Reviews
The hotel's location is praised by many guests, but the rooms are consistently described as old, dirty, and in need of renovation. The service is generally good, but there are some complaints about unhelpful staff and long waits at check-in.

- Long waits at check-in and unhelpful staff

BEWARE READ THE REVIEWS!!! Scroll through ALL the pics. The pics posted are not the actual pics of the room. Beds are full size, room is very small. Out dated with water damage throughout the bathroom probably because there is no ventilation. Elevator light was broken. Other guests were also catfished by photos. The card had to be reprogrammed twice. If booking through a 3rd party site the is an additional $250 fee when you check in.

Room was clean, good view halfway up the building. Grab and go breakfast was handy. Ideal location. Air conditioning was okay.

El hotel está cerca de Times Square y es de fácil acceso pero es muy viejo y huele mal todo el día.

Service staff was excellent. Location is excellent. Highly Recommend.

We were told that we had a standard room 1009 I reserved it through Expedia and I was told at the front desk upon arrival that because I reserved it on the third party platform I was not eligible for the upgrade, which was for the rooms that were not being renovated, which were the modern rooms 17 and above Our room 1009 was dirty bed lumpy very uncomfortable. The air conditioning was on blast and he deafening noise. Went back downstairs and told them this room is unacceptable to us. They told us that they can upgrade us to a room for $600 a night we declined and they said because it was reserved through third-party meeting you Expedia they could not help us. They did have a repairman come out and try to fix the loud blasting noise from the air conditioner and they said it was the pump and they would put it in for a work order the next day. We never heard anything since it was 92° in the city for three days we were there no air air-conditioning. The TV didn’t work. The beds were old and uncomfortable We had to pay an extra $150 for hotel expenses upon discharge. I asked them what they were and they said it was use of the Internet, which we could not get the TV to work o… and it was for the health club which there wasn’t any because they were under construction this place is terrible DO NOT GO HERE

Even though I called before making reservations and got re-assured they had a pool and it would be operational the boys couldn't swim due to maintenance. The room was spacious with a decent view and pretty clean except for the bathroom! The shower and toilet was absolutely disgusting! Sasquatch must've been the previous guest judging by the smell and amount of pubes in the floor and around the drain and rim of the toilet! The toilet was also plugged and wouldn't flush. The TV remote was broken along with the AC. When I picked up the phone to call the front desk, you guessed it. Broken!! When I inquired about possibly getting a room with working appliances and entertainment I was informed I'd already received an upgrade from my previous room and was told there weren't anymore rooms available! To end this long story. When it's costing
- 2/5
We picked this for the great location and seemingly decent rooms. Will absolutely pick a different hotel next time.
- 5/5
It was amazing! I loved my stay!
- 4/5
Breakfast was good
- 3/5
This hotel is being modernized/refreshed as a Crowne Plaza. However, the hallways and rooms are many years overdue to be refreshed. Furniture is pretty skinned up, carpet it worn, bathtub has scratches, etc. The location is great and the price isn't bad considering what the same rooms would cost of they were up to current standards.
- 3/5
Was not happy when we got into our room as I booked for 2 double beds and had only one bed. I was able to change rooms the next day but we had to pack up and check out and wait until after 4 pm to check back in again. It is very dated. They are renovating so you have to be sure and get an updated room with no mildew in the bathroom. It is very close to a lot of the excursions we wanted to see and the Hop on, Hop off bus. The windows were very dirty so I tried to clean a small area so we could see clearly. All in all it was a fair hotel to stay in.
- 5/5
Hotel under renovation app don’t show up, just at the moment the checking in the reception, we don’t see any effect Saturday to Sunday but is more better if the information go right in advance to the costumer. We understand at the moment the make reservations. Avoid surprises!! Suggestions.
- 2/5
Took about 20 minutes waiting in a short line to check in. Seemed to have some booking issues to resolve for some guests that were clearly not too happy.
- 4/5
My favorite part of this hotel was how convenient it was to everything. My view was amazing in my room. AC wasn’t at its best but I survived.
- 5/5
Like location close to time square and other places. Did not like breakfast was grab and go cold bagels or pastry. Nothing hot was available.
- 4/5
The staff was great with me I stayed 10days for a work trip
- 3/5
Excellent location, nice lobby but horrible rooms. Lack of paint, maintenance, old rooms and dirty carpets. We spent 4 nights and the hotel charged us $200.00 hotel fee ( they said that is an internal fee that ea ho hotel imposed in Manhattan)
- 5/5
The first room I was in was a little bit outdated but they accommodated me with no charge to a higher floor and the room was amazing.
- 1/5
The place was filthy. Paint was peeling from the ceiling. We did not have the ability to cut off the AC which was on full blast and the room was freezing. Maintanance didn’t know how to cut it off. When I requested 2 blankets only one was provided. I was extremely unhappy with this hotel.
- 4/5
We had to check in early on the day we arrived and the room wasn’t what we expected. We stayed there before in 2022 and the room was way better.
- 3/5
While the hotel's location is excellent and convenient, our stay was quite disappointing overall. The Room: Although it was clean, the carpet was an absolute disaster and desperately needs to be replaced or deeply clean. The Staff: The customer service was lacking. One lady in particular was incredibly antipathetic and dismissive. It honestly felt as though helping guests was a painful chore for her. The Breakfast: We skipped the breakfast entirely. It’s just a basic "to-go" option, and the quality of the offer is definitely not worth it. I wouldn't recommend this option if you are looking for comfortable amenities and welcoming. But the location it’s the best.
- 4/5
Room was clean, the hotel staff are very friendly and attendant. My only concerns is that the conditions of the room hotel are not that expected, specially in the high floor.
- 2/5
Maid service was good.

- 4/5
Breakfast is not up to 4 star hotel. this option shall be eliminated or become much better than it's now.
- 5/5
No Airport Shuttle service and No Breakfast was included
- 3/5
Older hotel, the bathrooms have not been updated. The bedrooms are run down. Mattress was just ok. Sheets were clean and cleaning staff were wonderful. Had a good price for staying there. Good location.
- 2/5
Location was awesome. Super close to everything. Bed was very old and worn. No support and felt like it was gonna break. No little fridge. No way to have a cold drink or save leftovers. No table to sit at to eat with your person. Cable tv. But a lot of channels didn’t work. Loud. You can hear every door. All the voices. Everyone was very nice and helpful but I wouldn’t stay again.
- 2/5
Loved the location and updated floor and room We got woken up 2 mornings in a row at 7am to construction on the room next to us. We called and they said the sent someone to stop and they did but by that time we were already up. The next morning Saturday morning same thing but this time with a hammer. I understand construction but at 7am. The staff told us this should not happen that early. Had it happen both mornings we stayed. Didn't get to sleep in.

Very good
- 0.5/5
Terrible service, terrible facilities. Air conditioning not working, very hot. Hotel suggested to provide a fan in 32 degrees weather. There was mold in the bathroom, rooms were dirty.
- 1/5
Despite being advised to open the windows and later being provided with a fan, the room remained unbearably hot and uncomfortable. These measures were clearly inadequate and fell far below what is expected from a premium room. It is unacceptable that such a basic amenity was knowingly unavailable without prior notice.
- 4/5
Very nice, pool was not working! All the ice machines weren’t working as well
- 1/5
The room was in terrible shape. The bathtub was broken and the mattress was old and lumpy. Definitely needs upgrades

Staff was incredibly helpful, rooms were very clean as well as amenities were great , I’ll definitely will be coming back with my wife

This was one of the most uncomfortable hotel stays I’ve had. The room and hallways felt extremely outdated, dusty, and poorly maintained. The bathroom was also in very rough condition and did not feel clean or inviting. There were areas of the wall that looked damaged, stained, patched over, or peeling, and the overall condition of the room gave the impression that the building has not been properly updated in a long time. The hallway also felt very dated and honestly a bit creepy, especially with visible maintenance issues and open wall areas. There was a smoke detector that was removed and wires were just hanging from it (looked like a horror movie room). I want to be clear that I don’t blame the housekeeping staff. This felt more like a larger building/ownership issue than a cleaning issue. The room itself seemed beyond what housekeeping could reasonably fix. It needs serious renovation and attention. For the price and location, I was expecting something basic, but at least clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet that standard, and I would not choose to stay here again unless the rooms are renovated. I wish I was able to get a refund on my money but unfortunately there was a non cancellation stipulation.

Run down horrendous room. The batteries were dead on the room telephone as well as the thermostat on the wall. Mildew stains around the tub. Uncomfortable bed.
- 2/5
Whilst the website makes clear it's undergoing refurbishment there's nothing that clearly defines the impact we stayed in a room I believed had been renovated on floor 21 however the room certainly didn't look freshly decorated, the blind only went up and down halfway and the air con whilst cook made a horrible noise all night long and constantly sounded like dripping water. Then to top it all every morning we're woken at 7 but the sound of workmen upstairs drilling banging and crashing.
- 1/5
Poor lighting, no fridge
- 5/5
Amazing staff and great property! Conveniently located!
- 2/5
The staff was nice and helpful. I was safe and out of the elements. The bed was comfortable. The subway can be heard under the hotel throughout the night; I was on the 11th floor and might as well have been in the subway with just a wall between me and the train. The walls are paper thin so I heard 100% of everything my neighbors were saying and doing, and they were up all night. The neighboring doors slam so loud that it shakes the room... all night. The bathrooms were pretty bad, was very glad to have worn disposable slippers. The lamp was mangled, inside fixture falling apart, incandescent bulb on on side, flopped over, and a fluorescent twisty bulb on the other side. One of the lamps in the room didn't have a working on/off switch so it just stayed on all night. This is the first and last stay at this property.
- 0.5/5
Only location of property is good. Nothing is good inside of property. Facilities are very bad, rooms are very old even AC doesn’t have proper control. In washroom, hair dryer was not working. They have not even provided a soap and shampoo. Pathetic room services. Even reporting same to desk, nothing had been corrected.
- 1/5
It looks like they pulled a few of the hotel floors and rooms out of the sunken titanic and decided to start selling it. Floors were overly stained, outlets didn’t work, shower was stained, room was musty, paid near 300 a night for a room my closet is bigger than. The furniture and appliances were from the 80s. Nothing felt clean even though they said it was clean. There was dust in random places. Dirt in random places. Everything was painted over so poorly and just old and disgusting. If you go up to the highest floor, it looks like a mansion. they pick and choose which room that you get and what you pay for with a measly hundred dollars more you will get a room that’s SLIGHTLY better but still I don’t know how this hotel feels okay selling a room that looks as bad as mine did. I will be getting a refund. It was so bad that I had to go to the downstairs bathroom to get ready because of mine was not livable. It was not clean. Nothing worked not even the shower.
- 4/5
Customer service and all the staff were very helpful.
- 2/5
The showers floor felt like you were walking on a wave pool - I don’t know how to describe it. Hopefully this is going through a massive renovation because this was a poor value for the money.
- 2/5
The hotel hallways are dirty and poorly maintained, and the elevator signs are damaged and neglected. While the staff makes an effort to keep the rooms in good condition, the common areas do not receive the same level of attention. This is a hotel that seems to live on its past reputation and largely markets itself based on its central location rather than the current quality of its facilities.
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful!; the hotel is in a prime location right in the middle of Times Square, so you couldn't ask for more. Our double room was a good size, with comfortable bed, but the room walls are thin, and if you have a noisy neighbor, as we did, it's a bit of a nuisance. I understand it's an old building, but there are minor things that can be done to make sure the property doesn't look run-down, for instance, the bathroom had peeling paint on the ceiling and mold stains on the bathtub walls, and that could have been fixed easily. Breakfast consists of a kiosk with limited options, where you order through a window. Still, I would stay at the Manhattan again, only not include the breakfast package.
- 2.5/5
Location was great. Room was dirty, lights & electrical sockets did not work.

