I liked the breakfast included with the price. The room was nice and clean. An iron board with iron and blow dryer was included which was helpful. A nice little kitchen area with coffee was provided. What I didn't like was that I asked for a bottom floor because my husband is in a wheelchair. We ended up on the fourth floor! I had to leave him alone as I walked up and down unloading my car! He has vascular dementia with Alzheimer's and leaving him like that is difficult for me.

Highly recommended. The staff was professional and courteous, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast bar had a nice variety and the food was delicious.

It’s on a very bad neighborhood, and the pool was closed 3 days out of the 5 we were there, the hotel was very dated!

The entire parking lot was dark when we arrived at 11pm making for a very unsafe feeling walking up to the hotel. Even the sign light was out. When are got to the doors, we rang the buzzer repeatedly and finally had KNOCK on the sliding door the get the attendants attention. I inquired about the completely dark parking lot and got some crazy response about how something is going on and even the internet has been out for 3 days. There is 1 ice maker on the property and it is as far away from any rooms as it could be. The bathroom door in our room jammed overnight and my husband almost break it down for us to get in.

everything ws fine except the property is showing its' age. Peeling seats in the eating area, crack in the skin not repaired-those type of things. The staff was amazing from the check in person to the maintenance to the kitchen staff. Breakfast was standard continental breakfast and efficient for a traveling family. Outside property was beautiful. There was a peleton in the gym which was really cool. I would stay there again. OH, and the mattresses were in very good shape.

The reception staff were very nice and friendly an all days - very happy with that. What was very disappointing - bed linens were awful. It looked like they weren't changed. Comforter was stained and dirty. I left a note asking to change linens and they were changed next day, however, the stay was spoiled to the point we wanted to change hotel. The breakfast area has seen better days as well.

I’m traveling from Florida for work.

We werein town for one night for the Brandon Lake concert and I think this hotel was a wise choice. Breakfast was good and we felt welcomed by staff. Only minor complaint is that we were given a handicap room which is fine but the way the shower drain was, caused water to get everywhere in the bathroom floor. This could definitely be considered a hazard for someone with a handicap.

Love that the location was easy to find. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and smelled good. The bathroom needs a ventilation fan and new shower curtain rod and the base of the shower is definitely used and felt like it was sinking into the floor. The pillows left a lot to be desired!!

When we arrived, the toilet and shower were filthy with brown streaks all over. The front desk said that they could not clean the room as it was too late, so we used the lobby toilet for the night and decided to figure it out in the morning. As we left in the morning, we let the front desk know that our bathroom was dirty, and they apologized and said that it would be cleaned while we were out. We arrived back that night to it never being cleaned. The front desk then sent someone up to clean it, but they only merely wiped down the outside of the toilet seat, and didn’t get any of the mess that was on the front of the seat or on the inside of the bowl. It’s overall not that big of a deal, but it seems like cleanliness was not a priority, and that made us uncomfortable on where cleanliness was compromised in other areas of our stay. I will also say that the music in the lobby is very loud and we could hear it in our room in 207, even though that room is not above the lobby. When asking the front desk if they could turn it down, they said they had no ability to and to simply turn on the AC to drown out the noise. Our room was cold enough and we did not need the AC, so instead we had to listen to loud music all night long, that sounded like someone was playing music right outside our window. Overall, I would not be back due to the lack of effort from the staff to address our concerns.

Up to par, near the main highway, close to stores.. breakfast included in rate I needed the 1st floor and was given the option of a handicap accessory room which was fine with me however the floors need to be spot mopped as there was residue of some sort on the flooring. It was in the middle of everything and very clean

The breakfast ladies were very friendly and accommodating. I really felt comfortable and relaxed in that environment. Especially the woman originally from Louisiana, sorry I can’t remember her name , but she was extremely helpful and engaging. At the time I was by myself so I really appreciated her affability. There was nothing not to like except it felt like the hotel was a little of the beaten path.

The staff was very nice. The breakfast not so good. The sausage tasted fake, and the bagel I had was not fresh. Our room was not cleaned very well. There was hair in the shower and there was black particles on the bedding. I had to brush them off. There was also spots left on the couch. We also had to kill 2 spiders. Out of 10, I would rate it a 6.

