    They charge too much for a dirty, run down facility that doesn't care about their customers. Their breakfast is a joke and the burned down car in the lot and busted windows on the building suggest this is a less than 1 star establishment.

    Ice machine was not working on 4th floor, Parking was ok, no issues, Breakfast is not the best. No eggs,, they just give you the basics. Carpet was dirty. Coffee wasn’t the best. It was warm not hot. Elevator was out of service for the 2 days I stayed there. I do not recommend this place. Save up for a better hotel.

    The worst hotel experience of my life! I was scheduled to stay June 4-7. I will spare you the long list of complaints. I will just tell you this- I woke up at 1 am on 6/7 to use the bathroom, light came on and there were ROACHES everywhere. immediately went to pack up and found several in my bed and in the drawers. No one at the front desk, to talk to. Loaded up my car, dropped keys off and left. Had to drive two hours to get home in the middle of the night! NEVER again.

    On the Expedia site it said connecting rooms were available, after several calls and messages we were finally assured we would get a connecting room because we had children but the rooms were not connected, it was a lie, when I asked to be switched to the promised connecting rooms they told use they don't have any. On the Expedia website it advertises a buffet breakfast, that is a second lie. It is actually a VERY bare "continental breakfast with sub par coffee, stale toast and muffins, cereal dispensers, a small waffle maker, but it is unclean. Everything was mostly gone by 830am when we came down, we were utterly disappointed. I want to reiterate that there is no possible way this can be called a buffet and this was the single reason I booked these rooms over other hotel choices. Another issue was our rooms were barely turned over for new guests. Room one had one half used roll of toilet paper (no spare rolls), broken roll dispenser and a mostly empty tissue box. Room two had two half used toilet rolls, I firmly believe they recycle used product to save a buck. Food was also left in the 2nd room microwave from a prior guest, it was a disgusting mess. After our first day out we came back to find no house keeping was done to either of our rooms, when I brought it to the front desk's attention they told me I have to request it every morning of my stay. Their excuse is that they have received guest complains of theft by the staff! AND THEIR BEDS ARE ROCK HARD!!

    The room was nice, but the tub would get easily clogged and took forever to go down, food was ok a little disappointing that the breakfast was small, I wish they would put better pillows and blankets the blanket was a bit rough. Otherwise the hotel was nice.

    When I entered the room, it was a bug on the floor, the sheets were dirty, there were holes in the walls, and the safety bar on the door was broken. I went back. To the front desk and told them that the room was not clean, and I wouldn’t be safe staying there on top of the fact that I didn’t even get the room that I reserved, they told me I had to call Expedia and are still trying to charge me for the room.

    It was a good hotel if you are just spending A night. One single night. When we first arrived I checked in, but it wasn't a check in like I'm used to. The guy was nice but didn't speak much English. I had to correct my address and he said he corrected it but I never saw the correction. That and I had my debit card ready to pay because I did the reserve now pay later option. Instead of using my card right then and there he said it was already paid for. Needless to say I was very confused. The room was ...ok...small for an accessible room which is what I wanted since I have a child under 1. The more space the better but this didnt quite have much space. I also didn't realize our bathroom had a timer for the light. Having to jump out from the shower to jump in front of the sensor is funny now but it wasn't at that moment where I could have slipped and hurt myself. The curtains were very noticeably dirty still. The breakfast buffet was... scarce....even for 8 am considering they open at 7 am...again, good for 1 single night. Full vacation? Forget it! That and I think a homeless guy walked in at some point...he didnt seem friendly, clean or even a person staying at the hotel so...yeah...That and we found out later on the front desk attendant was also the front desk attendant for the hotel across the street. No wonder he seemed frazzled.

    THE day front desk worker was at least apologetic about the dead caterpillars. He gave us a broom to clean them up. We understood about them. It had rained and the proximity to the water, it’s something that happens. We went to dinner, came back to ROACHES. I lifted the toilet seat and there were two roaches running across the toilet, then one on the TV. We requested another room, after contacting the corporate customer service and waiting outside for the front desk person to appear. The second room was WORSE. Another guest was attempting to help us move to the other room. Opened the door to ROACHES on the wall and on the floor. Front desk said that the ROACHES wouldn’t bother us 😡 And we had to wait to speak with the manager in the morning. We left and slept at a rest stop, unable to get any rooms after midnight. Still tryibg to get a manger on the phone.

    We got there in the evening and brought home-cooked food for our son. The attendant let us use the breakfast nook for our dinner, just asking us to clean up after ourselves. The attendant was courtious throught the whole check-in/ dinner procedure.

