The property itself is nice. They were redoing the parking lot when we were there. The breakfast always has plenty of options for kids and adults. This was our 2nd year at this property and the staff was not as friendly as the first year. When asking for more towels because we were only given 2 for a family of 4, it seemed like we were bothering them and it had to be approved to give us more towels. The bathroom in our room did not have full Shower Gel, Shampoo, or Conditioner and it never got filled when our room was freshened. Really like the place and location, but the attention to detail was off this year.

Had to change rooms due to blood being on the sheets.

Room was clean and comfortable. The pillows were great and the shower was nice. We didn't hear any excessive noise. Breakfast and coffee were bare basics. There is a Denny's in the same parking lot.

Hotel was clean and well-maintained, but not a big fan of the mattresses. They felt a lot more like loose springs with a thin topper than the standard firm downey feel of mist hotel beds.

Air conditioning was Rey loud and woke me up every time it turned on. The bathroom toilet paper roll was too far from the toilet.

Coffee was in the room but no coffee maker. Could not find a hair dryer anywhere. Generator was running all night outside of our room. Not sure if it was related to the renovations currently going on? Kept my husband from sleeping well

Breakfast was good. My biggest problem is that you find out about renovations after you have paid. There were ants mainly in the restroom and yes we informed the staff. They waited until 10 pm and asked if we wanted to change rooms or they can spray, but would have to leave room for 2 to 3 hours. Why not offer that service while we gone all day long.

The hotel is currently undergoing a remodel, but the staff is doing a great job keeping things clean and making the stay a good experience. I have stayed here multiple times in the past and my experience is usually a good one.

The tv inside the room didn’t work. I want to. Shout out Antoinette. She the lady that prepares the breakfast. She does a phenomenal job and she is the reason why I stay at this hotel when I come to Norfolk. I will continue to stay there as long as Antoinette is there. Love her!

Paid for two shipping labels for hotel to ship my stuff back and staff called and said they have my stuff, paid 2 shipping labels, now conviently lost all my stuff. Wants proof of people sending proof. Elevator not safe as its held together by duct tape, charged an additional fee once got there . Room not fully clean with hair throughtout tub.

Hotel staff was polite, room was clean and spacious, although we specifically booked that hotel for the pool and it was down for maintenance our entire stay, elevators were questionable, and early every morning they would do construction work on the floor above us or below us and it was very obnoxious. Not a horrible experience, but I wouldn’t stay there again.

Breakfast was good. Would loved to have bacon and real sausage. Mattress was worn. King size had dips on both sides and hump in the middle. The front desk did write this down so perhaps the next guest will have a new mattress.

There was a floor being renovated that was not disclosed anywhere in the website. The pool was closed for maintenance which was also undisclosed. The Internet went down 2x during our check-in, which took nearly 45 minutes. I would not have stayed here if I had known about the renovations.

Rooms were clean and large. Free breakfast was very good. Shower did not work (staff gave us another room nearby to shower in). Not enough bed linens for the trundle bed That we needed to use. Elevator (1 then both) were out of order. Pool had to close.

Conveniently located. I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding the condition of my room and the level of service I received during my recent stay at your location on Newtown Road in Virginia Beach. Shortly after arriving and settling into the room, I discovered yellow stains on the bottom sheet of one of the beds. This was extremely disappointing and unacceptable for a Marriott-branded hotel. I immediately went down to the front desk to report the issue. A staff member handed me a new set of sheets but informed me that housekeeping would not be making the bed, so I would need to do it myself. Unfortunately, upon placing the replacement bottom sheet on the bed, I noticed even larger yellow stains on that sheet as well. I returned to the front desk and showed Craig, the employee on duty, the stains. He called someone from housekeeping to bring another set of sheets, but again explained that they are not trained to make the bed. I told him that we had been traveling for 12 hours and were completely exhausted, and I kindly asked that the replacement sheets be sent up as soon as possible. After waiting 30 minutes with no sheets delivered to the room, I went back down to the front desk to ask what was going on. I told Craig that I either needed a clean set of sheets immediately or needed to be moved to another room. At that point, he said he would personally bring up a new set of sheets right away. While I appreciated the eventual response, I don’t understand why that wasn’t offered in the first place—especially after my second trip to the front desk and my clear explanation of the situation. This experience fell far below what I expect from a Marriott property. Cleanliness and hospitality should be baseline standards—not something a guest has to repeatedly ask for after a long day of travel. Given the unacceptable condition of the room and the poor response time and service, I believe it is entirely reasonable to request a full reimbursement of the $325 I

The only thing I can say is that due to the construction that underway I would have much rather stayed at the other end of the Hotel to avoid the necessary noise.

