Very clean . Great location. The pillows were so flimsy no one in our group of 6 slept well.

Even with the current construction every one made you feel welcome. We had a newly remodeled room and it was delightful. PS don't believe all the bad reviews. The water is very hot...it's a good thing.

I liked the updated room and how it was set up. The hotel is undergoing renovations which did not hamper my stay but there was an extension cord plugged in by my room that I almost tripped over. It blended in with the rug. It probably should have had tape or something over it.

The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed The first night we were there our toilet clogged up the second night the shower didn’t work the staff was rude and pay at property is a lie they charge you half before you get there and the rest when you get there and extra fees when you check out I will never stay here again

Property under major renovation and not once was it mentioned on line or anywhere else. Literally walked through power tools, tarps, construction workers to get to the elevator. Our room appeared to have been renovated already but smelled like bug spray. The refrigerator was warm. The coffee maker didn't have an accessible outlet to plug it in and the people who were sent to assist in resolving any of this did not speak English and were trying to translate on an app. We could still not understand what they were saying to us. Breakfast was the same thing 3 mornings in a row and there is no convenient place to dine fir other meals. I make 5-6 trips to Norfolk a year for the past 5 years and this was the absolute worst experience ever. Oh by the way, the pool doesn't exist so don't be fooled by the pretty picture on the website!

I was not told it was under renovation. Carpets taken up, holes cut in the ceiling in a hallway bathroom. Liquid leaking from a refrigerator in the hallway, construction dust around vending machines, food droppings in the hallway not cleaned up. Previous tenants clump of hair on the floor in room. Also had requested a location with a pool. They had taken pool out. The condition of this hotel was not worth the price at all. It is now making me rethink my choices of hotel chains.

They are in the middle of a renovation, but our floors was completed and the room was updated and very nice. The bed was comfortable and our room was quiet. Breakfast was nice, they had eggs, breakfast meat and hash browns in addition to oatmeal, cereal and muffins. The hotel was very close to the navy base.

The hotel really should be closed completely during the renovations.

Unfortunately, we were there during refurbishing the main building, but our room was very clean, and updated. The staff was excellent and extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The morning breakfast was more elaborate than expected and the staff that prepared the food was wonderful. Food was always stocked, warm, and tasty. The entire area was super clean. Check in was easy and smooth. We were very pleased with the area, many food restaurants choices for every palate within walking distance. Beds were comfortable and bed linens were crisp, very clean, not worn. Rooms had no odors, and bathrooms were clean. We like the complimentary shampoo, body wash, body lotion containers that were full stocked. Towels were plentiful and clean. Plenty of parking that we felt was secure. We would highly recommend and would book again.

I only gave the facility a 3/5 because they are in the middle of remodeling and downstairs was tricky getting to the elevators. All the rest I gave 5/5. Our room is was very clean and the hallways smell new! Once the renovation is complete definitely 5/5. The front staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was as hot, fresh and a lot of food! Definitely recommend staying here.

Location great and staff excellent- they had AC problems which they worked hard to fix. Shower was nice but didn’t understand why body lotion was in shower dispenser - slippery hazard in our opinion. Downside was bed was very uncomfortable and in room coffee wasn’t refilled during whole visit ( minor inconvenience)

The breakfast was an average continental breakfast with not much variety. The hotel location was convenient because it was very near to the Naval base. The hotel needs to be renovated completely . The first room provided had a very bad odor. The second room they gave us the heater was not working and it was cold at night.

The property is older and has low toilets. As of OCT 2025 its being renovated so no pool. EVERYTHING else was great. Comfortable room, yummy breakfast with many choices and I found the staff outstanding except for the one cleaning breakfast area. She was having a bad day. :) Everyone else, truly wonderful. I recommend them.

The front desk staff were lovely. The hotel is old and will be renovated soon. The room was visibly dirty and the bedding was suspect. The “hot” breakfast items were not hot.

Great fitness room (small but well-equipped with modern equipment and weights). Thank you for replacing the treadmill! Loved the fact that there is always free hot coffee, bananas and apples @ the lobby. I will keep coming back because of the excellent service, value and the nice-to-haves!

I cut my leg on a bed frame

The location was very convenient to the naval base. The building is under renovation, which is understandable. The included breakfast was decent and convenient not having to go out to eat. The bath tub/shower needed work. The handle and spout were operable, but loose.