    The floor was absolutely filthy. Walked around in my socks for a very short time and the bottom of my socks were black. There were no elevators. I had to carry my heavy bags up and down the stairs. The cold water in the bathroom didn't work. I stayed in room 205.

    Staff was nice. Property is old and tore up. First room tv didn't work pulled back sheets and there was huge stain. Staff switched room tv didn't work, sheets where slightly better. Solution: I always carry Lysol, I sprayed bed down, went to Walmart and got bed in bag, watched movie on phone and went to sleep. It was cheap and somewhere to sleep for night. I checked in at 1130 at night and was gone by 9am .

    I was meet with a couple of baby roaches and slugs at the door. Room needed to be swept better. There was not enough towels and wash cloths for the amount of guests. Even after having to buy my own broom to sweep up some of the dead slugs and few more popped up during my stay. Upon arriving to the front desk to check in, the worker was complaining about the laziness of the other shift workers without greeting first.

    Room was not very clean. Found trash around one of the night stands when I was looking for the reason the night stand lamps and clock wasn’t working. Found out they weren’t plugged in. So, I plugged those in behind the mattress, nothing. Tried the switches on the wall. Nothing. So then I plugged them into a long extension cord that plugged into ANOTHER outlet on the same wall. Nothing! Two switches at the entryway did nothing. That’s when I noticed the electrical conduit coming out of the ceiling from somewhere else to power the TV, fridge, two lamps, and a power strip. The duvet cover was soiled with something white in drip pattern. The bathtub drained extremely slow. The stairwell strongly smelled of marijuana often. The back door that requires a key card doesn’t close. The breakfast wasn’t. If waffles are the only thing you want to eat, then you’ll be fine. My key card stopped working on my second day. Two attempts (two trips to the front desk) didn’t correct it. Finally fixed with management coming up with the “special key”. The laundry detergent vending machine didn’t operate. The room across the hall had set all of their trash outside their room, it sat there for a day and a half until it was finally removed. The blinds and curtains were broken! Oh! And, when I checked in there was a sign saying to go next door to the Red Roof Inn for assistance. Met that clerk halfway there. The property was not kept up. If they offer room 229, don’t take it!

    Red roof Inn , the I settle for the Comfort Inn but , the rooms had mold in some of them , bad smell in one on them. But over the staff in the evening was much kind then the staff in the morning. I had to shorten my stay because the room wasn’t very comfortable. Only stayed one night . The Staffing in the morning asked why I would stay the whole time. I was just honest with her that the rooms had mold in it rooms . Overall it was very good condition but it’s low end hotel, motel ,

    The room was disgusting. It smelled so bad (from cigarettes) I had to eat my dinner in my car. There was a hair in the bed that looked like pubes, and the room was disgusting. I had a room for a second night but cut my trip short and left. I showered as soon as I got home and washed the clean clothes I had taken because they stink if that room.

    First off the hotel isn't even the same name you book it under. The smoke alarm in our room was beeping all night long, the blinds do not close and the toilet was leaking, got our clothes soaked. The area is sketchy too. I left my kids outside (23 and 14) to go get a cart for our luggage and a man was trying to circle our car until they started being very loud. We only stopped to sleep on our way home but i would never book again.

    Property was dated. Though the rooms were clean, the paint was chipped in a lot of places. I saw a front desk person on Friday when I checked in, but Saturday and Sunday for the front desk you had to go over to the Redroof Inn. Breakfast was lacking. Bread and mini muffins, cereal, and apples. I would not recommend this place.

    This property is roach infested every way you look that was a roach in both buildings in all three buildings. There were roaches. Please do not go here. It’s unsuitable to even have children there messes with your breathing and all that stuff I killed for them roaches.

    You have to ask for room service. I asked twice and never got any. You can hear everything happening in the halls as the doors aren’t sealed properly, no hot water for 2 days. No breakfast. Other than that the room was okay at best. Some lady threw a basketball at my truck. She was tweaked out and after I got out to confront her she started dancing and didn’t even care. I think they live at the hotel which is crazy to me. I might just of had terrible luck with this hotel but that was my experience and I don’t usually write reviews but I had to on this one. I’ve stayed in over 100 hotels and this one was by far the weirdest.