We had a wonderful experience at Springhill suites. From the friendly staff at check in to the amazing chef who made us the most delicious breakfast each morning our family enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean and spacious. I definitely recommend this hotel- close by to the highway and restaurants. Also its about a 20-25 minute drive from the beachfront.

I would like to say that the staff was amazing, they really were. The breakfast was hot, fresh and delicious. The area that we were in around the hotel felt safe and was quiet. Our main issue was the room. Now, the beds were very comfortable and I slept well. There was one night, where we did not have hot water, and had to take a cold shower. We also did not realize at first that were a few hairs left in the tub from the previous person that stayed in our room. That made us uncomfortable like they did not clean the bathrooms well. Also, we had one day where the elevators were not working. One elevator was broken the entire time we were there. And the other one, they had to do maintenance on, so we were unable to use the elevator and had to climb 5 flights of stairs, very inconvenient. I'd give it a 3 star rating overall.

Everything was great- staff- amenities- the breakfast- the room and hotel is beautiful- lovely scent too. Two minor faults- bath towels had an overpowering bleach scent. Love that they’re sanitized but the scent was really strong. And toilet backed up the middle of my two night stay. Plumbing issues aren’t entirely a hotels fault but was inconvenient. We were on our way out for the night got back late- and was leaving early the next morning. So didn’t bother to call for maintenance. Just used the lobby toilets for the last few hours. Overall the stay was amazing. Will be back- when back in town

27 rooms on each floor and it’s a six floor building only one elevator just think 150 people waiting for an elevator also there is no coffee served except breakfast hours in the lobby. I booked a king suite and the TV was so small. I could barely see it.

The hotel was nice and quiet, the bkfast was delicious, Annette the cook was really nice she made me a special omelette for bkfast the 2nd day I stayed there. Just didn’t like the indoor pool the water was foggy and there was no jacuzzi. Overall it was nice and would stay there again.

When you eating breakfast they have people to help you bring things to table if you have a lot of plates or foods or could drinks. Also have fresh omelets made to order omelette when I was there so good!!

Check in was very good. Certain people were the best. Carmen, Tiffany, and Jennifer did a superb job in all the help they gave us. From ideas on where to eat, to directions. Will stay with you next visit.

When we checked in, the receptionist was unfriendly and unsmiling. Breakfast was a tad better than others. There was a good selection of toppings for the hot oatmeal. Chicken nuggets were better than Burger King or McDonalds. Unfortunately they do not serve the chicken all the time. Stay away from the scrambled eggs and breakfast patties. WIFI signal was average; I had to reconnect multiple times.

The service was great. The kitchen staff was wonderful. Antionette and CJ were top tier. They were very accommodating and hospitable while we were there.

Lovely room and great customer service

Close to home and convenient. From start to finish my 5 day stay was excellent. Numerous food place nearby for every tastebud and some walking distance; Local churches of all denominations are nearby within 4 minutes driving and 1 minutes walking; Bus and light rail trains systems minutes away from the hotel; major highway access in under a minute; and the 6-10 morning continental breakfast of a new menu daily. Dining room was a wonderful meeting room for gatherings and the weekend gathering of guests to watch the NFL playoffs was especially a treat regardless of who you were routing for

Easy to find. Safe and secure. Room was clean and spacious. Free parking too. Carmen at the front desk was a sweetheart. She gave us a list of restaurants around the area, and categorized it by types of food and provided information about it. You can tell with each guest she checks in or out, she builds a wonderful rapport with them.