The front desk employees were kind. There was hair in the shower when I walked in, stains on the sheets, crushed roaches on the floor. I left immediately and didn’t stay there.

The price, the breakfast and the staff. Room was dirty, specifically the shower, the floor and the nightstands. The nightstands had some kind of hair on them. I bought disinfectant wipes to wipe the nightstands off. I also tried asking a staff member that was cleaning the rooms to vacuum the floor when she knocked on my door; however, apparently she didn’t understand English, so I vacuumed the room myself. Also, starting at about 4:30 AM a dog from the houses in the back of the hotel, where my hotel window was, would start barking and continued to bark throughout the morning. Staring at about 5:30 AM every morning there was a rooster that started making its sounds until sunset, so my sleep was continually interrupted from the dog and the rooster. Warning: don’t stay in room 435 or any room in the rear of the hotel because you’ll mostly experience the same.

Location is terrible as there is always a ridiculous amount of traffic in this area. Upon arrival, I found a used washcloth in my shower with someone’s hair all over it. The bathroom in general was not very clean. The pool was also closed. Other than that, the hotel was good enough for a one night stay. Definitely won’t be staying again, though.

We put in our notes that we needed a crib. When we checked in they said they were out of cribs. We had to leave and asked them if they were going to be able to get a crib before we returned and the staff assured me that they would. When we returned that night around 9pm, the staff informed us that they didn't get one and there is nothing they could do about it. It's frustrating because we have an 8 month old who needs to be in a crib and we would not have booked this property if we weren't going to have one. We checked out immediately and had to find another hotel who had a crib for us. Extremely inconvenient, especially with a toddler and 8 month old. If you need special requests, I would not recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was very good! Martha was amazing! She worked so hard to keep replenishing all the breakfast options and keeping the area very neat and clean…she deserves great recognition and a raise.

Room was nice and well laid out, and very quiet. Coffee maker and complimentary coffee pods in the room was nice. Complimentary breakfast area was very clean and had plenty of available tables. Additionally, the variety of food was very good and was delicious. Front desk staff were super (especially the overnight lady, possibly Crystal)! Cleanliness was a bit subpar. There was nail polish on the wall in the bathroom. There was a candy bar wrapper on the floor beside the bed, some sort of garment clip on the floor and worst of all, someone's clip-on fingernail on the floor. The hand towel was either stained or had makeup on it. Overall cleanliness, however, was okay.

Wonderful room! Very spacious and immaculate. Convenient location with adequate parking and restaurants nearby. Breakfast is included but after a week, it was very lackluster as the only thing that changed was the breakfast meat selection. Scrambled hotel eggs daily got old. Also, suggestion to management..just buy regular bread for your toaster. I realize the big slices look nice but they do not fit in the toaster slot. You have to toast half in a very slow toaster then turn it over and toast the other half.

Overall clean but there’s sand in the couch… not properly vacuumed. Breakfast is great! Staff is friendly.

Stayed here while visiting College of Charleston (about 15 mins away by car). Loved the property and room! Breakfast was wonderful. The hotel is in a cluster with other similarly nice hotels, however, it is also super close (walking distance) from so NOT so nice "hotels" where there appears to be a lot of shady activity. That said-the hotel is secured at night (front doors lock at 9 and access only by keycard - this was casually noted by staff without prompting at check in and later in the evening while venturing out for food, it clicked as to why) and we always felt safe and enjoyed our stay at this property.

Bed was only better than the floor. We had 2 other families walk into our room the first night and the Breakfast was not good other than the waffles. Worst hotel experience we’ve had in a while. We only got one apology from staff and rekeyed our room 4 times in 3 hours.

The pool was closed for maintenance, so that was disappointing. They did not have brochures for sightseeing. The rooms were very nice and roomy; beds were fine and there's an extra room with sofa and desk, which was very helpful to me. The bathtub/shower floor was very slippery, so I would bring a non-slip mat from home to help with that. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Like to give a special shout out to the breakfast lady, she was very polite and works very hard as well as keeping up with people’s needs! So thank you!!!

Staff was exceptional, friendly and responsive to our needs. The facility was clean for the most part. There were some stains on the couch, however. The thermostat was malfunctioning. We would set the air conditioner for 72 and it would be freezing so we would turn it up to 74 and it would reset itself to 72 and we would be freezing again Ran out of hot water before i even got my hair rinsed out..