Staff teriffic. Espicially the man at front of hotel helping arriing guests and getting taxis etc. No control for HVAC. Room was comfortable but wouldhave like a slower fan. A night table would have been nice.

The hotel is in an excellent location and the front desk staff, porters, etc were amazing. Unfortunately, the website is showing the hotel will be or is in the process of being renovated to a Crowne Plaza. I generally do not leave reviews, and have never left a poor one, but the rooms are in extremely poor repair. Obviously no effort is being made until the complete reno. Rusty sink, yucky bathtub with the ceiling in shambles because no fan in bathroom, rugs dirty and do not look vaccumed, furniture old and scraped up, and no plugs by bed or desk! Even photo on wall, is hanging down inside the class, bathroom mirror cracked and light fixure hanging crooked. Would never step in bare feet here. So that’s where it stands in the meantime, but I’m sure will be amazing once renovated!

This is a GREAT LOCATION! Very convenient and quick service. The employees were just lovely and the service was excellent. The property (rooms) were functional and clean but could use some updating. The were no USB receptacles so bring your own adapters. The air conditioning system was rather "antique" but effective. The shower and bathroom itself was very nice - strong water pressure. The "grab and go" breakfast was a pastry, a beverage, and a fruit (apple or orange). Simple but effective. I would definitely stay there again especially since the price was excellent considering the location. Great for the families who want to spend a weekend in NYC so see the sites.

I read terrible reviews on this hotel before arrival so I was very skeptical. I must say it was nothing like the reviews. Stayed on the Manhattan floor which was newly renovated and it was great. Location was excellent. Wish there were more amenities for the price point, especially a bar and or dining. I would definitely stay here again. Glad I did not opt for the breakfast because that was very subpar. I would definitely stay here again though but hopefully with updated amenities.

Fantastic location. Property is extremely dated. Room was slightly on the smaller side- especially the bathroom.
- 2.5/5
Location is good. Walking distance to Times Square and the subway station. Able to check us in at 11am (we had a long overlay), we checked out at 6pm on the same day. Constant noise that sounds like pulling suitcases or trolleys or trains. Constant means every minute. Unable to have some quality sleep.Location is good. We know the tipping culture but the concierge asked us for tips because his shift will be out when we come back to collect our suitcases. What he only did was scribble on a small piece of paper, our 2 suitcases have wheels and he didn't need to lift a finger at all....a big turn off. It was the same staff when we collected our luggage and we did tip him.
- 2/5
The location is excellent and the beds are comfortable I understood that there was a refurbishment being carried out but there was the sound of workman drilling for two days in the room next door. The breakfast was disappointing and feels like you are visiting a food bank. There are also no facilities at all.
- 5/5
Our stay at The Manhattan Hotel was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The hotel itself was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located, but what truly made our experience stand out was the incredible customer service. A special thank you to Alison, her manager, and the entire staff for going above and beyond to make our visit smooth, stress-free, and enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. Alison and her manager were especially outstanding. They took the time to assist us with a unique situation and worked diligently to ensure everything was handled seamlessly. Their kindness, patience, and dedication to guest satisfaction were truly impressive and made a lasting impact on our stay. In a city as busy as New York, it is rare to find a team that provides such personalized and attentive service. The staff consistently exceeded our expectations and made us feel like valued guests throughout our visit. Thank you to Alison, her manager, and the entire team for making our trip so memorable. We highly recommend The Manhattan Hotel and look forward to staying here again the next time we visit New York City. Absolutely nothing! We stayed on one of the top renovated floors, and it was wonderful!

The rooms were outdated, I had to change rooms twice due to key fob issues
- 1/5
Couldn’t get into room the first two times they tried to give me a card. And the third try the keycard worked one time but when I stepped out and try to get back in it didn’t work again. Staff just kept giving me cards that didn’t worked. Overheard this happen to a couple of other customers who was trying for the sixth time. The hotel room was dingy and dirty and the staff was rude.

Everything was awesome
- 1.5/5
Location!! The stay was pretty disappointing overall. The location was great, but unfortunately that was about the only positive. The room felt poorly maintained. There was visible mold on the carpet and walls, and the cooling unit wasn't working properly when I checked in. I had to call the front desk three times and eventually go down in person before it was fixed. The engineer who came to look at it was also not very pleasant to deal with. The room had several standing lamps, but none of them were plugged in or even set up in a way that they could be used. The only lighting available was from the bedside lamps. The bathroom had no exhaust fan, and there was also a drainage issue with the tub. The room was supposed to have a city view, but the windows were so dirty that it was hard to enjoy it. Overall, the location was excellent, but the condition of the room and the service left a lot to be desired.
- 0.5/5
The hotel isn't good; there is nowhere to charge a phone—nothing at all—and the bed is too small. Everything is just terrible It is an old bed Toilets and dirty
- 3/5
The location was fantastic!! We were not able to use the air conditioner and the room was hot. Also, there was a fruit container that was full of molded fruit sitting on the window sill. The toilet overflowed three times in the four days we were there.

One bright spot however was the lovely doorman. He was the most helpful and very kind. He answered all our questions.

Old room. Nothing like the pictures
- 2.5/5
The truth is that the hotel entrance is very nice. The room where we stayed, the air conditioning didn’t work, they turned it off and my family got hot.
- 1/5
The location and the staff The cleanliness of the room. The toilets did not work properly, everyday the bathtub get dirty due to back flow...it was very nasty. The carpet feel sticky. The beb was very uncomfortable. The wall paper was not in good condition. The safe box was not working.
- 1/5
The staff was nice. The location was convenient. I would strongly discourage anyone from staying at The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel. The biggest issue is that the rooms are extremely old and outdated, completely different from what is advertised on their website. The furniture was dated, the carpets were old and stained (see the pictures), and the entire room felt as if it had not been renovated in decades. For the very high price they charge (300$ a night), this is simply unacceptable. The AC unit in our first room was incredibly noisy and clearly very old. We left the room for about 8 hours on a 90-degree day, and when we came back, the room smelled absolutely horrible from the AC, likely due to humidity, mold, or poor maintenance. Some of the vents were visibly dirty, and a few even appeared to have mold (see pictures). We had to request a room change because the smell was unbearable. The second room was slightly better only because the AC did not smell bad, but it was still extremely old and outdated. Again, nothing close to the modern, renovated rooms they advertise online. The bathroom came straight from a horror movie from the 60s (see the picture). The attached pictures show that the mattress was also in very poor condition and noticeably bent in the center. It made the bed uncomfortable and added to the feeling that the rooms are not being properly maintained. Another major disappointment was the “breakfast.” They charge an extra $30 for what they call breakfast, but it is literally just a grab-and-go option with ONE coffee, ONE bottle of water, and ONE piece of fruit or pastry. And the first day they didn't have fruit, so a pastry it HAD TO BE. That is nowhere near worth $30. You could get more at the nearest Starbucks for far less. Do not waste your money on the breakfast package. Overall, this hotel is overpriced, poorly maintained, misleading in its advertising, and badly in need of renovation.

- 2/5
the only nice thing we have to say is the location was good. the Hotel is NOT a 4 star hotel. It is dirty and poorly maintained. Our first room had chewing gum in the carpet. We switched to another room and the bathtub did not drain and the tub was not anchored property. This is an accident waiting to happen. We had to hold onto the rail as the tub floor moved. The wallways need paint and carpet. The breakfast was ridiculous as we told only one cup of coffee per person.

My A/C wasn't working when I checked in. I immediately notified the staff. The lady told me she was sending an engineer to look at it. The guy never came. I spent the whole day outside of the hotel because even the lobby was not cool enough. The temp that day was 89 . At 1am I went to the reception again to complain about the A/C. They sent a tech after 5 minutes who came in and checked the A/C and said it's dead. I went downstairs to be put in another room. The guy at the reception made the changes and was waiting for the Manager to override my reservation. The manager saw me standing there, even that he was notified he didn't seem to take it as an emergency . So I spent 45 minutes for the manager to finally override the change. The second room A/C was not in very good condition, I left my room and spent my whole night at a bar few blocks away from the hotel with a great A/C system. There was mold around some tiles in the bathroom. The faucet was making a loud sound when turning the water on. Breakfast was ridiculous. Very poor experience. I will not come back to this hotel even if they are the Lowest price in town.
- 3/5
It was ok. Good location
- 2/5
The room is outdated and bathroom was leaking all night. The tub floor feels like you are surfing due to water getting under the floor. I went to NY for work at the Convention Center as a carpenter, using regular work clothes and needed some help from front desk and was mistreated and biased. Not the greatest feeling being discriminated because of my accent and my clothes.
- 3/5
The room itself was fine- nothing special but really ok. Old fashioned in style but ça va. However, the bathroom was a mess. Like an old hospital bathroom from 1982. Everything worked ok, but it was a cheap sloppy build. And the shower anti-slip mat was absolutely gross- with some icky black fungus hiding below. Some guests complained that the AC was out. Luckily ours was ok. For 2 nights it was manageable, and not a terrible price for NYC, but the place needs a serious facelift and some hefty TLC. I would not stay there again.
- 1/5
Old, outdated, false advertising. No gym or restaurant on site. Highly highly don’t recommend.
- 2/5
Tuve la mala suerte de que la luz nunca funciono, todos los días la reporte y nunca la arreglaron, no volveria
- 2.5/5
The beds were very comfortable, and the location is fantastic—particularly for proximity to Times Square and easy access to subways. The grab-and-go breakfast was also a great option for early mornings and set us up well for the day. In addition, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. Overall, our stay was reasonably positive, but it was unfortunately impacted by our initial check-in experience, which influenced our overall rating. After a long flight and transfer from the airport, we arrived looking forward to starting what was a bucket-list trip. However, upon check-in we were advised that the room we had booked and paid for was not available for the first night, and we would be placed in a different room. While the team confirmed that our original room would be available the following day, this required us to check out by 12pm and wait until 4pm to access the new room. Although we understand that operational issues can occur, this process was quite inconvenient and disrupted our plans at the start of the trip. Having to relocate rooms and adjust our schedule on short notice took away from what should have been a seamless arrival experience. A smoother solution or some flexibility around the transition would have made a big difference. Aside from this, the stay itself was generally enjoyable. One additional point to note is that each morning, upon leaving the hotel, we were approached quite directly by sales representatives for the Big Bus tour company just outside the entrance. While we recognise this is outside of the hotel’s control, it could be helpful for guests to be made aware of this, particularly after a long journey when first impressions matter. With a more seamless arrival experience, this would have been a much stronger overall stay.
- 3/5
Air conditioning didn’t work at all while we were staying the two nights & it also happened to be in the high 80’s/low 90’s outside. The room was in the high 70’s the whole time we stayed. Management said the whole hotel’s units were down which is not an excuse… Items like air conditioning/ units should be a priority for a large hotel.
- 1/5
I would never stay at this place if I was you I arrived and right away had bad customer service. Then I was told that the AC wasn’t working and I had a problem with my reservation and that I could go to another hotel then they charged me for the night. I didn’t even stay.

