Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location and friendly staff, but criticized for its small room size and lack of soundproofing. Some guests also experienced issues with heating, hot water, and hidden fees.

Wonderful stay, staff was super helpful and property was clean and well situated.

Cool hotel, great coffee shops and restaurants. Compact but comfortable rooms
- 2/5
Fire alarm went off because kitchen staff burned stuff. While walking down 6 flights of stairs (both going up and down) stairs were blocked by kitchen workers holding huge trays or just sitting on the stairs looking at their phones. During fire alarm there was no staff in the lobby organizing or instructing guests. Shades in minuscule rooms were totally inadequate and everyone in our group woke up early because of the sun glare. After taxes and fees I spent close to 2K for two rooms for two nights. Walker Hotels - never again.

One suggestion would be at night to have key access to the hotel or security at the door, anyone can walk in. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed here because I wanted to be near Tribeca. This hotel is trying hard. The staff were good. Internal restaurant and cafe good, nice lobby area with couches which is well used by guests and nice vibe. Close to subway / easy access uptown. While it's near lovely Tribeca, the location is a problem so close to Canal st. Lots of hawkers on the street to fight through daily and generally scuzzy block and felt a bit unsafe later at night, sad and confronting to navigate homeless people lying on the street. Rooms are basic no fridge, kettle etc. so avoid for longer stays. So while the hotel itself is well run and good inside, this made me question my hotel choice for a week long stay.

The room was very nice and so was the atmosphere of the whole hotel. We got a a $15 daily credit and a free bottle of wine for booking through Expedia. The staff were so nice and friendly. The rooms next to us were both having very loud construction happening all days we were there. with almost constant banging on the walls until about 7pm. The front desk gave us 50% off one night which was nice but I wish they would have notified us before we unpacked everything. We didn’t try the restaurant but the rooftop was great with good drinks and great views. The workers at blue bottle cafe were rude. Not sure if they were part of the hotel or not. Overall 7.5/10 would stay again to give another shot.
- 5/5
Brilliant location for downtown financial district and walking to West Village even, just off Broadway and Canal with Subway outside the door. Beds were super comfy and even though the room is tight it's very well designed to conceal ones suitcases with massive storage under the bed. Gym was pathetic.

The staff were extremely accommodating, the lobby was comfy and equipped with a cute and convenient cafe. The location on Walker St. in Tribeca couldn't be better. Rooms had great sound insulation and I barely heard any typical loud NYC street noise or neighboring rooms. The room was laughably small. Like so small I could barely open my suitcase on the floor. The pictures on Booking were rather deceiving...Also the amenities needed a tune up like the unsecured faucet on the sink. Otherwise the bathroom was weirdly spacious and shower was great.

The reception staff was okay, We knew the room was small but when we got there, we realized it’s smaller than we expected, we barely could walk inside the room. The Wi-Fi never worked, even though we call reception for assistance, they ended up giving us the Staff Wi-Fi which would work sometimes. The reservation mentioned a free bottle of wine but it wasn’t given until I called AGAIN to the reception. Next day we went down for coffee, the lady was extremely rude, we said good morning and stood in front of her for a minute or two, she looked straight to me and didn’t say a word, it was very uncomfortable. The mattress was very good and the room was kept clean. Overall experience was below expectations for the amount of money we spent on this hotel, I’ve definitely stayed in better hotels in New York for less money. If you ask me, it’s not worth it.

The bed was sooo comfortable and the room was clean and well kept with upgraded amenities. The rooftop was exceptional with an amazing view and vibe. The lobby and check in was easy with helpful and friendly staff. The room was very very small despite it being clean, and modern. For two people, it was tough for even just two nights. The only option was laying in bed, or leaving. If staying, do not bring anything larger than a carry on size bag. The location was good, but very close to the chaos of canal street… not in the cleanest part of Tribeca. It really felt more like China town than Tribeca.

Had a corner room on the fifth floor so there was some noise bleeding from the street. The rooms are small but there but the beds are very comfortable so great if you’re just using the room to sleep. Nelson and the rest of the staff were helpful and frrbutnye was absolutely great.

Hip, fun, Tribeca hotel. The staff was excellent. The rooms are small but cozy and we had a great view. Location was close to many fun locations. And there are a variety of food options. We'd stay there again.

