Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. The location is also a highlight, being close to restaurants, bars, and the Brooklyn cruise terminal. However, some guests have complained about extra fees for parking and early check-in, as well as a lack of amenities such as microwaves and irons in the rooms.

Hidden gem. Perfect if attending an event at the Liberty Warehouse. A continental breakfast is included. Rooms although on the small size have everything you need from blow dryer coffee fridge etc. Whole establishment very clean. Staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend

It’s very simple. Location was (30 min ) far from time square where we were planning our activities and uber was expensive (over $100 ) going to main attractions, and ($150) going to the airport. At the end, traffic and cost, I should’ve stayed closer to the attractions I was planning to go. It is an old property. Bathtub titles were very moldy, so the appearance was not too clean. Bed was comfortable enough.
- 2.5/5
Location was very convenient for us. The room and surrounding rooms were so incredibly loud it was tough to sleep. Between the acoustics of the hallway hearing other guests to the water randomly rushing through the pipes at all hours, we struggled to sleep even with ear plugs. We were a basement floor room, perhaps higher rooms are less noisy.

Very clean, very helpful front desk staff. Easy walk to QM2 boarding. Great restaurants nearby. Lift wait.
- 4.5/5
The staff was outstanding! The hotel renovation made it so pleasant! There really is no grande lobby, but the rooms are nice and the cleaning staff is on top of it. It is not a “Grande Hotel but we were treated like rock stars. We would stay here again without question! Nothing really!
- 2/5
The location was okay for my purposes. It was unbelievably loud, day and night. Doors were slamming and could hear everything. I had to ask four times for my toilet to get fixed and it still never was. I would call downstairs for thing I needed and no one would answer—this happened many times. I had to call down to get my room cleaned twice while I was there. For as expensive as the stay was, it was deeply disappointing.

The property was in a really wonderful location which made it easy to walk around Brooklyn. The area felt safe and there were restaurants close by, along with a corner store, which made it easy to pick up snacks and toiletries (if needed). The property was clean and not too big, and the staff were lovely. The elevator was slow, but that’s the only thing that was a very minor inconvenience. I took the stairs 90% of the time.

I was a solo traveler so for me it was important that the hotel felt calm, secure and safe since the city can be so fast and overstimulating at times. Red Hook is a great neighborhood but I knew I was prepared to citibike in and out of the area for the weekend to see a sick friend near prospect park. It was a calming and comfortable room to return back to and it was nice to snag a breakfast bag with basic items before running out into the city. I paid extra for a city view room but there really wasn’t much of a view, not sure if they other rooms face a brick wall but definitely would have preferred a partial city view over no window. The hallway smelled strongly of weed on occasion.

However, in the hotel itself we had quite a few problems. The coffee machine in our room was not working, and, when we told the receptionist about it, we were told that maintenance people would be available much later. The next morning it still wasn’t fixed. Another problem was the air conditioner. No matter how we changed the settings on it, it was blowing very cold air, and it was doing it very loudly. Didn’t have good night sleep because of it. The included breakfast is a paper bag with a few items which we would not choose ourselves. There was no juice or eggs or anything hot except for coffee. I would like to mention that one of the receptionists, Xavier, was very nice and helpful.

Advertised as a "boutique hotel," and defined as a small-capacity hotel providing personalized service and considered more trendy and intimate than regular hotels with ability to ensure that color, shape and textures work together. They may also have focus on nature, environment, cuisine, history, etc. Didn't find any of that here. First day of breakfast, there was hot water, but NO tea bags. Second day of breakfast, bagels, but no cream cheese. They did come with cream cheese on them, but it was always caked and cracked and dried; disgusting. A plastic container contained a half dozen or so very small pieces of fruit laying near the bottom. We asked for a wake up call; it wasn't received. We asked for a cab to be ordered one time; it was not done. They always had an excuse! We then set our own alarms and scheduled our own cabs. My leg was swollen; I asked for ice. I was told I'd find it in our freezer. Only empty trays. Another staff member said I was given wrong info. Not even a plastic cup in the bathroom! I had left my purse in a cab that dropped us off one night. VERY upset, I gave my name, room and phone number and STRESSED to the employee if the driver calls or shows up to contact me! I called the desk early next morning to inquire & the employee knew NOTHING about this! Later in the a.m. the driver called the hotel twice and was given an incorrect phone number for me, EVEN THOUGH I provided it! I did receive an unexpected email from hotel to call driver. Boutique?

Great location for port terminal access, clean, friendly staff, safe, good size room Breakfast was disappointing and inadequate. Coffee was in a vacuum pump thermos and kept running out. Elevator was slow.
- 3/5
Staff were wonderful! The breakfast was a bag of goodies handed to you, not a buffet. That's OK but I got some items I don't eat so unfortunately it went to waste. The TV was odd. Many of the channels would not come in. The room was clean and noise was not a problem. The toilet kept sticking and you had to remember to jiggle the handle. Convenient to the cruise ship dock and restaurants were within walking distance.

