The location was great spot for the parks and to visit alot of places to eat. The room was clean and fine. No issues with checking in or through the stay. Wish there was more lighting in the room. It was not very bright with just a small table light and ceiling light. The ac was nice but did keep cutting on and off throughout the night so it would wake me,but im a person that sleeps with noise. Breakfast was fine but didnt have many places to sit and could not bring any back to your room.

The Hotel was ok but did have some issues with my room so had to get switch to another room the lobby was always packed with customers so you could barley talk to anyone about your concerns but the worst part was the charging for parking $15 fee which I thought to you was a complete slap in the face how you have to pay for parking and they still charge you for a deposit also and on top of the parking fee they included a service fee with that which came to like $36 dollars charge to your card and separate transaction for your deposit thought that was ridiculous so with that being said I told myself I would never stay at the Hotel ever again so beware of that before you book!

Room was exactly as expected and it did what it needed to do. Towels were missing on first night, but I assume that was a simple mistake. The shuttle to the parks was 10 minutes late in the morning and in my opinion is scheduled too late for optimizing a park visit, especially considering it stops at other resorts along the way. The return time is also really early when it comes to maximising park time

Nice value hotel located close to universal properties. Check in and check out was easy, staff were helpful to the process. They provide papers for information about the shuttles if you wish to use them, if not Ubers are relatively fast and cheap to the parks. Nice size pool available, and long hours for it. Good amount of restaurants located nearby, as well as convenience stores ( ex: Walgreens). Would stay again.

It was an overall decent stay for what we needed, however, be advised expedia says no hidden fees. BUT there is more to pay, a deposit and parking fees. Which the hotel emails you and tells you all that. Also, note ask for extra towels. Our room only had enough for one person and there was 2 of us staying.....so ask for extra towels right off. If you ask me if i would stay there again, the answer is simply no. The bed was super hard, but it was enough for us this trip. Also, laundry room only had one washer and one dryer working and no change machines. AND the tv was in spanish and didnt work for us lol

Room was very dated and limited on outlets so we could not use our CPAPs. Our room was on the 3rd floor on the side where the elevator was broken so we were told to go up the elevator on the opposite side of the building and walk all the way around, the stairs was a better option. The air filters must be dirty because after one night I woke up with a sore throat that progressed to an upper respiratory infection. It was okay, but would not stay there again.

Listing was incorrect. I booked the double room, pictures on hotels.com showed king and two queen beds. Upon arriving to hotel, they told me a double room is two queen beds. I then had to pay extra to upgrade room to suite. Upon arriving to the room, we found a condom on floor under the sofa bed. The hotel moved us to another room. The carpets we’re disgusting, I had taken a shower and had clean feet. I walked around the room and before getting in bed, I noticed that the bottom of my feet were black from the dirty carpet. In taking luggage to car in morning, there was empty vodka bottle laying behind my car in addition to other trash. They give you parking voucher but make you get it validated at guest services in hotel which tries to pressure you to see time share place.

how closed it to the parks Check in was the worse front desk Hispanic lady the worse and her managers during that time also no help, we got ignore the entire time at. During breakfast, I felt uncomfortable due to the way food selection was being observed. It created a feeling similar to being back in school and being watched over what we choose, which made the environment less welcoming. Additionally, some of the food tasted old, as if it had been left over from previous days. This raised concerns about food freshness and overall quality.

Took us a hour and a half to check in, the lobby was full and one working. She said our room wasn’t ready and couldn’t give us another one, they had to go in order. We were second at the counter. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told he was making rounds. The next day I stopped at the counter and the same lady had a name tag on that said was supervisor. Was lied to! The room was very run down and needs much improvement. Everything was dirty about the place. The tv kept going in and out and fussy, remote didn’t work. The key to our room malfunctioned, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn’t. My recommendation would be pay a little more and get something decent. The breakfast was far from edible except for the 2 cereals they had. This should not be called the Grand hotel but the Scammed and filthy hotel. The shuttle was good but ended at 6 pm, so we had to miss the Mardi Gras parade. It needs to run a lot longer.