A very nice place to stay to visit Charleston, SC

I liked that the sink area was separate from the toilet and shower/tub. The sink had a shelf above it along the back wall which added extra counter space. Mini fridge, microwave in the mini kitchenette was nice. Bed was comfortable. Shower pressure and temperature was great. TV was between the bedroom and living room so you could watch it comfortably from the bed closest to it. Our ice bucket was used as a peanut shell trash can from a previous guest; it was full of peanut shells. Some of the pillows need replacing. The tissue dispenser was empty.

There were tiles that were not raised (not safe), paint job wasn’t great, our sheets seemed to barely fit the mattress and kept popping off on the corners while I slept, and the bathroom plumbing randomly made loud noises.

The AC in the room worked well. The staff did not know if eggs for breakfast had dairy. There was no single vegetable for breakfast. There were no herbal tea options, only black and green. The sink was located outside of the bathroom which was very disturbing and woke up everyone everytime it was turned on. Not very convenient.

Staff was excellent and accommodating. Mold in the bathroom and terrible water pressure. We did not have conditioner upon arrival. Beds were remade by us. Lastly one of the pillow cases was hard and crusty upon arrival.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and a nice size. And the free breakfast in the morning was absolutely amazing! I overslept maybe about 30 minutes after checkout time and they were understanding and gave no issues and no additional charges! I give this hotel five stars!

I booked and paid in full through Expedia on Feb 4 for a March 6 stay. Upon arrival, I was told my reservation was canceled due to a “technical issue.” Instead, they moved me to their TownePlace Suites next door, stating both hotels are under the same management and nothing could be done. My reservation was for 3 adults and 3 kids (6 beds). The new hotel only has 4-bed rooms. This should have been obvious before moving us. With no rollaway available the first night, I slept in a chair while my wife shared a bed with our kids. The next morning, I spoke with the manager, who oversees both properties. He was dismissive and offered only a rollaway and extra pillows, telling me to call Expedia. He even claimed the rollaway was “probably a queen”—it was a small twin and smelled so bad no one would use it. I slept in the chair again the second night. Expedia eventually refunded me, but we were stuck due to high prices elsewhere. This feels like intentional overbooking and shifting prepaid guests to a lower-quality property. The lack of accountability from management across both hotels was unacceptable. I would not stay here again.

Clean, convenient, pleasant stay. Only complaints would be the pool didn't look clean enough to swim and the backdoor neighbor, right outside our window, had a rooster that couldn't tellbtime and crowed at all hours.

The hotel had a smell. The bathtub had a hard water stain in the middle. The room needed repairs. I also could not purchase water because they ran out. The lady that checked me in was very sweet. I was there from 1030pm to 345am. I will not be back.

Our stay was just an overnighter but everyone there, from the desk clerk to housekeeping, were very professional, kind, and courteous. The room was clean and welcoming and the breakfast buffet was greatly appreciated. We've got a grandson at MUSC who will be down there for at least a couple more months and if we do any more overnighters on our visits, even though SpringHill Suites is still a 20/25 minute drive away, we'll be staying here. If I had more than two thumbs, they would all be up. In the meantime, looks like they'll have to settle for two. 🙂👍👍

Decent room and breakfast. After checking in at 11pm with my luggage, I had to go back to car to put a parking sign on my dash. I also had a cockroach in my shower in the morning.

The pools situation made me upset. The first night there were so many people, we could not enjoy it. The 2nd day we were there all day and could not enjoy the pool because it was being treated. While I respect that, I feel like I should have been refunded some money, but was told no.

So my family and I have been staying at this location for a few years now! I would say that we love the location as it is in close proximity to everything that Charleston offers! There were a few concerns with the hotel being that the indoor pool needs to be cleaned overnight so ready for action during the day especially with children! Also there was a barking dog and roaster that was going on at 6am pretty much every morning during our stay which was a little annoying staying on the first floor! The hotel needs some renovations and updating! Overall the stay was pleasant and probably would give another shot on next visit!