The AC in our room was completely broken during one of the hottest times in NYC. The room was unbearably hot, and we had no choice but to open the window—only to deal with extremely loud street noise all night. Me and my family couldn’t sleep at all for 3 nights straight. We stayed 4 days / 3 nights, and every single night was miserable. I contacted the front desk multiple times. They kept saying they would send someone to fix it, but no one ever came. Not once. Completely ignored. The staff was unhelpful and honestly felt ignorant. No urgency, no real solution, no room change—nothing. If the AC couldn’t be fixed, they should have told us early so we could contact our third-party booking and move somewhere else. Instead, we trusted them and gave them multiple chances, which turned out to be a huge mistake. They only refunded the service fee (ac) due to the broken AC, but that does NOT make up for 3 nights of no sleep and the overall terrible experience. Not worth the full amount of money paying. Worst stay ever. Would not recommend.

Shower was gross and bottom of tub was peeling. Sink drain was backed up. Pipes were rusted and nasty. Sink faucet was leaking on counter. No wash cloths or hand towels in rooms. Had to request from cleaning. Carpet was stained and dirty in room. Black out curtains were stained and did not cover flashing lights from the Neon signs outside window. Pictures of room on website did not match actual room. Very misleading. Staff was not accommodating and provided no alternative options or cared that the room was dirty. We addressed issues with Staff daily and no issues were resolved during our stay. Hallways were dirty and carpet was ripped and bubbled up and a tripping hazard. Will not recommend this hotel or IHG chain to anyone!!!

The location was nice. That’s about all I liked… The A/C was broken; the wouldn’t go below 70 degrees. Even though the temperature outside was 90+ degrees. The walls are paper thin; we could hear the entire conversation of our neighbors. And they were extremely loud between the hours of 12am-3am and then again 5am-8am. We found dried blood on the bathroom sink. And the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling and falling down.

Most of the outlets in our room did not work. When we tried to plug in our cell phone charges the charger would just fall right out of the outlet or was extremely loose. The cool air was pretty poor as well. We turned it down to 60 and it was still warm when we walked in the room after a full day of being on. Bathroom was very small and outdated. There is absolutely no ventilation in the bathroom so the room gets steamy and wet after a quick shower. Because of this, the ceiling and walls were visibly damaged. The doors to the rooms are very heavy. You can hear when someone enters of exits their room because of the slamming door sound. The provided bathroom toiletries pump out so small, and the product was just overall bad. The soap didn’t lather well and the shampoo/conditioner had no smell and didn’t wash my well at all. Bring your shampoo and conditioner and body wash. The mattress was uncomfortable. It definitely is old or of very poor quality, or both…. The staff was also quick to point out how to tip them for baggage storage. The TV is also not streaming capable and only offers cable.

Very poorly maintained property. I wouldn’t recommend. HVAC didn’t work. Bathroom was gross. Ice makers were on most floors but only a few worked
- 2/5
Definitely more of a place for business people. They had staff standing around when we went to use the table in the lobby to eat. Waited til we had our food out to tell us we can’t eat there. Standard One queen bed room was very small and had no fridge or microwave. Furnishings were outdated. Mattress was terrible, felt like an old box spring. Slept terrible. For the price not worth it. Looks like they spent more money on the lobby. One plus they did have live music.

Convenient location to the theaters. Lobby is nicely redone. Staff was kind and helpful. Bed was comfortable but a little squeaky. We were assigned room 1108, it was awful, curtains falling off the window, felt unclean dusty and very run down. Since they had no premium rooms left to upgrade to we asked for a different room at least with a view. They moved us to room 1428. Better but still not great, bathroom tiles moldy, leaking sink. All Vents were extremely dusty. Better view at least.

Room2 slightly better but again live wires hanging from wall, albeit above head height on this occasion, this is where the Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm should have been. Staff said that they would address this immediate have a working alarm installed (New York Law). After 5hrs still no alarm so upgraded to a better room, which we were initially told wasn’t available. Room3. Clearly recently renovated and much better; however, new lights on walls and taps all loose and hanging free. Also, room was by the lift with zero noise insulation, it would have been quieter sleeping in Central Park. Manager stated the ‘facility charge’ would be removed for the stay to compensate; however, at checkout it was still there on the bill, and to rub salt in the wound we had been charged for breakfast, which was included with the initial booking. Staff. Initial receptionist and supervisor very apologetic and helpful, sadly the receptionist at checkout didn’t appear to care or be that interested in our situation until I made my feelings very clear. On the positive side the location was great. The very worst hotel stay my wife and I have ever experienced - obviously can’t recommend and wouldn’t stay again, even with IHG changing the hotel to a Crown Plaza.
- 3/5
It is a great location if you are a first timer to New York. It’s walking distance to time square and all Broadway shows. We stayed in the standard rooms and it was a little average for room standards but comfortable enough. Also the hotel didn’t have a gym, we had to use another hotel. But overall, the staff was helpful and price was reasonable.
- 3.5/5
The location was incredible... few hundred yards from Tines Square, stones throw from Central Park, The Rock, Radio City, Chrysler building all within touching distance and a good subway network access nearby too The hotel is undergoing a major renovation. I enquired about this after seeing the reviews and the response I got was quick and positive, they stated that they would give us a renovated room, which they did, however they charged us a premium for it, maybe a misunderstanding but still dissapointing. The room itself was lovely, however when you looked closely it wasnt great. Paintwork was shabby, plug sockets hadn't been fitted properly, the taps in the bathroom were loose and difficult to use. The shower was slanted, left a puddle of water that wouldnt drain and the shiwer door kept sliding open.
- 3.5/5
Great location, nice rooms, fast elevators. Maintenance issues. No AC or Heat! Hot water handle on sink kept falling off. No stopper on sink, loose spout. Slow drain in shower. Construction noise early in the morning. Alerted front desk 3 times. And then they cleared the drain.

The room was very disappointing compared to the pictures it looked horribly different it seemed like I was put on un remodeled floor. The room was dirty and everything was old and used. The lobby & elevator looked up to date though. The attendant greeting at my car when I first pulled in was very delightful and welcoming! He went out of his way to accommodate me and make me feel welcomed. The front of house staff was also great!

Went to drop off our luggage before room was ready and they demanded a tip. If I knew I would just leave it at my last stay since they don’t charge and it’s not super inconvenient for me to go back anyways. Coffee machine was broken. I was aware of construction and knew what I signed up for but really didn’t expect them to work on the room directly above and every morning it sounded like they will break through the ceiling. Even if they just skip a room or an entire floor would have made a huge difference.

While the lobby is spacious and beautiful, the rooms are old, outdated, very small, and lack basic amenities like a microwave or refrigerator. During my stay in room 607, I encountered a series of significant issues: - Maintenance Issues: The bathroom faucet dripped constantly. Maintenance informed us they lacked the parts to fix it. Additionally, the in-room phone did not work. - Unsanitary Conditions: Upon pulling back the covers, we found hair and ants in the bed. - Poor Service: After reporting the insects via my cell phone, we waited an hour for assistance that never arrived. When we went to the lobby in our pajamas to get sheets, the front desk staff was dismissive and acted as if we were a bother. - Room Flooding and Personal Property Damage: While we were out, our room flooded. No one called to inform us. We only discovered this when our key cards failed to work upon our return. Some of our personal items were damaged by the water. - Inadequate Resolution: Dealing with this situation caused us to miss our dinner reservations. While I appreciate Gary from housekeeping for his sincerity and for arranging dry cleaning for our wet clothes, the manager Natasha appeared agitated and insincere. Her offer of a one-night

The place was dirty and just unkept. The location is good, but that’s about it. They also keep $150 in resort/destination fess. Cannot recommend

Great location, friendly front desk, clean room. My only negative comment would be the hotel doors close / slam quite loudly and our floor had no carpet so that sound amplified. Maybe request to be on a carpeted floor or see if they have ear plugs.
- 2/5
The photos of these rooms are misleading. The walls had marks and a hole. The bathroom was stained the bathtub had water underneath the tub that made it feel unsafe to stand in. Overall it just felt like false advertising for a room that was not cheap to book. The location is very good but their are other hotels in the same area so we will not book this location again.

Great location. Very convenient. The staff was generally friendly. The lobby was clean and smelled good. When we arrive, there was some dirty hair in the bathroom and vapes on the floor under the tables. We we’re disappointed for the price we paid. The wall were super thin and we’ve got woken up early because people we’re closing their door loudly. We were hearing the elevator even if we were in our room. At our check-out, we asked a question to a person in the lobby and she looked at us with a judgmental face and didn’t even try to answer our question. To be completely honest, we are disappointed from our choice and we won’t come back.
- 2.5/5
The staff was absolutely amazing, and the location is top notch. Walk times are great to tourist spots or the subway. Very convenient. It’s old and outdated. We were on floor 11 and the room was in pretty rough shape. The bed was even broken on the side closest to the window.
- 0.5/5
Upon arrival, we encountered a room in extremely poor condition—dirty, dilapidated, with even urine left unflushed. After raising this issue with the manager, they agreed to fully refund our booking, and we subsequently rebooked at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.
- 2/5
Location was great, lots of food options, subway, things nearby. The hotel is partially renovated. Some family members stayed in the un-renovated floors and they were terribly run down, and old. We stayed in the newly renovated room, but the AC wasn’t working, and the hot water took 5-7 minutes just to get hot, the walls are paper thin, we could hear every cough, conversation, person walking by.
- 2/5
Lobby was renovated and ok .
- 3/5
It is not slightly noise. You can hear everything from your room as it is in your room. The rooms are clean the staff is nice Lobby can get some upgrade. But the noise from inside the hotel in your room is the reason the hotel gets low review. The worst experience on that hand. Bad for the team that probably needs to work harder to deal with patrons complains - they are very nice and accommodating but the hotel should invest in a way to eliminate the inside noise that is not screened to your room.
- 1/5
Avoid at all cost! What a terrible experience! The rooms looked dingy and it smelled like mold, we were moved to another floor when I brought up the smell of mold. Notice the mold on the ceiling. Paper thing walls, the noise was so loud, the drilling sounded like it was right under my bed, you'll hear everything. There was a fight between a couple right in the middle of the night, right across our room and the police had to come. The beds were used up and uncomfortable. The shower nob was broken. We didn't have water for a day. Worse hotel I stayed in NYC and I stayed in many of them.

I did the bed was hard asf. The lights didn’t work on the elevator to indicate which door was opening, the wall paper was peeling, the light that you turn on when you 1st go in the room flicker every time it was turned on. The shower curtain rod loose I almost killed myself. It was one roll of toilet paper that ran out my last night I thought it was alway supposed to be one extra roll. Then almost $900 there isn’t any complimentary breakfast. That it was walking distance to every place I needed to be.