This is a reconditioned hotel. They have done a decent job with the rehab, but like in many of these rehabilitation projects, the devil is in the details and you can see that in the painting and the caulking, particularly in the bathrooms. There is some rust and eventually the rust will corrode inside the concrete, and they will have to tear it down or find new ways to temper temporarily rehabilitated for more use, but all in all it was a pleasant stay. The front desk took 2 mins to get me checked in.

Our first issue when arriving was the fact that the A/C was apparently either off or not operating because of how intently hot it was inside of the lobby. We were greeted by the friendly hotel staff but weren’t made aware of any deposit that needed to be made. Surely they could’ve advertised better a heads up for hotel customers that they’d need a deposit upon arrival but nonetheless we agreed and got swiftly checked into our hotel room. When we entered the room we noticed the TV didn’t work

Booking website and the hotel fees did not match. The room had the sheer window curtain but was missing the blackout curtain, so we had the bright outdoor lights shining in our room all night. The TV would not just turn on, and the instructions to input a code did not work. The QR code on the TV did not work either, except taking us to a part that asked us to pay $9.99 for some plan. The "FREE TV" button on the remote did not do anything either. We were unable to use the TV at all. The breakfast was limited and not good. We wanted bagels or oatmeal but the only breads were assorted mini muffins (not great) and very white bread. When booking it mentioned shuttles to the Universal Theme Parks but there was only one pick up time at 8:30am and one drop off time to the hotel at 6pm. That does not allow for visiting the park the entire time it is open, or coming back to the hotel if need be, so we thought we could save money on park parking by taking the shuttle but we could not. The front desk concierge informed us that the 3rd party website we booked through was misleading, and that all the details are on their website. It defeats the purpose to book through a 3rd party site if we have to verify everything or read the fine print on another site.

Breakfast options were limited but taste very well. Prior to booking a property fee was made aware. Additional fees were hidden and disclosed upon arrival such as 50$ deposit and 15$ nightly fee for parking per car. There is a sign stating there are smoking designated areas in lobby but there were customers smoking right outside lobby door filling up the lobby and cafeteria area with the smell. Staff did not advise people to move to alternative areas.

Furniture in the room was falling apart. Not very clean. Still had urine splatter on the toilet seat. Pillows are very small and lumpy. Key card would stop working and I had to make multiple trips up and down from four floors to the office to get back in my room. Price looked reasonable but after you factor in all the fees you might as well stay at a Hilton.

Once we got there, they tried to charge us an additional $110 for the stay when me reservation clearly stated no additional fees. We were then advised that the elevator was broken. The photos definitely didn’t match the current quality of the hotel and the staff had a very poor attitude.. Needless to say, we did not stay there.

Will never stay here again. Check in was supposed to be 3pm. Did not get a room until SIX PM after coming in even earlier than 3 and was told check in was firm at 3… yeah right. So if someone checks out late and you know someone is already trying to check in why don’t you assign them another room?? Ridiculous. Also only ONE person working the desk when so many people are trying to check in. Floors were dirty, the tv had lines in through it and constantly had a static noise sounding like it was gonna blow while it was running. Beds were hard and the breakfast was completely inedible my 2 year old wouldn’t even eat it. Will NEVER stay here again.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had stepped onto the set of a retro thriller—think Bates Motel, but with fewer thrills and more chills. The floor? Dingy and moldy. The door locks? Straight out of the 70s, and about as secure as a diary lock. Our adjoining room had two locks that didn’t work, but don’t worry—the previous guest left a chair barricade as a helpful tip. Amenities? If you consider doll-sized soaps and shampoos luxurious, you’re in luck. Lotion? Not in this time capsule. The bathroom had its own ecosystem of mold, and the mattresses were basically cardboard with a foam disguise. The real plot twist? Bed bugs. My daughter couldn’t sleep the first night because she was itching so badly. Turns out, she had an allergic reaction to the bites. Bottom line: This isn’t a hotel—it’s an indoor camping experience for those on a budget and with a taste for adventure. If you’re looking for comfort, security, or cleanliness, keep scrolling.