I checked in last night about 8:15 in the evening on January 4th and I was tired and a little grumpy the front desk clerk was so nice she smiled she helped she was so helpful it really put me in a whole different mood the service there is by far the best I have ever had

Cons: * Day 2, Early Afternoon- Non service dogs on premises. My son is allergic to pet dander....need I say more. *Day 2, Evening- From approximately 6pm until after 2am, army of 8 year olds next door, partying, with questionable adult supervision. Approx. 10pm physically went to front desk to discuss and could hear the screams, loud banging noises overhead in the lobby. Security was sent to address the issue. The noise continued. Midnight, I opened my door, saw 2 adults leaned up against the wall, not stopping the noise but listening to my conversation in my room. They asked if their kids were too loud. My response, "It's after midnight, YES!" Day 3 AM/PM Barely slept for 2 days. Left the noise at the hotel to return back to it, non stop. Phone didn't work in the room so I had to physically go to the front desk. Front desk called their room, no answer. Security knocked on their door, no answer. Front desk asked if i would be willing to move because the other guests rented 2 rooms. I declined. Front desk w/security knocked on their door, demanding to speak to the Mom/adult supervision, who weren't available. Approx 30 minutes later, peace and quiet.

Everything was good until the false fire alarm woke us up at 7:30am. No announcements were made. We decided to leave the hotel earlier, but other guests did not pay any attention to the evacuation alarm. Fire department truck came to the hotel and left shortly after. We never been in such highly rated hotels when the fire alarm was activated due to a false alarm, but nobody informed guests about cases and required actions.

Everything was fine. The only complaint I have is that with breakfast, the bananas they had almost had a gray hue to them kn the skin. As if they were going bad. That's not appealing if you are trying to have customers eat them.

They did have a great breakfast. Fresh fruit, an oatmeal bar, sausage and eggs, waffles, cereals, all the juices. It was wonderful.

This is our second stay. We like the location, the cleanliness, and the staff. This isn't the fault of the hotel--but the rooster at the home behind the hotel is a nuisance to restful sleep. It starts crowing loudly at 4 am some days, 5 am other days and goes on and on every few minutes for hours. Better sealed windows -- and a warning for light sleepers to avoid rooms on the back right of the building.

We stayed in room with the GREAT area with desk and sofa, felt just like a small living room, it was soooooo awesome to have so much space and beautiful layout with bathroom in the middle of room, and our own sink near the entrance was AMAZING!!

I tried to change my Expedia reservation five minutes after I had mistakenly gotten the wrong dates unfortunately you refused to change it and so did the hotel who said they couldn’t change it through a third-party. They said that Expedia could change it. Expedia didn’t change it. What are the odds that I’m ever going to use Expedia again

I was initially checked in to someone else’s room and then upon rectifying and removing my payment info from that person’s room my two rooms I paid for in full were absolutely disgusting. The couches and beds were soiled and crusted over which means no one has cleaned…the floors were filthy, the bathroom was disgusting. I had to asked for bedding and cleaning supplies. They also don’t change bedding, I had to but refused my refund but made me work as I was staff. I ended up writing an email to the CEO AND Chairman and cc’d the complaint email for Marriott. There is no way this establishment has 8.6 excellent review rating unless they were speaking solely for the staff (front desk and Tyrone). They are the only good they have.

There was a lot of construction taking place around the hotel and it was raining so the journey in was a bit messy. The parking leaves a lot to be desired, as the spaces are sparse and small. Upon arrival, the person who greeted us was extremely kind and friendly. After entering the room, I noticed that there were several questionable stains on the dark brown sofa. I then proceeded to look around the bathroom to see many small hairs on the floor. I also, observed stains on the comforter that were the color of blood. During the night the room got really hot and muggy, as if the air wasn’t working properly. The phone on the table was old and dirty. Lastly, when exiting the hotel, the front desk staff were talking to each other and were rude when we said goodbye.

Prepaid our reservation. When we arrived we were told they were overbooked and had no room for us. They sent us to their "sister property " and assurred me that the room would have the same setup for our family of 4, 2 beds plus a sofa bed. When we check in at the next hotel they gave us a room with 1 bed and tiny sofa bed with an absolutely unacceptable "mattress " that No other rooms avaliable and I was told they were doing us a favor. I had to ask for sheets, blankets, pillows. We were NOT given a comparable room and were NOT compensated in any way.