Housekeeper nice. Breakfast not as shown on internet. False advertising! Linens not clean; heavily stained. Should be bleached. Dried blood spots on comforter. Front desk people rude and not helpful. Very expensive for what it was. Small lobby and unequipped breakfast room which was locked after 9:30 am.
- 3/5
Good little hotel in Brooklyn with clean rooms and reasonable amenities. The breakfast is pre-fixed and carry out which was easy. Nothing fancy but enough. Xavier was so helpful at check in giving me a sense of location and options for local taxi. Only one elevator, which required the housekeeping staff to use the same elevator as guest. Not always convenient.
- 5/5
Know that this hotel is not filled with 5 star amenities. To call it simply bare-bones is to do it a disservice. Rooms were clean and well-presented. It did its job and excelled in that job. Staff was friendly and helpful. Seemingly a popular destination for travelers arriving a day early for a cruise departure. A simple serviceable breakfast. We enjoyed our stay

Staff was super friendly and even recommended places to visit and eat nearby. Hotel room was spacious and train station was somewhat nearby as well. Would definitely recommend. :)

Hotel was comfortable and clean. We'll positioned for travel within New York area ,especially using the local ferry into city. Staff were very helpful Breakfast good be better.

Spacious Room and Friendly Staff. Easy access to Public Transport 5 min from Bus Station & 17 min from Subway. Food places nearby. Breakfast provided. Being allocated a Room in the basement without WiFi was not ideal , kept on contacting the property and according to them there is nothing that they could do. I had to catch up on work and had to go up and work in the main reception area where Guest were passing with no privacy. Consider installing WiFi extenders for your Basement rooms , WiFi is not a nice to have especially when hosting travellers far from their home. There is also a fine print about a 10% deposit that wasn't communicated which left me out of pocket.

- 3.5/5
The staff was friendly and responsive. The beds were very comfortable. Red hook is really peaceful and quiet. I travel constantly for work and your hotel has, by far, the loudest hallway doors I have ever experienced. The door slamming and wall shaking repeatedly startled me awake every single day for a week. It became the single reason I would not return to this hotel. Which is honestly a shame, because your staff was lovely and the rooms themselves were otherwise nice and quiet. But the doors are a genuine dealbreaker. I would strongly encourage the hotel to look into adjusting the door closers, adding dampening, or whatever maintenance solution is needed. This is likely one of the biggest reasons guests do not return, whether they explicitly say it or not. To add to this, the rooms have metal desk chairs on hardwood floors. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable to sit in for work, and the metal scraping against the floor is incredibly loud. I repeatedly heard chairs dragging from surrounding rooms throughout my stay. Both of these issues seem very practically fixable and would likely lead to a significantly better guest experience and more returning guests.
- 3/5
I really my stay. The bed was very comfortable, the TV was great, and the convenience of having breakfast available. Overall, it was a pleasant stay I was disappointed to find stains on the bed sheets and had to request completely new bedding, which was unpleasant. Aside from that issue, the stay was generally okay.

The hotel is very convenient to the cruise port—about a 5 minute walk. Walking is quicker than a cab because of the traffic pattern. Lots of good eating options in the neighborhood. Hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff is helpful and friendly. The only complaint is their weird breakfast set-up: rather than the usual buffet option, they offer a one-size-fits-all bagged breakfast.

The location is great, good access to Ted Hook. The facilities are fine, if a little spartan for the price. The breakfast was pathetic. We went to the dining area at about 8:30 and there were just paper bags with plastic-packaged food—sugary yoghurt, a little fruit, a white-bread ham sandwich, hard little packaged bread things, etc. there was one piece of fresh-made quiche, as if maybe there had been a fuller spread of food earlier. Perhaps all the good food was already eaten? The staff person was unapologetic. We stayed in the past and remembered a much better breakfast. Also, the hotel needs to provide a place to park bicycles safely.
- 5/5
Comfortable bed with nice and clean linen. Breakfast was disappointing and no provision for gluten free. Inexpensive and ideal for the hop to pier 12 for Cunard ship. Good restaurants only a couple of blocks away

Breakfast was given to us in a bag. Location is questionable.

I wanted to be close to where my children and grandchildren live in Brooklyn. The property was located near them. People were coming in late at night, talking loudly in the hallway and allowing their room door to slam. The room doors have no soft close mechanism on them.

Location near Brooklyn Cruise Port Although my stay was fully prepaid when checking in I was told they needed a hold on my credit card which would be lifted at checkout this in fact took 7 days. Also as they have nothing for you to charge to the room I found this unnecessary.

All was wonderful till the end. Good location by many great spots for food, drink, and waterfront. Unfortunately at the end of out visit my Mom fell out front hitting her glasses, nose, teeth, hand, knee. When I asked for an ice pack or first aid kit at the front desk, they had nothing. An empty kit and apparently no ice machine.
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly! We couldn’t check in early but they were able to hold our bags! When we came back during check in time, they had already taken our bags into our room for us! Hotel was clean and stocked. Only thing I would say is the elevator is super slow and for security reasons, I wish it would make guests scan their hotel key to use the elevator. But nonetheless, I would definitely stay here again!
- 3/5
A hamburger bun smeared with cream cheese. Room was comfortable and clean, hotel is convenient to the neighborhood we were visiting. Staff was pleasant, except for the sullen breakfast room guy, but who can blame him, he has a thankless job. We stayed her two years ago and the breakfast was a pretty nice buffet with a variety of tasty and healthy options. No more. Again: worst hotel breakfast ever. Fortunately, there are some great bakeries and coffee joints nearby.
- 4/5
Breakfast was a bit underwhelming and elevator was super slow. Other than that, everything else was good.
- 5/5
The staff there are super nice! Everything was spotless in the room and the beds are very comfortable. Love this place!
- 2.5/5
The breakfast room in the basement didn't even have hot water for tea, which was disappointing and weird. This is a pretty basic ingredient that should be available. It's also a strange, remote space without any windows. Also, the bathroom in the basement (the only public restroom) didn't have any toilet paper or any soap!
- 4/5
Location and away from the crowds of Manhattan. Very accessible for the NYC ferry service Nothing
- 4/5
This is my second stay at this hotel. My lives down the street, so it's a no brainer. We were only there over night. The staff member who checked us in was VERY nice, informative, courteous & just a pleasant person. Customer service at it's finest. In that field you should be a service to the customer & he was. We didn't eat breakfast, however, the first time we stayed, it was delicious. A variety of items to choose from. Overnight trip, the hotel served it's purpose.