Liked that there was a coffee bar and a blue bottle coffee in the main lobby. The room is very expensive for what you get. and we were told that of the $200 security deposit, we will only get $120 back because the hotel keeps an $80 resort fee. this was clearly not a resort and there was no mention of the fee when we booked it. It was very noisy. rooms are not properly insulated for sound. the rooms are extremely small. bed was tucked into 3 walls with access available only on one side of the bed. very challenging for a couple. the shower door was falling apart. the shower handheld was positioned way too low. would have been good for a person that was 4 ft tall, not 6 ft tall. The shampoo, conditioner and soap were tucked into a shower niche and were not easily usable. someone need to try out their rooms before they rent them out.

Not much Monumental rip off. Bed was broken. No one turned down the room. Bathroom was impossibly small. Room had very little privacy nor any room for the furniture that had been crammed into it. Blinds let in so much light. Thoroughly unsatisfactory.

Location. Lobby with coffee shops. Speak easy bar in the basement - Saint Tuesday. TV in room easy to navigate. Room was very small / cramped. So much so, that the basin has to be located in the room itself, not the bar room. Choice of furnishings given the lack of space was poor - big chair which there was no room for and stupid metal 4-poster on the bed, which added to the cramped feel.

Clean hotel, bed is comfortable
- 3/5
Important to know / criticisms: -- The room has no coffee machine nor a fridge. -- The elevators do not require you room key to get to your floor, which I personally do not like, as it means any one can enter the building and get to a floor. -- Reception/check-in is on a lower floor and if you have heavy bags, you have to hope there is someone there to assist. I had to intervene and help an older lady carry her bags down the stairs. -- If you want to get to the elevators from the main entrance, you have to walk up stairs to get to the cafe and lounge, again not an issue generally but when you are carrying bags in or out, it can be an issue for some -- As noted above, this means the building clearly has accessibility issues that need to be addressed to ensure it accomodates everyone -- No room service

Accomodating late check in, like 330AM late. Stumbled in and was still able to figure out the temp control and how to shut the blinds. Threw up in both the shower and sink morning after. Tipped maid staff. Great $15 breakfast credit, managed to keep down the OJ and espresso in uber to penn. Would stay again.

Nothing, really. A $700-a-night sweatbox with broken lights, no fridge, no coffee, a door that won’t close, and a fan instead of air conditioning—this dump makes “cozy king” sound like a cruel joke, and I’ll never stay here again.

Location was very nice, not far from the action but not right in it. 2 blocks from Soho and just a small metro ride from the rest of the city. Hotel is clean staff is nice, but the beds are on the small side. Rooms get cleaned every day which is a major plus. Beds could be a bit bigger but not a must. Where some cozy nights with my wife haha.

Location, location, location One of two elevators out of order. Extremely tiny room. On Saturday morning, I could not sit in the hotel lobby and have my coffee because the entire floor space was taken by a yoga class. In the hotel lobby! I don’t think all of the guests should be deprived of the use of the lobby because of a yoga class. No coffee maker or fridge in room.

overall, the location and accommodations were convenient and gave access to the city easily. Having an EXCELLENT restaurant and cafe/ plus Blue Bottle for coffee = great. Staff = Young, hip, friendly responsive. Facts - confusing wall-screen touch-system for in-room heating / temp control. Would be helpful to have some guidance at the time of check-in. A second elevator was not working which meant that, at many times it was a long wait or we took the (awkward) stairs; signage on the main floor indicated that the '2nd elevator' problem would momentarily be fixed, but it was not fixed for an entire week.

The moment I walked in I was immediately greeted by someone who helped me carry bags downstairs to the front desk who were also very courteous and helpful. Although my room was tiny, it was perfect for one night. The room was clean, with modern furnishes and nice view of the city. Only issue is the sliding door in the bathroom without a lock and doesn't seal shut with gap remaining. There's a nice speakeasy downstairs, a rooftop bar and an Argentinian restaurant and small bakery which was a very nice surprise since I love anything with Dulce de Leche!

Terrible stay. Put in wrong room first night. Air conditioner didn’t work next two nights. Moved rooms in the middle of the night second night because of heat. Lights didn’t work correctly. Card key reader didn’t work correctly. Room extraordinarily small even by NYC standards. Advertised as elite boutique hotel and it was anything but. The bellman Nelson was the only bright spot.

