    Elevator was broken such that only one elevator was working at certain times. No warning, no credit, nothing to say “sorry.” The elevator they did have was creaky and seemed like it needed repairs too.

    Great location in Williamsburg close to dining and shopping. Great city views. Excellent onsite restaurant and bar. Comfortable room. Beautiful pool. Accommodating staff who helped me celebrate a milestone birthday. Only one elevator working for guests. Some of the lights in my room did not work.

    Im in a charitable mood and 1 restaurant staff member excellent (Daniel? Guy working as host 1st thing in the morning on weekend) so gave it 2 stars. When we checked in the clerk didn't know anything about the Hotels.com amenity which I received last time at same hotel and which hotels.com emailed me about after check in. Got there 3:58 and was told room "would take 15 minutes since it's not guaranteed until 4:00." After a while another clerk helped get us a room. Property has 4 elevators. 1 not working, 2 for exclusive use of Club on top floor and only 1 elevator for guests which i also used by the club. So extremely long wait times and the only way to get down from room floor (as elevator full of club guests) is to ride elevator all the way up to top then back down. Took us from 5 minutes to 15+ just to get down from our room to lobby. Told staff who said club attendees shouldn't be using it but I pointed out they are. They gave an "oh well" look. Ordered a very simple, 2 ingredient popular Italian drink a hotel restaurant 3 times. They managed to get it wrong every single time and 2 of the 3 times took forever to get it right - 2nd time literally did not get a drink until we were done eating. Bright spot was host who opened the restaurant Sat and Sun for breakfast. Saved a 2 star rating from being 1. Hotel is just too expensive to be this bad.

    Further when I questioned the early check in fee on my bill ( which I wasn’t told off on check in or check out ( mind you I also checked out at 4am) I was lied too that I was given entry to a room approx 1 hour before I actually was ( I have the text message confirmation inviting me to check front desk for a room). After formally querying this and raising my concerns I never received the courtesy of a reply. Also- as an Expedia customer a wine gift was due- which was never delivered despite housekeeping asking me if it had been delivered. Rooms are misleadingly small and inconsistent housekeeping. The only positive is the food and service at the restaurant for dinner. I would not stay again, and would not recommend: this is certainly not a 5 star experience and not one worthy of the price point. Explore other options before booking this!

    The William Vale has excellent views. We loved having a patio. We had nice weather and used the pool, we had drinks by the pool and the staff was very nice. There was a big convention while we stayed and some of the restaurants were not open to dine in, we changed our plans and ate elsewhere. Also only one elevator was working and this caused some delays. I would still recommend someone to this property assuming the few flaws we ran into would be resolved. For some reason the faucet in our room was extremely hard to use. I had to use a wash cloth to turn the water on. I did like that they had some shelving in bathroom , because there is very little counter space, hard to use when doing hair and makeup if you like to spread out. We did have cigarette buds on our balcony, they were there for 3 days and I think should have been swept up by house keeping.

    Balcony was great, bathroom floors were great Valet parking had me waiting... what? 30 minutes¡¡¡. yes the guy was so rude, i was late due to this to my apointment. reception: they sold my room, but they upgraded it so 11/10.. elevator guy, he thought that im just a random NPC going to the rooftop... wrong, made me look like i dont deserve my own room. Argentinean Bartender. (Can I get a Dirty Martiny?) .....NO. im not making anithing for you.... O.O¡ WTF.... is my money worth anything?.... Mexican bartender sees the attitude of the other guy, he inmediately offers me my drink, i gave him 30$ tip. Morning breakfast, girl at the restaurant downstairs.... barely asking if i need water or silverwear WTF¡¡¡¡. what kind of people do you hire to take care of your costumers? DO I NEED A SUIT AND TIE TO GET ANY SERVICE AT YOUR HOTEL? whats the problem with your personal.... i Is it because im brown?, terrible experience....