The room The service attitude, the breakfast. No tea or water or juice. Only coffee. Muffin had ham, so could not be eaten, was also stale. I could feel the wires of the bed. Minimal hospitality.

Check in was very easy with the email the hotel sent out prior to arrival. The two bed room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was equipped with all the amenities. The breakfast served in the morning was a full meal consisting of eggs, sausage, potatoes, and fruit. The location is walkable to the ferry station that can take you into Manhattan. The location is very industrial, so not many options for dinner. Depending on the time of day, the internet can be weak. The breakfast area is dull and depending on the staff can be rude (maybe that's a Brooklyn thing).

Breakfast did not meet expectations for a $400 per night hotel. Coffee maker in room not working properly and room curtains needed repair. Elevator very very slow.
- 2.5/5
The breakfast was very much a disappointment. We did not expect a michelín star restaurant level breakfast but there was not much offered at all. Coffee was cold. Also there was only one light switch in the bathroom that also turn on tbe fan. Fan is great but you do not need it every time when you use the bathroo., especially at night. It could wake up the whole floor.
- 4/5
We liked the location of the hotel -- right on the border of two great neighborhoods. We like the bed -- very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was drab. There was a lot of noise in the hallways in teh middle of the night and early in the morning.
- 2.5/5
Breakfast is awful and not worth having.
- 3/5
The second time we had to pay much more because it was the weekend, but our room was crappier. Our sheets were stained and the bathroom light made so much noise when it was turned on. It was obnoxious. The elevator is the slowest in existence. Convenience to the cruise port is the only good part of this hotel.
- 1.5/5
the room had a horrible smell that was annoying and not pleasant. The floors were not clean. the breakfast was over an hour late, it was premade and then warmed slightly in a microwave. The staff did not show up to prepare the food and two men that have never opened the kitchen arrive at the time the doors were supposed to open. It was very chaotic and did not even come close to meeting my expectations. They didn't know how to make the coffee and I am pretty sure violated the health and food division for New York as they had never prepared for the breakfast. I give the score an F and I am pretty sure others will do the same.
- 2.5/5
Great location for a cruise and it’s clean. We were in a cellar room which is where all the staff areas are. They are noisy and have no concerns for guests in these rooms. Yelling and loud talking at all hours especially in the very early mornings when they are gathering supplies.
- 1/5
Housekeeping g staff very good and friendly. Location accommodating Not up to my Hotel Standards for $250ish a night. Now I know I'm going to sound a bit of a nut case because I had an unbelievable experience. I travel the world frequently but never an experience like this. Just had to document and take pictures. More like a terrible hostile in a third world venue. Elevator never there when you call for it .....wait 10 minutes or take the stairwell. Elevator carpet not vacuumed for 4 days we were there. Breakfast was an embarrassment....Had better breakfast in a work camp! Cold and unappealing breakfast handed to you in a cardboard box. Little to no breakfast choices. Hair in bathtub and bath towels. Empty bathroom shampoo dispenser. Toilet bowl glaze worn out . To add insult to injury on morning of departure preparing shower and big glob of crap looking stuff came out of faucet. We had to ask for an iron and when it came it had fabric stain on it which prevented its use. 25 dollars to park your car which I knew about before hand. The good news was the porters and housekeepers were pleasant and not like the unfriendly front desk staff. Hotel needs an attitude adjustment.

Location was convenient but that's the best I can say. The rest I can say are negatives. More like a terrible hostile. Breakfast was an embarrassment. Had better in a work camp! Cold and unappealing breakfast handed to you in a cardboard box. Little to no choices. Hair in bathtub and bath towels. Elevators takes 10 plus minutes. F. ront desk personnel at 9 am without personality. Early evening front desk person OK. 25 dollars to park your car which I knew about before hand

