    He spoke with the woman behind the counter and they were able to get us another room. What gets me is that he was just going to skip right out of there and leave this problem with the other employee. I don’t know if he is like this often, but something’s needs to be said.

    The bed was super comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. The sleeper sofa had no bedding and there was nothing available in the room so we had to go ask for something at the front late at night. Also, we have kids and they love swimming so they were looking forward to using the pool but the door had a sign that said "Pool Closed!!!" Without any explanation..that was disappointing.

    Room was clean however I was given a room with a broken stove and microwave. I booked from Friday to Monday and had my family. It was a huge inconvenience as I booked this hotel for the kitchen they had to avoid spending so much on outside food during my trip. We weren’t able to be accommodated and moved to another room until Sunday afternoon. They did refund me for the first two nights so I was appreciative for that. Just wish I had a room that worked throughout my entire stay. Otherwise everything else was fine, staff was kind and didn’t seem to be annoyed during my grievances.

    It was very accommodating, the staff was amazing, the suite and hotel itself were very clean, it offered many amenities and it was very comfortable I think the only thing we dislike when staying there is the parking since you have to park in the parking garage and there is a fee for that

    The breakfast was tasty, but not very hot. The bed was terrific, the sofa bed has really bad cushions. The bathroom doors does not close. The highlight was the front desk agents, especially Rachel. They were always smiling and helpful. Thanks.

    We stayed a couple of day in April 2026. Staff was amazing and very friendly. Hotel was clean one thing was only one elevator worked. Don’t know why the other was not working but we had to wait for the elevator more than necessary. Also the floor by the elevator in the main floor was peeling off, accident hazard. Rooms were above average. Parking lot is needed.

    The location was great for our purposes. The kitchenette was modern and clean, but there was only one spoon and two forks. The beds are terrible. There is a hide-a-bed couch and the bed was not made up. When you sit on the couch, it caves in and was horribly stained. The king bed mattress was thin and hard. Every morning, a table was set up for waffles, but no waffle maker. On last morning I asked why and a staff member said the machines have been broken for a long time. Putting out the syrup and waffle fixings was just for show! The edges of the rooms had not been vacuumed--made the room feel dirty.

    It was a comfortable stay close to everything with 5 minute walk to Granby street. The staff was wonderful and the lobby, halls and room were clean. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is the oppressive chemical smell in the room (310). I got used to it in 5 minutes and was surprised that my asthma didn’t kick in…

    The sofa beds mattress was extremely thin and uncomfortable, we requested bedding and pillows and were only given a thin sheet and top cover, rhe livingroom remote was missing, the bathroom walls were peeling, and overall the room felt very old and in need of maintenence.

    A few things did not work. Toilet was cracked and repaired. It seemed very strange that they repaird the crack but did not replace toilet. The door entry lock did not work unless you stood in the hall and tried it about 25 times to finally make it work.

    Room was nice, sofa-bed very uncomfortable. My friend said she could feel the springs in the mattress. The water in the toilet ran constantly. The food was ok, the lady that worked the weekend was not friendly. The front desk staff were great. Breakfast from 7 -9:30 on weekend and 7-9 during the week too early. Should at least last until 10 on weekends. Overall nice hotel. Parking plentiful and convenient.

    The upholstered furniture was soiled, the mattress pad was raggedy and didn’t fit the bed, some of the hard furniture had damage. The room smelled like old ramen noodles. The staff at the front desk were helpful. The garage across the street (the only parking for the hotel) was dirty and inconvenient.

    I didn't like the mishandling of my daughter in law reservation. She was not notified of problems with her reservation until day of arrival which resulted in our family being separated and staying at different locations. I found that to be very unprofessional.

    We stayed in room 709, it was very clean, but several items were missing or damaged. Pull-out sofa was broken, which made it impossible to sleep on, TV remote was missing and TV in living room didn’t work even after asking to have it fixed, situation wasn’t resolved. There was no luggage stand to put the suitcase on, sink was clogged and carpet was damaged. The pool looked dirty and the hot tub condition was so poor that we didn’t risk using it. The bright star of the stay was our breakfast assistant DeeDee who was just amazing. Other than that, the hotel has a lot to catch up on.

    We had to come to Norfolk to visit my Dad who is in the process of passing. During my search for a place to stay, this was the closest. Our family consist of 2 adults and 1 small, well trained ShihTzu. I planned to stay for 2 days and paid for two days, but was not happy with this hotel so we left early on the second day. The room was lacking amenities' that we needed for my husbands health issues, No microwave being one, and I saw what i thought was a manager in the hall after the first night and ask about it. Was told we would have one delivered, however when I returned to the hotel that day, there was no microwave. The bed was not comfortable, the furniture was not comfortable. We left at like 5-6:00 on the second day. My husband and pet stayed in the hotel while I went to the hospital to be with my father. When i told the front clerk we were check out, he never even ask if there were any problems! But the hotel has charged me the full $691.70 for this sorry stay. Upon checking into this hotel, I told the lady I was usually a Hilton member, but did not find one close enough. She said "hopefully we can do better and your stay will be good" or something to that effect. The stay was not better, it was horrible!! And just for the record, our dog is well trained and left nothing behind in the room and does his bathroom breaks outside. Our trip home was 4 hours one way and after a stay in the hospital for 1&1/2 days, it was a ruff trip home!!