Check in took an extremely long time around 2 am due to unresolved issues with another guest. After finally checking in, we were surprised by extra charges, including an amenity fee and a daily parking fee that were not clearly disclosed when I booked it. We were assigned a fourth floor room in a separate building, only to find out the only elevator was broken. This was never mentioned by the front desk. When we reached our room, the door would not open despite using force. The door was already dented and visibly damaged. A staff member eventually arrived, slammed into the door until it opened, and offered no explanation or apology before running back to the front desk. Inside the room, the towels were damp, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the shower made loud noises. The shower door was also would not close properly. Outside, the situation felt unsafe. A homeless man attempted to follow us from where we parked, hooting like an owl at us. I grabbed my keys and honked repeatedly to get him to leave. We were traveling with a seven year old who was terrified. There was also loud activity late into the night at the convenience store across the street that we could hear until around 3 am. A group was drinking on the stores sidewalk and blasting music/dancing until 3 am. Overall, this was a stressful, uncomfortable, and unsafe stay. I strongly recommend avoiding this property.

I could have overlooked the dated rooms and rusty fixtures in obvious need of repairs. However, the customer service was deplorable!!! First, It took us 45 minutes to get checked in and we were blindsided by several hidden fees. The next night, we returned to our room after a long day at the parks and had an issue with our key card not working. We went to the desk to get them re activated. There were 2 people there and one person stuggling to help several frustrated parties with multiple issues and the other doing everything in his power NOT to help her. He ignored her, went to the restroom, went outside, and shut himself in the office despite her many pleas for help. When he finally came to the desk, he was visibly annoyed. After we waited 45 minutes, he reluctantly reactivated our cards but was very rude about it. We asked for a roll of toilet paper and he rolled his eyes and replied that it wasnt his department and proceeded to dismiss us. We were understandably annoyed and wrote a negative review about our experience on Google. When we checked out the next morning (at 3AM), this same employee had the audacity to berate us for leaving a bad review (apparently he must have gotten in trouble with his supervisor). No one in the hospitality industry should be allowed to speak to customers in the manner he did!! I can't believe management would allow this type of behavior!!! HE NEEDS TO BE DISMISSED IMMEDIATELY!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

They didn't charge us extra for something we wouldn't be using, but we also had a lot of trouble getting into the room because there were no working digital keys. Because of this, we had to leave a day before our reservation was supposed to end. I tried contacting Expedia, but it was impossible.

We’ve booked here a few times prior and will not book again after this stay. Our room door lock was literally taped on with electrical tape. Room was clean, but we got a sheet essentially to sleep with. Otherwise service was terrible. We were never provided with the WiFi, and when we called front desk we were hung up on. Didn’t even bother going to the front desk as there was always a wait of numerous people waiting hours to check in. One night, our room keys were deactivated (known by staff that this was to happen). We then went to the office, and were waiting with others who had been waiting 3 hours to check-in. We had to wait 45 minutes for a room key… 3 days into our stay. When we told the front desk lady what happened, she acted like we should’ve known this was to happen. No one told us, just like we couldn’t get any WiFi information. On the last day of our stay we tried to see what options they had for breakfast. Everything looked disgusting, burnt, or old. For the “resort fees” this property charges you’re better off booking with a nicer hotel. It may advertise $50/night but for a four day stay you’ll pay $600+ in resort and parking fees as well. Don’t stay here! We never will again!

Lodge. You pay the Expedia fees and think that’s all you have to pay, but when you get to the hotel, they charge you $35-$55 extra. Even though you’ve already paid! Expedia needs to remove this hotel from their listings. Not to mention, we were sleeping a little after midnight, and an employee busted into our room without knocking.

Yes it was a little downgraded for the price they charge. A lot of fixing needs to be done. Building needs to be painted. They charge $15 per day for parking which I thought was ridiculous because they have signed saying park at your own risk. No security watching our cars so why pay that fee. And the resort fee is also ridiculous they don’t offer any amenities. Breakfast was cold and food was over cooked. Won’t stay here again. The only reason why I booked there because it was what I found after our other hotel over booked us and we had to find whatever was available at 7:00 in the evening.

The room was nasty. We walked into the room and immediately left and checked out due to the room being visibly dirty, the lamp shade had what looked to be mold on it and the floors were covered in filth. The hotel looked sketchy upon arrival. Since it was non refundable stated anyway. There were dead bugs on the floor in the room. Pretty sure one of them was a bed bug. I have a large bite on my back that is now infected. It’s either a spider bite or a bed bug bite. Waiting on the doctor toll look at it. The bed was also very uncomfortable.