Location. Clean . Off street parking Breakfast horrible . You had to pay extra to park on their grounds.
- 4.5/5
Great location Breakfast should have bigger selections
- 4/5
Very slow elevator, ended using the stairs. Room and bathroom were clean. Need better tv access. Local chanels would be nice. Breakfast ok, but vegetarian option would be appreciated. The stay was comfortable.
- 3/5
Before arriving the "room key app" link didn't work. Check-in onsite was easy and the lady checking me in was very nice and gave me restaurant advice. The room was clean and nice. The elevator was the slowest I've ever been on. The included breakfast didn't exist. Showed up at 8:30 and was told they don't have anything but are waiting for more to arrive,,, The closest restaurant for breakfast" Wraptor" was closed, had to walk to a deli like a mile away. I'd give it 2 stars. The only good thing is it's close to the cruise port but you're probably better off to stay in Manhattan if you want to do anything.
- 3.5/5
Limited breakfast options . No options to pay for car parking for an extra couple of hours. Smallish room for 4 adults and luggage
- 4/5
Very convenient location and plenty of parking.
- 5/5
Great location if going on a cruise, nice room, fun neighborhood, easy check-in and out process
- 3/5
To be honest, I really love this hotel but part of the charm was the tremendous breakfast buffet that they provided. It was all fresh fruit and pastries, and breakfast entrées that were outstanding. We were shocked to go downstairs to the breakfast room and find that breakfast was premade in a paper to-go container and as you ordered it, they put it in the microwave and heated it up. There was also a little cup of oatmeal that you could have heated in the microwave and some fruit in a cup that was not fresh. What a disappointment and at the same price. The staff continues to be lovely and the room is simple and nice. But when you go expecting a delicious breakfast that will stay with you for the morning and later and find something microwaved and unappetizing is really a big letdown.
- 3/5
Breakfast was very disappointing. Everything was served in pre-packaged boxes that had to be microwaved, which made the food feel low-quality and unappetizing. There were no fresh options at all no fruit, no juice, and very limited variety. This fell well below the basic expectations for a hotel breakfast.
- 5/5
Everything great. Breakfast is ends, pancake, muffin, sausage reassembled in clamshell that the breakfast microwaves when you arrive to breakfast. Good. They also have fruit, yogurt, oatmeal. Comfy bed. Everything is CLEAN. Only so-so thing is the elevator: one slow elevator for 4 floors of rooms. More than a few times we push the call button, wait awhile, then just take the stairs. We will come back to this hotel.
- 3/5
The breakfast was very mediocre and the portion size was small. There was an incident with water leaking from an upstairs room and it caused major disruptions our first night. The hotel was very noisy and we needed to play white noise to sleep. The heater was difficult to get to operate. We also found hair in the shower when we arrived.

Very clean room and staff was excellent, even allowing us to check in a little early
- 4/5
Every staff member was nice and helpful. Rooms were fairly clean. Biggest disappointment was the breakfast that was supposed to be a buffet. It was not. Notably, doors/walls super thin so we heard different noises and people all night. Beds were super comfortable. Felt safe in the neighborhood, even walking to and from the subway.

Very nice and well maintained. Very friendly staff. Close to the cruise terminal
- 5/5
We loved staying at The Lodge. The staff was extremely helpful, immediately giving us tips for getting around (take the bus to the subway or take the ferry). They have great suggestions for places to eat and things to do nearby. Our room was cleaned daily, and they always replaced everything that had been used. The breakfast came in a box - 1/person - with two sausage links, eggs, one pancake, one hash brown and a small croissant with options to get fruit and English muffins, as well. It was good, but we eventually got tired of eating the same thing
- 5/5
Comfy bed and friendly staff. Parking is also very convenient.
- 1/5
They put us in a basement room next to the breakfast room not a nice place would not recommend the hotel
- 4/5
Hallways look very low budget. Room numbers are cut out of paper and taped on the door. Looks ghetto. But great location if you are boarding a boat. Continental Breakfast is absolutely terrible. Don’t bother. Staff are very lovely and very helpful. Rooms once inside are pretty good. Beds are very comfortable
- 3/5
The staff is very nice. The rooms are loud and there were random people talking and laughing in the hallway at 4AM for no reason. Not a restful place. It's in one of the dodgiest corners of NYC I've ever stayed in. Again, the front desk folks were lovely but I just don't think I'd ever do it again.
- 5/5
The room was always clean. We requested extra towels and were promptly answered. Every staff member was super friendly.
- 3/5
We stayed on the cellar floor, which was slightly cheaper but it was very noisy during the night and the morning. The windows are also very small however the room was fine and clean and the bathroom didn't have the necessary things like shampoo and conditioner even though it had the pumps for it. The breakfast was early: 6:30-9:30 and it was also okay. Overall, it was okay. The beds were comfy and every night we were there they redressed the room and did the beds and stuff

Second time staying here. As good as the first. Thank you

Friendly staff. Breakfast options better than expected.

Our stay was accommodating. The breakfast was decent, just keeping the heat for the food was my main complaint, but overall we enjoyed our stay. Felt safe and staff are very nice.

The room was reasonable enough and the breakfast nice but the hotel took a massive $100 deposit from me on 5th February and as of 23rd February they have not returned it. I have been home a week now and could have done with that $100 whilst I was still in the US. But now I’m back home, the $100 would be pretty much useless to me and I’ll have to pay expensive exchange rates to convert it to my local currency. Not appropriate The Lodge !! Hotel guests beware!!

Deadbolt would not work on the door due to the striking plate falling off and the toilet seat was moving 3 inches from side to side. The place appeared to be lacking maintenance. Staff was nice but I hurt my tooth eating the breakfast sausage. It was full of grizzle. The Breakfast Dining area was 100% humidity due to water pouring out of the ductless on the wall into 55 gallon garbage cans. I was disappointed for the $275 for one night.

We were on c level (lower level) - the noise level was horrible. It was so loud that I had to complain both nights. It was loud at night and in the morning!! The room was fine and clean. The noise unacceptable!

Very friendly staff room was clean. I do think hand lotion would be good to add to your amenities. Also, I had the room right off the elevator where all the maid service supplies were so it was relatively noisy more than average amount of time perhaps consider moving the maid station elsewhere

Charging for parking is not necessary. The spaces are available and guest already paid to sleep there. Why are we paying to park. That's our transportation not like the property was responsible for the vehicles in lot. So why are you charging guests to park and the cars are not even being locked after. Why have a parking lot at all.

We booked a cellar King room, and were placed right next to the dining room. The staff were friendly, but the room location should have come with a disclaimer. The noise levels at 430 am were just unacceptable. The door should and could be replaced with a soundproof door. That would make the stay more pleasurable. The bed was uncomfortable, it was sheets only. No comforter, or blanket was provided. The breakfast was well stocked and plentiful, but again, the people using it were LOUD and rude. If we choose to stay here again, a Cellar room will not be what we choose.