Bath drain totally blocked it need 2 hours to put almost functional. Electrical Outlets damaged and hold in the drywalls. High Noise from other rooms. My from smell strong like urine. I booked 2 bed they gave us for 3 people 1 king size. Breakfast for $14 result 1 orange or apple 1 juice or soda and 1 bread or nothing else, it was delivery in a small counter like a tikect seller POS, woman taking a list and notes like a jail, people in line in the lobby beside check in and check out seems central station. Parking lot offered with announced fix rate daily, no matter what they charge $87 for 18 hours and hotel said they are different company. Hotel representative gave me $45 off by something as time sharing police and when I claim more matters they said $100 off but this bad attention and situation deserve be free no any money at all. Staff in the lobby show high stress and one of their leader all the time was upset while he was talking with other. New York is not New York any more. I will never return there and it is so sad, it was my preferred place to go and by far, and I have visited more than 100 times and most than any other place. I travel millions miles from Miami to Caracas mostly and I select go firts for one day or more to Manhattan a place that every one charge enough energy to feel grate. I miss that

Renovated rooms were not recently renovated. We were checked into a room with broken shades. A light hanging out of the headboard. A broken shelf in the shower. Our room was switched to another room which was better but no air conditioning. We had to have maintenance, open the windows and bring a fan for us to use during our entire visit.
- 0.5/5
The location We had three different rooms, the first one had completely wet carpeting, the entire room, also no thermostat so either constant air or no air, the second room had a broken bed/ mattress, it was a huge V on one side of the mattress and the thermostat once again didn’t work was actually removed, tv did not work or turn on at all, the wires were cut. The third room was better except still no thermostat and the shower completely flooded due to not draining
- 5/5
Great experience would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to others
- 1.5/5
The bed and pillow was comfortable. The location was great. The filtered water refill station on our floor was very useful. The room was dingy and smelled moldy. The carpet and paint looked like it hasn't been updated in decades, the only thing that looked new was the lobby which seems deceptive. There weren't accessible plug ins. Why was the shampoo just sitting on the ledge and not installed? The lock on the door was broken and didn't feel safe.
- 2/5
The front staff checking in was rude anytime I was there.
- 4/5
No air or heat
- 3/5
However, the first night we were put in a room with a terribly dank smell, A/C barely cooling at all, we sweated all night, and there was construction noise before 7am the next morning. So, we delayed our plans for the day and hauled our luggage back down to the lobby to check out of that room and be placed in another room on a different floor, which we had been given the wrong type of keys for, and we had to go back down to reception to switch out the keys, only to be let into a room with ZERO A/C. We decided at that point to go on with our day and deal with the room situation upon our return. Later, we were assigned a THIRD room, on a renovated floor, which alleviated the smell and the construction noise, but, while this room did have some air flow, it was not sufficient to make the room entirely comfortable. I've stayed at this hotel four times now as it is a prime location. But I will be considering other options next visit.
- 2/5
The pictures were deceiving, if you get a basic room they will put you in the bottom floors which are old and had a musty smell. In order to get a room like the one in the pictures you have to pay an extra "premium" fee. I did because the bottom rooms were horrible. In our "premium" room the AC was broken and the maintenance had to come and fix it, he was rude and said we just had to adjust the thermostat. When we told him of course we tried that, he right away pulled out batteries from his pocket and replaced the batteries on the thermostat. The only areas that were decent was the view from the premium room and the desk staff.
- 3/5
The room's air did not work. It was 82 degrees in the room. The staff stated someone would fix it, but that did not happen. The staff were nice, but no more rooms with 2 beds available. There is a $45 per night extra charge that was not noted when I prepaid for the room and did not find out until checkout. Building is under some construction, so it is a work in progress not known when this hotel was booked.
- 5/5
Our housekeeper was so kind and delightful. We talked with her and she was so proud to have worked for 20+ years at this hotel. Everything was neat and tidy.

For a building with construction going on there was little if any noise and no disruption. The staff was lovely and an excellent location. Looking forward to returning when the improvements are complete!
- 4/5
Don't want to complain too much since we only stayed for two nights and it was fine for that. Location is perfect, staff was nice, thought it was weird that the grab and go closed early. We arrived at check-in time, realized we wanted to get a snack and a drink after settling in the room and couldn't because the area was closed and the front desk wouldn't add it to the room bill... least we assumed they couldn't because they told us where the nearest convenient store was to get what we needed. Our room was in desperate need of updates - the AC didn't work, only blew out hot air so we slept with the windows open. TV remote buttons didn't work except for power and the actual numbers so you had to go old school and manually input the numbers to get to a different channel. Worst was the bathroom though. We had no problem with it being dated and in need of some new paint but we did have a problem with everything else in there because the sink leaked everywhere whenever you turned it on and also clogged immediately, we had to shimmy the toilet handle after flushing otherwise the toilet would keep running, and the tub leaked when taking a shower. Still, we were hardly in the room and the bed was comfortable but for what we paid for only two nights, I expected a little more than what we got.

The worst experience ever. No AC in the room in hot New York day. Then, rude staff during check-in and responding to the AC issue. They promised the hotel guests to supply fans which they never did. The phone is not working to pass any messages. The furniture and hotel accessories go at least 50 years back. Though I am platinum IHG member, I wouldn’t advise nor recommend this bad hotel at all.

The AC wasnt working throughout the hotel. Was supplied with a fan. The property is under alot of construction so was very Noisy. The restaurant was not yet open but sign said comming soon. When we went into our room, it was close to 80 degrees with no way to turn on a fan or change the temperature. We went to use the bathroom and hang a towel on the towel rack and the rack literally fell off the wall. When we called and asked for maintenance to come look at the room to address the temperature, the maintenance staff Said that the whole building was still in heat mode because the whole building had to be switched to air conditioning mode and that there was no option to adjust the temperature and each room. He then proceeded to open our windows and put a box fan in our window to help 'cool' the room. Please keep in mind we're on the 22nd floor and there are no screens in the windows! We are traveling with two children and I have no idea how this is even legal with the tremendous risk a child being able to fall out the window!

Book for two nights, first the tv wasn’t working , the technician couldn’t fix it that’s fine. In the morning I woke up sweating all over my body the room became very hot, I called to front desk that the unit is not working and she is telling me we are still in march it is cold outside, which is very ridiculous. They didn’t offer to go another room or something instead they told to check out. Very rude and horrible place to stay out , very inconvenient…
- 2/5
I spoke with the front desk as I was checking out, and told them they shouldn't be renting that room out to anyone especially for the prices they charge. She mentioned that they were planning to renovate the rooms, but how does that help me. They did refund two nights of their resort or service fees. If you're going to reserve a room here, make sure you're getting one of the renovated rooms because that's what they show at the top of their Expedia photo montage. You have to scroll pretty far down before you see the old style rooms. Those rooms don't even look that bad in the photo but the one we put in was just falling apart.

