    Caroline helped us with a room change. She was great!! The breakfast buffet was good too. Super easy walk to the cruise port. We parked in the Main Street parking garage on floor 3 and used the bridge to the hotel. Then parked there for the 8 day cruise. $104 Would definitely stay again.

    We enjoyed our very brief stay. It was nice to have a coffee shop with breakfast sandwiches right in the lobby. My major disappointment was the pool being closed for maintenance. The location is excellent. The parking garage is well-lit, with in/out privileges, but is a bit snug for maneuvering the different levels on the spiral ramp.

    The staff were polite and helpful. However, the hotel did not have an accessible room with a waterside view. I booked two rooms, we had to call down to reception to have the rooms cleaned two days in a row. The entire hotel needed to be overhauled and renovated, it appeared very run down. I have family who resides in the area and I would not stay there again.

    We loved the location. Just a short walk from the cruise port, great local coffee, and an awesome Irish pub. On top of it, I forgot our luggage tags for our cruise, the front desk hooked us up with zip ties so we could tag our luggage. 10/10 great above and beyond service! Nothing.

    I stayed at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott from 5/20/26-5/22/26. I was attending a Women’s Conference at the Hilton one block away. I was checked in with a smile by Felecia who gave me info on different restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The room was clean, and comfortable with an amazing view of the river. My only complaint was that the WiFi server was not functioning properly to watch any TV and the stopper in the bathroom sink wasn’t functioning well at all but I made do. The staff responded quickly when I requested additional cups be brought up to my room to drink water and when I asked about access to a-computer and printer to print out my boarding pass to catch my flight back to Maryland. I want to also recognize Airianna,the front desk supervisor, and Jacqualine who checked me out when I was ready to leave on5/22/26. All of the staff and employees that I interacted with were happy, helpful and friendly from the maintenance staff, housekeeping and the team out in front of the hotel that helped with parking,unloading suitcases and welcoming guests to the hotel . I will be coming back to this hotel when I visit Norfolk again.

    We stayed for 2 nights and the tv did not work the entire stay. I spoke to a desk agent on the phone multiple times and went in person two times regarding this issue. No one came to the room to fix the tv after being told multiple times they’d send someone up. The hotel is dated and needs renovations. Not worth the room rate.

He was very personable and a joy to meet! I can't express enough how great our trip was! I traveled with my eight-year-old son, mother, and stepfather. There wasn't anything we didn't like!

    The internet was disconnecting every 30 to 40 minutes to the point to where my wife and I just went on a walk at night. The shower was stopped up so it would fill up with water and when I went to use the handheld piece it just fell from the wall

    We stayed one night. No hand soap in our bathroom. I requested soap from the first desk and I was told housekeeping would deliver it to our room. We never received it. Once we checked out and we asked about the soap. The front desk staff said oh we don’t have any!! Check out time is at 11:00. However, at 9:30 housekeeping started banging on the door asking if we needed services…why? Then, at 10:30 there was more banging on the door followed by a housekeeper entering our room with a key! I told the manager upon check out and she stated she would follow up with housekeeping and security! No apology or empathy for the inconvenience. Not to mention we paid almost $300 for this stay! If we are ever back in Norfolk we won’t be staying here.

    The hotel could use some renovations as we saw water damage on the walls in our room and the inner part of the bath tub was peeling/flaking. The shower's water pressure was terrible. We had double beds and thank goodness because the sheets had black stains on one bed. Hotel staff was amazing, very helpful and personable.

    Clean room but some highlights of a dated building or damage. The hallway had a chunk of wall missing, the toilet tank was running (sound wise) constantly, the ceiling in the bathroom was a bit rusty and had unfinished paint, little things like that. I’d say it way average, not exceptional. Staff was neutral to kind. Parking options nearby were plentiful thankfully.

    The overall cleanliness appeared good until we got in bed and lifted up the comforter, we could see mold through the middle of it between the top and bottom layers in the stuffing part. It was late at night and didn't go downstairs to get another one because the wait time for the elevators was 15ish minutes. The indoor pool was cold (we stayed in March) so we couldn't swim either. For the price, I honestly expected a little better.

