clerk said that cab services were not reliable and said I should have used Uber or Lyft. He also told me the night desk clerk should have recommended a car service.

The room was huge with a separate living room. Two televisions made each person happy. The bathroom was spacious and the shower easy for a disabled person to enter into/out of it. The breakfast was the normal fare but there was a lot of it. Nicely done Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites!

I liked almost everything about the hotel except they lock the front door at 10:00 pm They lock the front doors at 10:00 and the double bed rooms the beds are full size at best

Love the omelets We got a room that sleeps 3.... there was 3 of us. the pull out sofa bed had no blankets, we discovered at 1am.. my husband went to the front desk and the guy said they didn't have any more. BS! Then go get some from an unoccupied room, it's not that hard to figure out. Or offer us a different room. We ended up giving him our bedsheet so he had something. When your guest states there will be 3 people sleeping there and they've paid almost 200 bucks for a night, make sure there are blankets!!! It was too late to go find another hotel!

The room was Fresh,Spacious and Clean. The Dove Hand and Body wash was a great addition. The Breakfast was Awesome, The young Lady who worked the Breakfast Buffet was very Accomadating and friendly. The Breakfast was fresh and Awesome Sausage, Omelets,Pancakes. Lastly Erick at the Front Desk was helpful and Friendly....Great price, Great Stay. Thank You❤️🥰

The room was clean I could tell they maintain it well because I do additional cleaning when I get to the room and can see additional dirt and grime that comes off and there was minimal. The staff were very friendly and even asked my preference on room floor and if I would like to be near the elevator or not. The one complaint I have that made me laugh because everything else was nice is when I went to use the bathroom in room 322 there was no toilet paper or even a toilet paper holder so I used the tissues and sent my daughter to get some from the front desk as the phone in the living area wouldn’t connect. They apologized and sent some TP back with her. With that being said I would still stay here again but I will definitely check for TP before I Cop a squat

Hotel was clean and there was a fair selection at the breakfast bar with freshly brewed coffee and tea available 24/7. The shining star of this Holiday Inn Express was the gentleman at the front desk. He was very friendly and went above & beyond to secure me gauze & tape when I cut my toe on the pavement. The hotel was also near many places to eat and felt safe. Definitely recommend!

The staff was amazing! The front desk clerk Erick was phenomenal. He went out if his way to make the stay great for everyone! I would recommend and definitely stay again. Also, the beds were heavenly. Our stay wasn't long enough! I was a bit sad the pancake machine was out of service though.

The room was okay; however, we had an issue with the temperature of the water. The sick and shower water were barely lukewarm which was a problem considering we traveled during winter. I flagged it for the front desk but the response was there was nothing they could do about it and that maintenance would be back at 9:00 a.m. in the morning which unfortunately was after our checkout time.

Maintance need to step their game up. There was coffee spill on the 4th floor by the elevator on the day I checked ✔️ in(1/30 -2/1), and was still there when I checked out.

I thought the coffee was weak. I wanted a make your own omelet option. They were out of yogurt. I did like hot beverages were offered 24 hours but needed better coffee.

The shower was cold, was told they keep water temperature at 74 degrees. That is ridiculous especially in the winter. I shouldn't have to take a cold shower then go out into the cold. Makes no sense the manager argue me down

Nothing really, this place is garbage. Room 316 No towels in at the pool. The handicap assist into the pool (that the hotels site is so proud to post in their photos) is non-functional and nearly completely rusted out. The reception told us at check in that breakfast was served until 11 but when we arrived before 11 it was closed. The AC went out in the room at about 9:30pm; the staff did offer to move rooms, but when you've just got a 2yo to sleep then moving at that point is an absurdity. The AC was being repaired as we were packing to leave the hotel... JUST IN TIME! (middle finger emoji). The shower (this is an ADA accessible room) had the shower head in a way that only sprayed out of the shower. There were some 'modification holes' that were drilled into the once adjustable fixture that I was able to shove a plastic fork into so that my children could shower. The room did not come with any linens for the pull out sofa. There was no coffee for the coffee maker. The ice machine was inoperable on my floor, and several other floors, but if you are adventurous as we were you can find one that works, at least as of December 2025, by 2026 the rest may have also died out idk. There were two elevators, but only one that worked, and took an average of 10min to call the one working elevator.

This was the perfect stay for my family. The indoor pool, the breakfast and the bed was the highlights of the hotel. I didn’t like that there wasn’t a smart tv or even casting channel for you phone to connect to tv. And I like a separate tub and showers. Shower curtains gives me the “ick”.