Other than the friendliness of the staff, this hotel did not deliver the typical Marriott experience. The bed was lumpy, the paint in the bathroom was peeling off the wall, the shower did not drain well and there was mold around the lower half of the tile. The room smelled musty and it looked as if no one has ever cleaned the area around the air conditioning unit. Although, the hotel was located close to the interstate, the area surrounding it seemed unsafe. I saw one couple in the lobby that gave the impression that prostitutes may frequent this hotel. I did read one review where the guest was upset because he/she was kept awake by a dog barking nearby; although, I did occasionally hear a dog bark, it was nothing compared to the rooster that lived nearby. Starting around 5am and continuing for at least an hour, my family was kept awake by the incessant crow of a rooster. Needless to say, I will not be staying here ever again and would advise others to consider staying somewhere else.

Breakfast was so so. Scrambled eggs and a rotating meat. The area to the west is rough. So was the Walmart to the east. It takes about 10 minutes to hit Ashley Road due to traffic. There's a bunch of semi traffic. Dining choices are limited. The staff was very friendly and professional.

Nice clean, quiet room; within reasonable driving distance of downtown Charleston. Very much appreciated the on-site charging station for the Tesla, as well as the excellent breakfast offerings.

I have stayed at other SpringHill Suites before. This one seemed on brand for the space (room size) and breakfast but not so much in terms of cleanliness (carpet needed vacuuming in room and hallways and rooms needed to be cleaned better. The bathroom needs updating like the other SpringHill Suites. The beds were super comfortable.

Every single employee there was kind, polite and helpful! The Chick-fil-A of stays. The breakfast bar was better than most hotels like this. Our room was comfortable and I will be back!

The cleaning staff needs to do better

Staff certainly should reconsider their careers in the hospitality industry if they cannot be accommodating to guests. I didn't even check-in to either of my reservations because the clerk I engaged with over the phone was so unprofessional, rude, over talking and yelling at me, that I took the loss of points AND money to avoid even more confrontation. There is obviously no accountability for staff behavior because many reviews of this hotel states similar issues. The fact the Marriott would even allow this type of behavior to be associated with their brand is shocking.

We were only there the night before and a few hours after a flight. The staff at the front desk was very polite and seemed to know the area well including food places. We picked this place based on price and location to the airport. Will consider this place again when in the area.

The only area I’d suggest improving is offering a wider variety at the continental breakfast. Other than that, everything was excellent. The front desk staff was outstanding, especially Tamarah and the African-American woman with glasses and curly hair, who checked us in on Saturday at 1:00 and checked us out this morning. She was absolutely amazing, and I wish I had caught her name. Overall, I’d give this hotel a 10/10 and would absolutely recommend it!

Customer services was contacted prior to my visit to price match and I was denied a refund. I did everything to prove the opposing rates and expedia customer service rep refused. She was new and unsure of status. I believe that I was unjustly denied the refund because of her inexperience and my inability to escalate the claim.

When we first arrived for our week long stay it was a little rough and had to change rooms due to our bed not being really clean. But after talking to Tamara at the front desk she was more than helpful to make our trip better. The next day i experienced watching how hard all the workers worked at their jobs and believe our one experience was just a fluke. Everyone from house keeping to food service was so pleasant and were always hustling. The one employee though i feel need to recognize though was Tamara. The entire week we would actually look forward walking into hotel after a day of sightseeing to tell Tamara about our day or just talk to her. You have a shinning star in that one! We will be back next month to stay again visiting our son who is in the Navy. Thank you to your entire staff!

Check-in was quick and easy. The room and lobby were clean and neat. Shower pressure was great. Location is good close to highway and many food and shopping nearby.

The desk staff was delightful! We enjoyed visiting with them, and they were very helpful at all times! I hope they all are still there when I come back in November! The breakfast was good and the facility was very clean. The location was perfect for me to pick up and drop off my Son, who is a Sailor in Goose Creek. Disappointed the pool was closed for our entire stay. When we checked it they said it would be open until 11pm at night. We came back to swim that evening and it was closed. It was also closed in the morning all the way up until when we checked out. There are a lot of other hotels in that area and we chose this one because of the indoor pool which we enjoyed when we stayed there last time. Staff were friendly and welcoming and breakfast was ok.