The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the front desk/reception staff, who were polite, professional, and genuinely helpful. They did their best, and I appreciate their attitude. Unfortunately, because of the room conditions and lack of consideration for guest comfort, I will never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel.

Relatively short walk from Brooklyn cruise terminal and we were able to store our luggage as it was too early to access our room. Russian girl on check-in was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable with nice decor. Breakfast room was quite small and crowded but good to be able to have something before heading out for the day. The neighbourhood is a bit scruffy but felt safe and about a 20 minute walk to a subway station for easy access to Manhattan. Good value for money compared to most New York hotels. Recommend for pre or post cruise departures or for a few days of site-seeing.

The room was really clean and comfortable. The only concern that we had was that we found the price tag off a new pair of jeans that we had not purchased in one of the beds. The Hotel is only a 15 minute walk to the Subway and around a 12 minute walk to the Ferry Terminal so it has really good transport options. The staff were friendly. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel and would stay again.

I have stayed here previously and I must say, a higher floor is the way to go. I was in C-level, and my room was nowhere near the quality of the upper floors where I have stayed before. The staff is Great, so there's no issues there. BUT THEY HAVE NO ICE MACHINES! For the price, that is totally unacceptable. I asked the front desk, and they said they have ice trays in the fridge...the freezer part. For some odd reason, all three times I've stayed there, the ice cube tray is just filled with water and not frozen. They also don't have standard cable channels unless I'm missing something. There was a football game on on NBC. Even a scrubby hotel has NBC. Of course I come prepared so I was able to find it on my fire stick under my Peacock subscription, but still. Another annoyance is the fact that they have NO MICROWAVE. It's 2025 (almost 2026), let's get a microwave going here, huh? Uber Eats delivery is incredibly slow to this location, so be prepared for that too. Overall grade of the hotel, a modest 75 out of 100.

Everything was fine except breakfast closes at 9:30 on Saturday and Sunday morning. They should give people enough time to get breakfast on the weekend. We should keep it open till 1030, 11 o’clock.

I will NEVER stay at this hotel again! The staff is rude and unprofessional. The rooms were dirty. All four that they showed me. I had to switch hotels. Unfortunately, I didn't get my money back. I am disappointed overall.

Check-in was fast, efficient, stressless, and extremely courteous (thank you to Roy) and left a great first impression. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The included breakfast seemed more like a buffet - plenty of food choices with friendly and efficient staff in a clean location. Front desk staff are very friendly. The only negative is the slow elevator.
- 5/5

Good for overnight stay before a cruise trip. Breakfast was good. Rooms are quite small. Neighborhood is not necessarily the best. It didn't feel safe and limited dining options

The staff was very friendly and amazing! The Hotel is very very nice and clean. I will definitely be back.
- 5/5
This was a special find. While we normally stay at Marriott facilities, I am glad we decided to try The Lodge. The facility was nice and it had included a good sized parking lot. Though the rooms were small, they were well appointed, with a comfortable bed and bathroom. They also put out a nice breakfast spread. The hotel was in a quiet area, across from a police station and next to a fire station, which made it feel extra safe. We definitely intend to stay here the next time we visit NYC.

Well stay was good except rooms definately need microwave. If you buy food or stayed after medical procedure you need a place to warm food. No ice machine even in common area is ridiculous. Surely you can make a common room for ice and microwave on a floor even if its one..

I tried to have a nap after checking in because of my early flight and it was impossible. The breakfast is served down there as well so noises started around 6am. It was the noisiest hotel stay I’ve ever had. Maybe a higher floor is better.