    Beautiful hotel, amazing front of house staff, walkable to all in Williamsburg. Great bar and restaurant on site and plenty to do in the hotel or neighborhood. Highly recommend!

    The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. Very nice to have personable people on arrival and throughout the stay. The room we were given was great, we had a view toward the Brooklyn Bridge. The balcony was nice to have, but it was still a bit chilly when we visited so didn't have a chance to enjoy sitting out on it. The carpet in the hallways was a bit old and made it difficult to roll luggage through.

    Our reservation was cancelled the day we were supposed to to check in. We drove all the way from Maine to Brooklyn for a much anticipated trip. It was very upsetting to arrive to NYC and find out we had no place to stay, even though i had made the reservation 2 months in advance. Totally unacceptable.

It’s so far from 5 star hotel. They need a lesson in what true European 5 star hotels are like.

Very safe area I felt comfortable walking around by myself. (I’m a 71yo female)The valet parked my car, and it never moved until we left. Everything you need is walking distance. I would not hesitate to stay here again. A fridge for personal drinks, etc would be nice. Or at least have it available.

    The hotel is walking distance from some good restaurants and coffee shops. The subway is also close by if you want to take the L line into Manhattan. I would definitely stay here again!

    Nice hotel. Nice rooms. Toilet is basically in the same room as the bedroom. WiFi was very poor - kept dropping out. Very overpriced. Booked a twin suite ($700 per night), arrived to find a double. Went downstairs & receptionist said i had to make a sofa bed, to which I replied “$700 a night, we don’t get 2 proper beds and I have to make the sofa bed”. She replied “I don’t set the prices”. Also, the elevators need earthed. Everyone was getting static shocks from the buttons

    Beautiful hotel, perfectly located for our weekend stay. Westlight is an incredible rooftop bar. The only complaint is that we could hear ambient music throughout the night from the outdoor speakers and even on the 12th floor we could always hear it. But it didn’t really detract from our stay and we would still return.

    If you are thinking of staying in Williamsburg, then you won’t go wrong here. Comfiest bed in Brooklyn. Terrific views of Manhattan if you get a room facing that direction. Clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Only downside is its a longer walk to a station but it’s an easy one and great food options.

I told them the morning and that I’d be out of the room all day but it wasn’t fixed when I got back. A little disappointed. The person who finally fixed it did a good job. Westlight. Fantastic views and nice sears. The hostess was really nice as was one of our bartenders. But the other guy host and the waiter the second night were just absolutely not into it. Fitness center was high quality although a little compact. Amazing views. Will stay again.

    Centrally located in Williamsburg. Easy check in and out. We stayed during a streak of cold weather, but it was made much worse due to the fact that our room heat did not work. It was 60 degrees most of our time there, despite the heater showing it was on.

    Room view, visually room was fine Hotel had minimal check in check out flexibility Front desk rules didn’t align with pool rules Ended up going to bathhouse down the street due to the hotel not letting us by the pool the day we departed. Cleaning people never came when requested had To request 3 times in one day. Room service as well as everything else was extremely late. Broken elevators. They are more concerned with getting people up to the club upstairs. Overall they just don’t really want you there just want you to pay.

    Room was clean and the balcony was great. The Front desk was friendly, responsive and courteous and concierge was extremely helpful and took time answering questions and printing directions. However, what impressed us the most was how Tien and he colleagues at the front desk and security found and held my daughter's all-important headphone - after we failed to do so during check out. They had packaged, taped, labeled, recorded and stored the lost/found item very professionally. It proved the hotel has an established customer-care process beyond providing food and clean rooms. My daughter expressed how grateful she was to the hotel staff.

    This is a solid hotel with a wonderful location and friendly staff. The bed is very comfortable but the rest of the room’s furniture and fixtures are in serious need of an upgrade and maintenance. None of the curtains worked and the cabinets were downright shabby. The view almost makes up for it but management should definitely invest in some updates. We will stay again just for the location and nice people though.