This hotel is old and rundown. DO NOT BELIEVE THE PICS ONLINE. There was black mold at the base of the bathroom door. Mildew on the lampshades also. Needs new room doors. And they charged me for parking when Hotels.com advertises as parking included. They also charge for early checkin and have the AUDACITY to charge a resort fee. This place is NOT a resort. Front desk “supervisor” Lorna was very unfriendly and borderline rude. Would never stay again.

The room was fairly clean, with some stains under the sink, and in the bathroom. The beds in my opinion were quite comfortable, however my wife (who has scoliosis) found them to be too soft. We found a dead roach by the toilet when we got there and i flushed it, it's Florida it is what it is. The one thing that really bothered me was check was at 11 a.m. and housekeeping came pounding on our door at 10:10. Before i was even able to make it to the door from the shower they were trying to open it! Thankfully the latch was latched.

Room next door had someone constantly throwing up and room above me have very loud music playing and they kept moving the furniture. My first and last stay here never again. Check in was an hour long process due to long line and one clerk, who stated this is normal. Then paid extra fees, a parking fee, and taxes on top of the online price. Who charges their guests to use their parking lot? Get to the room and the door won’t open, we had a room with an upward rotating door handle? Maintenance stated this had been an ongoing unresolved issue. I didn’t see a single elevator without an out of order sign taped to it. Room was 7/10, clean with good ac, hot water and towels. Joinng room door did not have a deadbolt to secure it. The sound of sirens and loud exhausts offered a wonderful melody throughout all hours of the night. Most likely won’t return.

So...the front desk checked us into a third floor in a building with a broken elevator. And the hotel was practically empty. Why? The room was so substandard. I had to fight to get the sink stop to open so it would stop collecting dirty water. It was so stuck. We found a roach in the bathroom. And I HATE roaches. During our recent stay, we encountered several issues. The door did not close securely, requiring multiple attempts to latch properly. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the room did not meet our expectations, and the service provided was unsatisfactory. The first room given was 4th floor and pool view. Opened the door and hit with the odor of mold. Found it growing on the walls, plumbing and upholstery. Immediately went back to the front desk for another room and was given new keys... To another room infested with black mold. It's on the walls, furniture, plumbing and even the headboards. I took photos and went back to the desk to ask what our options were. "Unfortunately, you booked with Expedia. We cannot give you a refund and we have no other rooms." Wow ... I'm at a loss. I paid for the trip protection insurance. Hopefully it will reimburse us for the room and other fees. We ended up leaving after calling customer support and booked another hotel. If you have COPD or a compromised immune system, book a room somewhere else. And make sure you pay the extra $10 for insurance. Just my 2¢.

This is my second time staying at the Grand Hotel Orlando and it seems like the hotel continues to improve over time. The facilities, overall, are older and with that comes some things that are not always in the best condition. For example, I think every lamp in the rooms I have seen thus far have a significant amount of rust on them that make them look dirty. However, I can tell that the staff is keeping the rooms clean and doing their best to keep improving upon the hotel. For the price, this location offers a lot and that is also a big plus, in my opinion. I look forward to hopefully staying again soon.

Tried to explain to a lady something was wrong in our room but she just kept saying “I no understand”. The hotel was in POOR shape. The bottoms of doors and walls were crumbled away. They used the “just paint over it” method for anything else that was damaged. Door knobs were broken and had to be finagled to get in your room. Breakfast was literally powdered eggs, rock hard pancakes and cereal with a weird tasting milk. We had a do not disturb sign on our door but still had employees knocking. Not worth the money. Cheap Hotel, everything is painted over to cover the mess. looks like water damage happen because the raceways to the lights still had water damage rust. Fly's all over the place rooms the carpet looks like is never been carpet cleaned in the last 20 years. also the lamp shades had black mold on them also. Some how other people where keyed to my room lucky I had the sliding lock on. because the 2am wake up calls of people tried to enter my room I guess they where keyed to my room was not fun I hate to setup something with the chair to wake me up if someone came in... Also talking to the front desk telling WHAT IS GOING on they delete my keys had to go back and get the keys re-setup again I could not sleep after finally getting back to my room close to 3am.. Will I stay never again. its a run down hotel with paint cover up also the bathrooms dont vent so maybe why black mold is showing. Also if IT need to fix the wifi my room has the AP for my side of the hotel so that would be a fun day someone else coming in my room. Also the shower stuff is not sealed to the show frame so again creating mold problems. Also room cleaning service only showed up 1 time out of the 4 nights. Also the towels are ripped and look never cleaned grey and black spots on them. I think the breaking point was people keyed to my room and trying to come in 2am when I am yelling in bed hey someone in here..... See Pictures for the other problems.