The front desk was very friendly and enjoyable. The bathtub was less than favorable. It had yellow stains and small holes in the grout between the tiles. I stayed on the 3rd floor and loud thumping sound from the occupants directly above us was constant all night and early mornings. It was extremely irritating.

My overall stay was positive. There are a few things that could be improved upon. The breakfast buffet could offer my fresh foods such as fruit salad. The fitness room appears to have a leak. Some of the ceiling was coming from the wall and you could hear dripping as well. Lastly, the property needs to conduct a pest removal. Roach was found in my room and typically when there is one there are more. The staff were very friendly and the property was well kept otherwise.

This is a perfectly fine hotel, but it backs up to a marginal residential neighborhood. If you stay here, make sure you request an even numbered room for the front side of the builiding, and not the back. Otherwise, your alarm my be a dog at 5:45 a.m.

The night desk clerk was awesome. However, the day desk clerk was terrible. She was rude, LIED to my husband about checkout time, then lied to him again when he called corporate office to double check that she was incorrect about her information, she lied again. She was training a new employee and had no business training anyone else on how to do customer service. She was rude, unaccommodating, sprayed aerosol freshener around the breakfast food, lied to her customer, and refused to allow them to speak with management. Worst service ever. How is it there are people who are more than willing to do a great job and customer service, and waiting to have a job while this person is being paid to care less about the customers and company she represents?! Unacceptable.

Our room could've been cleaner. My comforter had remnants of a glitter glue on it. There was old blood on one of my pillows. The bathroom door didn't completely close and the water in the shower was always cold. When I called the front desk about the cold shower, I was told that the water was cold due to the number of people showering at 10:30 pm. When my daughter and I tried showering in the morning, the water was still cold even when we moved the temperature to the hottest setting. Ibcalled the desk again and was told the same thing. No one offered to send anyone to check on it or change our room. We were only there for a few days, so I didn't mind keeping my room as long as someone fixed the water temp. I was told no one was there at the time to deal with it. When no one showed, we tried the middle of the afternoon and the water temperature remained the same. I think if someone would've shown more concern about our cold showers, I would've rated higher.

My stay is always good here , front desk women are super friendly however my bed was a little discomforting this time around. And my shower didn’t work properly BUT I told the front desk and by the time I got back to my room the shower was MARVELOUS!

The stay and room was very nice. My husband often has to get up in the night to sleep more upright. The extra chair could have been more comfortable (really wish hotel rooms had recliners.) Also, the coffee was pretty bad. But the breakfast selections were very good. Really liked the blueberry scones.

I received several knocks on my door in the early evening as well as late night from someone unknown to me followed by calls from someone claiming to be hotel staff saying that the employee who checked me in didn’t save my credit info and they needed it immediately or I’ll be asked to leave even though I prepaid before my flight. I felt very uncomfortable and didn’t get much rest I was eventually moved to another room but from the uncertainty of not knowing who was being so aggressively unpleasantly harassing me my trip to Charleston was ruined. The area around this hotel has zombies strolling all on the sidewalks by the restaurants prostitutes, pimps, and drug pushers. But the hotel itself was decent in looks but it had a dangerous feel for me personally

The room itself was clean; however, getting off the elevator the entire floor smelled musty and dirty. The carpet is extremely old and nasty . The staff was the only pleasant thing about this Hotel. I will not be booking here again.

The front office staff were very welcoming & helpful. It was so nice to be welcomed with a smile everytime you returned. The associate would say welcome back with a big friendly smile & ask about your day. Our room was nice but is starting to show its age. The breakfast was good & the bathroom in the lobby & reception area were beautiful.

The staff was wonderful. From the front desk to the breakfast crew to the housekeeping, everyone was friendly, helpful and very sweet. Traveling just me and my teen daughter, we felt extremely safe in the hotel. I like that the doors lock at night. Everything was clean and fresh looking. We very much enjoyed our stay. I will be staying here again on our next visit to Charleston.

Room was clean and spacious. Found everything I needed. Breakfast was good. Check in was a breeze. The sparkling water in the lobby was great for cooling off with the heat wave.