    Staff was welcoming and assisted quickly with a broken coffee maker and lack of pool towels. Elevators were beyond horrible (up to a 10 minute wait at times) and I was very unimpressed with the valet service. At arrival all but one individual was on their phone and offered no assistance retrieving a luggage cart. And upon multiple departures, we received notification the car was ready, however, it was another 15 minute wait in the lobby. Overall, staff was friendly and mostly helpful but I wouldn't choose to stay here again in comparison to other hotels nearby.

    This is a clean, well appointed hotel in a great location. But I couldn’t give it a 5-star rating because the layout from the parking garage is confusing. We had to go through several gatherings in a couple of the banquet rooms to find the elevator to our room after entering the hotel from the parking garage. And there were no signs once you enter the hotel. So it’s very confusing. It was already late when we arrived, so it just wasn’t a welcoming experience. But our room had a great view of the water & waterside district & it was quiet & comfortable! Lastly, the employee at the coffee shop (Steam) was kind of rude. A customer in front of us asked if they had a particular breakfast sandwich & she ignored him. When he asked again, she said,”if you don’t see it, we don’t have it; that’s why I didn’t answer you the 1st time”. All I could do was shake my head in disbelief…

    Staff was not friendly and my room was not ready until much later than my scheduled check in time. When I tried to voice my concerns to hotel staff, they dismissed the complaints without providing any remedy. Water pressure was terrible. There are only 4 elevators and it could take up to 20 minutes to catch one during peak hours.

    The breakfast that was purchased when I booked the room. My bed was lumpy, parking service was bad after I paid for a valet parking, it took to long to retrieve my car. I called to try and get an early check in and the lady said my booking number and my name was listed for a reservation. I had to call booking com and they were able to get them to pull up reservation and get them to allow my early check in. Go figure.

    The room was spacious and clean. Many options of lighting The bed was comfortable enough to a get a good night's rest. The cleanliness was great. The view was pretty cool to see the ships from the window but a little obstructed. Parking wasn't included, that was my fault for not checking prior. There are two options for parking garages. We used the Waterside St garage and had to pay daily rates. It was a little confusing getting to and from the garage to the correct floor. The garage elevator didnt work. Not the hotel's responsibility.

    My husband and I stayed here from out of town for the first time, for the Weekend to Remember Marriage Conference. Great customer service, house keeping were great and we didn’t have to ask for anything, they made sure we had everything we needed. No complaints and we had an amazing view towards the water and boats. Walking distance to all the amazing restaurants. We will definitely be staying again

I had a view of the river side and was on the 18th floor so it looked very nice at night. The amenities were good and the room was clean and smelled good. Furniture was kept in decent shape. Bed was very comfortable. Definitely would stay again.

    The staff we encountered was unfriendly, condescending, rude, mean-spirited, and highly unprofessional. We were harassed, teased, misled, and given incorrect information, which only worsened an already painful situation. At the time of our stay, we were mourning and coping with significant grief due to the recent loss of several loved ones. The staff showed absolutely no compassion or sensitivity to what we were going through, nor did they seem to care. Because of this experience, I will never book with this hotel again unless there are major renovations and the three staff members we encountered are removed or properly retrained to address their unacceptable and abrasive behavior.

    I liked the location in downtown Norfolk, which was 10 minutes from the Old Dominion campus. The hotel is also very close to Granby Street which has several good restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby has a small Starbucks and is very bright and open. The staff was welcoming. The parking was either valet or there is a parking ramp which is conveniently attached to the hotel. We used the $33/night valet service the first nights until we got our bearings. The ramp was $13/night. We were happy with our stay.

    Did not have a very good experience. Had to wait over two hours beyond check-in time for our rooms, did not receive the requested room types that we had reserved. Towels in the room were filthy, when we stepped on the bathroom floor water came up between the floorboards. Front desk, staff was not apologetic and not willing to compensate. Eventually spoke with management and they did provide appropriate compensation. Not sure we would stay there again.

    Nice restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Don't forget to ask about "Fred", a free shuttle service provided by the City of Norfolk. We tipped the driver of course; who was a very knowledgeable man extremely good at his job who shared points of interest about the City on our ride.

    I stayed overnight on a business trip. I had a few challenges checking in - it seemed their card reader couldn’t read my cards. After that snafu, I found the hotel to be nice, clean and quiet. The hotel was in a good location just a short walk to my meeting. Looking out my window I noticed a little waterfront district, and it was a nice place to spend some time that evening. It was a little tricky to find it, but I had a nice breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. Overall, a great stay.