Staff and check in was good although I don’t think there is a bellman or doorman. Restaurant, rooftop and coffee shop were good. Rooms need work, mechanical issues and stucco makes them look cheap. Beds are very comfortable

Every hot w out room service should at least have a coffee maker and snacks. If you aren’t going to deliver food to rooms, there must be some amenity.

I loved the vibe of this hotel. Fun, lively, and coffee/breakfast on site with a cute Jazz speakeasy underneath (so fun!)

In terms of service, the workers were nice but it took my friend 6 different times across 48 hours to get a bath robe. They kept saying they would bring it but never did and one staff member even wrote our room number in front of us when we asked and it never showed up. It took a frustrated, late night call for them to finally bring one up 5 minutes later.

Small rooms typical of nyc, and street noise . . . Also typical. Stay as high up as you can. Roof top bar super cute in summer

The lobby area is great and there are good food options. The rooms are so so unacceptably small, even as someone who travels to New York often. Pay close attention before booking

Only cons ngl was the restaurant and general area around the hotel. The food was overpriced and limited choices on the menu. Other than that i enjoyed my stay very much. I would definetly stay here again in the future

Room itself was ok, it was small but that was expected. I found hair everywhere that wasn’t mine which was not great. Considering the room faced Walker Street, it wasn’t the quietest during the day or evening but was surprisingly quiet at night. Not sure if I would go back.

Average hotel. Better for younger people. Rooms were clean and tiny, but it’s NYC. Area is a bit rough as it’s right on Canal which is sketchy and dirty. Easy access to subway. Rooftop bar close at 8pm on a Sunday- why? Don’t think I’ll stay here again.

The people here are wonderful to a person. The location is great. The rooms, while very small, are clean. The value is great. The problem is if you need wifi to work, this is not your place. Very weak and intermittent throughout the home. The fact that one elevator didn't work also meant long waits to get up and down. If they fix the wifi and elevators, I would go back. Otherwise great if your are on vacation and are in a zen mood about waiting for an elevator.

We had a lovely stay at the Walker Hotel. We felt it was a great value. For us, it was conveniently located, very clean, comfortable, and had friendly / helpful staff. The cafe was also convenient, July in NYC is hot and it was nice having cold drinks available. We felt very welcomed and would love to go back sometime.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel. Great location. Very cool rooftop bar, and amazing coffee downstairs. Will definitely look to stay there again!
- 5/5
Great! We’ll be back

Small and efficient rooms. Could do with a little more room this level of room! The lobby offerings are amazing and neighborhood has a vibe!
- 3/5
The rooms were way to small

Very convenient location. Nice inside. Very friendly staff. Very clean and nice cafe.
- 5/5
It was nice and cozy

Rooms are very small with a tall bed. Had to hop up on it. Chair was old and uncomfortable
- 5/5
I love staying at the Walker. Convenient and clean and a very nice vibe with a rooftop deck
- 5/5
Good hotel with a nice lounge (connected inside to a blue bottle coffee shop) it had a good restaurant for brunch (mostrador) and good service. The rooms are on the small side but very well arranged and of very good quality. The location is good (Tribeca, near canal subway close to Soho)
- 4/5
Was a nice place, roof top bar very small area and some mold like in the shower
- 5/5
Classy old World vibe.
- 5/5
Love the people who work here! They make every stay so wonderful!
- 4/5
This is a fine hotel. Lobby is lively and comfortable. Blue Bottle coffee is adjacent to the lobby. The rooms are small, but well appointed and enough space for clothes and toiletries. Not sure if i would want to stay with another person. We would bump into one another. I enjoyed my stay and everyone is very friendly.
- 4/5
Small room but efficient. Wonderful bed and linens
- 5/5
The staff is great. Always pleasant and very attentive. The only con to this hotel was that the rooms are extremely small. Other than that everything else was amazing.
- 1/5
Staff is ghetto and not refined.
- 2/5
It was a very small room. I was supposed to get a bottle of wine because I booked through Expedia. They never gave me the wine.
- 4/5
The room was small and it wasn’t possible to walk around either side of the bed. That must be why we can’t see the room in full in the photos. We had to climb into the bed every night from the end of the bed as the mattress was on a riser - it was very weird. The rooms are also noisy as the window glazing doesn’t keep much out. I know it’s New York but I haven’t had this issue in other hotels where I’ve stayed in the city. Setting the room to one side, the rest of the hotel is great - especially the staff in the restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning. The bar and the rooftop are wonderful and the location is very convenient.
- 3/5
Was the noisiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Garbage pickup at 5 am on the street right outside. Would never stay there again.
- 5/5
Nice vibe
- 5/5
Great hotel ar an amzing centric location.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Very comfortable bed. Really cool speakeasy bar
- 5/5
I went for my anniversary amazing service overall a great spot
- 3/5
I stayed here for one night. It was incredibly crowded and the lobby space could not handle that type of capacity. The concierge seemed incredibly stressed out and, thus, not very hospitable or welcoming. It was not a great experience other than the location, dining and bar offerings, and room cleanliness which were top tier
- 3/5
Pricy for the limited amenities. Air conditioning was controlled by the hotel which is very odd. Won’t stay here again.
- 4/5
Great location and lobby and vibe. Nice shower too. Sucks roof was never open and sink wasn’t the best at draining. But it was a cool place to stay
- 5/5
Great stay, friendly staff!
- 5/5
Amazing service from the moment I stepped through the door. Every single staff I interacted with during my stay was super friendly, attentive and welcoming. Room was of high standard, clean and has everything you need. Can’t think of one thing which would be rated as below excellent!
- 2/5
Nice desk staff but my experience was marred when the day after checking in cleaners removed all items from my counter while I was away including phone charger, toiletry bag, spare room key. This would’ve been more concerning if I had other important things on the counter. Front desk tried to address the issue which was appreciated but never had the issue resolved.

