Residence Inn by Marriott Norfolk Airport

Room was clean and fairly comfortable. I had family that also booked this hotel as we were going into Norfolk for the same event, but the hotel canceled their reservation the same day as the arrival. When I tried to call to confirm our room the phone lines where not working which caused a lot of stress. After about 3 hours I was able to get through and confirm our reservation was still good and we had a room. When we arrived the front desk tried to tell us we had only paid for 1 night and had a balance, but we has paid in full. Everything worked out eventually, but it was a much more stressful start to our trip than anticipated.

I must say that tge Residence Inn By Marriott Norfolk is exceptional. Our room was immaculate, the Front Desk Agent was courteous, was kind, and helpful. Explanation of services and amenities were thorough. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful the dining area was well maintained, comfortable and clean. The parking area was clean and adequate for the size of the hotel. This hotel is near the airport and close to shopping and restaurants . I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Norfolk area.

Disappointing

I knew that I wouldn’t be at the hotel in time for check-in. I called the hotel two weeks prior to inform them of this. I was told that this would not be a problem and that it would be notated in the account. About a week after that, I informed them that the card on file was lost and asked how I would be able to put another card on file. No one responded to my inquiry. On the day of my arrival, May 8, 2026, I began driving to Norfolk, Virginia from Southampton, Long Island. Over 8 hours. I arrived on the property to no one in the lobby. There wasn’t a bell or any kind of way to call for a receptionist. After 15 minutes, a woman who worked the front desk emerged with a small man looking as though they’d been enjoying the night pretty thoroughly. She looked disheveled and unkempt. When she saw that my daughters and I were standing there she immediately looked annoyed. She asked me if I was checking in with a very rude demeanor. I answered yes. She then asked me what my last name was. She asked those two questions while still making her way around the counter. I told her my last name. She answered “What?” with attitude along with a neck roll and rolling her eyes. I yelled my last name back. Her little man of a boyfriend or fling chuckled behind me. She went on to say that my reservation was cancelled and my room given away. She did not see any notes that I would arrive late and no message about my card. I will never book a stay at the Residence Norfolk Airport, again.

I would recommend this hotel. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good and had a variety of dishes. The hotel was close to food, Walmart and the Outlets were minutes away.

There were no sheets for the fold out couch. The sheets on the bed were stained. The towels were very thin and scratchy.

Upon entering the room, i was shocked because when I looked at the website, it said that the property was recently renovated but it does not show. There’s lots of wear and tear and dust. When I opened the fridge, there was a piece of hair. In the bathroom, it’s the same. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. The lady staff at the front was super nice, very friendly, and approachable. Sorry to say, I will not stay at this hotel again due to its uncleanliness and location.

Breakfast was very good. Indoor pool, fitness center and patio area are nice amenities. Our suite was a nice size with a nicely stocked kitchen. Room was quiet despite nearby airport and busy highway.

The entire hotel was clean and the staff were great. It needs some TLC but overall well maintained. The spout on our tub was pulling away from the shower wall with a 1/4 inch gap and it made me wonder about potential mold and rot. The tub floor was stained but clean and I would have LOVED to have hot water - it was warm but not hot and led to a brief and fast shower every day. The pool area and gym were clean and the grounds were well cared for too. It was very convenient for our needs and would stay there again.

There was here all over my bathroom. It was disgusting.

There were no clean rooms available for multiple Lobby guests checking in at 6 pm. There was no hot water at sink or showers in morning. It seems as though an airport hotel would offer breakfast time starting earlier than the current 6:30 am. A disappointing stay.

We have stayed here numerous times and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, but this time some of the breakfast foods were not good. This was NOT at all worrh the $600 i paid for 2 nights. I could have stayed at the local motel for way less if I wanted to experience broken items in the room, uncomfortable squeaky beds and stains on some of the linen and cheap shedding towels.

We stayed here last Christmas for 10 nights, and this Christmas for 7 nights. The property has gone downhill since last year; lose trim in room that keeps you from opening drawers, rust in bath tub, paint wore off doors and more. We had NO room service the entire 7 nights! We emptied our trash! No clean towels or cleaning of the room!! They are now charging $10/day for parking. I highly recommend you stay across the street at Home2. We stayed there in February and much, much better.

The rooms were nice & clean as well as the pool & other facilities We checked in on a Saturday night, we were unable to get keys to our room so we had to be let in every time we needed to enter our room. We got keys Sunday morning that only worked for about an hour. It was a Hughe inconvenience to my family as well as the staff.

The Residence Inn by Marriott Norfolk Airport is the place to stay. The hotel rooms were immaculate, the free breakfast was exceptional. Additionally, the convenience of shopping, local restaurants and close proximity to the airport made the stay even more appreciated. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Norfolk.