    Overall, it was just okay. The bathroom door was the hardest door to slide open and shut. We had to use our entire body to move it. My grandma barely could at all. We continually had to ask for towels for 4 people after housekeeping came in even though they knew 4 people were staying. The middle console between the beds didn’t work for the first 3 nights and then suddenly it did. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. The rooms were quiet at night. We liked that there were many options within walking distance from the hotel for food.

    We had a wonderful stay. The hotel was beautiful. We stayed in a Riverview suite on the 18th floor. The room was clean and well maintained. The rain head shower, hot water and water pressure was on point!!! We found the bed to be extremely comfortable. Room service has some great options on the menu. I’d personally recommend the personal pan pizzas! The indoor pool is on the 6th floor with beautiful views through the glass vaulted ceiling. Water was cool, but quickly became comfortable. We were here Labor Day weekend 2025, but the pool was mostly empty when we used it. Lots of dining and shopping options on the area. The breakfast was included in our stay (as an add on we purchased while booking our stay). Lots of options including an omelette bar. Check-in and check-out was fast and smooth. All of the staff were polite and professional. We will definitely be back again!! Thank you.

    The hotel is too cold. Its freezing walking through the hotel. I put the temperature of my roomon 76 to counteract the temperature walking through the hotel. Its not good to need a jacket to walk throygh the hotel and its 80 degrees outside. The front desk, breakfast food service was excellent. The rooms needed better linen service. Not enough towels and the cleaning people come before checkout time and disturbed us everyday at 10a.m. We had a 2 day stay.

    I thought the hotel would have been in better shape. The body soap container was never filled had to call down to front desk to request. The floor was never swept I was disappointed The pool wasn’t ready to swim it was low and frothy The management and front desk were respectful and helpful

    The room curtains are torn/shredded and no employee has noticed?! shower area needs scrubbing and carpet needs cleaning. We requested coffee and cups which were never delivered, which was good - the coffee sucks. We reserved a king size room for 5 days and were provided two bath towels. Tissue box had six tissues pushed into the box resembling a flower but once those were used, the box was empty. It’s a good hotel but needs a makeover and better customer service. BTW, whoever decorated the elevator waiting area should have used more index cards.

    The service was amazing. The people were very friendly. I even locked myself out of my room and the front desk was very helpful. The hotel was clean, parking garage was easy to get in and out of. The restruarant had fast and friendly service. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    Staff was friendly and efficient. I don't like the not making the room up, they missed it on day 2. But room was large, bed okay, having a desk with outlets was awesome for a road warrior. The restaurant was a different story, service was rotten. The wait staff were standing in the back behind a wall talking and did not bother to poke there head out to see if anyone was waiting. The menu was pricey and limited.After waiting a few minutes, I walked back and asked them if I should seat myself. I had the salmon and it was excellent.

    We booked a river view room two months in advance but were given a room facing the parking deck. They had no other rooms available. Also, you would think with how much we pay for the room that breakfast would be included. But overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff were great and the room was spotless. We will continue to book this hotel.

    Most annoyingly, the toilet in our room was very loud, but did not work very well. My low-flush at home works much better. There were mechanical problems (the AC did not work in some parts of the building, the phone did not work in our room) and during the convention, some rooms were not supplied as requested. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but there were some things they just could not fix.

    The hotel was old, neglected, and dirty. Towel bars were broken, wallpaper was peeling, marks on the wall in several places and light switches did not work properly. The elevators smelled like urine. The beds were uncomfortable and we could hear hotel room doors, slamming shut and housekeeping vacuuming other rooms as early as 7 AM. It was not a pleasant experience and was quite surprising for a Marriott.

    Unfortunately, this hotel did not honor the rate promised with my hotels.com booking with the pay-at-site option. They charged me a higher nightly rate, and it felt like it was attempted to be hidden as they gave me a "blank" receipt at check out that stated I paid with cash (I did not), but then charged the higher amount to my card still. Later when prompted, they gave me a receipt with the higher nightly cost written, but kept passing me around and promising call-backs to rectify the situation, but they never called me back and never offered a solution or explanation. I am still calling the hotel to fix this, but I cannot get any help. The stay itself was decent, the walls are very thin (I could hear everything my neighbor was doing, even the sound of hangers moving), but the room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the location convenient. I would have been happy with my stay if it was not for the overcharge.