- 5/5
Stayed before our cruise it it was perfect!
- 4/5
The cruise port was close, which was convenient. There was only a vending machine for snacks. A concession stand would have been nice. There was no microwave in the room. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast room was too small, it was over crowded when we were there.
- 5/5
Comfy room, good hotel and breakfast.
- 5/5
Great value for a clean and comfortable room, welcoming staff, and a breakfast that was tasty and had a variety of options. I was on foot so for some meetings depended on subways around town and the walk from the closest station was about 18 minutes but GPS was accurate so all went well. I would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
Room was good, staff were great, breakfast was great. But not the best location
- 4/5
Room was clean and spacious! Breakfast can be better though
- 5/5
We liked staying in this out of the way hotel. The staff was so nice and the place was clean.
- 5/5
The lodge is one of the best hotels i have stayed at in a while .. the room was very nice and the bed so inviting!! Breakfast was very good although the seating area is not enough when most of the hotel comes down. Red hook is a nice boutiquish neighborhood with some good eats and seemed safe
- 5/5
(You can get an even cheaper price if you book a cellar aka basement room but I wouldn’t recommend this unless you’re a very heavy sleeper bc breakfast happens down in cellar level starting at 6:30am and they play music.) Breakfast was overwhelming in a good way. There were so many options including fresh fruit salad with the best fruits- pineapple, berries etc. they even had salad and veggie burgers- not what I want to eat at 6am but impressive! Some reviews mentioned the staff asking for room numbers immediately when you arrive and limiting you on hot items to one round (eggs/sausage). Both of these were true but most of the food (like 15 items!) were not on the hot spread and you could have as much as you want. As far as asking for room numbers, many places do it. I think it’s just more awkward for them bc they have two doors so they have to yell across the place sometimes- maybe get up and ask quietly instead? Or only leave one door unlocked? Overall, amazing value for price and would stay again or recommend. I used public transit to get there and it was a bit out of way but not bad. Worth it for the quiet.
- 5/5
Was great just there was a bit of noise at night
- 5/5
Very close to pier for cruises leaving from Brooklyn.Staff very accommodating and friendly.
- 3/5
The breakfast food was all gone before 9;00 AM even though they advertised it was open until 9;30. The serving staff were young and had to put up with the angry guests as there was no management on site. We did manage to get a refund from the front desk manager, Erika, but this was unacceptable.
- 5/5
Very nice experience
- 5/5
Loved how close this hotel was to the cruise port. Plenty of restaurants nearby that were walkable. Staff was very friendly & gave us tips on where to go. Breakfast had a variety of options, with hot items served by staff. Cold items set up as buffet.
- 4/5
So so had better but was ok. Loved the little sub shop around the corner, owner was very friendly & sub was great!
- 5/5
The breakfast was excellent. A wide variety of high quality options that set us up for a busy day.
- 5/5
Loved the neighborhood Staff fabulous!! Front desk people !!
- 5/5
Breakfast has a variety but the coffee was horrible and the scrambled eggs where made from powder
- 4/5
Fine for a night. Clean, safe, and reasonably quiet by city standards. Walking distance to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, but if you’re dealing with lots of luggage, expect a long wait for the elevator, which was on the fritz for a few hours during our stay. Breakfast excellent, but it gets super-crowded at peak times, so maybe go a little later?
- 5/5
Did not make bkfst, staff super responsive to messages or requests.
- 5/5
Great breakfast, but there should be an option to eat whatever quantity you want and not be limited to one plate of eggs and bacon and potatoes. That was very strange
- 5/5
Our second stay and just as expected, kind professional reception and staff. Breakfast is full of healthy choices. Close to Brooklyn cruise terminal, for Cunard Queen Mary 2 transatlantic crossings!
- 4/5
Very friendly helpful staff. $50 for early check in - came exhausted off a redeye from CA. Overall great place to stay, Red Hook is super cute.
- 1/5
This hotel should be in the $100 per night range, not over $400. I honestly don’t understand how it has so many good reviews; please be honest and stop misleading people. Travelers deserve at least a comfortable night’s sleep for that price. I would rather take an overnight flight and sleep on the plane than rest in this hotel.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
Ottimo soggiorno a Brooklyn, posizione comoda con la metro a circa 10 minuti a piedi per andare a Manhattan, colazione buona! Consigliato
- 4/5
Needs a fitness room Staff were very helpful and friendly Roy particularly loved
- 4/5
The area is safe close to police station but nothing is close by except one restaurant. Not noisy
- 4/5
Spacious and clean room and with a very large, comfy bed, ample towels and hot water. Window opened a little and there was air con if required. Tv had Netflix. Breakfast was ok but on a busy day arriving late you left you with limited options. Our one disappointment was only having a coffee maker not a kettle in the room for hot drinks.
- 5/5
Loved the area of Red Hook!! Go to Sunny’s Bar for amazing live music.
- 4/5
Reason to stay- very close to cruise terminal. Room clean. Staff helpful. Free breakfast was good but need to get there early or limited selection left. I don't eat eggs etc but good selection of other items. Several restaurants close by for meals. Plus small store/deli close with good selections
- 5/5
Friendly
- 4/5
Breakfast was just ok. Food was cold The room was clean but smelled very musty.
- 5/5
This was an absolute gem! Safe and the staff were super helpful and kind. I had to check in super late, and the staff were so accommodating. The only downside is the slow elevator, but everything else was excellent! Thank you

Staff was very nice

I have a lot of breathing issues - previous pulmonary embolism, asthma, and severe allergies. I got to the hotel late in the afternoon. The moment I stepped into the room, I knew I couldn't stay there. My eyes started watering, and my throat was closing up. I took my albuterol emergency inhaler and returned downstairs to see if I could get another room. I was told no, and she said I didn't want the room! It wasn't that I didn't like it; I didn't want to wind up in the hospital ER at the beginning of my vacation. I asked for the manager, but he had gone home. I asked for his email so I could send an email explaining that this condition is life-threatening to me. He returned my email and said he couldn't reimburse me for my three paid nights since I booked through Expedia. I booked another hotel and left. The manager emailed again to say his team went to the room and couldn't find anything, causing my discomfort. I'm sure a doctor could weigh in here and tell them they wouldn't find anything if they didn't have breathing issues. I couldn't tell them what caused it, but I know that I couldn't stay there without health consequences. Expedia should check to see if the room was rented out those three nights, thus getting double pay!

The Lodge Red Hook is a clean, safe and comfy stay in Brooklyn. We appreciated the included breakfast and private parking. Red Hook is a laid-back, waterfront neighborhood in southwest Brooklyn and is a great base to explore both Brooklyn and Manhattan by Citibike and by foot. In just a few minutes walk you are on a waterfront leading to the Brooklyn bridge with excellent views of the Manhattan skyline.

Nice hotel, close to the port terminal. Breakfast, though included, disappointing. Whatever eggs they brought in, it seems they use a catering company, were overdone, and they ran out of eggs and bacon quickly. Totally unprepared. Also, toaster was broken. So dont fall for the "Breakfast Included", unless they just had a bad day when we visited.
- 3/5
Simple room with poor comfort for the bed
- 5/5
Hidden gem! Staff were so helpful and accommodating.
- 5/5
I truly enjoyed my stay. A little jewel nestled in Brooklyn. The breakfast was divine. Fine manners and proper language by the staff is so refreshing while traveling. I loved the coffee. It felt very French!!!