I arrived Friday night early Saturday 3:00 AM,It took a very long time to get checked in my reservation was not correct even though I made it in advance, We went to the room to find it was a king bed and couch, went back downstairs to question and was told did not have 2 queen beds, and I said there aren't any sheets or blankets for the couch, desk person bought the bedding and we had to make bed ourselves, the couch was very uncomfortable, could not sleep,I was also told I would have to go to front desk in AM to check reservation for Saturday evening and requested a additional room. The room for Friday evening ,there was only 1 wash cloth no Kleenex, I was not happy

They charged me double for a security deposit on accident. When I addressed the issue they told me they released the funds to me in that moment. Almost a week later they only released $100 and the accidental $100 charge was in fact not released to me. I was told to call my bank when I contacted the property. NO, they need to fix it! I shouldn’t have to go through my bank or any of this. Now I have to wait for the general manager to contact me after addressing this issue almost a week ago and they lied about giving me my money back.

The receptionist gave us an attitude for asking for extra items such as pillows, towels and blankets, for the room. We booked for 5 people and there were only 3 towels in the room. There was no trash can inside the bathroom. The safety lock on our door was broken. The only water available was from a water fountain.

The conforter and pillow case have strand of hair and the shower curtain was dirty on our first night of stay. The receptionist offered a room change which was so nice of her but since we were so tired since it was already late, I just asked for a new sheet. The breakfast was also not enough for the guests.

My grand daughter who was there with me had to cover the cost of the stay until I could get everything worked out, thankfully it did. Outside of that everything was pretty good. We came for some business. I was a short stay. The young lady at the check in was very nice and super professional. She asked our daughter what floor she wanted to be on and let her pick . The room was roomy but we received no room service our entire stay. Had to ask for toilet paper, Kleenex, and towels multiple times. Toilet was dirty. Handsoap was empty and holder was broken. Toilet paper holder was broken. Pool was so dirty you couldn’t see through the water!

The check out process was very smooth and easy! My child could do it. We were greeted with a great welcome, they knew my name. That was a nice touch. Now for the part I was not quite happy with…although I did not book the room through the hotel’s website, the check in process was absolutely frustrating. Couldn’t find my already paid booking. We asked about getting a late check out and was told they we can’t have it. I have never known a hotel to deny extra money for late check. Moving on. Supposedly, the card on file declined. The hell it didn’t…but whatever I provided another card that I know I had a very good amount of available. She

The hotel was in a good location, near the naval base and airport. I am not sure what they use to mop the floor but the bathroom floor was sticky afterwards. The elevator floors needed to be mopped more frequently. The room was clean.

The hotel itself was nice enough, but the people that stayed in the hotel were the problem. The staff were helpful and kind. The breakfast was good. My family woke up to the smell of marijuana in our hotel room in the early morning hours. This caused us to try to get out of the hotel as fast as we could. I personally wouldn't stay at this location again.

Breakfast was disappointing. There was no toaster for the bread, and all the food had a bland taste specially the eggs and bacon.

I choose this hotel prior to arriving. I have all good things to say after my stay here. There was a big parking lot, the room was very big, the bed was super comfortable, the room had a microwave and fridge and the shower was excellent. There were numerous food options in walking distance and the hotel was so close to the Amtrak and airport. The only area needing improvement was the breakfast. It was the same thing the two day I was there and it wasn’t very good. It also would be nice if the hotel notified the guest ahead of time that they pre-charge the card. I did not like having to call the hotel to inquire what they charge my card in the morning 8 hours prior to my check in time. I would stay at this hotel again though.

Stayed for two nights, the room was awesome, very clean, came back in the evening with bathroom stuff replaced and bed made. the guy at the lobby desk was very friendly and had a nice conversation with him.

The property manager reported my boyfriend and I as wanted fugitives that checked in under a fake name even though they check my valid ID when we checked into the hotel. We don’t even live in the state of Virginia. We were visiting for a local concert. We had police and swat banging on our door at 2:30-3:00am, pulled us out of our room, exposed, and cuffed in the hallway until they figured out that we were NOT the people they were looking for. I will never book with a Holiday Inn again! It ruined our trip as we have 3 children and were just trying to have a peaceful 1 night stay out of town to spend some time together.

This is a nice hotel. My only complaint is the check in desk got really backed up with alot of people checking in at the same time. I think there should have been two people there. But besides that it is a nice hotel & shopping & resturants close by. Our room was very spacious & well laid out.

My experience was excellent. Check-in was smooth, though I must have overlooked the $100 incidental fee. The only issue with our room (204) was the absence of a full-length mirror. Aside from that, the stay was wonderful, and the beds were very comfortable.