    My husband and I checked out before 11 am ( check out time), we would told that we could not wait for our ride to come, our property had to be off of their property quickly. So my husband moved our belongings to the woods behind the motel, my husband and I was siting back in the woods waiting for our ride. The black guy who ran the front desk saw us sitting there and told us that we couldn’t and that we were no longer able to rent a room there. I had to have the ac on and the window open to get air because the room right next store to mine (152). There was weed being smoked and cigarettes being smoked and I have to get air to me because I have asthma and highly allergic to weed. I have told the front desk, ( black guy was working), he was rude as hell and told me to mind my own damn business and he doesn’t care about my health. He also informed me not to speak to anyone else about the issues or he will find a way to make sure we would never be able to rent a room at the red roof on warehouses close blvd, again.     The free Wifi was nice There were used tissues by the AC vent, hair was located on the shower walls, which did not match the current individuals occupying the room, and there was random plastic trash tucked behind the mattress. The "gym" had one workout bike and bags of miscellaneous items pushed up near the mirror. I also want to note the interaction we had with the man at reception. The man just kept going on and on about his "125 IQ" and that he couldn't be in the military because he "can take orders from people who aren't as smart" as him. The whole conversation was off-putting and honestly annoying. Also, please keep in mind that this hotel is near a gentleman's club, and you'll run into some interesting individuals later in the evening

    The bed was quite comfortable to sleep on. The front desk receptionist made me wait 40 minutes before I could even check into my room. The toilet in my room didn't flush. The breakfast wasn't very good and didn't have a whole lot of variety. The area that the hotel is in is a super sketchy part of Newport News.

    My wife was getting my wheelchair out of my car When she opened up the back of my and hit a pothole and rolled her ankle. No one was in the lobby after she checked us in. Then, we get into our room with black mold all over the ceiling, a curtain that won't close because of the asphalt missing out of the parking lot. I try to get into the lobby, and I almost fell out of my wheelchair due to the main threshold of the main lobby door. In our room, (131)there were blood stains all over floor,the bathroom had dried up blood in the corner's by the door. We had a guy stare at us through our window at 2am, and I used my light at him. He left quick. Breakfast wasn't even done when they said it would be and no one to check out. Don't worry, I will NEVER SUGGEST TO USE THAT HOTEL. I BELIEVE THAT someone should put that money back on my (hotel's.com account) don't send me anything back. 😤

    There isn't a full kitchen there was a refrigerator. Which was beneficial for me packing and preserving my insulin. The front desk charges you if you come to check in early. That's the first hotel I've ever experienced that at. I just lost a family member I only needed to change my clothes. There was no sympathetic response in any regard. I am from Virginia. But I live in Florida now every time I've come home to visit I stayed at that hotel which used to be called mulberry inn. I had better service when it was nearby ran down then I did this time. Sad. Overall the hotel is nice it's in a decent location.

    It needs to be torn down and rebuilt. The people they let stay there and work there are horrible and it is ROACH INFESTED!!! A pest control person can’t fix that.     The only nice thing was the woman that checked us in. We go to Busch Gardens a lot and this trip was kind of last minute so options were limited. I thought i would give this place a try. Everything in the hotel was very dilapidated. It smelled very dank. The ac was loud and made weird noises. I killed a roach in the middle of the night when i turned the light on to use the bathroom. One of my daughters got a weird rash on her face, arms, and legs. I think it was from the bedding. The breakfast was a joke. There was warm milk and cereal in a container that was filthy! The juice machine only had water that smelled and the coffee was terrible! I paid in advance so i toughed it out instead of leaving for the second night. My kids are pretty easygoing so they didn't complain so that helped. When we left one of them asked if we were going to stay there again. All 4 of them stared at me waiting for my answer. I swiftly told them no. And also told them we were not staying it that area either. Its really ghetto there!

    Third time I stayed here. Staff very nice and accommodating. Hotel is dated, and the room was clean, but hallways and other areas seemed to be lacking attention to cleanliness.     I have stayed here before & booked here because of the hot brkfst; even paid a lil more than the other options I looked at.. my kids have always enjoyed the pool & pool table.. however the Mulberry Inn is now in the Comfort Inn building & the old Mulberry Inn is now a Red Roof Inn.. so when I booked I was expecting something very different; all the amenities were still being advertised; but weren't available; or if they were & you were allowed access to the other building, the staff didnt bother to info you.. anyway, Highly disappointed in the brkfst or lack thereof; they use to have a very nice set-up, not anymore.. so overall stay was ok but nothing special.. I definitely wont go out of my way to stay here again

    We were visiting for the night & as soon as we got into the room the floor was slippery, the toilet had no water, the bed sheets had cigarette burns, WEED STEMS on the bed, CAT HAIR on the chairs (I’m highly allergic), and the room smelt like cigarettes. Not to mention the hallway smelt like cigarettes & so warm like there wasn’t A/C. The front desk guy showed us another room and upon doing so, those lights weren’t working (had a sign on the light switch don’t turn on lights) neither was the A/C. Horrible. He wouldn’t refund us so He transferred us to the neighbor hotel (I guess they’re connected somehow?) but there was NO A/C in the hotel!!! They tried to give me a king bed or a room with double beds with no television. When we told them we booked through Expedia magically they had a room that was supposed to be another guests room. When morning came around and we went to the Buffett breakfast. It only consisted of waffles, toast and Raisin Bran. If you are going to promote a Buffett breakfast I would kindly suggest having more options. After being out all day and visiting with our friend, we went up to our room and our keys were deactivated as well..