The. Carpet was so dirty I wouldn’t let my grandchildren walk barefoot on it. The bathroom sink and bath tub are so old they have brown rings on them. Overall the room needed a major overhaul. New carpet, fresh paint, new bathroom appliances and windows need cleaning. I would not stay there again.
- 2/5
Great location poor value
- 4/5
Property was too old, and the maintenance was not sufficient to handle old property. But people were nice, and they did their best to make us stay comfortable.
- 4/5
The staff was incredibly helpful. I loved the text feature. I used it quite a few times to ask questions and received instant replies. The rooms were clean and we were told that they are going through a renovation which is fine. The only thing I didn’t like was our first morning we were awoken to hammering and sawing in the room above us. But once I sent a text about it and asked if they could at least start an hour later we never had another issue.
- 2/5
There was no AC. Had to open window on 14 th floor for air. Rooms need to be renovated badly. Will not recommend to any of my family or friends.
- 4/5
We found this hotel good value for the money. For the busy location our room on the 11th floor was quiet and we had good nights' sleeps and naps. We had a street view, and it appears that all rooms have one. We liked that there were four elevators and we never waited long. There was some construction going on in the hotel, so there was some off and on noise 7AM-4PM. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a bit chilly, and you can not adjust the temperature even within a range-an engineer had to come. We wish an extra blanket had been provided in the closet. The bathroom was well lit to shave and do makeup and, while compact, was well set up. We enjoyed having a tub for a hot bath. Shower supplies and a hair dryer were provided but no hand soap. Storage was good. The closet was adequate and had plenty of hangers plus an iron an ironing board. Two suitcase racks were provided. The dresser had six drawers. There was a desk and a night table with lamps and drawers. Internet was strong. We did not use the TV, but it was a good size. Furniture was old and a bit worn. There is no room service. There are ice machines on every floor, but finding one that was working was a challenge. We had to go up two floors for ice. The lobby is big and has a reasonable amount of seating, and luggage check is available via the doormen for no fee, but tip is expected.
- 4/5
Great location
- 3/5
AC did not keep the room cool. Some construction going on at night that kept me awake.
- 1/5
The room we originally booked was not available when we arrived so we were downgraded to a room with mold, the ceiling in the bathroom was falling in, and was just overall dirty! We booked a premium room with 2 queen beds so our party could stay in the same room. When we arrived we were in 2 separate rooms which was the biggest reason we chose this hotel over many others. We were on the same floor but still wanted the safety of staying with our group. The manager did offer us a room together, but it had double beds and the room was the same condition as the rooms we were already staying in. The room keys had to be reprogrammed after every single exit, the desk clerk was rude when they had to be reprogrammed. We were not the only people that had these issues, every time I went to get a new keycard someone was complaining about the noise or the condition of their room! The only good thing that I have to say about this property is the hat the doorman was excellent! He was the most helpful person there!
- 3/5
Very disappointing
- 3/5
2. The key card did not work, had to go downstairs 3x to get it fixed and the staff had a nonchalant attitude. 3. No outlets in the room, the only available outlet in the room was in bathroom, the 2 outlets in the room was filled with lamps and tv. 4. Smoking hot in room, the air conditioning unit the knobs were broken. Had to use my cellphone to call downstairs and no one at the front desk answered when I called at 11:47pm. 5. Very outdated Will never stay again.
- 3/5
This hotel had the makings of a good place but it’s tired looking. It’s pretty run down. The walls are also thin and you can hear everyone. The AC isn’t on half the year so you can’t operate it in your room. The staff was nice but they can only work with what they have. Had high hopes for this hotel but won’t be staying again.
- 1/5
The situation was made worse by loud repair or construction noise from the floor above beginning before 7:00 a.m. There had been no advance notice or apology regarding this disturbance. While the lobby area appeared presentable, the room itself was not maintained to an acceptable standard. I felt so uncomfortable that I checked out as soon as possible.
- 1/5
I would not recommend anyone stay here period. No ammenties no AC no ice machine working no restraunt s nothing but old run down rooms .Great location but terrible experience
- 2/5
Room availability changed upon arrival. Front desk staff promises a refund for inconvenience. Later refund denied without explanation. Hotels.com intervened but to no avail. Very disappointed with the hotel management.
- 2/5
No ac and yes I opened the window the little crack that it did open. The tv didn’t work and the phone just kept ringing. Went down to the front desk and they told me they were sorry and a big team had arrived and they could be calling the wrong room offered us late checkout but cmon no ac is the worst going to a hotel.
- 1/5
Unprofessional front desk
- 4/5
Under construction. Front desk staff wasnt very welcoming. I had a water leak in the ceiling that dripped on the bed when i notified the hotel they said, thanks for letting us know.
- 3/5
It's ok, not great. The renovated rooms are nice and clean, bathroom and shower are nice. They are still renovating so you get woken up at 7AM every morning from construction sounds!!! The air in our room didn't work properly and IT WAS 80° IN OUR ROOM!!!! We tried turn the temperature down to 65 but it just kept blowing hot air!! I called the front desk 2 different times and each time they said they were spending someone, but nobody ever came. I also had to call the front desk 4 times to get them to answer the 2nd time I called. Eventually we just turned it off and cracked the windows and that helped cool off the room. We also requested a refrigerator and microwave and we were told that we didn't have to be in the room to receive them, but of course when we got back to the room that night they were there. I called AGAIN and asked for them. When the man brought them up, he said he came earlier but we weren't there. I told him we were told they would come in the room and just drop it off and we didn't have to be there. He said they can't gonin the room if the do not disturb sign is on the door. I told him there was no sign on the door.
- 1/5
Rooms smell so bad, no hot water, no refrigerator, very bad and uncomfortable bed, no shampoo
- 5/5
Internet was okay, nice staff
- 1/5
The keys never worked
- 1/5
Property is very outdated. Contrary to the pictures online this property is old, moldy and not clean. The elevators had wires exposed on the interior and exterior. I would not recommend this property to anyone.
- 2/5
Bathtub was rusted. And was not properly cleaned as there was hair. It is not soundproof as you can hear the people in the hall and the next room as if they were inside your room. All I can say is false advertisement. Lobby was beautiful but beyond that, not what I was expecting as 1 night was pricey.
- 5/5
Typical NY room. Small and over priced but thats what you get to be in the middle of NYC.
- 3/5
They are doing construction and renovation right now. We were woken up early by the construction noises. The hotel is close to all things theater and lots of shopping, restaurants and subway stops.
- 5/5
The hotel location is amazing. Hotel room comfortable and I had a very good experience there. Highly recommend if you want to go to NYC and you’re on a budget.
- 2/5
Location of hotel next to Winter Garden Theatre was convenient.
- 1/5
It was so hot all through our stay.. Secondly you have to climb more than 100 stairs before getting into your room which wasn’t listed on description.. Am glad we didn’t travel with my aged mom, she wouldn’t have been able to climb.. it’s terrible putting luggage’s on your head just to check in😭😭 Terrible!!!!
- 4/5
The staff were extremely friendly and more than accommodating. The room was very nice, but it seemed like the thermostat didn’t work. It was 80° in our room every minute that we were there, the window was only opened about 2 inches on each side, so none of the hot air from the hotel hallway could escape. There is no air-conditioning so warning about that.
- 4/5
Staff and location were great however there is no air conditioning- I looked at so many hotels before booking I could have missed that but I thought it said they did have it. The barn door style bathroom door did not close, and the cold knob on the faucet was stripped. I would consider the air conditioning to have only been a minor convenience. Since it was February and not actively snowing or raining, we just left the windows open. I’m sure we would have slept better and more quietly though if we could have closed the windows. I would also not want to stay in July without AC!
- 5/5
Very convenient! Clean rooms! Smelled amazing! Staff wondered esp Raquel when checking in she let us know everything surrounding us and how to get there, gave us our WiFi password, and told us we could text if we needed anything from the hotel 24/7 to just reply. I would definitely stay here and refer others here as well
- 4/5
The hotel stay was overall average but negatively impacted by several issues. There appear to be two types of rooms: older rooms that are very dated and dark, and renovated rooms on the updated 18th floor. We were initially assigned an older room, which felt worn and lacked brightness. The heating was not functioning properly, likely due to depleted batteries, and despite reporting the issue, it was not resolved. As a result, we were moved to a renovated room; however, the heating was not working there either. Cleanliness was acceptable but not to a high standard, as certain areas could have been better maintained. Ongoing renovation work during the day created significant noise, beginning as early as 7:30 AM. In particular, an important call scheduled between 1:00 and 3:00 PM was disrupted by loud drilling, making it difficult to communicate effectively. The in-room safe was also not operational, which was inconvenient. Although the staff were polite and the location was convenient, these combined issues reduced the overall comfort and value of the stay. Improved maintenance, clearer communication about renovations, and better room checks would significantly enhance the guest experience.
- 2/5
Rooms were outdated, there was an odd smell coming from the carpet, no one came to clean our room even though it was requested at the front desk during our 3 day stay. Front desk staff can be a little rude at times.
- 3/5
The best part about the stay was Maxine at the front desk, we happened to get stuck in New York during the recent blizzard and while guests were out of sorts and days were long, Maxine remained poised and pleasant while other front desk members could not be less interested to help. I also rated 3 stars because it would have been helpful to know at booking that the hotel was under renovations. Otherwise, it was suitable for a stay in the city with no real standouts aside from accessibility and Maxine, thank you Maxine for everything.
- 1/5
The room was extremely outdated and looked nothing like the photos advertised online. Cleanliness was also a major issue. There was dust everywhere, visible mold, and the pillows were dirty and clearly old. It did not feel sanitary or properly maintained. When I requested extra clean towels, they never arrived. I eventually had to go down to the lobby myself to get them. When I mentioned that I had already requested them earlier, my concern was dismissed rather than handled professionally. Even Hotels.com customer service attempted to reach out to the property regarding these issues, but their call was reportedly dropped, and no meaningful follow-up occurred. Overall, this stay was far below expectations. Between the smoke smell, poor cleanliness, outdated condition, and lack of responsive service, it was a very frustrating experience. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes improvements for future guests.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Very good service.
- 1/5
The room had multiple maintenance issues that made it very uncomfortable. The bathroom sink was clogged, and the shower/tub would fill up with water while showering because it would not drain properly. The toilet also did not flush correctly, which is a basic necessity that should never be an issue in a hotel room. In addition, the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The TV did not work, and neither did the room phone, so there was no easy way to contact the front desk about the problems. There was also no microwave or refrigerator in the room, which was very inconvenient during our stay. Overall, the room felt poorly maintained and not worth the price. Combined with the lack of basic customer service, this was a very disappointing experience — especially for a first visit to New York. I would not stay here again unless major improvements are made.
- 5/5
Yes the room and staff were great we didn’t know you had to request refrigerator there wasn’t one in our room but we enjoyed our stay
- 3/5
At check out I asked for a receipt, told her about the refund. She said they never issued me a refund and didn’t write a note about the late check-in, so it was if it never happened. Gave me a receipt that showed she subtracted the $100, now have to keep an eye on the cc bill because it’s still pending. Local to all travel and food. Beds were comfortable in the premium room.
- 2/5
The mattresses were thin and sagging. The curtains were dirty. The desk was not sitting flat on the floor and jiggled when I used my computer so I ended up working on the bed. The room was dingy with dingy decor. My room was situated outside of the laundry room which made me feel like I was in the basement. I paid an outrageous amount for a subpar room. The location was great, and the room was clean, but that is where the positive review ends.
- 4/5
I love the location, everything seem close to us!
- 5/5
Great staff great room breakfast was mid
- 2/5
Im only giving this hotel a 2 star for its location. Thats the best thing about it. The rooms were terrible.. the floors in the hallways were terrible just dirty the best thing is the lobby area. There is no amenities … no microwaves in the entire hotel. It was just a place to lay your head. Which worked for a quick 2 night trip. I’ll make sure to believe the reviews next time. The staff was nice though.
- 5/5
We were upgraded due to renovations on the property. Staff were courteous and pleasant to work with. Would definite return next time.
- 5/5
Super clean rooms. Nice and helpful staff. Good continental staff.

- 3/5
This hotel is in need of a total renovation. Lobby area was ok but room was very very dated and not very clean
- 4/5
The breakfast was so limited that it could hardly be called breakfast. The rooms and flats are a little deteriorated. But it is located in a great place. Very central and close to everything. Very friendly staff.
- 1/5
This room was horrible! I want to make a complaint. Please assist!
- 4/5
They addressed our needs
- 2/5
The people were good, but the room was very sub standard. Other than the maintenance issues, the walls were paper thin and we could hear everything outside our room.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for being a part of my plans to celebrate my husband's 35th birthday.
- 5/5
Everything stood out, staff, cleanliness, atmosphere, great place to stay can’t wait to go back!!
- 1/5
The place was under renovation and the places us in a room with a ceiling falling.

No AC, it was hot, no working water in the ice machine.
- 1/5
The hotel is exploitative and the staff are inflexible. I
- 1/5
Not well maintained dirty hotel, broken bed, and they were remodeling a room next to ours so they were making a lot of noise early in the morning, and we were not informed about this.

The room was horrific. Dirty. Moved us to an equally poor room, will not recommend or return
- 5/5
Perfect fit for a broadway visit!
- 5/5
Good service
- 3/5
The keurig machine didn't work in the room, the outlet in the bathroom wasn't functioning, and the overhead light when you enter the room didn't work. We pointed these out to the maintenance worker who said "he would report it". When we checked in were were told we were being "upgraded to a newly renovated room on the top floor". This was hardly a newly renovated room. I travel often for business and have never experienced a hotel only having working air conditioning in the summer. The room was legit 80 degrees when we checked in and we got no sleep all weekend.
- 1/5
This place is literally a motel 6 ...the rooms are horrible
- 1/5
Room is falling apart, front desk is already overwhelmed by customer complaints for the same, so when talking to front desk you get a nasty response and pretty much blaming hotel.com for not having actual photos, worst expirience ever, hotel is more like a motel and stinks, they change room and it was the same
- 2/5
The room was located right next to the elevator. A first No no. The room gave very little efficiencies. No night table on either side of the bed; limited toiletries: ie: no lotion, an almost empty shower gel bottle. The room phone battery was dead, as was the room temperature control panel on the wall. All of this should've been inspected prior to clearing the room for occupancy. And breakfast, absurd. I prepaid for it, thinking i was getting a hot meal. I wouldn't call a bagel, coffee and a fruit a full meal. I was very dissappointed. Additionally, as far as my welcome at check-in, not very thorough in providing any hotel information.
- 2/5
The restaurant was closed for construction. There was holes in the walls and the tub had rust in it with the floor of the tub lifted and coming up. They made our reservation a no call no show after our flight was delayed by a day and I had called the hotel to let them know so the room we had was terrible.
- 4/5
Room was fine...helpful staff ...ESPECIALLY the doormen !!! Very attentive and helpful. Nice grab and go breakfast....good location. Id definitely stay again...👍🗽👍🏙
- 1/5
Room was below standard. Not worth the price.
- 4/5
Great location.
- 3/5
Internet also runs so slowly it is not usable for most modern things. Bed and shower were very good.
- 3/5
Hotel was dated
- 5/5
Old but clean
- 1/5
Well for starters rooms look nothing like web site more like the Brady Bunch🙄 rooms where horrible and would not ever stay at that place agin rude people and just all around dirty place
- 1/5
Booed this place based on the reviews on this website and you guys are full of poop. Disgusting and misleading.
- 2/5
Location is great but the property needs a full renovation - which they are currently working on. Rooms and floors that haven’t been renovated definitely show years of wear and tear. Mattresses were horrible. During our stay the elevators broke so only 2 worked causing major backups.
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful. The room was spacious and there was plenty of warm water. However, the room was very outdated and run down. Also, a couch would have been better than the dresser or the desk in that space. The bed was not comfy. However, we did like the location and we enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Room was clean. It was warm and they did bring a fan for the room that helped.
- 1/5
No breakfast. Rooms were hot. Walls are paper thin so you hear everything in rooms beside you. Lower floors look NOTHING like the advertised photos. Only positive was proximity to attractions. Overpriced for questionable stay.
- 1/5
They said the restaurant is getting renovated and just gave us cold bagels and bad coffee. I would like some refund as I had to spend money on getting breakfast from outside every day.
- 3/5
The lobby was small. Thought it would have a bar yo enjoy a drink. Old building and old room. Plugs were loose. Great location though.
- 4/5
The staff was friendly and very helpful! We enjoyed every interaction with the staff! The bathroom door did not latch shut and was on a wheel system and would open randomly which was awkward at times and no bathroom fan made for a stinky time when any one went.
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
Bathroom door didn’t close, it was broken
- 5/5
It was good
- 3/5
Location is perfect, however hotel is very outdated.

- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff everyone very happy to assist me and my family from the second we arrive to the last moment at check out and get our car. Also location location location!
- 2/5
The bathroom not clean and reception very rude. The breakfast we pay for is not real breakfast.
- 2/5
The hotel description said air conditioning included but it’s not. After complaining 3x about the 82 degree room we had and what we thought was a broken air conditioner, the hotel engineer came to our room and explained only heaters were in each room, not air conditioning. In fact, the hotel does NOT have air conditioning. He suggested we request a box fan to cool the room down. That took 2 requests. This visit was in December and even with the windows cracked open, it was uncomfortable. In addition, the barn door to our restroom wouldn’t stay closed. Apparently it’s a common problem in the renovated rooms. The hot water was hit or miss too. The last day we ran out of toilet paper so had to go find a maid who quickly gave me a roll. Any time a complaint is given to the front desk, they tell you they’ll send someone to the room to fix it. They never told us there isn’t air conditioning or offered a fan as a solution.
- 5/5
The rooms were nice and clean.
- 4/5
Clean room but it was old.
- 4/5
Great location. Clean rooms.
- 3/5
The staff was incredible. The hotel room was super loud. Everything you hear in Times Square can be heard with the windows closed. The roll up shades were broken and the decor was cheap. The shower-nope.
- 3/5
Tiles broken in bathroom. Shower did not work properly. No place to put luggage.
- 2/5
The rooms were awful. Not just outdated, disgusting. I traveled with other family members. They were on a higher floor and it was completely different than my rooms. It was like we were in different hotels. I also book 1 room with 2 beds however they didn't have that and stated we could have adjoining rooms. I said no problem. The rooms were not adjoining, rather across the hall from each other. If they served breakfast, I wouldn't know. I couldn't wait to leave. Thank goodness we were out for the majority of the stay. Do not recommend unless you are staying on floor 22 or 21 and even then I would still reconsider. The street noise is very loud and the rooms feel like there is no air circulation.
- 5/5
Good
- 2/5
The stay was fine but check in was difficult because they didn’t have us in their system. The worst part is when we got home the hotel charged us an additional fee of $1200+ and no one will return my phone calls or answer the phone it has been over a week now.
- 1/5
Awful hotel water
- 5/5
I did not have a breakfast, but the room was very clean and the staff were very nice.
- 3/5
Hotel in process of updating rooms. My room was not in great condition, ripped wallpaper and chipped furniture but as I was just literally showering and sleeping it’s was fine
- 1/5
Old
- 1/5
From the smell to the service, terrible experience
- 5/5
Location. Staffing was excellent. Room was clean
- 4/5

- 3/5
The staff were very friendly and courteous, but the hot water didn't work all that well and the key card lock to my room did not function, meaning that the first time I left my room, my things were totally vulnerable had anyone pulled the door handle.
- 5/5
The cleanliness the comfort and the location and friendly staff
- 1/5
Rooms did not match the photos online at all. The standard rooms were a completely misrepresented by Expedia. The aesthetics of the room aside, the rooms were dirty, wallpaper peeling, drips coming from the calling down the door, and stained extremely old mattresses.
- 3/5
Bagel was hard in the morming and the room just seem run down, carpets could be cleaned, for the price i feel like it could have been more updated
- 2/5
The Good: Location is great! A few blocks from Times Square. Lots of great restaurants around and a short walk to a subway station. The bed was clean and comfortable. The Bad: The room was in significant need of repair. There were open wires sticking out of the wall, Wall paper was peeling, and ceiling was chipped and bubbling. There was water underneath the bathtub, so it felt like you were standing on a water bed when you showered. The staff were fine, but I wouldn't call them friendly. Didn't help that when we first arrived to the hotel, one of the managers was yelling at and berating the front desk clerks for giving out free room upgrades. Not a friendly atmosphere to be welcomed with. I know NYC at Christmas is expensive, but for $600/night, I expected more. We will not be staying here again. I would much rather pay $50-$100/night more and stay elsewhere.
- 4/5
The room was clean but had a smell to it of musty mildew. The staff was great very kind and
- 1/5
The room had paper thin walls and you could hear everything from every side. The bathroom was below par and the restroom door did not slide shut. The location was great, I just wish the hotel was!
- 1/5
Apparently you need to request a premium room to get one of the renovated rooms that they show in all the pictures! I had mold in the bathroom, peeling wallpaper, the dirtiest carpet, a heater that kept us up it was so loud and had to be turned to 76 to even blow warm air. Location is great, but they also don’t valet. You have to bring your car to the garage around the corner….$144 for 36 hours!.
- 2/5
Paint peeling off ceiling in bathroom and I’m not sure what was going on with the bathtub the bottom of it moved when showering.
- 2/5
- 1/5
The rooms are very ran down and old. The carpet in our room was lifted and wallpaper falling off of the walls. The bathroom ceiling was black in color.
- 4/5
Stayed in a room not renovated yet. It was pretty dated and clearly in need of work. Made the stay feel like I was staying in a 2 or 3 star hotel. The room was clean. The location was AMAZING!
- 3/5
1. The thermostat was just for show. The first two nights our room was freezing. They sent a tech up who turned on the hvac because apparently it was just off. Then the heat blew the whole last night regardless of the temp we set so we cooked. Made it pretty miserable. 2. The elevators were so slow and we waited forever every time we wanted to leave or return.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent. ALL Staff was very helpful. begining with checking in and the Door Attendants were outstanding with guiding us
- 3/5
The room was not what was advertised! Checked in at front desk and was given keys to a room that had someone staying there already. Second room there was plenty of space but the photos showed glass door bathrooms nicely remodeled when I got there tub shower with mold. We had to change to a third room on the second night because the ac/heater was leaking water which got on my luggage and clothes. Feels like the “upgrade” we got was the same as the first.
- 4/5
Only one drawback paper, thin walls. You can hear your neighbor and noise on hallway. Aside from that place is perfect.
- 1/5
Deplorable! Should have been condemned. Check in was so unorganized. We waited 45 minutes to store our bags and pre-check in. When we came to get our rooms, the credit card processor wasn’t working and we waited another 30 minutes even though we had given our credit card earlier. Prepaid breakfast was more expensive than getting limited items a la carte. There was no shower curtain in the room the tiles in the tub were falling off the wall. Hair, mold, and dirty tissues on the floor. The TV didn’t work. Heat and phone didn’t work. We couldn’t get extra blankets. The pictures had been removed from the wall. There water stains and holes in the wall throughout the room. The light fixtures didn’t work. The list goes on. I was embarrassed that I booked these rooms for my traveling companions.
- 3/5
Good room, decent view. They're communication is top notch. 3 stars because we couldn't log into the WIFI, room always felt cold, we were on the top floor so that's something to consider, but heater would reset when we would try to heat the room up. We didn't have hot water one morning because of work being done in the area. The location is hard to beat for the price. Would stay again for the right price.
- 1/5
I was told that the only difference was that the room was not remodeled. It was a crap show. The dresser drawers were broke and could not use it. The table with the TV was broke, paint peeling, fire detector was not there just a place for it. The floors were filthy. It was the worst room I have ever been given at a hotel. I would not recommend this place even if they remodel. Customer service is not a priority here. The only positive was when we asked for an extra blanket, they brought one. The blanket was not warm, it was like a hospital one. Do not waste your money. Upon research, I read that if you book with expedia or any other 3rd party this is what they do. You will be downgraded with no recourse.
- 1/5
We were locked out of our room for 30 to 45 minutes with my autistic nonverbal son. I didn’t understand he was ready for bed and exhausted for our 10 hour flight. They just sat us in the lobby made no accommodations. Then we went to our room. The beds were broken and worn down had a weird smell so we moved to a different room for it just to be a little better but where is the whole walls were molded falling apart if you touch them wall cover, coming off of the walls no way to turn the heat down TV remote half the elevators were not working We ended up checking out three days four days early.
- 3/5
The room was so old. It was still cold even with the heater. Our faucet was broken but they fixed immediately so that's great. The room was terrible to be honest but it's spacious and the location is perfect so we can't really complain as we really wanted to be walking distance everywhere and if that's what you're aiming for then by all means you can book this hotel. It's basic hotel but the customer service at the front desk is superb!
- 3/5
Room thermostat batteries dead as was the telephone. New mattress was necessary. Hotel needs work.

The room was a disgrace. Peeling wall paper, dirty/dingy carpet (hallway too), old/worn out furniture, mold (or something) in the bathroom, peeling/chipping on the door int he bathroom. When you stood in the tub/shower you felt like you were going to drop to the floor below. For the money I spent on this hotel I expected so much better. I was very disappointed.

We stayed on the newly

Rose Jean was very kind and helpful upon checking in. The doormen were very personable and helpful. They went out of their was to take care of the guests.