    We go to Brooklyn several times a year and this hotel has been on our list for quite a while. We really, really wanted to love it but it was underwhelming, bordering on disappointing. Stayed for 3 nights in a VIP access room thru Expedia (not sure what that got us tbh). On the plus side...safe, walkable location. We didn't eat in the hotel, but the restaurants looked very nice! The room was clean and a great size. We had a nice balcony with a small table & chairs, and a great view (maybe that was the VIP part?). On the down side...First day, no hand soap. Second day, no coffee pods. Both days, housekeeping did not clean the room until almost 4:00. We left the room early each morning and headed back late in the afternoon to relax before getting ready for evening events. It's so disappointing to open that door and find your room has not yet been cleaned and you do not have towels! We ended up sitting in the lobby waiting it out which made us late both evenings. At our request, the front desk staff intervened on the second day, but for the cost of the hotel, we should not have had to ask for the room to be cleaned. One other thing to note - there's a rooftop bar across the street and it's loud at night! Overall, we wanted this to be our "go-to" hotel, but we'll keep looking.

    The efforts of excellence & lux is clearly their goal. Quality in design, bed & room amenities… But, Unfortunately our room was not cleaned two times even with the clean room notice indicated. Returning to our room late night to NOT have a clean towel to wash up with, a clean cup to drink from & untidy room is frustrating & unexceptionable. We had to dispose of trash, dirty dishes & dirty linens to the hallway ourselves & repeatedly request basic room supplies. A hotel at this level & cost needs to have excellent tidiness & follow up with check points. It is not a pleasure to have to police the housekeeping & staff. It was extremely disappointing to stay in this hotel to find we could not lounge & enjoy the sauna & pool area as this is why I chose this hotel. The pool area closed for 2 months. We paid a premium but less amenities that are advertised. This changed our intended vacation drastically. If the hotel was to close the pool & sauna, the guests should receive discount rates as we are not able to enjoy these heavily advertised lux amenities. I would have chosen another hotel. All other hotels in the area had their pools open. I expressed these detailed disappointments to the staff each time we had to frustratedly request simple things. No gestures of any extra courtesy was ever offered. Overall, great rooms, restaurants, bars & views. it’s a shame to have this experience in this nice hotel.

    It felt like a scam... amenity fees but only so many chairs are available without having to pay, so what is the amenity fee for if you don't get to use the amenities? An upcharge to check into your room early, despite it being available. Rude and helpless staff, freezing pool etc. I've been to a lot of nice hotels and never have I experienced such tactless and shameless behavior/policies.

    I went on a staycation (LI to Brooklyn) and decided to stay here, mainly because they offered balconies with each room at no additional cost. While it’s on the pricier end, I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is beautiful, I felt like I was away on a resort, despite the construction going on outside (regular NY). The food at Westlight was better than expected. I love that guests get to reserve a chair at the pool for free, although a discounted cabana or chaise would be nice as well. I booked parking through an outside app because $50/day is a little steep. Anyway, I would stay here again.

    Excellent location, comfy bed and great views. Extra fees for many amenities. Called ahead for birthday decor which was forgotten but they brought it when I requested again after the fact. Did not receive extra robe/towels after request. Room wasn't cleaned on 2nd day of stay. Overall good experience just little things you'd expect to be taken care of when paying a premium to stay here.

    This hotel is amazing. I’ve stayed at a lot, a lot, of hotels, and this is by far one of the best. The room was clean and set up well. Had an amazing balcony with a beautiful view. The bathroom was clean and very nice. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The property is large and has restaurants, a pool, and very good location to things. I would definitely stay here again.

    Lots of noise from a rooftop party on Saturday night until at least midnight. Guess that’s NY for you. It even our son who lives here said that’s unusual. Not the hotel’s fault of course.

