very helpful and our room was well presented and spacious. It would have been helpful to have had access to the pool areas, which were unavailable due to “inclement weather”. The challenge with that is that there is very little else to do with kids when you’re staying in a hotel, so some thought about how to keep the pools open in the rain would be valued.

We especially loved the peaceful walkways, the stunning architecture, and the cozy evening lighting—it creates such a relaxing and romantic ambiance. The pool area was fantastic, perfect for both relaxing and enjoying time with family. Everything was well organized and never felt overcrowded. What really made our stay special was the overall experience—the attention to detail, the atmosphere, and the way everything just felt easy and enjoyable. It’s a perfect place for a family getaway, a couple’s retreat, or simply to unwind and recharge. We truly enjoyed every moment and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Excellent choice for visiting Universal Studios

It is a beautiful place with great restaurants and a delightful Gelateria! It makes you feel like you are in Italy before heading over to the craziness of Universal.

We rented the room with 2 Queen beds that fits 5 people. The room was big, spacious and very clean. We all loved it. The only thing we noticed was that there was no fridge, so we had to end up throwing away the meat that we bought for wraps and sandwiches to take to the park with us. Also, there was no exhaustion fan in the bathroom, which was an inconvenience. The restaurant with the buffet optional menu was fantastic! We all loved our stay very much.

In some cases, the closest elevators opened to single-door entrances or exits, which added to the accessibility challenges. Additionally, housekeeping carts were frequently left in the middle of the hallways, and because they are electric, they couldn’t be easily moved. The rooms themselves were clean and well maintained. This feedback is based strictly on ease of navigation and overall accessibility, not cleanliness or service.

Price of food. In the Trattoria during lunch, very small menu alternative but great prices. Even I have the money, is absurd to pay $25 dollar for a chicken sandwich of less than 3 onces. In my room the TV don't function.

The property is beautiful. It transports you to Italy. The restaurants were great food was good cocktails delicious and atmosphere was wonderful. The location to the parks was great. I enjoyed the walk. Only one place to grab and go for coffee . Lines were very long.

Beautiful property, including the beautifully landscaped Villa pool. Room was very comfortable. Mama Della’s Ristorante was charming and the food was delicious. Buffet breakfast at Trattoria del Porto was also delicious but the chafing dishes didn’t keep the food hot enough. Our waiter, Bryan, was a gem!

Italian Restaurant on site was delicious! We got coffee and breakfast at Starbucks each morning. Ferry was never a long wait. Staff was friendly! Being able to check our bags for the day was definitely helpful.t

We loved our stay, family of 10 with adult children! They were so accommodating with putting rooms close together. Transportation is so reliable and every employee is so nice and professional. Our check in was seamless. This is our third stay at the Portofino and love it there!

Beautiful hotel with great service. The staff was warm and friendly and very helpful. It was great to enjoy the lovely ‘Italian’ hotel after the hectic pace at the Universal. The included Universal Express unlimited and the boats to the parks made the entire stay seamless.

Staying at Loews Portofino was unforgettable. The scenery was breathtaking—it truly felt like being in a charming Italian city. Taking the boat to Universal Studios was both convenient and a beautiful experience.

Reservation for 5 people were made. But there was not the greatest. We paid for 5’guest and there was not a bed for 5th person when we entered the room and there wasn’t towels for 5 people either. The sewers were very noisy and made a lot of noise. Bath tub was backed up and water would fill when taking a shower. When we asked for more towels for the 5th person the towels smelled like cheese really bad.

When we asked for more towels for the 5th person the towels smelled like cheese really bad.

Lovely family stay, starting with a great check in experience. Loved the convenience of text notifications when our room was ready, as well as regular touch points to ensure we were having a great stay. We really enjoyed the pool, and the express passes and boat transfers to the parks were a great addition. Highly recommend for a family visit to the parks.

On a positive note, it's great to have a base to relax in when the rain closes the park rides. All staff here go above and beyond, I hope they are well rewarded from that $1000 a night room fee! The boat ride to and from the park is wonderdul, but be careful not to dare stand up before you are permitted to or you may be barked at by an official! They may use please and thank you, but when the words are barked, they kind of lose their meaning! Also, if the boats are unable to operate due to bad weather, expect a lengthy wait for the complementary bus (about 30 mins for us). Again, this didn't feel right for a $1000 a night hotel. I feel this time was our last stay at the Portofino. Regretfully.