Alot, number one the balcony was filthy a sheet from whoever was on couch they was food boxes at there on the couch, the heat didnt work, the fridge froze everything, the plug in wouldnt hold a plug in to keep to charge , the tub plu was broke, the tiolet paper holder was broke, room smelled horrible, the door lock would work half the time u try it gi red and had to wait 10 min try again and eventuallyit work. , they could change us rhey was full location good, breakfast nasty amd get one peice of fruit, and one pastery and bottle juice for high price
- 1/5
The photos on hotels.com did not accurately show how the room would look! Our room was very outdated, and we had to ask for the bathroom to be cleaned multiple times. You’re website had them listed as reserve now, pay later, but they charged me for one day two days before check in, which I did not authorize. When I called the hotel (3 different times) no one ever answered, and I messaged them on the app and no one ever responded! I’ll never stay at this hotel again! Make sure your app is accurate also! This was a misrepresentation of what I thought I was paying for!
- 1/5
Rooms not as advertised. Disgusting actually the only good thing was location. Shower had soft spot, dust on vents, toilet clogged, tile broken in bathroom, half the outlets didn’t work. Keys didn’t work for 2 days. I had to go down and get new ones every day
- 3/5
Hotel needs renovation (just old rooms) but overall a decent review due to the location - PERFECT!
- 2/5
Staff was great! The room was outdated and very bland for the price. No microwave or refrigerator which was surprising. Great location.
- 2/5
We had one of the newer renovated rooms but there were only two very small bedside lights that were barely hanging off the wall and very dim. One small piece of pretty crappy furniture. No additional lighting - the room was extremely dark. Each day we had to run the water for about 10 minutes to get 'warm' water and that was on the hottest setting in the shower. The beds were not great - sleep-able but not that good. One night the thermostat did not work so I called down for help and they said 'do you really need it working?" - I had to tell them 'yes, I am cold" (it was like 28 degrees outside that day). Other than that one call, the staff were very nice. We had to ask for a roll of toilet paper about once a day. Not sure why we just couldn't get enough for the week (3 people for 6 days. only had 1.25 rolls when we arrived) and they didn't want to give us more than a roll a day. The only thing - it was a great location. No free coffee which is a bummer to me. $3 for a cup each morning available downstairs. The room does have a Keurig in it. The TV worked but no lighting was annoying. Thankfully we could crack the window when it got stuffy inside and the blinds worked well. Bathroom was nice and clean. The hotel in general was clean. Just need work on improving those rooms. I don't know that they had enough staff for the volume of people coming and going in this hotel and I'm guessing it goes through some major wear and tear on a daily basis.
- 4/5
The staff is amazing and very friendly!! It’s great location.
- 1/5
Didn’t have hot water for 2 days. We kept having to get new key cards because they never worked. The sink didn’t drain and it took forever for them to service the room.
- 5/5
Very convenient location and friendly, prompt staff.
- 2/5
Room and facility run down. Disappointed.
- 3/5
Good location if you like Times Square.
- 4/5
Great location, friendly staff, room was comfortable albeit slightly outdated but I know they’re working to update things.
- 2/5
Bedroom looked deteriorated and tve air condition was not working well
- 1/5
Room was canceled and when they rebooked me price doubled. Found cheaper hotel elsewhere
- 1/5
Run down.
- 2/5
We were disappointed with our stay. The room was very old and poorly maintained, with visible mold and dust throughout. Overall, the quality was far below expectations. Would not recommend
- 3/5
Staff was great. Fixed everything that was wrong from day one. Excellent service. However, the room was stuffy. Had to keep window open the whole time. Carpet was very nasty and stinky. Definitely needs to be renovated.
- 2/5
Hotel needs an upgrade. Rooms, hallway, bed, moldy bathrooms. Staff was decent. Would not stay there again, especially with SO many options in the area, but it served it's purpose. We stayed in room 1418. Very obstructed view of broadway. Especially when I specifically asked for a room with a decent view. For God sakes, i was onky staying for 1 night.
- 1/5
We stayed there over Labor Day weekend. The room was a dump. The ceiling paint was peeling, there was mold in the shower, you could feel all the springs in the mattress, and to top it off, we saw a rat scurry under a door. The hotel did comp the room for the night we saw the rat, but the hotel was booked, so we were stuck in an overpriced room for two more nights. Hotel management said the hotel was under renovation, so hopefully things are better for future guests. The only positive was that the location was fantastic.
- 4/5
Too old rooms
- 5/5
Nice comfort centered
- 5/5
One of the beds was in bad condition. Otherwise the room was comfortable
- 4/5
Wonderful greeters. Breakfast host, I believe his name was William was very nice and helpful with breakfast and even ensuring things for us were great throughout the whole stay.
- 5/5
Thank you old hotel at good people

Be warned! This hotel makes no exceptions for travelers who lose their identification! My driver’s license is currently being renewed and i do not travel stateside with my passport. I do keep a high definition scan of it on my phone however, in case I need backup. Neither my paper Interim driver’s lic nor my passport scan satisfied thaa was e people and ai was turned out to the street. When I called hotels.com they in turn called the hotel and NOBODY ANSWERED their phones. Who does that? This hotel is an absolute mess. BEWARE!!!
- 1/5
Disgusting rooms and bathroom. peeling wallpaper, no curtain on shower.
- 3/5
Did not have breakfast. Rooms need updating. For the price I paid.
- 3/5
They are undergoing a renovation so I’m sure the room I stayed in will be better soon, but it felt like I was staying at a cheap motel. Everything was run down and the tub didn’t drain well. Paint chipped and rusted, ancient HVAC and it smelled old. Great view of the Ed Sullivan theater and an excellent location for Broadway, Times Square and Central Park. I would definitely stay there again because of the location. Hopefully next time the room will be nicer
- 1/5
The room was really old and creepy, the fountain in the bathroom was leaking. Also my husband went to get breakfast and a guy was very mean to him, we will never go back to that place. On my personal opinion the guy must be very racist. I want to express just a word about this, "nobody should judge people because of their color, nationality or the way the style".
- 2/5
- we couldn’t save our Togo meals Tub issues - had maintenance come to fix & the tub still flooded. Multiple Card issues - Door wouldn’t take card so I had to go get new ones Overall ok stay, but Holiday ins feel better suited than this.
- 1/5
The coffee maker didn’t work. Lots of plastic components in the room (ie toilet seat, etc.) were cracked. The hotel was doing a reno: the hallways looked terrible.
- 1/5
There were people at front desk complaining about no hot water when i was checking in. Seems like many unhappy people and not enough check in staff. When i finally got to the counter, they said there was no confirmation from expedia - then that agent disappeared. I managed to check in after a 30 minutes+ wait.