People down the hall were smoking questionable herbs. Could have been vaping, but that too isn’t allowed in the building from what I read. Children were on my floor as well and subject to the odor.

    It was a drug motel.the pot smell would come in under door.There would be worms 🐛 in the mornings on the dirty floor everyday.Their pool was closed. I didn't expect the place to be perfect.     They didn’t have a room ready for me, even though I had reserved and prepaid on February 9th and had the confirmation and receipt. They left to go to the next door property to work it out and took more than 15 minutes to do so. Finally, they got me a room. The property is very run down. We couldn’t even get the tv to work, just static. We were planning on doing laundry at the facility since we’d been on the road more than a week. We couldn’t even do that because the soap dispenser was out of order. I would not recommend and will not be returning.

    The room was not clean upon our arrival two hours after check in. There was hair in the shower and a person’s shirt on the back of the bathroom door. There were ashes in the drawers and tobacco on the floor. The floors were noticeably not sweep and linen not fresh. The TV didn’t work and there were roaches constantly in the kitchen area. The office refunded one night for the TV and said the management company don’t give a hell about the property and the inspector along with the housekeeping staff are relatives of the owners who don’t do their jobs. We had to clean the whole place top to bottom to even be comfortable enough to stay and requested fresh linen and towels immediately. This place is for people on hard times looking for a cheap extended stay. This is not recommended for family vacation. It should honestly be shut down. If you’re trying to save money, remember that you get what you pay for and honestly this wasn’t even worth the money I paid.

There were ashes in the drawers and tobacco on the floor. The floors were noticeably not sweep and linen not fresh. The TV didn’t work and there were roaches constantly in the kitchen area. The office refunded one night for the TV and said the management company don’t give a hell about the property and the inspector along with the housekeeping staff are relatives of the owners who don’t do their jobs. We had to clean the whole place top to bottom to even be comfortable enough to stay and requested fresh linen and towels immediately. This place is for people on hard times looking for a cheap extended stay. This is not recommended for family vacation. It should honestly be shut down. If you’re trying to save money, remember that you get what you pay for and honestly this wasn’t even worth the money I paid.

    Room was filthy!! The shower curtain was black with mildew, no trash can, the blinds were broken and hanging down, the tub had hair in it, the beds were made up tacky and upon inspection hair on the sheets and pillows. I told my children don’t touch anything and didn’t even want the dogs to touch the floor. The only positive was the man running the front desk he graciously moved us to a sister hotel and I truly appreciate that!

    I am surprised with how good the ratings were with this property that the experience was so poor. We had issues with the staff, when we asked what time breakfast was and when it was running and then we actually went down there wasn't any coffee cups, wasn't sugar but that worst part was when we asked if they were going to fill the waffle batter they said no even though there was 2 hours left of breakfast. And when I went to the front desk and asked for a towel and another bar of soap, the staff checked in with me three times and then told me that they would need to have housekeeping bring it up. The property was clean and about what you would expect but the staff and interaction with them along with the lacking breakfast definitely should lower their rating.

    First when we arrived they said they were an extended stay which it was not advertised as such. Then they put us in a room that smelled absolutely awful. I'll leave it to the imagination as to what was all over the walls. Then we were provided another room which was much cleaner and smelled better. Then Ill assume that extended stay customers literally were having tented parties in the parking lot. At 230 in the morning someone began beating on the room door for well over an hour. When such person was let in from his visit to the gentleman's club that was with in walking distance the couple argued loudly for another hour !

    The guy at the front desk was very disrespectful to me from the moment i walked in then continued to tell me he was going to cancel my booking and i could get my money back by contacting the third party i booked with once i contacted third party they told me they had to contact the hotel and then the guy at the hotel tells them i never showed up so basically he was disrespectful to me, stole my money and lied.

