Motel 6 Norfolk, VA – East Little Creek

They cancelled my reservation and didn’t even tell me. I traveled across the country to find out at 11pm my room was cancelled. Absolutely ridiculous!!

The outside of the hotel needs a remodel badly, but the inside has had some remodels done. The bed is hard as a rock, but the room was clean otherwise. My stay was good no complaints.

Staff was super helpful, the place is a little run down but the room I had was remodeled and modern. The walls are thin so you will hear someone IF they are yelling, blasting music or the TV.

The staff was very sweet and helpful. We had our own personal balcony and the location felt safe with close distance to shopping strip malls. The bathtub was very paint chipped but other than that a great stay for the price.

Renovated property, but poorly kept. Stained pillow case, pillow and bed spread. Nasty bathroom, hair all in floor, bathroom floor and tub dirty. Yuck!

Stay away from this place, I'm 51 years old and it's the worst hotel I've ever been to.

The room itself was fine, clean and as pictured. The property was a mess. Broken bottles on the sidewalk outside our room, parking lot was a disaster, what looked like people living in cars, chairs pulled out on to the sidewalk and people hanging out smoking and drinking.

Everything is old, used up, stained, no sense of pride of ownership, no care! Those wash rags and towels look like they used them 20 years, horrible!

I loved the bathroom with the big walk in shower and controls. Maid service wasn’t good. They never changed the bed linen. Only changed face towels once. I had to request more fresh towels. And no soap.

All necessary stores nearby which was excellent, you get what you pay may not be the Marriot but it was excellent for a quick stay for my daughter college graduation. More spacious than expected.

It was close to my friends house but the room smell like pot had to spray the room every time we came back my husband the was azmadic had to use his inhaler more than usual when we retune home we had to wash everything that was in that room it was awful Crackto heads fighting at night couldn’t sleep the second night as you walked outside the walkway was full of holes and as you looked up all the cement was falling down very dangerous

A gentleman came in and broke the glass door because he couldn't use the worket cell phone.That's type of neighborhood that you're in. Rat in the hall way. Room smelled bad. Pain was peeling on the tub. The room will look nothing and I mean , nothing like the picture

Room was nasty. Door lock didn’t work. We had to prop a chair under I the handle. Peep hole was painted over. Window was filthy. Pictures on Expedia were NOT accurate. Worst place I have ever stayed. Still have not gotten my deposit back.

Was a last minute for this booking, I guess we got the old room instead of a newer room the linen on bed could have been little cleaner was stains all over sheets could not sleep on it had to buy sheets to relax. The towels need to be replaced stains and everything on the towels just not a good experience for me and my family.

My wife and I chose to stay at this hotel due to affordability as we were coming from Albany, NY for the Blood In The Water event. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and even gave me some suggestions as to where to find cheap gas for our travels. There were a few holes amongst the property, but they were marked with an "x" using a marker and easily avoidable. My wife found the beds to be a bit uncomfortable, but I was fine with them so it really just goes by personal preference. The hotel was also located in a decent location, surrounded by restaurants and shops.

I booked online and the description said the room had a microwave and refrigerator but the room didn’t. I talked to the clerk about it and he didn’t seem to care. He told me that no Motel 6 rooms have microwave and refrigerator. Something that I know isn’t true. The remote for the TV would only turn it on and adjust the volume. The clerk tried different remotes and couldn’t get anything to work. Then he blamed it on the weather.

Overall the room was ok. There was food leftover in the refrigerator from who knows how long and the smell when it was opened was horrible. So we couldn't use it. I only stayed one night, and when I arrived I was a little worried because I had to book it at the last minute since my flight was canceled due to bad weather. But I must say the room was exceptional, I loved it, and the lobby is super nice; I think they're remodeling... I would definitely stay at this hotel again without hesitation.

The quietness, and comfort. Thed sidewalk pathways need repairing professionally. Not patched up. I'm was in a handicap facility room. So I dont want to trip or fall.

Absolutely nothing at all, I felt like Motel 6 did the bait and switch thing by saying their building was “newly renovated” when in reality, it was just a slap of paint on the walls, fresh tile in the bathroom and a new toilet. I didn’t like the fact that I saw roaches, mold, dirty bed sheets, hair and stains on the walls, and everything else inside the room felt like I needed a tetanus shot. Plus, the parking lot was very sketchy since it wasn’t very lit, and the guests appeared to be extremely unsavory (druggies, prostitutes, etc.) I immediately checked outta that place they called a “motel” when in reality it was a total nightmare!

I love the comfort and quietness. I always book here when I just need to get away from my hectic schedule and rest. I always get the non-smoking, king bed ,with the walk in shower with bath bench. Need to cement their walk ways. And not just patching them up. Someone could get hurt. I have neuropathy. God for bid Someone hurts themselves.

