Pool closes early. Breakfast was superb.

Room 129 the toilet handle kept getting stuck so it will make noise. They didn't have no sheets for the pull out bed in the room. Had to go up front and get it. The breakfast this morning was okay. They ran out of pancake mix and closed it down earlier

We were always greeted when we came in and sometimes when we left. Everything was clean and well kept. There were plenty of choices for breakfast. The bathroom was roomy and bright. Could’ve used a make up mirror though. We would definitely stay here again!

Over all stay was okay. Something in the room had us sneezing and scratchy throat, think it was the sheets from the laundry soap. Thin walls and floor could hear everyone around me and the people above walking around. The AC was not good at, the function buttons were gone and no matter how cold you dropped the room the AC would turn off and made a rattle noise.

Stayed for one night for our son’s Accepted Students Weekend at Charleston Southern University. Hotel was very close to University. Room was Clean and staff was friendly. The Hot Breakfast was an added bonus. Would stay again.

Expensive for a very average stay. Breakfast was okay, but nothing to wake-up early for. The rooms were clean but did not smell fresh. Parking felt safe. Front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful.

I didn’t notice it until the next morning as we checked in very late the night before. The room was warmer at night despite lowering the temperature. It was too late to call front desk. Excellent place to stay. We were on a family road trip and slept in multiple hotels on our way, this by far the best of them all. The location is great if you want to explore the historic district which is 15 mins away. The rooms smelled amazing, everything was very neat and clean. They have an excellent complementary breakfast that made the stay such a wonderful experience for the kids and us. This is our favorite new hotel to revisit!

The tub was stopped up. One guy complained about our 18 months twins stomping on the floor, which I thought was crazy. We ended up leaving the hotel a day early!!!

Breakfast was filling and the environment was homey, clean, and comfortable. I couldn't get the TV volume to work.

Rooms were clean. Housekeeping was in the room everyday of our stay. The breakfast was amazing, something for everyone, and coffee 24 hour availability was appreciated. We did not experience any loud noises in the hallway. Staff was friendly. Handicapped bathroom has adequate handrails, very helpful. Not really a complaint, but an observation. The bathtub is a bit difficult to step into for a handicapped person (high). The hand rails help.

Room was clean but the microwave was in poor shape with a cracked tray and had a burning smell. Breakfast was decent, coffee was good. One night the police were banging on a neighboring door at 11:30pm which wasn't a great experience. Seems like lots of workers stay there but not ideal for families.

Clean room smelled delightful very nice staff. The toilet paper was to thick for me, I clogged the toilet and the stopper in the tub was broken and kept going down .. the phone didn’t work so I had to go all the way downstairs to let them know I needed a plunger. I didn’t have breakfast

The front desk lady was wonderful! After working all day and then driving down, I was exhausted but her upbeat and friendly smile was wonderful to walk to see.

Abby and the rest of the staff were friendly and professionals. They took care of our needs. The property was well maintained. Breakfast was awesome and the workout room was great.

Cant get electricity out of them without manipulating it and kinking the chord to put pressure on the connection point. If they worked, that was only way. Usb ports same. Either dont work or have to manipulate chord. All outlets. Exhast fan in bathroom dont work at all. Called front desk from their room phone, they cant hear anything I say. Entry way light was intermittent which was fixed the next day.

I don’t think this deserves the 9.2 rating it has. They stopped filling up any breakfast items early. So we weren’t able to eat much. The front entrance smelled like smoke and the facility was just average. 30 minutes from downtown. I can say there are better options in West Ashley.

The staff is very helpful and appeasing to whatever your needs are. If you have a problem or unpleasant situation, this is the staff you would want to handle it. I would recommend this hotel due to the staff members that exhibited great leadership skills and the way they went out of their job expectations at hand to give you a memorable experience.

Nice staff. But I was unable to get the fan on the thermostat to stay on unless it was actively heating or cooling. I usually use this to block outside noise, so I was awakened all hours by traffic/sirens and sounds of hotel doors & other guests alarms. The bed was also much too firm, which was super disappointing - I had been very much looking forward to sinking into one of Marriott's reliably comfortable beds. Very clean, new, great design & decor, and staff was very nice

We always like to stay in HI Express because is clean I love the entire hotel including the rooms smeall clean!!! The beds and batrooms are always clean and the attention from the employees are nice.

The reason I’m was nice, would like to have had a real ironing board. Not just a table top, when there not a table to put it on. There could be better lighting. Breakfast food was good.

I’ve stayed here several times visiting my son at the naval base. I just love this hotel and the employees. They are very friendly and welcoming. My favorite part, there is a stray cat that has been “living” there for years. Of course the employees feed her and so do the guests!

Breakfast needs to include more than just coffee and juice for drinks and I was disappointed we were put in a room on the first floor by the breakfast area so it was really loud. The people above us were super loud. I had literally asked for a quiet room because we are literally sleeping and leaving. We got there at like 9 o’clock and we left at 6:30.