Nice Hoel. Stayed in cellar room. Was comfortable
- 3/5
The price for the room was very high .
- 5/5
From check in to check out, everything was great!
- 4/5
Easy check in with friendly, thoughtful desk attendant. Silvia did a beautiful job preparing the room. It was clean and cozy, meeting my expectations. Air conditioning was on and room was at a comfortable temperature.
- 3/5
Had a problem with tv app choices. Asked for help from front desk. He said he’d be up in 5 minutes but never came up.
- 3/5
A well stock food store was about 5/10 mins walk away along with a coffee shop and Pizza take away, was all we needed for a one night stop before a cruise. Possible to walk to Pier 12 cruise terminal if you’re able bodied but is approx 15/20 mins, fine on a nice sunny morning like we had.

Thank you!!

Good stay

The location was great and close to the cruise ship. The rooms are small but ok for the one night stay
- 4/5
The staff was really friendly, and helpful throughout the visit. Good breakfast options and portions although the yogurt was expired, other than that was good. They also had luggage storage which was a huge plus. If there was more storage options or shelves in the washroom and an accessible microwave it would have made the stay perfect! Overall nice place to stay and good bang for your buck.

Close to our activity
- 5/5
Great stay
- 4/5
The only complaint we have is two days in a row they were out of eggs and fruit by 9am and breakfast went to 9:30. We had two days without breakfast. When the place is full they should cook more. Other than that the place was perfect for us.
- 5/5
Great location if you’re going to cruise port. Very friendly staff. Comfy beds. Very clean
- 3/5
Our room was very small. Location was close to where we needed, but didn’t look too safe outside after dark. We had no problems, but it was a spooky walk to the subway for a portion of the way. Breakfast was only so so. For the price, it was bad, but I guess all hotels in that area are expensive.
- 5/5
Everyone was friendly. Clean room.
- 5/5
I liked the hotel the staff was friendly beds were comfy breakfast was great. Area of hotel is good and police dept is in front of hotel, there is a market and resturant next to hotel. Very convient. Only thing i would recommend is to add a microwave in the room.
- 5/5
Nice people,clean,convenient
- 2/5
Very stingy with the breakfast
- 4/5
Perfect for our pre-cruise stay. Basic, clean. Breakfast included. Walking distance to lots of restaurants, bars, shops. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Staff helped us book in earlier due to arrival time being bumped up (our flight was pushed up by 3 hours) We were travelling with my elderly father and he needed to lie down. They quickly cleaned up one of the rooms. Camira helped us check in and was was amazing.
- 5/5
The property was fine for a night before our cruise. Quiet neighborhood.
- 4/5
Walkable to cruise terminal. Breakfast was good- lots of options.
- 3/5
The room- we had two doubles (they don’t do cots so one of us co-slept with the baby). The room was ‘fine.’ For an overnight stay it did the job. Roku TV stick was a nice touch but many apps on it needed subscribing to. The floor wasn’t carpeted and hadn’t been mopped for a long time- soles of our feet were black. Only one slow elevator which at busy times (breakfast/checkout) took a long time to get into. Breakfast was in a random room in the basement. An ok selection of food-cereals, melon, pastries, hash brown, egg, sausage. But the room is far far too small. Ran out of seats that were already crammed in and people had to queue. We ended up taking our breakfast back to the room. Think modern youth hostel bur without the shared dorms and that sums it up.

Noisy AC….small room…elevator smells

It was great

Basic hotel at a great price, nice and clean. Walk to dinner, and then we walked to the Queen Mary cruise. Free breakfast. Lovely staff.

Excelente staff! Friendy& knowledgeable
- 4/5
Ok for night before cruise, but early morning hallway noise cut into sleep
- 2/5
I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel Unfortunately, several issues made my experience far below expectations. • The elevator was out of service during my stay, which forced me to take the stairs. This was very inconvenient and unacceptable, especially for guests with luggage or mobility concerns. • The hallways were noticeably dirty and poorly maintained, which did not reflect the standard of cleanliness I expected. • The television in my room was not working, limiting the amenities I paid for. I chose your hotel based on the expectation of comfort and quality service, but these problems caused significant inconvenience and frustration. I believe some form of compensation or adjustment is appropriate under these circumstances. I hope you will address these concerns promptly to ensure future guests do not face the same issues. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Glam me up Toronto

The buffet could be larger to accommodate all quests. There was a variety of food.
- 5/5
We were very pleased with our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Overall outstanding services and the price adequate for the money compare to others hotels in the area and extremely close to the cruise terminal, will come again to the same hotel. Great job.
- 5/5
Close to cruise port. Good value for area.
- 4/5
Air conditioner wouldn’t cool down. Everything else about the hotel and staff was excellent. Great place to stay for the value & will stay there again
- 4/5
Clean facility with great breakfast.

Mattress was just ok. Bedding was nice. Reasonable compared with other hotéls.