It's always a funky, wet dog smell inside the elevators and occasionally poo or pee! I hate that. But the cleaning staff are amazing! And the front desk ladies are very nice but the prices are out of their control.

For starters, they have a sign at the front desk that states “no refunds after 10 minutes of check in” I paid for my room at the property, I didn’t even go upstairs before I walked right back in and asked for a refund to which the receptionist stated she can’t refund me and the manager was out of the country so he can’t refund me either. So we had no choice to stay. Our room was on the 3rd floor, they only had 1 elevator and 1 stairwell for all 5 floors. We were only in the room for 10 minutes and my 2 year olds feet were PITCH black, needless to say they don’t clean properly. The bathtub was chipping paint everywhere and the curtain would fall down the rod only covering the mid section of the shower and the bathroom was always freezing! Mopped the floors 3 times and they were still filthy! Not to mention I woke up one day to our room door wide open bc housekeeping let themselves in while I was sleeping after they saw my bf leave to take our dog out. It was raining and freezing outside this day and we had 3 kids in the room. I work nights so I sleep during the day, I was napping during the time of the let in. They didn’t even knock. The only good thing about this stay was the internet!

Even though we paid for a 2 night stay then extended it for another 3 nights, they turned the key to our room off every day. It was the only inconvenience we came across though. Besides the problem with our key we really enjoyed it there. It was peaceful and quiet, the staff was friendly and the room was very surprisingly big.

Elevator was out of order. We stayed in the room long enough to book into the Hampton Inn. Went to the front desk, handed in my key (they will only give you on, no matter how many are in the room) and told him that the place was filthy and we couldn’t stay there. He offered a different room, but I couldn’t imagine that they would be better than what we were given initially. We got a full refund. We met another couple in the parking lot we had stayed the night before and they were on their phones trying to find another place to move to as well. They also confirmed that their room was filthy and smelled bad as well.

Neighborhood and exterior did not set expectations high, but found the room to be quite nice. I believe renovations are still ongoing as of may 2023, I was able to stay in a renovated room that was very nice and well furnished and cleaned. Had no quarrels with staff or service.

Bed had stains on the sheets and the pillows were disgusting, didn't even use them. Elevator was broken so I had to walk up to the 5th floor with my bags, then back down to get clean sheets and back up again. No good cable service, tv kept going in and out. No hot water, it was luke warm at best.

I went outside on the balcony to smoke and there were empty cups and dog poop on the floor. The toilet was not bolted down in the bathroom. Went to sit in the chair so I could put on my shoes and it was covered in dog hair.

Don't stay here. They charged my credit card twice. Was here on a vacation & didn't have enough money for another night until a couple days later when I got paid. They refused to help me even though I showed them my bank balance. Everyone was rude & argued with me except the person that made the error - she apologized many times.

It looks horrible from the outside, and upon walking in, we learn that we’re on the fifth floor and the elevator is out of order. The person checking me in asked if that was ok. I said no, but what option did I have? I’d hoped maybe there was another room on the second floor. No, I could cancel my reservation. Obviously I couldn’t do that and just hope another hotel could take me, so me and my shoulder injury took the room. (Carrying luggage up five flights isn’t recommended by my doctor.) Aside from that, the shower was awful. It sprayed more water on the ceiling than it did on the person in it. I’m still not sure if the door actually locked. It was very sticky. We had to test it. I think it did, but that’s not something you want to leave to chance. The blanket on the bed was a curtain. Not too bad. Just really weird. Definitely don’t stay here in general but especially if you’re disabled.

My stay at the hotel was good,elevator didn't work but that was ok,i was on the 5th floor with a balcony,beautiful view of the highway, place was pretty decent for the price, would definitely come back if needed to, it was quite and drama free,nice decent rooms and in nice quite area 👌👍

Looks like this is freshly renovated and taken care of. The staff were nice and attentive. Understanding things happen the only issue was no one was there to check me in I stood there for a long time waiting and finally a panicked employee came to the front desk said she couldn’t help right now due to an overdose in one of the rooms. She advised they were kicking the person out and she even offered a discount for the inconvenience. Awesome customer service and again I understand things happen so can’t really fault the hotel for actions of their guest.

This hotel was surprisingly a comfortable and relaxing stay. However, there is a lot of noise from the street that could be annoying if you’re a light sleeper. Also they are still remodeling so the jacuzzi rooms are not available.

Centrally located in the Tidewater area. Other than ongoing construction and a broken elevator, all lived up to expectations.

very dirty and disgusting. staff was very unhelpful when it came to me bringing up the dirtiness and the inconvenience of using the amenities. highly don’t recommend staying here.

Absolutely miserable stay and a huge ripoff. The swimming pool was green and lacking chemicals. Upon booking, we were promised free breakfast the next day and that was not something they offered. We had 2 towels for 4 people. A dirty bathroom floor with walls falling apart.