The hotel was not clean, and the facilities needed an upgrade. The carpet at the entrance had stains, and the hotel had an unpleasant odor.

The pool wasn’t open and the pillows are not the best

Our first night was terrible. The toilet in our room did not work, and the phone was also out of service, so my husband had to go downstairs to report it. Instead of maintenance, he was sent back with a plunger and told we’d have to wait until the next day since no one was available to fix it. This was extremely inconvenient, especially with two young granddaughters and no working toilet all night. The next day, maintenance came but still couldn’t fix the issue. We were told we’d have to wait until another guest checked out before we could move. Once we finally got into the new room, it was much better—clean and more comfortable. Overall, the cleanliness was okay, but the first-night experience left a very negative impression. The second room improved our stay, but the lack of urgency and proper response on the first night was very disappointing

The hotel smells of mildew. The beds are wet due to the mildew. Says it a non smoking facility but it reeked of cigarette smoke. The staff was nice. I could have stayed at a motel 8 and saved myself 1k.

Hilton property. Really? Trash cans always full outside. Refrigerators in room did not work. They replace refrigerator with a broken refrigerator. Unreal! $650 down the tubes. Checked out a day early and bit the money.

I booked a single room with one king-size bed for myself and my partner through Expedia. When we arrived to check in, they gave us a double with two extra large twins and said no other rooms were available, even though I booked the room well in advance. The pool was being used as a storage room and closed off, so that was a disappointment as well. There is only one elevator and it works when going up but seems to not work at all when going down (we were on the top floor.) All in all, I am not pleased and will not be returning.

Location for cruising was very good. It was a very old hotel. It did seem safe and was clean. Included breakfast was good. Beds were fine, pillows were laughable (we asked for extras because they were so small and thin— they said they didn’t have any). Showers were terrible— no water pressure at all, and only lukewarm water.

The hotel was conveniently located near my daughter's school. The staff were friendly. The hotel and the room had an unpleasant odor, and there were poor repairs in the bathroom tub and shower. Additionally, mold and hair were present in the tub, and stains were visible in the toilet. The pool had no water in it, and the area was being used to store bottled water.

What I liked was the location, easy access, and the breakfast was good. What I didn't like was it was dingy, rundown and dirty. The bed was awful and HARD. We heard our neighbors talking on both sides. We had to ask to have our room cleaned. I will not be staying there again

The person at the reception desk never greeted us and stated just wait I just got here and I’m not logged in but kept eating her snack instead of logging in to check us in. The back door of the reception area was open and showed a very messy and dirty part of the back office just not a good look. The room was great and clean and breakfast was also good can’t complain there but that first impression was not great.

Bed was okay, not super firm but not super soft. Cleaning service could be improved, they also only service the rooms every other day. The bathroom I had was having issues with the faucet, it would make an awful high pitching sound if you turned it completely on. It’s in a really convenient location if you’re going to the base, and is in a prime spot. If it wasn’t for those two things, this wouldn’t be worth the nightly rate.

Computer system down, no reservations details, rooms assigned on paper, 2 ladies worked hard - still had to call guests cell phones to ask what room they were in (house phones not working). Older smaller Hampton, needs upgrading.

Hampton Inn just doesn’t seem to be what it was, or at least this one doesn’t. Sparse room, uncomfortable hard bed, two regular size pillows & two pillows that seemed to be 1/2 size on a king bed. Just disappointing.

I was given a room that wasn't properly cleaned and had a horrible smell. Maintenance or the housekeeping staff even left equipment behind in the room. Thankfully, someone canceled their reservation, and I could have my room switched because the staff kept saying the hotel was fully booked as if we had no choice but to stay in the smelly room.

Room was fine although a large stain on carpet. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was just so so. No waffle batter or eggs until I informed the desk staff. Although there was a sign fir bakery, there were no baked goods.

I had to book this hotel after an extremely awful experience at another hotel. I appreciated the hotel for being clean and safe. My wife and I got settled and were attempting to fall asleep, but I kept hearing a dripping noise. I got up to investigate and noticed the ceiling leaking. I immediately went to the front desk and they acted swiftly by changing my room. I was inconvenienced by having to relocate in the middle of the night. The stay was pleasant although there were issues with the first room.

Our Naval Officer son flew out to Rota, Spain on a military flight...and this hotel was the perfect place to stay to send him off !!