    We had to come to Norfolk to visit my Dad who is in the process of passing. During my search for a place to stay, this was the closest. Our family consist of 2 adults and 1 small, well trained ShihTzu. I planned to stay for 2 days and paid for two days, but was not happy with this hotel so we left early on the second day. The room was lacking amenities' that we needed for my husbands health issues, No microwave being one, and I saw what i thought was a manager in the hall after the first night and ask about it. Was told we would have one delivered, however when I returned to the hotel that day, there was no microwave. The bed was not comfortable, the furniture was not comfortable. We left at like 5-6:00 on the second day. My husband and pet stayed in the hotel while I went to the hospital to be with my father. When i told the front clerk we were check out, he never even ask if there were any problems! But the hotel has charged me the full $691.70 for this sorry stay. Upon checking into this hotel, I told the lady I was usually a Hilton member, but did not find one close enough. She said "hopefully we can do better and your stay will be good" or something to that effect. The stay was not better, it was horrible!! And just for the record, our dog is well trained and left nothing behind in the room and does his bathroom breaks outside. Our trip home was 4 hours one way and after a stay in the hospital for 1&1/2 days, it was a ruff trip home!!

    I was disappointed in our stay. Almost every time we returned to our hotel room, our keys did not work. Then we’d have to go down to the front desk to get them reset. Additionally, when leaving for the airport on our final morning, the QR code the hotel sent for exiting the garage did not work. He could not shower, wash, brush teeth or flush the toilet. The front desk kept telling him the water would be on soon but ot never came on. The last time he called the front desk they told him he should have water in his room, though he sid not. When he checked out they offered NO COMPENSATION. I cant belive I paid $190 for my son to have a hotel room with no water. I will never stay at any Marriott affiliated hotel again. Unbelievable they would treat paying guests so poorly

    I was in Norfolk for a convention - one of the reasons I booked the Residece Inn is because of the breakfast buffet and I timed my morning so that I could have a substantial meal before my all-day event. When I arrived at the buffet at 7:30 am there was no hot food other than bread for the toaster, and no plates. I thought at the very least I could have yogurt and a coffee but there wasn't any coffee made. When I went back to my room to use the coffee maker there, I discovered that there was no carafe. I didn't have time to call down and ask for one since I had to leave so I found a coffee shop on my way to my event. It made for a stressful morning. In addition to this I had to return to the front desk twice after finding that my room key had stopped working. The first time they simply reactivated the key and the second time I was told that the problem must be that I was keeping my room key in the same pocket as my phone. This is the first time that's ever been the case at any hotel I've stayed at, Residence Inn or otherwise, so I have to believe that the fault lies with the equipment. The person at the front desk acted as though this was a common problem, so if that's true then guests should be informed of that at check-in. Also, I was handed a small bag of Hershey's Kisses when I checked in, and there were no bottles of water in my room. I'd much prefer to have a free water than some candy when I get to a hotel.

    Only One elevator working, the room is out dated, no plug for charging phones unless you have a cube, and of course I didn’t. The sink was leaking, no house keeping and our key pass for exciting the parking lot always gave us trouble and lady on the phone was rude . Nothing around that is open .

    After a long day of travel, I arrived at almost midnight only to be told that the only rooms left did not have heat. I was told that they could offer me extra blankets or good luck finding a new hotel. The staff member was very pleasant however this is completely unacceptable. I booked this room at 3 weeks ago. The extra blankets consisted of a thin covering that went over the duvet. I am not from this area, it’s midnight and I was a woman by myself with limited options other than to just stay. I was very disappointed. The breakfast was also half gone when I went down at 8:30 when breakfast is supposed to be served from 7-10 with no one actively refilling anything.

    We were very unsatisfied with our overall stay here. We stood for three nights and they never cleaned the room. Upon arriving back from our day on the third night, we saw that the room was still not cleaned. We then went down to the lobby to figure out what was happening. They told us that you have to call to schedule a cleaning the day before and that we were supposed to be told this upon check in. They never told us this information so we never got the chance to come back to a clean room. Secondly, the hallways were absolutely freezing. It felt like it was 60 degrees in the hall (we visited during thanksgiving). It was so cold that even in our rooms where we can adjust the thermostat, it felt like it was never able to get warm. Finally, getting from the 6th floor down to the lobby to enter or exit was always a challenge. There was only one working elevator so it took forever to come up or down. Sometimes, when an elevator would finally arrive, it was full so you’d have to wait even longer. We would have taken the stairs but for some reason, there was no marked stairs to enter into the lobby. The next time we are in Norfolk, we plan to stay elsewhere.

    Although the staff was very friendly and professional, their keycard system kept having issues. We got locked out of our hotel room on multiple occasions and had to get new keys made. The staff was aware of this issue and was willing to fix keys as needed. We’ve not run into a single bad employee there, a very well managed property.

    We were only there for one night. The place was lovely, but there were some maintenance issues with the shower and the bathroom sink. Staff was responsive to our requests. Breakfast was excellent. It took us 3 passes and a call to the hotel to figure out how to get to the entrance.

    The place is rundown, front desk was minimal service. They serve breakfast supposed to be until 930 but they stopped bringing anything out at 9 am There is no housekeeping at all when we finally had to call for clean towels. They told us we’d have to call a day ahead for anybody to come to the room, which is absurd, considering the prices are not or motel prices. The coffee machine did not work in the room. There was one pan which was burnt. Would not return to this place.

    Checked in was ignored for about 10 mins. Got to the room and key one key card didn't work. Heat gave out on a cold weekend, was given an extra blanket. Complianed twice to front desk and they wrote it down but did nothing about it. By far the worse Residence Inn ive stayed at. Definitely would not recommend.