Nothing property is trash litterally

It was not a comfortable stay at all. As soon as I checked into the front office I got my key and two girl followed me back to my car. I ran to my car jumped in and left. This was the scariest hotel I have ever stayed at. There were people outside just waiting for people to get out of their cars. I left and never came back with room keys and all. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone and it’s sad they got my money for legit nothing.

I had to wait for them to have a worker come in to make sure my room was dirty then at 12 at night they decided to give us a cleaner room. And both rooms have bed bugs and just disgusting!!! Roaches everywhere outside. Water hazards!! That pace needs to be shut down!!! I got charged more than what I paid for and also they charged me for a random 25$ fee I have no idea why. And yes I do have pictures of how disgusting it was and pictures of my account saying it’s from Rodeway Inn!!! Never again!!!!!!! If you have kids please don’t take them there!!!!

The OWNER was rude and dishonest. The fromt desk woman shannon was excellent but the rooms were dirty, the first two were absolutely unacceptable. I will never stay at a property owned by these guys again.

The lady on the first night was night she was new but the lady on the second night was nasty and had a attitude I didn’t get her name but she was big & light in complexion. Our room had no mirror in the batheroom. The room door & balcony door was tough to open and close. The room was nice other then that though.

Recently under new management. Will be a nice place once they are finished. Construction during our stay and pool was closed. Staff is super nice and room was spacious. Excited to see finished project.

They were doing renovations when we got there so they’re trying to make it nice. But the rooms are okay at best. It is not close to the beach. It looks nothing like the pictures on google. Just be cautious. Rate 5 out of 10. It’s okay.

Some how our reservation was canceled. I definitely didn't do it. Then the manager wanted to charge me double than what i booked it for. The lobvy was a mess. We didn't end up staying there because this guy definitely was scheming for more money.

The remodeling project didn't concern us but the beds were so hard that we really did not sleep.

Dirty hotel at a ridiculous price. There was even a ladder still in my bathroom that I didn’t get a pic of. Couldn’t even take a shower.

The elevator sounded like it was going to breakdown. My room smelled so bad. The bed was really hard. The blankets were very thin. You had to mess with the hot water to get hot water. There was no complimentary breakfast which should be taken off the website. They need alot of updates.

I would not recommend staying here. Should be condemned.

Came in for one night. Selections were limited to none being as this was a last minute booking weekend after Memorial Day. Had no choice but stay. Between drugs and Prosecution not sure this place would do any other business. Rooms are dilapidated moldy and bug infested. I’m sure there are Mice as well. I frequent many Motels/Hotels in the Norfolk/Ocean View Area due to running fishing Charters. This will definitely be on “ my do not EVER book” list. Upon checking in Front desk clerk billed the Card on the Hotels.com Account even after being presented with the payment method for the stay. My regret is not taking pictures

Hotel is dirty. Rooms are dirty. Molds on shower curtain, not finished renovation, carpets, chairs are dirty. will avoid in the future

Old hotel, old moldy furniture, bugs just disgusting I never stayed because the sight of the room is creepy unsanitary and dark. Foreign owner was very rude and unprofessional. Did not accommodate what their falsely advertising on hotels.com and I had my 3 month old grandchild.

The condition of the hotel is not the best - very outdated and some patchwork solutions to damage in the rooms. The rooms appeared clean, however, and the staff was very friendly. This was good for me on a short, solo trip because of the convenient location, low price, and good service.

HEROINE inn this is a drug hotel hands down. The people who work there are rude, nasty and ghetto.

I had an excellent check in experience, the man at the desk was very nice. My room was clean and comfortable, I had no issues at all. Thank you!

This is not a family hotel, and I would not bring my kids here again. If you are looking for some entertainment, the people who stay here will provide that. Checked in and watched the "Ladies" stand outside of their rooms taking selfies of in very provocative clothing and suggestive stances. My husband and my son were both propositioned in the parking lot while bringing our luggage in. They were nervous about our cars out there overnight. There was also a fight in the parking lot that the desk clerk had to come out and yell at those folks to knock it off. She is a nice lady and I felt bad for her, cuz she probably has to deal with that all the time. We cleaned our rooms because of the covid-19 and wanted it to be safe for our kids to stay in, and definitely needed a good cleaning. Didn't get why they charge you $10 for a key which is refunded when you check out, but we needed a place to stay and were tired and didn't want to look for another place.

The room was clean, the bed was made up well and with plenty of pillows, the water pressure and shower just fine. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful at check-in and check-out. The only dings are the slight odor of cigarette smoke at the reception desk when I arrived, and a mountain of archaic paperwork at check in, including a $10 refundable key deposit.

Very affordable and great place to stay! I've stayed here two years in a row now on different occasions and it's been great