I checked in on a Friday. I stood in line for 20 minutes to check in. I got checked in, up to the room. Room was okay, but dirty. There were no trash bags, floors were not vacuumed, bathroom floor was not cleaned nor was the sink. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom at all. Phones in the room did not work so I had to use my personal phone to call the front desk. I told them, they told me to come to the front desk and get those items. I had 3 kids with me. I was alone. I did go get them. The bed cover did not look clean. The towel hook was hanging off the wall, there was a hole in the one wall of the bedroom. The shower curtain rod was broken. Next day breakfast was okay. The machine for juices was all out including the water. We decided to go swimming. I asked the cleaning lady that was on our floor for more towels and she told me no. She could not give me towels. So I went down to the pool in hopes there would be towels.. there were none. I went to the front desk and after waiting 15 minutes. I returned back to the pool with no towels because I received no service because of the 5 people that were waiting to check in. I went back to the room showered and packed up my kids and left a day early, because I could not stand to be in the hotel any more.

Donte was really helpful and offered excellent customer service, he was quick to respond on any issue and made sure our stay was excellent and we had some good conversations and he was cool. Mike was also very nice and would greet us and ask if we needed anything, he looked out for some plates late night when my door dash restaurant didn't put any in the bag!😁

The stay was ok but the morning service was not good a lady at the front desk round noon when I call over about the room was very nasty her attitude stinks

Every interaction with staff was great. They were personable, respectful, and diligent with their jobs. When we checked in there was an alarm sounding from behind a maintenance panel in the room and we were moved to a comparable room on the next floor. Unfortunately, our experience was tainted by other patrons from that point on. The elevator and hallway smelled of marijuana, and the smell and noise levels filled our room as the night went on. We ended up canceling our second night because we didn’t feel comfortable with our children.

Cons: the other people trying to check in. Many people complaining and causing trouble, people smoking marijuana outside and coming in making many areas smell of smoke and marijuana, there was no bedding in the room to make up the couch which had a big pole down the middle and the head area was below the feet. We waited in line and they promptly gave us sheets for the couch. But My son had to sleep sideways. There was a lot of noise in the hallways which wasn’t the hotels fault, the heat and cold air was very temperamental and not consistent. It was either hot or cold. We had to put it on 80 to get it 70 in there.

The staff at the front desk were more than helpful! They were so friendly and accommodating! I would go back just because of the staff!

My stay was Excellent my room was perfect! The only disappointment was the eggs on the continental breakfast tasted horrible and could not finish eating and I wish they had some fruit available.

The room was wonderful. So spacious and clean and comfortable. The only problem I had was at the breakfast on Sunday morning. The area was messy and no one was there keeping it picked up and supplied. The hot water for tea was empty and we had to go ask at the front desk for someone to fill it. Otherwise it was a great visit!

Wouldn't be easy for staff to notice how many in the party and offer the extras reqd at check in versus making you make multiple trips to the front desk to do their job for them???

Exponentially better than the Residence Inn we paid for but left to stay here at HIE

It was so so this time. It is really upsetting to see such a spacious and newer space depreciate in quality from lack of sevices. They did not load the soap dispensers. One of my night stand bulbs was out. Some of the employees were outstanding... literally evryone at the front desk was great. But some employees treated the patrons like they were a burden. I think if you are the first person a patron will encounter, then you should be in a great mood in the morning. This is said of the attendant at the breakfast station. She was always late. Nothing was stocked. It was a sub par experience.

Breakfast service was poor and the host who was working was very rude to the guests.

I'll definitely stay there again

Short weekend trip to drop off our daughter to school. From check in to check out all of the staff was extremely accommodating. Will definitely stay here again.

I did not enjoy my stay at all bathroom sink water ran slow took the water about 30 minutes to warm up the fridge did not work water was at the bottom of it the bed was one side uncomfortable the toilet kept stopping up had to take the led of to flush it Saturday night we couldn’t sleep because of loud music playing for over 3 to 4 hours we told the front desk of all the things was wrong he told me he would switch us out rooms he didn’t told us he would at 3:30 or 4pm kept us waiting it was after 7:45pm and the room still wasn’t ready I went down and told him never mind it was late and we had shower for the night I never has this problem before and I always go there but this visit was very poor

I love staying here when I come to visit my son. In the navy ! But this time ask for clean towels and asked three time . The last time the front person go them and brought them to me!

the bathroom shower curtain rods brackets were loose and slightly tilted - which would cause the curtain to slide down and for water to spray out of the tub area...

The side door did not work with my room key. The fridge in the room was sitting on only 3 legs, so it wobbles. The staff were pleasant and professional.