This hotel was spacious but it’s really disappointing. First the TV was not working, the toiling can’t flush. Laying down in my room the housekeeper just pop open my door without knocking and asking permission to enter . Also I bought my mom there and they went into her room and clean without she’s being there or get permission. This is so ghetto and you can’t bring food in your from from the dinning area. I won’t return.

Pool was cold - no gym - breakfast was good but pretty much everyday the same breakfast. My son and I stayed for a week. The room was clean but don’t expect a 4-5 stars please or perfection. But it’s clean and a good price. No extra fees for amenities or parking which is awesome. I would go back there anytime.

Self check-in was a joke, checked in but didn't realize it sends you an email to tell you your room number and didn't really understand the wristbands real well. 1 night we didn't have any hot water for about 3 hours. This hotel isn't worth the price they charge. Average rooms, your paying for the water park. Won't stay again. Also I never saw anywhere where it says $100 deposit for each nite. And then $35 a day for parking, REALLY? Oh well lesson learned.

Check-in was super easy, checkout was even easier. Only stayed one night and the hotel served its purpose as a one night hotel. There was definitely mold in the vents but it’s Florida so I kinda just expect that at this point. Overall decent, not great or terrible.

I arrived 45 minutes early to Grand hotel, and when I asked for my room. The lady at the front disk told me with an attitude, that I have to wait tell 3:00. I had the room for three night and not 1 day did they clean the room. The workout equipment was out of order. Had to go to the front disk to have towels sent to the room. The lady in the lobby was very unprofessional, I didn’t have a microwave in the room. I had to go to the lobby to warm up my food.

Towels had spots on them, they didn’t have towels for us one of the nights we asked, the door to enter the room you had to swipe like 5 times and do a weird thing with the handle to even open the door!

The front desk people were amazing but theb1st room i was put in the air didnt work, no internet and no pool view that i paid for, so they switch us rooms. Ok great! Get to the next room.. air works a lil better pool view but not really and then you look and black mold all over the lamps, bathroom along tub. Towles were dirty phoke didnt work to call front desk, had to walk up multiple time to get servies.

I usually go for cheaper hotels and therefor they’re usually slums (you get what you pay for, I know) and that’s what I was expecting with this place because of the price. I was pleasantly surprised! I booked a room with a king bed and ended up with a room with two full beds, but it worked out fine either way. That’s the only “complaint” I have, which isn’t even really a complaint but might have been a problem for another person so it’s the only reason I’m mentioning it. Everything else was great! Will definitely be coming back.

Can’t beat the location! Shuttle was timely and convenient (departs 9:30a and 11a return pick up at park is 6p). Breakfast was “alright” but definitely enough to get your day started! Best part was we arrived at 9:15am (early flight) and were planning on leaving our bags with the concierge but the room was ready! What a great surprise! Hotel rooms are a little beat up BUT clean and beds were SO comfortable!

Bathroom is EXTREMELY SMALL. Toilet clogged, sink doesn’t drain properly, TV doesn’t work, the first 8am shuttle was PACKED with other people from another hotel, our staff was rude, they have to take my card info down because their machine wasn’t taking debit cards so I never got my deposit back. God for bid you need utensils outside of breakfast hours, the lady at the front desk with the birthmark on her face was extremely RUDE. 0/10

Location is ideal and the convenience of having a complimentary shuttle to Universal Studios is a massive plus. The hotel although slightly outdated, is very clean and the rooms are good sized with comfortable beds. Breakfast is your average continental option. Wifi isn’t reliable and the tv wont work without it. Half of our stay the wifi was down.