The AC was not working…
- 5/5
Staff was so accommodating. Rooms well appointed and quiet. Prime location.
- 3/5
Ordinarily, top notch property. I stay at this location often. Room was surprisingly in poor condition: hole under cracked flooring in small entrance, mirror light did not work and internal phone - for front desk was not working. Claimed they could not adjust price of room because it was booked prepaid through Expedia. This was over $350.
- 5/5
Hospitality is top notch
- 5/5
Great location and service. Loved it and would visit again.
- 5/5
As always a great stay at the Walker! Highly recommend

If you are noise sensitive, avoid this hotel. I love this hotel. Loved the room, design and location. Love the speakeasy in the basement. But this was the loudest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The noise from the street was so loud that even with earplugs I was up the entire night. For some reason the noise comes through the large window so clearly- it doesn’t dampen the sound at all. I loved so many elements of this hotel, but I wish I’d known about the noise. I’ve stayed in many hotels in NYC and never had an issue like this before.
- 5/5
I very much liked the look of the hotel. The staff was very friendly. I also enjoyed the cafe connected to it it was amazing.
- 4/5
Reliably good place to stay - rooms are a little beat up and it can be loud from the street. But an overall good stay for NYC
- 5/5
Great location for my wife’s company visit and love the shopping in SoHo. The Staff, restaurant and Speak Easy were all FABULOUS !!!!
- 5/5
Excellent location, clean and stylish room, cool bar/restaurant, great coffee shop, and fun speakeasy with live music. Strongly recommend.
- 4/5
The rooms are super small , location great, all the staff is wonderful, but would not stay be cause of room size.
- 3/5
Hotel was in a great location snd nice enough but the noise level caused a few sleepless nights. Not sure the staff could have done anything but the non stop construction noise outside my window was brutal.
- 4/5
Overall my stay was great, the only thing is that the bed was short. I'm not super tall, 5'9, and the bed wasn't long enough for me.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Clean and great location. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel for staying in the Tribeca area.
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 3/5
The stay was perfectly lovely, and the staff were quite friendly. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was how small the rooms were. My king size room was absolutely microscopic.
- 4/5
Super cute for a boutique hotel
- 3/5
I loved the location. My specific room was small but good for a single person.
- 2/5
The room was very dirty and I took them two days until the resolved it
- 4/5
The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The room was a little small but very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Loved the bed next to the window. Would stay here again next time I'm in town for business.

Excellent, super friendly staff. The property is great shape. Small room like all NYC hotel rooms, but a very good view of mditown and the room was very comfortable. I will stay here again.
- 3/5
Nice area, hotel room was very small for 2 people with 3 luggage.
- 4/5
Hotel is nice and room is very modern & clean. The only downside which I didn’t realize until after we left was we didn’t receive our complimentary wine. Would’ve been nice to have after a night out but other than that our stay was great.
- 4/5
The Walker is a great place to stay. The bar and restaurant are great options. The hotel location is perfect close to dining options and shopping.

Room so small couldn’t fit bags