The man at the counter was amazing his name was Don. Our a/c wasnt working he got us ficed right up. My inly complaint wa when were changing rooms the housekeeper manager was a little testy, as we carried some hangers and towels from old room to new room and she she demanded the hangers feom the new room so they could have for old room. Then the next day we didn't want our room cleaned and i asked for some new towels and she demanded the dirty towels. I get people steal but not all of us do ao i felt shw was a little agressive. Otherwise everything was great. Even a sweet little calico cat mascot in the parking lot they said they have taken care if for over 9 years. She was a cutie!

My mother and kids stayed here during our family trip to Charleston. Rooms were spacious and clean. There is a pool and fitness center plus a help yourself coffee bar in the lounge. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

I loved that the hotel was nice from the outside looking in but they had just lost power before we checked in and nobody told me on the phone when I was heading to the hotel and then the staff was very mean and rude for me asking how long until the power was going to be on

The pool and the fitness center were in unacceptable condition. The pool was dirty, lots of leaves and debris with slightly greenish water. The fitness center was dirty. The floor needed to be mopped, and the carpet mat was so dirty it left my hand black and stuck with dirt and sand when I did pushups. Lastly, the treadmill could have severly injured me. I was running at a good pace, and it shut off mid stride. Luckily, I was able to react in time, but there was clearly some type of electrical malfunction. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk the reply I got was "Oh, well nobody has complained before." I couldn't believe my ears. This is why I rated service with 1 star. Unfortunately, other than that girl, the staff was amazing, but I just can't let that slide, she ruined it for everyone.

I waited at the front desk for over 10 minutes before any staff even came out. They got a 200 dollar deposit. The hotel snack store had absolutely nothing to drink. When I got to my room my TV didnt work. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn Express again. Horrible experience.

We stayed for two nights and the staff were excellent and accommodating. However our bathroom needed some updates. Even with the use of the shower curtain, water ended up everywhere when we used the shower. The shower area needs some fine tuning. The back of the bathroom door needs some work.

My husband and I stayed because he had a full day of appointments with his surgeons and cancer doctors. It was only an overnight stay but it made a great impression. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Had a wonderful staff and a great morning breakfast. When someone is going through such a scary and uncertain time in their life, something that may seem small, like a hotel room, actually makes a huge difference in your day. We felt welcomed and secure. We will be staying with them again in the future. Thank you for your kindness

My room had a smell. It looked like upgraded furniture in an old room. The air/heater was not central and the fan kept blowing the curtains. The front desk person told me the ice machine was on floor 3 (I was on floor 4) and that there were no vending machines working. The desk person told me if I wanted a beverage I should go to the gas station " it's just over there" you can walk and she pointed.

I liked that the front desk personnel and housekeeping services were very nice! Room was very clean. What I did not like is my TV was not programmed and I was told maintenance said they did not have the proper piecing for the new tv. I also did not like as I wanted to wash clothes, one lady had the washer and dryer literally the entire day and the front desk said there was nothing they could do about it.

Check in/out was quick and easy and staff was very kind! Daily Breakfast was great. Facilities were very clean and up to date. Housekeeping was excellent and very appreciated.

We had a toilet that wouldn't flush every time. We called the front desk for them to come fix it and no one came. They finally came later that night when we called again, but it wasn't a convenient time since everyone was taking showers. By the time we left, it still hadn't been fixed.

Decent location for a Charleston vacay

The outdoor pool was dirty. When asked we were told that no one is there to clean it over the weekend, just during the week. There was no iron or blowdryer in the room. We could not connect our Mac to the free wifi and front desk gave us a number to call but no one answered.

We were in town for the Cooper River Bridge Run and on the morning of the race we have to leave at 6am to get to the start on time. The staff were so kind to put out a table of bananas, oranges and waters for the participants. That was so considerate since breakfast wasn’t served until 6:30. I appreciate the extra thought for the racers. It was simple but you can tell how much they care for their guests. The staff was engaging with all the guests every time we came in. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a hotel staff this friendly. Thank you for your kindness. We’ll see you next year

Other than that, it was good

We would definitely stay here again. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, which is my 2nd top priority. My 1st is cleanliness. Our room was very clean. The bathroom was a little ran down. All employees we interacted with were friendly.

This property in North Charleston was very quiet, affordable and staff were pleasant. It was a little too far from my daughter at CofC but wasn’t a deal breaker.

I truly enjoyed my stay! The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bed was super comfortable and I was super grateful for clean bedding as the last hotel I stayed in had hair all through the sheets. The staff was also very nice & greeting us with a smile. Will definitely stay here again if I ever I am in Charleston again.

The only complaints I have are that the breakfast could have been better. There were lots of choices, but mostly the same food everyday. The staff was awesome.

Toilet was clogged on arrival and I was handed a plunger and told to plunge it myself. Also phone in the room didn’t work.

We stayed for 4 nights and it was pleasant.

I had no issues. It is located in the college district and school is on break so maybe it would be different with school in session.

Also this was the loudest room I’ve had. Some kind of outside noise all night long .

Property was very clean and the staff was friendly.

Beautiful hotel with spacious, clean rooms in a nice quiet area. The only complaint I had was the breakfast options. There were 3 different sausages and no potatoes. The eggs were not great and not a lot of choices for oatmeal toppings. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it and the area

And the front desk representative was very polite when we checked in.