The room and bathroom were spacious but the beds were much smaller than expected. It was advertised as queen beds but were doubles. The facilities at this hotel are amazing. And the boat transfer to the universal parks was quick and easy as well. The staff were attentive and friendly... Overall a lovely stay in a lovely hotel

Great hotel great friendly service. The express passes help make the rooms more affordable. No lotion in bathroom a disappointment. Other amenities good. Will stay again when visiting Universal.

Very nice property. probably needs some paint work on outside looks dated, One of the restuarants known for pizza which is also a deli had horrible service we waited over 1 1/2 hrs and finally cancelled the pizza order . They were too busy taking mobile orders. Customers on site were upset. Location is perfect. Everything else was Awesome!

Place is beautiful with an amazing staff . Very well located , with really fast transportation to all universal parks , plus great restaurants in the resort.

Clean, comfortable rooms, and cold AC. A pricey hotel but worth it for the location, express pass, and an overall excellent hotel.

Trip was good. Communication could be better. First we were told our key card was our fast pass for Universal Studios…..only to find out later this did not include Epic Universe. Then we were told a shuttle ride to the airport was included only to find out this is only the case if you made reservations through the hotel directly and not through Hotels.com. We had to pay for a ride.

The room was large. We were on the 1st floor with a bay view. We had a patio door and a table and chairs so we could sit outside. Water taxi to City Walk/IOA/US. The pools were nice.

Love everything about the hotel

Staff at check in was great and was able to get us adjoining rooms. We had dinner on property and it was delicious and convenient.

Supposed to be a suite, it was not. Forced to go to a handicap room. Was supposed to have unlimited express passes for Epic, it was not. Was supposed to have early entrance, but it was not for Epic. Worse most stressful vacation I ever had!

This property is the most picturesque and iconic when it comes to being in Italy without being in Italy. We have been visiting this Lowes Portofino Bay for 5 years and have not been disappointed once. Convenience of the property to the park, available transportation, cleanliness of rooms and pool areas, safety and most importantly outstanding customer service.

We stayed for one night to get fast passes and upgraded to club level, every aspect was well worth the money we paid. Beautiful hotel and probably the highlight for the kids was the night time movie in the pool.

We stayed here for 9 nights in Club Level and enjoyed our stay. House keeping is clearly overrun, sometime our room wouldn't cleaned until after 6pm which was a bit frustrating when you'd run out of towels etc.. beyond that all good, Club Lounge is a nice space, you can easily eat a decent breakfast and dinner there.

The hotel itself is very nice, but the room was just ok. For the amount of money paid per night, the room was pretty bare, nothing special about it at all. The only thing that made the hotel worth the price, in my opinion, is the fast passes that were included for the parks. Overall, it was clean, ok enough, and I would stay again, but only for the fast passes.

Loved being able to text for requests and check out and have immediate, friendly responses. The room was clean and bright, and the beds were comfortable. The shuttles were plentiful and efficient and we very much appreciated that.

Hotel is very nice and quiet. Was able to check-in early, leave or bags to go to the park and receive a room is ready text around 2-2:30 pm.

The staff was very friendly, the water taxi was a great way to get to/from Universal, and the rooms were wonderful.

Beautiful, clean hotel

We stayed here for our 3 days at Universal studios and it was very convenient. The water taxi to and from the park was short and readily available. I would recommend staying here again. The breakfast buffet right on the grounds and made it easy for us to grab a bite before heading to the park for the 1 hour early access. Also the express passes was also included for the stay which was a huge bonus and made our trip even better!

Excellent, everything was great, beautiful hotel, pool and scenery. The express pass and early access were nice inclusion, as well convenience of water taxi to and from the park. Only wish they inlcuded on demand movies in the room like disney. 20$ to 30$ to rent a movie is kind of ridiculous when you spend 500$ to 1000$ on a room.

The hotel was beautiful and had everything we needed as a family for our trip to the Universal parks. The ferry was convenient and frequent. We did rent a microwave for $15/night, but otherwise everything we needed was readily available.

This was a really nice location to stay at while visiting Universal Studios. The overall experience was nice. It was clear this place was do for some power washing and new paint. They are currently doing construction, while we didn’t have any issues with noise or anything it did take away from the overall experience. The restaurants were quite nice and the staff very polite. Something’s would have been better to know ahead of time, like before checking in, just go straight to the parking garage and park first. Overall would recommend. The mattresses are in need of replacement, very uncomfortable.

Loved our room and all of the special extras. But what really made it five star was that every staff person we interacted with was helpful, friendly, eager to do what they could to make a memorable stay for us. Keep up the amazing work!

Major construction was being done on the outside of the property causing noise and disturbances.

It's a wonderful place however it was under construction and there was plastic over our window so we had no View