    I've stayed at the William Vale more than 30 nights over the past few years - I've noticed that recent stays have gotten worse and worse in terms of cleanliness (the room I initially checked into had visibly dirty sheets and bedding from the previous guest) and overall condition of the rooms. There are visible layers of dirt and dust on surfaces and and every surface is dented, scratched, or dinged. The staff really could not be better but housekeeping leaves too much to be desired for me to continue to stay.

    Outstanding from the minute I booked to checkout. I'm a local and only stay at the William Vale on special occasions, and for this year's birthday, they went above and beyond. I felt so well looked after and enjoyed the room, the high floor balcony, the views, the pool, Westlight, the drinks, the decor, the ambience, the bottle of wine upon my arrival, everything was just wonderful.

    The William Vale is just a fabulous place to stay in Williamsburg. Great location, wonderful pool, fantastic views and balconies, great coffee on the first floor cafe and super friendly people. Oh, and the room was just lovely too! I will be back!

    Love the hip trendy area. Love the view. Love the bed. The staff was ok. The elevators was scary. The limited access to the pool and roof top traveling with my teenage was an inconvenient. They get a 7 out 10.

    Many of the workers seemed bored. I realize it was July 4 and they were busy, but no one offered to help with the bags seven phone calls to a voicemail. TV stopped working after dinner. Nice room, beautiful view, but the lack of attention would keep me from recommending the hotel.

    Hotel is cool, and restaurants, rooftop all great. Rooms are a bit small but have views and balcony is a big plus. Housekeeping was great and rooms were very clean. Only complain is that Front Desk & Concierge need to answer phones from room guests. Otherwise excellent

    Some of the staff members are great. The guys who work at valet parking and carry your bags to your room are friendly and efficient . However, rest of the staff lacks proper training. Check- in was a mess and took longer than necessary . Room was not well cleaned, hairs in closet drawers. Only two elevators which are extremely busy ,so long wait for elevator. Noisy with continuous music in weekends .

    Absolutely loved our stay. Our room was decent size and clean. The room needed some touch ups with paint and lock being broken on door. Service was Absolutely wonderful here. Our favorite part was the pool. So clean and Isabella and Brian took such good care of us, they were friendly and attentive. Our check in and check out was seamless. We will 100% be back to do a longer stay as this is my new favorite hotel in NY.

    Lived up to my expectations. The views were incredible, the room as cozy, and the staff was super friendly. Both of the restaurants I visited were also great. I was able to walk to several restaurants and bodegas and there was easy access to the subway. I would absolutely stay here again.

    It has a beautiful property, helpful staff, and incredible views. The only issue is that we came between seasons so the pool was closed as were the outdoor saunas so no outdoor benefit but allowed us more time to explore the neighborhood.

    The hotel was beautiful was in a very popular area so there was lots to do in the surrounding area of the hotel. The delight was so nice cute. This is a perfect hotel for a cute couples weekend or girls retreat. It just is very expensive and you don’t feel as though you get bang for your buck since you don’t have free access to the sauna on the roof and the shower was not cleaned thoroughly. The VIP amenity seemed to be nice when they provided a small bottle of wine. The staff was nice the view was nice. The balcony was such a great touch along with the robes and slippers. It just felt like everything had an expense which took away from the experience feeling hospitable and accommodating.

    I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room upon our arrival. The floor had crumbs, and there were clothing tags left on the couch. The most concerning part was opening the toilet to find dirty tissue left behind, which was unacceptable. I had been looking forward to staying at the hotel, but this experience completely changed my impression. While the staff were very kind and did their best to assist, the situation left us feeling uncomfortable, especially since there were no other available rooms. Unfortunately, we decided to leave the hotel altogether.

    I flew my Husband out for his birthday, paid for the works, balloons, champagne, chocolate roses. The balloons were a waste of money $300. The chocolate wasn’t as expected. It was a miniature box of chocolates. Just a total waste of my money. The living room furniture was outdated hard to sit on, very uncomfortable. The living room was super small and had no room to walk around. The front desk lady was rude and condescending. We will not be coming back to stay!