We checked in on September 9 after we check in and when to our room someone slip a piece of paper under the door to let us know we where not going to have hot water or we couldn't use the stove or use the pool. From the day we checked in until we checked out had to take cold showers every day I was told we couldn't get compensated cause we use a 3rd party.

We were told at check it that it would only be out for the night and would be back up the next morning/ afternoon but we were there for 2 nights and we didnt even have hot water at the time that we checked out. They straight up lied to us. Bad situation and not happy. Will not stay here again.

The breakfast was good with the exception of the eggs being hot. When we got them from rhe earmer and walk back to our table they were cold. And too poor TV reception and the ceiling had water stain damage

When asked about prolonging our stay for a few hours or a day I was told because we had grievances that they don’t want to extend our stay. Not the best experience, $100 was credited back to the stay . I’ve never experienced something like this in any of the hotels that I have stayed in .

The food was basic, not a good variety. It was the same everyday. The apples and oranges were bruised, and didn’t look fresh.

There was mold in the bathroom and hallways, needs a bit of paint and love in some areas, specially the ceiling.

My room smell really back the shower curtain was broken. The pipe was dripping all night. My room never got clean the next day. Room service was rude especially when we ask for blankets and sheet for the sofa. It was very noisy. One of my worst stay ever

We were excited about the stay until we received notification from the hotel representative while we were half way there that we had been changed to nearby Delta hotel due to unforeseen circumstances. This was a family trip and we had two grandchildren with us. We were eventually accommodated afterr my husband expressed anger and disappointment we were eventually accommodated due to a sudden cancellation.

Everything was great except the airplanes are real noisy near the hotel if youre not a deep sleeper.

This time around, despite the fact that this hotel was the most expensive in the area, I chose them as we had been here before and they were great. Well, not this time. New management, everything has fallen apart, poor room conditions, the entire floor smelled like wee. The last two days we were there, our entire room smelled like week as the smell was traveling through the vents and coming from the room above us. The only positive thing I can say about our stay here this time is that the staff is top notch. We will never stay here again, unfortunately

Check-in experience was terrible. There was a staff shortage and some technical issue. We waited in the queue for more than 15 mins as there is only one staff and after reaching the associate we came to know some issue with the booking as they were unable to retrieve the booking and waited for more than an hour to finally get the room.

The most important part of most experiences are the initial interactions with someone who represents that business. Kristen at the front desk was the person who I had my initial interaction, and I can say with complete confidence that she is understands the importance of the customer experience. She was welcoming, her tone was respectful, she was attentive, and everything else a client would hope for! Kristen had told me she had been working there for less than six month, but really loved her job and it absolutely showed in her action. THANK YOU Kristen for such an amazing attitude!

The Front Desk Representative Kristen was awesome! She made sure our check in was smooth. She highly recommended we sign up for the rewards program. The beds were so comfortable. The hot shower was amazing. We’re definitely making this our go to hotel when we visit next later this year.

Great stay, there was no hair dryer in the room though and the toilet was clogged but other than that amazing

Definitely a little out dated. Still pretty comfortable. Strange smell though out hallways but breakfast was pretty good.

We spent one night in our rooms. Since there were two youth and two preschoolers, we appreciated the extra room to spread out.

I picked this property for the breakfast, because I was returning home early the next day. The property is clean, customer service is excellent, and the rooms are spacious and clean. I loved my room because it had a very big kitchenette just like a mini apartment.

Alitha (spelling?) from housekeeping on third floor made a special effort to quickly provide coffee and extra towels requested. I very much appreciate her excellent customer service. You are lucky to have her. Every employee encountered offered a smile and greeting.

Selecting this location for an overnight stay was the best decision I could have ever done! It is conveniently located off the main highway. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was located on an upper floor and away from the elevators, as requested. The room was a suite. The first room was a combination of sofa with television, dining area for 2, and kitchen with a full size refrigerator, 2 burner stovetop, and dishwasher. Dinnerware and cookware to boot! The bedroom had a very comfortable queen size bed, television that sat on a chest of drawers and plenty of closet space. The bathroom was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my shower time.

I had to make a last-minute reservation due to a family medical emergency. I was not able to arrive until 1:30 in the morning. When I arrived to check in the clerk on duty was first put out that I arrived and second, she cancelled my reservation since I had not arrived yet. I was floored because this has never happened before at multiple different hotels that I have stayed at. I reserved a room and expected one when I arrived. What a horrible policy and even worse the attitude from the clerk that I would arrive so late. Never staying there again.

Staff were great, property was good. The water pressure in the shower and sinks could have been better. Other than that we had a good stay.