- 1/5
Awful hotel
- 1/5
The room wasn’t what was showed on website I wasn’t happy with the room and extra chargers won’t be staying there again
- 4/5
The desk staff was outstanding especially Senka. Unfortunately, the restaurant and lobby were under construction, so we weren’t able to take advantage of those amenities. Also, its important to note that the entire hotel was on heat and our room was up to 75 degrees and we didn’t know until check out that we could have asked for the AC to be turned on so it was a very hot night.
- 3/5
The photos are not the standard rooms and the photo of the lobby is not the actual lobby. The beds are not comfortable, the bathroom was not well-maintained. The entire hotel is dated and the only consolation is its location. It's close to everything you want to go.
- 5/5
We were in the floor 20th. New room. Very clean. Our stay was great
- 3/5
Location and shower pressure are the only 2 things I can recommend, which goes a long way in Manhattan. If you're not spending much time in the room (which you shouldn't be in the heart of NYC) this is a budget option. The rooms are quite outdated and the property shows wear from floor to ceiling. But the staff are friendly & efficient, so no marks against them. It did feel safe and the folks monitoring the door are friendly and you can tell they are keeping their eyes out for Trouble.
- 4/5
This is an older hotel, but that’s perfectly fine since that typically means there is way more space in the room (especially for New York standards). The washroom could be a bit more spacious since the room itself was big and it could definitely be upgraded. The AC didn’t seem to work or it was on settings that were already set for the entire hotel. Not a big deal as we were able to open the windows slightly and get fresh air. For most people they may not want to hear all of the NYC “noise”, but we like that. Location is great and is only a few minutes walk to Times Square, Rockefeller, Bryant Park and a bunch of other popular touristy areas. Easy access and walking distance to lots of different subway stations. Area felt safe and there are lots of options for food and drugstores (for those snack runs). Staff was friendly and the doormen were extremely helpful. Price was also great for the area, so that was a plus. Would definitely stay here again!
- 3/5
The heater in the room didn’t work initially and overall environment was not peaceful. It was noise all night long whether it’s from guest as well as staff talking in the late night hours such as one 2 AM, hearing the footsteps up and down the hall because of the flooring, hearing peoples conversations and rooms across the hall down the hall and next-door, the bell on the elevator and every door opening and closing. Not peaceful.
- 3/5
There was no ac and u couldnt open the windows. Finding the auto shades to block out the constantly flashing rhings of the ny skyline took forever. And the blackout auto shades didnt work at all.* also nobody wants auto shades. Curtains would have worked fine. We were on the 18th floor( which was an "updated" room). There is no fan in the bathroom so user beware. The people were really nice. Great location for broadway and late night shows. No lobby for people watching. The bed was really comfortable and big. We got the king.
- 4/5
Location is beyond perfect, but the Hotel needs renovation, ASAP!! Is old, I was told that the Hotel was in the process for renovations, staff was great! All in all, good hotel
- 3/5
My suggestion : if you like it for its location, book without breakfast and spend that breakfast moneys into a near by restaurant (plenty of options around).
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff were super helpful
- 1/5
The room was terrible. Mold in bathroom, pealing wallpaper, hair in the shower, stained carpet. On top of all of that the AC didn’t work - went down to the front desk after midnight to try to get it turned on or move to another room, they were rude and offered no help.
- 3/5
Hotel was under construction for renovation so there weren’t working restrooms in the lobby. Air conditioning unit in our room on the 8th floor wasn’t working so we had to open the window. Of course, Manhattan traffic at night was loud so that we didn’t leave it open all night. On our check out day, we found a huge cockroach crawling up the shower walls. Other than that, the staff was friendly, especially the bellhops who held our bags in storage while we explored the city.
- 2/5
Had issues with the heating system which was quickly resolved by the staff.
- 3/5
Give Gene and the rest of the doormen a raise! They were the best part of our stay. The hotel itself is subpar. Don’t be fooled by the photos on the website, they are very inaccurate. The doormen made up for the lack of service from the other staff members.
- 2/5
The staff and location were absolutely great but the room they gave us looked nowhere near like the picture. We had "frazzled" carpet, mold in the shower, a very broken lamp on the wall, other electrical items thrown together like it was in a barn. Too many more items to list really. If it's in 1 star condition just say so and let people choose if that's the conditions they want to stay in.
- 1/5
The room was very dirty and old . When asked they said since you have booked it on the second party app they cannot give new room . The room standard was not even for 1 star . They had better rooms but didnt give . Now this is making me think should i start booking directly and not through second party app like this . I tried to reach out hotel.co. but only the virtual customer care was available. It turned to be the worst trip. May be its cos i booked with the reward night . All the photos was mosleading on your site . people.com.treach
- 3/5
Room relatively clean, the hot water handle on sink did not work at all… just spun around, so no
- 2/5
It was not clear what the remodeling meant beforehand so when we got there we found no restaurant (had to have a grab and go breakfast standing up), no seating at the lobby, and the room was so hot we had to crack open the window on our 18th floor room and have a fan brought up.
- 5/5
I did not experience the breakfast. I think there was only grab and go. Unable to comment on the area around the property. There was scaffolding outside.
- 5/5
The deafbolt lock didn't work. Problem with the television getting stations.
- 4/5
The air conditioner was not working properly
- 3/5
Old carpets, old bathrooms, stained woodwork. Bedding was clean and fresh
- 5/5
Excellent location.
- 1/5
not as advertised. was a complete dump. front desk staff not friendly. location was the only good thing.
- 5/5
Great experience.
- 2/5
Room was in bad condition, needing paint in several places. It had almost no available outlets and the heating air conditioning system did not work. Their solution to this was to open a window.
- 2/5
air conditioning, food options and other lobby amenities.
- 5/5
Clean room. Great staff and above all awesome location!
- 5/5
There was no lobby and construction going on.
- 3/5
I am scoring the room itself as a 3 out of 5 because it was not what I would have expected for the price we paid. The room temperature was a problem due to the air conditioner ducts being cleaned and we had to open the window to cool it off. Even though the room was old and in great need of updating, it was clean and had everything we needed. The staff was amazing and did everything they could to make our stay the best it could be. They are in the process of renovating so I would definitely go back again due to the staff.
- 2/5
El personal cuando se,realizo el check in fueron muy amables
- 1/5
Room was horrible and ugly; bed wasn't comfortable. Should've read the Yelp reviews before booking.
- 3/5
There was no breakfast offered.
- 2/5
Wallpaper peeling off the walls, carpets threadbare and tiles in bathroom floor broken
- 4/5
We did not eat there
- 3/5
Breakfast was not hot as advertised. Carpet was stained and dirty. Bathroom tile has mold.
- 4/5
We didn’t do the breakfast. The staff were very helpful, if we needed something they would get it to our room for when we got back from touring the city. They are trying to update the rooms, so some are done and some are not. The AC was cold. Hot water in the bathroom sink didn’t work, so we had to get it from the tub faucet if we wanted to wash our face. We had 2 queen beds and the beds were comfortable. Great location not far from The Rockefeller Center and Central Park.
- 2/5
The staff is great! The hotel is old and tired. A few floors have been renovated, so the rooms are better but still not great. We moved twice in a two night stay.
- 2/5
The room was neglected. Bed was sinking, sink was dripping water. No outlets close by the bed. Very old and outdated
- 5/5
Excellent stay and GR8 location! New renovated deluxe double queen rooms were quite comfortable although one night temp was a bit warm despite what thermostat was set at. Did not take any breakfasts at hotel so unable to provide feedback.
- 1/5
Room was terrible.
- 4/5
Overall a nice hotel. The phone in our room (1046) did not work and the pictures online are the planned renovations for the rooms, not what they actually look like. Otherwise it was nice.
- 3/5
The hotel is old and needs significant updating
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Convenient place to stay, especially if touring around Times Square. Very accessible to public transportation. Very good quality for the price.
- 1/5
Didn't I had my reservation and was waiting 20 minutes to check in. The rooms were dreadful and nothing like advertised. Very unclean with slow staff. I basically had to check in my own baggage and collect it myself. I travel a lot, and this would be among the two worst hotels I have ever stayed at.
- 2/5
The bathroom door doesn’t close and definitely should be replaced. The toilet flush doesn’t go back to it’s position and needed to be manually fixed. The sink has stains, no drain cover. There’s no bathroom available to use at the lobby for people checking in or coming back from going around NY. Stains in the wall and doors. The carpeting looks dirty.
- 3/5
The AC didnt work, staff had to come in and manually unplug it. They got ne a taxi to the airport and said it would be 120 usd, when we got to the airport he charged us 200.
- 1/5
The staff was very nice. Great location. This hotel has the potential to be great. But it needs a MAJOR MAJOR renovation. It is beyond outdated. It’s not dirty but it’s not clean.
- 5/5
Great location! Nice room.
- 2/5
Hotel need some serious maintenance . And renovation.
- 5/5
Did not have breakfast. Elevators were quick and always working. Room was great. Hotel showed some wear and tear
- 5/5
- 1/5
The walls and bathroom were filthy, and the smell of dampness and mold was overwhelming. I have included photos showing how disgusting the room was I immediately informed the hotel staff about these issues, yet nothing was done to address them. I was also forced to wait over four hours at check-in because their system was down. Despite all this, I was still charged for the stay and told I could not receive a refund. The room I received was not as described in the listing. I have attached photos that clearly show the unhygienic and unacceptable condition of the room.
- 4/5
Staff were fantastic but the standard rooms can do with little fixes to improve it by a mile. I think it would also be fair that the images not be so edited to looks so nice as it isn’t as much a reality
- 3/5
The room was incredibly outdated and did not meet expectations for the price--$350 for a room with cracked outlets, half painted chunks of objects and walls, and a hard bed. If the room was $100, I'd say it was a good deal. At the current price, I'd say it was exorbitantly overpriced. You're paying for location here, not quality.
- 2/5
Hotel is advertising new, crisp looking rooms but we got a very old room with very worn out furniture and the bathroom that hardly was keeping together. Before you book look at the pictures posted by the tourists. The only saving grace was that the staff somehow can keep it clean enough.
- 3/5
The place needs a renovation given the prices I paid. Great location.
- 5/5
I didn't know about breakfast it was not mentioned and I had to leave early so probably they did not have it ready ...but I'm not sure about that... it would have been nice to have a little snack first because food at the airport is expensive
- 2/5
Our reservation included continental breakfast. When we checked in, we were told that the restaurant was closed and the only option was a prepackaged pastry and coffee. When I talked to the manager about getting a refund for breakfast, he said that “this IS a continental breakfast”. He did not offer any refund and was incredibly rude and demeaning. Awful service for something that was clearly misrepresented.
- 1/5
At this time, I can say very little that is positive about this property. Unfortunately, it is NOTHING like what is advertised or photos online. DON'T USE THIS PROPERTY. It is under construction and not what's advertised... or they gave us one of the rooms innthe middle of renovations. Either way, it was NOT a premium room as advertised!
- 1/5
The sink was on very rusty legs, smoke alarm hanging off the wall, small room, outlet plates missing, dirty, wallpaper peeling off, phone wires bunched behind night stand, all for more than $300/night. It was gross. Asked for a receipt and got paper with only my deposit paid for which caused problems in getting reimbursed. I called the hotel front desk and let it ring for more than 1 hour. Each time it stopped ringing I redialed. 3+ times I could hear ambient noise when someone picked up the phone and then hung up to shut it up. After 72 min combined I quit. Who the hell is in charge of managing this hotel? It was the worse I've seen, including Motel 6. This place is a slum. I asked management to call me to discuss their failure.
- 5/5
We were able to check in early and the staff members were very friendly and helpful
- 3/5
For the price of these rooms I expected better. I know NYC is expensive and we were in Times Square but this place is completely run down. The carpet was frayed. The mattress should have been thrown out a year or more ago. The tub had water in between the liner and base of the tub so that it was like walking on a waterbed. The air/thermostat didn’t work properly. My favorite part was the bar of soap wedged behind the toilet to keep it from rocking. I wouldn’t stay here again. $350 plus taxes and fees for this is ridiculous.
- 3/5
Hotel location is very good but the building is very tired …it appears that renovations are planned but not evidenced yet. Room air conditioning was barely adequate and bathroom sink plug inoperable but a good walk-in shower and pretty good bed. Front door & reception staff were lovely
- 1/5
The property is OLD and OUTDATED in every area. The rooms are creepy and feels like bugs are crawling on you. The bathroom is “100” years old, and the tub feels like it’s sinking. I booked through Expedia so the hotel would not work we me on cancellation and a refund. Expedia gets millions of complaints about The Manhattan, and is supposed to refund all my money in 7-10 days, hopefully, they stand by their promise to do so. I was abled to get an 8 star hotel nearby for $100 cheaper per night.
- 4/5
Very nice stay. My only complaints were that I had t had to wait about 10 minutes before someone came to the reception desk to check me in (it was shortly after midnight), and the bathroom door to my room would not close. Everything else great.
- 3/5
Lobby small….. Good location, expensive for what it was.
- 5/5
Excellent service and attention.
- 3/5
The room was of a good size as advertised; however, the bathrooms were not in good condition. The sink was slowly draining and have rust/scales developing. They need to just do better cleanup on these after someone checks out, and if they can't get it in great condition, then replace the sinks and tubs, etc. No exhaust fans in the bathrooms, not sure why they think not having fan in the bathroom is good idea. The carpeting in the room was ok, but the hallways just falling apart. The room fan/ac is a little louder than normal. No refrigerator/microwave in the room for those who might be expecting this. The bathroom door outside the mirror was cracked. I think they have the idea that these rooms are just for sleeping and then going outside to hang out. This might be the reason for the conditions of the rooms and the hallways. The staff at the front desk had your typical New York "don't give a f" attitude; they're like robots who don't seem to care about you. Basically, customer service sucks. The guy serving breakfast was awesome, though. People helping at the door are bored, too many of them hanging around and look unprofessional, except for one who stayed professional and kept his posture by the podium and offered help and suggestion. The rest of the time I passed by there, they just hang around blocking the door, gossiping or whatever they are doing, talking loud, etc. The contracted/partnered parking isn't an in/out anytime parking; it's a one-time deal, and the staff rude.
- 1/5
This is your classic bait and switch. The room I was assigned was absolutely NOTHING like the photos that have posted. It’s not worth even half of what they are charging. The outlet was hanging out of the wall, carpet looks like it hasn’t been changed since the 80’s and is ripped in multiple spots, mattresses are the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on in my entire life. There was zero water pressure in the dirty shower. I originally booked for 3 nights and checked out after night 1 to go to a different hotel. I would never book here again. The staff was very friendly, though.
- 4/5
I especially loved the staff housekeeper name Enisa! Everyday Enisa made sure I had what I needed and was very kind to me. I am Appreciative of her attentiveness and wanting me to have a great experience. THANK YOU ENISA!!!!! Mely
- 5/5
Really nice place to stay, all very clean and the price was great I got a good surprise staying here.
- 3/5
When checking in at 1 am, it took 45 minutes to get our room key and there was only 1 person in line in front of us. The staff was rude to people and after being told our room was available, it wasn't and we were put in a room that was from the 1970s rather than being elegant and modern. Highly disappointed as we had to check out and check back in a 7 pm the next day while they were unsure they could put us in a newly renovated room that we paid for.
- 3/5
It's not like the photos
- 4/5
Reasonably sized room but decoration tired and could do with some TLC and attention to detail.
- 1/5
the price was way to expensive for this hotel and room. I think it was the worst hotel I have ever been. what a shame for a New York hotel.
- 3/5
A/C in room wasn’t staying cool, asked it be looked at, was cool for one evening and went back to not being cool again. Mold inside the air vent, mold in the shower. For a “newly renovated room” meh…. Staff was nice, lobby was always jammed packed due to the recent renovations. If you want fridge or microwave need to ask for that. If you check in early and room isn’t ready (which is like any other place) either stick around or plan to wait 30 plus minutes bc EVERYONE comes back to check status of rooms around the same time.
- 4/5
The location is the real gem here! For the price point it was great to be walking distance from Times Square. Every night you can go and your there within 5 min. The hotel itself was not the best. It had a mouldy smell walking in. Had an Ick using the bathroom because there was no fan hence the mouldy smell. The walls and corners were a bit warped n gross. The heating system also dirty. The staff however was kind enough to give us a higher floor because k had noted it was our first time there and was kind enough to check us in earlier. All in all if on a budget this is a good option, if you can splurge maybe another
- 3/5
Staff was great, a/c didn’t work, ro
- 1/5
Bed service!
- 3/5
Room was dated with need of repair and up keep. Mold was present and bathtub warped with finish coming off. Pictures misleading on condition.
- 2/5
Facilities need to be upgraded. Very antiquated. Room is dim as lights were busted. No ref too. Our AC was not functioning. Price is not that cheap. No lobby.
- 4/5
We would definitely recommend The Manhattan in Times Square to others for their renovated/updated Premier rooms and will definitely return upon another visit.
- 2/5
No self room climate. And could hear the next room all night.

I asked for a hotel manager regarding a situation; however, no manager came out to speak with me. Instead, the receptionist Diane tried to help me. I appreciated her but wanted to speak with the manager. And, good luck in trying to call down to the front desk or the hotel operator, no one picks up the phone! The worst part, the walls are way too thin! You can hear clear conversations and other personal enjoyments coming from the other rooms! Not so happy with that especially if you are trying to sleep. It is also extremely disturbing! Speaking of sleep, our door kept making weird noises like someone was tapping on our door, we would check but no one was there. The tapping would continue for sometime every night the whole time we were there. This prevented us from falling asleep easily since it is not so easy to rest thinking someone is right outside of your door. Another bothersome thing was that they never left you enough toilet tissue so when you ran out you had to call room service (again they do not pick up) or when you see someone from the hotel you have to ask for more tissue and they would only bring one roll at a time! If they had only left us a few rolls like normal hotels do there wouldn’t be an issue! The only saving grace was Josephine from the front desk. She was the BEST! I do not recommend this hotel.