    Was told by a male attendant I could use the one in another room. After he laughed because I said there is supposed to be one as an amenity. He said "we are remodeling"! The shower curtain rod was a safety hazard! Hanging out of the wall! I found a couple of milipedes crawling around the floor, but the attendant said "yes, they are everywhere now!" There were stained towels, and the cover of the bed also had stains on them. Room's smell of stale cigarettes and who knows what else! One of the lady's working there was very nice, and we found her next door at The Red Roof Inn, our son got a room there for one night. We should have got a room there! You cannot tell by the pictures how the room is going to be. Whomever writes these things up for the consumer to go by, doesn't tell the truth! I really should have asked for my money back. They should probably be checked up on by the health department in the area.

    I ended up finding a different place to stay. When I got to my new hotel I had three people tell me even the super cheap people don’t stay at the Red roof inn. There was big chunks of paint missing off several walls in the room. The whole upstairs heavily smelled like marijuana. The stairs had a fowl smell. I don’t think there was an elevator at least that I saw. The bed was very uncomfortable when I sat on it. I also might have seen blood on the floor but it could have been juice or something red… I didn’t feel safe staying there and didn’t want to

Staff discussed this among themselves. I eventually was given room 201. I told him about confusion at checkin, he left. 2:10 AM? Huh? When I told the woman on duty this AM as I left at a little after 8AM, she didn't seem especially concerned. Facility is fine, my experience was awful.     While this property was convenient and affordable, you get what you pay for. I really wanted to like it because our checkin was great and the hotel staff were friendly. This was our second time staying here, and both times, the air quality of the heater was poor and the room was not clean. It looked like there had been things spilled on the floor with no attempt to clean. The motion-sensor light in the bathroom was also not ideal. The treadmill and the bike in the workout room did not work. The outdated rooms didn’t bother me as much, and the beds were comfortable.

    It was ok except for the TV didn't work. After talking to the desk manager it did not get fixed. On the second day it did not get fixed. She told me that she would say something to the manager about us having an unsatisfactory stay. That did not happen either. Needless to say we will not be staying at this hotel chain again.

    We arrived to check in and there was no staff in the hotel. We called wvery bumber we could find and finally got someone at Comfort Inn customer support. I was on the phone with them for 45 minutes as they called around trying to find someone to assist us. (They were calling rhe hotel that i was standing in with no staff). We wnded up leaving to male the event we were scheduled to be at with the promise that they would have a supervisor call me. No one wver called me back. We did finally get checked in when the night shift employee came in to find that no employee had been there since the night before.

    The place is not good people on front desk they don’t know what they do, my check in was horrible, they charge me twice and not want give me my money back, horrible service and the room have roach stains everywhere…

    WE WERE THERE TO SEE MY GRANDSON WHO WAS AT FORT EUSTIS. WE WENT OUT FOR BREAKFAST WITH HIM ON SUNDAY, SO DIDN'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FREE BREAKFAST. AS LONG AS THE ROOM WAS CLEAN, WE DIDN'T CARE ANY ANYTHING ELSE BUT TO SEE OUR SOLDIER.

    The heating/AC was very noisy and kept cutting on and off from other rooms, which made it hard to sleep. The walls were thin, and the people next door woke up early and were obnoxiously loud.

    The rooms need a major update. Everything was plugged in surge protectors. The tall lamp was behind the chair but couldn’t be plugged in. The fridge did not get cold and smelled old. The clock was on the floor under the nightstand . The tv is small. The beds were uncomfortable. There was an extremely strong smell of febreeze like they were trying to hide a smell. Not the best but not the worst place to stay

    The hotel room has no carpet. Just a fake laminate floor, which was filthy. Room hadn’t been mopped ever. I didn’t even bother to take my socks off. Bed was uncomfortable and smelled like the B.O. of the last people that stayed there. Sheets weren’t even clean.

    Room was slightly updated and clean. Water pressure in the shower was low. Air conditioning in room worked but couldn’t keep the room cool. There were times when there was no one at the front desk, but I needed help with my TV and my call was answered and a very nice woman helped me with it.

    After 5 minutes, we checked out, got a refund and found a different hotel. Our room was disgusting and dirty. There were dead bugs, spiders and roaches on the floor. Hair and stains on the sheets. The floor was not clean.

    One of the best Red Roofs I've stayed at in a while. Not much in the area for food/shopping/entertainment etc, however it's only a short easy drive to find. Staff was very kind. Rooms were updated and clean. Bed was a little uncomfortable and noisy but there's really no bed as comfortable as your own. The hotel was very clean and smelled clean as well. We will definitely stay here again.

    First night no washcloths in room. Second day housekeeping did not show up had to go to the front desk and ask for more towels and washcloths. So our room had not been cleaned actually had to take the front desk clerk to the room and show her. Hard to get in room as the safety latch inside the room keep catching on the door.