Despite a friendly front desk, my stay was marred by the discovery of mold on the ceiling and in the bathroom vent, posing a potential health hazard. Attempts to contact the front desk through the hotel phone were unsuccessful, and while staff provided extra towels and blankets, the noise from running and door slamming persisted throughout the night. The breakfast buffet was underwhelming, with limited options. Though I requested a transfer, no similar rooms were available. The presence of mold, a serious health concern, significantly impacted my stay.

We stayed 10 nights over Christmas 2024. Included breakfast was excellent seven of those days; just a cold breakfast Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Day after Christmas breakfast was still back to where was prior to Christmas Eve. Great location for us and spacious rooms. Faculties are very nice. Housekeeping was poor.

Amenties and rooms were great. You can tell they were updated but was done well. Love the actual stove and oven so we could cook in the room and not eat out the whole visit.

It was a nice stay. I felt safe and relaxed. Food was average. Bathroom could have been cleaner.

The room was dirty, the bathroom sink had mold, the sheets had yellow spots as well as the pillows, the bath tub was dirty, I had to wear shower shoes to feel clean, the bathroom walls were peeling and the air/ heat vent that was faced directly at the bed was very dirty.

The place was amazing. They serve real breakfast food. They supply everything in the room. The beds can be upgraded but the room was clean. I would stay there again, it felt like a real apartment.

The overall stay was good, my only complaint was the beds are way too soft, but that is my opinion and others may enjoy soft beds. Could offer more breakfast options as well. The hotel was clean, the room was clean, offered smart tvs, and the kids enjoyed the basketball court and pool table.

I HAD BUGS IN MY ROOM. ON THE BED!! the floor, the sink, the bathroom. I had to switch rooms at 12 am.

We stayed for 4 nights, we were in Norfolk for an event at the Botanical Gardens which is less than 2 miles away. The hotel is clean, offers a great complimentary breakfast with different hot options everyday, a nice gym and pool and outdoor spaces that include a basketball court, the staff is warm and friendly

She was friendly and attentive. She made our stay pleasant. Front lobby was clean. Breakfast needs improvement with the hot items they were cold. Outside maintenance was good. Room was clean.

The staff was very accommodating given the fact we needed to check in early and the room was very clean.

For a single night stay, this hotel was fine. However, the cleanliness is lacking. There are stains all over the counter surfaces, bedding and floors. I’m all for a dog friendly hotel, but our room smelled like sweaty dog and pee on arrival. While sleeping, I also felt a bug on my arm that was never found, and both my friend and I had bites on our necks the next morning. The free breakfast was lacking and stale. I usually love Residence Inn’s but most likely won’t return here as there are lots of other options in the area. The desk staff was super friendly tho!

Great property for the price. Clean, friendly staff. Not very far from the beach or other area attractions. Not very quiet as it’s by the airport so u hear a lot of noise from the planes. But good hotel.

But overall enjoyed our stay and was able to enjoy absolutely every amenity from the pool (All to our self most days, not crowded at all ) to the grill area ( made dinner) and the billiard table.

The property was nice and clean. My issue was, booking through Expedia. When I went to check in I was told my reservation of a two queen bed suite was ready. I let the front desk staff know that wasn’t what I booked and I was asked where I booked through. Not sure if this was an Expedia issue or the hotel issue. The front desk clerk did nothing to resolve the issue and acted like it was what it was. The manager we talked to was apologetic and resolved the issue. In the end it worked out. But what I booked through Expedia was not what I was given at the hotel

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The room was large and the bed was comfortable.

The air conditioner in our room wasn’t working,we complained and they moved us to another room …that air conditioning was also not working(the room never got cooler than 76 degrees) we called service desk and sent maintenance up and they checked and was going yo notify front desk but never heard from anyone….at check we expressed are issues and were told they would have to contact district manager…never heard from anyone!

Individual checking me in was very kind very helpful. The room was much larger than expected. It was very clean would definitely stay again.

We liked having the option to cook meals in our room with a 2 burner stove top. Our room also came with a good sized refrigerator/freezer, as well as a full sized dishwasher. Breakfast was provided by the hotel, and offered a hood variety of options.

We had some sort of animal feces under and around our TV stand, under our couch and my niece had some in her mouth. The carpet needed a good shampooing. The breakfast was not that good. The Canadian bacon and the turkey sausage were so over cooked that you could not eat it and the eggs were very watery. The Staff however was very nice and friendly.

Great and clean place

I loved the amenities such as the fitness center and the breakfast style buffet. Plus having your own kitchen in your room and how clean the room was. I loved this hotel so much i did not want to leave.

The Room is smaller than expected and the AC was not the best, for time was too hot, and for time was too cold. I couldn't get no one day comfortable with the AC.