This property was super clean, friendly staff and the bedding was top notch…very comfortablef! I also enjoyed the wide selection of breakfast options in the morning too before I had to hit the road.

The 2nd shift and 3rd shift desk clerks were snappy and not nice. The people who assisted with the breakfast was very rude and snappy to guests.

The property was easy to get to and made easy access to the highway.

It was obvious that my stay happened to occur at the same time as some maintenance work was required. The tub spigot was dripping but the sound didn’t bother me. The tv volume would cut out but I’m not much for tv anyway. All in all though what mattered was the staff was great, the bed was comfortable, and having been there for business it was quite without any interruptions.

Love this hotel. It’s a basics hotel with a decent breakfast, amazing staff (from the front desk… the kitchen staff… the maintenance department…. Housekeeping… and even the event planners) I didn’t have an event there but the stairs we used were near the event rooms and the staff was so kind. I didn’t have any issues and they were great with the kids. The pool was warm and clean… pool towels were kinda small but that’s the only small complaint I could find. Beds were comfortable even the sofa and trundle bed were comfy. The laundry room had plenty washers and dryers. The price was very low for the services offered. Definitely worth the stay. Traveling with 3 small kids one of my concerns is how thin walls are but I couldn’t hear my neighbors even when they were sold out.

Very spacious room. Clean and tidy. Lobby also clean, nice breakfast spread. Staff was so nice and friendly. They even helped us when we wanted to use the library area for a small graduation celebration. Great location near airport and the graduation ceremony at NSU. Not too far from Waterside District for great food and views on the water.

The building had a number of maintenance issues. The interior steps had broken or taped edges on the treads. We had a bathtub with a faucet that wouldn’t turn off, not just a drip but a stream of water. Our sink didn’t have a plug so it couldn’t hold water and would let anything that fell in the sink go straight down the drain. The light over the small refrigerator flashed like a strobe light for 10 minutes every time it was turned on. The refrigerator was cold when we got there but stopped working. We could hear treadmills and weights being used in the Fitness Center below us. Absolutely NO complaints about the staff or the cleanliness! They are doing a great job considering their building disrepair.

The hotel room was clean and comfortable. It was a suite so that was an additional advantage. The microwave and refrigerator and TV at work well. Shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. The breakfast layout was great. And rating the staff between a 1 and 5, I would give them a seven. They were amazingly wonderful.

They don’t take certain brand banks for their incidentals and the front desk girl almost didn’t let me check in. This policy is not mentioned nor listed and it should be.

Hotel was clean. Parking was less than convenient with limited spaces close to entrance. Staff was oh so thrilled to be there the death stare said it all. Rooms were spacious and clean, double queen and beds were very soft but very comfortable. We stayed on the fifth floor with what we believe were Snoop Dog and Willie Nelson down the hall …stinky. Average hotel. Would recommend if you don’t mind a little contact high.

We were placed in an ADA equipped room, but we did not need one. The room had a weird odor, almost a urine smell to it but only near the bed?? Other than that the room was perfectly fine.

I usually don’t leave reviews but this was an absolutely amazing stay! Everything was so clean and nice. The staff were all so friendly, attentive and all around great! I definitely recommend they get a 10/10 and that’s hard to do because I am picky lol

Rooms were big and quiet, staff was helpful, breakfast was excellent. Roads in the area are a bit of a challenge, but this is true for a bunch of hotels.

Staff were amazing and kind. The room had a bit of a mold/must funk smell but it didn’t really bother us as we used the room only to sleep. For the price, it was what we expected. It was an easy 20 minutes to Veterans Amphitheater.

The hotel look nice, the front desk was very helpful, the rooms looked clean but my allergies and my moms asthma just got really bad as soon as we enter the room, the room smell like humidity. The breakfast was cold and the lady that work the area was pretty rude not only to me but to other customers too. Area had a strong bleach smell but the pool itself did not look clean. I really like all the marriott hotels that I have stayed in so far but this one dissapointed us.

When we go to hotel the pull out trundle bed was so dirty housekeeping came out and cleaned I also found some bugs in bathroom and my kids have bites all over them so I am pretty sure they have bed bugs