- 4/5
Quiet, clean, close to ferry, reasonably priced, a little small but it was perfect for what I needed.
- 4/5
Staff were generally good, location a bit dodgy, doesn’t feel safe walking around near the hotel when dark, walking past industrial buildings and lock ups to reach places to eat. Although we only stayed 1 night and had two rooms it’s been a week and the $200 room holding deposits for any breakages etc still haven’t been credited back, which is much slower than any other hotels we stayed at in the US.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean hotel. Comfortable bed, quiet, we got a good night sleep. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent.
- 3/5
Not a 3 star, more like 2 Staff is great
- 3/5
No toothpaste No microwave No lotion No closet No water during breakfast. Staff is really good. Good 2 star hotel
- 4/5
Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and comfortable. No microwave, which was downside for us. Breakfast is great, only thing is that breakfast area should be bigger, it can get packed up and sometimes no available seating. Would stay again.
- 3/5
Room was ok, smaller than other hotels i have been to. When I first got to the room, there was a very strong smell, i had to open the window to let the air out. The window curtain had holes in it and there was leak in the bathroom ceiling. Overall, i know this is NY but this was very expensive.
- 3/5
The room was clean. It takes forever to go to breakfast because of the very small elevator and lots of people. The included breakfast is mediocre, crowded, they clean your table while you eat. Will not go back to this hotel.
- 4/5
Easy to access the underground to get into Manhattan or Dumbo. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance. Car park for free on street; however, it may be difficult to find a spot. Accommodation itself is nothing special but does the job.
- 4/5
This is the second time we stayed at the lodge, we chose this hotel because of the location and easy parking. The hotel is clean and the staff is very helpful. However, the floor felt sticky, and the pillow was smaller than the regular pillow and did not feel comfortable. But overall it’s still worth the price to stay in Brooklyn
- 5/5
Great service and comfort will be staying again
- 5/5
Hotel was great. While the room was on the small side the furniture allowed for tons of storage. Lots of nooks to put luggage away.
- 4/5
Checkout is relatively late, so you’re not rushed to get out of the hotel. Rooms were no frills, but clean. Free breakfast included hot and cold options. Would stay here again!

Convenient stay if you are taking a cruise.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Comfy bed. Would definitely stay again! Close to the cruise ship pier.
- 5/5
Pleasant staff, clean and convenient to port.

The linens were fresh and clean. The bed was comfortable.

The front desk girl Inna was very friendly and helpful.

Staff very friendly and helpful

Had issues with the plumbing, shower handle was hard to adjust and the toilet was hard to flush
- 3/5
Room smelled of cigarettes. Shampoo/soap dispensers EMPTY
- 4/5
Location is not good for public transport.
- 4/5
Convenient to port for Cruise and the price was right.
- 5/5
Staff was great. Property was good and breakfast was great. Would recommend.
- 4/5
The good thing about this hotel is that it is within walking distance of the cruise ship terminal, if you are not hauling a lot of luggage; otherwise, hotel staff can contact a taxi for the short trip.
- 4/5
Hotel was right next to a police station, so felt very safe. The room was clean and breakfast was excellent. The only complaint we have was that some of the rooms are half underground, which makes for a feeling of claustrophobia for some.
- 4/5
It was okay
- 3/5
It's quite noisy at night because you can hear doors slamming at each end of the hallway and from the guests'doors as well. I was given ear plugs by the hotel staff who were professional and friendly. New pillows are called for. We had 3 rooms and the pillows were lumpy in all 3. The breakfast was acceptable. No fresh fruit. Not even bananas. Scrambled eggs. You can't serve yourself. The staff serves the hot choices, which were scrambled eggs, hash browns and sausage. One granola choice, no yogurt.
- 5/5
Great bed, bath and free breakfast!
- 4/5
We stayed here for one night as it was near the embarkation area of our cruise. For that purpose, this hotel was excellent. The room was clean, bed comfy, and check-in/out very easy. My ONLY note is that the water in our bathtub would periodically run brown. We didn’t see it in our sink water but leaving the water to run in the tub, you would we see spurts of brown happening periodically in the flow. Because of that, we opted not to shower that night. That was our only concern. Again, it was great for the night, but that would have been a bigger concern if we were staying longer than that.
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Clean, quiet, safe and comfortable!
- 3/5
Breakfast was poor because it was supposed to end at 9:30 and 8:45 the buffet was empty and no refills . Very disappointing for the price they charge.
- 5/5
I have lived in Brooklyn for decades and never could have imagined staying in Red Hook . But.. in 2025.. this place is a beacon! One of the best hotels I have stayed in when visiting my home! People say the area is sketchy.. it’s not. It’s just full of manufacturing facilities.. but it’s safe. The restaurant in the area were outstanding.. and in walking distance. The breakfast at the hotel was outstanding!! Parking was plentiful and easy… Hot and cold food and the whole facility was clean .. and quiet. I will absolutely stay again..
- 5/5
Perfectly located for our MSC Cruise! I was able to walk to the cruise port from the hotel. Super clean and the staff are incredibly friendly! Breakfast was a great way to start the day. Restaurants were relatively close, too. If you are cruising out of Brooklyn, you want to stay here!

I stayed with my boyfriend after a concert at Barclays. We were surprised to have a room in the basement but the room itself was pretty good. Not too big but comfortable enough to get ready in. Considering our room was in the basement it was well lit and the windows were looking into the parking lot. The cafe on premises is in the basement but we did not have a chance to make our way over. Im extra critical of bathrooms in any hotel room but i was impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of this bathroom. I would stay again. Receptionists at the desk were friendly and helpful. Overall no complaints, good stay.

Excellent room for the price. Breakfast is top notch. Staff is great.
- 5/5
I hesitate to say great things because then too many people would go. LOL. Great hotel with great people.
- 4/5
Breakfast and staff all pleasing, the room too. However, i did not see much in that area for my teenage son and I to do.
- 5/5
The breakfast crew was awesome!

The breakfast was outside due to construction.
